an apology and update! for all you beautiful people - 2 for the price of 1

hello! over the months i've written and deleted this letter because i was too much of a coward to show my face after i left. i contemplated if it would be adequate enough, if it even matters. At the end, i owe this fandom too much, so here it is:

THE APOLOGY

i am truly sorry. there's no better way of putting it.

the more i create the more i realise how this fandom held my hand and i simply wouldn't be the person i am now if this blog never existed. i've always struggled with sharing art and writing online, as i thought it was too lame and took the coward route of keeping it to myself and my closest friends.

ever since this blog, i've found that less of an issue. the more i think about how much i let you and myself down by disappearing the more i feel the shame weigh me down. i never wanted to leave, but life has this funny way of forcing your hand when you least expect it.

without getting too personal, this year hasn't been great for me or anyone close to me - friendships died, family members were hospitalised, university crushed me, expectations from everyone around me made me question if i'm failing in every aspect of my life, i lost passions like art - something i've always thought of as my dream career, and i fear the stress will only grow rather than die down.

in some of those harder moments i would always turn to a distraction, create something for a fandom i enjoy to get my mind off things. to see your comments and your messages always kept me going even when i physically couldn't take the stress of everything around me anymore. being busy made my flame for F1 dwindle, too. it's one of the main reasons i didn't return earlier. I've missed half the races this year, yes that includes both lando and oscar's wins, and although im looking forward to the summer break ending and the racecs coming back, i don't think the enthusiasm will ever return to the way it was when this blog was at its peak.

i feel like a coward for disappearing and it's a big regret of mine this year. i can't promise to write for F1 again, but what i've made will always be archieved here :)

THE UPDATE

not great. i can't even lie i'm not doing too hot right now. i promised i would return to writing when things finally calmed down and yet the more stress there was the more one off projects i made to combat it. throughout the months i've accumulated a lot of side projects for different fandoms like star wars, star trek, dc, merlin and lesser known fandoms such as heavy rain, mortal kombat, the sims (no seriously have you seen the lore) etc. that i have nowhere to post. in april i decided i can't afford (literally) to distract myself with any hobby projects for the sake of my situation and thus... i was an idiot and i deleted my ao3 account. there weren't that many stories on there anyway, but i regret it even if it was the right decision.

i owe @wtfisakilometer2 so much for telling me that the people who love the blog wouldn't mind what fandom it is as long as it's by me, even if i don't fully believe it. it did open my eyes to finally write this, though, so direct all your love to her.

so that leaves me here, sort of homeless on my own blog and with very conflicting feelings about it's direction. i intend to preserve it as an archive of my F1 writing without messing with it, but still let you know about my new ao3 and everything on it so i can keep both our interests in mind.

i’m not talking about the, like, recipes side of pinterest, or the aesthetic photos side of pinterest. i’m talking about the pretty specific subsection of like, tumblr screenshots and badly edited facebook memes, and mentally ill gay teenagers. i myself, am on this side of pinterest, i’ll admit.

there’s some, like, niche pinterest micro celebrities, for example, pickle man, erm what the frick, johnny the mommy, etc etc. whenever they’re seen in a comment section, there’s at least one person saying “omg you’re everywhere!1!!11”

another example, pinterest commenters are special. there’s like…inside jokes, just like on tumblr, but..idk

you can probably find that exact thread if you just look through the comments a bit. now, this type of thing is fine, of course, we all love inside jokes.

but, starting off as a pinterest kid, that became like, ingrained in my brain, so whenever im on tumblr my immediate reaction is to say shit like, “i want you” “i have a crush on you” instead of just “what”.

another thing, pinterest fucking sucks. and everyone on there (the gay side of pinterest, i mean) knows it. the ui sucks, especially on the browser version, the dms hardly work, and pins just disappear sometimes. lots of brands (i guess?) will take like ‘memes’ and upload it to pinterest, to get people to click, and take them to some shitty article. this leads to, fuckin idk, a picture of some tumblr post with the ifunny logo, and the title of the pin is like Top Ten Ways Wives Aren’t Satisfying Their Husbands.

pinterest hate culture, is also very interesting. for example, if you mention, say, ed sheeran, or look for ed sheeran pins, it’s so. much. hate. and then there’s troll/bait accounts, that exclusively make posts going against the grain so they’ll get attention. because there’s another thing, pinterest users fucking suck at ignoring bait. the boyfriends comic (? i think it’s called that) has so much hate on there. i’ve never even read it but i know so much from people talking about how shit it is. those pinterest kids are crazy, they talk to the obvious bait accs and tell them to “sayori challenge” (video game character that took her own life). i could go into the mogai/xenogender discourse but that’s a whole other post.

- When you first decided to pet xeno initially he’s confused as fuck. You, a mere mortal, was petting him who he considers himself a god like a goddamn dog. Do you not have a death wish? You clearly do if you're doing this to him. But at the same time he can’t really deny that it feels good but knowing xeno there’s no way in hell he’ll admit it. You're not going to get xeno to admit that he enjoys this, he’s too prideful to admit it but I’m pretty sure that it would be so he doesn’t really say anything about it.

- Slight adding in the previous point, sometimes when you do this to him he becomes slightly self conscious. Like sure he likes it and doesn’t necessarily mind you doing it but he kind of feels like he’s not being seen as scary. He likes it when people are afraid of him and when he sees someone who isn’t he doesn’t really know what to do. It surprised you that xeno can even feel self conscious but despite that you still comfort him. You still tell him that he’s great at doing what he is, just because you're doing this doesn’t mean you think he’s weak

- Just like you’ve said in your request when you do this xeno can become very clingy towards you. As soon as you gently scratch him (especially behind the ears) he immediately stops whatever he’s doing and just goes limp. Congrats you’ve managed to get xeno to go limp, you definitely deserve a medal. You’ve got him in your arms, maybe if you're lucky he’s got his arms around you while you're patting his head. Obviously you do ask him beforehand if you can do it, you weren’t about to risk your life all for a head pat. But sometimes if he’s pissed off enough or in a bad mood you don’t even have to ask him. I can imagine him finding you and just grabbing you, taking you somewhere it’s just the two of you and placing your hand on his head.

- Okay can I just say that he definitely purrs when you pat his head or a noise something similar to it. Some sort of noise to indicate he enjoys it. There’s definitely some times where you’ve pointed it out but of course xeno shuts it down immediately acting like you’re hearing things and immediately demands you continue petting him.

Daniel: now he's in the fashion department and earning some money, he guesses he should take more of an interest in current trends. He's still wearing Jay's castoffs and he's happy with them but he takes a huge interest in women's fashion for his momma. She's worked hard and she deserves nice things and Daniel wants to spoil her 🥰

Jay: his hobby? Daniel. His thoughts? Daniel. His dreams? Daniel. But guns and motorbike? This boy has a thing for Hollywood action films and he has pretty good taste too. Classics-ish such as Matrix, Terminator, John Wick

Zoe: she loves watching animal rehab videos on social media, and even the videos of newtubers helping out homeless or down on their luck people. Most of it may be scripted but the act of kindness (even for selfish purposes) makes her melt

Vasco: you think this man doesn't have a Pinterest account? He doesn't spend his spare time putting boards together? His boards aren't public? He's not ashamed. He's got at least 1 for parties, 1 for golden retrievers and 1 for Hero Man pics

Jace: kdramas, the more romantic with as many tropes the better. He likes a good story filled with miscommunication, lots of crying, scenes in the rain and open eyed kisses 😳

Mary Kim: she's in the Vocal and Dance department but this girl can shred like no tomorrow. She has a band she's the lead vocalist and guitarist of that she keeps off Vins radar so he can keep the shitty rap to himself

Crystal: hiking and the outdoors. It's a way to keep her second body fit and get away from her desk and all the business bullshit. During the days that Gun acts as her bodyguard, she tells him to stay at least 50ft away so he doesn't ruin the mood

Jake: memelord. Cos at least humour is free. He collects pics and memes, and has so many shitty dad jokes up his sleeve to send to the Big Deal members and groupchats that he often gets kicked out or blocked. Hearing their exasperation at another one of his messages always brightens up his day

Samuel: lol drinking as a hobby. this man should be spending all his spare time in therapy but can't win them all 🤷‍♀️ Doesn't do much on his own time that doesn't advance his goals but enjoys sipping on some smooth expensive shit. - when you first came to the ministry Primo had already stepped down from Papa, letting his younger brother take charge

- you two had made small conversation outside, him telling you all about his garden, going into detail about every single flower and root vegetable he planted

- you learn fairly quickly that Primo is really just lonely and wants someone to talk to.

- it started off with you bringing a homemade meal here, new seeds there, and slowly your friendship became drinking your coffee in the morning and talking to each other about your day and the gossip you’ve heard from the fellow siblings of sun and cardinals. A few times a week y’all also sit down and make dinner, whether it be homemade food or ordering out

- you occasionally have to help him take care of his garden and room in the ministry, especially as he gets older

- he’s really resistant to it at first, complaining that he is still capable of washing his baseboards, then you retorting that he can barely sit down and stand up without help. Eventually he caves… bickering included

- sometimes he puts on his old robes and facepaint and performs in his room- you once caught him when he didn’t close the door all the way (he has bad eyesight)

- there were the obvious rumors, people calling him your sugar daddy or you a good digger, but it never was like that at all, more just helping an old man feel a little less alone.

- he drinks his coffee with way too much sugar and cream. He thought it was magic when you showed him how a keurig works

- his favorite flowers in his garden are his morning glories. You’ve caught him more then once standing out there at dawn to watch them bloom.

- this idea made me laugh: he texts like an old person. It took you 3 hours to explain a smart phone to him and that he doesn’t need to press numbers 3 times for a letter to appear.

Originally the meme (i found it in my notes) was zyglavis trying to trade Leon, Ichthys for Huedhaut. Zyg and Hue kind of have a on/off relationship but Zyg does try to recruit Huedhaut into punishments in a few of his stories but they never get around to talk.

Peter Steele (Jerry Trainer Interview), Haatepah Clearbear, David Bowie (Ziggie Stardust persona), Fandom portrayels of Enki (Fear and Hunger) and Damian Bloodmarch (Dream Daddy), and more my pinterest is messy

I personally believe Zyglavis has monolids and thick eyebrows given by his sprite. I don’t believe the gods have ethnicities/nationalities. They just have various features from different cultures. Some of the gods you can tell they have “wider” and hooded eye shapes (Dui, Teo) but certain char sprites like Scorpio, Huedhaut, and Zyglavis have smaller eye shapes.

Also Zyg def has resting bitch face or just the angry brows

I really love the idea that even in their human forms, the gods don’t 100% look like humans. (I'm all for the eldritch abomination, lovecraftian, biblically accurate god form designs.)

Granted they will start showing irregularities if their powers start fucking up (Teo/Leon). They come off as otherworldly still (too beautiful, too perfect, sparkly etc) and if a human stared at the gods too long it would induce a sense of uncanniness eventually.

Bcuz Zyglavis rules over the constellation of Libra, I imagine that in his human appearance he’s 100% symmetrical bcuz he’s the balanced scales (except for his ponytail).

Since she can't actually get hurt permanently, she actually stands up for herself more and others if she senses any wrongdoing afoot. Though this makes her come across as bitter and callous at first

・Her ghost ability is being able to manipulate contained liquid. Such as cups/mugs/cans/flasks. So if she were do dip her finger into a glass of water and swirl it around, she could create a whirlpool that's visible even to livings

・Another of her abilities is to be able to smell things (the other ghosts aside from Robin seem like they can't smell things that aren't dead at least) 

・If she concentrates hard enough, Amy can be seen in mirrors

・When she is very angry, she becomes a shadow person and can be seen by and interact physically with only one living at a time and all ghosts. The only way to tell it's her is her silhouette

・Hardly seperates herself from Humphrey but when she does it's most likely because she's sad/emotional. She either likes to be alone or with Robin or Silver when that happens

. Has become Humphrey’s officially adopted daughter thanks to Alison Cooper who still visits in her old age

Based on a pin I saw on Pinterest that I saw and somebody asked for a one-shot. So I wrote it. The pin’s link: https://pin.it/4FbLkA3 Young James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter being called to Professor McGonagall’s office for the very first time (a day or two into their first year) because they set off a box of dungbombs in the Great Hall. The four being nervous, but Sirius. Smiling and assuring him that it will be alright, that the pain will eventually go away, but that it gets worse if you try to fight it, so it’s best to just lie down and let it wash over you. The others being extremely confused. Remus nervously asking, “Sh-she wouldn’t really use that spell, would she?” James shaking his head and saying, “She can’t; it’s illegal. Nobody can…” Sirius being the one confused because isn’t it normal for the adults in charge to cast red spells that cause pain whenever the children do something wrong?

“Oookay, I think it’s way too early for that much pacing, mister.”

“Hm?”

Roman looked up from his binder as if broken out of a trance and Patton had to stifle a chuckle. Ever since the proposal, Roman had been swept up in a whirlwind of vision boards, checklists, and everything else wedding planning — that morning had been no different.

Though judging by the wild look in his eyes and how he dug his nails into the leather-bound cover, Roman probably would’ve paced their carpet to the ground if Patton hadn’t stopped him.

“C’mon,” he took Roman’s arm and gently pulled him towards the couch, carefully balancing the mug in his other hand.

“Alright, honey,” he said as he handed the other a cup of hot chocolate. “How about we put the binder aside for a little bit and you tell me what’s got you so nervous, hm?”

Roman sighed and pushed his hair back.

“Well- I was looking through some venues I thought were absolutely gorgeous, but then I realized to book a venue you need to know the amount of guests so I started writing down the guest list. But it’s been a while since I’ve seen everyone, and you know my family’s big, so I had to start texting people and figuring out how to send out the invites, and then my brother texts me and asks if I need help with the wedding planning, and I love Remus, you know that, but I have to give him something to do that won’t turn out a complete disaster and—”

“Okay, I think I see what’s going on,” Patton cut Roman off, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I know you’re very excited about this, honey, but if you try to do everything at the same time you’ll tie yourself up in knots. You have a checklist, don’t you?”

Roman nodded, taking a sip of his drink.

“So let’s follow that, one thing at a time.” Patton smiled, opening the binder to the ‘to-do’ page and pointing to one of the first items. “Let me write down the guest list, with the addresses and everything, since that’s stressing you out. Then you can write and decorate the invites.”

“Are you sure?”

Patton chuckled, putting his hands on his hips.

“Honey, it’s my wedding too.”

“I guess so,” Roman rolled his eyes, though the sarcasm was broken by the snort that followed it. “…Sorry, darling, I really didn’t mean to exclude you, just— tunnel vision.”

“Don’t worry, I know how you get,” Patton teased, coming up to wrap his arms around Roman’s shoulders and nuzzle his cheek. “My beautiful fiancé with his head stuck in the clouds.”

In response, Roman stuck out his tongue adorably and Patton couldn’t resist pressing a kiss onto his hair.

“…And about Remus,” Patton said. “We could always send my brother to keep him on track. Should prevent any disasters.”

“If you think that’d prevent disasters you got another thing coming.”

“What? You think Virgil can’t handle wrangling your brother?”

Roman huffed.

“It’s not Remus I’m worried about.”

“…Is this about last halloween?”

“Your brother is a menace and you know it!”

He wasn't wrong, Patton had to admit that. When he and Roman started dating Virgil had, in true older brother fashion, antagonized Roman quite a bit, which ended up both parts sweet and infuriating. Though with time any animosity had morphed into his weird way of showing affection, which consisted mostly of texting Roman memes at 4 a.m, and making elaborate plans to scare the crap out of him.

So yeah, maybe Patton could see how setting him loose with chaos incarnate, Remus, might be a bad idea.

“… We’ll think about it. Now! How about you show me those pinterest boards you’ve got saved up?”

Roman smiled bright as day as he pulled up the pictures, and as he rambled about color schemes and decorations, all Patton could focus on was the radiant glow that shone through when Roman was in his element.

He really couldn’t wait to marry him.

The second instalment in the 'Coming Back Home' series.

The plane touched down in a shorter amount of time than you had anticipated. You had managed to sleep through most of the flight before waking up and playing scrabble with your godfather, father and uncles. Unsurprisingly, you lost, as usual.

Pulling your leather jacket over your shoulders, you got into the Rolls Royce that was waiting when the jet touched down.

Another hour passed of you scrolling through Pinterest, laughing occasionally and having to explain memes to Freddie and Roger. The drummer of which always thinking he knows what 'the kids these days' are doing.

Finally, the car pulled up outside of the 'World's Most Famous Arena' a.k.a Madison Square Garden.

"Bloody hell." You spoke as you all got out of the car and crossed the car park behind the stage, it's sheer size never ceasing to amaze you whenever you played there.

"So, Tony, are you going to tell us where we're going or not?" Sam asked as the Avengers blindly turned another corner, coming face to face with MSG itself along with all of the screaming Queen fans outside.

"You have got to be kidding me." Steve and Bucky muttered in unison, only loud enough for eachother to hear.

They managed to dodge the fans and enter through the fire exit, (with the help of one Miami Beach) leading exactly to the stage, where sound check was supposed to be going on.

Immediately, Steve's eyes caught the frontwoman of Queen who was kicking a football to the frontman, all while the guitarist had long since given up trying to stop the game, instead resorting to watching. The drummer stood on one side of the floor in between a makeshift goal (piles of coats) and the bassist was on the other side, also in the goal.

"That all you've got, your majesty?" you lovingly but slightly mockingly questioned as you tackled the ball from your godfather, before shooting into Roger's goal.

"It's team Deacon for the win!" you herd Brian from his 'commentator' position on the edge of the stage.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen, we're here all week." You said as you ran onstage and bowed to the imaginary audience. "That, was for scrabble." you said as you jumped off of the stage and hugged Freddie.

"Darling, how do you have this much energy?"

"Seven hour nap on the plane?" you spoke as you herd Miami clear his throat. "When did you get 'ere, you could've joined in." you spoke, walking over to the man as Queen followed you.

"I'm fine just to watch, thank you, Y/n. Anyway, lads, these are the Avengers." he said gesturing to the group of people you hadn't even noticed were there.

"You're Natasha Romanoff, right?" you questioned as the redhead perked up.

"Yeah, I am, Miss Deacon." she said after you shook her hand, the rest of Queen familiarising themselves with the Avengers.

"There's seriously no need for that, call me Y/n. Anyway, I saw a video on TikTok of you singing your song in the movie and I was wondering if you'd like to sing it up there with me, y'know, just as a bit of fun." It was a long shot, you knew that, but she had a beautiful voice in the movie and you had hoped that she would say yes.

"It couldn't hurt." she smiled as you both ran to the stage and got two mics. "Acoustic?"

"Hell fucking yeah!" you said as you picked up Brian's acoustic guitar before you both started singing.

Everyone began to applaud you as your band's 'overprotective fathers' looks appeared on their faces.

You stepped away from Steve and cleared your throat. "I should, erm. Be going to the... Dressing room. Yeah, dressing room." you spoke as you walked offstage.

"Y/n?" you herd Brian say.

"Yeah?"

"Microphone." you gave him a look before noticing that the mic was still, in fact, in your hand.

"Right, yes.....lovely meeting you all..... Bye." " you said as you put it down and scurried away as quickly as you could. Only Bucky and the four Queens saw the way Steve was staring after you, a lovesick smile on his face.
