So, pre-season testing over, let’s talk numbers. Specifically, comparing the numbers of the past 3 days. (This is just by looking at the time sheets, and some stuff I found on twitter these past couple of days, and I will be doing a full analysis as much as I could after subscribing to F1 TV as I want to be able to look at all the data, the telemetry, tyre deg, etc)

Day 1 saw Max topping the board with 1:31:344, followed by Lando with 1:32:484 and Carlos 1:32:584, on that day, Charles was 1:33:247. To look at this, Max was the best during day 1. And let’s not forget the fact that Max was in C3, kind of used, they were not fresh tyres when he went on this run, and he was on a considerably high fuel load, almost as much fuel as a full race. In addition to the fact that this was day 1, on a track that is known for its high temps, and its improvements as time pass. Charles was not able to pull times as Max or Lando or Carlos because he was in the morning run, aka the worst run of the track, as the weather was very war (track temp being around 38) and the track was literally being used for the first time in a while.

Day 2 saw Carlos topping the timesheet with a 1:29:921, while Checo was on 1:30:679 followed by Lewis who pulled a 1:31:066, while Charles pulled a 1:31:750. Again, Charles went in the AM session, temps are high, track is only getting better. And let’s bot overlook the fact that Carlos pulled the 1:29 on C5 tyres, Charles didn’t use any softs yesterday.

Finally day 3, which saw Charles at the top if the time sheet with 1:30:322, followed by George who managed a 1:30:368, followed by Zhou, who got a 1:30:647 and then Max with a 1:30:755. This was in the best track conditions, but the times by Charles, George and Zhou are not indicators for next week, and we can’t consider them for the first race next Saturday. The reason is that Charles, George and Zhou were on C4 tyres, softs in testing, but nit Bahrain’s softs. The tyre compounds used in Bahrain are C1, C2 and C3. Which means that Max only used the tyres to be used on a GP weekend, and he topped the timesheet today with these tyres, pulling the fastest time with them, and only being 4th while the top 3 are using softer, faster, newer and grippier tyres.

Now from these, we can conclude a couple of things: 1. Red Bull are apparently very very very tyre friendly. I mean, from that Twitter screenshots earlier were showing the tyre deg and the fact Max improved his time as he used the tyres (or could just be he’s insane, which he is) 2. The Ferrari is good, better than last year that is for sure, and the fact that they were among the top in most sessions, impressive work from the Scuderia who hopefully are able to do good this year, and don’t fuck up in other areas if the car is as good as it looks. 3. Mercedes are worrying, not being able to top the timesheet at any session, and the drivers from other teams are able to pull better times on same tyre compounds, and Lewis even went on C5 today, yet Checo and Carlos beat him by quiet a bit?! 4. McLaren were very omnious, like the car looks good and is pulling good timings, but Idk, the fact that they only topped one timesheet, despite lando and oscar being two very good drivers, Idk. 5. ZAK BROWN YOU SHOULD BE SCARED, RB ARE COMING FOR YOU (no more context the RB looks good and Yuki and Daniel were extremely impressive) and 6. Adrian Newey is the GOAT nothing to add your honor.

Of course this is just by watching some of the testing (I watched all day 1, about 3/4 of day 3 and none of day 2) and this is just by timesheets and twitter. I’ll still try to analyse the data further (trying to work in F1 as an engineer and I’m hoping to convince the teams with any of that) and of course, race week is just around the corner, so We Shall See……

Welp... after doing some calculations with the f2p challenge gang, I realized they were 10 fates short of the 240 "worst case scenario" weapon banner amount, if I converted dust to fates. Redhorn Thresher has been on the wishlist for their C6 Noelle for quite a while, and while I want Neuvillette and Baizhu cons... this particular banner combination may never rerun and Chiori's sword is now Albedo's BIS. So... Venti bless us, here we go.

50 wishes in, all the luck for this account arrived: my second double-5-star result in the history of playing Genshin Impact. The EU not-really-low-spenders-anymore actually got the first one yesterday but I'd forgotten to screenshot it. (They R4'd Chiori's sword for their C6 Albedo and R4'd Noelle a Thresher in the process because they have insane luck and I had top-up bonuses still so it was time to spoil them.) Wow. Uh, I'll take it! And maybe Neuvie can get a con once his banner reruns or I'll just forward the stash to Baizhu if there's a Liyue legacy banner sooner than later because his C1 is kind of a big priority. Hmm!

Pulled for Neuvillette on the first few hours his banner came out, and won my 50/50, got him in 80 pulls! (Was pulling for him in my tuition class, me and my bff screamed so hard and lowkey cried in front of our tutor, and he was so confused lmao!) Unfortunately it's only C1 Neuvillette, cause I gotta save the rest for Natlan, I'm already so hyped up even though there're still 5 months before Natlan's release! ૮꒰⸝⸝>////<⸝⸝꒱ა

So let me tell yall, yesterday night were some of my best VERY BEST pulls ever, so I was saving for wanderer, I need another good hypercarry dps and well I like wanderer so yeah I want him BUT...

As all know I'm Neuvi main since day 1™ so when I saw he was coming back I knew I needed to get his C1 and weapon, and for kazuha to come along too made me sad but I said well, I'm pulling for that weapon banner so maybe just maybe I get to have both their best in slots.. and well... I GOT IT ALL!!!!

I knew I was getting the constellation easily since I had guaranteed and literally 90 pity, but with the weapon banner???? I got both on 20 - 30 pulls each, won both 50/50s, and now I have a C1 Neuvi with his signature weapon and a hella strong C0 Kazuha with his best in slot weapon, I almost got all the stars on spiral abyss for the first time ever 🤩🤩

Migraine Madness & Wriothesley Pulls on Genshin (Blog) (PhoenixWrites)

Yesterday was quite the adventure for me. At least, near the end of the day. Here I am, thinking that the rest of the day is going to be chill. Then, a major migraine hits me right before I leave work. Let me tell you, migraines are just the worst while driving. This is especially prevalent at night where I had to experience a truck riding behind me with his blaring high-beam lights.

Not to mention, this migraine made me want to puke. This was the dizzy and nauseous kind of migraine. Probably from stress. Probably from me wanting to leave work. Well, probably also because I wanted to pull for the new Genshin character 😅. Oh, Wriothesley. Wriothesley. Don't even get me started on my next fictional character fixation.

I just wanted to go home and pull for him. Luckily, I did. Eventually. Well, after vomiting up a storm. That part wasn't fun. That was how bad that migraine was. Truthfully, I haven't had a stress migraine like that in a long while. Before that was a migraine caused by my shifting teeth from braces, which also wasn't fun.

Weirdly enough, I came home to my mother also experiences similar symptoms. It was if we both caught something. Whether it was the universe giving us a message or coincidental is up to debate. To conclude, life does happen. But also, Wriothesley pulls on Genshin? Yeah, let me talk about that.

For one, love this character. Not going into detail, but love this character. I already wrote tons of short stories related to him and my new character I wrote specifically for Genshin. Anyway, with a waning migraine I voice chatted with some online friends and screen shared my pulls.

Originally, I was going to do my pulls with the whole Discord community server I'm a part of with friends. But then I changed my mind and decided to just do it with my two besties because I was already drained from social interactions (if the migraine was not an obvious indication).

As for pulling Wriothesley, it went better than I imagined. In total I had 120 intertwined. I got C0 in under 20 pulls (which I was not guaranteed because of Alhaitham). Then I won the 50/50 again after pulling over 60, getting C1 Wriothesley and C0 Dehya in the same pull (first image). I was in complete disbelief. I swear, HoYoverse gave me pity after the shitty evening I had. Unrelated note, I'm also in love with his splash art (second image).

Needless to say, my mood was greatly improved afterwards. Had a couple of laughs with my friends too. If anyone plays Genshin or is interested in playing, my UID is located on my Carrd (also in the screenshots of my pulls of course). I'd love to gush over Wriothesley lol. Anyway, I know this kind of post isn't something I do. But I do hope to do more blog-type posts. Knowing me, I'll probably forget to do more.

I was doing such a good job in saving wishes for when my husband would get his re-run (and yes I am aware Childe's re-run won't be anytime soon but I wanted to stack wishes so if his banner would come I could pull some cons too).

But after doing the Heizou trials and having a weak spot for Thoma and my friends all pulling for Kazuha or Klee, they eventually said I should pull on Kazuha banner.

So I was like, okay why not I'll be building pity then as I already lost my 50/50 to Diluc on Xiao's banner so normally my next 5* should be the char featured on the banner and my pity was on 4 anyways, so I knew Kazuha wouldn't be coming home again.

But so I had 31 wishes to use, and I got Ningguan(not a fan of her so I wasn't happy with C1 Ningguan) 2nd pull brought Thoma home so I was very happy! And 3rd ten pull brought Heizou home! And I am trying to level up Heizou now, I love his voicelines too! (His teapot voicelines are kinda funny, had to test it out.)

I also pulled a 4* weapon that is perfect for Kaeya so I was pretty lucky today. (But yesterday I was unlucky as I fell off the stairs. Maybe that gave me the luck I needed? Maybe I should fall off the stairs more xD jk)

I want to try and pull some Heizou cons if possible but I also don't want to get too much pity as I am not planning to wish on other banners unless it's Childe's. (I have dedication.)

But I got my detective smol boi Heizou and my sweet housekeeper Thoma now so I am glad my friends told me to do some pulls. ♡

And now I lowkey want to add Heizou to my masterlist not like I have alot of drafts that needs to be finished but oh well xD

I’ve just watched a couple of the TPs post race reactions, as well as saw the strategies that the teams used and we can conclude a couple of things from it:

The Mercedes power unit had quiet a noticeable presence today, especially with Williams, who fun fact, also take a lot of the legal components that they are allowed from Mercedes, according to James Vowles (Zak Brown, where did you dip to now). Alex and Logan both had the pace, and could have been in points today. But the power units on both the cars, in addition to Logan’s steering wheel caused them the race. But the issues were not only in the Williams, Mercedes themselves had issues, with the batteries not working properly or dying. Mercedes, what is wrong with the power units after securing multiple multi year contracts?

You can take the man out of Ferrari but not the Ferrari out of the man (Laurent Mekies I’m looking at you). The way RB handled today’s race was actually shit. Again this team was close to points, even closer than the Williams with Yuki P11. But the way they handled the race, and especially in those last few laps, just proves that Laurent still doesn’t have the handles of how Red Bull teams work, he’s, you could say, still stuck in the Ferrari haze. The car is actually good, which we saw in testing and the data, but the team handling was just shit today, and with this, Red Bull could overlook both of them, even drop one of the 2, for Liam, who was promised (maybe even signed?) a seat for 2025.

Nico is absolutely unlucky, and that is a ghost that is hunting him down. Man had a good start, but that collision with Lance cost him his race, which he could have finished in the point. Also, that Haas has pace, it’s not so bad. Let’s see if the absence of Guenther and the presence of a more technical TP is going to impact the team.

Zhou is impressive. He gained quiet a lot, with gaining 6 places and the car is not that great. I did not know his game.

Ferrari pulled a Ferrari. That’s all that could be said. Charles was very confident yesterday. He even was visibly very upset with the fact that he got P2, to today. Like, yes we don’t know if there was something, but fucking it up to the extent that the car is dangerous to even stop. This man just signed a fucking multi year contract, don’t make him regret it.

And finally, we now understand Red Bull’s runs. The runs that were only (or mainly) on C1, C2 and C3 only. They were able to properly visualize the race. And the fact that we saw how everyone in Red Bull expected the car to be slower shows that they have cooked (Adrain Newey, looks like you did it again). And the fact that these runs of Free Practices and Testing showed correct data of this track, not really focusing on topping the time sheets or any of that shit. They put their heads down and focused on the time sheets that mattered, focusing one race at a time, as well as visualize how the car is going to be and how it will work and react, gathering the data needed for checking the car (in football terms: partido a partido).

So yeah, these are kind of my initial post race analysis. Still want to geek more, but I guess this is enough for now?

The way VCARB fucked Yuki over by forcing him to let Daniel overtake and proceeding to not even being able to overtake the fucking Haas in front of him is absolutely appalling. I know Yuki has some temper issues he definitely needs to work on when he's in the car, but I fully support his anger this time. The move was completely uncalled for, and VCARB desperately need to realize that they can't put their eggs in the wrong basket. No matter what his die-hard fans say, Daniel is not the future of F1 and Red Bull.

With the exception of Max pulling a very Max race and being superior to the rest of the grid, my favorite part of yesterday's race was definitely Zhou. He did so well, and it was such a pleasure to see him finish P11. I really hope this season will be good for him because I so desperately want him to succeed.

Ferrari being Ferrari was, sadly, not even remotely surprising. But, it's only the first race of the season and Charles still being able to drag that broken fucking car to P4 is impressive as hell.

Red Bull has handled testing and the first race weekend masterfully, and their 1-2 finish yesterday was truly deserved. I have a feeling this season will be a good one for them, even if their domination might not be quite as extreme.

oh yes! let's speak about the harbingers!! the ones that shocked me the most when i saw all of them were arlecchino and sandrone - not because of their design or anything, but because both their names and the characters they're associated to are well, distinctly males. not that i mind the extra female harbingers (i think their design look cool!!) but it was very funny to me and my italian friends bc a girl named sandrone is like the equivalent of if you met a cute lil american girl named like, Big Jeff (the -one in sandrone is actually like a particle you add at the end of certain words to mean they're big lol)

as for my personal favourites... while i absolutely adore the restyling of dottore (he looks so hot omg ;;;) my personal favourite has to be pantalone? which is very funny to me again because he's all hot and refined and his name literally means pants lol

also speaking of recent genshin crushes ;;;;; heizou ;;;;;; please i want to date him i've played all his hangouts yesterday and i fell for him so hard (plus on my way to c1 kazuha i got him c5 and he's very strong!!)

2. you actually got the dynamic i imagined super correct ahah!! in that story diluc tried so hard not to banter too much with kaeya when in front of the kids and kaeya just riled him up even more bc he thought it was funny (also the kids LOVED the drama ahah)

i do think you get the characterisation of scara real well so i don't think you should worry about that :33 also i too don't remember which fic it was that i was referencing to in that specific ask but they were both real good ahah

2. I think I would love to have you as a friend in person, you sound so fun I love dramatic people and I also love people who have good humour, and my favourite colour is blue too !! Mainly a nice soft pastel blue :,) so more icy coloured (that test did say I was Chongyun, it makes sense that you would be Xingqui)

2.1. I’ve never really seen myself as perfect in any way, nor did I think about the fact that Albedo really does have it programmed in him to be utmost perfection, and having a ‘flaw’ on his neck is the only real way for him to be human so he’s not too perfect that it’s uncanny. Thank you for calling me that, because that really does mean a lot to me. I’m not good at receiving compliments so I always sound dry when I get one, but truthfully I think about those words every time I doubt myself or feel bad. Thank you :,) (also our vibes are pretty similar, I am rather soft sometimes and like to be away from people just so I can focus and be happy by myself. We also both like being around snow so we are pretty similar <3)

3. It’s definitely become a thing now, I’ve had two comfort fics in the last week published and I seem to write better when I’m upset. Although I did take a quiz once and it said I write out of alienation. It’s actually quite accurate, I write when I feel miserable or lonely or inspired. It helps. Sometimes anyway, if I’m not too critical of it when it comes out. “Ugh,” she moaned.

The little bluebird had been waiting in that bush since dawn. She’d already had to turn away some blond guy with a mustache who tried to ‘free’ her (after subjecting her to his long-winded blather about joining the circus to buy a ring). Her boredom was getting irritated. Those boys should’ve been there by now.

Frowning (as well as a beak would allow), she muttered, “Honestly, if they got themselves killed on the way out, I’m gonna be mad for wasting a morning.”

Well, there was nothing else to do. So Beatrice let her mind wander a little. Not back, of course, where it both longed and dreaded to go, but around in the recent. She met the boys in the afternoon yesterday, wasn’t it? Maybe evening. It was dark in that part of the woods, it was hard to tell. But even if they followed the path, and didn’t get eaten or killed or something, they probably stopped somewhere for the night eventually. They might’ve slept in. And if they were anything like her brothers…

Oh, cripes, I’m gonna be here all day.

It seemed like an hour at least before anything happened. In actuality, it was about another fifteen minutes. The sun had barely inched further up the sky before, at last, she heard something coming up the road toward her hiding spot.

About time. She shifted back properly into place, rehearsed her plan once over in her mind, then locked her eyes on the bit of road she could see, watching for the boys. Hopefully, I can get the attention of just one. She only needs one, right?

Beatrice heard the sound of raspberries approaching. She rolled her eyes.

Probably THAT one. Lucky me.

She waited as the noises came closer. It was definitely the little boy making them. Soon enough, she heard the annoying older kid too, muttering to himself. “We’ve been walking a long time. Shouldn’t we have reached that town by now?”

Then came a sound that made her little bird heart jolt: a third voice.

“Patience, boy. It’s not far off now.”

Beatrice’s beak dropped. Seriously?! That creepy old forester came WITH them? I thought for sure he scared them off yesterday! Jeepers, how could a bluebird get such rotten luck?

Her incredulous thoughts shushed themselves. Shadows passed before her bush, and Beatrice froze, though she wanted to shrink back.

“Once we arrive,” continued the unwelcome voice, somewhere in the shadow beyond, “it won’t be long before you boys are on your way home. Of that, I have no doubt.”

Oh great, she groaned in thought, now they have plans too.

The shadows moved. A flash of grey passed before the opening in the leaves, then one of blue. The teenaged voice went with it.

“So—so who is this person you’re taking us to? A-and how do you know they’ll actually be able to get us out of here?”

Okay, not complete trust in the guy. That helps.

“Wirt!” reprimanded the younger voice, as green flickered past the opening. “Haven’t you been listening to anything I’ve been saying? For the last couple of hours, I’ve been saying—”

And the raspberries took up again.

“Well, that settles it. I’m gonna walk up ten feet ahead of you.” One pair of footsteps hurried on ahead. A heavier pair followed, briefly and sharply. Soon, both stopped.

“You most certainly will not!” said the old voice, a little further off now. “In these lands, you’d be a fool to let a little child like your brother out of sight.”

“But according to you, we’re almost there anyway! Why can’t he just—”

Beatrice stopped listening to the words. She didn’t need those. All she needed was the knowledge that they were both distracted, arguing up ahead, and that the smallest of the three shadows was standing still, just within her line of sight.

Perfect.

“Help!” she chirped out, not too loudly.

The little silhouette shifted. “Huh?”

“I’m stuck!”

The shadow swiveled once or twice. Then, “Did you hear that, Wirt Jr.? Let’s go this way!” There was a croak (reminding her that he was talking to his frog, not another person), and then the sound of pattering footsteps on the dirt. “Hello?” he called, not yet spotting her.

Beatrice arrayed herself like a perfect damsel in distress in the vines, then whispered loud. “Hey, you!”

“Who, me?” He turned toward the bush, at least.

She raised her voice just a little, hoping it wouldn’t attract the attention of either of the other two. “Yeah, you!”

The silhouette became a face. It brightened cheerily. “Oh! Hello!”

“It’s you again!” gasped Beatrice, feigning surprise, and then struggle. “I’m stuck. Help me out of here, and I’ll owe you a favour!”

Excitement widened his eyes. “Whoa, I get a wish?”

“No-no-no,” she corrected as quickly as possible—if he thought she could do that, he’d never follow her if she didn’t deliver. “Not a wish. I’m not magical.” Cheese and crackers, how do enchanted creature guides talk in stories? “I’ll just do you a good turn.”

“Can you turn me into a tiger?”

Wrong ‘turn’. “Uh, no, I just said, I’m not magical.”

“It doesn’t have to be a magical tiger.”

Beatrice resisted the urge to growl. Six-year-olds were every bit as bad as she remembered.

Just as she was about to speak again, another voice rumbled overhead. She couldn’t help a gasp bolting out. “You mustn’t wander off, little one. Whatever your brother may seem to think, the two of you must stick together.”

Thanks for the tip, she muttered in sarcastic thought. Really helping my chances here. At least now I know they’re related.

“Unless, apparently, you wanna talk to a bush,” murmured… what did the kid call him? Walt? Something weird. It didn’t matter.

“I’m not talking to a bush, I’m gettin’ a wish!” And, with one hand, the kid reached in to pull Beatrice free.

She avoided his grabby fingers and slipped out of the vines. Then, she flew up in the air above their heads. All of their heads—even if he was more bark than bite (as he appeared to be, from what she’d seen of him in the past), she preferred to be out of reach of the old woodsman. Walt stared up in bewilderment.

“Thanks!” she declared chipperly, fixing her eyes on his brother (who evidently was wearing a teapot on his head). “I owe you boys a favour!”

The old man did the same, tilting his head as he looked down on the boy. “That was good of you, little fellow. Setting the poor creature free.”

“Seriously?” Walt again, deadpan. “That’s what stands out about all this? Not the magical talking bird?”

“She’s not magic,” corrected his brother, “she just gives you wishes.”

Ugh, at least he got the ‘not magic’ part. “Not wishes.” Beatrice then cleared her throat, hoping to get back to the subject at hand. “So, you two are lost kids with no purpose in life, right?”

“Uh-huh!”

Walt frowned in silence.

However, before she could say another word, the Woodsman spoke up. “Getting home is their purpose. I offered to help them accomplish it, and I’ve guided them from the mill stream,” (she covered up a startled shiver with a flap of her wings), “to here.”

“And he saved us from a bad dog!” declared the kid. “And him and Wirt made a door!”

“Uh-huh, uh-huh,” urged Beatrice, a little impatient, then added, “So how does that help you guys get home?”

“There’s a town,” the woodsman explained, “not far off. I know someone there, someone who—”

“But are you so sure this friend of yours can help? From what I’ve heard, it’s pretty tricky business leaving this place.” She braced herself, half-expecting the old woodsman to get all aggravated at her interruption. He was gruff enough.

But he did no such thing. As he looked at her, his eyes were certain as stone. “Little bluebird, if I trust any in this land, it is him. He will know.”

Beatrice opened her beak. Then she shut it again. Darn it, he’s too sure to argue with. There’s no way I could talk him into letting them come with me.

He thumbed his hat brim politely, then turned back to the boys. “Well, come along. We must get you safely home.” The forester plodded on down the path.

Walt shuffled after him, tugging at his brother’s arm with an eye roll. “Let’s go, Greg.”

The boy, whose name was apparently Greg, tugged right back. “But what about my wish?” he protested, whining slightly.

Wait, that’s perfect! “Yes, exactly!” Beatrice fluttered down closer to the brothers. “I still owe you guys a favour!”

“Uh, thanks, bird,” answered Walt, who was getting more annoying by the syllable, “but you can leave. We’re good.”

She sighed irritably. “I can’t leave, I’m honor-bound to help you. It’s the…” What’s a good excuse? “…bluebird rules.” That was dumb. But, hopefully, so are they.

“Oh, you gotta be kidding. Now we have to hang out with a talking bird in Magic Land too? What’s next, are we gonna get stuck with a creepy doll or something?”

“Yeah!” declared Greg, with a lot more excitement than he probably should’ve.

Before Beatrice could roll her eyes, she was startled by motion: the old woodsman, stepping up to face her. For a moment, that was all he did, just study her. She didn’t like it in the least—it felt too much like he might recognize her. But she stared right back.

“No,” he sighed. Then, to her relief, he went on with, “No, a bluebird has her honour.” He nodded to her. “If you are bound to help them, you may come with us.”

“Uh, thanks,” she replied, without much gratitude behind it.

The man continued on his way. Though Walt glanced at her with a grunt of distaste, he soon followed. Greg marched after them, waving Beatrice over.

“Don’t worry, pretty bird,” he encouraged cheerfully, “I’ll think of my wish later.”

“Great.” And Beatrice flapped on after the trio, grimacing.

At least he let me tag along, she grudgingly reminded herself, though the implications of ‘tagalong’ only irritated her more. And he doesn’t suspect anything yet. That’s something.

Ahead of her, Greg took the frog down from its spot atop his teapot hat. He laughed and held up his pet. “Now you try it, Wirt Jr.!” And he poked the frog’s face with its own fingers, instructing it on the making of raspberries. Walt… or maybe it was Wirt… rolled his eyes again.

The woodsman glanced over his shoulder, and said nothing.

But, if I wanna get either one of these kids to Adelaide’s, it looks like I’m gonna have to get them away from HIM first. Her beak tried to frown again. And with his attitude, that doesn’t seem like it’ll be easy.

She flew past a sign, declaring “Pottsfield: 1 Mile”.

This is just not my day.
