Larger Than Life : Performances
Tumblr media
~
Tumblr media
The entire ride to the stage was pretty quiet. Everyone to focused on their talents and hoping their planning the day before was good enough to get a fan votes to stay. Bow Wow greeted us when we were moved off the bus and into a building. The place was dark, the only light coming from a large stage with a pulsating x on it. In front of the stage was a few rows of seating for an audience as well as a table for what I assumed was judges. He stood on the stage with a big smile. We all had our hands full, each hold costumes, props or anything we needed for our performance which made him laugh.
"You all look like your ready to put on a great show." He said and we all enthusiastically - yet nervously - replied. "Okay so I want to tell you all a few things. This challenge is for you to prove to the fans back at home that you are not here for nothing and you all are serious about your futures in the business. The people with the lowest fan votes and score will be up for elimination."
"Score?" William asked.
"Thats my second point. You all will be judge today based on your a few parameters. Skill and Technique, which means how goof you are at the talent you chose to show us. Two, Stage Presence: This is all about your ability to command the stage and make us give you our full attention. Creativity and Originality basically whether the performance has unique and innovative elements that set it apart from others. Artistry: why you chose this particular thing and its about us feeling your connection to it. Entertainment Value is this enjoyable for us. Timing and Pacing Looking at the flow and timing of the performance we don't want it to drag on. Overall Impression Considering the overall impact and memorability of the performance. and finally" He placed his hands on his chest. "I will not be judging you, instead I would like you to meet your judges." He turned and we cheered as the bright face of Kelly Clarkson came on stage and waved at us. "She got her start like some of you will, on a reality show. Please Wellcome grammy award winning singer, winner of American idol and all around lovely person Kelly Clarkson."
"Hi guys!" She smiled wide "I know what you guys are feeling, I was in your shoes once too and I cannot wait to see what you all can do."
"Our second judge has been running is own comedy show for a while now, but is also a former child star as well as married to the gorgeous Mariah Carey, Nick Canon!" He came on stage waving his hand.
"I really can't wait to see all of this. I have been watching the show and I'm not going to lie I am hooked! so I am ready!"
"And last but not least our third judge is a model, actress and all around beauty Megan Fox!"
She walks on stage and Ian whistles. She laughs "Thank you everyone. Just know that I am so excited to see everyone really shine today!"
"Okay now that you know our judges. We will be picking our order at random so please finish getting ready, we will be starting in a half an hour."

Reality Check
Hey Loves, today I'm going to do something a tiny bit out of the ordinary for me and my writing. What could that be you may possibly be wandering well I'll tell you. You may have guessed by the post starter that we're going to talk about something I don't typically talk about. It's something I don't know this is really gonna get kinda mucky if I try to hard to put into words why I don't talk about it. So kinda bare with me while I try to put into words something that's sorta been on my mind a while.
To start with I have mentioned it a few times and I do talk about it ocaisionally but typically I um for lack of a better word I despise this topic and struggle a lot with it, so I guess it's the elephant in the room all the time for me. I know I keep saying "it" well I suppose it's time to give the "it" it's well technically their names. Yes names plural.
1.               Dysautonomia Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (there's many forms of dysautonomia)
2.               Sjogren's Syndrome
3.               Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility type)
4.               Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
Big names right? They changed my whole world. I have always had issues, allergies, fatigue, GI problems. Then when I turned 12 I was extremely sick all the time, thinking maybe my gallbladder was the problem they took it out; it did help a little for about a year and a half until a little while after I turned 13. Um the nausea came back with friends after an extreme allergic reaction to an antibiotic not only had I taken a lot through my life but I had just finished a week of it before the reaction, technically we don't know which antibiotic I had the reaction to because I was on a combination but we ended up marking them both. Anyways back to nausea and it's friends; dizziness, chronic fatigue (never actually diagnosed though), high blood pressure, swelling and that doesn't even scratch the surface of all of it. Um I was thirteen and had my whole life planned out and had this idea in my mind of who I was supposed to be and who I was going to be and it it crashed and burned very easily.
Above in the list I wrote them in the order they were diagnosed and see I was one of the blessed ones to be diagnosed pretty quickly. I've always had the mindset of it's not that big of a deal there's people in the world who have it a lot worse than me. Like in a way it's sometimes unhealthy because I tend to box everything of my life, emotional, physical, pretty much any feeling I box it up and pretend it doesn't exist. I don't like talking about my health, I don't like talking about things I've been through and I struggle with acknowledging the feelings I harbor towards God, it's difficult.
I guess I should probably start with the feelings harbored toward God part considering it kinda looks bad. For starters I don't claim to be perfect or a role model in fact I am probably the worst role model ever in my opinion. Secondly these illnesses all of them we can only manage symptoms there is no cure and it's not like it has a schedule of when it's worse, I never know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day. I feel wronged, my whole teenage existence is has been doctors, sleep, meds, fighting about decisions with my parents, isolating myself and trying to learn to live with these illnesses. I mean how do you NOT feel wronged when you miss out on a whole year of your life because you slept it AWAY!?! How do you not feel wronged when you were an A+ student then all of a sudden not? You think like why? Like what did I do? Then to top it off it's russian roulette with doctors on if you get a good one or not. You get told it's in your head or it's your weight or something else and hey guys I'm already on the edge here ready to jump. All I really wanted to know was why?
Of course there the other ways it affected me too. I have always been a very neat and clean person, I mean this both personal hygiene wise and my personal space like my room. See this is the part that's really difficult for me especially to talk about. I am not a vain person, I don't think that highly of myself but at the same time I've always had extreme self care standards, shower daily, shave my legs weekly, wash my face at least twice a week, paint my nails at least once a month, go on walks daily, things like that. Uh when the symptoms got worse these things became more draining and harder to do. When you are chronically ill everything takes more energy than it would for a healthy person which is where this thing called the "Spoon Theory" came from. A great example would be brushing your hair right? If you're sleeping days in a row your hair gets tangled and um at first I wanted desperately to keep something that made me feel like my old self my healthy self. I was clinging to life so to speak. So I tormented myself and my old roommate and my mom with horribly tangled hair for months until I think the first time I wanted a change. Though I have talked a little about my illnesses with people honestly I don't think I have ever had an in-depth conversation about the full effects they've had on my body and mind as well as my soul. The full effects.
The reality of my life is 8-10 pills a night, sometimes I can't shower, sometimes I can't clean my room which is heck on my mental because when I got worse my  need for cleanliness got a million times worse than it originally was, a four times a day medication that I struggle to remember, bloodwork often, brain fog always, no more walks everyday because I have to choose. Ultimately I quit school because it was a toss up on which was more important, my school or my physical therapy. Physical therapy is, feels hopeless because the more you do it helps but in the process it hurts and it sucks, your symptoms get worse and you have to find the delicate balance of if you are feeling growing pains so to speak or if you pushed to far. When you're sleeping for days on end you don't really care what you look like, what you smell like or what anyone thinks you're likely going back to bed after you go to the bathroom. Except you do care because in the back of your mind you see the legs you haven't shaved in over a month, you see the hair so tangled that it is standing up on your head, you see the nail polish all messed up, you see the "disaster" in the mirror. It's sitting in the back of my mind constantly how gross I am during these times. But I see someone else going through it and feeling that way about themselves and I can't stand for them to feel that way, it hurts me that their hurting like that. Finding the balance is so unbelievably hard because it can shift at even the slightest change. You lose who you were and the sooner you accept that the better. I am not saying this an easy thing to do, but once you get that it's a process specifically a grieving process then you can begin to heal and find your new self.
Honestly I think that covers it currently and this will likely be a continued conversation because this definitely a topic that I feel should be more present in my life and my blogs.

On Ao3 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Prince Roman was kind and fair to all who knew him. It was uncanny to his citizens how Disney their prince was. He glowed in all ways–always smiling, exceedingly handsome, eyes gleaming with pride.
He was also a bachelor, sworn to it almost like a monk. He loved to flirt and would dance with many a handsome man; Roman was no stranger to romance and collected kisses like precious stones. He was not one for staying with one person, sweetly turning down those who came back, wanted more. There was guilt in his eyes, but the prince never wavered.
He was determined to rule on his own, with only advisors to lean on and citizens to give his love. This was something that had never happened before, but their kingdom had also never had a prince like Roman before.
Since the day their prince had been crowned heir to the throne by the childless king and queen, things had been very different in their kingdom. Royalty did not have to be blood, and a king did not need a queen, or any spouse at all.
Roman did not want to marry. And no one would have batted an eye at this–but the prince did not seem to want anything at all. Full of love, he had no one to give it. Friendly, but lacked friends. It was a constant source of gossip around the castle–why their beloved prince insisted on being alone.
But the prince knew what he was doing. Roman knew well the dangers of growing close to others.
He didn’t regret the decision he made. As prince, he could make a difference; he had somewhere he belonged. A mother and father who cared. Citizens he adored, and adored him in turn. People to care for, to fight for. Roman now had more than he ever hoped in his once hopeless life.
Most importantly, Roman had his brother back. That was worth more than anything Roman could have gained or given. Worth more than his very life.
So, no. He didn’t regret it. If he had the choice, he’d always go back and face those wild eyes, those scales and wicked lies for the chance to have this.
Whoever he’d meant to love one day would have to find someone else.
-/-
“How are you today, Remus?“
Remus hummed. Roman knew that translated to ‘not very well.’
“Okay,” he said calmly. He moved over into the brightly lit room to where his brother sat at the window. Roman sat across from Remus and said nothing else. Today wasn’t a talking day.
So Roman sat and let his nerves calm, his mind wander like his brother’s must have been. He couldn’t imagine what sort of things Remus saw–flashbacks from the hills and the caves and the fear. Roman grew restless, and he couldn’t imagine how Remus did it for days on end, jolted into another reality that existed in his head, in the past.
He passed a lot of his days like this, sitting quietly by his brother’s side. Probably not enough though. Never enough to help. But it was hard to balance his time now that he was prince, always something more to do, something he could do to help, to plan, to sign, to consider. It was a lot.
But at least they weren’t terrified every day would be their last.
At least Remus was with him again, safe.
“I miss Dee,” Remus surprised Roman by speaking up. Roman looked over, but his brother hadn’t moved. His gaze was towards the hills.
There was nothing Roman could say to that. He stood reluctantly, taking a glance towards the horizon himself, before stepping back. “Sorry I can’t stay very long today.” It had only been twenty minutes Roman noted by the clock on the mantle, but Remus didn’t seem phased. “I’ll come eat dinner with you tonight, though,” Roman offered. Still, nothing. “Alright. Bye, Remus.”
Roman stepped out, careful to not make any loud noises as he shut the door. Days like this were the reason Remus’ room was far away from the hustle and bustle of the castle. The noise was too much for him. There were still plenty of people around to attend to him though, to make sure he didn’t get up to too much trouble during the times he was lucid.
That didn’t stop Roman from stepping away and quietly knocking his head on the opposite wall. Forehead supporting him, Roman sighed, trying to piece himself back together. Once he had built himself up, able to give a winning smile and a confident gait, Roman picked himself up and squared his shoulders.
A prince had very little time to spare already, and he had used what he had to visit with his brother.
Winding through the halls, Roman made his way back to the front study, where his advisor and a handful of guards waited. When he opened the doors, he shot them all his winning smile. “Are we all ready?”
It took them no time at all to get to town, then just a little further to the square, which was under construction. It was a smaller project, but one that Roman loved: a park, with room for community gardening, a playground with outdoor instruments, a couple pieces of exercise equipment, and a small stage for community theater.
It was important to him, but it was something he rarely had the time to see into fruition. There was more pressing matters in the kingdom that Roman had to oversee.: discussions to meditate, economic policies to study, corruption to dig into. When Roman became a prince, he’d known it would be a tough job, but he had never expected what seemed like such a nice kingdom on the outside to have so much else on the inside.
It was exhausting, but this park was where Roman hoped to make a positive influence. He barely had the time for it, but he made the time for it. It was usually what kept him awake at night in his office, going over budgets and blueprints.
He hadn’t been to the site for a month.
When the carriage pulled up, Roman jumped out, guards already on his tail. He didn’t wait for them, though, striding straight towards the ring of architects and construction crew at one side. A quick glance around told Roman they were making decent headway on the tiny amphitheater.
Looking back, he took stock in what he would be dealing with. The kind architect was there, so he’d have to do his best to steer clear. Roman was a sucker for nice guys. The smart one was there too. Damn it; double the threat.
“Hello, Shelby, Logan, David, Patton, Christie,” he greeted the ones he knew by name. “How is everything going?”
Shelby, the team leader, stepped forward, giving a kind smile. “Moving forward at a considerable pace, my prince,” she said, and, from there, they dived in. The architects pointed to blueprints and talked about estimated times for finishing different aspects, as well as possible obstacles and needed materials. They talked for half an hour before they were talking in circles again, and Roman knew he needed to draw a line and make a retreat.
“It sounds like you all are doing splendidly and have things well under control. I would say continue forward with how you’re doing. I trust you to make the right calls.” His smile was wide, and he was beginning to feel the line of business and friendly failing.
All Roman wanted to do was share jokes with Patton. Listen to Logan tell him about the book he was reading. Even hear about Shelby’s family–though she was hardly a threat to the curse inside Roman. Still, Roman felt wrong for staying around, for getting near anyone with the danger he posed.
Roman needed to get somewhere safe. He needed just a breath of fresh air–somewhere without pretense, where he wasn’t constantly tottling between unnecessary rudeness and letting his traitorous heart do what it does and fall far too quickly.
He had always fallen fast and hard, always one for all or nothing. Never at a mere glance, no. He may be a romantic, but love at first sight simply wasn’t real. Deep longing at first sight was something Roman was prone to, though.
But Roman was careful. Never would he let an innocent soul pay for his deeds. If the price he had to pay was his love, then he would simply never fall in love.
And, since love at first sight wasn’t a thing, Roman could simply stay away from anyone he might have liked. If Logan’s smart words made him blush, if Patton’s puns made him giggle-
Off Roman went. If he didn’t stay around them, he couldn’t fall in love with them. Easy enough.
That may have been a reason Roman rarely made his way to the park construction or spent too much time at any of his projects. He cycled through advisors. He exchanged polite greetings with guards and nothing else. He was an amiable prince, who reached out to his citizens, but he couldn’t afford to be too friendly, to get attached.
He knew he could be better. Without this fear, he could be so much better. He’d be friends with everyone he knew, not acquaintances. He’d be a personal ruler, not a distant one.
He couldn’t risk the lives of his citizens though.
So, at the nearest chance, Roman ducked away. The others invited him to coffee, but he declined.
Instead, he went somewhere he’d normally never go. He marched into the library, waltzed straight up to the most infuriating person he knew.
Not even Roman was hopeless enough to fall for Virgil.
“My prince,” the librarian greeted lazily, not even standing from his slumped position across the desk. “What can I do for you today?“
He picked up a pen and scrawled across a paper, deigning to not even look Roman in the eye. Whatever pleasantness Roman had felt upon seeing a familiar, unexpectant face, soured at the blatant rudeness.
This callousness was what had sealed the deal for Roman in the first place though. The absolute zero percent chance that Roman could like, much less love, this man. Roman never thought he could hate one of his own citizens, but this guy… He was the worst.
Roman could have never fallen in love with someone so… Virgil. So condescending and sarcastic and pessimistic. Virgil brought with him a stormy cloud of hatred everywhere he went. The mere thought of being around him was deplorable.
Which made him perfect.
“I just came to see your lovely face, my chemical woe-mance,” Roman said breezily. He had taken to maliciously flirting with the library assistant. It satisfied both his need to flirt with someone and his abhorrence of the man’s face.
And tone.
And personality.
And the way he pointed out every security detail his guards had missed by walking in there.
And how he always pointed out the measures Roman was slow to take with his policies, and ones that he missed, redirecting Roman’s attention to needed areas.
And when his hair fell in his eyes because, damn it, Roman wasn’t blind.
And when he laughed at something because he wasn’t horrible all the time and those were the times Roman panicked the most because shit did he mess up by letting himself talk to Virgil so much-
And his fashion sense was also horrible, so there.
But, of course, Roman was above such things. If the gloomy broody wanted to stoop, Roman would not-
“Forget how to say your own name again?” Virgil asked, and Roman stopped in his tracks, shooting him a confused look. “Hate to break it to you, but Roman doesn’t have a W.”
Roman’s face lit up red and he straightened faster than a cat struck by lightning.
“I am your prince,” Roman said, hands curling into fists. The guards behind him didn’t react, however. By this point, they were all used to Roman and Virgil’s arguing.
They thought it was ‘banter.’ Roman often reminded them it was a verbal battle of wits. They asked why he kept coming back.
He never answered that.
“I don’t need reminding every time you’re here, my prince,” Virgil rolled his eyes. It was ironic how the honorific fit in his mouth, like a bad taste.
“Don’t call me that,” Roman snapped. Virgil raised a brow.
“What do you expect me to call you then?” he asked. “Your excellency? Your highness? General pain in my ass?”
“You make all of those sound like ‘general pain in my ass.’” Roman shot back with fire.
“Then what?” Virgil crossed his arms.
Roman spoke without thinking. “My name.”
One of the guards coughed behind him. Virgil looked stunned.
“You want me to call you…” he said, and all anger had dissipated. If Roman had known this was all it would take to knock Virgil off his high horse, he would have done it so much sooner.
“Yes,” Roman said, feeling awfully proud of himself. “Call me Roman.”
Another cough behind him. What was it with the guards today? He hoped no one was coming down with anything.
“Roman?” Virgil asked, and it was said quickly, like he was still shocked at everything going on. This, however, is where Roman realized his mistake.
His name on Virgil’s tongue did not, in fact, sound like ‘general pain in my ass.‘
His name sounded….
Softer.
Sweeter.
Like a melody he’d never heard,
And one he’d kill to hear again.
Roman was suddenly hit with a sadness so unmistakable it was as if it had always lived in him. Something that felt lonely, something that felt like… goodbye.
Goodbye to this. Goodbye to the only person he had left that saw him as something that wasn’t a prince, or a stranger.
Oh gods, not Virgil too.
Roman straightened up, clearing his throat suddenly. “Um, yes?” he said, voice coming out squeaky. He cleared it again. “I mean, yes. Yes. Of course. If you’re going to insist on butchering everything else…”
“Might as well butcher the real thing?” Virgil asked, and he finally broke out of his shock to snicker. Roman’s heart thumped.
Fuck.
“Yeah, well. I actually have to go now, but it was nice seeing you and-”
“Nice seeing me?” Virgil asked, thrown off guard by Roman’s sudden departure. Roman hadn’t been there five minutes, but he had to get out of there.
“As ever. Terrible to see you as always, hot topic, and, if you’d just excuse me-” Roman was backing away, making his way to the door. He assumed the guards would follow.
“Hot topic…” Virgil seemed to be asking, but Roman didn’t give an answer.
“See ya!” were his final words before he ducked out.
Roman paid no mind to the knowing glances his guards shared behind him as he rushed off to the carriage.
He could only think of the heart in his chest.
And the noose it could lasso around Virgil.
-/-
“It’s not Virgil, right?” Roman asked pacing around his brother’s room. “Anyone but Virgil, surely.”
Remus continued to look out the window, mind probably elsewhere.
“It wouldn’t be. Virgil is… Virgil.” Roman shook his head. “He’s Virgil.”
“Virgil?” Remus spoke up, but he didn’t look at Roman. Maybe he was present, just a bit.
Roman nodded, pacing again to the other side of the room. “I can’t see him again. That’s it. It’s too dangerous. Even if there’s absolutely no way I’d fall for that guy, I can’t risk it.”
Remus turned Roman’s way, eyes looking troubled. Roman’s mind was spinning out of control.
“But it couldn’t be Virgil. I wouldn’t fall for him. I can still talk to him. It’ll be fine, right?”
Roman paused, thinking through his words before groaning.
“Oh my gods, I want to talk to him!” he lamented, then sat down heavily on his brother’s bed. Remus continued to watch him, looking for all the world like there was a puzzle in front of him, very close to being solved.
“Remus, what am I going to do?” Roman asked, covering his face. “I like Virgil.”
“Virgil,” Remus mumbled.
“I can’t ever see him again. This is the end. We were never even friends! He was the asshole in the library. That’s it. That’s all he’ll ever be. And, somehow, I like him. What the fuck, heart? What the actual fuck?”
“Virgil,” Remus repeated, brows furrowing. Something was there, but Roman was too distracted to consider it.
“Gosh, but I can see it now. He’s got the warmest brown eyes to go with his shit personality. He’s so sarcastic. He actually makes me laugh. How dare he?! How dare he make me like him and all his assholeness?”
Roman stood from the bed. One look Remus’ way and he immediately regretted everything.
“Rem? What’s wrong?” he rushed to his brother, who had the most distressed look on his face, fingers sparking green. Roman folded his hands over them, not minding the slight sting. It was better than someone walking in and seeing the magic. “Remus?” Roman asked again, kneeling before his brother.
Remus blinked. Looked down at his hands and frowned. “Sorry, Ro,” he said, then looked back at the window. Whatever he’d been thinking, it was gone. Roman couldn’t help the sigh that escaped him.
One second of lucidity and Roman was glad it was gone. What kind of brother was he? Watching Remus look out the window again, lost to everything but the hills past the kingdom, Roman felt a deep sinking loss in his chest.
But, with that look that’d been on Remus’ face… how could he not be relieved?
He sighed again. Roman did that a lot in this room. He wished he could help it, for Remus’ sake.
But Remus probably didn’t hear it anyway.
“You’ve got nothing to be sorry for,” he breathed, words lost to his brother. “I’m the one who should be sorry.”
Roman retracted his hands, absently noting the singe marks across his palms. He’d wear some gloves to cover them.
“Sorry,” he repeated. The word rang in his head, begging to be said again and again, until his sins were carried off with them, somewhere far away in the wind of those words. “Sorry.”
-/-
The next time Roman visited the park, he didn’t go to the library. However, it seemed he didn’t have to.
“Thank you so much, kiddo!” Roman absently heard from Patton as he scanned over some of the construction plans. “I can’t believe I forgot this.”
Roman heard one of his guards cough, stifling what sounded suspiciously like a laugh. Funny, they usually only did that when-
“No problem, Pat,” a deep, vaguely uncomfortable sounding voice replied, and Roman shot straight up. There was another noise that was definitely a laugh this time, but he didn’t pay mind to it. His eyes shot to the interaction happening not five feet from him.
Virgil.
He was standing a bit slouched, hands stuffed into his pockets and nodding along to Patton’s excited gibbering. It was sort of adorable, how patient Virgil was, the way he hid his smile when Patton punned, how out of place he seemed to feel, but comfortable around his friend.
Roman hadn’t known Virgil and Patton were friends. That was adorable.
Okay, Roman should really stop thinking of Virgil as adorable. Soon. Now.
But his eyeshadow was slightly smudged–probably from wiping it on accident–and that was adorable too.
No. Stopping now.
Roman dipped his head back down, boring his eyes into the blueprints. He absorbed none of it, but he acted the part like a champ. Looking busy sure came handy when a prince wanted to avoid people. You couldn’t argue that a prince wasn’t doing important work.
Well, perhaps a lesser prince. But everyone knew how seriously Roman took his job (whether he lived up to expectation or not. Virgil saw past that. Virgil pointed out exactly where Roman lacked…. but he also commented on the good things too. He’d said how much safer it was to walk home lately–how the children were excited about the park–how some patrons of the library complained about the tax increases, but Virgil argued with them about the necessities of the kingdom; all the community works, roads paved, safety measures).
“Ro?” Patton asked, and, even if it weren’t for his voice and bubbly nature, Roman would have known it was him. Patton was the only one on the construction crew that had taken him up on his offer to not use ‘my prince’ every time they referred to him.
“Hm?” Roman asked, pretending to be busy. He saw Patton from the corner of his eye, dragging another person by his side–no doubt Virgil. Roman swallowed harshly.
“This is my friend Virgil. Sorry to interrupt work and all, but I try to introduce him to everyone around here. He doesn’t get around too often and-”
“Pat!” Virgil hissed beside him, and Roman couldn’t help it. He looked up.
And they locked eyes.
Virgil’s cheeks were a dull pink, furiously trying to escape the bounds of the pale foundation he’d applied. For a moment, they were suspended there, Virgil and Roman just looking at each other.
Then, Virgil looked away. “Patton, you can’t just drag me around everywhere.”
Patton, the dear, had the good grace to look sheepish. “I just thought you’d want to meet the prince is all.”
“We’ve already met,” Roman said, against the wishes of his panicked nerves. It felt like something he wanted to keep for himself, something he could hold secret and close to his chest. He forced the words out though. Surely there was no valid reason to keep it secret.
Virgil flinched as Patton whipped around to face him. “Really?!”
He shifted a bit on his feet, and Roman noticed how considerably less confident he was outside the library. Maybe it was the new space, or the unknown gazes, but it worried Roman how much smaller Virgil appeared outside his familiar walls.
While Patton excitedly talked to Virgil about this new development, Roman was able to take a second to himself. It was Roman’s first time around him knowing how he felt about Virgil–without the panic of last time, mind spinning with Do I like him? Do I like him? Do I like him? Roman could examine those feelings up close here, scrutinizing them for what they were. He definitely liked Virgil, that much was definite by then, but how much? Roman fell quickly, but, as long as he was even still a bit afloat, it was fine. Virgil was safe.
And Roman understood with relief that this was indeed the case. He wasn’t in love with Virgil. It was still frightening how easily he’d fallen in deep like with the man, but Roman could remedy the situation. It just… took a bit of… severing of their relationship. Just a dash of distancing, a pinch of avoidance and rigid politeness.
It was less than a minute that Roman had to think on this, Patton and Virgil’s conversation ending abruptly when Virgil started to get visibly overwhelmed. That worried Roman too, but it only seemed to embarrass Virgil.
“Virge? Buddy?” Patton asked, but Virgil’s red face shook back and forth.
“It’s fine, Pat. Let’s just moveonrightnow,” Virgil spoke without a lot of breath, words coming out quick. He was different outside the library, like he was constantly afraid of… something. He was jumpy, and Roman was sure that if someone were to sneak up on him right now, purposefully or not, they would be socked in the jaw.
“Yes,” Roman spoke up, seeing his opportunity. “I’m afraid I’ve actually ran out of time here, but we got a lot done here today. Great job, all of you.”
“You’re leaving?” Patton asked, looking disappointed.
And Roman realized what he’d tried to avoid for so long. Patton was cute. He was funny and kind and made Roman feel like the world had light. But Roman really had nothing to be scared of. He looked at Logan too, clever and full of passion for his work and interests, and thought the same. He’d been avoiding all the wrong people–people who could’ve been his friends.
So to Patton Roman gave a sad smile of his own. He gave his excuses–the many duties of a prince, how busy things have been lately, that he really should let them get back to work instead of hovering over their shoulders so often–he was just a prince, after all.
It all paled to the real reason, nestled deep in his chest where he hoped no one would look, see his obvious lie.
Roman couldn’t be near Virgil.
Too risky.
-/-
The thing with falling for someone–it doesn’t stop when you don’t see them.
What was the saying? Distance makes the heart grow fonder?
That saying existed because days without those you’re infatuated with just make you think about them more. And Roman, the chronic dreamer he was, could not stop thinking about Virgil. He dreamed in his sleep about pushing the hair from Virgil’s face, curling it around his ears and leaning down for a gentle kiss. He day-dreamed about Virgil in his library, slouched over his desk, waiting for patrons and passing the day in boredom.
Roman thought of his snarky quips, eyerolls, insistent gestures when he was trying to tell Roman something. Those milliseconds of a softer look that Roman would ignore, trying to convince himself he loathed Virgil, so he wouldn’t have to go away.
He realized now how too late it was.
Virgil’s laugh was stuck in his ears–Virgil’s nervous voice outside the library–Virgil’s stories of friends he’d never see again, growing up in a distant place.
And Roman hadn’t realized how much of himself he’d given as well. Virgil had been an ear to Roman’s rants, a backboard to spring off horrible ideas. Virgil could be ruthless, and Roman could be idyllic, but, somewhere in there, it actually worked. He’d told Virgil about spreading himself thin, about the demands of a prince he hadn’t expected when the king and queen had adopted him. He told him about how much he cared, cared so much, about the people of this kingdom, even while he’d only been there for three years himself.
There was so much, now that Roman considered it. And still so much he wanted to share. He’d never told Virgil about his brother–no one knew about Remus. He wasn’t fit to be in the public eye. That much scrutiny and pressure, after everything he’d been through, would destroy him.
But he found himself wanting to tell Virgil. Found that he trusted him with the information.
And he wanted to tell Virgil about where he and his brother grew up, about the night he woke up and Remus wasn’t by his side, and it took two years of searching and loneliness to find him and save him. Roman wanted to tell Virgil his favorite color was red, that his favorite stories as a kid were about knights, not princes, that he spent his free time–or what freetime he used to have–writing poetry, and he had a secret love for theater that he’d never had the opportunity to explore.
Roman felt his heart pulling pulling pulling. It wouldn’t rest, wouldn’t relinquish the hold it had over him, would not forget him- him-
Virgil.
His heart was a selfish thing. It stuck like glue to those who didn’t want it. It kept its love in a cage, never to let go.
But Roman had to stop thinking of him. It would only lead to heartbreak. It would only lead to Virgil’s doom.
That should make it easier on his heart–knowing the person it longed for was at risk for its choice–but nothing did sway it. It was up to Roman to wrangle it in, suppress, push it down down down.
A sound at the door of his office snapped Roman out of his thoughts–spiralling, an hourly occurrence at this rate, sending him straight to a world far away, spinning in purple irises. The door creaked open, and there stood an odd sight.
“Remus?” Roman asked, concerned. He was already standing, walking around the desk and across the room. “Is everything alright? Why are you on this side of the castle?”
Remus was very far from his room, and the castle was pretty confusing. It was a surprise his brother had found him at all.
“Virgil,” was all Remus said, like it held all the answers he’d ever been looking for. Roman paused, eyebrows furrowing.
“What about him?”
“It’s him.”
“What?” Roman asked, and Remus reached out, grabbed his hand. Before he knew it, Roman was being pulled along. Remus was leading them down the corridor, looking more sure of himself than Roman had seen since they were kids. “Remus, what are you doing? Where are we going?”
Remus didn’t answer him. In fact, Roman was thrown into even more confusion when he was steered into a random room at the end of the corridor, his brother huffing as he shut the door behind them. “Walking takes too long,” he seemed to be realizing. His hand was glowing and, when he reached out for Roman again, it was a blink of an eye before they were standing somewhere completely new.
“Remus, what the hell?” Roman asked, retracting his hand. “You shouldn’t use your magic like that! Anyone could see you.”
But Remus wasn’t listening. Was he ever? Instead, he was looking around. “Not where I would have picked.” He was sounding… like himself. Roman stared, wide-eyed. If he wasn’t so confused, he’d be elated. He’d long since thought getting his brother back to any normalcy–or whatever was normalcy for Remus–was impossible.
“Who’s there?” a voice interrupted his thoughts, carrying across the library stacks. Roman recognized it and cursed internally. Why had Remus taken them there?
Slowly, Roman put up his hands and crept out of the small alcove Remus had taken them to, ready to come up with an explanation for their sudden appearance on the fly. “Do not be afraid,” Roman said, as any prince would. He stood in the open and found Virgil’s gaze. All Virgil had to protect him were his own fists–not the best tactic, Roman thought. Then again, it was only the other day that Roman had been afraid Virgil would sock the nearest person.
Still, just his fists didn’t seem like a great defense against swords or knives or any number of weapons a burglar could have. There was a pang in Roman’s heart as he thought of what might have happened if it wasn’t just him and Remus in there. Virgil would have been defenseless.
As realization dawned on Virgil’s face, they stood at a stand still, both almost afraid to move. When Virgil’s eyes drifted to his raised fists–loose, not really fists at all, who had taught Virgil to fight?–he dropped them like hot coals, stuffing them in his pockets.
“Fuck, Roman, you nearly gave me a heart attack,” Virgil said, and Roman knew he shouldn’t be focusing on this–but Virgil had said his name again, and his heart was singing.
“My dearest apologies,” Roman bowed, and, going by the weirded out look on Virgil’s face, that was not of norm between them. He supposed they had never been quite civil with each other–even at the beginning. “I wanted to show my brother the library and you weren’t at the front desk, so we just came in.”
“I’ve been at the front desk this whole time,” Virgil said, not defensive, but confused. Well, at least Virgil wasn’t in a bad mood.
“Funny. We didn’t see you.”
“Wait wait wait,” Virgil said, backing up a second. “You said brother?”
Shit.
Looked like Roman would have to explain that sooner than he’d thought. Or, really, at all. Wanting to tell Virgil and telling him had been on two separate lists entirely. Roman wasn’t actually supposed to be talking to Virgil at all.
“Okay, so-” Roman went to start, but he was caught off by a twin set of gasps, one shortly after the other. The first had come from behind him, so that’s where he looked.
“It is you,” Remus said. Roman’s eyes widened, finally catching on to what his brother had been trying to tell him.
“Wait, do you know each other?”
“Remus?” Virgil’s reply answered that question well enough. Roman turned back to him, eyes darting between the two. Virgil sputtered, “What- How-”
“It’s too late,” Remus mumbled. It sounded a bit more like he had over the past year–less like himself, but his eyes were present; he looked to be considering something–something he didn’t seem to favor. “It was a trap.”
“A trap?” Roman asked. “What do you mean? A trap for who? Who’s trapping?”
“Remus, what the fuck? How are you here? How did you get away?” Virgil asked, walking closer, but not too close, like there was still a part of him that couldn’t believe what was in front of him.
“Get away?” Roman said, pieces further slipping into place. He didn’t like where this was going.
“What about Dee?”
“Dee…” Roman mumbled, the name familiar in his ears. I miss Dee, Remus had said. I miss Dee I miss Dee I miss Dee…
“It’s too late,” Remus repeated. “Of course it was you.”
Then, the room erupted into chaos.
-/-
Books flew, shelves rocked, windows clattered. From the corners of his eyes, Roman could see flashes of purple and green. Past the wind in his ears, he heard vague shouts from Virgil and a round of fuckfuckfuckfuckfucks from Remus. He couldn’t recall if he was saying anything himself, but he knew what he was feeling. Scared.
Roman had no idea what was happening, but, from the flashes of light, he deduced it must have been magic. This made him turn toward his brother, suddenly scared that all of this had gotten to him. Being outside the castle, some place unfamiliar, not to mention Remus had always been kind of a loose cannon with his magic–it could have caused Remus to panic.
But one look at him and Roman knew his brother wasn’t the one doing it. He turned to Virgil, remembering what he’d been saying, how he’d known Remus, how he’d raised his hands in a stance that made no sense in traditional fighting–but, with magic?
Purple sparks flew across Virgil’s skin, like they were doing on Remus too, but his eyes weren’t aglow. He wasn’t doing it either.
What was happening?
Then, abruptly, it stopped.
Shelves balanced back to their places and books dropped to the floor, lifeless. It was all they could do to just stand there before movement caught Roman’s eye at the top of one of the shelves.
Someone sat there, legs folded elegantly over one another where they balanced precariously. Roman recognized the one glowing eye peering down at them, the scaly hands, the knowing smirk.
“What a lovely reunion,” she purred. Roman was stricken, fear clenching his gut. Instinctively, however, he stepped forward in front of Remus and Virgil. He watched as her eyes traveled over each of them, finally landing behind Roman’s left shoulder, lips curling further into her face. “I was hoping it would be you.”
“How- How did you-” Virgil stuttered, but his voice died out. Roman narrowed his eyes, something protective overpowering his fear.
“You should not be here,” Roman stated.
“But, my prince,” she said, “We made a deal.”
“A deal that hasn’t come to fruition,” he said.
“I see someone’s still in denial,” the woman leered. “A witch’s curse knows all, though. You can’t scam the Dragon Witch of her hoard, my prince.” The way she said ‘my prince’ infuriated him, but nothing like Virgil’s had. The Dragon Witch said it like it was nothing, like it was delectable and sweet and hers to keep.
“What is she talking about?” Virgil asked, and Roman turned. Instead of scared, he now looked confused. He was watching the two of them, apprehensive, but ready to fight. His hands were up again in those loose fists, purple sparking off of them. Magic. Virgil had magic. “You made a deal with the witch?”
“Not that he had much choice.” The witch shrugged. It seemed casual, despite the manic glee in her eyes. “I was going to kill him and keep Remus. But he wanted his brother, and he got to be prince of a kingdom! Fair trade, if you ask me.”
“It’s not fair,” Remus said, and the witch seemed to remember he was there. “You can’t take him-”
“Shut up, Remus,” she said offhandedly and Remus flinched. Rage filled Roman, and he stomped further toward the witch.
“Don’t you dare-”
“Don’t I dare what, sweetie?” she asked, folding her legs up onto the bookshelf with her, where Roman couldn’t reach. He was ready to topple the whole shelf when her words caught him. “I’m only here for what I’m due. I was hoping you’d choose Virgil.”
“What?” he asked, and his voice echoed. He turned around and saw Virgil’s ghostly face, mouth open, having spoken at the same time.
“There’s so many possibilities, you know,” she said and sighed like she was bored. “There’s some realities where you fall for the architects, but there were quite a few where we’d end up here and that was certainly a risk I was willing to take. So glad it paid off.”
“But I’m not-” Roman protested, and when he was cut off again he felt ready to pull his sword. It would do nothing against her magic–something he knew well–but she was really getting to him.
“Not in love? Please,” the Dragon Witch scoffed. “It’s not my problem you haven’t realized it yet.”
“Wait!” a voice suddenly tore through their conversation, and Roman looked back at Virgil, something tightening his gut. Virgil looked simultaneously angry and afraid and lost. “Hold on for a second. What the fuck is going on?”
With a grace that shouldn’t have belonged to someone so wicked, the witch floated down from the bookshelf, jumping right over Roman and landing in front of Virgil. Virgil seemed to have masked everything in those few seconds, standing defiant and tall before the woman. It mystified Roman. It was nothing he had ever seen before–nothing like Virgil’s comfortable confidence in the library. Virgil lowered his hands, appearing defenseless and unafraid under her manic gaze.
“Long story,” she said, tossing her head side to side. “But I’ll tell you the ending if you want. My little happily ever after… minus dear Remus over there. I’d rather have all three of you but Remus turned weak. This. This was the outcome I was betting on.”
She leaned in, centimeters from Virgil’s face and anyone else might have missed the minute flinch in the man’s body, but Roman saw–tuned into it. Virgil’s eyes were hard. He said nothing.
Even as he was sentenced to his doom–to a doom brought to him because of Roman–because of a heart he couldn’t control–because Roman had signed away another’s life–a life that wasn’t Roman’s to give–a life Roman hadn’t yet met–that he was destined to love and hate and damn forever.
And it’d been a trap.
“Virgil, my long lost terror, you belong to me again. The End.”

word count: 1.2k
cw: mild angst with a happy ending, possibly a confusing timeline, reader is an art student
a/n: oh my GOD that’s so exciting eeee can’t wait to read it!!! tysm and i hope times get easier for u :(( sending my love. also sorry this is so late i could Not figure out a plot but i’m actually quite happy with what i spit out (it’s 2 am this opinion is liable to change with proper rest)
It’s in a café, a pretentious, dimly-lit place with oil paintings on the walls and a back stair with a balcony for smoking that things unravel. You’re careful, or you try to be, but—well. The heart wants what it wants, and yours is very willful.
Kuroo is shoved into the corner next to you, with the crushed-velvet pillows you were so afraid to spill coffee on. There had been three of you earlier, you and your art history TA and him, and since the café was a literal sardine box you had found yourself trying to balance minimizing body contact and acting like he had the plague. Your TA had had to leave in a rush, and you’d been secretly a little glad, especially when Kuroo didn’t request that you take her former seat across from him.
You remembered him the first time you met, folding himself into your tiny apartment and looking sheepish when you had looked away from the dingy window above the sink you’d been sketching and asked who he was and why he was in your house. It had turned out that he was your roommate’s boyfriend, had been for about two months, and were they ready yet?
They weren’t, so you invited him to sit on the other chair at the table and wait. You hadn’t expected him to talk to you. You hadn’t expected him to be nice.
When you blurted you have a really striking face, I’d love to draw it during a lull in the conversation where you’d had no other option than to focus on the arrangement of features some people (bad roommates) would call handsome, you hadn’t expected him to ask would you really?
You were a bad roommate, though they didn’t know it, because you hadn’t kept in touch with them after moving out but you called Kuroo at least an hour every day before bed.
And you were a bad friend—to Kuroo, not your ex-roommate, because you’re pretty sure you had loved him from the first moment he’d asked after the perspective of your little window sketch.
“Your hair,” he says, and has to twist his whole torso around to get a good look. He catches a piece of it in between his thumb and forefinger, twiddles it back and forth and peers at it like it’s a specimen in a lab. “You changed it.”
“Hardly,” you say. “I just got a trim.”
“It’s different this time,” he says. “Isn’t it?” You purse your lips and blow across the top of your super-fancy tiny coffee cup, a futile exercise since you already drank half of it.
“I went to someplace new, I guess,” you say, and he lets out a whoop that makes you laugh and forget the rest of your words.
“I knew it,” he’s so smug. “I always know.”
“Yeah,” you bat at him so he drops your hair and it springs back, you can feel it in your scalp. “Who even notices things like that?”
“Me? When it’s you.”
“Oh, stop it.” You think. “What am I allergic to?”
“Peach skins and nickel,” he says immediately. “And when you were little you broke out in hives when you ate a pomegranate but you liked it so much you kept eating it anyway and eventually the reaction went away.”
“Your memory is insane,” you sip your coffee, staring at the rapidly diminishing amount. You can’t afford another one, not on your budget as an art student. Ugh.
“No,” he reiterates. “Only when it’s you.”
It started (really started) after your roommate had broken up with him, when you’d come home in the early morning and found him sitting outside your door, brown eyes red-rimmed and holding a box of his things like it weighed a thousand pounds. Let me get you some water, you’d said, and I’d ask you to come in, but. Ah. Sorry. Do you want my breakfast bowl for tomorrow? You had tried to be kind, even though it was hard. You were tired and you didn’t know what had happened and you still had to live with his ex without them hating you.
A few months had passed—you were no vulture, and had no way to reach out anyway. He had bumped into you on vacation in Paris, grabbed you by the shoulders, and looked at you in a way he never had before. It made everyone else on the busy street disappear.
I wanted to talk to you again. Would that be okay? I still have the picture you made me, somewhere.
Your friendship ripened with the seasons.
“I believe you,” you laugh.
“You don’t!” He runs a hand through his hair, jokingly frustrated, you think. And devastatingly attractive. “You always—like—downplay your importance in my life. Like you think I forget about you when I can’t see you. But I think about you all the time.”
“Kuroo, don’t,” you say, but it’s a mistake, because you always address him formally. Your last defense against him finding out all the boundaries you want to cross. It’s a mile between you, and your hip is still touching his.
“Why not?” He spreads his arms, and knocks over your tiny coffee cup. The rest of it spills out over the table, not even enough to drip off, and neither of you notice. “Why can’t you see that I like you?”
“Because you don’t,” you choke, and you hate getting emotional like this, hate that you hate confrontation. “We’re good friends. I’m not gonna be a rebound.”
“You’re not,” he says. “You won’t be.”
“I believe you,” you say again.
“Stop that,” he groans, looks at you again like he did in the street in Paris. “If you don’t want me, that’s fine, I’m just so bad at not wanting you.”
Kuroo is awful, eyes gleaming in the lamplight and hair oil-black and dressed like he’s old money, like he’s trying to impress you.
“Of course I want you,” you say, hot and still not leaning away from him so you can breathe.
“Good,” he looks a little starstruck, and maybe that’s when you start to believe that he can look at you and tell the truth. “Good. I can draw you up a list, later, when you’re not so fucking close to me and so—”
He tilts your chin with his fingers and kisses you and it’s a word between the both of you, a whole language of touch. The overripe peach falls off its branch and bursts on the ground. The coffee soaks into the discarded cloth napkins.
“You make it hard for me to think,” he says when he pulls back, breathless. “But I can write you an essay, ten pages, twelve point font, with citations, of all the ways I love you to prove it. I swear it.”
“A picture is worth a thousand words,” you say, and take his hand when you kiss him again. And it’s not careful like some of your first kisses have been. And your heart sings.

themes: angst, heartbreak, and absolute heartbreak.
Tumblr media

Bustling crowds or silent sleepers
You're not sure which is worse
She wasn't sure what drove her to act like she did tonight. Of course she was very much in love and head over heels. She can never fathom the idea of being with someone for the rest of her life other than him. The champagne she was sipping on earlier this evening left a lingering, bitter taste in her mouth, a pungent regret, and a sour truth.
Her ears are ringing and her chest felt like it was being compressed by a large boulder. Every breath she struggles to inhale seems to burn her throat, her eyes are clouded with tears. An experience she never thought she'd go through again, and this time, no comfort of Jimmy's embrace would calm her down. She then slumped back into a brick wall and slid down into the cold ground.
As her breathing slowed down into a calmer pattern, she realized what she was feeling wasn't even a quarter close to what he must have been feeling at this moment.
Jimmy, her darling Jimmy. That little boy who she met under a sycamore tree beside an old building during lunch hours. He stood up from the other side and dusted his perfectly ironed uniform and came over with his lunchbox in hand. He stopped in front of her and stretched his arm down to show the box into her view.
"Take it. I don't like peanut butter. I'm not allergic, it's just disgusting"
He had said in a clipped voice, but it didn't stop her mouth from morphing into a wide smile which exposed her missing tooth. "Hello, I'm new here. It's nice to meet you and I'm Y/N. How about you, what's your name?"
The stoic little boy ended up sitting beside her and she listened as he endlessly expressed his undying hate for peanut butter and how he pretends he does. His love for music and his dreams to study biological research.
He took her to a lake just a few minutes walk away from his home for the first time that weekend. "It's my safe place. I'd go here whenever I feel like I need an escape", he had said.
In his shoulder, was a bag carrying a large guitar. She watched him meander his bony but elegant fingers across the strings creating a beautiful sound which could almost lull her to sleep but his out-of-tune voice kept her laughter bubbling out. They had stayed seated on a blanket until dusk came around.
Her fingers wipe the lone tear which fell on a picture in her wallet. It was a faded photograph of them during their high school prom. Both older and he, a lot taller. What once was a little girl with a missing front tooth, now a young woman smiling at the lense of the camera. And what once was a shy and mysterious little boy, now shares the same smile and possesses the same glint of adoration in his eyes for the woman in front of him. Flowy and white was the dress she wore and a large suit with a funny-looking tie for his lanky form. She could vividly remember her hands shaking as he took her hand in his after she had asked him to leave early and avoid prom pageant schemes. He whisked her away under the same old sycamore tree and rested their expensively-clothed backs on the moist grass in silence. A few minutes, he sat up straight and with a stuttering voice, he confessed his love right there, reciting a long message in which she interrupted with a longing kiss.
He was there to watch her audition and rejected a few times for the football team until she was finally able to get in. She was amongst the crowd of people to watch him at his gigs and push him to work towards his passion and to create music.
His family loved her and her family adored him. As Emily Bronte said; whatever their souls are made of, his and hers are the same.
So when he had her over to his parent's house for Christmas eve, she knew something was up. Everyone had a giddy smile as they seemed to knowingly stare at either her or Jimmy. And he, especially, appeared to be distracted and uneasy. Never in her years of knowing him had she seen him act like he does as he always was well-put together.
After dinner was served, glasses of champagne were being distributed as family members turned to each other to form in small groups of their own as they all waited for countdown.
"What do you want to get for Christmas?", Jimmy's sister cheekily asked, Y/N being unaware of its doubled meaning. She smiled fondly.
"I'm happy right where I am"
"I'd be damned if you weren't", his sister laughed heartily.
They had chatted and shared half-drunken giggles for a few minutes until his sister broke free from the conversation when someone called her over. It was when the room got unmistakably quiet. She turned around to see Jimmy, standing awkwardly in the middle of the living room. Some eyes were focused on him and others were seeking her reaction.
"You were the first one to listen to my hateful rant about peanut butter sandwiches, the first one to believe in what I can do and urged me to do what I desire. I cannot possibly express in any word the fondness I have felt the moment I have laid my eyes on you and your smile many years ago. An outcast like me, you were. But so unaware of the shine you possess and how you have everyone in every room in the palms of your tiny hands…"
It took her a few seconds to discern what was happening. As words spilled from his shaking lips, her ears weren't so responding anymore. So many thoughts were running all over her brain. He was about to propose marriage. She looked around to see looks of expectancy and hope in every family members and friends' eyes, the nervousness in Jimmy's voice and the distinct elephant in the room.
Jimmy and her were only young adults, her being 18 and him only a year older. Her heart pounded at the thought of being a burden and possibly hold Jimmy back from pursuing his dreams. Add the fact that she had goals of her own and even though the idea of growing old with Jimmy was all she wanted, she knew it was too soon. But her idea to explain her reason was impossible when there were so many people around, all expecting her to give one answer; Yes. The pressure was building up from her very core which pushed moist in her eyes and her knuckles to turn white from balling them into fists. Never in her lifetime did she think hurting Jimmy was the only resort to protect him.
"...I am irrevocably in love with every fibre of your being and I want to spend my last, withering days with you, Y/N. Will you marry me?"
There was an impenetrable silence fogging the room. Her heart was pummeling against her ribcage as her breaths came in short puffs. Her mouth opened and closed again as she searched Jimmy's eyes for signs of hoax. His were desperately seeking hers for answers as his fingers gripped the emerald ring from where he was kneeling down on one knee.
"Jimmy… I", her voice croaked out dryly and swallowed. She locked her eyes on his green irises, ones she adored so much. Her lower lip trembled as she searched his face one more time. She was so desperate to say yes, but she knew she would regret it and would only end up hurting him more. Her hands reached down to cup his cheek, smiled sadly and in a small voice, she uttered, "I'm sorry, I can't".
Then she ran outside, leaving Jimmy, her Jimmy, to watch her leave and wallow in tears.
One for the money, two for the show
I never was ready, so I watch you go
Sometimes you just don't know the answer
'Til someone's on their knees and asks you
fogs on windshield glass (part ii)

4 to 10 - Sugawara Koushi
Tumblr media
credits to @kvsagi for the Suga art!
Tags: Timeskip! Sick Suga x Doctor! Reader, No Specific Gender for Reader, Angst
Synopsis: Suga has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis ever since he was 18, a few days after he graduated from high school. He works as an author in the hospital room he currently lives in. When he was 26, you entered the hospital as an official resident doctor and you were assigned to him.
In the beginning, it was just wheezing. After serving a ball to the ace, Suga just needed a few minutes to breathe air back into his system - nothing else.
It slowly became long nights of consistent coughing. It was just a dust allergy - nothing more. Almost all his family members had it - his allergic reactions were just stronger.
It became shorter hours of practice and any forms of exercise. His lungs were just weaker than the rest of the team's. It didn't mean that he was not as skilled as them - he just had to work more efficiently - more success, less time.
Then came the first lung infection.
Then the next.
Then the next.
Then the next.
It was no longer something he could just write off anymore.
Then came the tests; one sweat test and one genetic test.
The next time people saw him, he carried a bag connected to a tube that was in his nose.
He could still live his life normally - he just needed regular checkups. The only thing he needed to do was keep his distance, keep clean and not mess up.
That's all he needed to do, right?
The attacks got worse and worse.
His lungs became so fragile the slightest amount of dust or germ could kill him.
If he wanted to live, he needed to live in the hospital.
Until his clock stopped working, he needed to stay in the white walls of the Hospital of Tokyo forever - and that is what he did.
For the next 8 years of his life, he stayed in the hospital as a 'permanent resident' and lived peacefully.
His life consisted of college online, eating, studying, cleaning his lungs, talking with the other 'permanent residents' or just 'guests', playing with kids in the pediatric ward and sleep.
That was his life - and he didn't hate it.
He soon graduated from college and university and became an author - a well-known one, may I add.
He still talked to his friends from high school - Daichi and Asahi being common visitors with the occasional visit from Kageyama and Hinata.
This was his life until his life ended.
But all that changed when you came into the hospital for the first time.
Sugawara was never one to eye at the doctors or the nurses in the hospital - he believed that it was irrational and very wrong. Yet, you somehow changed his mind almost instantly.
He couldn't muster the bravery to even welcome you on your first day by himself, despite everyone who knew him literally pushing him to do so.
He begged all of the nurses to introduce him to you, but they all wanted him to do it by himself.
"Staring at our newest doctor, huh?" said Sugawara's doctor, Hizashi Yamada from behind him.
"You want me to introduce you to them?" He asked, smiling deviously.
Soon, Suga's doctor brought him to meet you, despite all of Suga's resistance to it.
"Hello, Y/N-sensei. Welcome to the Hospital of Tokyo. It is a pleasure to have someone so well-versed in our hospital as a permanent doctor," said Hizashi-sensei.
He placed his hand out, only for you to shake it. "No need for the praises, Yamada-sensei. The fact you recognized me is a privilege itself."
"This," Yamada-sensei pulled Suga forward, "Is Sugawara Koushi. He has been admitted to our hospital ever since he was eighteen."
Suga blushed furiously.
He wasn't ready to meet you up close so quickly. He wanted to admire you from afar for at least another two more days so that he could learn about your interests, but fate wasn't on his side this time.
Not to mention, you were a doctor, too! One of the younger ones, too... and hotter...
Suga awoke from his daze when he saw your gloved hand reach out to his to give him a handshake. "Pleasure to meet you, Sugawara-san. I believe you are an author? My sister loves your books!"
Suga was internally thanking Daichi for telling him to become an author.
Suga raised his hand to meet yours in a handshake. "The pleasure is all mine."
"As you both know, I am retiring this year," Yamada-sensei said, making both you and Suga face him.
"I've discussed with the board. Y/N-sensei, you'll be in charge of Suga starting tomorrow. I will send all the information about his condition soon," He ended off with a smile.
Wait - you were in charge of him?
Suga was shaking even more now.
It would no longer be Yamada-sensei seeing the uglier side of him but the very person he was developing a crush on.
"Fate works in mysterious ways, huh?" you said, breaking Suga's train of thought.
"I guess it was good I met you today then, Sugawara-san," you ended with a cheerful smile.
"I leave myself in your care then, Y/N-sensei," Suga said while bowing to you.
"Just call me Y/N. I think you're older than me, anyway," you said, laughing a bit. "I'll see you tomorrow!"
You walked towards the nurses that were calling you, leaving an extremely red Sugawara in the middle of the foyer.
The next day stood as a challenge for the silver-haired male.
He was going to act as good as he can so that your job could be as simple as it can be - no cheeky comments, no playful jokes.
Just being a boring, normal patient for the few hours you'd be in his room.
Well, that resolve almost failed immediately when you came in and begged for a conversation with him.
"It's too quiet for me to work properly, Sugawara-san. I know you think that keeping the room quiet helps, but the tension in the room is a bit too strong for me to work normally," you said, aching for some noise to come out of him.
But he didn't say anything - not even a noise.
"If you don't say anything in the next few minutes, I am going to begin talking a bit too much and trust me, you don't want that."
You turned to prepare the machine to remove the excess mucus in his lungs.
"You can call me Suga-san if you want," Suga whispered, scared to speak as loud as he usually does.
You chuckled and turned to face him. "I was going to call you Koushi-kun, whether you liked it or not."
"So, Koushi-kun," you started, "where and when does this author's life begin?"
He chuckled softly. "I was actually born in Miyagi. I was a replacement setter for the volleyball team in my school. Then again, I played a few times even when our main setter was there."
"What school?"
"Karasuno."
You opened your eyes in shock. "Wait - you were part of the Karasuno's volleyball team that went to nationals back then!"
He stared at your wonder-filled eyes and smiled. "Yeah, I was."
"So you know Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio? The Japan players?"
Pride swelled in him when he heard those two names. "Yeah, I do. I actually taught Hinata the basics."
"You've done well, my friend," you said, earning a laugh from the 26-year old.
And that small conversation began the long conversations you both had when you were doing long hours in the hospital.
After handling other patients, you'd often spend time with Koushi in his room with the pretence of 'I'm his doctor - it's my duty to be with him most of the time.'
But that was far from the truth, wasn't it?
You were developing feelings for your own patient.
How could you not fall for him?
Behind the beautiful exterior of his was a man of true beauty itself.
He was a hard worker - spent most of his time working on his new project.
He was kind - helped the nurses with managing the kids in the pediatric ward when they went for their lunch break.
He was the ideal man for anyone.
Time passed and you had been taking care of the former setter for the past two years.
He introduced you to his friends - Asahi, Daichi, Kageyama and Hinata, if you remember correctly - when they came over.
They soon became close friends of yours too - despite your fangirling over the Japan volleyball players. They often spent hours on end with Suga in his room.
All of you enjoyed the small talks you all had together and talked about the things happening in the outside world - be it a small injury or someone's wedding.
"Y/N-san, what about you? Are you in a relationship?" the orange-haired man asked, a small yet beaming smile on his lips.
You instantly blushed and looked at Sugawara. His eyes focused solely on you, taking you in.
"I've been single my whole life. I don't think I'd be getting into a relationship soon, too. The doctor's life doesn't really revolve around romance, despite all the TV shows and movies," you ended, earning snickers from almost everyone in the room.
"How about the rest of you? Is there a conquest of love happening in your lives?" you asked. Now my turn to grin.
Both Kageyama and Hinata stared at one another, faces beet red.
Koushi sighed. "Why can't you both just tell that you're a couple? We all knew ever since high school."
"How did you all know?" Kageyama shouted. You immediately shushed him, earning a small 'sorry' from him.
"You both aren't quiet in the storage room, you know?" Daichi said. Everyone except the couple began laughing hysterically.
"Damn, the money I'd get if I leaked this to the news," you jokingly said, teasing the two players.
When the clock showed 8pm, you pushed the four of the visitors out of Suga's room.
Their time had ended and they needed to head home.
Once they left, you felt a tug on your doctor's coat. You saw Koushi asking you back into the room, not ready for you to leave yet.
"Is everything okay?" You asked him, worried about his health.
"Do you feel like there isn't enough oxygen in your tank? I can always get you a replacement right now-" Koushi placed his finger on your lips.
"Please, just listen to what I have to say," he asked, his eyes begging you to listen to him.
You closed the door behind the two of you. He pulled you to sit beside him on his bed.
"I know I don't have much time left. I already had 10 years after diagnosis when the norm is 4," he said, chuckling.
You wanted to intervene - hell, the sentence was already prepared in your head - but you didn't. From what it looked like, he wanted you to just accept whatever he had to say.
"My drive to write is long gone - I can barely write a sentence I like anymore. I love playing with the kids, but I feel like I would just disturb them rather than entertaining them. I - I feel my life slipping away from my fingers, Y/N..." he said, tears forming around his eyes.
"Yet, when I see you walk along the halls of the hospital, I feel re-energized. I only met you two years ago, but I already am so dependant on you - and not just as a doctor. You are the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning. You are the only thing I think of when I fall asleep. You are..." he gripped on your wrist, "the only thing I want right now."
"Koushi-kun..."
"I love you, Y/N. I didn't want you to leave today without knowing this. I love you so much - as a doctor and as a person."
You hugged the male in front of you, letting his tears fall on your jacket.
"I know you can't reciprocate my feelings, but I just needed you to know."
You gripped on his shirt.
This was the only man you've ever wanted, but you could never have him.
You held your tears back as you walked out of his room.
The next day was just a blur.
The mucus in his lungs built up at an extremely fast pace.
A severe infection formed in his lungs.
You rushed from your apartment to the hospital to conduct surgery as fast as you could.
Luck, however, wasn't on your side.
In the midst of the surgery, the electrocardiogram flatlined.
Sugawara Koushi was pronounced dead at 3:45 am at the Hospital of Tokyo on the 19th of December in the year 2022.
I hope you enjoyed the fanfic! As always, if you have ideas or tropes you'd like me to try, don't hesitate to leave a suggestion here! Thanks for all the reblogs and the likes too! <3 If you want to learn about Cystic Fibrosis, I watched this video and it helped me in understanding the science part of it~

Chapter 22.) Reflection.
It′s crazy how you flaunt your passion.
When you let meaning of them worth take over you.
You stare into my soul like that.
Makes me wonder when you ain't get by the side of me.
It′s pain and pleasure.
To love someone so.
So much you, you hate them.
Push me over the edge then.
To go catch you, your love is.
It's bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
I build you up, then knock you down.
It's bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
You stay quiet and I get loud.
It′s bittersweet.
It had been 3 days since Naia was rushed to the hospital because of Wolfbane being in her system. Her parents, especially her mother, were both distraught and furious that their daughter had gotten herself caught up in the tireless war between The Pack and The Knights Of Ossory. Those three days felt like years to them. Both took turns sitting vigil over their daughter.
The only saving grace was that her condition hadn't changed. It hadn't gotten better but Laurie and Shane were thankful it hadn't worsened. They just wanted her to open her eyes. Laurie needed her daughter to wake up. She had to hear her voice again. And every moment that she didn't the more she went crazy. Laurie would just sit at Naia’s bedside holding onto her hand and pray Naia would squeeze her hand. The agony of waiting was going to kill her.
“Anything?” her husband asked as he entered the room with coffee in hand.
Laurie just shook her head no.
“It'll happen, baby. It has to. She'll wake up and we'll be able to breathe again.”
She never said a word to him. She just held onto Naia’s hand as Shane set the cup of coffee he brought her down. Laurie's eyes were red and puffy and her face was a mess. She blamed The Pack and The Knights Of Ossory but mostly she blamed herself. She swore to protect her daughter from all of this. To prevent her from going through the hell she went through over 30 years ago. And feels like she failed. A pain no mother wants to go through.
Laurie rubbed Naia’s knuckle silently, willing their daughter to wake up.
“Have you eaten baby?”
Laurie shook her head no.
“You should go eat something baby.”
“I don't want food. I want our daughter. I want her to wake up now.”
Shane sat beside her and placed his hand over hers.
“I know, baby. I want that too. I need it. You need it. But it's not good for you not to eat something.”
“I can't leave her! What if she wakes up and I'm not here?! I have to be here!”
Her frantic tone worried Shane.
“Baby listen to me! You need to go eat something. I'll be right here. I will watch over her. If anything happens I swear to you that I will tell you immediately.”
“But Shane—”
“No buts! Go eat something. Now! I won't let anything happen to her. I swear that on my life.”
Laurie looked at him before getting up and going to the door. When she looked back towards Naia, Shane smiled softly at her.
“It's okay baby, I'll keep her safe.”
Laurie nodded sadly before walking out the door.
Shane turned his attention back to their daughter, his worry, resentment, rage, sorrow, protectiveness, and anxiety all on high. His little girl. His flesh and blood. She hadn't moved or spoken since he last saw her. He was thankful for the hospital staff. They were able to get her allergic reaction to Wolfbane under control but she was still unconscious. None of the meds she was on seemed to be working.
It′s so easy to listen.
When your tongue is an innocent prisoner of war oh yeah.
And it might bе wrong but we never еnd that.
Damage is done, always pain and pleasure.
To love someone so.
So much you hate them.
Push me over the edge then.
To go catch you, your love is.
It's bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
I build you up, then knock you down.
It′s bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
You stay quiet and I get loud.
It's bittersweet.
It didn't take Laurie long to come back from the cafeteria. When Shane looked up she walked in with food for them both.
“I'm not the only one who needed to eat.”
Shane smiled softly as she handed him a sandwich.
“Still nothing?”
“Still no change. But I'm not giving up.”
Laurie smiled at her husband's resolve. They sat together and ate their food in silence. Their eyes went from Naia to the IV drip machine she was hooked up to.
“Don't worry baby. Our girl will wake up.”
“I know she will. She has to. And when she does…we have to tell her the truth.”
Shane looked at his wife confused.
“Are you sure? Are you sure you’re ready to do that?”
“Look at her Shane! She wouldn't be here, hell we wouldn't even be here if she knew the truth. It's time. So when she wakes up and is lucid enough to hear it we'll tell her everything.”
Shane took his wife's hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Okay. If you’re ready and you're sure. Then I am too.”
Laurie offered him a small smile.
Yeah I know you know me.
That′s why you the only one can push my buttons.
Sometimes it's like you speak another language.
Got me like adios buenas noches baby.
Oh it′s pain and pleasure.
To love someone so.
So much you hate them.
Push me over the edge then.
To go catch you, your love is.
It′s bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
I build you up, then knock you down.
It′s bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
You stay quiet and I get loud.
It's bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
I build you up, then knock you down.
It′s bittersweet.
(What you want from me, want, want)
You stay quiet and I get loud.
It's always bittersweet.
While her body was still, Naia was subconsciously awake.
“Naia…”
Naia slowly opened her eyes, and looked around frantically and confusedly. She couldn't see anything or anyone.
“What? Where am I?”
That's when she heard a woman's voice.
“I've been waiting to meet you.”
When Naia turned around she saw a figure she didn't recognize.
“Who’s there? Who are you? What is this place?”
The figure in front of her soon materialized into an elderly black woman. One that she recognized.
“Oh…my…God! You’re…you're…Delia?”
She smiled at Naia.
“Hello, my dear. It's wonderful to finally meet you.”
Naia’s jaw dropped.
“But how?!”
“I thought you…you died a long time ago!”
“I did. 3 years ago.”
“Wait! Am I dead?”
Delia laughed softly.
“No dear, you’re not dead. You are in the world between worlds.”
Naia blinked in realization.
“I was here with Roman. Where is he?! Is he hurt?! Did Trent shoot him?!”
Delia placed a calming hand on Naia’s shoulder.
“All will be revealed shortly. I promise.”
Naia took a shaky breath then nodded.
“Now come sit with me. We have much to discuss.”
Naia followed Delia to a bench that appeared out of nowhere. When they sat down Delia cocked her head to the side at Naia curiously. Making her feel super awkward.
“Is there something on my face?”
“No. I’m just curious about you. You’re as beautiful as I imagined you’d be.”
Naia couldn’t keep the blush from creeping up on her face.
“A ghost just called me beautiful. I must be hallucinating.”
Delia chuckled.
“You said we had much to discuss. What are we discussing?”
“You, my dear. Your connection to the town, the people, and especially Roman.”
“I mean I’ve been in town for a few months. I don’t know anyone outside of my uncle Trent and the Pack.”
Delia nods.
“And what are your impressions of them so far?”
Naia chewed the inside of her cheek.
“Can I be honest with you?”
“Of course dear. That’s why we are here.”
“I understand why my mom doesn’t want me around Roman. Because to be honest, he’s terrifying. But at the same time…I can’t stay away from him. I can’t get enough of him. He makes me feel safe. And loved. And wanted. And I…”
“Yes?”
“I care about him. A lot. But I don't know if I'm ready to give up my life for him. I don't know if I'm ready to be his mate.”
Deli nodded.
“It is a lot to ask of a young woman. I would know.”
“How did you decide Delia? Or was it decided for you?”
Delia chuckles softly.
“It wasn’t my intent to be Xander’s mate when I first came to Hunt’s Peak.”
Naia blinked in confusion.
“You’re not from Hunt’s Peak?”
“No. Originally from the Pittsburgh area.”
“I didn’t know that.”
“I grew up in foster care so it wasn’t like many had missed me when I left.”
“So what brought you to Hunt’s Peak?”
“I was hired as a 5th teacher. I loved my job. Teaching children became my passion.”
“And how did you meet Xander?”
“I’ve always been a Wolfkin and I knew it was my destiny to become the mate to a member of The Pack but I never thought I would be Xander’s mate. But to answer your question, I was walking along the creek when I saw him and his father Ferdinand. We were smitten at first sight.”
“Oh…did his father accept you?”
“Yes, he did. And after some convincing so did his mother Cecilia.”
“When did Xander become Alpha?”
“Shortly after we met. Maybe 6 months or so.”
“Is that when you became his mate?”
“Yes. He courted me until he became Alpha.”
“Courted how?”
Delia smiled as if lost in a memory.
“He would come by the school. Regale my students in wild tales of werewolves as knights and kings and sorceresses and sorcerers. That sort of thing. But the biggest thing he did for me, was he planted a single night flower and let it blossom into a field full of them.”
“Sounds like he was a romantic at heart.”
“He used to be but when he became Alpha, responsibility and obligation replaced flowers and romance.”
“Was it hard?”
“No. Not at first. I always understood my role as The Alpha’s mate. And I cherished it. Becoming a sort of Den Mother gave me a purpose.”
“What changed?”
Delia looked at Naia with a new curiosity.
“He met your mother.”
Naia swallowed.
“Mommy told me how she met him.”
“I remember that. I remember when he told her no at first. I was furious at him. So I not so subtly encouraged him to reconsider not protecting her and your uncle.”
“Why did you do that?”
“Your mother was a child at the time. And your uncle couldn’t protect her as he should have. Only Xander and The Pack could do that.”
“She also told me about the day he offered her The Pack’s protection.”
“I remember when Xander told me about Bobby Giles threatening her. He was furious and I was disgusted. But we both knew that he couldn't just charge into town and rid it of him. Well, he could but it wasn't in his nature at the time. So he sent a few wolves in their human forms to investigate.”
“She told me that too. And the time that Bobby pulled a gun out on Xander.”
Delia snickered.
“The fool. He believed that his gun would scare Xander. But he learned the hard way that day.”
Naia shifted in her seat.
“Mommy showed me the necklace that Xander gave her.”
“I know about that. He gave it to her on her 18th birthday.”
“She also said that she was bonded to him.”
“She's right. She was bonded to him until he died.”
“Are you angry about that?”
Delia went quiet
“To be honest, I was very angry with her. Jaded and bitter even. But I realized after she left that my anger was misplaced.”
“Misplaced how?”
“After she left I found out that Xander was telling her that she was to be his new mate. And at that time your mother was a young impressionable girl.”
“He was manipulating her?”
“Yes, he played with her heart and preyed on it.”
“My God. Why did you stay with him for so long?”
“I was bound by Pack Law to stay with my mate until his death.”
Naia shuddered.
“Will that happen to me?”
“If you choose to be Romans mate you are bound by Pack Law to be at his side until his death.”
“Well, that explains what my mom said about you and Xander being married on paper.”
Delia nodded.
“If I was the mate of any other Pack member I could leave. But I was Xander’s mate. As was your mother. As yet…”
“She ran away.”
“Yes.”
“Can you tell me about Xander?”
“What would you like to know?”
“What did he look like?”
Delia waves a hand and a picture of Xander materialized in front of them.
Tumblr media
“Whoa…”
“That is Xander in all his glory.”
“He and Roman look just alike.”
Delia smiled softly.
“Yes. He has his father's looks and stubbornness but he also has my heart.”
“Will I meet Xander?”
“No my dear. You won't.”
“Crisis averted.”
“So, will you be Roman’s mate or will you go back to your life as a human woman?”
Just as Naia was about to speak another panel appeared in front of her and Delia.
“What's this?”
“Roman. He's trying to connect to you through your bond. We are about to look at life through his eyes. These panels that appear are what life is like.”
“Why can’t he connect with me?”
Instead of responding, Delia put a finger to her lips then pointed to the panel. When Naia looked at the panel she was transported into Roman’s mind.
She and Delia were looking at a memory of them.
She had convinced Layla to let her turn Buck’s into a mini-movie theater for the pups and their parents. To give them something fun to do. When Roman heard about it he was both curious and thrilled. The girls decided on watching Lion King. With Gino and popcorn in hand, Naia snuggled next to Roman.
“So this movie is about…cats?”
“The circle of life. And lions.”
“…lions are cats are they not?”
Naia shook her head at the memory before turning to Delia.
“I remember this.”
“Do you?”
“Yes. It was the day I learned that your son doesn’t like my impressions.”
Delia chuckled. They turned back to the memory and as they did, they came upon Naia’s impression of one of her favorite scenes in the movie.
“Hyenas. I hate hyenas. So what’s your plan for getting past those guys?”
“Live bait.”
“Good idea!…hey!”
“Come on Timon, you guys have to create a diversion.”
“What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula?”
Roman groaned.
“Are you going to be like this the rest of the movie?”
“What? Gino likes my impression. You don’t like my impression?”
“…no.”
“Everyone’s a damn critic.”
Roman rolled his eyes. But he would soon find out which scene is her favorite scene in the whole movie.
“Hey! Who’s the pig?”
“Are you talking to me?”
“Uh oh! Did he call him a pig?”
“Are you talking to me?”
“Shouldn’t have done that!”
“Are you talking to me?!”
“Now they’re in for it!”
“They call me: Mr. Pig!”
And just as she got Pumbaa’s yell Roman clamped a hand to her mouth.
“Beloved…how am I to enjoy this movie you’ve chosen with your incessant talking?”
Naia just giggled as the panel changed to a more recent memory. One that Naia didn’t recognize.
“My…room?”
“Yes, my dear. This was just a few days ago.”
“But I don’t remember this.”
“Because you aren’t there.”
“What?! What do you mean?”
Delia pointed to the panel as it showed Roman walking into her room. He looked distraught as he looked around. Naia could feel his anguish in her chest. When his eyes fell on Gino sitting on the bed, she felt tears on her cheek as he held Gino close to his chest.
“I don’t understand.”
“The one he considers to be his mate is missing.”
“His mate? You mean me?”
“Yes, my dear.”
“But why is he looking for me?”
“Because your bond with him is disrupted. He’s trying to reconnect with you.”
“But why?”
Delia turned back to the panel as it showed Roman in wolf form curled up on her bed with Gino under his jaw. She felt his agony and his pain as well as his longing as he whimpered. He was missing her. He was needing her. Her presence. Her smile. Her laugh. It broke her heart. She stood up shouting to the panel.
“Roman! Roman! I'm here! I'm right here!”
Delia put a hand on her shoulder.
“He can't hear you. This is only a vision of what has already been.”
Naia turned to Delia with pleading in her eyes.
“You said that he couldn’t connect to me, why can’t he connect to me?”
With a wave of a hand another panel appeared. This one showed Naia lying in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV with her mother at her side.
“I–I–I…it can’t be! You said I wasn’t dead!”
“You aren’t Naia. You’ve been injected with Wolfbane. It’s a toxin that can be deadly but thankfully you were taken to the hospital in time to save you.”
“Injected?! How?!”
“You don’t remember?”
Naia stood there confused until it hit her.
“The tranquilizer dart! The one that Trent was using! Am I right?”
Delia nodded.
“If I’m on an IV then why haven’t I woken up?”
“Because the spirits aren’t ready for you to wake up yet.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
Delia looked at Naia.
“Answer this. Why do you think you’re here?”
Naia didn't know how to answer that question.
“I don't know.”
As soon as those words left her mouth another panel appeared. This one was of Trent after he left the hospital. He was in his boss’s office going off about Wolfbane.
“What is wrong with you Moses?!”
“The tranquilizer! You said it was harmless!”
“It is harmless! It effects those beasts and their ability to shift!”
“What about humans?”
“It doesn’t effect humans!”
Trent eyed him with an intense yet calm fury.
“What is Wolfbane?”
Bernard blinked in confusion.
“Where did you hear that name?”
“Answer the question!”
“It’s the name of the tranquilizer. It doesn’t effect humans.”
“Yes it does.”
“No it does not!”
Trent pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Naia was hit by one of the tranquilizer darts.”
“The young woman you brought here the other day?”
“Yes. She collapsed after being hit and is now in the hospital fighting for her life. According to her mother Wolfbane is a poison that you and Xander created.”
Bernard looked at Trent genuinely confused.
“Her mother?”
“I didn't stutter.”
“What was her last name again?”
“Evans.”
“I knew someone with that last name but it was a he not a she.”
“Probably her dad. Her mother’s maiden name is Roberts.”
Bernard’s face lit up.
“Roberts? As in Laurie Roberts? Zane Roberts sister?”
“Yes.”
“I knew that girl looked familiar!”
“What are you talking about?”
“I know her mother. Which means Xander was right. She did run off with Evans. I can’t believe she finally came back home.”
“Is what her mother said true? That you created this with Xander?”
“Yes it is but he took it too far. It wasn’t designed to be lethal. I tried to stop him but you can see what good it did.”
“So Xander truly was a monster?”
“Ohhh yes my boy. A monster indeed.”
As she watched with Delia, Naia wasn’t entirely convinced that Bernard was totally innocent.
“I don’t like him. I don’t trust him.”
“That’s Bernard Sayre for you.”
“Has he always been this way?”
“Oh yes. Even when I was amongst the living he and especially his motives were always questionable.”
“Why does the town let him do what he does?”
“Only the town can answer that.”
“I guess…”
The panel showed Trent in his cabin sitting on his couch with a bottle in his hand. Naia could feel his guilt and shame as well as his anger. His anger at his boss and anger at himself. He didn’t mean to hurt her. She just came out of nowhere. By the time he pulled the trigger it was too late. He didn't see her at first but when she dropped to the ground his heart dropped when she did. He wanted to be there at the hospital with her. To tell her how sorry he was. How much she means to him. How he wishes he could take it all back.
But at that moment he couldn't. All he could do was wallow in his festering grief and simmering anger. The same as Roman. This war had taken away a lot for both of them but this was the final straw. Trent wasn't about to lose to Roman again. And Roman had finally had enough of Trent being a thorn in his side. Both had subconsciously decided that this was an all-out war.
All of it broke Naia.
“They aren't serious are they?”
“Yes. Both are hurt and angry. Both at themselves and each other.”
“But I don't want this! I don't want them fighting!”
“Then you've found your reason for being here.”
“What do you mean?”
“You asked me why you were brought here. My dear, you were brought here to heal what is broken.”
“You mean Roman and Trent?”
“And your family. Your mother, especially.”
“Mommy?”
“Yes. She is hurting. And angry. And confused. And you are the key to healing her wounds. And theirs.”
Naia nodded.
“How do I do that?”
“You can start by answering your mother’s prayer.”
Delia turned back to the panel that showed Laurie. When Naia looked up, her mother was holding the necklace that Xander gave her. She looking out of the window to the moon in the sky.
“Spirits of the earth,
I don't know if you can hear me or that I even have the right to ask this. But I come to you with a simple prayer. I ask you to heal my daughter. She doesn't deserve to be here. She doesn't deserve this. She's innocent. If you're angry with me for abandoning The Pack and my duties as Xander’s mate I understand. But I beg you! Don't make my daughter suffer because of me. I beg you, please bring her back to me. Let her eyes open again. Let her speak again. I just want my little girl back. I need her back. Please! Heal her.”
Delia turned to Naia with a question.
“Now that you know your purpose, are you ready my dear?”
“Yes. I am ready to heal all that is broken.”
Delia waved her hand and the panels disappeared. They were replaced by a doorway.
“Then go. Your mother is waiting for you.”
“Thank you, Delia.”
Delia smiled at her.
“You're welcome, my dear. Tell my son that I miss him and that I love him and that I'm sorry.”
Naia smiled at her.
“I will.”
Naia stepped through the doorway and was transported back to her hospital room, just as her mother finished praying. She had moved her head slightly which both startled and excited Laurie.
“Naia? Naia baby are you awake?”
Naia’s eyes fluttered open and when she spoke her voice was weak.
“Mommy…”
Laurie had tears in her eyes.
“I'm here baby. I'm right here.”
Laurie was overcome with joy and relief.
“You came back to me!”
“I missed you, mommy.”
“I missed you too, baby girl.”
“We…have…much…to…talk…about.”
Laurie nodded resolutely.
“Yes, we do. It's time for you to know the true reason why I left.”

Uhm...hi! First of all, I love your blog so much. You are definitely deserving of all the love you get and deserve even more. I was wondering if you could possibly write how the chocobros would react to their S/O obsessing over a baby (that isn't theirs, maybe a family member's or stranger's) I'm sorry it isn't much to go off of
Hello Darling, thank you so much! I enjoy the love that I get, and also have room to give and get more!  Children are…well they’re a gift from above…
~~~~~
Noctis
“Are you pouting?” You giggled, holding the fourth Princess of Duriya, as you sat in the guest chair aside your fiance.
“No.” Noctis scoffed.
“She’s a natural.” Regis replied standing alongside the child’s mother.
“Are you certain that you don’t mind, Princess?” The child’s mother called, worried about offending you as you held her child.
You glanced to the three elder sisters ranging from 5 to 10, than to the baby curled so nicely within your arms and the bosom of your dress, “I don’t mind, she’s such a good baby.”
Regis chuckled fondly, “So long as your daughter is within my daughter’s care, everything shall be fine.” He replied with a wink, at your overly large smile. Regis loved seeing that smile beam on your face since he first started calling you Daughter after Noctis’s proposal.
“Thank you, your Highness.” The Queen bowed, obviously exhausted but ready to head into the meeting with Regis. “We shall return shortly, should you wish to put her down, a servant will be able to escort you to her chambers.”
You gave a wave, you didn’t understand royal hierarchy, as this woman was a Queen, and you were simply marrying into the royal family. Yet then again you were marrying into the richest and most powerful family, maybe your darling Prince could explain.
“Hey Noct, what’s that look for?” You asked, at your boyfriend currently glaring at your boobs, well more precisely the young child using your boobs as a pillow. Well as they were often used as Noctis’s pillows, and a few of your shirts and dresses had the drool marks to prove it.
“What look?”
“Noctis are you jealous of the baby?” You giggled, only for those blue  sapphires to stare at you, then quickly away. There was your answer.  “Noctis don’t get upset, she’s super cute. Do you want to hold her?”
“I’m not upset and no.” Noctis groaned.
“Really?” Both of you turned as you heard the baby start to fuse, “Oh…Oh no, is Noctis making you upset?”
“I am not.”
“She might be getting fussy cause she’s sleepy.” You replied, moving to stand, only to feel Noctis lift you up to stand instead as you were still holding the baby. “We should put her down for a nap, excuse me.”
“Yes, Prince and Princess.” A maid called.
“Where is the Princess’s chambers?” You inquired.
“I’ll escort you there.” The maid smiled, as she led you both down the hallway. To a rather grand nursey, “I shall go fetch the nanny for you.”
“This is a little much don’t they think.” You giggled, moving over to what you assumed was a cradle, hopefully. It was covered in so much bling, you felt more comfortable putting the child on the huge stuffed moogle in the corner. “Rest easy little one.”
Almost as soon as you put the little one within the bed, she was out like a light and you had your arms filled with a boyfriend rubbing his head against your breasts, reclaiming his spot like the cat he was.
You giggled stroking his head fondly, “I hate to see what you’re like when we have kids of our own.”
“That’s like in 10…” Noctis rubbed his face further against your chest, “Make that 15 years.”
~~~~~
Prompto
“You are the absolute cutest little thing.” You cooed to the baby inside the stroller. “So healthy and strong, how old?”
“18 months.” The mother beamed, clearly a new mother.
“Goodness, you are such an amazing mother, such a happy baby.”
“Thank you so much!”
Prompto watched as you continued talking to the woman and the baby, it had been going on for 5 minutes, but he couldn’t bring himself to tear you away. You absolutely adored young, anything! Kids, Chocobos, even that baby behemoth you tried to convince Ignis you could tame with all your love.
“I’m so sorry I wasted your time.” You smiled to the mother.
“No, no we love meeting new people. Say if you live in town, would you mind babysitting?”
You gave a soft sigh, “Oh I wish, unfortunately I like in the Crown City.”
“Oh, that’s too bad, we both really like you. Well have a nice day.”
“Buh bye.” You smiled to the mother, only than realizing that your boyfriend was waiting. “Oh! Oh Prompto I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“Nah it’s fine, I know what you’re like around kids.” Prompto smiled, as you flushed deeply. “It’s super cute and I love how happy you get about it.”
You giggled softly, “Oh you’re the best.”
“Now let’s go see something both of us will be happy about.”
“What’s that?”
“Baby Chocobos.”
Prompto couldn’t keep down the laughter at the huge smile and squeal that escaped you.
~~~~~
Gladiolus
“Hi precious.” You cooed.
Gladiolus cocked an eyebrow, he was in the kitchen so who were you talking to? Moving into the back room, where you had set up your stretching center the man was greeted to you laying on the floor before a bassinet performing your floor stretches. He had forgot that you were babysitting your friends baby today.
“I was wondering who you were talking to.” Gladiolus chuckled, stepping over to you, as you performed your downward dog.
“Hey Baby.” You smiled, only to squeak at the loud smack on your ass. “I should have known better.”
“Yes you should have.” Gladiolus chuckled as you presented your cheek for him to kiss. “How long the munchkin been here?”
“About an hour, we were just about to go out for a walk, wanna come?”
“Why the hell not.” Gladiolus chuckled, only to have to wait, as it took you 15 minutes to get ready. Constantly going ‘One more second’, before finally getting yourself and the baby together. He stopped and watched as you wrapped a long piece of cloth around yourself before placing the baby within it.
“Ready?” You called, getting a coo from the baby and a yes from your Baby.
As the three of you walked through the park, getting stopped every so often by other women who fawned and cooed over the baby. You noticed that Gladiolus was being a little more standoffish,and had only allowed for you to hold his hand, and kept staring at the baby than away.
“Here.” Gladiolus replied handing you a small snowcone.
“Thanks baby.” You cooed, before looking down seeing that the little one had fallen asleep. “We should head back after this.”
“All right.”
You placed a spoonful of the flavor ice in your mouth, enjoying the mix of flavors of the sweet ice Gladiolus provide you, he was always so good at pick out the best mixed flavors. “Gladdy, Baby.”
Gladiolus tensed slightly, you only called him ‘Gladdy Baby’ when you were mad, or ready to ask for a strange favor, “Yeah?”
“Why do you keep looking at the baby like that?”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know, like you want to fight a kid?”
“What no!” Gladiolus quickly gasped.
“Than what’s up?”
Gladiolus glanced away from you both, a slight blush to his cheeks, “I…I was just thinking of how you would look with our kids. You’d be an amazing mother, our future children are lucky.”
Your spoon dropped from your hands, as you stared at you boyfriend, “Th..thanks.”
“I’ll go get you another spoon.” He replied all but bolting from the bench you were on.
You watched the tall man, thinking about maybe 15 years down the road, “You know, he’s the only guy I want to start a family with.”
The baby cooed loudly in agreement in their sleep.
~~~~~
Ignis
“Careful, little one.” You smiled, reaching out taking the small hand currently tugging on the tassel of the curtain within the main hall. Only to have that small hand currently wrap around your hair, well rather your hair than have an entire curtain fall on the two of you during the Gala.
“Are you alright, My love?” Ignis inquired for quite possibly the tenth time this evening.
“Yes, my love.” You smiled.
When the Gala had started, you hadn’t been expected to play babysitter to the son of a Duchess from a neighbouring country. Yet the nanny had fallen ill due to an allergic reaction in one of the hor dourves, and the backup nanny was stuck in traffic for the 2 hours at least.   So being the only woman within the room that actually knew how to hold a child you took it upon yourself to make sure this child survived the evening as no one else seemed concerned.
Besides anything was better than listening to some of the conversations Ignis could get dragged into.
“Let me know if you require any assistance.” Ignis replied, resting a lingering hand on your own.
Yet all evening, even as Ignis associated with the rest of the room he always made certain that you were within his sight. He watched as you cooed at the baby, allowing him to pull at your hair or the shiny straps of your evening gown. He watched as you cleaned the baby’s face with a napkin with a giggle. He even felt a little hint of a green eyed monster make it’s way into his head, as you swayed softly to the music in the room, certain that you were humming along as you always did.
For nearly 3 hours Ignis watched you fawn over the little one, before the backup Nanny finally appeared. Only for the little one to put up quite the fight, reaching out to you, only for you to reach out a finger as his small little hand reached out taking it. Ignis tighten his lips, so as not to smile, as you pressed your forehead to the small hand and if he was reading those beautiful lips correctly, you had whispered.
“Good night my sweet little one.”
Ignis tried to appear that he was paying attention to the man before him, as you waved good bye to the baby, before moving over to his side where you were suppose to be.
“Wouldn’t you agree, Mister Scientia?”
“Yes, impeccably.” Ignis replied, despite not paying attention to the man, as you approached.
“Good evening gentlemen.” You smiled.
“Oh, you are Mr. Scientia assistant, I do thank you for handling my son all evening.” The man replied.
“Yes, the young one is quite the little angel. I do hope that you do not mind if I take Mr. Scientia, we have been requested by the Prince.”
“By all means.”
“Thank you.” You smiled, taking Ignis’s arm as you lead him towards the balcony.
“Is Noct all right?”
“Noctis disappeared about two hours ago with Prompto and their ‘friends’, I assume they’re already at his apartment eating a pizza. As for Gladio and his other, I’m uncertain” You replied, before a smug look appeared on your face, “Yet you would have known that, if you were not so distracted by me this evening, is there something wrong, Mr. Ignis?”
Ignis cleared throat, he hadn’t expected for you to catch him, “I had no idea that you were so wonderful with children.”
“Myself either, this was my first time holding one.” You replied a soft shiver going down your spine. “I typically stay away from children, they frighten me.”
Ignis stared in shock, before chuckling, “You did splendid, Darling.”

Hello~! I gotta first off say how much I love your writing. It's awesome! Now, I was wondering if you could do a reaction to their significant other having pityriasis rosea on their body?(Give it a google if you don't know what it is) I got it recently, and it's all over my torso, legs and arms and it's just awful trying to find things to wear that will hide them. I'm just feeling pretty low about them being there. They last up to two months so I still have a ways to go yet. Thank you so much! x
Hi there! We’re so sorry you had to wait so long for this! We’re just a tad bit backed up on requests. But anyways, we’re so sorry to hear that and we genuinely hope you get better soon! Until then, we hope this makes you feel a little better!
We ♡ you!
-❤ Kat & Sar 💖
How Bts Would React To You Having Pityriasis Rosea
Jungkook: He texts you, “How was your day, sweetheart?” As you read his message, you sit there torn. Should you lie to him and say you’re doing okay, like you have been for the past few days? Or should you finally be honest with him and tell him what’s wrong? You pondered. Eventually, you gave in. You felt bad for lying to him for so long. You don’t like lying, especially to your boyfriend. “Eh…I’ve seen better days. But, it’s okay! Don’t worry about me 💕” You pressed send and hoped he would just dismiss it. Moments later he replies, “No it’s not. I have some free time, I’m coming over. You can tell me what happened then, okay? Love you 💕” You start to panic. “No, Kookie! It’s okay, I swear! You don’t have to!” You didn’t want him to worry. He never responded, which meant he was driving already. You sigh to yourself. Guess he was going to have to find out sooner or later. Next thing you knew, you found yourself standing in front of your boyfriend, telling him at rapid fire everything you’ve been feeling. “I hate it, Jungkook! It’s hard for me to look people in the eyes anymore without feeling so self conscious! I don’t feel pretty, I just feel like I need to cover up and hide and I just-” Suddenly you stopped. You found yourself surrounded by the warmth of his embrace. His arms wrapped around you tighter than ever before. He whispers in your ears, “You’ve never been so wrong…” That’s when it all made sense. Jungkook never stopped thinking you were beautiful.
He didn’t care. And although it’s hard, you shouldn’t either.
Tumblr media
Jimin: You would be at home, trying to just get through this like you always have: alone. You texted your boyfriend Jimin, saying that you weren’t feeling well, when you were actually just hiding. What you didn’t know is that Jimin was on his way to your house, arms full of chocolate and flowers in hope of making you feel better. Once he was there, you opened the door, completely forgetting the fact that, since you were home alone, that you had a tank top and shorts on. Jimin tilts his head in confusion. “What’s that baby?” You look down embarrassed and insecure that he’s seeing you this way, saying that you’re sorry he had to see this. Jimin stares at you for a moment before a soft smile crosses his face. “There’s nothing for you to worry about sweetie, just because you may not have the skin you want, it doesn’t change anything about you or anything I feel about you. I’ll love you no matter what, and I hope you never forget that. You’re beautiful.” He pulls you in for a hug before pulling back. “Now let me in so I can make you feel better. I brought chocolates!” He states, giggling, trying to lighten the mood. Shaking your head and smiling, you let him in. Soon you realize that Jimin is right, this doesn’t change anything about you. “Oh and (Y/N)?” You turn towards Jimin, looking at him questioningly. “If you ever feel insecure ever again, just remember that you aren’t defined by how you look, even though you always look adorable. I may have been drawn in by your adorable smile, but I fell in love with who you are inside.”
“You are strong. And you will get through this. Just know that you are never alone.”
Tumblr media
Taehyung: It’s late at night, and you and Taehyung are on the couch, watching a movie. After half an hour of sitting there, you begin to sweat. But you refuse to take off your jacket, knowing that if you did Taehyung would see what’s underneath. You would slowly slide yourself away from him, sitting at the end of the couch in an attempt to cool yourself off. Noticing this, he speaks up. “Hey, why don’t you come closer, I’m in a cuddly mood.” Shaking your head, you give him a small smile. “Actually, um, I’m okay over here.” “Come on baby, I know you love cuddling. And I especially love cuddling you, don’t make me beg.” He says, giving you his big puppy eyed look. “Not right now Tae, I’m just really hot.” He laughs tugging on your jacket. “That’s because you’re wearing this big thing and sweats. Just take your jacket off.” You give in, knowing that Tae would just find out sooner or later. As soon as you slide it off, he smiles and pulls you closer. You furrow your brows in confusion. “You don’t care about the…” You feel him kiss the top of your head before responding. “Of course not, and I never will. Because you are still the girl I love and will always love. You will always be breathtakingly beautiful and adorable no matter what. Now just let me cuddle my favorite person in the world, okay?” You nod your head, feeling a blush spread across your cheeks as you rest your head on Tae’s chest. You’re drifting off as you hear Tae whisper something into your ear.
“You’ll always be beautiful, no matter what. Don’t ever forget that.”
Tumblr media
Hoseok: You and Hoseok are currently at home. He is on the couch, while you are trying on dresses, trying to find the perfect one since you two are going out on a date. “Oh my gosh! Look at you!” You stare at him in confusion. “What? Is something wrong?” He shakes his head in response, his sunshine of a smile spreading across his face. “God no! How can you be so gorgeous! It must be illegal!” You continue to stare at him. “Uh, what-” “Oh my god how did I get so lucky to have a beautiful girlfriend like you!” “ I’m really not that beautiful.” “No shush! My girlfriend is so cute! Aw!” You blush, a small smile crossing your face. You giggle as Hobi continues to shower you in compliments, saying how he is so lucky and how cute you are. And although it may seem like you don’t care a lot on the outside, Hoseok doesn’t know that on the inside, his words mean the entire world to you. “(Y/N) don’t ever try to deny how gorgeous you are.”
“You are perfect just the way you are.”
Tumblr media
Namjoon: He was the first to notice the marks on your skin. “(Y/N), what happened? Did you have an allergic reaction?” You looked down and saw them for the first time as well. “Oh my gosh! Oh no!” You start to worry. What could have caused this? “I think we may need to take a trip to the doctor’s, (Y/N)…”
The two of you walked through the front door of the apartment you shared, returning from the doctor’s office. You slump onto the couch, frazzled by what the doctor has told you and Namjoon. “What am I going to do, Nam?” You say, sighing to yourself. He sits on the couch beside you, “I know, baby. Don’t worry, the doctor said it will go away after a few months.” You shake your head, “I’m stuck with this! I’m going to have to find ways to cover them up. I guess we need to go clothes shopping.” He furrows his brows at you, “What? Don’t do that! You have nothing to be ashamed about.” You look back up at him, “But-” He cuts you off, “(Y/N), this isn’t something you should be embarrassed of. This is a condition that I’m sure many others have to deal with. But nothing about you has changed. You’re beautiful smile still shines brighter than the sun, your eyes still sparkle like stars. You’re still gorgeous, because nothing about who you are has changed.” Your eyes begin to water from his kind words,
“Don’t ever hide yourself, okay?”
Tumblr media
Yoongi: The two of you were dress shopping for an important event you guys were attending. Hand in hand, you and Yoongi wandered the store in search of the perfect dress. However, each rack you approached you frowned. No…no…definitely no… You sighed to yourself as you moved each dress to the other side of the rack. You decided to try looking at different selection. I guess we’re going to be here for a while. You begin to shuffle the opposite direction before your boyfriend jumps in front of you. “Try this one on, baby!” He says, shoving a dress in your face. You take the hanger in your hand, inspecting the dress. But all you could notice was the lack of sleeves. You gulp, “Um…I don’t know Yoongi maybe this dress isn’t for me?” You meet his eyes, but he turns you around and begins to push you towards the dressing room, “Oh shut up. You look good in anything. Just try it!” Before you could object, he shoved you in the room. “H-hey-” “I won’t let you out until you atleast try it, so you might as well get changing.” He says from the other side of the door. You let out a long sigh, looking over at the daunting dress. Let’s just get this over with.
“Yoongi I’m ready, let me out.” You say begrudgingly. “Let me see.” He opens the door, You slowly step out, feeling awkward. You look up to see a giant grin spread across Yoongi’s face. This confused you, “What?” His grin turns into his famous gummy smile. “Wow~! Look at you~!” He says giggling. You furrow your brows. He takes your hand and lifts it, prompting you to do a little turn. “Wow~! My girlfriend is so pretty~!” You shake your head, “But…I don’t really like it…” His smiles fades slightly, “What do you mean? You look great in it! Why don’t you like it?” You start to look down. He then realizes what you’re thinking.
“I don’t see anything wrong, with you or the dress.”
Tumblr media
Seokjin: The two of you were out at dinner. He convinced you to wear something that didn’t cover it all, like usual. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. But now, you couldn’t help but feel as though everyone was staring. Jin was able to sense how uncomfortable you were. He looks at you with pursed lips. Your head was down, focused on your food. You were barely speaking. An idea suddenly pops in his head. “(Y/N).” He says, grabbing your attention. You hum in response, keeping your head low. “You know where we should go for dessert?” You scrunch your eyebrows slightly, “What? I thought we were having dessert here?” You say, looking at him confused. He chuckles slightly, “Come on.” He says, plopping money on the table. “Wait-” He grabs your hand and drags you out the restaurant, thanking the workers for the food.
You now found yourself sitting on the swings at the park you grew up at with him. It was always a place where you could feel safe, besides whenever you were with Jin. You each had your own pint of ice cream in hand, and shoveled spoonfuls into your mouths. “I hope you feel more comfortable now.” He says to you, breaking the silence. “Huh? What do you mean?” He looks at you, “I know you were feeling uncomfortable in the restaurant earlier.” You giggle slightly, “You know me so well.” You say, smiling down. He chuckles, “Yes, I do.” You both sit in comfortable silence once more. You look up at the stars, wondering how they can be so pretty. You stay like this for a while, but you begin to feel a pair of eyes on you. You look to your right and see him staring at you, but with a sad look on his face. “What’s wrong?” you say. He sets his ice cream down and turns towards you, “Listen, (Y/N). I want you to know you’re still beautiful, okay? I know you may not think it, but I do.”
“And one day you’ll be able to stop caring about how it looks and feel happy in your skin again. I promise.”

Your blog is wonderful! I really love everything you write! Seriously, I get excited each time there's a new piece :)!! Could I get a ship please? I'm a 5'4" blonde girl with blue eyes and I'm into guys lol. I love puppies, coffee, baking, photography, and hiking (so I can take pictures hehe). I'm shy and introverted at first, but very friendly (and sassy) once I get to know you. I'm a perfectionist and hard on myself, but also rather laid back and incredibly optimistic. Thank you so much
Whoa, okay so Noctis and Prompto are kinda arguing about who you would work better with you a nd it’s a tie. So let me start with Prompto!Prompto: He will be so ready to go on picture hunts with you. He will find the weirdest places and snapshots. Like if you're hiking and come across a strange cabin or something Prompto will ask to pose and get a thousand pictures of you.💕 he will love that you are optimistic and friendly, he would connect with you pretty well because of that. He might start talking and it’ll be a minute before he stops too.💕 the love for puppies is a big plus because I think Prompto is more of a dog person. He’ll always try to adopt any animal that he see’s needs a home.( he already made Noctis take care of a bunny for him.) Prompto will always show you cute puppies and ask you what kind you want. ( he’s going to “surprise you by getting you one...everyone see’s it coming just act surprised.) 💕  Prompto is that boyfriend that will have the same plate as you but want what you have because you have it. He’ll steal sips of your coffee, eat the things you bake up and always want to drink your smoothies.( i don’t know why he does this…)💕  Prompto is a loving guy that will take you everywhere with him. Being away from you too long stresses him and makes him sad. He doesn’t want to be separated too long so he’ll snapchat you and DM you on instagram. 💕  Prompto will love having another blonde with him and he will always stare into your eyes. He thinks they're beautiful and will tell you. Prompto will always ALWAYS play in your hair and say it’s the prettiest he’s seen. He love your hair.💕 Prompto get’s crazy protective of you. He won’t let stranger’s get too close to you without him standing in front of you and checking the person out. (he’s hot when he’s looking all intense.)A date with him will be going to some gorgeous trails and taking photos together and finding a strange place to take snaps of or going skating together.💕 Prompto likes that you're short he’ll pick you up all the time and kiss you.he’ll hug your waist and whisper into your ear making jokes and puns.💕 💕He will also like to sit and watch anime with you when he can. He’ll get food and wear his pj’s getting ready for a marathon of animes and movies.💕 Prompto loves youtube so if you're a fan of any youtuber let him know he’ll check them out. He watches music covers and gamers.Noctis: he will enjoy your laid back side. He’s always ready to chill and hangout doing nothing. He understands staying to yourself at first then opening up. But with Noctis you have to go to him first or he’ll just stare at you trying to give you hints that no one knows are hints but Noctis. Go get him!Noctis is sassy and will always end up having a sass off with you. He always has something to say even if it sucks.(it rarely does suck.) You two will playfully banter through a lot of the day.You're shortness is also cute to Noctis too. He’ll talk about how short you are and tease you but all you have to do is say he’s short too. He’ll stop then, and try and say something witty but you got him there.Being a perfectionist will push him to do better too. Gladio will bring up how hard you try at things all the time and Noctis will try and show his stuff too. Everyone always talks about how you won’t stop trying until you get whatever it is down. Noctis might get a little mad at how you one up him by accident a lot. So he’ll stop half-assing all the time. Noctis wants to eat your bakery goods every time you make them. He’s the first in the kitchen and is proud to be. So what if Gladio thought he was gonna get first taste.nope, not with Noctis around. He loves it when you cook too. Eats all the food with a smile if it doesn't have vegetables in it or severed with it.To make you laugh he would try to dance to trap music and only do this in private because he knows it’s embarrassing. He always tries to cheer you up if you have a bad day. He’ll take you shopping, chocobo riding, out to eat anything to make you happy.Noctis would get you a pet kitten one day and you wouldn’t know until you go to your room in the palace. He’ll leave it on your bed with a bow on it and have a sweet loving note next to it. (plz don’t be allergic to cats. If you are, picture another cute animal.) he’ll have a great time seeing your reaction to it. Noctis will be so happy when he has a ball to go to and he doesn’t have to dance with random royal girls anymore. He’ll dance with you and love it.  He can’t believe how much fun he’s having at one of these lame balls. He’ll happily tell other women to back off and walk by your side offering you his arm. (Noooooo, he’s not showing you ooffff~)Noctis is taking you fishing and you are now his personal gaming buddy. ( umbra likes to cuddle at your side while you play games with your boyfriend.)It’s hard going to formal events with this man cuz he makes everything funny. (He heard that voice crack in his father’s speech,he saw the drunk man fall over, he see’s everything and laughs at everything. Just don’t look at him. You’ll be fine) but it’s gonna hard to not look at him, he’s sexy. Just try or you’ll be laughing all night at the worse times,I’m sorry but they're equally perfect for you….YOU have to choose😢….happy choosing😈 (i’m leaning towards Prompto though for your bae.) thank you soooo so much for liking my writing. it’s fun and makes me happy to know that people like what I write!
