I've been wanting to keep kosher-style for a while, but I think something that helps is replacing one very non-kosher item with something either kosher or something closer to being kosher. Instead of making all your non-kosher meals kosher, perhaps replacing one meal with kosher items might be better and more helpful in the long-run for instance. I'm amazed at how many things I eat that are already kosher, but I do want to be more mindful at least, as I do want to keep kosher when I am done converting. Being proactive as a convert-in-progress is important to me, and I want to give others some ways to go about their journey if they're like me

If you're also on the journey to keeping kosher, I wish you well. I hope maybe, we can think up together about how to achieve that goal 🩵

im ngl im really stressed rn but its just normal school stress, im trying to make some time for painting and drawing between school then evening classes and yk, eating and sleeping, which is optional, i did write a lil poem in the back of my notebook so that counts for something

what is really bugging me rn is that today in class we were talking abt entrance exams i realised college is not a blurry daydream anymore infact, its very clear and NOW is the time to decide what i wanna do. welp. thats gonna occupy my brain the rest of the year

overall im doing good, just bored all day and wondering what my future will look like, the usual <3

i would pay good money for themed holidays like "a week in the shoes of a middle age german peasant", "a week as an egyptian royal scribe", "a week following classes at an Italian renaissance school". complete with period appropriate attire, meals, housing, environment, hygiene routine and technology. no exterior influence at all. actors for all the surrounding jobs, cooking, etc.

they could even make special ones, for example "a week as a spartan in the agoge" if you want to build muscle or something.

Gonna be fun figuring out how I want to layer them this time :D And I might have an idea for a redesigned spearhead, too! :D Emphasis on "might," though, it hasn't solidified into a picture in my head, just "base it on a hummingbird since Knell is hummingbird themed!"

Might also have to redo her belt links since those are based on starlings, not hummingbirds. Then again I might not, because I'm super proud of that belt, and you can barely even see it! XD

duolingo is good for learning new vocab words and fucking nothing else also its riddled with grammatical errors in pretty much anything but spanish french and german xoxo. anyways sorry to come to your inbox with duolingo hate

No dude god I used to be so into Duolingo and it's really upsetting how it is now

Before I got into Japanese, I was learning Norwegian through Duolingo starting back around 2013. I'd always wanted to study another language and it drove me bananas that the American school system sux so bad at teaching them. I picked Norwegian because it was, at the time, the longest non-Spanish/French/German course and the icon was three giant-ass swords (Sverd i fjell) and I love big sword.

Anyway, I got REALLY FAR into the course and Duolingo just kept rolling out these changes that made things worse and worse as time went on lol Some of the stuff was pretty good, like when they got rid of random photos for vocabulary questions and switched to illustrations. But they kept tweaking the trees and making modules longer without making them better, then started putting things behind paywalls that used to be free features, launching new courses instead of finishing existing ones...

I switched to Japanese around 2016 and that tree was a hot mess, they absolutely rushed it out to get people to download the app for the Olympics held in Japan at the time. Funnily enough, the main contributor to the Norwegian course ended up going to the Japanese course. The version of the tree near when I stopped using it was finally getting kinda alright.

And then they went from a branched tree to a straight line. Literally why. I was about halfway through the course and it dumped me onto random modules with content I hadn't learned yet.

Duolingo is so close to being a wonderful learning app but it's clear that they just want people to subscribe and buy the microtransactions and that they don't actually care about teaching or preserving languages. If they did, the Navajo and Hawaiian courses wouldn't have launched in such threadbare shape and then sat like that since, while the High Valerian and Klingon courses updated.

Gods it's been ten whole years since I first began my lifelong hyperfixation with Genesis and I STILL have yet to actually listen to any of their pop-era albums in full (besides the Self-Titled Shapes Album and Invisible Touch)

It's not like I'm one of those fans who genuinely believe "pHiL CoLLiNs rUinEd gEnEsIS!!1!" or any of that crap, I think I just have to accept the fact that their 80's albums for most part really don't appeal to me...
