#n o t me clinging to meoto to retain my sanity bc g o o d l o r d today was the worst #today was truly a very bad; very horrible day indeeeeeeed #man. today truly was a comedic tragedy in every way possible. i’d laugh if i were anyone else tbh #first i couldn’t start my workstation bc we were out of this cleaning acid thing.#t h e n this other branch lab sent over a precise amount of [reagent] that we needed to make the cleaning acid thing #*and* what’s worse was that they also demanded like. 1/5 of the acid we mixed. like bro. make it yourself mans.#but the worst part was when i tried to use a dropper to poke this sediment out of [tube i was supposed to be cleaning]#bUT THEN HALF OF THE DROPPER MELTED BC THAT BUGGER CAN’T HANDLE HIGH TEMPERATURES AAAAAAAAAAAAAA #stupid new droppers man. the old droppers could handle 100 degrees just fine. s o now the tube is clogged with melted plastic and it’s just.#life’s *really* great sometimes yk~~~~? i have once again been discriminated against for my accent

#i’m kidding it’s not discrimination at all it’s just #i live in rio de janeiro right. and we have a very specific accent that’s different from all other states #we drag our sentences (so it sounds a bit lazy??) and we pronounce our S like an X #like. take the word ‘bolas’ (balls). we say bolash while literally every other state just says bolas like the S in the word ‘say’#anyway. our accent makes us sound like players somehow; it’s hard to explain #and the carioca (means from rio) stereotype is that we always find shortcuts to everything; to get what we want without working for it #and it’s partially true tbh #but for some reason (i have no idea why) my accent specifically is very very strong (& i only found out ab it a few weeks ago)#and it makes me sound even more of a ‘player’. i asked ppl to be honest w me ab it and they said i sound like #a drug dealer or someone ‘shady’ that works w something illegal #and like i’m lazy and don’t care ab anything and maybe don’t take things seriously #and i mean all of it is true. kind of #but it’s shit that ppl can guess all my flaws just bc of my accent #sorry im rambling i’m so annoyed by this. i’d change if i could but idk how to speak differently fr #and ab my flaws. well i know i /can/ change them but idk how. i’m trying and i hope i become less lazy and more interested in serious thing #(cause yk. my biggest flaw is that i can’t bring myself to give a fuck ab the things i should care ab like responsibilities and shit)#god i’m rambling again im just so ughhh #text #giocore #about me #language

specifically looking at the hewitts since granted i know more on the remakes than the others but,

the hewitts only got vague, limited police action looking into them in '03 after erin chops thomas' arm off and gets away. and even though theres' coverage of it and everything, that literally ONLY happens after 4-5 straight years of the hewitts doing what they do, from 69-73 in terms of solely the remake timeline.

that's still a shitton of time to be ACTIVELY killing people to y'know. not fucking die yourselves. then combine that with the sawyers - their additional family members, their own trails of ruthlessness added into the mix, and this entire combined family unit likely has kill counts all around in the hundreds if not even way past that.

but even with the police involvement in the remakes?

its all SO SLOPPY, its hardly conducted with any real CARE about their own well-beings. like??? ya'll went into that house while THOMAS was STILL THERE... didnt even SECURE THE HOUSE.....

and even with the found footage? no arrests, presumably. the remaining hewitts are still at large, thomas is still at large. like... all ya'll did was corral them to their fucking confusing ass tunnel system and made luda (if we count the comics) far more involved and ruthless in the actual killings than she was in the movies lol

and yes technically speaking with charlie's death that could sever the stronghold they've got on the police and sheriffs' around them - but at the same time - how bad would it look of them to SUDDENLY flip a switch and try to unpack the years worth of missing persons, cold cases, murders, kidnappings, break-ins, assaults, etc etc that they swept under the rug? that's WAY too much man power, esp for back then. no one is gonna do that shit.

so. i truly dont think they have much to worry about even in the event of charlie dying - because the fear and influence they've instilled stands for law enforcement to continue to do fuck all - to save and cover their own asses.

#prolly loooooooong and incoherent rant incoming pls stand b y #so like… i very stupidly embarrassed myself to the point of tears at work today. but it wasn’t even my fault i s w e a r #a bunch of us ordered food via this delivery app for lunch bc the food options around the workplace kinda suck #but then this person who ordered a similar order to mine ate my food by mistake ಥ‿ಥ #and bc i have no impulse (and volume) control… i… immediately ran out of the break room to voice my complaint to the dude who ordered it #unfortunately for me… the big boss of the workplace was ✨right there✨ as well and she popped in to 👀👀 in on the situation too #thanks to that… my complaint of disbelief got way out of hand (with the boss plotting to exchange my food with someone else’s and stuff…)#the dude who ordered the food also repeatedly offered to buy me something else instead which was big aaaa i’m s o sorry for blowing this up—#and so i… got so embarrassed that i cried. i think my face remained bright red for an entire hour. which made it even more embarrassing…#as for the coworker who stole my lunch… i extorted the price diff and offered to enact ✨physical violence✨ (read: i cracked my knuckles)#so i’m content… maybe. (ʘ‿ʘ) my grudge will never disappear. (ʘ‿ʘ)#but then one of the interns screwed up biiiig time a couple of hours after that so maybe(?) this incident won’t remain in my boss’s memory?#i hope so at least… lol. _(:3 」∠)_#it is suiyoubi my dudes #(using my wednesday tag bc half an hour is pretty insignificant as a whole)
