i can give some general advice, sure! heres a quick rundown of how i personally started when looking to refine my anatomy. you can kinda tell im more comfortable freehanding it at this point, but starting tracing over reference images is good too!

everything is made up of shapes, even if you have to break it down a couple of times. get those shapes down and you can draw anything--organic objects (like humans) generally just need the hard lines smoothed out.

references are your best friend--look at bodies and draw lots of bodies. i honestly recommend doing nude/unclothed studies--line of action is a great resource for online studies. if im looking for pose suggestions/references, googles gonna be your best best. i like 'candid 2000s photography' which gives me interaction poses with multiple people in less stiff posing and compositions. i oftentimes use myself as well, and i recommend you to just take pictures of yourself for ref if you cant find something in particular you want :)

im not sure if im the best for advice because most my art teaching came from googling tutorials and whatnot, but this is mostly what ive done in my own art journey to further my anatomy skills :D

on anon bc i've always been afraid to ask in case this is offensive but why are double mastectomies referred to as top surgery? is it a dysphoric thing? or is it just shorthand /gen

'Top surgery' is a generalised term because there are multiple different kinds of surgery you can get, most of them depending on stuff like size and what you yourself want out of it. There's keyhole surgery, periareolar and (the most commonly known one) double incision. The last two both fall under 'double masectomy.'

In General: people say 'top surgery' instead of just 'double masectomy' because there are different kinds of ways to get top surgery! It's also just a more casual way of talking about it (as you said, shorthand!) and is used solely by and for the trans community. Same applies to bottom surgery!

hi!! kind of a weirdly specific question but i was wondering what kind of clubs/extracurriculars you did in your undergrad that you decided to include on your law school applications? i'm in a couple clubs but with the new school year coming up i'm trying to broaden my horizons so to speak :)

hi anon!! thanks for the ask--i'm always glad to offer any advice/share about law school and applying to law school, just because i know how hella stressful that time period can be!

i included all the clubs that i had some position in--which was easy, because by the time i was applying to law school, i was on the leadership team for all the orgs i was a part of. so for me, that was the school newspaper, the literary magazine, as well as a religious group. but on top of that, i also included some heavy research projects that i did--because in my junior and senior years of college, i pursued a research fellowship that had to do with criminal law. i also included internships that i held (like teaching poetry to kids in the juvenile justice system), part-time jobs (an office position, a theater position), and the like.

so, outside of those research fellowships + internships, there's probably not a lot here that might seem obviously relevant to a law school application. however, the beauty of law school--as i'm sure you already know--is that you don't have to pursue a specific major or have a specific background in order to go to law school. however, i do think that the organizations i was a part of demonstrated to law schools that

a) i have decent time management skills (because doing research, as well as working two part-time jobs, and being on the e-board for three different orgs while applying to law schools demonstrates that) and

b) i have a genuine appreciation and interest in writing (because my orgs were very specific to that) and

c) i know how to collaborate with different people.

so really, if the orgs you're a part of have something that can demonstrate those kinds of traits, then i'd say you're in good shape. (now, of course, if you write something in your law school personal statement that you want to go to law school to pursue . . . idk, patent prosecution work, then i would hope you had something on your resume to demonstrate that: like maybe you were a part of a science-based org or you're pursuing a degree in a hard science, something like that).

tl;dr: i included all my orgs, which was easy, because i had leadership roles in all of the orgs i was actively involved in / don't worry about finding the club that would impress law schools the most subject-matter wise--just make sure you've got something to talk about via those clubs, especially with regards to leadership, collaboration, etc. and also, don't forget about the relevance of any research projects / thesis projects / part-time jobs!

keep seeing undergrads on social media saying “oh if a prof has a strict no-AI academic integrity policy that’s a red flag for me because that means they don’t know how to design assignments” like sorry girl but that just sounds like you’ve got a case of sour grapes about not being allowed to cheat with the plagiarism machine that doesn’t know how to evaluate sources and kills the environment! I have a strict no-AI policy because if you use AI to write your essays for a writing course it’s literally plagiarism because you didn’t write it and you’re not learning any of the things the course teaches if you just plug a prompt into the plagiarism generator that kills the environment, hope this helps!

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)

When Senshi was young in the dungeon the majority of the adults he were with ostracized him. All except Gillin, who died to make sure Senshi had something to eat: unseasoned boiled meat that may or may not have been one of their comrades.

It really puts into perspective why he was so nurturing towards Chilchuck. When Chil reveals he’s 28 to the party, Senshi responds by telling him that he thought he was older. Senshi was in his 30s when he and his comrades got trapped in the dungeon, so it’s safe to assume that he thought Chil was at a similar age.

He met a young boy who was, from his perspective, forced to do dangerous work in the dungeon just like he was, and so, Senshi made an effort to look after Chilchuck in the same way Gillin looked after him.

Mind you, when Senshi was young in the dungeon he had to starve for weeks, eat the horse he loved, and finish it off spending the next i don’t know how many years wondering if he committed cannibalism.

Senshi understands first hand the value of nutrition and proper eating, so when he’s with the party he makes an effort to make sure they’re all eating a full and balanced diet. Not only that, but Senshi INVOLVES them in the process of getting food to eat, always preparing it in front of them and narrating every ingredient in the process so that there’s no doubt about what they’re eating.

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.

however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.
