weird constant "no u" argument everywhere. no it's not the channie incels who popularized doxxing to get back at random girls they hated with zero repercussions, it was the crazy sjws. no it's not a caricature and in fact if you think caricatures are racist YOU'RE the real racist for associating the caricature with whatever it's mocking. no it's not rightwing conservos banning literature and art it's the woke censorship army. no it's not the endless streak of politicians actors church leaders etc in positions of power who are sexually abusing the vulnerable, it's trans people who are groomers. and this is not to say MY SIDE never does these things and it's actually all THE OTHER SIDE & it's true that a lot of leftists cover shit behavior with ideology but it does get to be a little insane when people are just deluded into thinking this, when prior to le culture war engagement it's the people who are spouting all this shit now that have been and still are the ones who were infamous for doing all this shit. but now somehow the no u-ing worked it's literally the most effective tactic ever apparently and it drives me insane not going to lie

The Ascent of Lying
Why, Mordor people? Why do you lie?
Is it stupidity? Hunger Greed for clicks? That #silly, #silly itch to be FIRST? And RIGHT?
The Ascent of Lying started in this fandom with *urv. Her Google sources, her undying obsession for S (and the mandatory hypocrisy that comes along with it), her paltry stories fit for people who never took a flight overseas in their entire life (not something bad at all, but in this context, this makes you incredibly fragile), her remake of the Twilight fandom hullaballoo and her chutzpah.
It continued with Jess, on this side of the fandom: her OTT girlish enthusiasm, her elusiveness IRL and finally, her capitulation and resurrection, under the same name, but with a totally opposed POV. For perhaps you don't know it, but Jess 2.0 has been back since quite a while ago, now making amends about her former strong beliefs. Even taking full responsibility for some 'receipts' (remember the S lemon pin/wedding ring one? she confirmed it was her and it probably was a #silly, horrible lie). How convenient and how depressing, isn't it? Reading her new, sparse blog brought along two firm thoughts: why this need to robotically inform us about her happiness and her change of heart? Also, how many Anons did Jess 2.0 send, since her comeback, to this side of the fandom?
Let this disappointment be my sin, then and let the link to her new hole in the wall remain undisclosed by this page. I have no wish to either start a flaming war, nor give this woman more space than she deserves:
Tumblr media
You'll have to deal with the very childish LMAO and this completely irresponsible explanation: 'it was fun to fantasize at the time'. No, lady: you LIED. You lied through your teeth and because you had the privilege of having a thirsty audience, you thoroughly enjoyed this strange avatar of fame, as you say it publicly yourself, now. You even were, most probably, heavily used by ***'s PR and even S (that is a very firm belief), just like another very fragile individual, who switched sides in a far more vocal and pathetic way. That makes for a mixed bag of truths and lies, something I think we all are way too familiar with, by now. But that does not preclude, nor excuse in any shape or form, your eagerness to ahem, 'embellish" a very real love story and twist it according to your naivete and parochial life experience. Morally, you are 0, to me: a sentimental troll, completely on par with *urv.
I could blather on and on about Jess's main competitor, Puffy, too. I think I already wrote enough about her, if only because many believed me to be her latest avatar, which is completely ridiculous, but ridiculous with an agenda. So, did Puffy lie, too? Probably, especially while creating Stella and Deep Throat out of thin air. Let's agree she heavily extrapolated, which is a shame, because some of her analysis is really spot on.
The Ascent of Lying then morphed, along with an US busy social and political agenda being more and more sensitive to the 'fake news" issue, towards the Factchecker Anti blogs, who mimicked neutrality and promoted online stalking to unprecedented levels. Along came people like Meowkabob, who even manufactured their own facts/evidence and released them online. That was perfectly premeditated and done for increased credibility (I have debunked her shite last fall, if you remember), being fully aware that her libel could not be justified only by a prior, questionable, 'London experience', of which we conveniently have no concrete details. The other blog, you all know and sometimes visit: whether she is a PR plant or lonely rider doesn't really matter, yet a stalker and a hypocrite in her own right, too. The fact that both these persons suddenly felt an urge to express themselves during the heavily conspiratorial climate of the first COVID pandemic wave is not innocent at all, I think.
Lying is the real Uncharted Territory of this fandom and one of the main reasons we seldom have nice things to talk about, anymore. I barely scratched its surface and merely stated the obvious. If anything, it only comforted and strengthened my own beliefs, which I always strived to base on personal findings and facts, along with other likeminded people's experience. And I'd rather take the general brunt and simply say 'I don't know", than embellish. Also, when I am wrong, I am wrong: it happens to the best of us and it's always either immediately edited and explained or taken full responsibility for.
What I do know with a reasonable degree of certainty is that These Two are together. And this is all that matters to me, justifying my presence here.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. There's more, but here is just an overview of the sentiments that prompted my next investigation.

Oliver's last conversations with each of Farleigh, Felix, and Venetia are so consistently fascinating to me. Each of Farleigh and Venetia think that they are calling Oliver out, forcing him to face the harsh truths of his own insignificance, while Oliver stands passively by and lets them reveal their own hypocrisy before revealing the true fragility of their positions, the power that he has over their lives.
Farleigh towers over Oliver, belittling him against the backdrop of this party that is supposedly for Oliver and is full of people whose regard for Oliver spans from indifference to outright hostility. Yet while he thinks that he's giving Oliver his victory speech, gloating over the fact that it is Farleigh, not Oliver, who will stay at Saltburn after this summer, he's also admitting to the tenuous nature of his own position there. "I was invited," he tells Oliver, when Oliver questions his presence at the party, along with, "I'll always come back," and, "This is my house."
The contradiction that Farleigh doesn't even realize he's admitted to, however, is that people don't have to be invited back to their house. He's always been as much a guest as Oliver, but he's the one who can't face the possibility of getting kicked out for good. Thus, Farleigh is the one who is really clinging to hope instead of action, the one who will never be fighting quite as hard as Oliver to ensure that possibility doesn't come true.
Farleigh gloats over Oliver's loss and takes Oliver's silence as proof that he is right. When really, Oliver doesn't gloat or bluster or protest. Oliver listens to what people tell him, and then Oliver acts.
It's the same thing we see in Oliver's confrontation with Venetia in the bathtub after Felix's funeral.
Venetia is clearly devestated by her brother's loss, and she is looking for someone to lash out at. And what a convenient, easy target Oliver seems to make. So polite, so soft-spoken, so awkward and innocent and small.
A harmless moth, batting up against the windows. At the same time, a parasite, consuming what wasn't his to take. Eating holes in her family - her family who would have greedily consumed every last drop of the sad, pitiful life he fed them for their own amusement, before casting him aside like a moth-eaten sweater abandoned in the back of a closet.
She calls him out, too, for wearing Felix's aftershave (but not the fact that he's wearing Felix's bathrobe, interestingly enough), while she's the one sprawled in Felix's bathtub. "I bet you're even wearing his underwear," she tells him scornfully, and he kisses her to prove that she'll still kiss him back, that for all her mocking words she's just as desperate as he is to cling to any scraps of Felix left behind. That for all her words to the contrary, he is a scrap of Felix left behind.
And then the harmless moth puts holes in her wrists, puts her in a hole in the ground, and walks away.
In contrast, the confrontations with Farleigh and Venetia make Oliver's confrontation with Felix in the maze all the more devastating in a different way.
With Felix, Oliver isn't quiet. He isn't timid or passive or small, and he is trying desperately not to listen when it's Felix telling him to go away, to stop, to give up, with nothing else he can latch onto for hope of a different outcome. With Felix, Oliver shouts, he protests, he snarls. He loses control of his voice and his body, even pins Felix up against the minotaur statue while he begs Felix to listen to him because he doesn't know what else to do; all he has are these words that he desperately wants to be true, that Felix doesn't want to hear.
It's Felix who is forced into silence while Oliver talks, and it is Felix who finally sees the truth that Oliver can't bear to face in himself.
It's Felix who tells Oliver, "You make my fucking blood run cold."
And he's the only one who gets it right.

Jason is Slade's sidekick. Dick is Bruce's sidekick. Jason is perpetually ribbing Dick for his morning walks of shame out of Slade's lair apartment. So he's mortified when Dick catches him trying to drop off the second storey balcony after a night with Bruce.
"Oh," the voice above him purrs, dragging out to an obnoxious number of syllables. "This is just rich."
Jason's head whips up, pinpointing where Dick leans against the balcony railing, cutting an impressive figure in the stark moonlight. The wind tugs the hair away from those burning blues eyes, that smug smile out in full force as he leers down at the caught rogue.
Jason clings tightly to the railing bars, and feels his face wash white. "It's not what it looks like."
Dick cradles his cheek in one palm, elbow propped up on the balustrade. "Oh, I'm so ready to hear this. Do tell me why you're sneaking off Bruce's juliette balcony at three in the morning."
For all his careful planning and desperate stalling, Jason hadn't actually taken the time to think up an excuse for why he's clinging to the side of Wayne Manor in the wee hours of the morning. It's the sort of short-sightedness Slade would cuff him over the head for, but if Jason can play his cards right, maybe Slade won't ever need to find out.
"I'm robbing him," Jason blurts out.
"Of what, his virginity?"
Jason's nose scrunches. "Bruce isn't a virgin."
Dick's grin grows monumentally. "Happy to verify that, are you?"
Jason opens his mouth, recognises the trap, and firmly closes it. "I stole his watch." It's partially true.
Dick hums in disagreement. "A thief like you had to climb all the way into Bruce Wayne's bedroom to steal a wristwatch? The calibre of pickpockets just ain't what it used to be."
He levels a glare at the older boy, abruptly defensive. "You're one to talk. How many times have I caught you slinking out of Slade's apartment?"
"And you've tormented me each and every time," Dick acknowledges. "So I'm sure you can understand why I plan on milking this opportunity to expose your hypocrisy."
"Or," Jason bargains, forlornly hopeful, "you could bond with me over this shared embarassment."
Dick pauses to consider, but Jason doesn't buy the act for a minute. "No, I think I'm going to enjoy threatening you first."
Jason winces, knuckles tight on the metal bars. "Please don't tell Slade."
"You're supposed to say that after I threaten to tell him."
"I didn't squeal to Bruce," Jason points out with the flash of a glare in Dick's direction. "Don't snitch on me."
"Who said anything about snitching? I think you and I can build a beautifully mutually beneficial relationship out of this."
Jason's, "Go on," is hesitant.
"Harder for both our mentors to catch either of us if they're both occupied," Dick proposes, waggling his brows for emphasis. "So how about, I text you when I want you out of the apartment. And you text me when you want me out of the manor. And we both learn to read between the lines, hm?"
"You want me to booty call you," Jason deadpans.
Dick snorts, and manages to look aggravatingly good-looking doing it. "Of a sort, yes."
Jason doesn't trust Robin as far as he can throw him, and he supposes the feeling is more or less mutual. This isn't a relationship built on trust, and the convenience will only last as long as neither of them get caught.
But those are better odds than what Jason's playing with right now.
"Give me your phone," Jason bites out, and Dick fishes into the back pocket of his jeans for his cell, promptly handing it over.
Jason tucks in close to the railing with one arm, manoeuvring until he can punch his number into Dick's contact list under Ravager.
"If you text me for any other reason," Jason warns, handing back the phone, "this deal is over. I'm not your friend, Robin."
Dick gives him a two finger salute, and then offers his open hand.
Jason doesn't take it. "What's that for?"
"I'm giving you a hand back up," Dick purrs. "I'm heading out, so you need to get in there. If you catch my drift."
"Oh my god," Jason sneers. "I hate you."
But he takes the proffered hand and lets Dick haul him up onto the balcony, watching the vigilante hook a leg over the railing he's just scaled.
"I'll be back around six. Keep him occupied for me. I'll owe you one," he says with a wink, and throws himself into the night.
Jason thinks this is the beginning of a terrible relationship.

I "like" how people are sure that Connor becoming a deviant is and should be entirely Markus' achievement, and not Hank's. After all, Markus said only a few beautiful words that he spoke to each android he saw, and that’s all. But at the same time, people forget that Markus can stop trusting Connor right after this and kills him in the church. People forget that North could be in Markus' place. And that Connor could become a deviant even with her doing the same thing. But they still pretend that it was Markus who did something special for Connor, not Hank. It's funny that after all these words about Connor being a person, Markus is still able to kill him in cold blood. Just like he can kill Simon on the roof. It's a choice of the player but it is still a choice and and option. I am amused by the hypocrisy with which people forget about this. Yes, you can refer to the conventions of the game, but excuse me, essentially the whole game is one big convention. You cannot conveniently ignore one thing and use the other to prove your point.
People say that Hank means nothing because he himself only recently began to understand that androids are alive, but they forget that Markus became a deviant just a few days before. People conveniently forget that Markus can betray his people while Hank will stand by the androids until the end, even if he and Connor are enemies. That is, according to people, it is stupid to want Hank to be the reason of Connor’s deviation (although Hank and Connor essentially help each other change and Hank is the one who pushes Connor to deviate, the one who sees him as a living being), but to want Markus (who Connor sees for the first time) to be the reason of his deviation is so right, despite the fact that there is a choice in the church to kill Connor, despite all the sweet words about “Connor, you are more than just a machine.” Seriously? This is despite the fact that Hank, as a human, has more reasons to fear androids, because they kill humans, and Markus has no reason to kill Connor in the church, because deviants, by all logic, must not be able to betray their own kind.
At least, that should be the case, but once again, Markus still has the choice to betray his people, while Connor in the church hasn't shown that he is capable of betrayal. He helped the androids escape, he himself became a CyberLife's enemy and what for? To get shot in the head after "Connor, you are a person and deserve more"? Such people usually bring the bridge scene up, because Hank can shoot Connor too. But Hank does this, not knowing whether Connor can be alive, while Markus can kill a deviant Connor, who has already proven that he is on the side of his kind.
This could be debated forever, but I personally don't see anything wrong with thinking/wanting that it would have been better for Connor to become a deviant because of Hank.

I am a firm believer that their gaming videos are canon to lore. There was an episode and I can't remember if it was on Tsams or Tlaes but basically Lunar told Solar that he has to record a gaming video with Earth and just zooms out of the daycare because he only has 20-something minutes before the daycare opens. So yeah, I believe that pretty much solidified that whatever happened or was said in gaming videos are included in canon lore. It's just annoying to see people pick and choose which gaming videos are canon to conveniently support their theories, and worse, pushing that onto others and saying that their theory is fact. Theory is theory. Fact is fact. You can't say, "This piece of information in this gaming video is canon because in my theory, blablabla" and then when you see another person's theory that is using information from a gaming video and you don't agree with them, your hypocrisy jumps up, "ActUalLy ☝️🤓 gaming videos aren't canon to lore" Like, shut yo face. This is why it's hard to be around self-proclaimed theorists. They are either the most pretentious person you come across or the most hypocritical person.

This ask is going to be kind of long, but your platform is really the only platform where I feel comfortable having this conversation. You don’t have to post this if you don’t want to, I won’t feel any sort of ways about it, but I’ve got to get this feeling out of my system. The way the fandom treats Fates compared to the other games in the franchise, makes them completely unbearable. I don’t think I can forgive the fandom for it even if they did somehow start giving Fates its overdue credit. Treating its fans like shit for almost a decade is unacceptable. I don’t know how so many people can justify their behavior in regards to this game. The fans of this game have literally done nothing to the fandom other than love it unapologetically, and we still get condescended to about it. You dare offer your opinion about a take in the series and it’s like, “You’re a Corrin fan, you have no right to talk about anything.” I have never seen a group of fans that have to literally HIDE the fact that they cherish a game in order to appease its larger community, it’s so disgusting. I don’t care if I’m being harsh with this ask because I have witnessed and dealt with this condescension for years. I don’t care to spare any feelings at this point, and I think the fandom certainly doesn’t deserve any of our grace either. Calling out the elitism, cliquish behavior, and hypocrisy is the right thing to do no matter how much some people soften/normalize these issues.
Hope you don't mind me posting this anon.
It's certainly an unfortunate situation. While Fates has its problems--I say this as a diehard fan--I agree in that it's in a singular situation where it's just met with derision initially and only given praise in backhanded manners. Think "Fates sucks but it does have great X and Y" and including an obligatory compliment towards Conquest. Which, don't get me wrong, Conquest is fucking amazing in the gameplay department, but half the time I'm just like... all right, I think you're just pretending to like anything of Fates just because you feel obligated to like one of the most acclaimed gameplay centered entries in the series.
There was just the perfect storm of controversy and unmet expectations that people had towards the game: the woefully inaccurate conversion therapy accusations, the romance options, the sales model of having multiple versions, the story not being liked, Corrin not being liked, the cast being seen as tropey, the fanservice hatred, etc. Its reputation from pre-release to nearly a decade after release is just a swamp of negativity.
And, in risk of sounding defensive and deflective, Awakening did most of this first. Awakening used being gay as a constant punchline especially in DLC (but people are reclaiming that now as something to be praised cuz of course), Awakening had problematic romance options (Nowi, any of the children but especially Nah, Donnel, Ricken, and Lissa are still underage, Aversa is technically your sister and she's written in the M!Robin support to tease that aspect, Tharja in her entirety), Awakening's cast was the de facto tropey cast before Fates, its story was criticized for the same things Fates was (poorly explained lore and world, pacing issues, convenient plot devices, pandering to a previous game, and had its exclusive issue of being inconsistent with Archanea's lore), Robin was criticized for being an all loved player insert with too many powers/importance, it started the oddly designed armor designs for fanservice reasons, and while it didn't have multiple versions, it was the first game with a ton of paid DLC.
Don't get me wrong, I love Awakening to pieces. But that game started pretty much everything Fates gets shit for. Yet it gets retrospective love or at the very least a pass cuz... Fates does it worse/more and because it was gonna be the last game in the series? Wouldn't it be fair then, to give slack to Fates for following in the footsteps of the most well received and successful game in the series by replicating it while trying to improve on what some felt were lacking? But I guess at that point, people think it utterly failed in improving on the story and characters so :/
I think you have a point regarding Fates fans as well. We're pretty much the only FE fans that get unironic negative labels, at least by casual aduiences. Apparetnly we're "coomer, porn brain freaks who don't know what good games are." Though, that's about it in terms of the elitism thing, otherwise I think it's just fans of older games being out off by the direction newer games have gone, and most make no distinction and criticize all of Awakening, Fates, 3H, and Engage. Still, Fates fans are the ones getting the most accepted flak.
To end this off, let's be honest: If Fates is the example most people give of the worst game in the series, FE fans have it pretty fucking good lmao.

my issue with "stans" and people who like Billy or any other Stranger Things Guy is not that they like him, sympathize with him, headcanon him, whatever, (I know nothing I say can talk you out of liking them but it's fine, to each their own) it's the rampant hypocrisy yall like to spout I am SO sick of it
I appreciate that y'all want to take a nuanced look at the source material, but you can't cherry-pick what parts of the narrative you want to acknowledge !!
y'all want to talk about classism and ableism within the show, which i admire! those are super interesting themes in Stranger Things!! but you all REFUSE to acknowledge or interpret the themes surrounding racism, misogyny, and cycles of abuse and it discredits any argument yall wanna make about your special little guys.
I can acknowledge that Billy is a survivor of his father's abuse, I can see that he is a complex and interesting character and I don't care that you guys like him for this! but what y'all conveniently like to omit is that he chose to perpetuate the abuse he faced onto Max. he could have forged a relationship with her like his literal narrative foil, Johnathan, did with Will in the face of their abusive father, but he didn't and that was His Choice.
or the common argument about Nancy and ableism for example! (and before yall come for my ass, yes, i am autistic.)
when Nancy is rude to Robin one (1) time, it's not because she's an overwhelmed teenager who just lost another friend and has had to face so much doubt in her ideas thanks to the men in her life and is just now trying to forge friendships again, it's because she's a master manipulator ableist obviously.
So, if y'all care about Nancy getting annoyed with Robin, where are the posts shunning Steve for being mean to Robin? calling Robin hyper? for telling Nancy that Robin has "problems"? for letting Robin run off into the Upside Down alone? is that not more ableist than Nancy getting annoyed with Robin for talking a lot in a high-stress situation?
Do you see the issue?
how are y'all willing to excuse Billy for attacking actual children but aren't willing to provide that same grace towards Nancy when she protects those same children with her life?
you ask us to see the truth behind the actions of Billy and Steve yet condemn Nancy for every mistake in the same breath? what exactly is the line between a traumatized teenager and a monster in your mind?
you claim that Nancy is evil and classist towards Johnathan but ignore the sexism (which is literally. the main conflict. of their relationship. they don't understand each other), neglect, and parentification she faced. you wax poetic that Billy is so misunderstood but ignore the way he routinely tormented Max and attacked Lucas for dating Max, which both the Duffer Brothers and Caleb himself said is meant to be racially motivated.
y'all make up so many reasons to forgive and excuse the men of the narrative for their behavior but do not allow female characters the same grace and it is so. annoying. y'all want to be this cool nuanced fan safe space but you just pull the same shit as a dudebro movie buff echo chamber and I'm soooo done with it.

Armys and Jkkrs normalized the hate on jimin, i feel jkkrs played their role in getting hate on him. 1) Shipping non-existent couple in a way they always be on ass of tkkr i.e provoking just like jjks on pjms (i see something here) & 2) They started anti-v too, when asked they give validation "tkkrs hating jimin for same reasons". Btw jimin is frnd with v but god forbid if pjms are disliking jk for any reason then they are anti-jimin because pjms hating his frnd/bf/love (hypocrisy, aren't they?). I despise jkkrs n their fave solos jjks more than ever and armys are useless fandom who are here for sexualizing jk and see him as some trophy just like bts.
Jikookers don't really care about Jimin hate, and that's it. Most of them don't care. They're Jungkook biased or even borderline Jungkook solos, so why should they care that Jimin's life has been threatened and he's been harrassed and defamed for years? It's not precious Jungkookie after all.
I've already talked about this soooo many times, I swear. I just don't really save my posts. But jikookers have also weaponized Jimin's affection for Jimin. I mean what you're saying about them "provoking" taekookers, because that's literally what they've done for years. In all of taekookers' hate tweets you'll always see jikookers bringing up moments where Jimin was being affectionate with Jungkook and use it as a "gotcha moment" that they think proved jikook real. Just to piss taekookers. And the only person getting the short stick out of that has always been Jimin.
They get off on the hate Jimin gets because to them it's validation. "Jikook get hoes mad" "they're threatened" "they hate them because they see there's more" - no, they don't. They hate it because they hate JIMIN. I saw this mostly on twitter, but the most delusional jikookers here also use the same logic. "If they're hating it's because they see more". Sometimes people just hate. This was never a reversed psychology case. "They're gonna be crying" no - they will be sending death threats to Jimin and trying to tell the military that he's gay.
Even today, can you believe that? Even today with JK solos tagging the military and everything, jikookers were on report tweets saying that their love got people mad or whatever. Talking as if they were doing that because they want to break up the jikook couple. No, they're literally doing that because they hate Jimin and they hate that he's not a straight man like Jungkook. They're not doing that because they see a couple, they're doing that because they're mad that the company is trying to sell them something they already DON'T believe in.
Jikookers see Jimin getting hate and to them it's validation for the ship. I kid you not, it makes them feel better. It makes them feel like the ship must be real if it's getting hate. Earlier this year, I don't remember what happened and I saw on twitter a jikooker say "taekookers hating again WE'RE SO BACK".
Literally yesterday I said that jikook has never brought anything good or useful for Jimin, and look what happened today. I will die on this hill. I don't say it just because, I say it all the time because I've been here long enough and I've seen it happen over and over again. If you'd asked me in 2018 or 2019, I would've also told you that jikook was never good for Jimin because I've had to watch the reactions and cry and get angry for years.
The only person ships ever benefitted and still benefit, is Jungkook. It doesn't matter if it's jikook or taekook or even namkook, it all benefits Jungkook the most, sometimes he's the only one of the pair getting anything good from it like with jikook.
Even now with this reality show that was so conveniently arranged to start filming when seven was released, and now there's a whole public schedule filming again in the same week some other Jungkook thing is apparently happening lmao. It's textbook marketing.
Jikookers got angry when I said people shouldn't support Jungkook (jikook content in this case) because to them, getting less engagement would send a message to the company that people aren't interested in jikook content and they were shaking and throwing up over the prospect of not getting more jikook content provided by the company. They said that it would mean Jimin is not attracting audience and it would make the company think there's no demand for him. W T F. The company doesn't give a flying fck about Jimin, to begin with. They could've realized there was demand for him when people spent 8 months asking for a CD restock. I personally don't want anyone to think Jimin is in "demand" because his ship content gets engagement, thank you very much. Taekook already exists. Half or even more of those jikookers are gonna be liking the clips on twitter and then streaming and voting exclusively for Jungkook, just like taekookers are doing. They can keep their engagement.

why do u think sasuke apologized to sakura at the end? it's not like she apologized to him after all that she's done... he shouldn't have
I couldn't agree more anon. He shouldn't have, Sakura didn't deserve an apology from him.
My sense is that he did it because of Naruto. Don't get me wrong. Naruto didn't force him to do it or anything. But after chapter 698, Sasuke came over to Naruto's side and committed to adapt to a new life where he pledged to assist Naruto to reach his objective of uniting the shinobi world, and he wouldn't make Naruto's life unnecessarily difficult.
It's not that black and white, it's a little more nuanced. Naruto always urged Sasuke to treat Sakura and Kakashi better, because Sasuke was so irreverent towards Kakashi and contemptuous towards Sakura.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Sasuke learns about the truth of Uchiha massacre, he sees Kakashi's very evident hypocrisy and gives him a good dressing down in the kage arc. Which I really enjoyed btw. Sasuke just hits the pressure points, that's one of the things I like about him. He says very valid shit that others either dont see or are unwilling to see. Naruto is led by the light side, Sasuke is led by the dark side of their world, which is why they work well together, evidenced by their symbolism, the yin and yang, perfectly balanced and attuned to each other.
Anyway, Sasuke attempts to kill both Kakashi and Sakura in kage arc and it becomes very clear that he doesn't owe Kakashi or Sakura any consideration. Kakashi who conveniently uses Sasuke's clan's Sharingan to further his own interests or objectives and then has the audacity to lecture Sasuke about things, the enormity of which he doesn't even begin to comprehend and Sakura for the more obvious reasons, her egotism, narcissism and self absorption to the exclusion of everything else.
Sasuke doesn't give a fuck about team seven in Shippuden. But he tries to remain tactful as much as he can. In the war arc, where you see team seven gathered again, Kakashi tries to find about Sasuke's intentions and Sasuke meaningfully remains quiet. He doesn't want to be distracted from the battle, he who is so anal (no pun intended) about keeping an eye on the enemy, and he doesn't consider Kakashi or Sakura significant enough to satisfy their queries. And I like him a lot for that. :)
Tumblr media
All he has to say about team seven's teamwork is a succinct and insouciant 'hmph'. Lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He really cannot give a fuck. And Naruto is trying to be the peacekeeper. So he chides Sasuke, like a mum, to behave. Lol. I find it cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke would grudgingly relent and answer Naruto but he still won't really address Kakashi or Sakura.
Naruto mum - Sasuke, did you say thank you to Obito and Sakura properly?
Tumblr media
Sasuke - ......focus on the enemy Naruto (dobe!).
I mean c'mon, they are in the middle of a war and Naruto is trying to correct Sasuke's manners, lol. In a good humored way, of course, but it's very funny. Naruto was obviously very happy and relieved to see Sasuke was unharmed and brought back to the current dimension safely. Sasuke does tell Naruto point blank that for him, Naruto is the only priority because he has the seal and the rest of the players are pretty irrelevant. Naruto agrees but Naruto can't help his nature, ie, protecting people he cares for and urges Sasuke to understand since there was a time when Sasuke did the same for Naruto.
Tumblr media
So at the end of vote 2, when Sasuke apologizes to Sakura, as compared to how other apologies went, like Obito to Naruto and Kakashi, or Itachi to Sasuke, or even Kushina to Naruto, so eloquent and emotional, Sasuke's apology is trademark tokenism, like seriously it has five words in total in it, lol. Sasuke's apology is not even specific, it's deliberately blithely vague, and immediately after his attention latches back onto Naruto.
Tumblr media
And truth is, neither Sakura nor Kakashi were condemned in the narrative for their ways of thinking. Kakashi, with his well established faulty perception goes on to believe that everything has gone back to the way it was before, and Sakura, having not changed or learnt at all, acts like she deserved the apology so damn much, like it was due for so long and she is only getting it now. As if it really was Sasuke's fault and not hers. Lol. Some nerve.
But the point is, Kishi could not have made Sasuke ask for it, because harking back on it would have meant revisiting/rehashing the issue all over again, which would have given the impression that Sasuke wasn't over his bitterness and resentment, which would go against the climax where Sasuke just got his resolution. Ideally, this condemnation should have come from Naruto. Naruto should have held Sakura and Kakashi accountable for their third grade treatment of Sasuke. Which is one of the reasons why I hate the ending. Well, first of all, I don't think Sasuke should have been written to completely give over his ambition to adopt Naruto's but Kishi had to finally 'resolve' (I use the term with a pinch, nay, a fistful of salt) the problems of the current shinobi world, even if he had to do it forcefully while breaking storytelling rules, so as to move over to the upcoming plotline, Boruto ie, which had to do with aliens and shit as the shinobi world in it is sans shinobi problems, as Naruto has erased them. That and he couldn't have brought about any more discussions on issues that were related to democratic dissent or more nuanced ethical dwellings on the individual vs collective. It's not for SJ. Kishi did his best to imbue the narrative with it anyway, giving Sasuke the revolutionary, the role of anti hero, and painstakingly making his character narratively equal to Naruto's, under the aegis of SJ. But he could not have taken it any further. Sasuke's story itself was the allegory. But well, SJ celebrates Japanese sensibilities and so it would not have been possible. And Kishi had already fought quite a few battles for his manga. Revisiting certain things would have potentially opened a can of worms for him. Kishi got away with a lot to begin with. It was also important for Kishi to portray Sakura, as per her consistently written character as a self absorbed and self important wench who only cares about her own ego and needs and not Sasuke's, but wants Sasuke as her trophy anyway. It was necessary for them to be put together for the sake of Boruto (to sire Sarada), and with a person like Sakura, Sasuke could get away with not being emotionally attached at all, giving her meager and so obviously half hearted scraps and yet, she would rejoice in them. She is shallow like that. Heh. So this apology, and Sakura's reaction to it, is yet another indication that Sakura is so addicted to Sasuke that she would happily ignore and dismiss Sasuke's honest feelings for her as long as she finally gets to marry an unwilling and unloving Sasuke.
Anyway, apart from that, it obviously makes Naruto happy to see Sasuke adjusting to new circumstances and from how it looks, apologizing to Sakura doesn't make much of a difference to Sasuke because Naruto just confessed his love to him. Sasuke doesn't feel alone anymore, look how much lighter and relaxed he looks with Naruto, watching Naruto smiling and laughing, visibly relaxed. The rest of the people, including Sakura, don't matter half as much to him, which is proven by him flicking Sakura's forehead later, a certified Itachi move repurposed for her, signifying deliberate distancing and obfuscation/lies.
He also knows that Naruto tries to avoid conflict as much as he can and when he needs to confront, he tries to deal with things with as much empathy and genuine consideration he can garner. So Sasuke doesn't want to make it any more challenging for Naruto, who is leading the gargantuan task of bringing all the shinobi nations together. Sasuke's job is now to assist him in his objective and make it easier. Sasuke has already clearly been shown to hide information from Naruto so as not to cause him any worry, like he did when he made Sakura promise not to tell Naruto about the curse mark. Sasuke is wholeheartedly devoted to Naruto and he takes his position as Naruto's best friend, work partner, soulmate (implied), shadow hokage etc very seriously. So he would take on things himself and endure them, because he knows if Naruto knew, he will not sit quietly. He would go one step ahead and demand to share Sasuke's burden, he would not allow Sasuke to be alone or hurting, he would make it his life's mission to relieve Sasuke, just the way he did. That's just how they are.
Which is why the ending really hurts. Sigh.

Halloween special
This one-shot is set after "Give me something I can nail myself to" but you don't have to read that first (or at all). Just know that Bucky and Natasha have had sex recently (which everybody knows about) but are decidedly not in a relationship right now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"You're seriously trying to tell us this is an accident," Clint remarks.
"Yeah, of course," Natasha insists. "I just didn't want to end up on the cover of the New York Post like last year."
"Oh, yeah, the sexy grave digger," Tony remarks. "Infamously."
She pulls a face. "Well, this year, I thought, what's less sexy than a children's book?"
"Oh dear." Tony sips on his champagne. "You have no idea."
"And Barnes just so happened to do the mad hatter," Sam throws in. "Entirely uncoordinated?"
"That's not even a costume," Natasha states. "He just ruined a suit in the wash and put on a hat. I, on the other hand -"
"You seem to know quite a lot about how that costume was made," Clint interrupts.
"Fuck you, you just made it another take-your-bow-to-work day," Natasha returns. "And really, why would we do matching costumes? That's ridiculous."
"Seems a little too convenient to be true," Sam suggests. "Plus, it's the first time Barnes even went to the Halloween gala. What are the chances you'd just end up with a couple's costume?"
"Correct me if I'm wrong," Natasha argues. "But Alice and the mad hatter don't exactly hook up."
"Yeah, but she's seven," Tony reminds her. "You really don't look seven, trust me."
"Yeah, hate to break it to you but the tabloid thing probably won't work out," Clint says. "That photographer has been trying to get a shot of you for half an hour. Which, I assume, is why you haven't left us yet, we're blocking the view so nicely."
Natasha groans. "Come on! My neckline is way up here."
"Yeah, sorry to tell you," Clint confirms, not sounding sorry at all. "It's the stockings."
Tony grins. "Don't let Freezer Burn hear that. He already has that uptight jealous look."
"I hate all of you," Natasha states. "Clint, next year, we're really doing Frankenstein."
"Oh sure," Tony agrees. "I'm sure you won't look sexy in a lab coat and glasses at all."
"Stitched up clothing," Sam adds.
Natasha sighs. "Remind me why I even come to these things?"
"Almost fourteen million dollars for charity," Tony replies. "And not an insignificant chunk of that is from that very New York Post cover."
Sam pulls a face. "Eww."
"Hey, it's Steve's job to be the posterboy." She waves at him. "Oh, there he is. Hey, Cap!"
Steve, looking kind of lost with his hands in his pockets, comes over with a confused face. "Yeah?"
She grabs his arm and leads him away. "Come on, we're getting a drink."
"Mhm," Steve makes. "And why do you need me for that?"
"Need a human shield against the photographers," she explains. "And who better than the man with a plan? Except for the halloween costume, it seems."
Steve rolls his eyes. "It's a costume, thank you very much. What do you want?"
"Whiskey sour," she replies, settling on the bar chair, quite a way from the cordon and Steve's broad back should be shielding her fine. "Really? What are you supposed to be?"
"Alan Turing," Steve replies. "Just Whiskey for me, thanks."
She snorts. "I'm not sure you understood the assignment."
"At least I had all the clothes already," Steve argues. "I mean, you're never wearing that dress again, are you?"
"You should rebrand to Captain Planet," she suggests. "Thanks."
Steve sighs, taking his Whiskey with a nod. "I hate these things so much. It's rare to see so much hypocrisy in one room."
"You and me both, pal," she mutters into her drink. "What time is it?"
Steve pulls out an honest-to-God pocket watch. "2150. If this thing isn't running behind again."
"Great," Natasha decides, taking a big sip. "This drink and I'm off."
Steve rolls his eyes. "Oh, I see. Should've known."
"What?"
"Buck left not even five minutes ago."
"Oh come on, that's just a coincidence."
"Sure. Just like the costumes."
"I'm serious. We're just both leaving around the earliest time we politely can."
"You can just say it, you know. No need to make up all these excuses."
"I'm not lying. Don't give me that look."
"Which look?"
"The single dad look. Not mad but disappointed."
"Just go already, nobody's buying it anyway."
She snorts, sliding off her stool. "Okay, okay. But I'm really just off to bed."
Steve sighs. "I didn't want details."
"Alone," she specifies. "Can't wait to get under my blanket."
Steve shakes his head. "Sure. Tell your blanket hi."

Crazy how loads of people from this fandom lacks faith in Megumi yet you've got the strongest sorcerer of today and the strongest sorcerer in history simultaneously vouch for him.
Gojo confidently believing Megumi will push through and know the truth about his father.
Sukuna, who pushed Higuruma and recognized his talent yet still said he wasn't anything special, but for some reason he never exhibited that kind of attitude to Megumi despite screwing with him over and over. It begs the question, what it is that they see in him doesn't it? Yet people prefer to ask dumbly why Megumi is acting the way he does as if the reason hadn't been made clear since the beginning.
And can we talk about the blatant hypocrisy in this fandom? People are comparing him to Yuji as if what he's going through is any different than that of Yuji in Shibuya. Did they conveniently forget how Todo had to step in and talk no jutsu Yuji to pick himself up cause he was so down in the dumps?
There's also the rampant complaints about characters not reacting emotionally to deaths and yet we have a character right now, whose reacting emotionally to the death of a loved one yet they're chastising him for it? Which is it really?
Welcome to jjk-confessions Sunday, not on a Sunday as per usual.
I'm going to repackage your ask and frame it using the following formula:
Megumi = the shadow.
The shadow = the repository of repressed or rejected aspects of our personality.
TLDR; Megumi catches very interesting projections to say the least.
Like potential man isn't even a bad meme tbh, because he is potential man. That's Megumi. But like, it's the attitude towards the idea that he is having such a hard time reaching his potential (something that is VERY understandable given his backstory and how that affected his sense of self).
I swear every time I see something bad about Megumi (other than "I just don't like him", "he doesn't speak to me", or "I couldn't get invested because xyz was missing from the narrative--that is actually lacking"), there's always some sort of rejection of vulnerability at the core of it.
Which as I have said only like 350,068,023 million times already I've been keeping track, Megumi rejects his vulnerability.
So when I see a lot of the comments about Megumi, what I see is the complete rejection of one's humanity if I'm honest. Like, everyone in jjk is being shown to have some kind of very flawed perception of the world, and for some reason Megumi picks up projections around being a bitch for someone, being weak, pathetic... do I keep going?
And this is all so interesting to observe because he is such a beautiful character when you take the time to understand him. Gege cooked with Megumi.
Idk, I can't help but feel like it's interesting how Gege keeps breaking the 4th wall with jjk, and Megumi is one of the ways he's doing it. And idk about y'all, but I think he's very conscious of how he directs his energy towards the fandom.
idk how to explain well. Hopefully that makes some sort of sense lol.
Anyways. Thanks for sending a letter in anon. We remain strong.

unpopular opinion time but i'm thinking about how people are often like 'well the lans were at the pledge conference/siege too!!!' like yeah they were there because wen ning had killed multiple members of their clan in an unprovoked attack after they'd travelled to jinlin tai to defend him & wen qing ????
obviously the reader knows that wwx was not responsible for this (he was restrained all the way back in the burial mound). but the lans (and everyone else) has no idea. and at this point, to be honest, how can they reasonably be expected to question whether there's some misunderstanding or justification behind it?
i mean, wwx had wen ning kill four of the labour camp guards, in what the guards claim was an unprovoked and unjustified attack. when asked for an explanation, wwx's own sect leader does not dispute this, instead he publicly fights with wwx then declares to everyone that he is their enemy.
then jzx, and who-knows how many other jins are killed at qiongqi path. it's safe to assume that the jins did not make it public knowledge that they'd ambushed their own guest on his way to see them, and instead spun some other tale about it.
we don't know exactly what the lans thought of it, but we do know that they spoke up for the wen siblings. they obviously weren't willing to blindly follow the jins or condemn wwx & the wen remnants at this point. they only ever agreed to take any action against the burial mound settlement after wen ning had already killed several lans.
like idk i think it's fairly reasonable after two incidents or supposed unprovoked massacres and a third confirmed one to conclude that the guy behind it might actually have done all that. especially when the guy in particular has a reputation for mass, brutal killings and has made threats against them in the past 🤷🏻‍♀️
and i think it's a disservice to mdzs to read it through some 'society=bad' lens. like sure, we do see mob mentality and widespread hypocrisy and misplaced resentment against convenient targets. but the events of mdzs didn't just happen by accident ?? it was orchestrated by the most powerful in society to suit their own agendas.
fear and hatred of wwx was so widespread because jgs lied about him, because he had him ambushed and gave him no choice but to fight back. and because jc refused to support wwx's statements that they owed a debt to wn's branch of the wen sect & they hadn't participated in the war. and because jc withheld the truth about what happened to wen ning and why wwx released them and instead told everyone that wwx has made himself their enemy!!
i guess these arguments come about because people are defending wwx's actions at nightless city, but you don't need to paint the jianghu side as motivated purely by evil intentions in order for wwx to have done nothing wrong?? it doesn't matter if they had real justification to be there or not??
they all voluntarily agreed to attack him, he fought back, how could they expect anything else ?? they're not victims of the battle that they volunteered for & instigated. and if their army of 3000 or 5000 or whatever still isn't strong enough to defeat him then that's their problem, not wwx's lol.

Looks like I'll have to do some Follower-scaping soon.
I've seen a certain number of recent followers who also happen to follow a certain blog here which i've had blocked in the past for repeatedly throwing Jimin under the bus to their goddamn convenience and knowing who they really stan, I'm not surprised that to this day they continue to talk shit.
Now I don't care who the fuck you follow aside from me, but I do care about the HYPOCRISY.
You come to blogs like mine, you agree with our posts, you even trash-talk other members BY YOUR OWN WILL (either in the comments or DMs ), even if my posts don't mention them at all.
But then you go on this person's blog and be like: "pjms are the worse", "pjms are diet-solos", "the fucking rejects", "exiles", "pjms are to blame for whats happening to jimin", ect. While also praising the same members you talked shit about just a couple of weeks ago.
And that's what I don't fuck with.
You wanna be a hypocrite? Go be a hypocrite following someone else. Or better yet, stay on twitter/X where that disgusting akgae pig of Muri resides (did you guys know, that this guy aside from being one of Jimin's biggest antis and alleged "jk solo", got exposed for not only being a trashcooker, but recently also admitted to not giving a shit at all about jk? That he's actually bored of him, so he finds it more fun to talk about Jimin? LOL now THAT is a diet-solo).
I won't name names, you know who YOU are and what you say behind other's backs. I'm simply giving you a 24 hour heads-up to stop following me before I block you my self and the list is getting pretty long.

As usual it's the hypocrisy that gets to me. If taekook is included in official content, that's normal. If other member interactions are included, that's perfectly fine. Nobody's wondering why jinkook have so many scenes in official content like you said. The answer is obvious - they interact a lot in an entertaining way. Nobody takes the sope interactions and then measures it against how much sope hang out in real life in public. There's no conspiracy theory that sope is being pushed by Hybe. When we got more 2Seok compared to Namjin in recent years, nobody's reaction was that Namjin is being hidden by Hybe to promote the company ship of 2Seok. We all made the much more normal assumption - friendships change and 2seok hang out more than Namjin probably
If jikook is fake, why isn't everything else fake too? I could easily say that the whole ot7 thing is just company propaganda but while people might agree that ot7 is a brand, they'll never admit that the seven of them don't love each other. But why? Objectively they don't hang out much when they're not at work. All the statements the say about loving each other comes from official content. Maybe that's scripted too? Why not? Why is only jikook scripted but everything outside of them authentic and true?
Why are they the only ones who merit this kind of scrutiny? Why are they the only ones in this group who are doing so much fanservice compared to everyone else and with only each other? They're not even the most popular ship! And why hasn't this fanservice reduced over the years? So they went from an unknown group to global superstars, their whole lives have blown up and changed completely but we have to believe that Jungkook must lie about visiting Jimin's room all the time when they're touring?
Even the talk about the military is insane. Jikook have tattoos. Even so if they had applied individually, they would have gotten a much more favourable posting than the fifth division. None of the other members have to do anything and can live their lives as they want but Jimin and Jungkook will spend 18 months in the military stuck to each other just because of their dedication to fanservice and because it's convenient? No other pair in kpop (not BTS but kpop!) have applied for military companionship. It's not a common thing at all. But somehow because jikook have done it, it's not really special and actually just very convenient. Everyone else in kpop must be really dumb for not using this super convenient option thats available to them.
People shouldn't act as if believing jikook is fanservice and not really friends is some enlightened thinking when they don't question any other relationship in the same way they question jikook.
All of us, including jikookers and non shippers, are so subsumed in a fandom filled with taekookers where we question jikook to an unnatural amount even when we're not taekookers ourselves. Thats what we should really be wondering about - why dismissing jikooks relationship is so normalised. That's the real issue here.
Such great questions anon…
My personal answer to most of them isn’t pretty.
“Something” about this particular pair rattles people…either into buying a pervasive theory on social media that makes little sense…
Or it provokes a silence when faced with their interactions that would normally be happy cheers if any other combo of members were doing the same…

like I am not trying to convince anyone that israel is a country that has done nothing wrong ever, no country's history is free from violence and bloodshed (although I recommend doing proper research and not just believing a historical revisionist version of events) every country and a nation has a history that is less than savory and current problems they need to work on too, I am just flabbergasted at the hypocrisy and focus on Israel and believing that this country is uniquely evil that its citizens are also uniquely evil so much so that mourning their victims of Oct 7th is seen as "choosing the side of the oppressor" as if people deserve to die because of where they are and where they were born, if you think this is not antisemitic you are crazy.
somehow all the atrocities going on in the world are ignored even in neighboring regions and people got absorbed into this one issue that has nothing to do with them, and I am supposed to think that's a coincidence? I am supposed to think wow people finally care about Arabs? no I'd be a fucking fool, because people finally have a way to hate jews without being called out for it, and conveniently said jews are now "white" if you really want to help Gazans you wouldn't support a terrorist organization that constantly attacks a country with no regard for the lives of their citizens and then expecting said country to not fight back and attempt to return the hostages, which country is expected to be okay with being on the end of a terrorist attacks and not retaliate? I also mourn the loss of any innocent life but you're not gonna convince me you care about Gazans by supporting hamas or the "resistance" because they are the ones tormenting their citizens, even without Israel do you think people are happy living under islamofascism and severe poverty because hamas uses all of their resources to fund a religiously motivated war? I feel like some people don't know what war is and we are lucky for that, but both Gazans and Israelis are intimately familiar with it and it has to stop and it will not stop until Palestinian children are no longer indoctrinated into hating Jews and can choose life instead of wanting to erase Israel from the map, until Palestinian leaders have peaceful negotiations with Israel or maybe revisit the many many offers of a two-state solution they rejected. you are not helping by supporting this delusional and antisemitic "dream" of eradicating Israel you're supporting an ideology that kills people on both sides.
and the irony of people living on US, Canadian and Australian soil screaming about colonialism and stolen land and how no "settler" is innocent and they all deserve to die is not lost on me :/
