Sees you fall and does not realize the severity at first

Continues her attacks, looking for you to come back up

Asks for cover as she makes her way toward you

Panics when she sees your unmoving form

Sighs in relief at your breathing

Drags you into a covered spot and stays with you until the battle is over

“Don’t worry me like that…”

Takes an item off you for “compensation”

You WILL have to chase her for it later

Pike

Was toward the front lines when it happened and did not know you had fallen unconscious

When the majority of the battle is done, does a head count

Notices your weapon peeking out behind something and rushes over

Kneels beside you, checking you over for the injury that did this to you

Lays your head on her lap and awaits the end of the battle

Healing you slowly

“Your hair is softer than I thought.”

Vax’ildan

Was in the heat of the battle when you lost consciousness

Continues his attacks and remains unaware for a while

Wants to flex a big kill at you, but can’t seem to find you

Goes into a worried frenzy in trying to find you

Finds you unconscious and immediately checks if you’re breathing

Uses his daggers as long distance as he sticks close to you

“You were supposed to see that kill, Y/N. …Now come back.”

Keyleth

Saw you collapse and is extremely concerned

Rushes to you in a tiger form and slays whatever hurt you

Nudges you and defends you while the others take on the rest of the fight

Is muttering and talking to you the whole time

“Y/N?  Uh… Don’t worry.  I got you.”

Will be anxious until you awake

Will nearly knock you out again in a tackle hug

Grog

Is having way too much fun in the fight to notice much else

But always had a soft spot for you and Pike, so when fights are over, he inspects the both of you

Doesn’t see you, so he starts wandering, calling your name

Sees your unconscious form and picks you up

Has a puppy face as he takes you toward Pike

“I think they’re ok…can we fix them?”

Will carry you until you’re conscious

Scanlan

Is mid-song when out of the corner of his eye, he sees you fall

Calls out “Scanlan’s Hand” and makes his way toward you in a hurry, stumbling off the hand as he heads toward you

Uses the hand to shield you both from danger

“I can’t carry you, but I got you covered.”

Eventually clambers onto the hand to help out in the fight

Keeps you covered until the end of the fight

Definitely jokes that you said you loved him in your sleep afterward

Never tells you how much he worried about you in that moment

one of my favorite things about over the garden wall is that wirt and greg are the characters in a tragedy. and they play their roles perfectly. wirt wallows in his selfish self pity as the narrative tells him and tells him that greg is going to die because of him. and wirt doesn’t listen, like the narrative knows he won’t. the narrative has seen this all before. and soon enough greg is on death’s doorstep and the narrative is telling wirt that the only way to save him is to take his place for eternity. just like the guy before him. just like the people before them. it’s the only way. and wirt looks the narrative straight in the eyes, and then punches it in the face.

You know what, Vaughn tricking Michael into burning Jesse makes me think of something narration!Michael said in an early episode: something about when turning an asset 'the more they do for you, the more you can get them to do'

And it honestly works because Michael even says that if he walked away then he would have gotten Jesse burned for nothing

Sorry for the late reply but OH YES I HAVE AND YES I DO

(MAJOR SPOILER ALERT BTW(I tried not to, but I just had to rant about certain moments))

Overall, I LOVED IT

As someone who can pay more attention to characters than the actual plot sometimes, I've been loving Sonic Prime since season one, and season 3 DID NOT disappoint on that front.

I really loved all the interactions we got between all the different versions of the main cast themselves and with the Chaos Council, and even if it was only one scene, I'm so happy we got some Rouge (Rebel) and Shadow interaction.

Animation and fight choreography (particularly when it came to Sonic and Shadow) had me vibrating through my seat, as per usual, and the script writing itself was really solid

(Sidenote: I LOVED when Sonic asked for Rouge's plan cause, y’know, SHES BEEN LEADING A RESISTANCE FOR YEARS. The plan she came up with was really cool, too. And Sonic's backup plan later on was really good as well.)

I really adored all the little focus moments the characters got in the finale (Mangey and Sails!?💖💞💝) but Knuckles the Dread and the Roses in particular had me holding back SHRIEKS. Shadow was a delight the whole time, per usual, (who am I kidding I was BEGGING for this guy to show up again as soon as the big final fight started) and the finale did a really good job of making you fear Nine but also really care for him, cause the little dude was essentially tearing himself apart to create this new world and keep the others out of it, because he felt like he had been betrayed, but he was also literally tearing all the other worlds apart, too.

But omfg that ending!? Sonic's sacrifice, the Roses and Shadow putting all their might into saving him, and the fact that he spawned right where he left off, in the exact same position mere moments before the prism shatter and he and Shadow worked together to do things right the second time around? Took me OUT, both from like, a 'science of space and time' perspective and story wise.

I know a lot of people are saying that they didn't like the ending and how everything just went back to normal with only Sonic and Shadow remembering anything, but I thought it made perfect sense in the context of how the show established the Paradox Prism to function, and only adds to the overall message imo.

My only real issue was that it was kinda...simple? If that makes sense? Like, it made sense story wise, and really made me feel for Sonic because DAMN, but the fact that the entire season was essentially one giant fight with little story breaks in between meant it was kinda getting old by the time Sonic finally made it up to Nine's level and got me all hyped up all over again. Plus, all the big character moments were really on-the-nose, and just felt like a textbook finish, but other than that, I loved every second.

Finally catching up with New Life Begins and I sort of feel sorry for Second Prince? Like his crying mother and brother really got me and I do like this whole thing of 'villains will still have ones they love too'. It could also partly be the whole thing about showing that exile is still a punishment for him, even compared to prison or execution.

But I absolutely adore how Hao Jia and Zhao Fangru do not feel sorry for him in the least and this is shown as right. And yes, we see Yin Zheng torn over his brother but Li Wei only knows him as the man who abused her friend and tried to get the guy she liked thrown in prison so her feelings about wanting the guy dead are shown as rational.

I really love shows having villains as not completely horrible to everyone in their life but they still deserve punishment for the wrongs they did do.

why are there not more shows like leverage?

my grandma got me into crime serials starting with law and order and criminal minds when i was a kid and for years they have been the only thing i acknowledged as a 'guilty pleasure.' Not because of them being poorly written (even though they almost always are) or because as an afab queer kid i was not the demographic for it. it was only a guilty pleasure because of the blatant copaganda and inherent moral issues with their premises. there's plenty of garbage i love, but crime shows have always been the only one i'm ashamed of. because no matter how familiar the structure is or the take it has on crime or how interesting the characters are, they all always frame cops as good guys no matter what bullshit they pull and that is legit horrifying.

now that i have found leverage, i can finally watch something in this genre that i don't have to feel bad about. i don't have to overlook the premise of the show to empathize with the characters, and I'm not empathizing with cops and feds anymore. the closest I've ever found to this is psych, which still had several downfalls in its representation of crime and police. and it is missing most of the darker elements that go into the typical genre format. this feels so much better to engage with and it manages to still have the serious commentary and drama, while also bringing humor and genuine fun to all of the characters.

i know that the answer to this is network censorship and executives being unwilling to take a risk on things, but still. why can't there be more shows like this? i love it so much. beyond the lack of copaganda and active anticapitalism, it also has solid representation for autism that is so refreshing to see represented so casually and empathetically. there is also the way it represents relationships and their development in a way that feels so real even when the characters are in exaggerated scenarios.

Dear Amphibia,

You began as a show to fill the void before the second season of The Owl House, but you’ve grown into so much more. I became invested in your characters, I laughed and cried and screamed with both joy and pain, all because of the brilliantly weaved story you offered. I watched Anne grow to love herself and become more mature and responsible, and I saw myself in her. I watched Sasha claw her way out of her old habits to become a better person, her progress never linear, and I saw myself in her. I watched Marcy do anything just to be with the friends that she loves so deeply, and my god, I saw myself in her. You inspired me to create, pouring hours into fan works that would almost always only be seen by myself, but nonetheless made with so much care as to do you justice. I learned your runic alphabet out of no reason other than the fun of it, and I still practice every single day, writing just a few words in a notebook at a time. You gave me so much to look forward to, and with your final episode fast approaching, you give one last push towards the finish. You’ve brought so much joy into my life as I enter the melancholy time that is the final few years of childhood, and I love you for it. I would like to thank the creators of this show, as well as my fellow fans who have created just as much content on our own. When I look back on this era even just a year from now, I hope that I look back with fondness and love, the same fondness and love I experience now. Thank you Amphibia, for being a welcome presence in my life.
