yk. the resistance ppl have to so much as considering the idea that mike might not jump to immediately and enthusiastically engaging in obvious n indisputably gay shit with will publicly is kinda funny in a puzzling way when season three and season four, where he does exactly that the entire way through, are literally right there for us all to watch on netflix.com. like. Okay ❤️

Hi! I'm in love with your blog! ❤️🫂
Can I make a request with Adam?! Something between him and the reader are longtime friends and now with his move to Columbus they realize that they are in love 🥰
Thank you in advance 😘
unspoken feelings, Adam Fantilli
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: in which, adam and y/n have been best friends since forever. They’ve both have avoided their feelings for each until y/n visits columbus for Adam’s first nhl game.
warnings: none
a/n: i’m so sorry i’m doing this request a bit late, but i needed a bit inspiration for this fic. all thought it’s short i hope you enjoyed reading this. this was also supposed to come out on adams birthday so i apologize. !! “hi! I’m in love with your blog! ❤️🫂” thank youu that’s so sweet !! 💐💌
Tumblr media
Ever since you can remember, Adam has always been by your side, your partner for everything and your best friend. From playground adventures to late-night talks in both your bedrooms. Everyone around both of you knew that you two were meant to be together.
However, neither of you confessed your feelings even when adam left to chicago and michigan. It made both of you guys lose hope.
“are you nervous?” luca asked you. You were currently in columbus suprising adam on his first nhl game and for his birthday. Something you two always talked about.
“extremely, I don’t know how he’ll react” you replied back. “don’t be dumb y/n you and i both know he’s going to be ecstatic when he see’s you”
as the time flew by you couldn’t help yourself, but just feel nervous and a bit sad. you were extremely happy for adam for making it to the nhl just as he dreamed, but you couldn’t help about feeling sad about the distance between you two. you both kept in touch, but it wasn’t the same as having him around all the time.
“let’s go to the locker room yea? he’s waiting on me we can surprise him there” luca turned to you asking. “yea sure”
seeing adam stepping into the room made you nervous. not because you didn’t know how’d he react, but that fact that you hadn’t seen your best friend in months due to the draft and all his celebrations. To say you were nervous was an understatement
your heart was pounding in your chest as you watched him approach. The crew erupted in cheers, but all you could focus on was the way his eyes lit up when he spotted you.
Adam's face broke into a wide grin as he made his way towards you. He pulled you into a tight hug, lifting you off the ground for a moment. "Y/N! What are you doing here?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine surprise and joy.
You couldn't help but smile back at him, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. "I couldn't miss your first NHL game, Adam. And it's your birthday too, so I wanted to surprise you," you replied, your voice filled with warmth.
Adam's eyes sparkled with gratitude as he looked at you. "You have no idea how much this means to me, Y/N. I've missed you so much," he confessed, his voice filled with a mix of emotions.
"I've missed you too" you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm so proud of you. You've worked so hard to get here, and I couldn't be happier for you."
Adam's smile softened, and he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair behind your ear. "Thank you, Y/N. Your support has meant everything to me. And being able to share this moment with you is more than I could have ever asked for."
As the game began, you found yourselves caught up in the excitement of the crowd and the intensity on the ice. The familiar banter and inside jokes between you and Adam flowed effortlessly, as if no time had passed at all.
During intermission, Adam took you to the players' lounge, where you were introduced to his teammates and coaches. They all welcomed you with open arms, instantly making you feel like part of the team.
As the night went on, you couldn't help but steal glances at Adam, admiring the way he moved on the ice with such grace and skill. It was in those moments that you realized just how much you truly cared for him.
All though they lost, you guys still celebrated adams first game and birthday, as the night went by and everyone was still having a good time Adam pulled you aside, away from the chaos for a minute. "hey can you come out with me for a second," he said, his voice filled with a mix of nervousness and determination.
“yea you okay”Your heart skipped a beat as you looked into his eyes, waiting for him to continue.
"i don’t know I've just been avoiding these feeling for far too long, but I just can't deny my feelings for you anymore. Y/N, I like you and i understand if you don’t feel the same way. " he confessed, his voice filled with vulnerability.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you reached out to cup his face. "Adam, I've had feelings for you for as long as I can remember, i lost hope when you left for chicago and then left for michigan, but deep down i knew my feelings for you were still there” you admitted, your voice filled with emotion.
In that moment, everything else faded away, and it was just the two of you, finally acknowledging the love that had always been there. The distance and time apart no longer mattered because you knew that, from that day forward, you would always be by each other's side.
As you walked hand in hand out of the arena, the chilly October air no longer felt cold. It was filled with warmth and the promise of a future filled with love and endless adventures together.

Thinking about stranger things again now that the strikes are over and how, narratively, it would be way, WAY cooler to have Mike get Vecna’d instead of Will in s5
It’s just something about the way Mike’s trauma is never addressed or handled in any way?? Like, he hugs his mom twice and then when he was depressed in season 2 and 4 nobody did anything (his parents scolded him for his behavior in s2 ig but that’s not support). His best friend went missing leaving from his house, he watched his body get pulled from the quarry, watched El (in his eyes) kill herself stopping the demogorgon, watched Will be possessed, saw Bob die, was in Star Court when everything went down, saw Billy die, had his best friend move away, was SHOT AT (and really too few people talk about the shooting in Cali bc omg??), buried a body, and watched the apocalypse start. And that’s just off the top of my head.
(And yes I’m aware that the other characters (especially Will) are traumatized too but I will get to my point in a second just hold on)
The plot is geared towards this idea that Will and Henry have to have some big face off (and they should, in my opinion, but I don’t think it should be in a possession, or at least not the the Vecna kind of possession, yk?) but that makes it all the better, writing wise, to have mike be the one in danger. Will was helpless and hiding in s1, I think Will should get his big strong moments in s5 where he gets to be the hero of the story.
It would just be a lot more fun to work with Mike being Vecna’d than Will, because what are we going to bring up with Will’s visions? His dad? His sexuality? The events of s1 from his perspective? It would be cool to see, for sure, but we already know most of that. Mike, on the other hand, has a number of untapped things, like jumping off the quarry, why he’s so hesitant to tell El he loves her, how someone who was smart and kind enough to take El in in s1 and come up with the spy and sauna plans in s2 and s3 could turn into the oblivious asshole that he was in s3 and s4 (he needs therapy, ik, I still love his character but I want to explore the reasons he went from his s2 characterization to his s3 one)
It would be a very interesting parallel, I think, to explore Mike’s thought processes in this way, especially with all of Mike’s repression business (bc whether you ship byler or milkvan he is repressing his feelings HARD. Like, beyond his inability to say I love you there’s the fact that he doesn’t bring up the apparent many times he called pre-s4 during the Rink O Mania fight?? That literally would’ve absolved him of guilt in that argument since he WAS reaching out to Will the whole time? Hellooooo????).
Anyways, this all brings me to my main point: Vecna targets isolation as much as he targets trauma and guilt. The whole party was traumatized by the events in s1, s2, and s3, but Max was the one targeted. Plus, Henry went for Fred, Chrissy, and Patrick (I think his name was Patrick) instead of going for the perceivably easy targets that the mcs would make (ik narratively that would’ve made it more boring but shhh), so why Max and those three specifically? They were isolated. Lucas and Erica have each other, Dustin goes to Steve and Robin, Will and El have each other and Jonathan and Joyce, Nancy probably goes to Jonathan, and who does Mike go to?
No one. And don’t say Nancy because if those two have heart to hearts then I’m the next coming of Christ. Max separated herself from the Party in the aftermath of her grief and guilt over Billy, and it feels quite obvious that Mike was doing the same (like I said, he has repression issues). So Mike is traumatized, alone, and guilty (be it Will getting taken from Mike’s house, losing El in front of him multiple times, the many deaths he has witnessed, or the internalized homophobia angle), which makes him more of a target than Will, in my opinion (or at least an easier one, especially given his tendency to put himself on the line during fights (quarry, most of s2, s3 mindflayer fight), which would set him up on the suicidal ideation path)
Furthermore, as I’ve seen a few other people point out (and I can’t find the posts but one of them had eight screenshots of the various moments), Mike is always the one getting in the way, so it would be a strategic move for Henry to target him to get him out of the picture. Mike was the one that found El and got her involved in saving Will s1, he was the one who came up with the spy plan and called out the ambush in s2, he was the one to monologue Will out of his possession s2, he was the one with the sauna plan for Billy in s3, he was the one trying to help El get the strength to fight s4 (even if the monologue sucked ass it’s the intention that counts). As much as people like to hate on Mike, he is in the leader position most of the time when the party is grouped up (barring his mental health struggles slowing that down beginning of s3 and throughout s4, but he’s still capable of it). He’s the idea man, and he’s the one whose character’s foundations were built on the desire to keep his friends safe, so it would be a very fun plot line to watch him be the one targeted in s5. Like Will said, as lovestruck and cheesy as he was, Mike is the heart of the party when he’s on his A-game, so Henry should 100% be trying to keep him in the issues he’s been struggling with.
Obviously, Will and El are the Targets with a capital T for Henry since they’re the ones that got away or whatever, but I think Mike is a weakness of Will’s (and El’s tbh but also I think they need to have separate character arcs and I don’t exactly ship milkvan) that should be exploited.
TL;DR: Mike should get Vecna’d instead of Will in s5 because it would make sense in lore and be a very cool way to resolve his character arc

Hello hello~ here for another niji ask, thank you so so much for doing my Sonny request <3
Anyway back on topic. May i request luxiem with an extremely flirty s/o? Or maybe just one if you dont wanna do all of them. Once again take your time and make sure to take care of urself
Hello anon! Glad you enjoyed the sonny request ♡︎.
Thank you for the wonderful request, I will do this with all luxiem members since this is an adorable request, and thank you for the kind words I sure will you take care as well ♡︎.
WARNING: Please remember that I am writing about Luxiem based on their characters online and not of the people behind their vtuber avatars, thank you!
Mc is non-binary pronounce is they/them
Fandom: nijisanji en.
Pairing: luxiem x mc.
Category: cute fluff, flirty mc.
Flirty affection.
Tumblr media
Luca Kaneshiro
Luca is the type to be completely oblivious to any flirting directed towards him so he most of the time won't notice.
If he does notice he will respond with a 'pog' and he won't show any sort of reaction.
Unless you sit him down face to face and hit him up with the flirting he will be stunned for a second processing what you just said his face will turn bright red.
He'll be pretty flustered especially since it's his s/o his only respond is a soft 'pog' as he buries his head into Mc's neck.
After a while of being with mc he'll get used to the flirty comments and affection mc gives him but it never fails to bring a shy smile to his face and to make his cheeks a soft red as he chuckles in embarrassment.
He gets so used to it, he might flirt with mc back without realizing hitting them with a 'you too!', which works in most situations.
Mc would to need to find new tricks to make him flustered, like teasing him on stream, pinching his cheeks surprisingly gets him a little shy.
Luca is the type to pout and wait for you to flirt with him when you stop suddenly, or when you'd argue about something, he would just sit there and wait for you to fawn over him with a pout on his lips.
When he does get attention, his face lights up and he wraps his arms around Mc's waist, enjoying their attention with a big grin on his face.
Might test out some pick-up lines he found online and would say them to mc and wait for their response, mc responds most of the time with a laugh or a chuckle than mc tells him a better pick-up line and will kiss his entire face, his cheeks would turn red a huge smile on his face as he chuckles at the small kisses allover his face.
Just compliment and love this man, he loves everything you do anyways.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Shu Yamino
Shu is rather shy when it comes to flirting not knowing how to react, his face turning red slowly as he looks down and covers his face with his hands.
Would appreciate a warning but it doesn't change anything really so he stops expecting one in the first place.
He's just so shy about it at the begining of the relationship, than slowly gets used to it and warms up to the idea.
Might drop a few pick-up lines here and there but would get super embarrassed after, would definitely ask for cringe pick-up lines from mc to use randomly on twitter or just say them in his streams.
When shu comes up to mc saying he's the 'master rizzler', mc is very confused but supports shu anyways.
They'll help him with pick-up lines, how to deliver them, silly things like that until shu comes up to them one day and just says "I've reached my goal as the master rizzler thank you for your sacrifice".
Mc is still confused but smiles and gives shu a kiss on the cheek anyways than goes back to what they were doing.
Even after a while in the relationship shu is still pretty shy about it, he'll just laugh with the most red cheeks you've ever seen.
They grow even darker in color as mc just coos at him and brings him into their arms for a gentle hug.
He'll just mumble against their shoulder incoherently, mc doesn't have the heart to tell him they don't understand what he's saying, so they'll kiss his head gently over and over again until he calms down.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Ike Eveland
Ike is the best flirt avoider in this entire world, so when he gets another vox flirting with him left and right he just avoids it like normal.
Except his feelings for mc start to grow so their comments start to affect him just slightly, he still moves on from them not even acknowledging them but you'll see how his cheeks turn slightly pink showing he actually got affected by the comment.
When he and mc get together his reactions grow slightly, except of ignoring their flirting he'll smile gently at mc his cheeks slightly red as he looks at them, then back at whatever he was doing.
At one point something mc said made him so shy he just buried his head into Mc's shoulder with a whine.
Mc don't embarrass him please, he's just so shy about it.
As time goes on he gets used to them and his reactions goes back to normal completely ignoring the flirting except this time he'll have a small smile on his face.
Finds it very endearing and might get the confidence to flirt back with mc if he's drunk.
When he's drunk he finds the comments super cute and would go out of his way to say so to mc everytime.
He will then process to compliment mc and flirt with them for about half an hour.
Teach him pick-up lines and he will be even better than you at flirting it's the best thing ever.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Mysta Rias
Mysta will play it off awkwardly at first face glowing bright red as he laughs awkwardly "you don't mean that" he would say with an awkward laugh.
His face will turn a deeper shade of red when you tell him you mean it with a straight face.
Will mumble a soft thank you rubbing the back of his head and just sitting there than will mumble a weak "you're awesome too".
As he slowly gets to know mc and gets together with them he'll start to get more comfortable with the flirting and will smile shyly at it now, might even pitch in with a few pick-up lines himself.
After he and mc get together he'll grow more comfortable with it, and will start to flirt with mc on a daily basis learning their tricks and using it against them.
Mysta pulls an uno reverse and starts making mc embarrassed by his flirting, then they both will just giggle like highschool girls and just bask in each other's company.
Mc will definitely try to flirt more with mysta and to make him embarrassed knowing that physical touch is more likely to make him shy.
Just hug him out of no where or kiss his cheeks and face, he'll be putty in your hands.
As time goes on flirting will be the norm in their relationship, they could be just chilling on the couch cuddling and they'll start flirting with each other like they just met in the club.
Mysta finds it very endearing as their bond grows stronger as flirting starts to turn into their very own love language.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Vox Akuma
When vox first meets mc the first thing they both do is flirt with each other.
It's basically like a second language to them at this point from the amount of time they spend speaking it to each other.
Even before they get together they would flirt with each other all the time, which might annoy some people since it looks kinda cringe when you look at it from afar.
When vox and mc get together their flirting grows stronger, and they don't even take it seriously most of the time giggling after flirting with each other.
Both mc and vox find it a cute personality trait in each other and will tell each other how much they love it.
As they both get closer the flirting wouldn't stop, just growing more chill and turning into more compliments then flirting really.
They just love everything about each other and a day doesn't pass unless both of them tell each other how much they love and care about each other.
Mc and vox are a very affectionate and lovey dovey couple and they never deny it and just tell people about it all the time.
If they argue about something they will both sit on different sides of the room glancing at each other every once in a while with a pout on their face.
It will end up with both of them apologizing, and then cuddling and complementing each other to absolutely no end for the next day or two.
They love each other very much and they'll never grow tired of it or try to hide it.
--------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading all support is highly appreciated ♡︎.

what about luxiem with a bold person?
hi hi, anon! thank you for the idea!! i actually like this idea since it's the opposite of what i wrote bfr for vox and luca. sorry it took a while to do this, i'm a little sick rn T.T anyways, hope you liked this one <3
Luxiem with a Bold! Gender Neutral Reader
characters: luca kaneshiro, shu yamino, mysta rias, ike eveland, vox akuma
notes: gender neutral reader, i wasn't sure if i wanted to make reader be in a romantic or platonic relationship but i guess you can interpret it as you like, i used different interpretations of bold here so some might be slightly suggestive, nothing else enjoy!!
luca kaneshiro
you know how luca's always saying how he's not bullyable and tends to (playfully) bully others instead?
yea so when you counterattacked his teasing, safe to say this guy was absolutely shocked.
like, he knew you were cute and all, but he didn't expect for you to be on the same level as he is when it comes to teasing.
it's like he'd be all brave and kusogaki, and then you counter him, and the next thing he knows is he's a mess, a blushing mess.
you're pretty observant, so you notice the way he reacts, which will only entice more reaction from him.
one time you playfully touched his thigh while he was gaming, and the poor dude started stuttering so bad.
an idiot, for sure.
he's fine with pda, but for some reason, you like teasing him while touching him, so he's wary of it (like he gets really red)
overall, this man is too pure for the world. you'd feel a little bad but how else will you be able to see such a reaction from a mafia boss?
shu yamino
believe me when i say this, but shu definitely is chill as hell when you act all bold around him.
you'd say the most shocking thing, and this guy will just snicker at you.
which is why you get braver around him, just to get that reaction out of him.
if you're lucky, he'd say stuff back to you.
kind of like the type where you flirt and say stupid shit, but he says it back seriously and it just goes haywire.
if you're someone who's bold with the way you talk, i believe shu is like your #1 supporter. he doesn't seem like a man who would say much, but this guy would have your back no matter what. it's you both against the world fr fr.
i believe in bold and flirty shu agenda (real!!)
though shu won't like it if you do bold stuff around other people/in public, because he doesn't want you to get hurt.
to top it off, i believe shu is pretty cool with have a bold person around. don't piss him off though, he's feisty.
mysta rias
mysta's pretty bold, isn't he. so i expect a you + mysta combo to be double the trouble.
the unstoppable duo that just does whatever they want, says whatever's on their mind.
you both just fit right with each other (match made in heaven)
but trust me, if you reciprocate back his words, this guy goes brain dead from it.
kinda like the type that can tease you, but can't handle being teased. sort of like luca in a way, except he's more brazen.
y'all did the pokemon pass or smash thing, and this guy is just dead ass surprised from your play at it bcs what the fuck.
mysta's a sweet boy though, he still gets really shy when you say stuff.
he's gotten used to your affection, so i don't think it bothers him anymore.
but hug him for too long and this guy goes craaazy (because he's shy lmao)
anyways, mysta + you duo is deadly, physically and mentally.
ike eveland
ike is a man who's good with words, you can't fight him, nuh uh.
my lord have you seen eki? exactly.
he'd act like he's tired of your bs or like doesn't really like what you're doing, but you know this guy loves it, he's just tryna mask it.
you being bold either puts a nasty grin on his face, or the loudest sigh ever heard from mankind.
told him your darkest deepest secrets and this guy stares back at you, mouth wide opened tryna process what he just heard.
you just giggle in response.
ike lowkey likes seeing you be bold and defend yourself when people do things against your beliefs. he thinks it's endearing.
though he doesn't ever tell you, he just lets you run free, only holding you back when he deems necessary.
10/10, tsundere. acts like he doesn't like it, likes it like hell.
vox akuma
vox himself is already one hell of a bold guy T.T
some days, it's like a competition to see who's bolder. (you lose)
y'all could be platonic or dating, and this guy still says the sluttiest shit ever, and gets you a blushing mess.
he likes that your energy matches his, so it makes him really happy.
i'd say it's pretty crazy to see two people with such brazen language (ykwim).
he's a sweetheart though, kinda like the type that let's their partner say mean stuff, while they support wholeheartedly.
the first time you did a bold move and pretty much sat on him, this guy had the most shit-eating grin you've ever seen.
he held onto you, which made you panic, and then laughs seeing you get all red.
trust me, it doesn't work. he's too powerful T.T you think you're bold until you face vox akuma.
a/n: hi, sorry this one's pretty short and somewhat really ooc. i wrote this based on what i picture each member would be like! also, i'm getting a lot sicker so i'll probably not be able to write a valentine's fic today, but i'll try tomorrow since it might be valentine's in other places of the world! happy valentine's by the way everyone <3 stay safe! - eden

Version 2: Bat Baby
Today was the day of Steve’s c-section. Steve woke up early and slipped on his large night shirt before wandering outside. He fixed himself a large glass of iced water and sat outside in one of the lawn chairs. It was colder now, which Steve always used to hate. He always preferred the warmth of summer. Since he was bitten and gotten pregnant, it's been the opposite now, more so since he's been experiencing hot flashes. He now loved the way the cool air felt against his naked legs.
"Today's the day, baby girl," Steve whispered. "Are you ready? Because I don't think that I am. Can't you stay inside me forever? I promise to keep you safe. Of course, I don't really mean that. I know you need to come out. I don't think I'll ever be ready for you to face the world. Me and Daddy will do our best, but you know, we're not perfect. I hope you know how much we love you."
"I love you too, Daddy," a squeaky voice said.
Steve looked over to find Eddie peering out of the sliding glass door with a grin and a blanket over his head. Eddie came all the way, closing the door behind him before patting his way over to Steve. He pushed the other lawn up against Steve’s and plopped down. He had his own cup, but it was just filled with crushed ice. Eddie shook a handful and poured into his mouth, crunching it with his teeth.
"I don't think I'm ready either," Eddie said.
"Scared?"
"Terrified," Eddie said, pausing. "But at least we're scared together."
Steve took his free hand in his, and they watched the sun rise together. Eddie stroked his hand and began to sing. Steve grinned when he started to sing the Beatles' Yellow Submarine. It was one of his favorite Beatles songs. Steve chuckled when he got the idea. He opened his mouth and began to sing Master of Puppets. Eddie giggled with delight.
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
We all live in a yellow submarine
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
We all live in a yellow submarine
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
We all live in a yellow submarine
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
We all live in a yellow submarine
Master, master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master
"That's a scary mashup," Eddie giggled.
"It shouldn't make sense," Steve said.
"But I love it," Eddie and Steve laughed.
"You're going to be okay, Stevie."
"I know."
When they arrived at the hospital, they were surprised to find that everyone was waiting for them there.
"Like we would miss this," Joyce said.
"As if I would miss my best friend having a baby," Robin said.
Everyone gave him supportive hugs, the moms lasting longer than anyone else. Claudia wouldn't stop crying.
"Come on, Claud," Wayne said in amusement. "Let the boy go."
"I'm going to be a Grammy," Claudia cried.
"Damn, I didn't think to bring any tissues," Sue said, sniffling.
"Oh, I got plenty in my purse," Claudia said.
"I think Max might need some of those," Mike said.
"I will push you in the quarry," Max snapped and walked over to hug Steve. "You're going to be a great dad."
As she walked back over, she flipped Mike off. She sat down in the waiting room and pulled out some knitting supplies.
"Are you knitting?" Mike asked.
"What did I just say?" Max asked.
Erica sat beside her and pulled out her own supplies.
"I'm competing with Max to see who can make the better baby blanket," Erica said.
"Did you know about this?" Mike asked Lucas.
"Yeah."
Eddie and Steve laughed as they were guided off to the operating room by Dr. Owens. Hopper and El followed behind them. El had Jonathan's old camera strapped to her neck. They were joining them in the room just in case anything happened. Although, El had insisted that she hadn't felt anything bad coming from the baby. As they prepared him, Steve laid on the table he stared up at the ceiling.
"I'm going to miss being pregnant," Steve said.
"Is it because it's made your hair look really good?" Eddie asked.
"No. . .well, not just that," Steve said. "I just - what if I turn into my dad?"
"Not possible. I haven't seen you turn into your dad with any of the kids we babysit," Eddie said. "You've been really great with the kids, and you're going to be really great with ours."
"What if she is part bat? What if she starts climbing the walls?!" Steve asked.
"Then we'll get a ladder. That was going to happen anyway. She's part of me too," Eddie said.
"We both work during the day. What if she ends up sleeping during the day and awake at night?" Steve said.
"Then we'll figure that out too," Eddie said. "We'll figure it all out together."
"You have all the answers, don't you?" Steve muttered.
"Only when it comes to you, sweetheart," Eddie replied and paused. "Do I need to get a mom?"
"I'll get Joyce. She's had a c-section," Hopper said and left the room.
Joyce came in a moment later and knelt at Steve's side.
"You a little nervous?" Joyce asked.
"A little," Steve admitted.
"I was just as scared when I was in your situation. I had no clue what was going on. My biggest fear was that they would cut into Jonathan. It's been 18 years now, and medicine has gotten somewhat better. These doctors, they know what they're doing. The doctors I had knew what they're doing, and Jonathan turned out fine," Joyce said. "But if you need me, then I'll be with you and make sure they don't hurt the baby too. That's also what El is here for. We won't let them take her, either. You've got an entire army out there prepared to do the same."
Steve looked at her with watery eyes, knowing how hard she fought for Will, and he knew she would do the same for their baby.
"Thanks," Steve croaked. "You can stay."
Joyce stood on Steve’s other side and took his hand. Eddie smiled at her, his own eyes filled with tears.
"Thank you."
It was weird not being able to feel or see what they're doing, but judging by the looks on El and Hopper's face, they saw the entire thing. Eddie could clearly see what they were doing, and he watched his face turn into a look of awe, then they all heard it. The cry. It sounded weirder than he thought it would. It sounded more like a screech than a cry. Then, the nurse was bringing her over and putting her in Eddie's arms. Eddie was sobbing.
"Oh, fuck, Steve, look at her, she's beautiful," Eddie sobbed.
He held her close to Steve’s face, and Steve started crying with Eddie. She was so perfect. Her skin was slightly gray, but they apparently weren't worried about that. Eddie leaned his forehead against Steve’s. El smiled as she took their picture.
"We're parents, Steve, we're goddamn parents," Eddie said.
A little while later, Steve laid in his hospital bed while their daughter laid against his chest. Eddie sat next to him while everyone filled the room. She wasn't wrapped up in the blanket. She preferred the cold. Steve smiled as he rubbed a hand over her back.
"Oh, look at her little wings," Dustin cooed softly, tears filling his eyes. "Oh, man. I am so not ready for this."
"Is she - is she going to have a tail?" Robin asked.
"Looks like she's going to have three," Eddie grinned.
Just above the diaper was a small cluster of bumps.
"You gonna tell us the little stinker's name?" Wayne asked.
"Alice," Steve said.
"That's my mama's name," Eddie said softly.
"I know," Steve said softly. "I know how much you loved her, and I know how much you want her to be here. In a way, she is. I also love Alice in Wonderland, so there's something in it for me, too."
Eddie cried as he kissed Steve and placed a gentle hand on Alice's back.
"Everyone," Eddie sniffled. "This is Alice Wynonna Munson. It's the closet we could get to the girl version of Wayne."
"Oh, hell," Wayne said and burst into tears.
"I thought you were going to be cool about this, honey," Claudia teased.
"They named the damned baby after me," Wayne said.
Wayne was the first to hold the baby, followed by Robin and Dustin. Steve thought for sure Robin was going to fight Wayne when he was hogging the baby. There wasn't a dry eye in the hospital room as everyone cooed and passed the baby around. Erica was the last one to hold the baby before passing her off to Steve.
"She doesn't like being warm?" Erica asked. "Our baby blankets are just going to be decorative, aren't they?"
"Yeah, sorry," Steve laughed. "Oh, I think she's hungry."
Everyone began clearing the room, offering their congratulations as they left. Steve smiled at his daughter as she suckled at his breast. It felt weird and wonderful at the same time. It was definitely strange to feel his breasts to be so swollen with milk. Eddie smiled softly as he stroked Alice's head.
"We're a family," Eddie said. "Tied together forever through her. There's no going back."
"I never want to go back," Steve said.
Eddie kissed him.

Do u have any trans masc Max Mayfield headcanons?
I haven’t thought much about it but now I have so MANY thoughts!
-Max hasn’t had a lot of positive relationships with the men in his life, so it takes a long while for the “hm I don’t feel quite right” to click. He doesn’t feel super comfortable as a girl, but he looks at his step-dad and Billy and is like “well I don’t want to be anything like that, so this has to be okay.”
-He definitely knows more about gender/sexuality stuff than the others because of growing up in California. So he’s thought a lot about it over the years, but just kept coming to the conclusion that he’s a tomboy (again, no positive relationships with men.)
-It’s actually because of Lucas (and the rest of the Party, by extension) that he really starts to get more comfortable with the idea. Because Lucas is sweet, and he’s gentle, and so unlike any of the other men he’s been around. Lucas is the first person that kind of cracks his view on gender roles and what exactly defines a man.
-He butts heads with Mike a lot at first just because of how insistent Mike is about him being a girl, how he’s different and unwelcome because of it, but (if this is also transmasc Mike) they realize they’re actually really similar and grow closer because of it, or (if this isn’t transmasc Mike) Max realizes that it isn’t the “girl” thing that bothers him, it’s the fear of replacing El.
-If it’s both transmasc Max and transmasc Mike, Mike comes out WAY earlier than he would’ve on his own.
-The boys are all really supportive when he comes out (which would probably be around the season 3 era). They don’t really get it at first, but he’s their friend, and they’ve always been very vocal about how they’d kill for a friend if needed. And really, seeing Max as a boy isn’t all that different from what they were doing already, so it’s an easy adjustment.
-In a similar fashion to Max teaching El about being a girl in the show, the guys take him out on a “boys only” night. It isn’t really any different than their usual hangouts- they go to the movies, play video games, eat way too much junk food, but the boys only title makes Max feel all fuzzy and warm inside.
-He comes out to Billy while he’s dying. He didn’t ever really plan on doing it at all, but his step-brother is dying in his arms and he needs to get it off his chest before it’s too late. Billy is a lot of the reason it took so long for him to feel comfortable as himself, and he thinks Billy knows that once it’s out in the air. Unfortunately, Billy’s dead before he can really give much of a reaction, just a weak little “I’m sorry.” And that’s nowhere near enough to make up for everything.
-He comes out to his family that night in a screaming match with his step-dad. Neil is an asshole about it, but it doesn’t really matter because the whole argument starts because he’s gonna leave them. Susan is incredibly supportive, and she turns around and kicks Neil out even though she’d been begging him to stay moments before. Gives Max one of those big, therapeutic hugs where Max just sobs into her shirt.
-Max cuts his hair off after Billy’s death. He’s never had a problem with his hair, he actually likes it long, but he’s messed up over everything that happened. He leans a lot more into the stereotypes he hated as a kid, acts rougher and more stand-offish. He breaks up with Lucas, stops hanging out with the rest of his friends. He feels awful, because this is the first time in his life that he’s only surrounded by people that support and love him, but he feels like he doesn’t deserve it.
-(Vecna has a field day with all that)
-Post canon, he does grow his hair back out again. Lucas dramatically informs him that men with long hair are hot (bi king), to which Max shoots back that that would mean Mike was hot. Lucas gives Mike a quick once over and is like I mean, yeah.
-Lucas likes to greet people and go hi, yes, this is my boyfriend Max. He’s so cool. He pretty much single-handedly saved Hawkins that one time. And Max stands there with his face bright red in his hands like oh my god shut up
-Lumax and Byler double dates with an obnoxious amount of homo, striking fear into the hearts of conservative smalltown Indiana
YES I love this sorry for making it angst near the end but yes yes transmasc Max I love him💞

I think Steve, Dustin, Lucas, and Max’s plotlines in S4 would’ve been a lot better if there was a focus on the relationships between the four of them.
For one, Lucas taking up basketball is an excellent opportunity for Steve-bonding and then Dustin getting jealous and latching onto not only the only other older dude in his life, but one interested in the same hobbies as him and therefore in no danger of ‘abandoning’ him. And if Dustin was just some kid in his club to Eddie before things went to shit? The drama. If Eddie was supposed to just be another version of Steve to Dustin they could’ve at least not been lazy about it.
For two, Dustin and Lucas were Max’s first friends in Hawkins and the love and support they give her should’ve been shown and explored just as much as her romantic one with Lucas.
As a side note, I think having Erica be noticeably upset when she learns about Max would’ve added a lot to both of their characters. Partially because the duffers don’t give Erica much of anything (as interesting as she is, she’s one of the worst written characters in my opinion) and partially because Max has been in Lucas’s life for almost two years by this point, which means Erica would have been somewhat close to her as well. Everyone got a reaction to Max being cursed except her. That’s her brother’s girlfriend on the chopping block! She’s going to care!
And finally, Billy was specifically written to be Steve’s foil so having Steve there successfully older brothering Max while she grapples with the grief of her actual brother’s death, what their relationship should have been vs what it actually was, would’ve and could’ve been an absolute sucker punch of emotional turmoil. Just the idea of Max feeling guilty over viewing Steve as more of a brother than Billy and wishing Billy could’ve been more like Steve when Billy did nothing to earn her care before dying in front of her is the kind of lost potential that keeps me up at night.
i will always fight for more time for my junkyard four, regardless of their arcs. but also, i totally agree, i think a lot of their plot lines were actually involved with each other, but for some reason we just didn’t get to actually see the relationships.
yeah, the whole jealousy thing is really underused and kinda weird, it would’ve been really cool if it went two ways! dustin jealous of lucas and steve’s bond, and then steve jealous of dustin and eddie, as both boys think the other two have more in common. and then the resolution. eddie telling steve that dustin worships him, and lucas telling dustin that steve talks about him all the time. and then we can get a conversation between dustin and steve where they hug and tell each other that they’re brothers and they love each other <3
dustin and max have really been forgotten about and it’s pretty sad. i get that dustin had a little crush on her, but he’s not the type to hold it against her. they’ve had so few scenes since s2, it’s tragic. just another example of the duffers prioritising romance over friendship.
i wish we’d gotten erica and max this season instead of nancy and robin. like, imagine that girl power team. it would’ve been fun to get any erica and max interaction, even maybe erica being a bit standoffish to max, because of all the lumax drama.
steve literally is max’s big brother, and the duffers don’t give him enough credit. like, max confiding in steve and opening up about her guilt, and steve reassuring her. ugh, that would’ve killed me.
it’s interesting because even though max has such a big role this season, i still feel like she got kinda tossed aside. i guess because we have such a huge cast now, it’s hard to focus on anyone. that’s why they need to start killing off characters. but not any of my favourites
but yeah, the junkyard four and erica, i would kill for them.

I am absolutely racoon feral for the way you write Steve and Eddie, (and the kids) in your story's.
Do you have any fun head cannons or thought in general about them? You portray their voices so well!!!! And the way you can write from either of their pov!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for sharing your work with us, I love it so much! I hope you have a wonderful day!
ok this is SO FUCKING NICE!! thank you so much <3
most of what i feel i know about them kinda comes up organically in my fics dependent on the au/setting, but here are a few things that come to mind:
i just love thinking steve has a special and unique relationship with all the kids. like helps lucas practice for the basketball season, shit talks with Max over milkshakes, goes to the comic shop with will. he can adapt to what the kids are comfortable with but is still totally genuine with all of them—he finds doing those things fun and gets to chat with them and whatnot
eddie really likes to distract steve when he's cooking/cleaning in the kitchen—hugging him from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder, grasping his hips; while steve likes to distract eddie while he's planning campaigns—laying out in front of him, crop tops, twirling his hair.
i think an eddie & nancy friendship would be super interesting, and i actually really want to write it more in a fic maybe. cause they seem so different on the surface, but i genuinely could see them somehow just ending up like ride or dies for each other. they have this weird friendship that no one else understands, but they're like both really passionate, a little jokey but no beating around the bush, care for the kids and so they're Tight.
side note of that one: charades with robin and steve being a team and nancy & eddie being a team is Lethal. add in argyle and jonathan as a team cause i said so, and someone Will almost be murdered.
i'm really into the idea of like coach or guidance counselor steve, who can help support kids and make them know they're worthwhile and can do whatever they want with their lives (like imagine future au and steve is a guidance counselor and his rockstar boyfriend just rolls up and everyone is like ... that guy??? is dating mr. harrington?? how did harrington land him??)
eddie's rings and bracelets are actually steve's personal fidget toys. when he's antsy and they're somewhere, steve grabs eddie's hand and twists his rings or twirls the bracelets, it settles him
dustin has such a permanent hold on steve's passenger seat, that if eddie is in the car he is required to sit in the back
that's what i got rn, but feel free to shoot another request through for au's, specific thoughts, etc. etc.
thanks again for reading my stuff :)

Hey!! love ur fics!! Wondering if i'm not bothering you but, Scott and the league of exes (minus Roxie) Find out your pregnant and there reactions!
you're not bothering me at all!! i've never gotten a request like this before so here you go!! >:))
scott and the evil exes (minus roxie) find out you're pregnant!!
scott pilgrim:
"oh fuck"
he panics
he's scott, of course he's gonna freak out a little
he immediately worries that he's gonna be a shit dad, that he's too young, that he doesn't know what he's doing
and then the joy sets in
"i'm gonna be a dad :)) that's so cool :)) i love you :))"
he won't cry in front of you but he sobs violently behind closed doors; yeah he's worried, but he doesn't think he's been this happy in forever
matthew patel:
"HOLY SHIT"
literally freaks out he is ECSTATIC
"IM GONNA BE A DAD FUCK YEAH THAT'S SO AWESOME"
immediately tries to communicate with the baby (you're going to have to explain to him that it is not yet a baby)
"what do you mean the baby isn't fully formed yet........" he's a little confused at first but he means well
he asks for your permission first, but he wants to tell literally everyone because he's really excited
lucas lee:
yeah he's a super famous actor, but he's also a sucker for domesticity
he tears up on the spot and hugs you tightly
he's wanted to start a family with you for so long, and now that it was finally happening, he couldn't be happier
"thank you so much for being mine"
todd ingram:
doesn't know how to react
yeah he's happy, but he's also really anxious
similarly to scott, he's worried that he isn't going to be a great dad
he just wants to support you and his kid and balance his career
he gets overwhelmed, but he's excited
his whole world is about to change, but he's glad that you're sticking around for the ride
kyle katayanagi:
"CAN I TAKE THEM TO A RAVE" "since when do you go to raves, dummy"
yeah no he is freaking the fuck out
HE'S GONNA HAVE A MINI ME!! A LITTLE HIM RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE!! A BABY!! A KID!! WITH YOU!!
he gets really giggly and smiley over it
"i'm gonna dress him up just like his daddy and we're gonna have matching outfits and i'm gonna show him all of my cool stuff and it's gonna be so awesome!" "and what if they're a girl?" "she's gonna be a daddy's girl, that's for sure"
needless to say, he is ECSTATIC
ken katayanagi:
he just smiles
unlike his brother, he gets excited on the inside
he smiles a warm, wide smile and hugs you
he runs his fingers through your hair and he tells you how good of a mother you're going to be
and of course, he promises to take care of you the whole time
he's going to be by your side regardless
gideon graves:
he doesn't react at first
he's always so busy with work, and he can barely balance it with you, so the idea of having a kid never really crossed his mind
he's going to have to sit on it. whether you choose to keep it is your choice, and he's going to respect it. but he's going to have to take some time to think.
after a little while (whether it be a few hours or a few days), he'll have his answer
he wants the kid. he doesn't know how he's gonna do it, but he's going to try his best to be the best dad ever
he's still working on treating you better than any of his exes. and now's his chance to prove that he's truly changed.

Passive vs Active Mike analysis: El is going to have to be the one who dumps Mike.
I’ve been having a discussion with some twitter mutuals and we’ve drawn this conclusion, I thought i’d share it with you guys
Mike is very passive in their relationship. In s1, he calls El pretty and kisses her, but that’s the only times he advances their relationship intentionally himself. In s3 they spend a lot of time kissing, but think about that awkward makeout scene - Mike pulls away to sing at her. Mike keeps pulling her hands down away from his face. When they ditch the Party at weathertop, El is the one who says they have to go home.  Later in s3, El is the one who dumps him, and he’s pissed off, but he just takes it. He shows no clear desire to get her to take him back (unlike Lucas, who’s pretty concerned with getting the olive branch from Max.) And then the contrast to his fight with Will that we’re all so familiar with - Mike fights with El, gets dumped, he takes it. Mike fights with Will, Will runs off, Mike actively chases after him through pouring rain to apologise and beg him for forgiveness.
In the S3 end scene where El comes up and kisses him, he just stands there. They don’t talk about getting back together. Mike doesn’t visibly reciprocate in any way, doesn’t even smile. He is passive, he just sort of lets it happen. He even sort of blocks her from kissing him when they’re all hugging as the Byers leave. When Will comes up to him to dump his DnD books, Mike is active, he asks the question to confirm their standing with one another - "What if you wanna join another party?" - and is happy with Will's response.
Another example of Mike's passivity in their relationship is the way Mike takes very little responsibility for their problems. For example, treating El “like garbage/like a pet” in her words, during their relationship in s3. When he lies to her and tries to apologise, he has no idea what he's doing and lets Lucas lead him. The few efforts he does make towards getting her back are supported heavily by Lucas, in fact. When she dumps him at the mall, he's like okay, whatever, no girlfriend then. But when he’s a dick to Will? Instant regret as soon as he realises he's gone too far, he doesn't wait around trying to analyse the situation, he's right out the door and he goes full on grovelling hands-and-knees begging to apologise.
In S4 the same thing happens - he pisses off El, can’t say her loves her, but instead of accepting that responsibility, he denies it and says he does say it (clear lie) and that El’s being ridiculous. When he pisses off Will, he’s straight in there to take responsibility for ignoring Will, he says Will didn’t deserve the bad treatment (and honestly, Will’s not even fully innocent either if you wanna get into that lol). He even apologises going back months and months. He’s passive with El, allowing her to yell at him and makes no real effort to defend himself or fix it. With Will, he’s active - he makes the move to apologise and reconnect.
Excluding their kiss in s1, every time Mike takes initiative and is active in their relationship, it’s never a romantic action. When he’s giving her shelter and food, when he’s calling her every day trying to find her (after she vanished in front of him) and when he and the Byers go on the road trip to find her, none of that is inherently romantic. The one time he says he loves her, she isn't even present, but Mike is desperate not to lose her/for El not to get hurt by their plan. Mike is active when it comes to protecting her.
The one active step he does take in their relationship is the monologue, but is that actually active? He's pretty much constantly being told by other people that being with El is the "right" thing to do - Nancy in s1/2 assumes he's into her, Lucas in s3 tries to help fix their relationship, just like Will in s4. Mike has been led to believe by Will that this will save their relationship, and he has an immense amount of trust in Will, so he follows what he thinks is right and tells her he loves her, because he's afraid she will literally die if he doesn't.
This is why I think El is going to have to be the one who officially dumps him. Mike never takes the initiative in their relationship. He didn't want to talk to her about getting back together in s3, and he didn't want to acknowledge their issues in s4 either. I've seen plenty of people (myself included) who believe that during the scene in Surfer Boy Pizza, El was going to officially break up with him. They got interrupted, and then it was too late.
But starting with s5, we've got the painting lie, and we've got Hopper back, and Mike is back on good terms with Will. El isn't talking to him, and they're dealing with the apocalypse, and it's strongly implied that El knows he was lying to her. I think El's going to dump him in s5, and he's going to ask about the painting, which she knows nothing about. I think that's going to happen fairly early on in the season, maybe even before the time skip, and be the catalyst for a lot of changes (and hopefully some more personal growth for both of them!) But Mike will not take that step himself.

Their Reaction To Reader Coming Out
A/N: In honour of pride month I wrote these headcanons of how the characters would react to you coming out to them. As a bisexual this was incredibly comforting to write. Happy Pride Month xx
Tumblr media
Steve:
I think if you told him you're anything other than gay or a lesbian he'd have no idea what it actually was and you'd have to explain it to him
Because he's from a rich white family in the 80's so got like zero exposure to gay culture growing up
But when you told him what it meant he wouldn't judge you
'Wait, so you like boobies and dick? Cool!'
He'd just be happy you felt comfortable enough to tell him
Robin:
I mean, something tells me she's not gonna be homophobic about it
I feel like she'd ask you who your crush is and get really excited when she sees you talking to them
She'd say you could always come to her for advice about stuff like that
She'd make you a pin with your flag on it
But it would be subtle so only you two know what it really means
Dustin:
He'd probably congratulate you
'Wow, dude, that's so brave of you to say.'
And he'd want to reassure you that he supports you so every so often he would just look over at you and smile
(And flash those pearly whites, ggggrrrr)
Lucas:
He'd be so chill
Like to the point where he wouldn't even react because it's that little of a deal to him
Until he sees you waiting for a response with a concerned expression
Then he'd just break into song:
'Be who you are for your priiiidddeee'
Mike:
He'd just lose all his brain cells
He'd just stand there, mouth agape
Not in a homophobic way
Just in an 'I have no idea how to react to this because I'm socially awkward' way
But after he gets over the initial shock he'd be completely fine and support you in his own awkward way
Will:
He'd just stare you dead in the eyes
And say so bluntly:
'Same'
Because you're the only other gay person he's ever met and he's in major need of someone to relate to
So you get really close after that
Eleven:
Honestly I don't think she'd know enough about LGBTQ+ to care
She was brought up in a place where no kind of love was shown
So she wouldn't really see why it's such a big deal to love whoever you want
She'd just be happy you have love in your life in the first place
But if she saw anyone mess with you because of it she'd definitely use her powers on them
Max:
Why does she give me the vibe that she has incredibly good gaydar
Like she just wouldn't be surprised at all
And obviously she'd reassure you and tell you she's proud of you and stand up to anyone who was mean to you about it
But she'd also tell you that she's been suspicious of it all along
Nancy:
I think she would just give you the biggest hug ever
And ask you to talk her through how you realised because she'd want to be able to understand you better
She'd definitely speak up if people were being homophobic
And she'd try to write some stuff for the Hawkins Post to make people more aware of the LGBTQ+ community
Jonathan:
I'm not gonna lie I think he'd be too high to care
He wouldn't actually know if what you told him was real or not
And then he'd ask you later
But be completely fine with it
'Oh, yeah, I mean, I'm pretty sure my brother's gay.'
'Do whatever you want, man.'
And then he'd proceed to get high again
Eddie:
He'd tell you if anyone ever bullied you because of it he'd fuck them up
And say if you ever needed anything you could come over to his trailer
(As long as you didn't mind the mess)
When you're walking anywhere with him he'd randomly just shout:
'GAY RIGHTS!'
And wouldn't care when people gave him dirty looks
Hopper:
He'd be all stuttery like he usually is when anyone talks about their feelings to him
I think he'd care less about the gay part
And go straight to asking you if you had a partner
Because he couldn't care less who you date
As long as they're a good person and treat you right
Joyce:
Omg she'd be the biggest ally
She'd ask you to stay for dinner all the time
And research a bunch of different sexualities on her chunky 80's computer
When she learned about pride parades she'd ask you if you wanted her to take you to one
She'd basically become a second mom
Murray:
He literally would not give a single shit
He couldn't care less if you told him you totalled his car, or he won the lottery, or you came out
He'd just want to know WHY THE HELL THIS CHILD IS TALKING TO HIM
And then he's just walk away

Life Is Ours, We Live It Our Way 14
Chapter 14 out of 18
Genderqueer Stevie with platonic soulmates Robin and Eddie living their best queer life.
In this chapter, over the course of spring break, Stevie connects with all his kids and is there for them, especially as El and Mike break up. Meanwhile, their new DnD campaign comes every closer, with that new characters to be introduced.
On AO3.
Ships: None (background stuff)
Warnings: Anxiety and misgendering that comes with not being out.
~~~~~~~~~~
The Kids
In the morning, the house is truly alive like Stevie’s previous house never was, reminding her of the Byers house whenever they all stay there. It’s amazing.
Stevie is cooking eggs and bacon nearly non-stop with Eddie helping in herding the kids, while Robin mans the toaster to get them all fed. It takes almost an hour, before the three can go and eat as well.
However, the kids are all having fun, with Lucas smiling as he talks with Dustin and Max. So, it’s very worth it.
Their whole house is taken over by gremlins, so they watch over them from the kitchen counter, eating as they stand up. Robin softly asks: “I saw the note. You two okay?”
“Nightmare,” Eddie gives her tight smile and she nods, half hugging him as she continues to eat with the other hand.
Stevie also nods that he’s okay, before he notes El standing and studying the fridge. Nervously he steps closer as he sees she’s mostly locked onto the picture from the fashion night he and Rob had a few months ago. He asks: “You okay there, El?”
“You are very pretty,” she comments, looking back at Stevie with her big serious eyes.
The compliment gives her a zing of endorphins and she smiles: “Thank you, El.”
“How come you’re not pretty more often?” she asks.
At that, Stevie hesitates. He has already explained homophobia to this girl and she has been one of Will’s greatest supporters, but is he really going to explain gender and expectations of gender to her in the kitchen on this morning?
Stevie looks at her again. She has no malice in her eyes, just innocent curiosity and Stevie decides it will be better if she’s the one to introduce it to her, instead of one of the kids, whom she’ll likely go to, should Stevie fail to give a satisfying response.
“Well, society doesn’t like it,” he settles on. “There are certain expectations about being a boy or a girl and if you don’t fulfill those expectations, people often get mad. Looking like that wouldn’t be safe outside.”
“Everyone should get to be pretty,” El frowns and Stevie remember the party telling her how badly El wants to be pretty, reclaim that feminine part of herself that was stripped by that horrid lab. And again her heart aches for this girl, who deserves so so so much better.
“They should,” he agrees with her.
“Do you want to be pretty like that all the time?” she asks, completely genuine and not knowing the emotions she is sending through Stevie right now.
“No,” she lies, breaking their number one rule. “I was just playing around with Robin. We were both trying different styles. Like you and Max do dress up sometimes.”
“I like it when me and Max do dress up,” El nods, as if she gets what Stevie is saying. It’s horridly cute. “We talk while we dress up.”
“What sort of things do you talk about?” Stevie asks, curious and glad to have a distraction from the picture on the fridge.
“Boys,” El whispers, leaning in like it’s some sort of secret. “Max thinks the Karate Kid would be a good kisser.”
“Does she now,” Stevie giggles.
“She does,” El says. “But we also talk about Lucas and Mike. Max has a lot of ideas about how they should treat us. It is why Mike and I broke up for a bit in the summer of ‘85.”
“Yeah?” Stevie asks, frowning a little. He hasn’t heard of this yet, but he knows Max knows her own self worth, so she wonders what the girl told El to get her to break up with Mike, while the two seemed practically conjoined.
“Max said he treated me like shit, like I was his little pet,” El confides.
Stevie desperately wants to know more. Now. She notices that they’re getting looks, so he puts on his best smile and asks: “Hey, El, wanna go outside and talk for a bit?” giving a look to anyone that looks like they’re about to offer to come too.
El frowns, but shrugs: “Sure.”
They go to the back porch where they now have a little bench and directs her to sit next to him there, smiling disarmingly at her.
“Is there something wrong?” El asks.
“I hope not,” Stevie answers. “But just in case, I wanted to ask without prying ears. I hope that’s okay?” El nods. “Why did Max say that Mike treated you that way?”
“It was back when Hopper rarely let me go outside. Mike came by often, but did not show me the female superheroes and we rarely hung out with my other friends. He was also lying me, but I only know that because we spied on him and Hopper made him,” El confesses. “And he did not tell me that he loved me when I was in California. But he does now.”
“And you’re happy with Mike?” Stevie asks. It still doesn’t sound the healthiest, but she’s not exactly a poster-boy for having normal relations herself.
“Yes, I love him. He has always been my friend,” El says firmly.
“Okay,” Stevie nods. Then can’t help himself and asks: “Can I give you a piece of wisdom?”
El thinks about it. Stevie likes that about her, she always takes the time to think about the things she’s told, so you know she means her answer. It’s refreshing after all the fake people like Tommy H. and Carol. “Yes,” she answers.
“You can love someone and not be with them if you’re not right for each other. Like me and Nance,” she tells her. “And it is also okay to want to try and be your own person without a partner for a bit. If you’re meant to be, you’ll find each other again. However, you’re also not required to love someone to make you a person. Or human.”
“Hm,” El hums, her only reply.
“I don’t know much about your relationship with Mike and it’s your life and your decision,” Stevie says. “I just know that those realizations were kind of revolutionary to me. So I thought they might not be evident to you either.”
“Thank you, Steve,” she says.
“Of course,” Stevie smiles, then decides to be a little brave and adds: “You know, friends call me Stevie.”
“Like people call me El?” she asks.
And he nods, because it is kind of similar. Both of them have reclaimed a bit of their name, changed it and shaped it alongside themselves to fit the person they want to be, instead of who others said they should be. So, he answers: “Exactly.”
Then she asks: “Why do only Eddie and Robin call you that? Are you not friends with the rest of the party?”
“I am,” Stevie confirms, then winks: “But they haven’t earned their cool points yet. You on the other hand are bitchin’ enough.”
That makes her giggle, before she says: “Max is bitchin’ enough.”
“Then I hereby give you the honor to tell Max that,” Stevie laughs, mentally wondering how that conversation will go and hoping that pushing her towards her friend, who seems to be a good influence here, will help her talk about what Stevie just said.
“I will,” she smiles, before skipping back inside.
Once she has gone back in, Eddie pops out and asks: “Everything okay there?”
“Yeah, El said something that worried me, but it wasn’t the worst thing, just some codependency that we might need to address at some point,” Stevie answers.
“Aren’t we all walking posters for that,” Eddie jokes, making Stevie laugh.
They drive all the kids home, subsequently getting invited to dinner by Joyce, since there won’t be a movie night this week, because the kids are holding one later. It’s spring break after all, no school the next morning.
The three, however, still have work they need to get to.
When they get to dinner – Robin of course also invited – Jonathan and Nancy have come back from college for the break.
It’s almost funny, Stevie thinks, that she thought she would spend her future with Nance, but now he has forgotten to make meeting up with her now that she’s home for break even an agenda point, while he has done so for movie night with the kids.
Still, it’s nice getting to catch up with both of them. College looks good on them and it’s nice to see them be happy after everything.
Robin, naturally, talks their ears off, asking all sorts of things about college life now that she’s waiting for her own acceptance letters. It’s something that hurts a bit, but Stevie can only smile at her enthusiasm. She deserves it.
El isn’t at the table, apparently off to have a sleep over with Max, but Will is there and excitedly asking Eddie questions about the new campaign. He is naming his new character Will the Worldly, a traveler, who is well learned in many things.
“I always be Will the Wise,” he tells Eddie. “But I’ve seen so much and I think that makes me more me then my wisdom.”
“Will the Worldly,” Eddie tests it on his tongue, then grins: “I like it,” which naturally makes Will beam.
It’s a nice dinner. Homey. The Byers will always be the closest thing to an extended family she or Eddie will ever have and each time they can come over, it’s a delight.
When they get home, it’s late and they have tupperware full of food with them.
Sunday morning, Stevie gets up early to meet up with Lucas to run. Both Eddie and Robin think he’s insane and they cling to him when he tries to leave, whining that they’ll have to eat Eddie’s cooking for breakfast, even if the man has learned to make some nice pancakes.
Lucas is already waiting for her when she manages to get free. They always walk to their meeting point, which is somewhere between their houses so that they’ll have a warming up.
As they start to run, Stevie notes that Lucas has gotten much taller over the year, already Stevie’s current height, which makes her feel all sorts of things. God, these kids are growing up. Right in front of his eyes.
He also notes that Lucas’ shoulders seems relaxed as they run. So, after a mile or so in silence, Stevie asks: “Slept well?”
“Yeah,” Lucas smiles. “Our talk helped a lot. Thank you.”
“No worries, I was just telling the truth,” Stevie smiles, happy to know Lucas is feeling better. But it reminds him of his other favorite Sinclair. “How’s Erica?”
“She’s been doing well. She just has her nights, you know,” Lucas shrugs.
“We all do,” Stevie says.
“Uh-huh,” Lucas agrees. “But I’m keeping an eye on her. Her grades aren’t slipping and she’s still social, just a little less. But we all know it’s harder to connect with people after this.”
Stevie nods, then asks: “You could maybe ask if Max would include her more often when she hangs out with El. I’m sure Erica would love having some friends that she can do something other than DnD with, who also understand.”
Lucas thinks about it, before nodding: “I can ask. I think Max loves her after she slashed the tires of that police car.”
“God, don’t remind me,” Stevie groans. “I’ll get my gray hairs too early because of you lot.”
And Lucas, the asshole, just laughs then speeds up a bit as he calls back: “Keep up, old man.”
It’s the fastest they’ve ran their track yet.
When Stevie gets back Eddie and Robin are sitting at the table, looking mildly alive as they sip their coffee and eat pancakes. A hot stack waiting for Stevie next to a steaming mug.
“You guys are the best, I love you,” Stevie groans, digging in.
“Love you too, dingus,” Robin smiles. “How was running for no reason?”
“It was fun,” Stevie smiles, the exercise always making him happy and awake. “Lucas looked better too. Has been sleeping well.”
“That’s nice,” Eddie says.
He and Robin have a double shift, so they take off after breakfast. The weekend combined with the fact that it’s spring break makes it that it is shaping up to be incredibly busy. Something that is homophobic according to Robin and Stevie can’t agree more.
Indeed, she’s exhausted at the end of the day. However, it is movie night and the kids will kill her and Eddie if they don’t show up, so they’ve moved their scene to next Sunday.
Movie night promises to be something, when he enters and is greeted by Dustin yelling: “Why don’t I have Stevie friend privileges?”
Okay, apparently that has traveled, Stevie thinks, unsure if she regrets it. Though, if he is to gather the courage to play Lady Stevie, then maybe this is a good start. He puts on a patented Harrington smirk and shoots back: “Didn’t El mention you need cool points?”
That earns him a round of guffaws as Dustin tries to defend himself and his coolness, which undermines the point he’s trying to make completely.
Once Stevie has gotten her entertainment she laughs: “I’m joking. You can call me whatever you want.” He sees the glint in Dustin’s and – more scarily – Erica’s eyes, so quickly adds: “Within reason and without being weird. Don’t think I won’t fight you, Henderson.”
Luckily, Dustin is just too smug to have Stevie privileges that he works it into conversation as often as he can that night, which is very affirming. Yeah, this was a good move, Stevie decides, cuddled up on the love seat with Eddie and Robin as always.
Curiously El and Mike aren’t glued together with El sitting next to Max and Lucas, while Mike is by Will.
Still it’s a fun night and it sucks to leave. Though all the kids excitedly shove their new characters in Eddie’s hands, telling him they can’t wait for the new campaign next Friday.
Mike is now Mike the Mutinous, deciding that he stands against authority, which tracks with what they know of him. For Dustin, he becomes Dustin the Dazzling, always ready with a solutions, presented in the most dramatic way. Lucas smiles when Stevie asks and says that it’s Lucas the Laureled, switching from his planned sports hero to war hero, since he feels like he has earned that sense of accomplishment. Stevie hugs him tightly after that.
Eddie is also very happy with how the kids have decided to showcase their growth and what they want to focus on when they’re sitting at home the next day. However, he laments: “These kids underestimate how long it takes to make a campaign. I can’t pull something out of my ass this quickly.”
Stevie snorts: “I have seen you pull full monologues out of your ass without issue. You’re gonna be fine. If you truly have nothing, we’ll just play a one shot to get used to the new characters.”
“You, sweetheart, are a genius,” Eddie grins. “And I am quite amazing, yes, thank you.”
“Idiot,” Stevie rolls her eyes.
“But you love me anyway,” Eddie singsongs.
“Sadly,” Stevie deadpans.
Eddie sticks out his tongue at that, stating: “Rude. I love you and this is how I’m repaid?”
“Get over yourself,” is what Stevie says, but he can’t stop smiling.
They fall into comfortable silence again, before Eddie tentatively says: “Hey, Stevie, princess, I haven’t seen you make a character yet. Are you planning on playing Lady Stevie?”
“I think so,” Stevie admits. “Do you think that’s a good idea?”
“Yeah, of course, if you think you’re ready then I support you,” Eddie says. “I wouldn't have killed Sir Stephen if I didn’t believe in everyone at that table. But it’s your decision.”
“Thank you,” Stevie smiles. “I really want to.”
“Then Lady Stevie it is,” Eddie grins. “Not going to lie, I’m excited for you. And I’ve been thinking about plot ideas for Lady Stevie much longer than these other characters. You and Lady Applejack are going to be the stars in the coming campaign.”
“Surprise me.”
“Oh, I plan too!”
Then both turn back to their original projects. For Eddie it’s his campaign, while Stevie is doing meal prep to make the rest of the week easier. In the background plays a Metallica album, since Eddie got to pick music tonight.
It’s not until he’s opening up Family Video, the next morning that the anxiety of what he has agreed to hits him. She knows she can back out still, but she’d feel bad and dislike himself for not going through with it.
Robin has a late shift, so he won’t really see her until he’s picking her up after and Eddie works the whole day. So, he’s stewing alone in all the bad reactions he’s sure to get from the kids when he pulls out his new character. Only to try to talk herself out of the spiral, because she knows these kids better than that. Rinse and repeat.
She survives her shift, feeling a bit calmer as he takes a moment to chat with Robin as they change the guard so to say.
At home, he starts cleaning up. It’s calming for the mind and it keeps his hands busy. Besides, it was time to clean again anyway.
However, he gets startled out of it by a knocking on his door. She frowns, wondering who it could be as she turns down the music and leans the mop against the wall. Opening the door reveals Mike and surprised Stevie greets: “Wheeler, what can I do for you? How did you even get here?”
“Nancy drove me,” Mike replies. “Can I come in?”
He looks serious and Stevie gets a bit concerned as she lets him in, making him sit at the table as she starts up some water for tea. As it boils, he sits across from Mike at the table and asks: “Is everything okay?”
“Uhm, El broke up with me,” Mike says, not looking up.
“Oh, kid,” Stevie sighs sympathetically, even if he isn’t surprised given that he might have unintentionally pushed this. “That sucks.”
“I- I don’t know what to do,” Mike says after a moment. “I don’t even know why I’m here, but- I- I just don’t know.”
“It’s okay, we’ll figure it out,” Stevie assures him. “Just tell me what happened, that sound okay?”
“Y- Yeah,” Mike nods and Stevie has never seen him like this. It’s a bit concerning. He starts to explain: “She, uhm- She told me that she wants to be her own person, find who she is without me, and that she loved me and that she always will, but that she didn’t want this right now.”
“And how do you feel about that?” Stevie asks.
“I don’t know!” Mike exclaims throwing his hands up. “I thought we were fine and now suddenly we’re not. And I didn’t do anything. If she loves me why doesn’t she want to be with me?”
“Well, not everyone who loves each other are meant to be,” Stevie says. “I loved Nance, but we weren’t meant for each other, it just happens. Sometimes it’s the right person, but the wrong time and that sucks, but it’s okay.”
Mike frowns: “I don’t want to be like you and Nancy. You never see each other again, I can’t live without El in my life.”
“Hey, just because you’re not together, doesn’t mean you can’t be in each other’s life,” Stevie replies. “I’m not together with Eddie, he’s still there. And I don’t see Nance as often, but she’s still there. You’re friends with the others in the party and they don’t just disappear.”
“But it won’t be the same,” Mike says.
“Something different might be good,” Stevie points out.
“Maybe,” Mike agrees. “But it can also be terrible. What if she becomes this whole other person and I don’t know her anymore. What if she doesn’t want to be friends. Or we can’t make it work and the party has to pick sides, which inevitably makes that we’ll fall apart!”
“Okay, tone down the teen drama,” Stevie tries to calm Mike down. “All of you are changing and growing up. It’s part of life. You’ve been through enough together for that not to happen, trust me here.”
“I just don’t get it,” Mike says, putting his head down on the table. “She is already a person. She’s El, our mage and superhero, you know. She’s cool. Why is that suddenly not enough? Why does she suddenly has to find herself outside of that?”
“Well,” Stevie says, personally knowing what it’s like to not really know who you are. “I can maybe give you some insight, but you might not like it.”
“Huh?”
Behind them the water boils and Stevie gets up to pour their tea. As she does, she says: “I have some wisdom here. Or at least what I think about her reasoning. If you think you can handle my opinion.”
“Tsk, you’re not wise in any way. Even Nancy has better advice,” Mike rolls his eyes.
“Then why not go to Nance, hotshot,” Stevie shoots back with a raised brow as he sits back down, sliding Mike his tea and taking a sip of his own.
Mike huffs again, then grits out: “Okay, tell me.”
“From what I’m hearing,” Stevie starts, trying to word it carefully. “El to you is who you first met and for her the person you met was very tied to the lab. That’s something she wants to get away from. With Max, she reads magazines and talks about makeup and boys and silly things girls her age talk about. With you she’s Eleven, the girl with superpowers. I can understand that she wants to take a moment to get away from that.”
It’s quiet as Mike processes and Stevie gives him all the time he needs. It’s never fun to hear that the way you treated someone you love in a way that hurt them, especially when you didn’t notice and mean it like that.
“Was I horrible to her?” Mike asks in a soft voice, a crack in the middle.
“No, Mike, you weren’t,” Stevie assures him. “You were there for her in a rough time and you’ve been her biggest supporter. I don’t doubt that you love her.”
The words tip Mike over the edge and Stevie watches with mild horror as tears start to slide down Mike’s face. His shoulders shake and he obviously tries to hide it, but it’s not working. So, Stevie only hesitates for a second, before she moves to the other side of the table and slings an arm around Mike, so that he can hide there and let it all out.
“It hurts,” Mike chokes out. “I love her and hurt her.”
“Oh, Mike, it’s okay,” Stevie says. “Let it out. You both loved each other and I’m sure El hasn’t been completely perfect either. It’s okay for it to hurt. First love always does.”
Mike cries for a little longer, before he manages to calm down. Then he harshly wipes the tears away and threatens: “No one can hear about this.”
“My mouth is sealed,” Stevie promises.
“Good,” Mike says, before he shrugs Stevie’s arm off him.
They sit in silence for a little, then Stevie says: “I know talking about it sucks. Trust me. Whenever I cry, I want to erase it too. But I won’t tell, so if you need a listening ear, I’m here. You can tell me how you’re feeling.”
“I don’t know,” Mike answers. “It’s weird. I wanted to ask you how to win her back, like this is only temporary. Like Max and Lucas. They broke up all the time. But now…”
Stevie lets him gather his thoughts without interrupting. After a moment, Mike continues: “Now I don’t think I should. But I also don’t like not being with her. I- I need her in my life. When I thought she was missing, I thought I was dying. How can I let her go?”
“You have to learn to accept it,” Stevie shrugs, the sad hard truth. “This wasn’t meant to be right now and you have to accept it. If you blame her for it or agonize over it, it’s only going to hurt both of you and drive you apart. She’s still your friend, don’t forget that. It’s hard to get over someone, but you’ll find someone new.”
Mike shoots him a confused look and asks: “You think I should go after Will?”
“Not if he’s a rebound, no,” Stevie says. “And that was not what I meant. Though exploring this other side of you is of course encouraged. I meant that this is not end. First love will always remain with you, but your first breakup isn’t the end.”
“It feels like it,” Mike grouches.
Stevie can’t suppress the smile as she nods: “I’m sure it does. But it isn’t. Why don’t you stay here for a bit and gather yourself. I’ll keep the others away if any of the hooligans you call friends come knocking. How does that sound?”
It looks like it hurts Mike to admit it – the whole going to Stevie for help thing probably hurts the teen – but he grits out: “Good. Thanks.”
“Alright,” Stevie says, getting up and going back to cleaning. He finishes up mopping and putters around as Mike sits and stares at the table. In total he sits there for about half an hour, before he says: “Can I get a lift home?
“Of course,” Stevie smiles, not joking, not today. So, she doesn’t say more and just grabs her keys and lets Mike pick the music.
When they roll up to the Wheeler house Nancy is waiting outside, visibly relieved to see Mike in the passenger seat looking okay. His eyes might be a bit red, but he’s nodding along to music Stevie can’t stand with a big, annoying grin.
“Mike,” she calls out, waving.
Stevie can see a scathing teen reply forming on Mike’s lips, so he cuts him of before he can and sternly says: “Let her worry about you. You deserve the support. Now scram, Wheeler.”
And Stevie is proud to say that Mike looks a bit like a deer in headlights, almost like when he was twelve years old again and just learning what an attitude was. So, Stevie grins and repeats: “Scram, Wheeler,” and laughs as Mike stumbles out of the car. He calls out to Nancy: “Say hi to Jonathan and your mom from me.”
“Thank you, Steve,” she calls back with a wave, before pulling Mike into a hug, who – surprisingly enough – lets her.
After that Stevie drives home, the debacle with Mike temporarily making him forget that she was anxious about the upcoming DnD night. However, he is reminded when tidying up their room, seeing the little figurine look over him.
It’s practically a relief when it’s time to pick up Robin from work so they can eat together. He desperately needs to be distracted and assured that it’s going to be fine right now.
Robin talks his ear off about all sort of things. A few hot girls came in, Keith was no help, she watched a fun movies and is going to force Stevie to watch it next shift, and there were a few rude customers.
Then she nervously rambles about how she still hasn’t gotten a letter from IUPUI, which has the best foreign language program in Indy.
“Rob, your essay was amazing. You still have time,” Stevie assures her, glad to focus on her problems instead of her own. “You’ll get that letter soon.”
“You really think so?” Robin asks. “Because, yeah, a mall fire is more than the average essay writer, but half of it was made up, since, you know, government cover up. What if I forget something I wrote and they think I lied – which I technically did – and I’ll get kicked out?”
“They’re not going to interrogate you,” Stevie rolls his eyes.
“Interrogate me,” Robin snorts, doing her stupid Russian accent that shouldn’t be funny after their run in with the Russians, but it kind of is.
“Yeah, yeah,” Stevie laughs. “I just know that you’re going to do great. Don’t worry about it.”
Robin shakes and repeats: “Don’t worry about it. I can do that. I’m great at not worrying. I just have to erase most of my personality and-”
“Robin,” Stevie scolds before she can spiral again, parking the car. “Relax. You’re going to be fine.”
“I’m sorry,” Robin grimaces. “And thank you.”
“No problem,” Stevie says. “Just try and put it out of your mind. It’s no use worrying about it and it’s important to relax.”
It’s a bit hypocritical of her to say this, but it works. Robin looks more relaxed when she gets out of the car and flounces up to the front door, unlocking it.
“My lady,” Eddie greets, giving her a quick peck on the cheek, knowing hugs aren’t her thing.
She laughs and takes his hand, giving it a kiss as she greets him in turn: “My lord.”
“You’re both dorks,” Stevie tells them as he enters.
“But you love us,” Robin sticks her tongue out.
“Don’t deny it,” Eddie grins, sweeping Stevie up in a hug that makes her giggle.
“I won’t, it was more a statement. A fact, if you will,” he replies. Then asks: “How was your day, Eds? Lot of assholes back for spring break with faulty cars?”
“A few. But it’s not that bad,” Eddie shrugs. “More interesting, did you know El and Mike broke up? Dustin and the band of other dipshits showed up at work today to come tell me.”
“Of course they did,” Stevie snorts, happy to laugh at her friend’s struggles now that the kids can also corner him at work.
“They broke up!” Robin exclaims. “I truly thought they were forever. My faith in love has taken yet another hit.”
“Love is overrated anyway,” Eddie says. “But you don’t seem surprised, princess.”
“Mike showed up asking for advice,” Stevie replies. “Which I will not discuss with either of you, so don’t ask. I know you two are worse than old ladies at church.”
“That’s rude,” Eddie gasps, faux offended.
“And you’re just as bad,” Robin backs him up.
“Yeah, yeah, but seriously,” Steve says. “I made a promise. And it wasn’t that interesting either. The two are going to be friends. It’s not going to be very different, I just won’t have to watch as Mike awkwardly tries to kiss her.”
“Oh god, a mercy for us,” Eddie wrinkles his nose. “I support the kid, it’s not that, but, eugh, awkward teen romance. Fuck no.”
“Touche,” Robin says, as she plops on the couch. “What’s for dinner?”
“We’re making lasagna,” Stevie answers.
“We?” Robin repeats.
“Yes, Robbie, I am learning how to cook, so that I can contribute more to this household than pancakes, eggs and pasta, as more people should do,” Eddie replies.
“Oi, I can make a salad,” Robin replies.
“Throwing lettuce and ranch in a bowl is not a salad,” Stevie tells her.
“Looks like you’ll be on dish washing duty for forever, Robs,” Eddie jeers.
“Maybe I like washing dishes,” Robin counters with a huff, crossing her arms.
“Whatever,” Eddie says, not believing her, before turning back to Stevie, who has been watching them with amusement, egging them on.
The lasagna turns out well and Robin compliments both of them and does the dishes gracefully, ignoring Eddie’s grin. Afterwards they put on the TV and laze around on the couch. At some point Wayne calls that he can’t make this Thursday for their dinner, which Robin is sad about since she could make it this week and she happens to like Wayne.
“Everyone likes Wayne,” Eddie argues and neither can really debate that, so they just agree.
Stevie still placates Robin: “You can come by anyway. Despite not being as great as Wayne, you’re still okay company.”
“You’re a fucking asshole, Stevie,” Robin giggles.
“I try,” Stevie grins back, having grown enough that the comment from Robin doesn’t hurt.
Soon after they go to bed. Both Stevie and Robin have a double shift on Wednesday this week, so they can use the full night. Stevie wakes up at some point, but is quickly lulled by to sleep by the even breathing surrounding her.
Work the next day is okay. Robin indeed forces him to watch that movie she mentioned yesterday. It is some sort of art house movie and Stevie gets exactly none of it, but she seems excited and there is not much better to do, except focus on the upcoming campaign, which only stresses her out. So, she gladly focuses on the stupid movie.
He and Eddie eat left overs that evening and Eddie continues writing the campaign, while Stevie busies himself by calling Madame Tucker to check in.
She’s just telling him about something Brian did for their half year anniversary, which is just adorable. Stevie is so happy for her. She deserves the happiness. When there is an urgent knocking on the door.
Eddie is blasting music on his headphones while working in his room as to give Stevie privacy, so he doesn’t notice the knocking. Stevie has half the mind to ignore it. This is her time and she doesn’t want to deal with whatever nonsense is knocking.
However, Madame Tucker stops mid-sentence to asks: “Is there someone trying to break down your door? Honey, what’s happening?”
“Steve!” Dustin yells and Stevie sighs.
“One of the idiots is knocking. Give me a second to tell them to piss off,” Stevie says, stretching the cord to reach the door.
“Oeff, mama Stevie fighting for her private time,” Madame Tucker laughs.
Stevie also huffs out a small laugh, before tilting the receiver down on his shoulder and throwing open the door. She places her other hand on her hip and raises a brow: “What do you want, Henderson. I’m busy.”
“But Robin isn’t here this evening,” Dustin frowns.
“I have friends outside of Robin,” Stevie protests, faintly hearing Madame Tucker laugh at him.
“Since when?”
“Since always,” Stevie says. “Now spit. Why are you bothering me?”
“I need your help,” Dustin replies. “Please, you’re the only one that can.”
A bit of worry creeps up Stevie’s spine at that and she drops the hand on the hip and softens his tone to ask: “Are you okay? Did something happen?”
“Suzie’s birthday is coming up and I need to mail her something and I have no idea what,” Dustin tells him, soothing her worries and making him roll his eyes at the teen’s dramatics. “You saw with Mike and El that it can all fall apart in moments. I can’t let that happen to me.”
“And this couldn’t have waited until tomorrow, because…?” Stevie sighs.
“Because it’s urgent, Stevie,” Dustin says, emphasizing the name, obviously trying to play into their friendship to guilt Stevie, which is a bit funny, but Stevie isn’t complaining.
“No shops are open right now,” Stevie tells him. “I can help you tomorrow. Before my shift we can go into town and look for something. Right now, I’m talking to my friend and you need to go home, okay? It’s late.”
“But you have to drive me to the city,” Dustin argues. “They don’t have enough here. We can go now and have tomorrow morning. If we rush we might be back before your shift.”
“I’m not driving you to the city,” Stevie rubs her brow tiredly. “You can find enough in Hawkins, trust me. If you need to go to the city, bother Eddie.”
“Eddie’s gay, he doesn’t know what to gift a girl,” Dustin says.
“Then ask Jonathan, he’s free and here,” Stevie says.
“Jonathan and Nancy got together purely by accident, he won’t be any help,” Dustin rolls his eyes, as if Stevie is the stupid one for not realizing that. “And he and Nancy are leaving for Cali tomorrow to go visit Argyle. It has to be you.”
From the receiver, Stevie can vaguely hear Madame Tucker laugh and he knows he’s going to get so much shit from her about this when Dustin finally leaves.
“Well, if you want my help so badly, we’re looking for something tomorrow morning in Hawkins, Henderson,” Stevie puts her foot down. “Now, it’s late, I’m talking to a friend. Go ask Eddie for a ride back home.”
“Whatever, mom,” Dustin scowls, hearing that there won’t be arguing. “Who even is this mystery friend?”
“No one you’ll know,” Stevie answers, not in the mood to make up something other than ‘a drag queen I met in the city, who helped me discover my gender,’ she’s already panicking over DnD night, she doesn’t need that conversation.
“Are you cheating on Robin?” Dustin asks with a disapproving frown.
“I am not cheating,” Stevie snaps. “I swear to god, Henderson. Now stop with the invasive questions and go bother Eddie. He’s in his room, keep your eyes closed unless you want to be spoiled and shake him. He at least knows what privacy means.”
He ushers Dustin down the hall with another look, before holding the receiver to his face again and saying: “Sorry about that. Please continue.”
Madame Tucker just laughs for a full ten seconds without saying anything, before gasping: “I’m so sorry, doll, but that kid. That’s Dustin, right? The nosy one?”
Dustin just comes walking by, so Stevie sends him another look and answers: “Yes, that was indeed Dustin, the nosy one.”
Naturally Dustin guffaws in offense at that, while Eddie laughs, spinning his van keys around his finger as they leave.
After that Madame Tucker can continue her story about Brian. It’s so comforting and nice to know that his friend is happy and that there are queer people living their best life out in the city, much like she, Eddie and Robin are building their life here.
When Eddie has returned and is blocking Stevie out again, he confides: “I’m going to be playing Lady Stevie in our upcoming campaign this Friday.”
“Congratulations,” Madame Tucker says. “That’s a big step.”
“I know, kind of freaking out right now,” Stevie finally acknowledges the anxiety that has been eating him ever since he decided. That slimy feeling inside his throat, the way her heart beats too fast if she thinks about if for too long, and how he feels like he’s about to crawl out of her own skin with what ifs.
“Oh honey, I’m sure Eddie will let you back out if it’s stressing you out that much,” Madame Tucker tells her softly and soothingly.
“Yeah, I know,” Stevie says. “But I don’t want to. I want to play Lady Stevie. I’m looking forward to it. I just also want to skip over to the part where it’s good without having to face the possibility that it can take a moment for it to be good. Or the possibility that it might never be good.”
“That is terrifying,” Madame Tucker agrees. “But I’m so proud of you, honey. You’re taking the steps. You’re doing it. Don’t forget how strong that makes you.”
“I won’t. Thank you,” Stevie says. “I just wish I would stop stressing about it.”
“Then try and get out of your mind for a little bit,” Madame Tucker says.
Stevie makes a thoughtful noise, unable to help how her mind drifts towards doing a scene. It is the best way to get out of his head, he discovered. Maybe it would help. However, she’s doing a scene this Sunday. She can wait a little. So, “I’ll try,” is all he answers.
“Good,” Madame Tucker smiles, before they both say their goodbyes and hang up.
After they’ve done that, Stevie hangs around the kitchen for a bit, making two cups of tea and mulling over what was said.
A scene.
Fuck, that sounds nice right now, honestly. However, it’s almost time for bed and missing sleep won’t help with the anxiety, so tonight is out. Tomorrow Robin is coming and while they have been playing with the idea of telling her soon, canceling on her and then telling her doesn’t sound like the best way to do it. And the day after is DnD night already.
The thought sends another spark of anxiety through her, but she pushes it away. He’s going to have fun and it’s going to be fine. He can de-stress Sunday. Just a few more days.
It’ll be fine.
She finishes up the tea and takes the two mugs to Eddie’s room, which is honestly a very strangely decorated guest room.
Eddie noticed him and takes of his headphones as he smiles: “Good talk?”
“Yeah,” Stevie smiles back. She likes talking with her friends. “Brian took her to the park during the night and they had a picnic in the dark. Isn’t that absolutely adorable?”
“Ahw, that’s nice,” Eddie says and accepts his tea. “Ah, thanks, sweetheart.”
“How’s the campaign coming?” Stevie asks.
“It’s going to be so cool,” Eddie gushes, excitement sparkling in his eyes. “This is one of the best campaigns I’ve written so far. I’m very excited for it. For a moment, I thought it wouldn’t be the best, since I have so little time, but I do well under pressure, it appears.”
“That’s nice,” Stevie says, giving Eddie a fond look. “I’m looking forwards to it.”
“Yeah?” Eddie asks, probably noting the anxious undertone there.
“Yeah,” Stevie assures him. “Just a bit nervous, but that’s to be expected. It’s manageable, don’t worry. If it truly gets too much, I’m changing it to Lord Stevie and no one has to know.”
“Okay,” Eddie says, though not sounding a 100% sure. “Just tell me if there’s something I can do other than backing you against the brats.”
“I will,” Stevie promises.
They drink their tea and get ready for bed as they roll their eyes at Dustin, who apparently interrogated Eddie about the friend Stevie was talking to.
“Nosy little shit,” Stevie mutters as he settles into the bed.
“You’re telling me,” Eddie laughs as he snuggles up behind Stevie.
“Goodnight, Eds.”
“Night, sweetheart.”
Despite his complaints about the kid, Stevie shows up at the Henderson house bright and early the next morning to help the kid find a present to mail to Suzie.
It’s more difficult than Stevie imagined, since Dustin is very picky and judgmental, wanting it to be perfect, and it has to be suitable, so that it won’t get thrown out by Suzie’s deeply religious parents, who already dislike Dustin for not being Mormon.
The only positive is that Dustin knows a lot about her and has forced Will to give him a highly detailed description of her room.
“What about this?” Stevie asks, holding up a cute teddy bear that’s holding a heart.
“No,” Dustin says. “She’s highly intelligent and fifteen years old, okay. She doesn’t need a teddy bear. That’s stupid, geez.”
“Well, fuck me, I guess,” Stevie mutters under his breath and puts the teddy bear down again, before continuing to explore the store.
After a few moments, she asks: “Isn’t there a way to get flowers delivered on that day? You can’t go wrong with flowers.”
“That’s too basic,” Dustin answers. “I want it to be personal.”
“Then what are we doing here?” Stevie says. “We should be at some nerd store or like the hardware store. Didn’t they say they found her installing something on the roof? Do you know if there’s some tools she’s still missing or some shit?”
“And this, is why I invited you,” Dustin exclaims, already booking it out the store.
“You forced me to come,” Stevie yells after him, as she follows, exasperated by Dustin’s dramatics about the whole thing.
As they make their way over to the hardware store, Stevie spots El alongside Max and Erica. He’s glad the three seem to be getting along and pauses to greet them: “Hey there. Where are you three off to?”
“We’re having a post-break up girl day for El,” Max replies.
“That’s sweet,” Stevie smiles. “How are you feeling, El?”
“A bit odd,” El shrugs. “Me and Mike have been together for a long time, so it is weird. But it is also good. We are going to try on fun clothes and shoes at the store until we are kicked out.”
Stevie laughs: “That sounds like a lot of fun.”
“It is,” El smiles back brightly.
“Yeah, and we’re getting ice cream after,” Erica interjects, holding up her hand. “And we had a deal, sailor.”
“God, don’t remind me of that,” Stevie groans, digging around in his pocket for his wallet. “You know, we made that deal when ice cream was still free for us.”
“A deal is a deal,” Erica replies without remorse. “You should have put in a clause, but you didn’t.”
“Steveeee,” Dustin calls. “Hurry up. I want to post it today.”
“We still have time,” Stevie yells back. Then hands Erica the money and softly asks: “Have you been doing okay?”
“I have, don’t worry. I already have one annoying, hovering big brother,” Erica rolls her eyes, but she is obviously pleased by Stevie asking.
Stevie decides to focus on the feeling of being considered family by Erica rather than the brother part and gives her a half hug. “Alright, just asking,” she says. “You girls have fun.”
“We will,” Max grins mischievously. She has discovered that people tend to be awkward around her crutches and that she can get away with more. Stevie is sure she’s going to utilize that for their plans today.
He follows Dustin to the hardware store, where they spend nearly an hour looking for something that Suzie doesn’t already own and would still like. And after that, they spend almost as much time picking the perfect card.
In the end, they take so long that Dustin follows Stevie to work to write the card there so he can ask if the text is okay.
Robin thinks that’s hilarious and sets to re-shelving tapes, then rewinding them to ensure Stevie is trapped at the counter with Dustin.
When Dustin has finished his first draft, he holds up the notepad and asks: “What do you think of this?”
Because Dustin is holding it, the notepad sways slightly, which makes it hard to read. Not to mention that Dustin’s handwriting isn’t the clearest either. So, Stevie squints behind her glasses and tries for a second. However, the letters don’t cooperate and she gives up. “You really want me to read all this?”
“Don’t be a dick, Stevie,” Dustin whines. “This is serious.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know, drama queen,” Stevie says. “You just expect me to read your fucking dissertation or something, while I can’t read for shit. Here, give me that.”
He snatches the notepad out of Dustin’s confused hands and tries again. However, her concentration is broken by Dustin asking: “You struggle with reading?”
Stevie gives him a ‘duh’-look, even if she never mentioned it, not wanting it to be a thing. But, the fact that he’s still working retail should have been a give away. Besides, she’s never denied it that much. “Yeah, I do. Those nerd books of yours, far too wordy for me. I’m not working retail because it’s my passion, Henderson.”
Dustin pulls a thinking face that Stevie has learned to distrust, but Dustin surprises him. “You should put a ruler under the lines. It helps Max with her vision being all out of whack and stuff. It can’t hurt to try.”
“Alright.” Stevie doesn’t have much to loose, so he rummages around for a straight piece of paper he can hold under the line. She doesn’t think it will work, but it helps and the reading is a little easier, even if it’s slow.
As she reads, Dustin waits patiently until he’s done, so that she can give genuine feedback on the card that is honestly very romantic and sweet.
“I think it’s really nice, Dustin,” Stevie smiles. “But for spelling you’ll have to ask Robin.”
“Did I hear my name?” Robin comes from the back with re-wound tapes.
“Yes, check the spelling,” Stevie tells her, taking the tapes and trapping her at the counter like she had done to her earlier.
When he gets back, Dustin is carefully copying the fine-tuned text onto the card, before he deems it done. Then he follows Stevie around, theorizing about the new campaign and asking questions about Stevie’s character.
It makes Stevie nervous again.
He’s been ignoring any thoughts about it, which has been working so far. However, this puts her right back on the edge. He doesn’t want to get into his character right now, not in the middle of fucking Family Video.
Dustin notices, of course he does, so he asks more and more, until Stevie practically snaps that she doesn’t want to talk about it right now. Something he immediately feels bad about when Dustin gives her a hurt face.
“It’s just- Well, Eddie mentioned something about working my backstory into the plot,” she bends the truth. “I don’t know what he wants you to know. I didn’t want you to go digging to figure out clues and shit. Sorry.”
“Oh, okay, it’s fine,” Dustin says, a bit quieter than before.
But he doesn’t leave. Robin lets Stevie clock out a little earlier so he and Dustin can drive to the post office, where Stevie pays for shipping to make up for it.
It’s quiet in the car, then Dustin asks: “You still want to play, right? You have a character? It’s okay if you don’t like it, but just say so.”
“No, no, no, it’s not like that,” Stevie says. “I swear, your nerd game is more fun than I thought. I want to continue playing with you all. I’m just a bit stressed. I shouldn’t have snapped like that. You don’t deserve that.”
“Okay, just checking,” Dustin says, his voice brighter and lighter than earlier. “And if it’s a nerd game, then you’re a nerd now too.”
“The horror,” Stevie exclaims dramatically, laughing when Dustin does, glad they made up.
They pick up Robin, who boots Dustin down to the back using girlfriend privileges, which Stevie knows Dustin is bitter about and she is not looking forwards to all the shit she’s going to get when the kid figures out they were never dating. He hopes Dustin will understand. And with how he’s been there for Will, Stevie trusts that he has some ground to stand on there.
Stevie drives Dustin home and the kid talks the whole ride about the campaign tomorrow. Usually, Stevie would love that as background noise, but today it only makes her more anxious and she’s glad when they arrive at the Henderson house.
God, he needs it to be weekend.
There is anxiety thrumming through her veins and she’s quieter than normal. He’s sure Robin picks up on it, but she doesn’t ask, which he is grateful for.
Stevie just needs to relax, try to get out of her own head. Cooking will help. Spending time with Eddie and Robin will help. Tonight will help.
He’s fine.
He’s totally fine.
Just a breath in and a breath out.
~~
A/N:
El is coded as a trans girl and you cannot change my mind, I’m sorry, but I am just factually correct, fight me about it.
I have mixed feelings about Mike x Eleven and Mike x Will. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about Mike and he’s making it really difficult for me this chapter lmao (I curse him while I’m the one who made this story line but shush xp)
Dustin can be a little blunt, but he is a supportive and kind friend and I will stand by that
Also, I wanted a chapter about the kids, just to show that this is a standard. I never really write much of the everyday help with the kids, because it’s not central, however, it does continually happen in the background. I love good babysitter Stevie <33
If you were in the writers room of ST5: how does it end? Like what is the most satisfying, dream ending for you
my dream ending is montage ‘where are they now’ deal. maybe it starts with a shot of the party +in mike’s basement playing dnd like old times with mike as the dm, and dustin now runs hellfire club and visits suzy occasionally. eddie’s name is cleared and people build a public monument bc i say so
lucas has completely cut ties with the basketball team, and is dating max and has their promised film date. lucas never fails to visit max’s physical therapy sessions, and always serves as her moral support. lucas and her exchange stories about their time together, and time apart where lucas talks about his time playing with the hellfire club. max has no idea what hes talking about, even calling him a nerd in the process. but internally shes enjoying herself bc she finally sees lucas be himself again, and thats the boy she fell for. they plan to go to college in the same state.
next shot is will, hopper, el and joyce in the morning located in the kitchen making pancakes and eggos, with hopper making el her favorite from her old days in the cabin. hopper tries to flip pancakes but fails most of the time. el and will are throwing blueberries at each other and joyce yells at them not to waste food, though with no real anger in her voice. joyce wipes some whipped cream on hopper’s nose, and he laughs and licks it off. as theyre all eating breakfast, el looks at her watch and tells will he’s gonna be late, and pushes him to go already. will glances at the clock and practically jumps off his seat, taking his backpack with him and waves off to his family. joyce telling him to have fun and hopper yelling ‘3 inches!’ el playfully hits her dad on the shoulder and laughs. she watches her brother go out the door with a huge smile on her face and goes back to the convo with hopper and joyce. she talks about having plans with max later. she relishes in the fact that she finally feels the love she needs and wants; with her family.
shot shifts to will taking his bike outside and running to jonathan fixing the car. he jokingly asks jonathan if he can drop him off, but he knows its probably for the best if he didnt. jonathan laughs and nods at his joke. will and him share a short but sweet moment where will hugs him, telling him he’ll miss him as he goes to college. jonathan told him he’s not going anywhere, and that he decided to stay; with him and nancy talking about their different paths but still promising theyre closer than ever, not wanting to get im the way of nancy’s dream while she respects his decision on being there for his family. will, silent, holds back his tears as he initiates another hug, and they exchange ‘i love you’s. jonathan tells him to have fun, but not *too* much fun. will rolls his eyes and bikes off with a grin on his face.
final shot is of of him biking to a beautiful morning on the seaside of the beach. he looks for a figure, until he found a slim silhouette of the boy he loved leaning next to a car. he approaches him sneakily, making him jump out of fear. ‘asshole!’ he laughs. will just replies with a breathy ‘hi, mike.’ after biking for so long. the boy chuckles and pulls will close and kisses his cheek, letting their foreheads touch and the shot is a closeup of their faces with the sun between them.
‘hi.’
mike asks him if hes ready and will enthusiastically agrees and rides with him on the front seat. they talk about the college they plan to go together, with mike planning to write and will to take art, living in a dorm together and talking about writing a comic together. its a conversation they never tire to fantasize about. mike then says, ‘i dont know. isnt it too crazy of a dream?’ will reaches for mike’s hand and the latter squeezes back tenderly. ‘hey, we’re a team, remember? crazy together.’ mike smiles back with pure adoration. how could he turn out so lucky?
‘right. crazy together.’
then they drive off to the sunrise/sunset idk credits roll im the third duffer
Trouble Starter
Basically, the reader is Dustin's older sister, she’s got tattoos, and wears cut up band T-shirts and a leather jacket. She goes to a catholic girl school a few years ago, had some mental health issues, and overdosed. Since then Dustin has made it his mission to keep her safe. Idea came from @lynne0nfire and she has helped work on this as well
In the 15 years of Dustin’s life, he swore to keep only one secret...his older sister Dahlia Henderson. From their mother and father’s sudden divorce to him rarely seeing his sister and then seeing his sister laying in the hospital bed pale and barely breathing. His mom frantically talked to the doctors to see what happened to her. Mike, Lucas, and Max visited Dahlia’s hospital room every day after school with Dustin for moral support. Their father showed up once with his mistress and their children, Dustin ignored his father, eventually kicking them out of the room for the mean comments his dad’s girlfriend kept making. Days passed and Dahlia’s health improved enough for her to be sent home into her mother’s care despite the arguments that her parents had over who needs to be raising their daughter. It was a Friday night when Dustin got a ride home from his Dungeon Master Eddie “The Freak” Munson except this Friday Dustin was in a rush to get home not only was it make your own pizza night, but his sister was coming home from the hospital and he was eager to hug her. “Eddie! Come on let's go, I got places to be and it's pizza night!” Eddie was curious as to what was so special about the Hendersons’ Friday night dinners but Dustin was never going to tell Eddie about Dahlia’s existence. It was his job as the little brother… no the man of the family to protect Dahlia. Their mother was busy in the kitchen making the pizza dough from scratch as Dahlia was up in her old childhood bedroom finding a change of clothes for after her shower. Claudia could hear her son and his friends make their way up the driveway and soon her home was filled with her son and his friends talking as the older boy stood by the door. “Eddie? Care to be of assistance please? I need you to set the table please, ask Dustin if you need help.” Eddie knew better than to decline an offer from Ms. Henderson, especially when he would rather have a home-cooked meal than the bowl of cereal he would have made for dinner. Of course, Eddie knew that every now and again Wayne would cook but it was a rarity and took the majority of the day to cook. Eddie smiled, setting the table wondering where Dustin went, but soon heard the familiar beat of Iron Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name softly thud upstairs summoning him to find the source of his second favorite song. The music swirled around his head as he tried to find the source of the music, eventually walking into a bedroom judging by the decor and the faint smell of perfume it belonged to a girl. “Dude what the fuck are you doing in here?! Get Out!” She yelled, throwing a hairbrush hitting his chest as she slammed the bedroom door in his face. “I’m so sorry I didn’t really see anything I swear!” Eddie shouted through the door before rubbing his face anxiously marching downstairs as Dustin looked at his older friend with concern. “What did you do Eddie?” He froze at Dustin’s question, he was caught off guard and thought Dustin was downstairs with his mom. “Oh, I um…. I guess your guest left her door open and thought I was being a creep. But I wasn’t, I was just looking for your room to see if you had anything embarrassing.” He hoped Dustin would just brush it off like he always did but I guess this wasn't one of those times. “Stay away from her, Edward Munson. I’m serious.” Eddie was shocked at Dustin’s stern tone; it reminded him of when he was young and Wayne would scold him for something he did. That was the end of it before they all sat down at the dinner table helping Ms. Henderson to prepare the toppings, Dahlia sneaking glances at her brother and his friends while Mike and Lucas inform Dahlia of what’s been happening in their lives over the past few weeks while she’s been in hospital. Eddie smiled politely even if he was confused as to how everyone else at the table knew who this girl was and found it easy to converse with her, but he had no idea who she was or why it seemed like she was staying with Dustin and his Mother. Then, he eventually caught Dahlia staring at him, more specifically his fingers; she could tell by the nicotine-stained tips and the faint smell of weed, that Eddie was just her type. Her thoughts ran wild at exactly how she could get him on his own to see if he had anything stronger hiding in the pockets of his leather jacket. It wasn’t until her eyes locked with Eddies, that Dustin said her name while glaring at her, awakening her from her trance-like state. Dahlia was unsure of how long she had been staring at Eddie but she was 100% certain when their eyes met it was like taking special K for the first time all over again.
Many, MANY notes about Father Lucas Lovewright, the Antichrist Priest:
The concept that Lucifer would use Lucas’ mother, Samantha Lockhart, to bring Lucas to Earth because he believed that having the Antichrist part human too would make him extremely powerful when humans would feel and think so much more stronger than a demonic being ever can, and he was right, but the thing with Lucas, all of the rage and disgust and other terrible feelings he had, he only used them as a weapon against himself rather than anyone on Earth.
Ever since he was a kid going to churches, his body would very slowly decay by being in sacred places and interacting ( seeing hearing touching etcetera ) with anything sacred, so over the time as he got older, he began to lose half of sight and hearing with half of his body burning, and no one including himself really knows why when his demonic blood can not be detected in manmade tools and human eyes, so he had to live like this for so long until he learnt about his father and demonic originals before he was able to learn how to shapeshift, removing the burns off of him. Though Lucas rarely hides his burnt side because despite how it reminds him terribly about the effects being in sacred place, of being the Antichrist, he can't hide what is simply a part of him. A REAL part of him that he is still trying so much to love while hiding it only means he hates and fears part of himself, and he can not have that.
Lucas originally had one leg ( akin to Sirenomelia ), but rather than being called a mermaid, he was called a Snake Spawn, a Child of Serpent, the Serpentine Son, so forth. Was eventually given two functional legs by Lucifer when Samantha sacrificed her entire own.
Have essential tremor disorder, selective mutism, and some form of synesthesia.
After Lucas was born, for seven days, something terrible would occur to the town / city he was born in, and many people believed his birth was responsible for the disastrous events.
Flies would ALWAYS follow Lucas around outside and indoor since he was a child, but eventually, when he grew more powerful while forming more love towards himself, those flies would end up turning into fireflies.
Lucas being an amazing singer, plays a piano so well... He’s also a hymn writer, but all of his work is shared under anonymous.
Lucas having a cane that can turn into a snake, which can be considered to be his emotional support animal.
Father Lucas rescues and takes care of many black cats when, unfortunately, they are associated with unluckiness and evilness. Sometimes after Sunday mass or whenever he has the chance, he will set up a small adoption event for people to adopt his cats. A lot of people passing and even a few of those who did attend to his church would give him a funny look, but that’s okay. He probably have one black cat he have always taken care of since he was a child. I don’t know her name yet, but she’s an oriental shorthair!
He was born on December 24 or 25 at exactly 12:00am. Don’t ask me where, I haven’t figured out yet, but your pretty priest here is a Capricorn.
He’s a very touch starved individual, but he’s usually awkward / nervous to give physical contacts to people ( but gets a lot better with people he’s close to ) due to him rarely receiving them or usually things go wrong when he touches someone, so he often plays with his own hands, hugs himself, rubs his cheeks, etcetera. Even there are times he just holds his own hands with a thought he’s holding someone else’s hand.
He loves to cook and bake so much.
He often takes the time to visit graveyards and gives flowers to each graveyard, despite never having to know these people before.
He have a habit of absently doodling hearts on any papers he write on, even the professional kind of papers.
Father Lucas is always dressing up so formal or at least semi-formal, even at home ‘cause this man, really have no idea what casual means ( I don’t even think he knows what pyjamas are ), but if he does ever end up wearing anything casual in front of your muse, that just means he’s very... relaxed around them.There is one kind of a casual clothe that Father Lucas definitely loves to wear ( regardless of the temperatures of the atmosphere because I don’t think his body would be able to sense much heat, if not at all ), and that is sweaters. He owns little of them though as he’s very careful with the money he spends on, though he does try to knit a few despite his conditions, which would take him literally months, but he’s a determined individual, so he would get what he wants regardless of anything.
Father Lucas would love to have a child, but he can’t because of so many reasons, primarily his fear of having a child who wouldn’t exactly have a peaceful ordinary life, as well as he can’t have his demonic side of the “family” grow, so he would end up adopting a lot of kids and taking care of them until they get older and choose to live independently.
Father Lucas have a morning custom of practicing smiling to the mirror. With half of his face burnt off and is numb, it is hard for him to tell if he is actually smiling and when he looks at himself doing so, his smiles never look like one. Instead, they appear more crooked, more of mockery, his smiles appear as sneers at everything and everyone around him. A false display of kindness. And it always hurt them to see his smiles are like that, to think people believe his smiles are anything but kind and gentle. So every morning, after he takes a shower and changes into his clothes for the rest of the day, he will take at least a few minutes to practice smiling and trying to appreciate them. Even when Father Lucas may not be at his best mood, he still tries to smile, grateful that he is still given the ability to have that when God could have his entire face burnt off and take his smiles away.
Father Lucas is a very modest man who rarely uses his powers unless he really has to, especially when it comes to helping people in dire situations that can be ended more quickly if powers were come to used, so teleportation is rarely used for short distance ( home to a mall, home to a friend’s house, etcetera ), while he does teleport in longer distance ( one city to another, one country to another, etcetera ) because he doesn’t like to ask the Greed itself for money. Though Father Lucas can’t ride on anything due to having one leg entirely numb, he doesn’t take buses because he’s usually not comfortable having to be in a group of strangers when he has always been subjected to endless concerned staring and judgemental whispers, and he doesn’t take taxi as well because he’s also not comfortable to have a conversation with someone while being in a small space ( inside the car ) and even being in a restricted position ( having the seatbelt on and doors locked ).
