yaknow i wish people didnt act like having areas of skin that are different shades was a feature exclusive to black peoples hands like, thats a really noticable area so when people get it wrong its pretty obvious but even in white people the palms of your hands are a noticably different color then the back

skin color is not even on literally anybody you are always going to have variations in shades and undertones in different sections of your body and when trying to draw skin more accurately that really shouldnt stop at just using a lighter shade on the hands of ur poc chrs

im white so i cant speak abt darker skin tones that much, but i think that people rlly need to stop acting like stuff like having variations in skin shade is a feature exclusive to them everybody has melinin and its gonna be distributed acrosss your skin differently always and you trying to be more accurate in how u draw skin shouldnt end at instagram info graphics abt how to draw black people better you should be looking at photos and at yourself (even if youre white, black people are not a different species and traits can & do apply to both groups) and trying to notice various features because thats always gonna give you a more accurate picture of things

ITS FUCKING INSANE ITS SO COOL #but also their singer was looking at my tattoos and was like HOW OLD ARE YOU??? and he looks like he’s around my moms age #so that made me feel really fucking good abt my tattoos .#they’re the band that had the heavy metal parking lot shirt #also!!!! talked to the guitarist from the first band outside (i want him BAD) and he got all excited when i said i loved his solos and their #set was fucking crazy and he gave me a couple stickers and then when me and my bf’s bf were talking to the singer from the second band #the guitarist from the first one comes over and starts talking to me again and says he likes my shirt and then he was like yeah man i saw #you out there and i was like damn this seems like the kinda guy that’ll love this set i fucking hope he does I think i’m in love with him.#listen to takacs (columbus based??) + razorblade (pittsburgh)#apparently ppl at thrash shows like my tattoos! i need 2 look into the local thrash scene more

i wanna live on my own again …. i’m so ready to put my books on a shelf and my clothes in a closet

#absolutely adore my parents but i’m just excited to Have My Own Place again. where i can unpack all my shit & decorate & stay for a year #and be back downtown tbh. the suburbs are very quiet & it’s peaceful but i feel so lonely out here #i’m gonna have to wait til october for prices to drop a bit but i’m determined to make it work #i got a dope job as a neurofeedback technician but it’s only 9-15h/week ($22cad/h) soooo that ain’t gonna cut it #little nervous cuz frankly i dunno if i can handle working more than ~30h/week rn & also. holy fuck it’s hard finding decent part-time jobs #although! last night my old manager asked if i’d consider coming back to the restaurant to host/do cash on a casual basis/for the holidays #which means i’m probably going to end up balancing 3 jobs again. which is kinda fucked up lol but it’s good money so i can’t turn it down #anyways i’m getting ahead of myself #i do feel like i’m genuinely looking forward to things for the first time in a while though #like grad school next year & tattoos this fall & hopefully making friends w new coworkers n shit. even if it’s unbelievably stressful 👍#pegasus speaks #hi btw i am alive. i just haven’t really been very interested in tumblr at all lately. which is kinda weird but probably for the best

#superhero oc #human oc #character design #hero oc #oc reference #reference sheet #ref sheet #original character #stanley does art #charlie grimms #HI I TALK A LOT BELOW THIS SO FEEL FREE TO SKIP IT ALL #tbh when i started working on this i just wanted a quick replacement for his old ref i wasnt expecting to go this far with it #but im glad i did bc again hopefully itll be accurate for longer #the old one had a mix of art from last april and october in it 💀 it was...not good #umm changes from that one to this one...well i transed his gender 👍#previously i was kinda waffling back n forth on it but like mannn why the hell not. im just gonna commit. gender is stored in the cowboy #updated the colors of his tattoos especially the snakes which used to be a much muddier looking black #this works a lot nicer with his overall color palette i think #earrings are now a pretty much permanent fixture bc ive been a lot more consistent with including them lately #included side views for his hair because everyone gets confused on it (I DONT BLAME THEM it is confusing)#im happy with it! it's a subtle difference that even i struggle w at times but his hair IS meant to be asymmetric #costume design didnt really change except i redid the tooling and noted that it is SUPER optional #i barely draw it if ever and it will never be the same thing twice tbh who give shit #ummm. last and most obvious change Yes He Got Bricked #part of it is subconscious to make him contrast more with alistaire who is a super twink #part of it is he was always meant to be kinda square shaped (evident in original design from 2018)#and part of it is I Learned Anatomy. this last one really did it tbh #but i like it i think he is fun to draw and having a specific body type for him really helps with consistency #also because it's funny that he objectively does not work as hard as he should for the amount of muscle that he has. like deadass #because of power fuckery and shit which i think is endlessly funny
