one of my very favorite things about fallout 76 that the other fallouts dont have (besides playing with my friends) is the film camera/photomode function. ive taken a few that i really like recently, including some of my newest oc posie who is not a mothman in hiding and on the run from the mothman cultists btw. eyes emoji
she likes to hang out with other cryptids and her best friend meevin, @mae-peachie's 76 oc who is not a sheepsquatch that can hulk out on command btw. they have this very funny dynamic where each of them will kinda slip up and allude to the fact that they're cryptids in hiding and the other will be like "hm? whats up?" and the first is like "HM? OH NOTHING" its very fun
anyway please enjoy my screenshots i love them very much

reasons fallout season 1 reminded me of the umbrella academy:
1. the character dynamics are similar in how they interact with each other, how much they tell each other, and how they generally act like siblings
2. the setting being after an apocalypse (obviously tua is trying to prevent an apocalypse and fallout takes place after one but still)
3. the music, a lot of the artists are the same, a lot of the songs are the same and just generally how they use music in each show
4. the fight scenes as far as editing, directing, choreography and just general vibes
5. if you’ve made it to the end of fallout season one: the guy who put his brain in a robot reminded me of AJ (the fish who drives the human suit)
6. the way they do gore
7. queer characters without a need to make it their whole personality (if you hadn’t noticed the character dane in fallout is nonbinary)
8. the social structure, hierarchy, rules, and attitude of the volts reminds me a lot of the commission
9. probably other things i can’t think of

Love it when NPCs make comments about vault dwellers being weak as if I didn’t beat two full Blood Eagle camps to death with a tambourine
Some random settler having a conversation with my character: are you sure you’re cut out for this? These guys are pretty tough, I don’t even want my people near them
My character, unhooking a tube from his Assault Gas Mask to attach a straw so he can drink, probably kicking his feet back and forth under the table: yeah sure I reckon I’ll be okay

Apparently there's a Fallout show and also apparently New Vegas isn't canon? Glad I didn't know about that, sounds like an idiotic cluster fuck.

In f01 the nuking is just... one option. You can talk the master down. You can fight him yourself. There are several options and the nuke is just a last resort. In f02 you don't have a choice, but that's in direct contrast to the master in f01. You can't talk the enclave down. You have no choice but to kill Horrigan and blow the enclave up because they're thematically the opposites of the master. In new Vegas, launching the nukes is seen as a civilization wiper. It's very obviously bad that you're indiscriminately destroying one or both of the world's best attempts to crawl out of the mud because you personally disagree with their opinions (even if the legion sucks, who gave you the right to execute everyone who lives under their banner?), and even then, trying to stop it is sacrificing ed-e.
76 and 3+4 just go "aren't nukes great? Isn't atom power swell? Wouldn't you fuck an atom bomb if it was a woman? You should put more nukes in things, mushroom clouds are marketable!" and let you blow up an entire town with everyone in it with a minor slap of the wrist of "daddy is very disappointed in you".
yeah, 1, 2, and NV have something to say with when there is the option to drop a bomb and when there is no choice but to have a bomb blow up, like with Frank Horrigan or Lonesome Road's setup. They carry a lot of intentionality with them and whether or not you think that works, I still respect the games immensely for actually injecting nuance into those decisions. They feel like they've got something to say with that. In contrast, I feel like the Bethesda-made ventures really hone in on the "wacky atom bomb" aesthetic wayyyy more than the other games did, like it's latching onto one aesthetic choice and letting it cannibalize everything else around. I can almost give a little credit to Fallout 3 for telling you that dropping a fucking bomb on a town for no reason is a bad idea that is evil, but that's also a choice for like. fuckin mustache twirling damsel-kidnapping no-good-doers, not a person. Unlike 1+2+NV, using any sort of story-important nuclear device feels like the game going "we need to meet our atom bomb quota" rather than the writers and game designers sitting down and asking what interesting questions and decisions can come from replicating the great disasters that brought about the setting. Man i love new vegas so much and god i fucking haaaaate fallout 3

Say hello to the new and independent Fallout Wiki!
Greetings to all of you lovely wastelanders, mutants and robots alike! We come bearing an important announcement, one which might even pique the curiosity of all you nosy prospectors out there.
We’d like to introduce you to the shiny and brand spanking new, Independent Fallout Wiki.
Tumblr media
Now, I know, you may be asking to yourself, “Wait, there’s already a Fallout Wiki out there! Why’s this one so dang special?”
Well, if you’d bear with me for a moment, I’ll tell you why!
Tumblr media
What is the Independent Fallout Wiki?
Well, the Independent Fallout Wiki is just about as straightforward as it sounds! We all used to be members of another wiki dedicated to Fallout, which is hosted by a company that shall remain nameless. Now, if there’s one thing you should know about this company, it’s that they have very little regard for the community, introducing changes that no one likes, hosting tons of ads and even buying out wiki editors to work for them. We find this (among other things) to be antithetical to our beliefs. We feel that wikis should be in the hands of the community, not a company that refuses to listen to us!
This reached a breaking point earlier this year, along with some events out of our control, which led to the bright idea of forking into independence and starting a new wiki! A wiki that’s truly in the hands of the community. A wiki that is self-hosted and safe from harmful, corporate interests. We don’t have shareholders to please and we don’t answer to anyone. We don’t have ads and we don’t need them, hopefully ever. Content is created by fans, for fans
We are simply wanting to provide the most reliable and accurate source of all things Fallout. We’ve even broke bread with some of the other fantastic independent wikis out there, such as Doom Wiki and Combine Overwiki whom we recommend you check out too!
What kinds of new features are we offering?
We’re glad you asked! As well as offering a trove of accurate, well sourced content about the Fallout franchise (with strict guidelines to ensure the best possible content quality, as all wikis should), we’re offering a new Community space. This will be a place for the community to host all kinds of fan works, such as fanfiction, fan art, creations, roleplaying and tabletop games, pen and paper games, Fallout 76 player CAMPs and, much, much more.
As mentioned before, we have affiliated with many other independent wiki projects, including the Doom Wiki, Combine OverWiki, JoJo’s Bizarre Encyclopedia, StrategyWiki, Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, and even Halopedia! We’re also proud members of the Gaming Wiki Network, and soon, we’ll even be affiliated with NIWA, the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance. These affiliations will offer mutual aid and support that will help every wiki in the short-term and long-term. We are looking forward to working with them, for we all share the same goals!
How can we help and how can we be apart of the community?
We welcome anyone who wishes to join our community. It doesn’t matter if you’re an editor or reader. We are all fans of Fallout and we encourage you to join our community! If you are a non-editor and are only looking for information about something from the Fallout franchise, click this here link! https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout_Wiki/
If you are interested in becoming an editor and want to fight the good fight to help rewrite content and smashing misinformation and head-canon, click this other here link! https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Special:UserLogin
While you’re there, check out our LGBTQ representation page. It was written by the lovely robot, C0NN1E here on Tumblr!:
https://fallout.wiki/wiki/LGBTQ_representation_in_Fallout
We welcome all members of the LGBTQ+, MOGAI, GSRM, Plural and Otherkin communities with open arms!
Last, but not least, if you’d like to be apart of our wider social community, you can follow us here on Tumblr, on Twitter, check out our Instagram or join our Discord, right here below, right now! We even got a fresh, custom invite link!
https://discord.gg/falloutwiki
https://twitter.com/thefalloutwiki
https://www.instagram.com/thefalloutwiki/
Well, that about wraps up this little segment of ours. We hope you enjoy this project as much as we do. We put a lot of time, effort and care into it and we want to give back to the people that we love the most, the community. Have safe travels out there, and we hope to see you around!
END OF BROADCAST
