Helloooo everyone!!! Since I’m back from my break I wanted to reconnect with my mutuals since it’s been over a month

I’m doing another challenge with 20 mutuals 😀 that’s a lot damn (I’m sorry if some other mutuals weren’t added- I can only do 20 as its my limit ;-;)

Well it clearly has less space for each character so I’ll only be drawing till shoulders or chest max if possible- I’m also deciding to draw chibi due to the space but I might change my mind and go with my original art style since I’ve never drawn chibi before 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hot take incoming but Makoto is one of the characters where everybody focuses on only one of his crimes, which is arguably actually the most justified out of all his actions, while ignoring pretty much. Everything else.

Like sorry but I don't think turning people into food was That Bad considering homunculi need human meat in order to live, they literally die if they don't eat it - it's either A. no humans get killed, and in turn all of Kanai Ward dies, or B. humans die and get turned into meatbuns, and Kanai Ward gets to exist. You could argue that the defective homunculi weren't really supposed to exist anyway but like, they do now so what. Makoto is also a homunculus, of course he probably sympathizes more with the other homunculi instead of the humans (that put them there in the first place) of course he's gonna choose KW over approx. a million humans.

If that was me in that situation I'll do the same thing fuck them bun filling lmao sorry I'm not saying it would be the best choice but it's one literally most people would choose anyway because like. What can you do, it sucks, moving on.

Substitutes for human flesh are possible to create (thank you ramen guy) but it'd require him to seek help from others which would require him to tell them the truth which fuck no. Like in that regard I believe he should be allowed to kill whoever he wants actually!

What actually makes me go 🤨 about him is everything else he's doing. Or not doing - aside from providing food and rain clouds, aka only a portion the bare necessities, he's doing absolutely nothing for Kanai Ward, especially Dohya District. He lives in the most expensive looking penthouse I ever laid my eyes upon, there is so much he could do with all of his billions, like, I don't know, at least unflood the Dohya District do you remember the Dohya District it appeared once in chapter 3 I believe.

Also your city has a poverty crisis the population's like 10% rich bitch working for ✨Amaterasu✨ 90% i live in a sewer i have like 8 shien. Please stop saying you love KW like every othet sentence and actually do something I'm begging you I'm poking you with a stick right now.

Say what you want about Yomi but he was so real for telling Makoto he's not doing shit, only ever instance in rc where the guy is like.... somewhat correct. I was about to say something else but I stopped myself because I have a healthy amount of Fear.

Apparently Makoto's love for all homunculi doesn't extend to Kurumi though, a teenage girl, after he just dumps her along with Yuma in the restricted area for no reason whatsoever, endangering her severely. He also risked her finding out she was eating human flesh for three years straight, the only reason she didn't go into the freezer was because Yuma was there to tell her there was nothing there. There was no reason for Makoto to drag her along to be the audience to his epic showdown with his DNA donor.

I'm not mad at him for that though, that was so fucking hilarious, the fuck?? What is wrong with him <3333

Since I know somebody is going to say that Yomi existing severely limits what Makoto can actually do, which is fair to some extent, but like... Was Yomi holding a gun to his head and telling him he's gonna execute the hostages if he tries to unflood Dohya? Was he? Yomi controls the peacekeepers, he doesn't control where Amaterasu money gets donated. Yomi (and by extension, the peacekeepers - Yomi is, as I see it, the personification of everything wrong with the Amaterasu Corporation cops peacekeepers anyway) can be blamed for a large portion of everything wrong with Kanai Ward, but not the entirety of it; and Makoto can't be, either. Blaming everything on Yomi is not only just wrong, but also the most boring answer possible.

Speaking of -- Makoto didn't even care about all the abuse of power Yomi was commiting the entire time. According to him, "If all Yomi did was throw his weight around, that would have been fine, but [forgot the exact phrasing, but he says him trying to leak homunculus information was where he had to step in]", so you can't even give him points for being a Yomi hater! Sad. Anyway here's how makoyomi worsties can still win

Do I dislike Makoto? No not really. I don't really care about him as much as other people tend to, but he's fun when you let him be his silly (ominous) self. The atrocities are a part of him and I decided they're funny. Actually wait I changed my mind I love him now.

Initially I wanted to draw Kaede as a Death Note Shinigami but changed to Snow White due to the apple symbolism 👀

Kaede is Snow White who is the "fairest of them all", giving Tsumugi (Misa) justice/fairness, thus Tsumugi is in love and will kill for Kaede (Kaede is Tsumugi's Light (Misa's Light) kills Rantaro in Death Note Plot Twist: Tsumugi is the one who set up the posioned apple (shot put ball) to make Kaede fall to sin and commit the crime (In folktales and mythologies, apple symbolize man's fall to sin, temptation) to start the killing game The Poisoned Apple is a magic blood-red apple which will send its victim into Sleeping Death when bitten. Thus Kaede is asleep ^Hope that's not too mind blowing to read 😂

Throughout his entire existence, Saiki Kusuo was the one (besides Nendo) who had never been invested in romance or anything remotely similar. You looked adorable, to say the least. Your dark blue hair was braided into twin tails, and the oversized sweater (which was Kusuke’s), coat and sweatpants swallowed your already tiny body up. However, the earmuffs and beanie flattened your bangs, covering half your face, not allowing for Kusuo to get a good look. He could’ve used his x-ray vision, but he didn’t particularly care for you or his brother enough to bother.

    “Is this your girlfriend, Kusuke?/Who’s this cute little thing?” The Saiki parents' questions bombarded the two intruders.

Kusuke bent and wrapped an arm around your shoulder. “This is my lovely friend (y/n)-chan! I met her a week ago at the airport and we’ve been hanging out! Her family’s busy so I invited her to our dinner! You all don’t mind, do you?”

As chaos ensued questioning why Kusuke hadn’t informed them that he had arrived a week ago and crying at the story, Kusuo looked over to you. Your thoughts were quiet- he really had to focus on them. They were various formats of ‘ I feel so bad they weren’t aware ahead of time! ’ and ‘Kusuke-kun was so kind to invite me!’

Kusuo wished he could read Kusuke’s thoughts. How were you already on a first name basis after a week? Kusuke was never one for girls- so he must be planning something. Perhaps under the kind, cute girl you were one of Kusuke’s robot experiments built for destroying the world.

After the introductions (in which Kusuo’s was: ‘I’m Saiki Kusuo. Please don’t talk to me.’) they found themselves having dinner while (y/n) answered questions from the parents.

    “What do your parents do to be busy on a special night?” (Kurimi)

    “You and Kusuke look adorable together!” (Kuniharu)

    “What college do you go to?”

    “Please date Ku-kun! I want grandbabies!”

One thing Kusuo noted about you, was that your voice never betrayed your thoughts.

    “They are fashion designers!” ( ‘my parents are so talented!’) “And, I’m actually still in high school… ” ( ‘I believe in second year? )

Kusuo stiffened. What did that mean?

    “Oh my! You’re the same age as Kuu-chan,” Kurumi’s eyes sparkled.

    ‘ Don’t bring me into this.’

    “What school do you go to?” Kuniharu immediately asked. Was it ignore Kusuo o’clock already?

    “She’s homeschooled!” Kusuke butted in, ruffling your beanie-covered head.

Kusuo’s eyebrow quirked up and he decided to tune into your head to see what was up. ‘ Woah, Kuusuke-kun is so cool !’ was the only thing running through your dumb head. What a disappointment.

    “Are you two joining us to the shrine?” Kurimi asked. ‘ Please say yes! Please say yes!’

Kusuke shook his head. “I’m taking (y/n) back home, it’s a bit far so we should take off.”

This sent both Kurimi and Kuniharu squealing in adorement, as everyone began getting up for goodbyes.

    “Goodbye, baby brother. Take care,” Kusuke smirked at him. What for? How would Kusuo know.

    ‘Die,’ Kusuo grumbled. He watched Kusuke skip to their parents, and jumped when he sensed you in front of him. Wow, you were small. He had to look down in order to see what was visible on your face.

You bowed politely with a c̶u̶t̶e̶ smile. “Thank you for having me! I’m very sorry about intruding on your family dinner. It was very nice to meet you, Saiki-san.”

Kusuo only nodded, and you gave a small wave as you moved on to thank his parents. As the pair closed the door behind them, the three Saikis began dressing for the shrine.

He was certainly going to wish for the demise of his older brother Kusuke. (and the robot machine, (y/n).)

And by one day, I mean "On sale now!"

Of course she is. She's the obligatory love interest for a romance arc that didn't even manage to dip its toe in the water before the end credits rolled. She's going to need several more games of development before anything gets started for her.

Poor girl didn't even manage to get a climactic last-minute kiss, either right before Yuma went off into the final confrontation or just before the end-credits rolled. The game was having too much fun shipping Yuma with Fubuki (gross) and Shinigami (SO GROSS) instead. Kodaka owes her at least one date to a coffee shop or something.

Go get him, girl. Maybe next time, you'll be allowed to have a relationship with him that is actually romantic in some way.

That must have been such an awkward conversation. Can you imagine having to talk to your crush's clone to try and get permission to go look for his human counterpart?

I remind everyone that Kurumi was able to navigate a Peacekeeper-infested Dohya District when even Yuma needed timey-wimey powers to pull that off. I have the utmost faith in her abilities.

...all due respect to everyone here but I cannot in good conscience vote for any of them. Halara's too capitalist, Fubuki lacks worldly experience, Vivia's unmotivated, and Desuhiko has a lot of personal growth he needs to do before he'll be ready for any kind of authority.

I hope there are more well-adjusted Master Detectives in the organization who will do a better job of it. But if you twisted my arm... Fubuki, with Desuhiko as running mate.

Halara is far too valuable in the field and would most certainly convert the WDO into a for-profit corporation immediately after assuming control, so that's a hard pass. Vivia, absolutely not. Why would you do that to the poor guy? He just wants to rest.

Fubuki lacks a lot of wordly knowledge but she has a boundless curiosity and love for the act of discovery itself. I have faith in her judgment. I do not have faith in her ability to fully understand context, which is why Desuhiko would make a good partner for her.

Desuhiko's head is too far up his own ass to make sound judgment decisions with authority. He has a lot that he needs to figure out about himself and the way he engages with the world. But he's attentive and follows along with information well.

The two of them could make for an effective tag-team, with Desuhiko laying out the context and Fubuki calling the shots. That could work.

But if there's someone, anyone better, that would be... better.

T_T This is the true reason that Yuma went into hiding.

I want to be sure because you might think that this means "Kurumi is going to find Yuma at the start of the next game and hand him back the book, so he can connect with Shinigami again."

But that is not what this promise means. This promise means, "Our next adventure will star Kurumi as she makes a pact with Shinigami and they go on adventures while trying to find Yuma together."

I'm gonna be mad if Kurumi isn't the protag for Master Detective Archives 2.

Again. This is promising a Kurumi-centric adventure. Just so we're clear. I expect you to deliver on that.

The closeup here implies she's going to be important for the next game. Fuck, we're not getting a Kurumi-centric adventure, are we? She's going to show up in the prologue and be like, "Here you go, Yuma. I brought your book!" and then resume the same role she had in the first game.

Fine, but at the very least, I demand a badass scene where she exposes herself unfiltered to the sun and lets herself turn temporarily feral on purpose to fuck up the bad guy.
