A couple of hotd season 1 episode 7 thoughts:

Corlys you fool, Rhaenys be there spitting facts and yet you care about your pride more aghhh (I mean, I get his reasons, but also I feel like Rhaenys should've pushed him harder -- and apparently its just the beginning of dismissing Laena's daughters in the show?? Ugh, hate that, I'd love to see More of them)

I have to say, Rhaenyra x Daemon? Not feeling it, haven’t been feeling it from the start and Im still very much not feeling it. Might be because I just really dislike that prick Daemon (fuck him so very much, especially for Laena, oh my god, she deserved so much better) but also, I do rarely like the most popular ships so... oh well 🤷‍♀️

Granny Vhagar is Awesome, she's so damn badass, I love her 😍 Every scene with her is just *chef's kiss*

I feel like... there should’ve been more urgency about Rhaenyra's wound in the moment? There was A Lot of blood there, how is no one calling for measters or putting something on her wound to stem the blood flow? I get the drama, but that could'e Added to it, instead of being just stupid and pulling you out of the scene ;/

Aemond is... interesting. Which is more than I can say about a lot of other characters and I do know he turns prettyyy evil but... oh well, I do like interesting villains ^^

Ngl, kinda hate them (mostly Rhaenyra tho, Deamon just seems there and he's a fucker already) for what they did to Laenor, or rather, to Rhaenys and Corlys, like... the fuck?? they lost both of their children in the span of like two days? poor Rhaenys, she was so devastated ;_; I mean, I get what they tried to do, changing his death in the book to a somewhat more of a "happy" ending for him but... I dunno, I don’t feel that it's much better to be honest ;/ And it happens just as he was ready to commit fully to Rhaenyra and their sons too, and as he just lost his sister, so now he'd have to leave his Whole family behind just... I dunno, cause he feels guilty? It's... not very compelling, at least for me. His death would’ve been tragic, for sure, but it would’ve been a very In-Universe thing, not all that surprising in the world they live in + wouldn’t add another ick-factor to Rhaenyra's and Daemon's wedding ;/ I dunno, mixed feelings on this one, but yeah, doesn’t endear the ship or the characters more to me.

Welp, that's what Ive gathered so far from this ep, we'll see what more the season has to offer!

3: Best game you’ve ever played?

Ib, Ib is the best and only game ever.

Jk, although I do love it a lot and is near there but because of sentimentality. It's a tough choice tbh, and there are a few that I would like to mention but since I haven't finished/wholly remember them I don't feel like I can really express the why.

Some of my choices could be: Oneshot, Thomas Was Alone, Hatoful Boyfr-*gets shot*

I remember games like Ghost Trick and TWEWY being fantastic but I cannot remember much about them and I'm still due to replaying both.

Dont @ at me but Pokemon Explorers of Sky was pretty good too.

5: A popular series/game you just can’t get into no matter how much you try?

Multiplayer games, specially if they have FPS stuff. Like for example games like overwatch do seem cool and fun but i just cannot get into gameplays that heavily relay on teamwork and my aim is shit. It stresses me out so much that i just cannot have fun.

If I had to choose one tho, maybe Minecraft (nobody kill me plz)? It does seem fun, and if I'm with friends or on very rare occasions I do like it even if for a short time, but its just not something I would voluntarily play or that I enjoy.

7: A game you’ll never forget?

aghhh so many options, and some I'm surely forgetting (its not a contradiction shush) bear with my long ass answer since I cant choose just one haha

I would say OFF. The atmosphere that game has, the characters, the worldbuilding, each step I took in that game and every little thing I found or read felt foreboding, and yet I would keep going out of curiosity. Which, ended in me reaching the endings and wanting to cry so much I just felt empty inside for a good while lol, whenever I think about it again I feel the same bittersweet feeling. It´s a great game that I wholly recommend, 100/100 would accept the sacred mission of helping purify the world and then suffer about it again

Another one is End Roll because of how much I love the characters, story, music and how the game in general looks. I also can't forget it because of how much it emotionally destroyed me lmao like I legit get sad just by thinking about it. Very cathartic but also soul-crushing game.

11: Hardest game you’ve played?

Every game I play is hard for me I just suck that much. I cant remember one in particular rn so I'm gonna go with the latest I have been having trouble with which is Irisu Syndrome. So far I have only been able to get the bad ending because I can't score high enough (20,000) for another one, and yet I know the other endings have even higher scores/level requirements than that. HOW? HOW AM I GONNA ACHIEVE ALL THAT?! Todo es bronca y dolor.

ahhh taylor swifts new album is so??? good??? like idk anyone irl fsr that loves tswift (they all had phases i had a lifestyle smh) so im just gonna gush here; like its literally the perfect soundtrack for quarantine/just being alone  (and as someone on utube comment section said, this whole album has big safe and sound vibes) and it has a big ‘storytelling’ aspect that tswift hasnt rly done recently (ish) so ahhhh its just amazing!!!

personally i think that the first couple of tracks arent her best work but are still verified bops but after like the fourth or fifth track it really set in!!! i just love the album and personally, so far, my fav song’s the last great american dynasty and my least fav’s cardigan just bc i feel like its just a remake of her old songs?? 

(like she seems to do the adjective noun, adjective noun, references to royalty, callback to earlier lyric -isque format or smth for her songs and the song in general just doesnt feel ‘like its own thing’ but i love love LOVE the whole album in general and the song is still good, just doesnt liveup to the rest of the standards lol)

(knowing how i reacted to reputation + lover tho, ill probs change this list like ten billion times, at one point hate all of the songs, and then realize that i adore all of them so...)

But anyway, like ep 9 of Goodbye My Princess, the two main characters kissed.

And I just can’t believe how much they executed it the way I prefer. At first it’s like, a touch odd that most of the kiss shot is from an angle below their heads. But what it does is it makes them feel more like equals the whole time - Chengyin moves to kiss, then pulls back and waits to see Xiaofengs reaction and what she wants. Then when he moves to kiss her again properly instead of a peck, they both put their arms on each other’s sides and hold one another and not in some clingy way or “oh I’m a swooning damsel” way but in a way like they both very much want to hold and be with each other. And the camera angle makes their hands both visible, and then the scene of the world behind them and stars above sweeps around them. And it’s like their whole world right now is each other, it’s like the weight of the whole world is an effect that’s going to touch Both of them and What they have together. It’s not just one persons burden to bear the world later, and it’s not just one persons choice to kiss. (Which... again, I came off of Eternal Love as my last drama... and the writing did Ye Hua dirty and made some of his kisses quite dubcon especially the first you know ‘romance’ establishing ones that the audience is supposed to ‘want and root for’ - but instead they come off as Yikes). In comparison like.. it’s just refreshing to get back to the Norm or what should be the norm, two characters pursuing each other mutually and respecting each other’s boundaries.

It’s so funny cause it’s at odds with the Main Reason they ARE bad as a couple - because Danshi warriors killed Chengyin’s brother, and Xiaofeng is related to Danshi, Chengyin chose to lie to pursue revenge. And although During the Moments, what he does seems decent enough, the long term consequence will be hurting Xiaofeng emotionally because he gave her these tender moments and pursued her under a false identity and is a danger to her family. And he knows that, so in his own way he’s worse than Gu Jian, who also knew his actions will hurt Xiaofeng as an indirect consequence, and so he chose not to add emotional closeness being destroyed when the lies about identity are revealed as yet Another pain she’d be caused. Wow it’s So Funny aghhh. Cause otherwise, you know, ASIDE from the precise premise from which all their motivations stem - both Chengyin and Xiaofeng do so clearly like each other and treat each other well In The Moment.

There’s also later, when Chengyin has the bite from the wolf and Xiaofeng is by his side in pain and promises she won’t leave him to bear it alone, even though he tries to get her to leave. I really REALLY love how reciprocally Xiaofeng often saves and cares for him, does things for him, and how their entire relationship from the start as far as How they treated each other has been mutual and equally giving. Something I hate is when one love interest is catered to like some amazing thing hard to win, or some love interest must be always saved but never gets the chance to do the same in kind. It’s just like obviously a weak spot in a lot of stories in general, unfortunately, and also has been in some of the shows I saw lately (tho I’ve... got a list, if u want some shows that DONT fall into this constantly). So it’s really wonderful that the writing has Not been letting me down.

I don’t speak Latin fluently but I know some odd words here and there! But the reason as to why I have included Latin names in IWSY is because of the lore I chose to make as the background of my story. I didn’t just want to use English because I believe that the story would have lost it’s depth and feel! :D
