What are you guys' headcanons for what the foxes' majors would be? (as in alternative majors that you think they would take, not their canon ones)

rewatching the 2011 ‘the thing’ and honestly if I were an emf/film major there’d be a dissertation in the comparison between it and other cg-heavy horror movies being so bloodless compared to practical effects, like the 1982 movie is so fucking goopy. Soggy. That movie drips, it oozes like a slug. It feels so much more visceral than the 2011 one, regardless of considerations of which aged better or looks more real or w/e. I know the 2011 one was pressured into the cg by the studio, but I cannot believe they were unable to stick some blood pumps up the actors’ shirts.
smth smth cg stuff is more divorced from the human animal, mirrors society’s increasing unwillingness to accept the animality of the human body, horror shaking hands w ‘everyone is beautiful and no one is horny’, idk

Every earth science major I’ve met is the coolest person ever, by way of being the type of person to choose a difficult major despite it not assuring financial success, out of a genuine desire to do good for the world

I'm trying to pick a major that I would be the most interested in just because it would make my life so much easier and right now I have like three ideas and they all have a million problems
#like bioengineering. that sounds great right#id make good money with even just a bachelors degree#but i dont want to be stuck with that my whole life. that doesnt sound fun to me and engineering is supposed to be a miserable major#AND MINOR#and its a relatively new field so not a lot of places near me have it. and the places that DO have it are crazy expensive#i want to get a degree in linguistics because thats something that sounds fun to me. i would enjoy that#im good with english and language#but what can i really do with a linguistics degree? and im not good at learning other languages so i couldnt be an interpreter as much as i#would enjoy it#i kind of want to go for theatre tech stuff but. idk there arent really any buts but is that really realistic for me? i stopped doing tech#in freshman year because people were kind of mean. im a quitter and theyre not going to like that and i havent done anything related#in so long so really what are the chances i get accepted for that#how much do techs make anyways? i guess it doesnt have to be THEATRE tech i could do tech for anything#i know people who tech for bands make pretty good money and they have fun#i lied theres four#i could do geology something but thats broad and also the best school for it in the state is UF.#im NOT going to UF. i would rather die. its a personal grudge. also they suck and barely accept anybody even though the school SUCKS AND IT#SO EXPENSIVE FOR NO REASON#i wanted to do marine bio two years ago but theres soooo many problems with that. including ticks#I HATE TICKS#“but joel. isnt it MARINE science? there arent ticks in the ocean” YOURE WRONG. TICKS ARE EVERYWHERE. also marine bio has a lot to do with#marshes and there ARE ticks in marshes. and maritime hammocks where id be spending a lot of time. you would not believe the amount of ticks#ive gotten from my marine bio and environmental management classes. its so many. so many ticks

Okay bc I am now positively excited to draw some baseball au, let me get some things straight:
-Wukong LOVES being there, he’s the designated pitcher. Isn’t great at batting, isn’t the worst either. Claims to be a good sport, but very much is not. Mans HATES loosing, and is openly VERY competitive, almost becomes not enjoyable to play a game w him sometimes like yikes. Chews gum very loudly to annoy Macaque (it works)
-Macaque claims he hates being there, and is constantly seen dramatically rolling his eyes/ not paying attention when in the field. AMAZING batter, has never stuck out. Horrible pitcher, can’t catch the ball for shit. Get him behind the bat/ running base to base and mans has never been more focused before in his life. Secretly super competitive, which can be seen with smirks, or dramatic huff-sighs
-Mei: please god don’t let her pitch, she throws the ball at you because she thinks it’s funny. Loves being there, picks on Redson the entire time. AMAZING in the feild, she will catch that fuckin ball even if it kills her
-MK just enjoys being there, doesn’t care if he winds or looses. He’s mediocre at baseball and is okay with that. Zones out in the feild, drags feet thru the dirt to draw pictures. Love the kid but he never knows what’s going on
-Redson was dragged into playing, very competitive but also very bad at playing. Is secretly having the time of his life. Is determined to win every game and “no noodle brain it isn’t just a game”. HATES when Mei messes with them when he’s trying to focus. MK finds it halarious

Someone has to ask Steven Moffat if he chose 4 and a half billion years for heaven sent by randomly picking a big ass number or by googling the earth's age bc the more I think about the possibility of the latter being the case the more I want to scream into the void.

remembering the time my english & composition professor asked us to write about one of our favorite movies. it was mostly just a warm up and to get to know us so it wasn’t supposed to be formal.
I LOVE writing and explaining things so i wrote a three page essay on why ALIEN is my favorite movie and why it was a huge creative leap of faith. It was formatted as an formal essay because that’s just how i write things (see: autism) and when i got it graded she told me that while she really enjoyed learning about the movie, she asked for a rant not an essay.
ma’am i’m sorry but my rants ARE essays. and also how else was i supposed to explain why it’s my favorite movie without citing sources or formatting it in a way that cleanly explains it all???
still confused about it.

im serious if you're in highschool and into the sciences but aren't really sure what you want to do take a look at maybe doing an earth or environmental sciences degree. lots of people get the vague idea they like chem and maybe some bio but they don't know what to do so think oh well maybe ill work in healthcare because they don't really know the geosciences exist. we're very broad, very interdisciplinary, and it's one of the few science degrees you can get a job with without having a masters
