#this question is very hard for me to answer so obviously I have to torment everyone else with it #cause like. like I can really see the potential in either answer. both are feasible #I will say. most realistically. to me. edwin first charles harder #because I think…..I think the reasoning behind the other way around usually tends to be about how edwin absolutely was slower to bond and #open up in general whereas charles hit the ground fucking running #but i don’t think that particularly applies to their romantic relationship #if you mean ‘fell for’ in a general sense rather than a romantic one then yes 100%#but that’s not what im talking about here #I have a few different reasons but generally I think edwin fell first because like… the way he attached himself to charles and accepted him #as his person and etc is so unlike him to do with literally anyone- especially at the point where they first met/the first years they knew #each other. charles just seems to have hit him as something very very special and irreplaceable quite quickly for him to open up the way he #did and change and flourish into a fully realized person because of how safe and worthy charles made him feel #he took to charles with an unusual amount of ease and trust and I think that says something about how charles struck his heart Early #whereas with charles… yes on one hand he did stay on the mortal plane largely because of edwin and absolutely would’ve been impacted by the #tender act of mercy that was edwin reading to him as he died so he wouldn’t be scared. that’s absolutely what got him to trust edwin and to #want to be with him and protect him and so on #but charles would still do that and be like that under intense platonic circumstances I think #but most importantly I just think charles fell harder. when he fell is less important to me here- more important is that by GOD that boy is #down so fucking bad and outright SAYS IT in so many ways that he doesn’t realize– the sheer amount he restates how he’s content so long as #he’s with edwin. how he doesn’t want to be anywhere where edwin can’t follow. would and Did go to hell and back for him. believes him #to be the kindest and most incredible person he’s ever met. prioritizes him above anything and everything. etc etc etc #that’s not to say edwin doesn’t feel a similar amount of devotion– but charles just. really loves him with his whole person. loves him as a #fact of his existence and a piece of his very soul #idk man. it just feels like he is so incredibly smitten and he doesn’t even know it.#like I said though I can see both options and give reasons for both options so this question EATS at me I GENUINELY don’t have a super #strong feeling either is absolutely correct. it’s so difficult to answer they’re both so smitten and have such a history and GRAHHHH #payneland #dead boy detectives #rambling #polls

Okay my crack theory for Lucy’s god situation:

What if instead of dying Lucy’s god became an archfey and fucked off, forsaking all of their followers. I could see that as justifiable for a minor god—maybe you don’t want your personality and existence to be dependent on a group of people small enough for a really big hurricane to wipe them out. Maybe you want to try your hand at self actualization, which you can’t really do as a god. Whatever.

But that would still mean Lucy’s grades would be screwed for the year, and the whole group would be switched to pass/fail.

Whatever god they’re trying to bring back seems like they want to stay a god, but would also only have a single living cleric so their nature would be heavily influenced by who that cleric is, and could still be controlled. Bringing back an established dead god with living followers probably reduces the risk of the god immediately dying or completely sucking ass/not being powerful like what happened with YES!(?), and we know the Ratgrinders LOVE minimizing risk. And choosing a dead god that represents something Lucy is actually passionate about preaching and proselytizing would make her work as a cleric much easier for her emotionally than, say, switching to Helio and just going through the motions, and bringing back a god would probably look good on college resumes.

Idk, that’s just an alternative theory to Lucy’s god dying based on what’s been established this season.

#fantasy high #the ratgrinders #ratgrinders #fantasy high junior year #fhjy #fhjy spoilers #d20 fantasy high #dimension 20 #this is an idea I came up with while basically writing fanfiction in my head about a possible route Ivy’s story could go #that would make the ragtringers not evil / kind of justified #basically my ‘what if’ plot line is that Ivy’s god forsakes her during the sophomore spring project and that leads to her loosing her power #and the ratgrinders having to choose a pacifistic quest to go on because they no longer have a healer but can’t tell anybody #hence why they didn’t kill anything during their sophomore quest but seemingly still passed with a letter grade #(we know Ivy’s death was only reported after grading was completed—which means they wouldn’t have been switched to pass/fail)#Now Ivy is thinking about what grade to switch to before the end of the year so she doesn’t fail #all while covering up her god forsook her to the school until she has her replacement figured out #but WHOOPS something happens and she dies anyway…but with no afterlife she’s stuck as a ghost. The ratgrinders will all fail if they report #her dead right then-and Ivy doesn’t want that for her friends-so instead the ratgrinders disguise self as her and fake her cleric powers #with their own in class just enough to keep her from failing the year…then after grading closes they report her as dead to Augfort and ask #for his help in reviving her like he did the bad kids. But he tells them that he brought the bad kids back by taking their place in #the afterlife; if Ivy’s stuck as a ghost and not in an afterlife than there’s nothing he can do right now but he’ll look into it oh wait #his DAUGHTER is back and they need to bond nevermind here are some resources during this endless night that you can read up on to try to #find a way to bring your dead friend back on your own have FUN high schoolers I believe in you but it’s Ayda time!#so the ratgrinders did a bunch of research on their own and they found that a god could bring her back to life and the only one willing to #do that would probably be a preestablished dead god they brought back to life (similar to Kristen with Cassandra). This red god is just #the safest bet they found in the books to complete their plan #I won’t call all THAT a theory because it’s based on nothing but that’s my idea for a direction her backstory could go #also pretend whenever I wrote ‘ivy’ in this little end section I actually wrote Lucy #I canNOT believe I made that mistake #Cassandra save me

i just rewatched the rapture ohhhhh my god. such a good episode the jimmy stuff is actually fucking horrifying somehow even worse remembering claire grows up to be a hunter. then dean and bobby at the end locking sam in the panic room oh i hope they suffer. forever. he shouldve never spoken to their asses again

#im watching with my mom and she is having none of it. she was like BUT SAM SAVED THE DAY??? when i was a kid the church songs i gravitated twoards were definitely always the ones like "how great thou art" and "on eagle's wings" - basically anything that mentioned the natural world or a cool animal. songs of faith and tradition did nothing for me, amazing grace was a nothing song, the bread of life was a NOTHING song. but a voice crying out in the wilderness? oh?? say more

and then they dont say more. and you have to figure out whether you believe regardless. and that's what religion is

#this sounds like pessimism but i swear it's not it's just a religious breakthrough i had driving to work yesterday #it's soo much easier to believe in religion when you know it's fake. that doesnt make sense #what i mean is: with christianity. the expectation is that it will Return somehow . he died but he'll be back #if he'd died and stayed dead and there was never any expectation of his return. he'd be easier for me to believe in #does that make sense #because he's not this nebulous future state. he's gone and we'll never know anything else. but the things which are sacred to the god #those still remain #the crows outside. the mice i trap. the roadsides i clear of litter in spring. the crick. the eagles again. the way they've rebounded #that's real and i believe in it and it is sacred . and i can do something tangible about that and that's worship #towards a unified theory of my own spiritual believes - finally - because i remembered what i was on the verge of believing when i was 13

This is what it feels like being a hex fan sometimes, like its not even a twitter issue (and in a sense its not necessarily an issue, sometimes ppl just wanna have fun n not spout theories n discussion 24/7! I get that!) but i feel like a lot of people r quick to write off aspects of the game and characters and insist that, despite it being a mullinsverse title, it's not that deep/things are surface level

#This goes for a lot of characters. you can already guess one of them since i defend his honor constantly here #but like. I've seen a lot of people brush off Irving as just 'the big bad' and insist theres nothing deeper to his character #than just being an abusive villain #he very much IS an abusive villain. Irving is not Irving if he isn't a metaphor for abuse in the video game industry #but that doesnt mean you can't. lets say. interpret his relationship with Lionel as something more than just 'ai assistant n his dev'#that doesnt mean you cant read inbetween the lines n point out *he cares about Lionel. and that a good chunk of his motivations r bc of him #Irving is rightfully hated but often times I get. nervous. that one of these days someone is gonna accuse me of being a sympathizer #or making him act 'ooc' or giving him grace when he doesnt deserve it #bc god forbid someone in a game where every character has layers. has layers #regardless: no discussion about Irving really leaves raw hatred or 'omg hes hot' anyways #Bryce is also a good example cause when he's not being a horrible yaoi fodder victim #Everyone just says 'Oh hes so nice! He's so kind! I feel bad for him!' and moves on #No one wants to pick apart that he's not a pure angelic soul who gets pushed around. that hes nuanced #and that there is very much commentary that ties to his black identity and the forced role of 'fighter'#To many Bryce's story is simple; got put in CAX and then he got out n granny died and it was REALLY bad #and then they dont care to analyze him further than that. i understand that the nature of the game leaves some characters underdeveloped #But there is still very much a lot to pick apart with every character in the game; sadly a lot of people don't care to do anything w/ it #feels like that en mass the fandom has this air of anti-discussion despite the source material. idk man idk #Im goin to bed early lol ive been tired ever since i got back from school #but yeah. my opinions

I don't know if you're going to answer this but, Vigilante Tiso, is this an AU of yours? If so, I'm curious about the context of this concept!

Yep! Vigilante Tiso is one of my older and blog popular AU’s for Hollow Knight (based on poll results)

Originally, it started as a joke about Tiso being in Hallownest early just to take the piss out of PK and Lurien, but slowly developed into a more complicated story about Tiso being Xero and Markoth’s son (Xero biologically and Markoth via marrying into the family) as Tiso moved to Hallownest much earlier - eventually putting his distaste for the royalty into become the cities Vigilante that continued through the Infection Outbreak and in-game events. Instead of an arrogant ant that dies in the Colosseum, he’s a hot headed ant that’s been trying to protect survivors of a dying kingdom whilst wanting a solution and is willing to die for it.

A lot of it focuses more on the character relationships as they change and are affected by the story events - particularly with a small family being torn apart as simple mortals in a gods war.

i was genuinely planning to watch more of ratastrophe tonight but i started it, got to "[you whispered to unidingo: please don't die out there yet] I think their hunt is more successful if i'm not there" and my phone case literally fell apart in my hands. so.

Honestly tragic that Light went down the path he did in the 2nd half bc in the beginning Tobias would've really liked him. He wholeheartedly agrees that the only way to bring REAL "justice" is by making sure the perpetrator will never be able to do evil again, which will never be achievable through lawful means like incarceration (especially in cases where they're connected to a bigshot who can bail them out) so the only way to truly get rid of evil is, like Light figured, through kiIIing them all

#muse: tobias.#Ironically enough Tobias thinks Light isn't (wasn't) harsh enough in his 'judgements'. HE would've made sure they suffer WAY more #I think the biggest differences between Tobias and Light are that 1) Tobias doesn't view himself as a 'God' or anything of the sort;#though he doesn't hurt innocent people for fun or money like they do; he views himself as not THAT different from his enemies #I mean sure he's disgusted by 99% of them but he's aware he does many things the faint of heart would never be able to stand looking at too #2) Light does everything as if he's not involved. He sets out 'judgements' to people who are far away; through more indirect means #whereas Tobias is much more involved. He PERSONALLY sets time aside to deliver the payback to the people who are in high positions #Most of the time he makes sure their last ever conversation is w him. Sometimes their death is remote (but still horrible; i.e explosions)#other times it's by his hands in which case they Wish they could've died like that ^ instead bc his torture isn't Only physical #3) Light doesn't care who he has to discard; being willing to kiII even his closest allies who would never think of turning on him #whereas Tobias would Never abandon his true allies like that. He knows damn well how hard to get across they are and he treasures them #so he's willing to take heavy losses to save them if need be; and certainly won't ever discard them the way Light would #4) Tobias knows damn well that by doing what he's doing it means he's eventually going to end up dead like his enemies and he's fine w that #meanwhile Light seriously thought he would conquer the world; have nothing happen to him whatsoever; then die a peaceful death #I should write a proper meta on the similarities and differences between Light (+L) and Tobias sometime bc I keep thinking about them

Ugh I was excited for today until I found out I'd have to spend it with people that actively make me hate being alive hate the future and drain me off all energy physically mentally spiritually like a vampire I can't stand to be around her she is the definition of stupidity and even then that's generous as fuck this bitch has filled her brain with so much garbage I watch her brain cells die at alarming rates every single time she uses her vocal cords her giggles make me want to jam a sewing needle into my ear repeatedly so I can never have to hear it again its a friendly reminder that my parents decisions this time my dad's constantly makes me want to die
