Cats!!!! I love any and all cats and I’ve never met a cat that didn’t like me. I take pride in that. My favorite breed are Mainecoons. I had a few cats growing up- Winkers, Boots, and Tater Tot- and when I was 17 I had Poncho, my precious darling cat. I found him covered with fleas and abandoned by his mom and he was tiny, so I snatched him up. My ex (the asshole druggie I’ve previously mentioned) locked him out one night while I was on a trip in Virginia and when I came back Poncho was gone. :( I still cry over him sometimes so I won’t get a pet until I can think of Poncho and not hate myself for going on that trip. I am tearing up just writing this lol I’m still so mad at my ex for that I wanna do illegal things to that mf for losing my kitty :( Poncho was tiny, too, and he was attached to me and I to him. I’ll post pics.

So the GIW is the Ghost Investigation Ward and not the Ghost Extermination Ward, yes? Hear me out, hm? 

See, it’s really hard to study ecto-entities when they’re going all over in and out of the world. Really hard! And of course they aren’t like, sentient, studies for years before the boom in this one town showed this! But, the overgrown not-birds (they’re still debating that) are really hard to watch doing their natural thing when they naturally mimic people around them! 

So! They got this idea, right? Their operatives can capture some! They’ve even made enclosures based off of what they currently know! It’s like containing crows, down to the mimicry & puzzle solving just er, with opposable thumbs and intangibility. 

And they don’t succeed first tries of course (Wow were said operatives frustrated and maybe cursing a bit that might be a bit violently) but then they get some assistance from the Fentons! Trying to hit an ecto-entities’ wings in a way to not permanently injure them is hard, but the new net canons that a ghost can’t pass through? Perfect! 

They have so many specimens now! They even released a few that were very much uncontainable- they rely on technology a bit and that entity kept unlocking all the doors. So catch and release with that one it is!  

They even managed to catch the white-haired ghost! In double! Which might not seem that important, but! As they realize during intake & initial examination (wow are they bitey) the two appear to be young! Something their ectobiologists only theorized about but oh are they excited! (Now if only the two would stop trying to escape their enclosure that’d be swell! Look, toys! Foo- oh dear God that baby ecto-entity is melting- Oh few, okay note taken to raise ambient ecto levels in that room dear god that was horrifying and stressful. … Maybe get some feelers out for feeding unstable energy entities…)

Miss Kitty Keystar! She’s the grooviest neighbor in Home and is always singing, dancing, or playing any number of instruments. Kitty is closest with Poppy, who she plays and sings music for regularly, and she enjoys playing Julie’s games. Sally has a one sided rivalry with Kitty, but Kitty is too laid back to notice and they love preforming with Sally when the opportunity arises. Kitty is just a little taller than Eddie at 4 foot 4 inches, and her puppet would’ve needed two puppeteers to operate.

Thank you everyone who commented and suggested traits! This was really fun to work on, and it reminded me of being back in character design class.

I was feeling really down about Cato today. I have to throw out some of his stuff he was sick on before he passed, stuff I can't save like his little electric cat bed, even if I'm keeping and cleaning what I can. So I went up to lay down, but even that was sad and lonely since Cato always napped with me.

Then Fig comes marching in. Makes his way to the spot by my pillow I always left open for Cato.

It needs to be said - Fig is not a cuddler. It isn't that he isn't affectionate. He is. He's very chatty and friendly, loves a quick pet, always wants to hang out nearby. But he does not cuddle up.

He did, this time. He flopped down into Cato's spot, meowed at me, and made sure he was touching my arm. Then he went to sleep, so that I could still nap with a cat next to me, just like before. It wasn't exactly like Cato. It never will be. But it was nice, and it helped more than I expected.

Btw this is my kitty chowder! She passed 2 years ago (and I had her since I was 13 years old) and I got bisque because I thought they looked similar. When I saw bisque's photo I actually started shaking because I knew bisque was meant to be mine.
