I am SO grateful that ed and stede exist as characters exactly as they are. I'm so grateful for these two men who are traumatized and messed up and struggle to even like themselves, who are terrible at communicating, who make enough mistakes between the two of them to fill an entire ocean. I am so grateful to watch them struggle and be seen and be loved and reach out for the things they want and are maybe starting to believe that they deserve. I'm so grateful that the show lets them fall in love and get together exactly as they are, that it doesn't say they need to wait until they've become some unattainably perfect version of themselves before they have permission to have that. i am so grateful for ofmd

Just gonna say, I feel a little disappointed by Man on Fire. They had a lot they wanted to do with Ed going into retirement and breaking up with Stede and Stede drowning his feelings and Stede suddenly gaining the respect he wanted as a pirate and Olu making up with Zheng and destroying Zheng's pirate army before doing anything with it and checking in on Swede and there's a grifting thing going on, and and and-

The ending was the worst for me. Feels like the fucking Pirate Queen would be way smarter than to blindly trust a gift from a British man. Idk, maybe there's intricacies to her character that I'm not seeing, but it's almost like she's not as careful as she was just a few episodes ago. The entire episode felt like it could've used another draft. It's just kind of sloppy.

While it's been really encouraging with the amount of promotion HBO Max has given the show this season, it looks like nothing is guaranteed.

Please keep rewatching the show, and campaign for renewal using #RenewAsACrew on Twitter. I haven't seen almost anything in the way of campaigning post-finale, probably due to all of the discourse. But they're watching our engagement and viewer statistics. So please, we need to rally the forces and ensure we get a season 3!!
