YAAAAAYYYY ITS FINALLY HERE!!! ty guys sm again for 5k i rly appreciate it <3
rules and guidelines under the cut!
rules and due date (i've never done this before so bear w me ok!!):
-due date will be march 1st! i will accept entries a few days late dw i'm nor ur professor or smth BUT I WOULD RLY PREFER IF U GET IT DONE BY THEN (just dm me if u need more time)
-pls tag ur finished piece under #lotuspear5kdtiys and dont forget to mention my user @lotus-pear! if i neglect to reblog ur piece then pls lmk even though that probably won't happen bc i'll be checking that tag every day for new entries👹
-pls don't trace the art.. i'll be really sad if u do that :(((( if u need help at all w the posing or hands then shoot me an ask or weed ur way into my dms bc ik this is kind of a complicated piece
-anyone can participate!! u don't have to be following me or anything and it's fine if we've never interacted before
-colors and expression are completely flexible and i'd even encourage playing around w it since the final product isn't meant to mimic my style. if u can then pls try to keep the pose relatively similar although i don't mind if it's changed a little bit. whatever is most comfortable to u as the artist.
-if u guys want to see the piece without any shading or rendering then pls dm me, ik it might be easier for some ppl to just see the bare sketch or the lineart w base colors
prizes🤩 (ik this is what u guys are rly after /j):
-alr so ik everybody's all like "well what's in this for me🤨" oh my god if u would just let me explain 😐 i'll be choosing three winners and two honorable mentions amongst all the contestants
-the top three winners get a follow (yea ok kinda sucky but wtv) AND they get to commission a fully rendered piece from me of a single character of their choice for free >:) (i'll discuss the details w the winners in two months)
-the two runner ups will also get a follow from me AND they get to commission a sketch of a single character from me (again, i'll discuss what this entails in further detail when the honorable mentions are selected in two months)
————
ermmm yea i think thats it for now i'll come back and edit the post if i feel the need to add anything.. HAVE FUN GUYS I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT U GUYS DO🫶🏼🫶🏼

i got a few asks about my process :0 so yea i took some screenshots mid-process of my recent cliff-skk thing just for that
m gonna preface everything by saying that i did have a ref for the environment!! i avoid color dropping from the image and tracing cuz i do want to hone some digital skills. also saying i'm doing an "environment study" when i'm really just drawing skk makes me feel better abt myself
when i don't have a reference, i tend to do some thumbnail sketches in my sketchbook. here's some random stuff of past work, where i rawdogged everything:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but whatever, back to the cliff-skk. i'll also post a timelapse of it for easy ref, but detailed stuff is under the cut :)
first i did some rough sketches on an orangeish background (underpainting etiquette, i find it helps things feel brighter and keep a stable tone when choosing colors to lay on top), and I quickly lined skk :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then I laid down some flats for the background, again really eyeballing the reference for hues. afterwards i thought it was a bit bright, and i wanted a more sepia/nostalgia feel to it, so i hue adjusted everything to something more uniform
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then i lay down flats for skk + the ocean, which i both had to color adjust a lot (you might see that in the timelapse), and then i jump straight into rendering the background. when i render, i always prefer to do it over something lineless, so i turn the sketch layer off. i rarely do lineart for backgrounds.
i also used to render the characters first, but i've found that it's just not a great approach—especially for art where characters and background are interacting, knowing the hues and shades of the environment is crucial to effective rendering on the character that doesn't make them look out of place.
when i'm rendering, i really try to keep in mind tenants of contrast, perspective, form, and light/shadow. ex, stuff "closer" to us has more detail; the hill in the back is minimalist (in comparison); the shadows lean cool-green while the light leans gray-yellow. rake brushes really carried me here idk... my fav brushstyle forever
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
eventually i reach a point where i'm satisfied (or bored) with the background. for the last stages i usually have the subjects hidden so i can really perfect the details—but then for super duper final details, like the little leaf specks and grass strands, i unhid skk so the poppy details could work around skk. then i get to rendering the characters :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i forgot to take ss of all the stages when i rendered skk, but here's something from... about the middle of the process? i tend to render characters with the lineart hidden as well, sometimes bringing it back just to clarify things, but ultimately i prefer to define things by form than by line. that's just me tho idk, idt it makes or breaks anything, just a preference
Tumblr media
again rlly just thinking about cool/warm, reflective tones (the greenish shadow on chuuya's left inner leg, sky-gray blue on dazai's vest), really just slotting the subject into the environment. after i finish rendering the characters, i usually return to the background and add some stuff—in this one i defined the waves a bit and put some grass around skk
Tumblr media
and yeah then we're done idk LOL. sometimes i run the file through camera raw (photoshop) to do some color adjustments—i find that my iPad displays colors super differently, usually making things a lot lighter than they are (u can see how dark the timelapse is...), so i find myself lightening my work a lot. i also sharpen and add noise as needed :)
i think my process has changed a lotttt even in this past year. it's kinda crazy!! it's always fun to do these and just reflect a bit on how i work. mostly just mindless insanity until it kinda works.
thanks for sending in an ask. and if u read all that, thanks to u too lolol

Guess who actually has to advertise their commissions because they plan to quit their job soon.
Tumblr media
Yay /sar.
Just to get it out of the way, my pricing is subject to change, but I don’t for-see it growing that drastically in the near future. My pricing is NOT a baseline and should not be used to shame other artists for their pricing just because I make it cheap. This is how I view the value of the time and effort put into each commission, not the norm. Nor is it a representation of the final product’s quality. I don’t have bills to pay (being a minor fr) and I can get a commission done within three days for the most part, unless if I state otherwise. Please do not shame me or other artists for my pricing. Ty.
Pricing (all will be fully colored & “rendered”[if you can even call it that] unless requested otherwise):
Bust- $10
Waist up- $15
Full Body- $20 ~ {4 complicated poses, if you have a reference, only +$2, but if you don’t +$5}
Backrounds~ Plain color/Basic shapes- no extra cost ; Image backround- if you can supply, no extra cost, otherwise +$2 ; Scene- +$7
No coloring- -$3
Extra scene shading- +$3
Lineart~ Messy lineart/Cleaned sketch- no extra cost ; Clean lineart- +$2 ; Lineless- +$5
Extra character- +50% of price
Will Do:
Ocs, Fanart, (LEGAL) Ships, Furries (I'm not that good at it though)
(For original characters, I'm alright if you can't provide a full ref sheet. I am willing to take references from any character customizable game- including but not limited to Gacha, Picrew, Roblox, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Papa's games, etc... As long as it's not AI)
Won't Do:
Animals, NSFW (except maybe gore), Fetishes, Hateful works, Problematic elements, Real people, anything involving AI
(I am entitled to deny any commission for any reason, so if you ask for something and I'm uncomfortable, even if it's not on this list, I can deny the commission.)
I take Cashapp as payment (I could take PayPal, but I would prefer not). The way the commission will work after you send the request is that half is paid up front. I'll send a low quality, watermarked sketch for you to approve. Once it's approved, the other half can be paid and I will finish the commission. I can be messaged on Discord at thelandofthefreaks (don't question it). If I don't respond within the day, reach out to me here. I might have just not noticed the message request👍
TYYY (≧▽≦)
Examples below cause I forgot to add them before {alt text is how I would classify it}-

GOD IS GOOOOOOODD 🤭 GOD IS GOOOD!! BOOM SHACKALACKAAA cause in this situation I devour yiur leech twins art AND THERE PARENTS GOD DAMN
ANYWAYS DO YOU HAVE ANY CUTE OR SMALL DETAILS YOU HAVE EVER DRAWN IN ANY OF YOUR ART PIECES?! Its my fav thing to see or figure out about artists to see if they added any cute or small details or acessories as extra parts! Continue to work and draw hard! I aspire to be as awesomesauce like you!!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
AAAAAAAA TYSM LOVE 🥹 u are freaking AWESOMESAUCE the way that you already are right now
i wish i could say that i have a special quirk…but im unfortunately kind of a boring person 😓…
maybe i can interest you with patterns i have while drawing and what i consider when drawing specific characters?
while i draw:
-can i be honest? i have no idea what i’m doing. when i render hair (especially if im faded) its like i blink and then i did all of it. don’t know how i did it, i couldnt give a tutorial if i tried
-i like to add saturated red lines randomly to everything! i know there are rules to this, but when it comes to my art i sort of yolo everything (i really shouldn’t). does it look good or does it look bad when i place it here? thats really the only question i consider, but usually it’s in areas where i notice the coloring is repetitive, and it needs an outline to make it pop.
-twst taught me this first, but i really like adding a light blue to where a dark shadow will be. for example, in hair (for the back of it) i like to add a lighter blue instead of darkening the shadow, imo, it makes it less repetitive and pop out more
-my favorite (well, i hate actually doing them, it takes ages) types of pieces when i finish them, are the ones with multiple poses of a character and then a chibi interaction! like with jade’s halloween outfit, i envisioned floyd helping him get his hair done, waking up at the crack ass of dawn (tired as fuck)
-my artwork is very blue… i just love using blue most of the time. for the saturated color laying overtop an already blue toned black dress? yeah it’s gonna be blue. the back of the hair? light blue. i just feel like it’s the easiest color to use for shading 💀
-i don’t usually draw a white dot to represent light in the eyes. the only reason i specifically talk about this is because i TRY. i always try adding a white dot and no matter what i don’t like it. no clue why
-i rarely post line-art/sketches (in comparison to my fully rendered art), this is because i fix EVERYTHING when i render. the anatomy, the hair, the posing. i can’t see my mistakes until it’s halfway done in full color and almost completed shading 😓
-(random complaint): i’m noticing a problem where the colors seem super saturated in procreate and then it just becomes really dulled down when i post it…idk whats wrong with my eyeballs
character design:
-for leech mom: i really try to balance her sexy, scary side with her cute, bubbly mom side. when i first made her, i never even considered making a leech dad. i just thought, “jade and floyd’s mom would probably be super hot…” and that’s how she was made ^^. pearls are always a must on her, i think in every piece i have of her so far she’s wearing pearls in some way. the idea of her that i always go in with when i draw her is that she’s supposed to come off as someone that would converse very cheerily, have an upbeat attitude, but you there’s something that intimidates you about her… she gives off: will smile kindly while tearing your heart out
-jade and floyd: i like to give jade a darker blue palette than floyd! maybe my eyes decieve me, but i always feel like jade’s hair looks a darker shade of teal… i could be tripping. also, i do try to take into account most times that jade has broader shoulders and floyd is slightly taller! this is just a random tidbit lol, it never affects much really. also, i do make them more muscular whenever i draw them. i know they’re lanky and i love them the way that they are but it’s just a personal preference (along with the fact that they both eat very well and are extremely active? like….) i also prefer drawing their teeth larger
-leech dad: i’m glad i came to the current design of leech dad, but i was freaking looooost when i redesigned him. the first time i made him, i hated it while drawing it. it was more of a, “whatever i drew the mom now i have to draw the dad..”. but now, i can say with 80% confidence i’m happy with the way he is. he was supposed to be more of a navy, but that navy is now mixed with tones of purple, because i can’t move the slider more towards cyan, he’ll just end up looking like leech mom. he had to also be cool toned, his kids have teal hair, so he can’t diverge from that too much right? it’s be weird if he had mostly warm tones in his palette… the things i think about when designing leech dad are: expensive (same with leech mom), old money, hot but slightly psycho looking face, looks like he has a hobby of collecting watches, but surprisingly a guy that’s not extremely moody (cough his wife and son) and well tempered
both him and his wife are giants. i hope that i properly convey that as well 🤣

Tumblr media
Hello, I'm offering some valetine day-ish commissions; if ordered over this weekend, I will be able to complete them for the 14th!
> NOTE < The body type, expression and outfit are placeholders/base sketch -- they can be adjusted to your liking! This includes character types: Green pose CAN be a human character, and blue pose can be anthro, etc.
All example characters are women, but I can draw male characters as well, as well as nb/gnc/agender/etc. characters. Basically, what I'm saying, any gender/sex is fine. Characters that match the base sketch are preferred (weight and and muscles can be added, so if your character is chubby or toned, rather than slender, that is not a problem!), but if your character has proportions that are very different from the ones shown on the base sketch, extra fee might be requested.
By default these are meant to be lingerie type pin ups, but if you want a different kind of outfit, you can request it. Complex outfits might cost extra.
Price: - Flat color: 40 usd >>> Flat color is, well, flat color with no shading. There will be some highlights or texturing for added depth.
- Simple shading shading: 50 usd >>> Simple shading includes flat colors and shading done on 1 layer + 1 highlight layer
- Complex shading: 65 usd >>> Softer or more complex shadows, rendered on multiple shading and highlight layers.
Complex character details might increase the price! Ask if unsure. Simple "graphic" background is included. Just a color splash/texture/gradient/sketch to add mood. IF you want to get a more complex background, ask, and we might be able to discuss it. For your money you get both a web-sized version for sharing and posting [longest side ~1280 px] and a full work file for personal viewing.
As with all my cheap YCHs, you will NOT receive WIPs, just the finished artwork. If you are looking for something similar to this, but want to see WIPs, check out my general commissions, which are open as well! I will, of course, fix mistakes I've made that are not the result of insufficient or inaccurate references.
Characters with extremely stylized proportions (such as any hyper character, shortstack etc.) and taurs/nagas or characters with extra arms/legs/heads aren't accepted! All poses can be flipped to change handedness or showcase asymmetrical features better.
POSES: 1 - Blue pose. Any gender, any species. Wings ok! 2 - Red pose. Any gender, any species. Wings ok! If your character doesn't have a specific necklace, you can let me design one, or just give me a reference for a specific one you want included. 3 - Green pose. Any gender, any species. No wings. The teddy bear can be customized to a small degree -- for example, triangular ears can be given to imply a cat character, or it can be given small horns to imply a dragon etc, or it can be colored to match a stylized version of a specific characters's color scheme.
Payment up front, no holds, no payment plans, this is not an auction so choose whichever option you want.
General ToS applies! My general commission info (includes links to queue and ToS) is here: https://meoproject.tumblr.com/commission PLEASE NOTE that these might take anything from 1-2 months to complete, though currently I am aiming to complete them in two to three weeks. If you need a specific deadline, contact me, and we can discuss.
If interested, e-mail me sirmeo[at]gmail.com ! Please include the following information: - Your username (you won't be credited otherwise!) - Your paypal address for invoicing - Your character name - What level of finish you're looking for (flats, simple shaded, complex shaded) - Your character reference (1-3 best pictures; avoid giving huge galleries of subtly conflicting references) - Desired pose number and color - Other info, such as expression/mood, references for outfits or props...

It's that time again! New comm sheet as well as a new option affectionately titled the Sev Special(!!) I currently have 3 open slots, but I may take on more if I'm able. Contact me through Tumblr DM or Discord (sevrens).
WILL DRAW:
Original characters
Fanart
Blood/gore
Mild nudity
WON'T DRAW:
Explicit NS/FW
Complex armor/mech
Most animals
Complex backgrounds
*Extra characters are an added 50% of base price *Simple color backgrounds are included free of charge
Additional context and payment information under cut:
A quick breakdown of each style:
LINEART: Simple lineart. I can add a single flat color upon request, but no shading is included in this style. CEL SHADED: Flat color + flat shading. Bolder lines and a blockier, less detailed style of shading. RENDERED: Minimal lines and softer light/shadows, a more painterly look. (NEW) SEV SPECIAL: Highly stylized, cartoonish style. Bold and blocky colors. Minimal shading.
I typically ask for 50% of the payment at sketch approval, and 50% once finished, but I'm happy to work with you to figure out what options are best. I prefer payment through paypal, but I will accept Ko-fi and CashApp if needed.
Please understand that turn-around times may vary and while I always try to deliver a finished product quickly, life and mental health often prolong the process (especially during the holidays). I'd rather take a little extra time to provide the best results I can than speed through each commission in a stressed out frenzy. Depending on the style of the commission, it may take up to 2 weeks to finish once I start the sketch (possibly longer but hopefully not). I will stay in touch re: progress and let you know if I think it will be longer. I will happily provide WIPs upon request. This also means if you're lower on the list it will take longer before I can start. I'll let you know where you are in the queue but I can't always accurately estimate how long it will be.

Hiya! Hope this message finds u well :3 I absolutely love your art; found you from insta! Quick question also; I’m not sure if you’ve answered this before, but which brushes do you use for ur digital art? I love the textures they’re so crunchy (endearing)!! Have a lovely day!! :D
hello!! here's a little brush tour ft. this half rendered martin.
also, a great app for ipad artists who really want to dig into texture is art set 4. i swear by it and i've been using it for about two years. none of my more recent art uses it, but that's just because i'm experimenting with my process rn
Tumblr media
so here's a list of my most used brushes lately, and there will be links to all of them at the bottom of this post.
the two labeled "custom pencil" are both my own personal modified pencils (both sourced from the 6b pencil) but the narinder pencil and the vanilla 6b pencil are both very similar to them. i use these two for sketching and flat color specifically, and if you do specifically want these two brushes then i'd be happy to upload them somewhere for you to download, but they're not really necessary for texture
i also use G&B halftone brushes sometimes! but i greatly prefer the RSCO sample pack, and i cannot find the link to the G&B brushes no matter how hard i google, and pretty much any halftone brush set will do the same job
Tumblr media
and here's what they look like in practice!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(i like to set these halftones to color burn. color burn is my most used blending mode, even for shading)
and then i hit "copy all," paste, and duplicate it. so you should have two layers of just your entire canvas. then import a paper texture
i'm partial to the set i'll link down below, my favorite is #5. you should absolutely check out the rest of the free texture packs on their website if you're wanting to diversify your texture process btw, all of their stuff is fantastic.
to use that texture, your layers should look like this!
Tumblr media
on the layer set to the linear burn, i also like to go into the adjustments menu and bump up the brightness until all of the colors are at similar values to what they were before. and the normal layer on top is just to control the intensity/opacity of the paper texture!
after all of that, sometimes i'll go in with brushes like MM rake follow, or more from COFE's weird pencils, on top of all of those layers for finishing touches.
definitely play around with it, try new free brushes all of the time (i heavily recommended subscribing to Manero. they have a lot of free stuff and it's all fantastic) and see what works for you <3
here are the links to the brushes in this post, as well as some extras! some of them are paid and some of them are completely free. + it wasn't mentioned here, but i use the tatyworks linen fabric brush for blending! for any of the paid brushes, i'll try to link some free alternatives

COMMISSIONS OPEN!!
hi I'm bunny, I'm a queer trans artist from the south of the US and I'm really struggling financially right now. I'm trying to escape my extremely homophobic family but I'm not even close to my goal.
Reblogs are super appricated!! even if you can't or don't want to commission anything, reblogs are so helpful. please help me reach a wider audience!!
here are some of my favorite recent pieces!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I take regular, digital art commissions as well as
fanart commissions
tattoo design commissions
logo commissions
profile picture/banner design commissions
OC commissions
and most anything else you can think of!
DM me if you're interested!
more info beneath the cut!
I do single and paired characters at a base rate, as well as multi-character pieces, with a $4 upcharge per extra character.
my rates are very flexible, but the going rate is $8 an hour *or* a set price of $40 per piece (for a fully colored, shaded, rendered piece), depending on your preference. if you just want a sketch or uncovered lineart, it's $5/$6 dollars an hour, depending on what you ask for.
I'm willing to work around your budget!
most of my pieces take 1-5 hours ($8 x 5hs = $40 to finish but can take longer. my current longest piece was around 13 hours ($8 x 13hrs = $104) but it really depends on the size/complexity of the piece.
the timeline for the finished piece could be anywhere from one day to a month (depending on the size/complexity of the design and my availability).
if it takes longer than a month, you get a discount.
if you have a deadline for the art, let me know ahead of time.
I like having a reference image so i can make sure I'm making exactly what you want, but if you don't have one, that's ok! a detailed description or general idea also work.
I reserve the right to refuse any commission (provided that payment has not been received or that the payment has been refunded) for any reason and I reserve the right to not inform you of the factors for which I refused your commission.

AITA of I want art trades to be of equal time/quality?
this is a weird one but I had a spat with someone recently because they wanted to do an art trade, which i was open to do, but we hit a weird impasse. When I do art trades I like to put forth as much effort as my trade partner puts forward first, and would prefer that if i put art first that my partner reciprocates the same amount of time and care.
Art style, quality, experience, follower count means nothing to me in the exchange, just the level of effort. It feels unfair to me that I would put in hours/days of work on a painting to only receive something done in less than a few hours, especially since that would basically be doing a free commission. I'm willing to give smaller/newer artists with less experience or cheaper software more effort in my half on the account that I trust they're doing their best with what they have. It's meant to be fun!
This is not an instance of that. I've checked this artist's gallery and they were perfectly capable of producing extensively detailed pieces, so I agreed to do a more detailed piece, as long as they do the same.
This is where things get weird. They were perfectly fine with me doing something bigger and were very excited, and I brought up that in my listed art trade rules, I'd like them to do the same. They agreed, and we both went to work. I'm a slow artist, so it's been taking me some time, and I'm well into working on colors and rendering. in the middle of this time is when I get my half. it's just lineart with some shading. it was very beautiful, and I'm grateful! but it's not necessarily a level of detail that we agreed on. So I kiss my flat colors and rendering goodbye and just quickly rendered the lineart to match.
They get excited and ask when the final of my half will be done. Confused, now assuming what they provided was just a WIP, I say when they finish theirs. They go "oh but this IS my final :)" and I am... still very confused.
I brought up our agreement to do equal effort and they go "but I did that, this took me a long time" to which I point out I've been working for a few days now to produce a fully rendered painting, which wasn't even finished by the time they posted theirs.
They start getting defensive saying that exertion of effort varies from person to person which I fully agree as a chronically fatigued person! but I still feel really scammed that I'm putting in all this work and they can only provide what their commission form claims is a "colored sketch" (and on the cheaper end too.)
They keep getting weird and defensive and I decide to just call the whole thing off, giving them the art I did and that it was final. They get pissy and call me an entitled asshole for wanting to "break their back" over a free art trade.
I would be perfectly happy getting a rendered sketch, if that were what we agreed on in the first place!
I don't think I'm the asshole here, but being called "entitled" really got to me, especially considering we WERE doing work for free. So here I am. Am I the asshole for wanting equal parts effort? Or am I just being entitled? I'd share the art pieces we did here but I won't out of privacy for both me and the other artist.
What are these acronyms?

hi hina i have some art related questions! 1) is it easy to go back to an old art style on account of already having drawn in it or do you actively have to train yourself to go back? for example, i notice that your lmhs art style is softer and your current one is sharper (that's the extent of my technical art terms knowledge gomen) 2) which of your own art styles/eras is/are your favorite(s)? 3) do you prefer more stylized or more realistic art styles? 4) are you easily influenced (consciously or unconsciously) by other art styles? i know when i read something i really love, i start to mimic that style in my own writing. 4) do you have any favorite classical paintings? i know the fallen angel is one.
hi mariam!!! sorry it’s taken me so long to this so late fjhdskgdjf i won’t lie some of these questions Stumped me but i will try my best to answer !
it depends? I think a lot of my art style shifts come naturally as the result of growing and improving my skills, so “going back” to an older style might be hard to do without falling back on bad habits that I might have grown out of, or simply things that i no longer think look good. i don’t think i would have to train myself necessarily because the muscle memory is still there, but i might have to stop myself from wanting to Improve aspects of the style in ways that might fundamentally alter what made the style recognizable in the first place. in terms of the lmhs art style, or the soft/sketchy look i was using at the time, that specifically would be pretty easy to go back to I think, since it’s basically a slightly cleaned version of how my art looks early in the process :> i would just have to take a clean sketch + add colours w minimal shading, skipping the lineart and intense render
it feels like a copout to say but i love where i am now :’> from what i’ve seen it’s almost like. a gag among artists of arcane being a catalyst fr drastic art improvement but it IS . everything about the art and animation in that show inspires me so much and it’s been great taking what I like from it and trying to mimic and adapt it into something that suits how I like to work. even though it’s frustrating that I take longer to finish a piece, I really am so happy i’m back to painting i’m so proud of my current render and anatomy and use of colour. i think i’ve finally found a good balance of textures as well and overall i’ve just been having so much fun pushing myself into new brushes and finding new ways to use old ones :D
i think i’m somewhere in the middle but leaning more into realism, especially when it comes to the way I colour. obviously there are aspects that I stylize to suit my needs but especially in terms of Other Anime Art i’m aware that I fall more on the realism side of things lol
yes omg i’m so easily influenced and that constant influx of new inspiration and learning how to adapt to it is one of the things i love most about drawing and making art!!! i kind of mention this notion in my lil gush about arcane but i LOVE looking at other artists' works or at things that inspire me and picking it apart in my brain to see what/how i can use it! i got into art by “copying” and even as i’ve grown into being comfortable enough to make my own stuff, I think that there is always value in learning from what you love and figuring out how to make what you love about it your own. maybe it’s not that deep bc i draw anime fanart but art fr me is an amalgamation of every piece of media ive loved and of everything i’ve ever found beauty in
i do love the fallen angel painting but tbh i don’t think classical art occupies a very big place in my brain fhjdskgfj my knowledge is sadly lacking :< i like claude monet and roberto ferri’s work a lot but overall i think modern art and media means a lot more to me in terms of where I draw my inspiration from

I prefer if you pay full price up front, as I do have Kofi which accepts all payments (VGEN BEING WORKED ON!) or if you need to get the money, and or need to see a sketch first we can do 50% then and 50% later. Reason I do this if you stop speaking to me and or don't want the drawing anymore after I finish it's not a total waste of time.

TAT - Depending on how much detail, what the product is it can be 1-3 days! But I will always have it before the end of the week. I'm in the ending stretch of sophomore college year so it depends on how fast or slow I go, but I will contact you if anything comes up!!
Dm me for more info on the commissions, how to support me without payment and other questions. I am more active on Discord but if you'd like to message me on Ko-fi go ahead~!

I’ve been peeking in your art for a bit and it’s absolutely lovely ! Specially your hades fanart? It’s so so good, I wanted to ask what brush you use for your lineart? It gives such a nice touch to your art I’m curious haha, so sorry if you’ve answered this already
thanks a lot! and i don't think i've said what brushes i use before so i might as well give a full rundown. i use CSP with a mix of default and downloaded brushes
i'm assuming you're talking about my chaos drawing? for the lineart here i used the default milli pen with anti-aliasing set to minimum. this is basically just a round pixelated brush with no pressure sensitivity so i think you should be able to get a similar effect on other software pretty easily. (this specific illustration also used the technique of copying the lineart layer, setting it to a strong saturated color (eg bright pink or purple), blurring it a little and setting the layer to reduced opacity. this adds to the crunchyness and might be the effect youre looking for!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this pixelated effect is one i find really fun personally. the optimal brush size in my experience has been 5-9 with this brush, with occasionally 3-4 for detail lines
Tumblr media
as for other art, sometimes when i'm not feeling the pixel effect i used the same milly pen brush but with the second anti-aliasing setting. it keeps the lines crisp but not pixelated (example)
Tumblr media
although recently i found the wiggly brush on the asset store that can work as an inbetween alternative. still in progress with the drawing im testing it on and while i think i'll stick to the milli pen it adds an interesting texture
Tumblr media
you didn't ask about rendering brushes but i'll say anyways. my other three main brushes come from the arubrush set i saw someone mention on tumblr i believe? theyre by knight zhang the link is in the faq section. i downloaded a the motherboard set and experimented until i found a few i liked, though there's a lot of stuff worth checking out in there!
Tumblr media
i used the painterly and alector brush for any painting and rendering. the chaos piece was done using a mix of both (mostly the alector brush) for the shading.
this oc painting was done almost exclusively with the alector brush, while this melinoe piece was done with the painterly brush, if you want to compare the textural differences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and i use the last one for sketches occasionally! its more textured than i prefer for finished works but its really nice to draw with
Tumblr media
that's about it! hopefully this helps

Commission Information
Can also be found here if tumblr doesn't glitch it for the fifth time.
As said, Tumblr is glitching like hell. But! I need to get money for surgery and I feel weird about asking for money with nothing in return so...Commissions!
Tumblr media
I do standard commissions, art nouveau style commissions, and a few different niche commissions like making doll-style versions of characters, doing outfit designs, and finishing old sketches or redoing old art you may like.
I also love bringing OCs to life!
Will Not Draw:
Gratuitous Gore, Furries (no shade, I’m just bad at them. Normal animals? Fine. Anthro animals? I’m so bad at it).

Star Wars (Mandalorian Armour will get a $50 upcharge on painting, Clone Armour will get a $25 upcharge on painting)
Time Princess (Mobile Game)
Sailor Moon
Apothecary Diaries
Pokemon (pokemon count as animals in the extras section)
Vtubers (I just like drawing them)

Finish It! Commissions
These are commissions that are based on past sketches I never finished. If you’ve seen a sketch from me here or on twitter you’d like me to redo as a full art piece, please let me know. The rates for these are as follows:
Redo Sketch - $50 (optional)
Finishing (lining and rendering) - $150 for a single figure, another $50-$100 per extra figure based on complexity
Art Nouveau Commissions
These are commissions that are only finished, rendered pieces, but there are certain breakdowns and extras that you can add.
Initial Sketch - $50-$75 per figure
Background Sketch - $25
Art Nouveau Lining and Rendering
$200 for one character and the background, adding another figure would add another $100-$150 per figure
Final Touches
$25, this includes things like changing lineart colours and colour balancing, along with adding some texture to the piece
Extra Motifs
$10 per motif, things like adding a kind of flower into the composition, adding a plant, adding a weapon, basing the piece off a tarot card, or adding some other extra (like the wine in the Cody and Obi-Wan piece)
Extras for All Commissions
Holo Effects - $10
Animals - $75 for sketch to render, only as an extra. If an animal is the only figure in a piece or a major figure, it runs you the same as any other figure.

Outfit Design Commissions
Sketch (per character) - $100

If your commission total passes $200, you can pick one of the following to receive:
A two-hour private livestream (you can invite whoever you want) to watch me work on the sketch for your piece, make comments, ask questions, and make additional requests
A timelapse video of the creation of your piece
None of this applies to NSFW including artistic nudity. If you’re interested in a NSFW commission, please reach out in DMs.
