I just thought I'd throw in my thoughts since album collecting was brought up 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I love collecting albums but I don't really get the pre-ordering thing. I've pre-ordered a handful of albums before but people who pre-order theirs favs every single time? Why? You don't even know what it sounds like or looks like??

I collect albums for many different reasons. Of course if I really like the album musically I will buy it but I'm also really into photography and fashion and makeup ect and so if I feel mid on the album musically but I really like it visually I'll still buy it. I mean the album is 99% a picture book so like it seems justified to want to buy it based on the visuals. That being said I won't buy an album full stop if I hate it musically no matter how pretty. But if I'm just out and about in a place that sells albums I'll buy one as a silly $20 purchase every once in awhile too yk?

At the end of the day I think collecting can be as serious or unserious of a thing as you want as long as it's adding something positive to your life yk?

Seeing the different concepts and designs/layouts for albums is something I really enjoy from an artistic standpoint

Are my albums collecting habits/views too much? How much grass do I need to touch🤪🤪🤪

I also collect photocards but I would never buy multiples of an album to try to get the one I want. I just find the pc I want online and buy it 🙈

i'm not the ultimate arbiter of the line between normal behavior and insane wasteful consumerism, but i think you're very normal?!?

i love collectors. i think everybody needs a hobby, and i think there's a lot of merit to collecting physical media. kpop albums albums are a wealth of art and pop culture. and collecting is fun! i mean, i have a bunch of kpop albums myself, and one of my biggest regrets is not having any money in high school and not being able to buy copies of my favorite second gen kpop albums. one of these days i am going to buy the misconceptions for us and just spend a whole afternoon poring over the pages and listening to the albums over and over again!! i love love love my wayv albums, i have every single one and i really do frequently take them out and flip through the pages. the wayv albums, especially totm, are beautifully designed!!!

like, you're totally fine. i respect and love album collectors. but in the end, there's a huge difference between collecting albums, and blindly buying 10+ copies of the same album just to boost numbers for some dudes you think are hot.

they spend like half of watching and dreaming establishing how the collector doesn't understand the concept of death and injury for mortals because he is so powerful that he doesnt need to worry about that for himself. and also they have never connected with mortals enough to understand that via extrapolation. so they set that up entirely for the collector to finally understand the gravity of death when he befriends luz and she dies right in front of him. but then like one anime battle later they meet up with luz again and luz is like "ya ik i died lol but the titan who was also dead fixed me back up and im fine dw about it"

#shut up pandora #the owl house #luz noceda #the collector #watching and dreaming #i understand the concept of getting the collector to understand death and i think its interesting to explore #however even if the show had more time to do it this is ultimately a disney show #and any character loveable enough to befriend the collector #would also be a character that disney s&p would not allow the creators to permakill #and luz being the main character gives her a reason to connect with the collector and fill that role #but luz DEFINITELY cant be permakilled by reason of good storytelling #so this concept specifically in the context of a disney show is really fucking hard to explore imo #like yeah! luz's death was pretty heartwrenching especially everyones reactions afterwards #but what was the collector supposed to walk away with afterwards with regards to that specific topic?#'yeah death is permanent if someone dies youll never see them again and all the potential you had to connect with them is gone forever'#'oh but not luz specifically she died and came back the titan fixed her up'#'also the titan whos been dead for eons was actually just chilling the whole time and luz had a lovely conversation with them'#granted the titan is gone now but thats more related to luzs baggage #and if the collector does learn about the permanence of death from it it would be after the shows over which i think is cheap #anyway that just. wasnt a topic that could be explored well in a disney show with the main characters imo #and i feel like they should have just gone with the 'the collector parallels king in that they need to consider ppls feelings' route #but like. a lot more drastic than kings character arc due to the collector being a demigod or smth #again. this isnt something i think they could have adequately explored with a protagonist even with a full 3 seasons #the closest the show comes to exploring this is with belos and his brother #how belos killed caleb and destroyed any potential they had of making up or just any of calebs future in general #but he still keeps making grimwalkers bc he cant accept that and it works bc caleb is not involved in the plot at all #so we can understand the tragedy without having a character that is involved in the story himself and therefore subjected to disney #but with luz its real hard to fridge her for the collectors character development lol bc shes got other stuff going on #shes the main character. you cant kill the main character for someone else's character development in a show like this

hey guess who is actually and without exaggeration crying over ultrakill

#peridots-nonsense #ultrakill #ok so. i'm emotional right now. this has been stated. what also has been stated is the fact that this is my 2nd playthrough on a new device #first time i finished it was in november and while altars of apostasy does make me pretty sad that's about the limit to ultkill emotions.#it's really funny actually because i was so excited for heresy. i took longer to beat act 2 than i did the first time around cause i wanted #to improve on the levels (p-ranks and challenges and secrets. y'know. still haven't done 5-S yet though). so i had more time to anticipate #specifically. Gabe's rematch. i was THRILLED!!! i don't even know why!!!!! but i never stopped smiling the whole time i was fighting him!!!#it got so bad the first time i got to his second phase that i had to actually pause for the better part of a minute from stimming so hard!!#grinning like an idiot for five minutes straight!!! no fight or game has EVER made me feel that way before.#the hk collector is a fun fight for sure and i sometimes get happy going up against characters i like from any games. however #it fades as i get into the fight. it's never been nearly that grand. i was singing a lot too but sleeping family made it more of a whisper #i ended up spending 24 minutes on it with 58 restarts. and yet i was ECSTATIC the whole time. i can see what it felt like to him now lol #so. instantly on the verge of tears when i beat him. and when i got past the ending cutscene i broke. i love this game so so much...#idk. sure this could've been a text to my friends or something but i do not care you all will hear of this #cause this is the best thing ever actually. brb going to go tear up again though

This is absolutely not a diss on anyone who did like the Collector's ending there's merits to it and interpretations that make it more reasonable but sometimes idk it's such a let down when you're watching a show about found family, acceptance, healing from abuse, etc and you get attached to this character only to never see them get more than a gentle dismissal.

I have to wonder what kids who are more like the Collector than the other kids in the show or who have similar behaviors because of neglect feel about that ending. Maybe for some of them the idea of leaving everyone behind to be in their own space would be freeing and exciting but it does come with the implication that the Collector didn't deserve to have a real family.

That's what stings about it I think, I know that wasn't the intention but his resolution really kinda was like "ok now take this and go away" in the end he was too out of touch, too powerful, too weird, too messed up, and no one especially wanted him enough for the writers to justify him staying.

#the collector toh #collector toh #also this isn't like an auuugh the show is bad after all kinda thing #like I don't think this is hashtag traumatizing kids or anything #but I just have to wonder what I would have felt about it when I was still just like the collector and I was that kid who couldn't get #anyone to stick around and who was always too much for everybody #I always felt like it was the moral thing to do to withdraw myself and to exist less to be easier on other people #I wonder if the collector doing that would have reinforced the idea #or maybe it really would be freeing it's not like they hated him or wanted him to leave #but idk it just makes me so sad I want to scoop the Collector up and tell him to stay instead of pushing everyone away to be on his own #This kid deserves so much more love than they got and it hurts a little bit #it's one of the few things from the epilogue that I will always hardcore retcon out bc like #dear god the thought makes me miserable personally #the last thing he needs is to be alone and have more time to think
