i liked her well enough then, but then she painted the square in that blood red motor oil

and it almost made me cry, it felt like a hope that is kept alive even in the darkest of times, even with the veneer of nihilism she actually still cares and wants things to be good

this hits so very different after reading A Sacred and Terrible Air

as an episode, wild blue yonder is more atmospheric, more engaging, and better written

It's not that star beast is badly written, or not special, or doesn't have a great premise. It is and it does. But all the required exposition and some of the awkwardness means it doesn't quite have the time to commit properly.

Wild blue yonder is a standalone. It commits fully, just like midnight, like blink, like heaven sent even (standalone status notwithstanding) . It is more memorable for it.

Hey, they showed Ghostbusters: Afterlife yesterday on TV and… I kinda like it?

Now, despite watching a lot of 80s stuff as a kid, I did not grow up with the original two movies nor animated series, so my perception may be different than that of old hard-core fans. I did though watch the original movie not that long ago and found it alright, funny and imaginative, but nothing that special. 

This movie though, despite repeating a lot of things from the original, was kinda relaxed and cozy… like a good summer movie. And I mean that as a compliment.

Idk, I loved all the characters, the set-up that ties it in with the original, the cinematography, the story behind the ghosts, it had humour, it had charm. And yes, the “recycling” of elements from the original actually made sense with explanation they gave us, I was positively surprised we even got an explanation why the exact same things would happen now again.

Anyway, but thats just my take.

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol

yknow i never noticed the sheer rareness of images having ids or alt text on this website until i started adding alt text to my art (and trying to remember to add it to any images i post in general, especially text screenshots) and that makes me kinda sad
