-->Though I quickly learned I had bigger problems than Alice cooking naked, when I discovered Nalani had wandered around to the back porch and was doing some herbalism at the grill. :O!! Fortunately, she was good enough not to set any mood-killing fires, and she and Felipe eventually wandered into the kitchen to chat with Alice (now clothed again, yay) and offer their help with the cooking. While Clement Frost did his best to snag some leftover fruit pie and grand breakfast. *sigh* Food's coming, good sir! Alice eventually finished the meal (getting level 5 Gourmet Cooking skill in the process, nice) and called everyone to the table --
-->Cue a mess as I tried to get everyone to at least SIT at the table without getting distracted. *shakehead* It took quite a bit of wrangling as Sims got distracted playing on their phones, going outside to check on the specters on the front porch (who were currently sprinkling their playfulness all over Angela Pleasant), and trying to get other food from the fridge, but EVENTUALLY everyone (well, everyone who could fit -- sorry, Nalani, it's a six-seater!) sat around the damn table. Oh Sims, why are you like this... Anyway, everyone enjoyed the food they had in front of them, and Smiler tried telling some stories about pirate captains and castaways, because it was actually Talk Like A Pirate Day on top of everything else. XD Neither of their attempts actually fulfilled the goal (they kept ending the stories early), but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves regardless, so -- win?
-->With the meal sorted, I noticed the weather was just getting worse and worse -- so while Clement, Felipe, Nalani, and Rory kept chatting to each other in the kitchen (and getting more leftovers out of the fridge -- guys, come on), Victor headed out back to the weather machine and cleared the skies before downing a Potion of Plentiful Needs to fix his exhaustion and other failing needs. With the rain tapering off, Smiler cleaned up the dishes in the kitchen, and Alice got her tripod set up on the front porch (ignoring the passing NPC kicking over their garbage can) -- and then, once everything was clear, I sent the gang out to the front porch to take some trio shots to fulfill the "take 20 pictures" goal!
...as you can see, first shot was kind of ruined by the appearance of orange tiger stripes all over Victor. Oops. XD Not sure WHEN he got sick, but it certainly made things a mite more inconvenient when it came to pictures!

Timeloop au snippet
“If certain deaths reset the loop,” Nesta began again, “Certain events should. Curses have rules.”
And didn’t Lucien know it- he had yet to find a single one to even bend, much less break.
“Curses also don’t happen like this,” he told her, sinking further into the plush rug with a sigh. “If it’s really happening- if every life is real, this goes beyond the scope of any known great working.”
“It’s happening,” Nesta snapped, before addressing the wall past him in a measured rush, each word audibly chosen. “The Cauldron remembers. It enjoys talking.”
Twenty three lives, and this was how Lucien watched her die, over and over and over.
Dragged, drowned- bloody or screaming or terrifyingly calm, as though planning for what horror she’d be when she emerged- Nesta fighting against every oppressive force that had ever sought to control or cage her- but twenty three times, she died a human, or she went into the Cauldron.
It did not change.
Dying did not hurt. Not anymore, the blur of time pulling away manifest from the first sign of sheer doom.
But injury hurt. Torture and fighting and- it was all real, pain was real, which meant every twenty years, Nesta had to feel the Cauldron tear her apart in remaking.
“You’re smoking, Vanserra.”
Lucien smothered the singed rug with half a thought, scrambling upright.
She’d gone steely and amused again, not the least uncomfortable with Lucien’s forever unstable magic.
Sighed lovely- what was there that was not lovely, about Nesta Archeron?- and cupped in her hand one of the embers floating by, red gold gleaming for a long moment before the spark slowly winked out against her unburned palm.
“Light,” Nesta said, absolutely unreadable, “Is nothing but time.”

okay, self-indulgent time
i replayed fire emblem fates recently to actually learn the reclassing system (i was only using master seals previously), and the first thing i noticed while looking up stats is how drastically boons and banes can change the avatar's stats. So, as a joke, I immediately decided to play a magic class. Also, I played hard mode for the first time.
This is Kaori, a diviner/onmyoji classed avatar, with +magic and -strength. She's mature and calculating and not physically strong (making some early game dialogue pretty funny). She sided with her birth family, and picked up magic after her "father's" lovely sword exploded in her face. She almost immediately ditched Yato, using a +1 thunder tome that she totally didn't dimension hop to get (I also worked out online play finally). She's also a little salty that she was pushed towards swords growing up.
She managed to 1v1 Leo in his map with magic, and Xander which allowed her to skip his entire level lol.
She adores her son Kana, who reclassed into paladin and picked up tomebreaker from a previous logbook unit who had it. With tomebreaker, armourslayer, and beastslayer, Kana took down quite a few scary threats.
In terms of a magical avatar: fun, funny, decently strong, but very frail, at least in hard mode. Often having to hide behind defensive units meant she didn't see as much battle, but the onmyoji being able to use staffs meant she had added utility as a healer, which was why I picked it over sorcerer.
Fates can be hilariously bad in some places, but it's my first fire emblem game so I'm still quite fond of it. I miss being able to customise the player character so much ;-;
