I'm just realizing that if Toga hadn't want to confess her "love" to Midoriya, he would have been already there and that fight would be going a lot easier.

Hating Him - Bakugou Katsuki (1)
bakugo x (black) fem reader
( still can read if you’re not)
sorry if it bothers you, i just felt that my black readers weren’t feeling black as they were reading y/n stories cause i for sure wasn’t.
Warning: none
Summary: Bakugo and you have hated each other ever since you met, being on the same track team and having the same friend group didn’t make things any better. you 2 have to act like you like each other for the benefit of the friend group until one day you and him are forced to have movie night with the others and you both have had enough of each other’s shit.
in this chapter: you get invited to the movie night and bump into bakugo
The morning smell of outside filled your lungs as you stepped out your house. It was exactly 5:30 in the morning. The streets were not busy and there was barely any noise, just faint sounds of dogs barking and truck drivers in a distance. It was the perfect time to go for your daily run. The chilly air made you happy, it gave you more of a challenge. you zipped your nike training jacket up. It fit you tight, tugging at every curve of yours. The sky was a foggy blue, a few clouds started coming in, along with the sum.
You walked down the steps of your house, stretching your legs when you got to the sidewalk. You looked ahead and yawned as you walked onto the street. Your neighborhood was fairly nice to say the least. Everybody minded their business, especially since your house had been secluded. After your grandmother died, she left one of her houses she owned to you, making it easy for you since you dreaded the idea of having to share a dorm with someone, let alone having to get an apartment.
you placed your airpods in your ears and played Apparently by J.Cole. J.Cole had been your favorite rapper since you were 12 years old, you missed the days where your 12 year old self would dance around your room to his music, now you’re grown and responsibilities are becoming more than just making sure your chores were done. You stretched one last time before taking off.
...
Once you were done, sweat dripped from your face. your breathing was heavy and the cold water bottle in your hand had been long awaited. The sun was now out. The birds chirping got louder and the old lady from across the street was sitting in her chair with her small cat in her lap, you quenched your thirst, swallowing every last drop of water. “Good morning Y/n” She chirped. You wiped your mouth with your wrist smiling, turning towards her, “Goodmorning Ms. Rodriguez.” you reply as you waved.
You finally go back inside your house, feeling at ease. you take off your black vapor max at the door and go to your kitchen, grabbing a nutrigrain bar, you ate it before going upstairs to get ready for your classes. you took your curly hair out of its messy bun. the roots of your hair were finally breathing and it felt good. you scratched your scalp in satisfaction. you looked in the mirror, loving your features and your brown/caramel skin. you never felt the need to put yourself in the 3 categories because to you there was no need to, everybody in the community was black so why separate it into groups.
you placed the shea butter your mother made for you on your face. you took off your semi-sweaty clothes throwing them into your dirty clothes hamper and looked at yourself in the mirror. your body was perfect to most but you didn’t see what everyone saw. your thighs were too thick for your liking, especially since you did track. your breast were too big to you, they sometimes got in the way while working out. you had a 4 pack from the working out, everybody told you that you had an hour glass body but you hated it. if this what a hour glass body was, you hated it.
you took off your panties, replacing your old ones with Tommy Hilfiger ones. You grabbed a pair of black nike sweatpants that fit your thighs perfectly. You took off your bra, letting your breast breath and put on another sports bra, putting on a white t-shirt fresh out the pack. you ran chap stuck along your plump lips, they were more than plump actually if you like them so it didn’t matter. you picked out the roots of your hair leaving it’s on it’s curly state. you had dyed your hair a ginger color, which made you look like sza a little. your fro was like hers too, very big and curly.
You wrapped your apple watch around your wrist and put on some whit nike socks, along with your white air force ones. Your phone started dinging and it was the gc, you had been in with your friend group.
Mina :) > goodmorning whores. Time for class before you become drop outs.
Denki ⚡️> good morning Mina ;)
Midoriya🥬> Goodmorning everybody, i have a big test in Mr. Aizawa’s today so i have to get to studying, talk to you guys later.
Kirishima> Mornin. It’s beautiful out today, isn’t it and i’m not a whore mina.
You> yea, kirishima i’m pretty sure you got caught with cami in the janitors closet.
Iida> Mine was too, you guys need to stop texting and get to class.
You> sure, see you on the track field lida. this gc is getting deader by the day and it’s embarrassing to watch.
(seen by kirishima, Mina, and Bakugou)
lida> typing...
You shut off your phone with a smile, knowing that got him heated. You didn’t even care for his response. you loved messing with lida, it was funny, you sprayed a little vanilla perfume on your body and you were off to a place you dreaded.
...
You were now in the library studying with Mina. Mina was like your best friend, you told her everything and she told you everything. “Have you seen that picture of trey songz you know what?” she asked and your eyes went wide, in shock that she was talking about this in the library. “yes, but i can’t go crazy over it, he made the shit so corny. the whole post he made afterwards had me cringing at my phone so hard. i was like “boy what the fuck” he too old for that shit.” you told her and she giggled.
“I’m having a movie night with the rest of the group this saturday, you have to come. you never come to things with us anymore. Ever since bakugou started hanging out with us, you’ve been avoiding us. i’ve noticed some type of tension between you 2, i hope it isn’t sexual?” she stated and your stomach churned at the thought of that stuck up dummy.
“No, i just like staying to myself, that’s all. i think i’ll come Saturday as long as it’s not going to be a lot of people you know how busy i am with track and stuff.” you stated in reality you hated being around bakugo. especially since he always felt to make rude remarks towards you when everyone wasn’t around. He was normally mean to everyone, but you got it the worse since you had the shortest running time on the team. When track practice would come around you and him would argue with each other every second. you hated being yelled at or talked to badly and your mother sure didn’t raise a bitch so you talked to him just as reckless as he did to you and he hated every second of it since you were the first to ever test him. your personalities didn’t mix well at all.
“it’s only gonna be, denki, bakugo, kirishima, todoroki, asui, uruaka and deku but that’s if bakugo doesn’t mind.”
“yea, i’ll think about it.” you said softly.
...
you were now at practice and the death stares you received from bakugo made you just wanna slap the fuck out of him. His eyes followed you as you warmed up. You could see him start to come towards you and you sighed. His tall figure stood in front of you, blocking the sun, his body shaded you. “You draw too much attention.” He stated as the boys that were on the team stared at you. You were the only girl on the track team so you learned to get used to it. “I know, why are you telling me this?” you asked and he gritted his teeth, “All of those boys are practically eye raping you.” he states, taking in your appearance and you sighed, “I don’t know what to fucking say. these are the only sizes in shirts they have and if my curves happen to show then so be it. it’s not like the whole thing is out.”
Sweat dripped from the side of his head, he had on a white tank top and some nike shorts with some white vapor max. a towel hung over his broad shoulders. your eyes scanned his body, you never thought bakugo was ugly, he was perfect when it came to looks. He was very tall with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He had short, spiky, ash-blond hair that looked soft. His eyes were a sharp and bright red in color that showed his hostility. his looks fit his personality though, very cocky.
“Why do you care?” You asked and his cheeks turned a bright pink and anger came upon him, this line made him mad, “I don’t.” he replied angrily. “Well then stop telling me things i already know. All you do is bother me.” you told and his lips curved into a smirk, “Your existence bothers me, imagine how I feel.”
You rolled your eyes, pushing past him aggressively. He can be so fucking annoying. Imaging having to be on the same team as someone you hate. It’s really irritating, especially when the person is somebody as arrogant as he is. He needs to be humbled.
...
You and Bakugou were the only 2 left after practice, your coach was mad at the both of you because of what happened last week with the sub coach. Bakugou had been bothering you that day and you snapped and then you two decided to have a race on your own which didn’t turn out so well since bakugou got mad that you won in the end.
So now you and him were being forced to do “after practice workouts” with each other. You were now lying on the ground of the track floor, exhausted. Bakugou was right next to you, your chest rose up and down, your breathing heavy and your legs worn out. You looked over at him, and he looked over at you. “This wouldn’t have happened if you just wouldn’t hate me so much and accept that i’m faster than you.” you stated and his red eyes stared at your light brown ones. “Can’t blame this all on me. You hate me as well and you don’t know when to shut up. You don’t have to respond to everything i say but you do.” He said and you placed your hands at your stomach, “I’m not about to let you walk all over me like you do everyone else. Your ego is too big and i’m doing nothing but lowering it.”
“Is that what you think?” he asked and you sighed softly looking him in his eyes trying to search for anything but anger but there was no other emotion but that, his pupils did dilate once he noticed how hard you were staring into his eyes though, “It’s not what i think, it’s what i know.” you said. “i don’t understand why you are always so angry all the time. I don’t even know how you have the friends that you have. obviously that means they see past it but i refuse to. i can’t. sorry but that’s just how i am.” you stated sitting up, he sat up with you staring at you, “i don’t understand how you have friends, you are very competitive and just avoid me then. We can always hate each other from a distance.” he stated and you smiled shaking your head as you stood up.
“Can’t do that when we have the same friends and are on the same team and i’m only competitive when it comes to track. So i’ll just hate you regardless and plus you always keep your enemies close. It doesn’t matter though, i’m still faster.” you added on that last part trying to make him mad and you could hear him start to yell as you walked off and a smile came upon your lips.
There’s no way you could ever be friends with him so why even bother trying. Something about him makes your blood boil.

A Class 1A x reader where she is a new student and she is like toph from atla. Like she is blind, has a quirk that allows her to control the earth, never backs down from a fight, independent and she's brutally honest. Love your Writing🥰
AHHHH good choice anon! I fucking love toph and her bad bitch energy is >>> I’ll try my hardest with this, and I think I’ll make it a hc bc it’s the best option LOL | also thank you so fucking MUCHHH ily and I hope this is good enough for you! xx 🤎
TITLE: Reader w. A Quirk Like Toph (ATLA)
PAIRING: Class 1-A & Reader
WARNINGS: Explicit Language
Tumblr media
when you first stepped into class 1-a, you were kinda scared
besides the fact that you couldn’t see anyone
you didn’t know what to expect from the people around you
would they be nice? Would they taunt you for your impairment like others have?
if they did you’d fuck them up—
the minute you walked into the class, everyone’s eyes widened at the sight of you
your pupils were an extremely blueish white hue, almost appearing as if they were glowing
aizawa told you he already alerted the class of your ““condition”” so there was nothing to worry about
the first person to talk to you was Mina
even though most of the reason was that you were seated behind her, she was happy there was finally another girl in the class
she introduced you to a girl name hagakure who you learned was invisible
immediately they started describing everyone in class to you
“uraraka is like... the sweetest girl ever”
“yea and asui and jirou are so cool”
“also, todoroki is like.... the prettiest boy in this school”
“not like i’d be able to tell”
“....”
“you can laugh...”
your sense of humor really threw everyone off cause it’s like..
damn can i laugh or is that disrespectful??
the only person to not give a fuck and would laugh out loud was someone you learned to be bakugou
a lot of conversations btwn you and some classmates would be a bit... humorous once they realized you joked around about being blind
“are you deaf? we’re taking—”
“no, i’m blind.”
“.......(sigh)”
when everyone first saw your quirk though, they were amazed
even bakugou thought it was pretty convenient he’d never admit it out loud though
what really impressed them though
was when school’s asshole monoma found out there was a blind new girl in 1-a
he thought it would be a good idea to sneak up on her & give her the run around
it was not a good idea
the vibrations of his feet were ones you could tell were trying to be undetected and you thought this was someone trying to attack you
you heard about the damn mess UA has with villains so you were always on guard
without a blink of a blind eye, your feet stomped across the ground and sent a ripple of dirt collapsing in his direction
monoma was now stuck into the ground with dirt around his entire lower body and had the inability to move
kirishima said that ever since then, you are now the manliest person he knows
bakugou didn’t like that
You never asked any of your classmates for help no matter how much they tried to assist you
Momo was always telling you she could create this one thing that writes down what it hears for you
“That’s really sweet yaoyorozu but seriously I’m okay”
“No Y/N you don’t understand, you don’t have to struggle to see anymore because this can help—”
“I’ll still be blind—”
The one who never really laughed 100% at your jokes though would be midoriya and iida
Midoriya being that he always got so flustered and felt bad for even raising his lips at the thought of one of your jokes
and iida because he thought laughing at someone’s disability was “beyond unheroic and uncalled for”
you couldn’t see them but you knew they were just that guy in class
“The desk is a place to do your work, not sit”
you soon learned that midoriya didn’t care about his life at all though, which shocked you bc he seemed so well mannered and careful
one time mineta tried to look up your skirt and ojiro smacked him with his tail and that’s how you became close friends with “the guy that’s not half monkey but he’s pretty much half monkey”
all in all, everyone in class 1-A adores you, even those who act like they don’t *cough ykw*
you all defend each other, and manage to work really well with one another during quirk battle practices
they’ll defend you to the death bc of you being blind even though you constantly tell them you can handle them
“you can’t see so let me electrify them for making that joke about your blindness”
“please y/n, let me ice their bodies so they are unable to attack you. i refuse to let a comrade of mine go injured if i can protect them”
“guys i can handle it”
“yeah but you can’t see so how are you supposed to attack them if you don’t know where they are???”
“......”
“can you please get this dirt coffin thing off me”
“i just wanted to freeze the bad guy—”
we stan class 1-A and earth bender!reader & that’s just that on that!

BNHA CONCERT BAND AU BC IM A NERD
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS OR HEADCANONS AKSJHD PLS ASK ME I LOVE BAND I LOVE MUSIC AND I LOVE THIS-
Izuku Midoriya:
Boy definitely plays a wind instrument. I’m assigning him clarinet
Wants to be first chair so bad, he practices so freaking much I swear
ALWAYS. IN. A. BAND. ROOM. with Iida and Uraraka. They’re always practicing
He’s so confused with music theory, please help him. He just,, WHY is it minor?? WHY IS THERE A SOLO WITH NOTHING WRITTEN?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAS TO IMPROVISE WITH THE CHORDS WRITTEN OVER THE BARS-
Ochako Uraraka:
ALTO SAXOPHONE-
She’s also comfortable enough to play 2nd or 3rd clarinet if needed, or even soprano saxophone
Doesn’t have her own instrument, she borrows from the school and she HATES the reeds, they’re crap. When someone gives her a good reed, she CHERISHES it.
In jazz band also! With the same instrument, but she doesn’t feel ready for solos so she’s usually 2nd or 3rd. Bro when she has to switch from swing to straight she ALWAYS forgets and it’s the band’s downfall.
Tenya Iida:
TRUMPET TRUMPET TRUMPET TRU-
And he’s one of THOSE trumpet players, by the way.
“Sir the French horns aren’t tuned” yeah, he has perfect pitch
Literally plays flight of the bumblebee as warm up. Or has his own warm up scales. Never practices right before practice though, he thinks it’s “too late” for that
Has his own trumpet, it’s silver with hints of gold/brass. Takes care of it RELIGIOUSLY.
He HATES having to blow out spit onto the floor, but dude what other choice do you have??
Momo Yaoyorozu:
Sweet angel 🥺🥺 she’s an oboe player
Definitely bought her own instrument
Sight reading MASTER. she instantly gets the key bro, it’s so rare that she forgets an incidental
Definitely leads sectionals all the time. And she does it WELL.
When people (*COUGH* BASSES*cough*) slowdown, she’ll sway to the beat in hopes that they’ll follow her
Kyoka Jirou:
Electric bass or contrabass, give her either and she’s good to go dude.
Also has perfect pitch and knows her music theory WAY more than a high school student should know. She’s a genius.
Her warm ups? Jam sessions with Hanta and Todoroki. She just shouts a key and they go. It’s usually jazz, she plays a pretty constant pattern, Todoroki tries to improvise but hanta takes over pretty quick-
Definitely in jazz band as well. Also in a school competition band (like singer and stuff), also a one-woman-band. She’s in so many bands dude.
Shouto Todoroki:
TENOR SAXOPHONE
Also has a background in flute bc his parents wanted him to have ~versatility~
Knows all the theory in his head, like he knows what’s going on, he just doesn’t know how to explain it
*false note* “sorry my instrument isn’t warmed up, it’s probably my reed”
Has plastic reeds. And reeds ESPECIALLY for jazz.
Oh yeah he’s in jazz band! Loves that he’s like, the only tenor saxophone so he gets all the solos
Rikidou Satou:
TUBA PLAYER IN DA HOUUUSSEEE
Buddy actually brings the tuba home to practice, he drags that thing AROUND.
Always. Slows. Down. But no one knows it’s his fault most of the time, they blame Sero-
Firmly believes in the “basses are the foundation of the orchestra” mindset, he’s so proud to be a bass
Kouji Kouda:
Soprano Saxophone, but can also handle clarinet if the need comes (he just loves the sound of soprano sax you guys)
DEFINITELY in jazz band, but as a Tenor Sax 2 bc he knows if he went as a soprano sax he probably would’ve gotten solos
Is it Momo’s oboe?? Is it Kouda’s soprano sax?? No one knows the different except those two and Jirou
Plays Shostakovich’s jazz suite no. 2 as a warm up
DEFINITELY A SWAYER. He just gets into the mood of the music and SWAYS.
Tooru Hagakure:
Flautist!! She chose it as an 11 y/o bc it was a girly instrument but she really likes it lol
A mediocre player, she spends most of warm up with Mina tho, she thinks that she’ll get to warm up when she’s playing bc I mean— no one hears the flutes
Wanted to main the picolo for the sole purpose that it’s an Ear Destroyer. Aizawa heard the mischief in her voice and said no.
Sight reading?? What’s that?? She has no idea what’s going on, she just pretends to play and when she’s comfortable with the melody, she’ll just step in. NEVER notices key changes and signatures.
Yuuga Aoyama:
LASKHDSJ FLAUTIST!! Also clarinetist. He loves being able to stay where he is during practice even though he changes instruments it’s sort of funny
His cheeks get SO SORE when he plays clarinet though and he WILL complain.
“My flute is so heavy!” Kind of guy.
Definitely has his own instruments and takes GREAT care of them.
Wetting his reed with his saliva?? No, he plops it in a glass of water instead (the reeds are definitely his own, and expensive)
Tsuyu Asui:
Trombone gang bro.
Positions are burnt into her brain dude she’ll never go out of tune.
SO SMOOTH. SOOOO SMOOO- dude she plays so well?? It’s never spitty, but during jazz (yes she’s in jazz), if it’s a moody piece she KNOWS how to make it juuussssttt airy enough to be beautiful
Not that good with fast songs, but she makes up for her amazing ass vibrato and her range. GOD-LIKE RANGE.
Mashirao Ojirou:
FRENCH HORN!!!
Omg he plays like a king. And he’s so proud of being the ONLY one playing French horn, but there is PRESSURE, because a French horn is rlly tricky to tune dude. Have you SEEN it??
Always keeps his mouthpiece with him, as if he’s afraid someone will play his instrument?? Like no dude it’s good in it’s case but you do you I guess
He doesn’t stand out that much, but in the majestic pieces where he has a 5 measure solo?? He gives it his all and he pulls it OFF. Those moments are always the highlight of the piece
Mezou Shouji:
Bass clarinet!!
Once he managed to growl through bass clarinet and literally ALL the saxophone players were jealous AS FUCK
Buddy goes to a low E♭ like it’s nothing?? And then he goes up to like a high high C and you’re sitting there like THE FUCKING RANGE-
His warmups are like, quick scales and arpeggios. Bro he’s so steady when he plays and he could play for HOURS. Sore cheeks?? Don’t know her.
He so proud of being a bass clarinetist, but when he saw an octobass clarinet?? Aizawa better order one of those for him RIGHT. NOW.
Fumikage Tokoyami:
Baritone saxophone. Also lowkey really wants to learn bassoon because it’s such an old instrument
SKSKS he and Shouji sit next to each other, Tokoyami loves to read off of Shouji’s partition and create the WORST fourths you’ll ever hear. Even Midoriya told them to shut the fuck up once
In jazz band too!! Still plays bari sax
Such,, a good,, sound. So,, meaty,, and full,, and HOT. Bari sax is HOT!!
Plays moanin’s intro as a warm up. Search up the song. It’s bomb.
He loves to figure out new sounds with his bari sax. The Too Many Zooz type of sounds
Hitoshi Shinsou:
PERCUSSIONIST. Especially loves the bells, timpani, vibraphone and marimba.
He’s in the back judging EVERYONE. It’s so great for him, he gets to stand there and cringe and no one will know
Totally able to play 4 mallets like the king he is
Surprisingly enough, he’s rlly good in music theory. Like he could probably compose or transpose something no problem
Aizawa’s favourite, of course. Will ask him to sit in front while they play and circle the parts where he thinks something sounds off
Now that we’ve talked about the NORMAL band kids, I present to you,,, the gremlin band kids
Mina Ashido:
Percussionist as well!! She loves snares but you’ll see her pick up castagnettes even if y’all are playing something like Gymnopédie no. 3 she’s a bit confused but she got the spirit.
CANNOT READ SHEET MUSIC. Like notes?? No. She can do beats, just not notes. Let Shinsou figure out the ancient languages dude
Her and Hagakure don’t warm up, they just gossip together.
Did this to Bakugou more than once
SHE DROPPED SO MUCH EQUIPMENT LIKE HOW DID SHE NOT BREAK ANYTHING YET??
Denki Kaminari:
TRUMPET.
Buddy AIMS to have his spit land on someone sitting in front of him (rip Todoroki and Uraraka)
Thinks he’s cool because he plays trumpet, but he always loses count. God forbid Iida cant show up to practice because Kaminari will die
“Where are we? What are we doing? Which piece are we doing? Where are we starting?” Oh my god he’s so lost can SOMEONE please help him
Always gets in trouble during band camps dude. He and Sero are the Bad Brass duo
Eijirou Kirishima:
EUPHONIUM BABEY!! He thinks it’s so cool and he’ll get so insulted if someone calls it a “mini tuba”
DONT GIVE HIM SHEET MUSIC IN BASS CLEF HE HATES IT PLS JUST TREBLE CLEF
So!! Protective of his euphonium. His name is Johnny, by the way. He named his instrument.
When they finish practicing a piece, he’s the first to give feedback. Usually it’s good, like praises for classmates he heard and thought were really good!!
He’s so sweet. Willing to help others during practice and sectionals too!! It’s so sad that he’s literally on the other side of the room bc KAMINARI NEEDS HIS HELP-
Katsuki Bakugou:
Hehehe he’s a flautist. I’ve stood by this headcanon for like two years.
And he wants to be THE BEST. You never knew growling could be done through a flute until you met Bakugou.
CANNOT STAND slow pieces. He wants to go all out all the time, he always speeds up when the tempo’s slow.
Also in jazz band with what? Flute. Yeah, this is George Benson Time.
Will hit you with his flute if you ever think badly of him for playing flute. He’ll defend flute ‘till he dies.
Hanta Sero:
TROMBONIST!!! TROMBONE BABEY.
Will be so happy if he’s in charge of bass trombone?? Like yay??
Always wants to hit Bakugou’s head while playing.
Bro his playing style?? You know the like, lazy-ish trombone playing? But it’s just so full and smooth and heavy anyways? That type of shit.
In jazz band, he’s actually a natural at jazz, doesn’t practice that much so he’s like not even in a good position, buddy just slouches and sight reads.
I love Hanta sm guys I could talk abt trombonist!Hanta forever

Previous Chapter | Chapter Twenty Two | Next Chapter
It had been a week since Harper had arrived in Japan. That week had been the best week of Bakugou’s life. Or at least that’s what he felt at the moment.
Bakugou sat on the couch watching Harper make her cup of coffee. As she stirred the drink with a spoon she did an excited little dance as she did he realized just how far gone he was as he smiled widely at her actions.
Sure, he had accepted how deep his feelings were for her but he wasn’t planning on saying it out loud any time soon. It wasn’t that he was sure about how he felt but even with how well he felt things were going he was still scared that she didn’t feel the same way. He couldn’t imagine anything more embarrassing than putting his feelings on the table only for her to not return them.
It was easy for him to get caught up in what their future would look like but he constantly told himself to take things one step at a time. For now, she was going to stay here longer and that was good enough for now.
Harper returned to the couch, sitting down next to Bakugou, he placed his arm around her as she did.
“I just have to answer some work emails then I’m all yours.” She said resting her head against his shoulder as she pulled her phone out.
Last night Midoriya had texted him about a group of their friends getting together to go to the beach. His initial reaction was to say no. He would prefer to spend the day alone with Harper but more than that he was worried to introduce her to all his childhood friends at once. He knew it would be overwhelming and didn’t want to put her through that.
At the same time, he also did want them to meet, even if he knew his friends were sure to embarrass him in front of her. But he wanted her to be a part of his life and this was a good way to start. He finally decided to leave it up to her.
“I was wondering if you’d like to go to the beach today?” He asked.
“Oh, you’re not surprising me this time?” She teased, looking up from her phone.
“Midoriya invited us, a lot of my high school friends will be there. I wanted you to have a choice. I didn’t just want to throw you into it.” He explained.
“That’s very sweet of you.” She said pressing a kiss against his cheek. “I would really like to meet your friends. Are Mina and Jirou going?”
“Yeah, I think so.” He said. “Did you bring a bathing suit or do we need to get one?”
“I brought one, I kind of over-packed but in hindsight that wasn’t a bad thing.” She laughed.
“Let me make you breakfast before we get ready.” He said, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
“How can I say no to that.” She said with a big smile, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. Bakugou’s heart skipped a beat.
Bakugou quickly made breakfast for both of them before getting ready. He made sure to pack a back with sunscreen and towels as well as grab an umbrella and chairs.
He was finishing packing some drinks and snacks when Harper walked out of his bedroom dressed in a pair of shorts and a tank top.
They arrived at the beach, the sun was bright in the sky and the weather was perfect for swimming. Harper was nervous, she would admit it. For one, they were all impressive pro heroes but more importantly, they were Bakugou’s friends. Even if he played it off that they weren’t super close she knew they meant a lot to him.
“Are Suki and Kirishima going to be here?” She asked.
“Yeah, they rarely miss anything where we all get together.” He said, pulling their bags out of the car. Harper tried to reach for one before Bakugou pulled it away giving her a look. She should have known better that he wouldn’t let her carry anything. She put her own bag over her shoulder refusing to let him take it for her.
It was a funny sight looking at him carrying all of their stuff at one. The bags over his shoulder, chairs in hand, and umbrella balanced somewhere in there and yet he still left his hand open to hold hers.
“If it’s too much we can leave whenever.” He said squeezing her hand reassuringly.
“Thank you, I appreciate it.” She said looking up at him with a big smile.
It was easy to spot the group even with only knowing a few of them. There was a large group, they had umbrellas, towels and chairs set up all over. As they approached them all Harper started to feel even more nervous.
“Harper!” A familiar voice shouted. She looked over to see Mina waving at them excitedly. Harper and Bakugou approached and Mina gave Harper a hug before going to hug Bakugou. “I’m surprised you guys came, I was sure Bakugou would want to keep you to himself.”
Bakugou gave her a look and Harper laughed.
“I’m glad we came, I’m excited to meet everyone.” She said.
“Hey, guys!” Kirishima said as he and Suki approached. They both gave them hugs as well.
“I’m so hurt that you got to meet her before I did.” Harper heard from a blond man as he approached with Jirou beside him. He had yellow eyes and a black stripe that almost resembled a lightning bolt in his hair. She recognized him from the news the other day.
“Hey, Harper.” Jirou greeted. “It’s good to see you again. This is my boyfriend Denki.”
“Not just your boyfriend but one of Bakugou’s best friends.” He defended. “Not that I’m not absolutely overjoyed to be your boyfriend.” He said giving Jirou a charming smile.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Harper said bowing.
“Hey, I don’t want to be left out!” A man with black hair said. He had a wide grin and odd elbows. “I’m Sero, it’s nice to finally meet you. You’ve been quite the subject among us all.”
“Oh boy, hopefully only good things,” Harper said with a nervous laugh. She understood that it was only expected to be talked about, her own friends talked about Bakugou quite a lot.
“It’s not been anything negative.” Mina jumped in. “Everyone has just been excited to meet you.”
“I’m glad it’s mutual.” Harper laughed.
“We’re going to play some volleyball if you want to join. We need one more for the girl's team.” Jirou mentioned.
“Oh, I love volleyball. I’d like to play.” She replied excitedly.
“Perfect, I’ll introduce you to the rest of the girls.” She said grabbing Harper by the hand. Harper spared Bakugou a look before being dragged away. He looked concerned but she gave him a reassuring smile to let him know she didn’t mind.
“Okay, you know Jirou and Suki of course. This is Momo,” She said pointing the woman with her black hair in a ponytail. She looked so elegant.
“Asui,” She said.
“My friends call me Tsu.” The green hair woman said. She had big eyes and almost resembled a frog.
“And Uraraka, or Midoriya now,” Mina said with a laugh at her slip up.
“You’re married to Deku?” Harper asked. The brunette blushed.
“Yeah, it’s been over a year now.” She said sheepishly. “Have you met him yet?”
“Oh, no not yet. I’ve heard about him quite a bit. Is he here?” She asked. Harper was quite interested to meet Midoriya. She had heard so much about him both from her own friend back in America and from Bakugou now.
“We forgot to bring ice so he went to go get some, he should be back pretty quick.” She explained.
“Alright, let’s head over to the net,” Mina said. Harper’s gaze followed to the net that wasn’t too far from where they had set up everything.
“Are you going to play?” Harper asked as she walked beside Suki.
“Oh no, honestly I can’t keep up with all these heroes.” She laughed. Harper gave her a serious look.
“Am I about to make a fool out of myself?” She asked.
“Maybe?” Suki said trying not to laugh at her sudden seriousness. “Depends on how good you are at volleyball.”
“What have I gotten myself into.” Harper sighed.
They got to the sandy court and the guys were there and ready to play. On the other team, there was Bakugou, Sero, Denki, and Kirishima that she knew. There was also Iida, a tall dark blue-haired man and Tokoyami who had a bird head and a quirk called Dark Shadow that was a sentient bird shadow that was a part of him. Nothing out of the ordinary. She had also seen him on the news.
Harper tried her best not to stare at Bakugou as he pulled off his shirt and tossed it to the side before getting into place for the game. He said something to Sero that she couldn’t hear.
The game began and it was easy for Harper to understand why Suki sits these games out. The speed and power that they casually played at was far above anything Harper could accomplish. The ball darted back and forth far quicker than she could keep up with. She tried following it along but it usually was gone before she could do anything.
It was also hard to focus on the game when she couldn’t keep her eyes off of Bakugou. The way that he jumped for the ball spiking it into the sand. The way his muscles flexed as he effortlessly moved. That determined look in his eyes as he watched everyone before deciding his next move. She almost didn’t mind that it was a point against them when he did it.
“Harper!” Mina shouted, setting the ball in her direction. It headed toward her at a normal speed for once. She was able to run up and hit the ball over the net. The ball headed in Bakugou’s direction. His gaze moved from Harper and to the ball. He hesitated before going for the ball but it slipped past him.
Harper shot Bakugou a look. There was no way he couldn’t have hit that ball.
“Oh my god, he really is going soft.” Denki said.
“Shut up, extra.” He shouted over at his friend.
“I’ve never seen Bakugou let anyone win anything on purpose.” Sero chimed in.
“They’re gonna get themselves killed.” Jirou said indifferently.
“Never stopped them before.” Mina laughed.
Bakugou walked over to them but Kirishima was quick to intervene, holding him back.
“Wow, guys. Let’s get back to this game so we can break out the snacks once it’s over.” Kirishima reasoned.
Bakugou let it go, looking over to Harper. She gave him an amused look. Bakugou smiled back. She saw Denki open his mouth but Tokoyami was quick to slap his hand over his mouth to stop whatever comment was about to come out.
The game went on, even with Harper not able to help out very much the girls stayed nearly tied to the boys. It felt like the last play of the game lasted forever. Both sides were pushing to win. The ball went back and forth for the longest time.
The ball was about to hit the sand on the girl's side when Harper dove for it. She pretty much went face-first into the sand but she was able to hit it up just enough for Tsu to jump up and spike it onto the boy's side.
The girls cheered. Mina and Jirou helped Harper up from the ground.
“Harper you’re amazing.” Ochaco said approaching her as Harper dusted the sand off of herself. She was going to feel that tomorrow but it was worth it to not be the most useless person on the team.
“I’m glad I was able to do something.” She laughed. “I didn’t realize just how out of my league I was.”
“As long as you had a good time, that’s all that matters.” Tsu said.
After they finished up they broke out the snacks as Kirishima promised. Harper got to meet Shoji, Aoyama, Ojiro, Sato, and Koda as they arrived. They were all so nice.
Bakugou stayed close to Harper’s side, almost always having a hand on her whether they were holding hands or he had his arm around her shoulder. It was nice, getting to meet everyone and laugh with them. She would sneak looks at Bakugou when he wasn’t looking at her and see how content and happy he looked around his friends.
“You’re finally back.” Ochaco said Harper looked to where she was walking over to only to see a tall green-haired man. That must be Midoriya, she thought. He had bright green eyes and freckles across his cheeks. He was both an intimidating figure and very soft at the same time.
“Sorry, I got caught up with some work on the way back.” He said sheepishly.
“Of course you did.” She said with a laugh.
“Look who I found on the way here.” He said gesturing to the two men with him. One had purple hair and the other had white hair on one side and red hair on the other along with a scar on one side of his face.
“I got lost.” The one with the split hair said.
“I found him lost on my way here.” The purple-haired one said.
“Of course you did.” Bakugou scoffed. “That’s Midoriya, Shinsou, and Todoroki.” He said pointing to them respectively.
“It’s nice to meet you all.” Harper said with a smile.
They all said hello to her before splitting off to different areas. Midoriya took his ice to a cooler before making his way back to Bakugou and Harper.
“Kaachan! It’s good to see you. How are you feeling?” He asked giving him a big smile. Harper looked over to Bakugou giving him a look at the nickname. He gave her a look back that said don’t touch it. She smirked.
“I’m fine, don’t worry about it.” He replied.
“You must be Harper. I’m really happy to get to meet you.” He said with a bright smile.
“Same here, I’ve heard a lot about you,” Harper said. “In fact, one of my close friends in America is a really big fan. She’s actually a pro hero, she’s not in the top ten or anything but she’s awesome.”
Midoriya’s face lit up. He asked about her friend and her quirk. Harper gladly explained everything, it took her off guard that he was so genuinely interested.
“Do you have a quirk?” He asked.
“Yeah, I can control plants. Not very much but it comes in handy for keep houseplants alive.” She laughed.
“Wow, that’s an awesome quirk!” He said. She wasn’t expecting him to be so impressed by her quirk and it didn’t seem like he was just trying to be nice.
“Can you control any plants? Is it only small plants or can you control trees or any organic material? How can you control them? Can you move them or is it only their growth?” Midoriya rambled out what felt like a million questions. It was overwhelming she wasn’t sure where to start.
“Cut it out, nerd.” Bakugou interrupted. “That’s too many questions.”
“Oh, I’m sorry!” He apologized. “I get a little carried away.”
“That’s an understatement.” Bakugou scoffed.
“It’s okay.” Harper said.
The three of them ended up sitting down under some shade as Harper explained her quirk to Midoriya. His genuine interest was flattering. This was the number one pro hero in Japan and he was interested in her quirk that in her own opinion was barely capable of taking care of a garden. Granted, it did help her when she was kidnapped so she supposed she couldn’t bash it too much.
“Bakugou, can you help us before Kirishima burns all the food?” Suki called out to him. She was standing next to Kirishima who was standing in front of a grill that currently had more fire in it than looked necessary.
“I’ll be back.” He said to Harper giving her a soft look before getting up.
“No worries.” She replied.
“He really cares about you.” Midoriya said when Bakugou was out of ear’s range. Harper looked over at Midoriya.
“I really care about him too.” She said with a smile.
“Kaachan has been through a lot, he’s grown a lot. He’s an amazing hero, an amazing person.” He said. “He deserves an amazing person.”
“I agree.” She said. “I hope I can be that person for him.”
Midoriya smiled at you.
“I know I don’t know you very well but I have a good feeling about you.” He said. “Kaachan mentioned you're an author.”
“Yeah, I write under the name Harper Hawthorne.” She explained.
“Really? Ochaco loves your books. She made me read them when we first started dating.” He said. “We can’t wait for the next book.”
“You guys like them?” She said with a laugh. Who would have thought that the number one hero had read her books? “Well, then I’ll have to hook you guys up with it before it’s out.”
“If you could not tell Ochaco that would amazing. Our anniversary is coming up and that would be the perfect gift.” He pleaded.
“On one condition,” She said with a smirk. “My friend’s a big fan and it would make her life if you could send her a little video saying hello.”
“Of course.” He said happily. “I can get her some merch too if she wants. I’ll even sign it.”
“She would love that!”
“You two are really excited about something.” Bakugou said as he returned.
“We’re just bonding.” Harper said.
“Great.” His tone was dry but she could tell he was happy that they were getting along. “C’mon, let’s go in the water.”
Before she could protest Bakugou was pulling her up and dragging her towards the water.
The water was beautiful, a clear blue against the white sands it was picture perfect. Harper hadn’t seen a part of Japan she hadn’t liked yet. The water rose and crashed against the shore.
Harper wasn’t one for the beach, normally. The waves made her nervous and she had never been a strong swimmer. The few times she had beach days with her friends she always stayed far away from the water and stuck to getting a nice tan or helping her friends prepare food.
But she didn’t want to stop Bakugou and the thought of breaking off from everyone sounded nice. She was enjoying getting time to meet all of his friends but it was overwhelming.
Before they got too close she stopped to pull off the clothes that had been covering her bathing suit. Bakugou had already been in his swim trunks without a shirt.
Looking up she caught Bakugou staring, he looked away quickly with red cheeks.
“You’re allowed to look.” She teased. Bakugou looked back but his blush didn’t lessen.
He walked into the water and Harper followed. It was cool against her skin, a nice relief from the heat of the sun that felt endless. Bakugou continued further in but she hesitated when the water reached her knees.
“Are you coming?” He asked when he noticed her falling back.
“I- uh,” She hesitated. It felt childish, stupid even to be scared of the water. Bakugou was so strong, fearless there was no way her fear wouldn’t be seen as foolish. Instead of answering she caught up with him, the water now at her waist. She could feel her anxiety raise but she pushed it down. It’s fine, she thought.
“When I was little my family would always come to the beach.” He said as he watched the waves move. The water would move past them, crashing onto the sand behind them. “My dad would take me out into the water, he taught me how to hold my breath and swim under the waves before the crashed. It became a game for me.”
Harper smiled at the fond look on his face.
“I never liked being in water that much, it makes it harder for my quirk to activate but I always loved our beach trips.” He said.
“That sounds really nice.” She said. “My family didn’t go to the beach very often. We lived pretty inland, we would go to the lake or a river.”
She left out the part where she always avoided going too far in so she wouldn’t have to swim.
It seemed that life didn’t care for her hiding of important facts about herself, that or it simply didn’t care for her in general. Before she could reminisce more about her family’s summer activities a big wave swelled up.
Before she could do anything it was crashing down on her. Harper froze, closing her eyes and waiting for the impact to sweep her away. The water rushed over her, she hadn’t been able to hold her breath in time but an arm wrapped securely around her waist keeping her from tumbling with the wave.
As the water settled she coughed out the water that made it into her lungs. Opening her eyes she saw Bakugou looking at her concerned. He picked her up carrying her out of the water with hast before setting her down on the wet sand out of the path of the waves.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yeah,” Harper said still coughing. “I’m okay, I’m okay. I’m just not that good with water.”
“Why didn’t you say something we didn’t have to go in.” He said.
“I know, I just didn’t want to be a wet blanket.” She sighed.
“You drowning would be more of a wet blanket than wanting to stay out of the water.” He scolded. “What if I hadn’t grabbed you in time?”
“I mean I wanted to get in the water too, I just didn’t expect that wave to come out of nowhere.” She said.
Bakugou sighed, glancing out to the water. The sun was getting low in the sky and the sky was beginning to turn shades of pink and purple.
“If you told me I could have helped you more.” He said.
“Maybe we can try again, without the almost drowning this time.” She offered.
“Okay, just stay close to me and follow my lead.” He said.
Bakugou took her by the hand leading her out to the water. He leaned down for a moment in front of her hoping she’d understand what he was asking without him saying. Harper hesitated a moment before realizing it. She wrapped her arms around his neck, trying her best not to choke him, and she used her legs to keep herself from falling off his back. He easily stood up, walking further into the water. He made sure to time it right so they weren’t hit by any big waves.
He was quick and efficient as he swam just far out enough that the waves would break after them. He grabbed Harper’s arms, signaling her to let go so he could turn around to face her. He made sure he kept his hands on her so she didn’t feel like she would float away.
“Good?” He asked.
“Good.” She smiled back at him.
The sky was stunning, the motion of the waves bobbing them up and down gently was relaxing. He pulled her closer to her, one arm wrapped around her waist the other brushing her wet hair out of her face.
“It’s beautiful.” She said glancing at the sunset.
“It is.” He agreed.
“This is perfect, thank you.” Harper said, wrapping one arm around his neck. It was so easy floating in the water, keeping her close so she would feel safe. He felt honored that she felt safe enough with him to be able to enjoy this.
Bakugou didn’t answer but pressed a kiss against her lips. He had never considered himself a romantic man but Harper changed that. Or maybe she was simply the key to unlocking all of this softness he had locked away. She made him want to be a better man, not just in their relationship but in every way.
He pulled away breathless, staring into her eyes. He loved her so much but he wasn’t ready to say it out loud. Not yet.
It was nice to be able to hold each other and float in the gentle waves and watch the sun sink lower in the sky as the colors changed every moment.
“Bakugou! Harper!” Denki shouted from the shore. “Food’s ready!”
Bakugou let out a huff.
“Are you hungry?” He asked.
“As much as I’d love to stay out here, yes I am.” She answered.
Bakugou motioned for her to hang onto his back again and he made his way out of the water safely. He put her down once they were back on solid ground but he didn’t let go of her hand as they returned to where their friends were gathered on the beach.
It was nice to see his friend accepting Harper and it was nice to see her getting along with everyone. He knew it had to be overwhelming for her but she handled it so well. He was thankful that his friends were welcoming, granted if anyone gave her any attitude it would be the last thing they’d do.
A part of him wondered if she would be happy living here, with him. He knew that it wouldn’t be easy leaving behind everything that she knew, that she was comfortable with. But she got along with his friends, he could easily see her as a permanent part of his life here in Japan.
He shook his head. He couldn’t ask her to leave behind everything she knew, leave behind the friends she cared for so much. He wouldn’t ask her. He shouldn’t even be thinking about it right now, he should enjoy the extended time he had with her.
His friends had prepared food and had it set out on the table under the sunshade.
“Dig in guys.” Kirishima said gesturing to all the food.
They didn’t hesitate, grabbing plates and grabbing the food that they wanted. He waited back with Harper for most everyone to get their food.
“What do you want?” He asked her as he grabbed a plate.
“Oh, I’m not sure. I can get it myself.” She said reaching for the plate in his hand but he pulled it back.
“I got it.” He said.
Harper threw her arms up in surrender.
“Okay, whatever you say.” She said with a slight smirk.
Once he got both of them food he sat down near Kirishima and Suki, knowing that Harper was the most comfortable with them.
Midoriya and Ochaco were sitting nearby along with Mina and Sero. The group talked about different things. Bakugou was glad that they included Harper and she easily cracked jokes and fit in with the conversation.
As it got darker they started a bonfire easily thanks to Todoroki’s quirk and they all gathered around sitting down.
Bakugou sat on a towel, Harper resting between his legs and leaning back into his chest. He had been mindlessly playing with her hair as he watched the fire move and dance, listening to the conversation around them. That lead to Harper falling asleep in his arms.
“I really like her, she’s a nice girl, Bakugou.” Midoriya said from beside him. “I’m glad that you found someone.”
At times it was hard not to fall into old habits with Midoriya. Even now, after all this time and progress he made he still wanted to shoot a rude comment at the green-haired man. It didn’t help that his relationship was a touchy subject. Not that that meant anything bad, but it was still a tender thing opening his heart and his life to someone else. Much less having people comment on it.
“Thanks.” He said finally, using his self-control.
“Maybe sometime we can go on a double date!” He suggested.
Bakugou didn’t have that much self-control.
“Okay, beat it nerd.” He snapped.
Midoriya laughed at the comment, undisturbed.
“Really, I think it’d be fun.” He said. “Besides I owe her some signed merch for her friend. She’s hooking me up with a copy of her new book before release.”
Bakugou scowled at that. He was the first to read her book before anyone else, he didn’t like the thought of Midoriya getting his hands on a copy. Granted it wouldn’t be long before the whole world read it but he liked feeling special. His reasoning voice kicked in and offered that he would always be the most special since he was the first one to read it.
“Fine.” He grumbled. “We’ll set something up.”
“I can’t wait.” Midoriya smiled.
Bakugou spent more time around the fire chatting with his friends, but not so loudly that he’d wake Harper from her peaceful sleep.
As much as he hated to admit it, with Harper in his arms and being surrounded by his close friends his heart felt full.
He wished that the rest of his life could be like this but even though their relationship was firm so far they had so much to work for before they could feel secure in their future.
It hadn’t been long since they started dating officially but he couldn’t stand the thought of losing her. He couldn’t stand the thought of spending another moment without her.
Whatever they face, they would get through it. He promised that not only to himself but to Harper.
We’ll make it through.

Chapter 4
Masterlist
The three friends gaped at the crowd around the UA campus, it was only the third day of school and already news reporters were circling the school gates.
‘Excuse me! You three there!’ a reported yelled as the students were noticed by the group ‘What’s it like being All Might’s pupils?’ Voices converged into one as more reporters hounded them for comments.
‘Come on guys, here.’ Kirishima put his arms around the two girls to the side of him, dragging them forcefully through the crowd, ‘He’s a great teacher, we’re really learning a lot from him!’ He shouted in the hopes of calming the crowd down, he succeeded partially, allowing the three to finally rush through the gates.
‘Oh my god that was crazy!’ Ichirou gasped, ‘I didn’t realise people would be so interested in All Might being a teacher!’
‘I mean, I guess it is pretty cool since he’s the number one hero,’ Kirishima said, looking back at the still restless crowd,
‘I hope they don’t use those pictures, you messed up my damn hair Kiri!’ Mina cried out as she tried to flatten the now frizzy mess,
‘Sorry Mina, I didn’t mean to- just wanted to protect you that’s all.’ Kirishima apologised,
‘Spoken like a true hero.’ Ichirou said, ‘I’m sure they wont use the pictures though, they’ll probably want some more candid photos.’ Mina smiled at her, slightly reassured.
‘Lets get on with home room notices…’ Mr Aizawa said calmly, ‘I’m sorry to have to spring this on you all, but we need to pick a class president.’
A ripple of excitement rolled over the class, finally they were going to be doing something school like!!
‘I wanna be class president!’ Kirishima cried out,
‘I love leader positions- Ill do it!’ Mina challenged
‘I wanna do it too!’ The girl in front of Ichirou said, almost everyone had raised their hands, Ichirou included, excited for the opportunity to prove themselves at UA.
‘BE QUIET!!’ A loud, commanding voice caused everyone to turn to the back of the room, Tenya Iida began to speak, ‘This is a task laden with responsibility where you must carry and pull everyone else’s weight! Just because you’d like to do it doesn’t mean you can!’ The tall boy had a point but he seemed to be taking the entire thing way to seriously, ‘It is a holy office that requires the great esteem and trust of those around you…! The only truly worthy leader will emerge from a democratic choice reflecting the will of the people! It must be settled with a vote!
‘But everyone will just vote for themselves!’ Kirishima shouted back,
‘Which is why the person who does earn multiple votes will be the truly appropriate person for the job, no?!’ Iida explained, Ichirou understood exactly what he meant, and placed a hand on Kirishima’s shoulder in warning.
In the end, almost everybody voted for themselves, and Ichirou wasn’t innocent. It was true that she didn’t really know anyone well enough yet to assume that they would be a good leader, though she was pleased that Momo had won vice-president, but she had also wanted to see if she could have won.
Midoriya stood at the class next to the taller girl, nervously shaking as he excepted his place as class president, ‘So then its president Midoriya and vice-president Yaoyorozu.’ Aizawa confirmed, stepping out of his sleeping bag.
The lunch rush cafeteria was just as amazing as usual; Ichirou and Mina took their seats with the boys at an empty table.
‘I’ve been talking to Asui quite a lot, she’s the frog girl who sits behind me,’ Mina explained to Ichirou, ‘I think she’s really nice, told me to call her Tsu- so I guess that means we’re friends!’,
‘That’s great, you’ll have to introduce me,’ Ichirou smiled at her friend as the two tucked into their noodles, ‘Sometimes Jirou turns round to chat to me, she so cool- her dad was in a band or something like that.’
‘She sounds awesome, there’s so many cool people in our class! I don’t even have a backstory.’ Mina sulked,
‘What do you mean you don’t have a backstory, you weirdo.’ Ichirou questioned,
‘Well, Kiri dyed his hair, and you don’t have a dad-‘ Mina started,
‘Hey, those jokes are only funny if I do them.’ Ichirou jokingly narrowed her eyes at the girl,
‘Whatever,’ Mina stuck her tongue out at her,
‘Besides, you saved those girls from that villain, that’s backstory.’ Ichirou motioned with her fork,
‘Don’t remind me of that! It’s so scary to think of!’ Mina covered her eyes, shaking her head,
‘Sorry Pinky, but you were so brave!’ Ichirou nudged the girl next to her,
‘Move up.’ Ichirou looked up at the recognisably gruff voice above her, her eyes met with Bakugou’s stern face. The girl smiled, sliding along the bench to allow the boy to sit next to her.
‘Baku-bro!’ Kirishima said, ‘Didn’t expect you to actually come sit with us!’
‘Don’t make a big deal of it shitty-hair.’ Bakugou replied, sending a glare in Kirishima’s direction, the boy put his hands up in surrender, Denki and Sero’s eyes widened,
‘Hey we got the same meal!’ Ichirou exclaimed as she saw Bakugou begin eating his noodles, ‘Mina got it too.’ She added, becoming nervous as Bakugou didn’t reply,
‘They’re pretty good.’ The boy mumbled as he finished his dish quickly, holy shit he eats fast- Ichirou thought to herself, turning to Mina who was wiggling her eyebrows suggestively back at Ichirou who faked puking to save face.
Suddenly, a loud blaring noise rang out through the cafeteria, ‘SECURITY LEVEL 3 HAS BEEN BREACHED. STUDENTS, PLEASE PROMPTLY EVACUATE.’
‘Evacuate!’ Denki exclaimed as the group left their seats, joining the crowd of teenagers trying to get to the school safety points,
‘It means someone’s infiltrated the school grounds!’ A voice shouted over the crowd, whipping the students into an even bigger frenzy. Ichirou was jostled into a wall by her upperclassmen as they raced to the door, finding it difficult to see her friends thanks to the tall 3rd years,
‘Mina! Kiri, where are you?’ She cried out, becoming stressed at the chaos of the situation as she was pushed into the wall again, face first this time. She had no clue what was going on. Her ears were ringing with the crescendo of voices and her tail was hidden between her legs in fear. Overwhelmed, she turned again, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mina’s pink hair, instead she was met by another wall.
‘Watch yourself, runt.’ Ichirou looked up to see Bakugou standing above her, ‘listen, this is those damn reporters, alright? Don’t go running around like a damn idiot.’
‘O-okay.’ Ichirou mumbled, dangerously aware of how close the two were, she was practically trapped by his strong chest,
‘The hells up with your damn ears?’ The boy questioned abruptly, noticing the way they twitched, moving independently in all directions,
‘Um, its just loud.’ Ichirou answered, her tail wiggling from side to side as she felt her entire body heat up,
‘Huh.’ Bakugou grunted, before promptly flattening the girls ears with his hands, dulling the sound and pulling her even closer to him. Ichirou’s eyes went wide at the sudden intrusion, the sensitivity of her ears causing the speed of her tail to increase rapidly, thrashing from side to side as she gripped the boys forearm.
Ichirou wasn’t sure how much time passed in this position, but she was soon taken out of her trance as Bakugou lifted his hands from her ears.
‘Its over.’ He stated, the somewhat dazed girl lifted her head from where she had burrowed into his front, she looked around noticing Iida being helped down from a doorway? How he’d got there she didn’t know- ‘He jumped.’ Bakugou stated as he took a step back from the girl, Ichirou nodded in acknowledgement as her arm dropped back to her side. Bakugou nodded back before sticking his hands in his pockets and turning to walk away.
‘For the foundational skill of heroics we’ll study today,’ Aizawa started as his class calmed down, ‘It was decided you’ll be supervised by a three-man team comprising of me, All Might and somebody else.’ Decided? Ichirou thought to herself, what were they going to be doing that needed three teachers?
‘Be the hero everyone need, whether it’s a flood or any other disaster’ The teacher dramatically revealed the activity, ‘It’s the trail of rescue!!’ Ichirou’s face broke into a smile, thanks to her wolf traits, rescue was surely going to be a strong point of hers.
‘Trail of rescue… sounds a bit difficult this time round…’ Kaminari pondered,
‘Cmon, dumbass, that’s what a hero’s whole job is!! I’m chomping at the bit!!’ Kiri replied, almost jumping out of his chair in his excitement,
‘As I was saying,’ Aizawa continued, staring down the two boys, ‘This time, it’s entirely up to each of you whether or not you wear your costume. Some of your costumes probably aren’t adapted to the task at hand, after all. The training area is fairly far away, so we’ll get there by bus. That’s all.’
‘I cant believe we’re going on a school trip!’ Mina swung Ichirou and hers hands as the two girls walked to the bus,
‘Same! I wonder who the somebody else Sensei was talking about is.’ Ichirou nodded in agreement as they came to a stop,
‘In order to get everybody seated smoothly on the bus, file into two lines according to your numbers.’ Iida, the classes new president, shouted to the waiting students,
‘Damn it, we cant sit next to each other! Why’d Iida do that.’ Mina sulked,
‘I think he’s pretty good, besides we’re close to each other so don’t worry.’ The other girl reassured as they parted to find their space in line. Ichirou was one of the last on the bus, but she soon realised poor Iida’s system had failed, no one was sat in their right places,
‘Rou!! I saved you a seat!’ Mina called from one of the benches at the front of the bus and Ichirou soon found herself sat between her and Kaminari,
‘So it ended up being this kind of bus anyway!’ Iida said defeatedly as he sat next to Mina,
‘Yeah there was no poi-‘ the girl began,
‘I think you did really well organising it Iida!’ Ichirou interrupted, sending a glare to her friend,
‘Thank you, Sato.’ Iida replied, turning to the girl,
‘Oh, call me Ichirou, we already have a Sato in this class.’ She said smiling and giving the boy a thumbs up,
‘Alright, Sa- Ichirou.’ Iida nodded his appreciation before turning to talk to Midoriya, Ichirou turned to her friends, who seemed to be in the middle of a conversation,
‘I’m kinda jealous of that kind of simple enhancer type quirk, though! There a lot you can do with one, and flashily too!’ Kirishima complimented Midoriya, ‘My hardening power isn’t bad for punch-ups, but I hate that its just not that flashy.’
‘Well , I think its an awesome quirk! Definitely a quirk that’ll be great use to a pro!’ Ichirou smiled at Midoriya’s reassurance, she was beginning to really like the strange boy.
‘Besides, Kiri, you know heroics has a lot about it that’s more like a popularity contest too, right?? You’re so nice I’m sure you’ll do great!’ Ichirou chimed in,
‘Yeah, like everyone’s gonna love Ichirou bc she’s like a teddy bear!’ Mina patted the girls head, rubbing at her ears as Ichirou leaned into the touch,
‘If we’re talking the double whammy of flashy and strong, you can’t not mention Todoroki and Bakugou!’ Kirishima added, deflecting attention,
‘Bakugou’s always fuming, so he wont be very popular.’ Asui mentioned, offhandedly, clearly not realising what she was saying,
‘The hell did you say! I’ll be popular, too!!’ The boy exploded from behind them, gripping the rails in front of him.
‘It’s only been a brief while since our socialisation has commenced and yet already we have been made apodictically cognisant of your personality, redolent as it is of a turd getting steamed in a sewer.’ Kaminari pressed the boy to further anger, Ichirou smacked his arm as she stifled a laugh,
‘Huh?! What the hell kinda vocabulary is that?! Ill fucking kill you!!’ Bakugou was practically bending the railing in anger, face scrunched up in a terrifying, but almost cute, fit of rage,
‘Damn Bakugou, you are one fouled mouthed dude.’ Kaminari continued, despite the fear in his eyes, and Ichirou had half a mind to smack a hand over the boys mouth.
‘We’re almost there. Settle down already…’ Aizawa ordered, before Bakugou jumped the railing and attacked Kaminari,
Bakugou kept his eyes trained on the poor boy, eyebrows drawn in a scowl. Ichirou looked at him subconsciously, wondering how in the world the boy could get so angry, that is, until his eyes flickered onto hers. She raised an eyebrow, snapping out of her thoughts quickly, but the boy didn’t reply, instead deciding to turn away as he so often did when their eyes met.
Ichirou’s eyes lit up as she finally saw the wide expanse of simulations the class would be training with, she shared a look with Mina whose own eyes were wide- the place looked like an amusement park!
‘Is this USJ or something?!’ Ichirou heard behind her, she had heard of the place before when researching UA as a school,
‘This is a practical training area I created to simulate all kinds of accidents and disasters,’ A voice came from the right, causing the student to turn and meet the 3rd teacher they’d be working with- the space hero 13! ‘It’s name is… the Ultimate Space for Jams!!’ they finished as the class burst in excitement,
‘I cant believe its 13!!’ Mina grabbed Ichirou’s hand and gripped tightly, gasping at the thought of meeting another pro hero,
‘I know! And they’re going to be teaching us!’ Ichirou added, just as excited as her friend to be learning from such an amazing hero.
‘Before we begin, just a thing,,, or two,’ 13 started again as the chatter died down, ‘I’m certain you’re all already quite aware, my quirk is called ‘black hole’ no matter what material may get sucked into its vortex, I’m afraid it will turn into dust.’
‘That’s a quirk perfect for removing wreckage and saving people injured by disasters!’ Midoriya shouted out excitedly,
‘Yes… it is, however, a power that could also be easily used to kill people. And in that way, it’s no different from the quirks of everyone here.’ At those words, Ichirou felt herself tremble, remembering how long it took for her to get used to her claws, how she would wake up scratched and bloody from restless nights, how she cut her friends, teachers, her own mother. ‘Naturally, in this society of super humans, quirks are strictly regulated, and the requirements for their lawful use enforced. Now, this lesson will serve as a fresh start! Lets get to studying about how to wield our quirks for the sake of human life! That is all! You have my gratitude for listening so intently and patiently!’ 13 finished their speech with a bow and was met with a round of applause from the students, all empowered by the words.
‘All right, first things first…’ Aizawa began, seeming to be disturbed by something in the centre court, Ichirou couldn’t see very well, but there seemed to be a swirling black mass- by the looks of things it wasn’t part of the training course. ‘Huddle together and don’t move!’ He shouted back as figures began to emerge from the darkness, ‘13! Protect the students!’
‘Is this like that training pattern at the entrance exam? Kiri said as Ichirou backed into him,
‘I really don’t think so- sensei looks nervous.’ Ichirou turned to the boy, speaking quietly as to not alarm the others.
‘Don’t move!’ Aizawa shouted back to the huddled children as he fixed his goggles, ‘Those are villains!!’ Ichirou’s suspicions had been right, she stepped back in realisation that these were the people the pro hero’s battled- and they were coming for her class.
‘Rou, can you hear what’s going on?’ Kirishima asked as he wrapped a protective arm around the girl who nodded in return, training her focus on the centre of the chaos.
‘According to the teachers curriculum we procured yesterday, Mr All Might was supposed to be here…’ Ichirou’s ears twitched at the unexpected voice coming from inside the black hole,
‘They wanted All Might,’ She relayed, ‘and I’m fairly certain that the black mass is actually a person.’ Kirishima and some of those around her seemed almost relieved that they weren’t the target,
‘You can’t tell me All Might… the symbol of peace… isn’t here…’ a dry rasping voice consumed Ichirou’s sensitive ears, it was a voice she was certain would haunt her forever, ‘I wonder if he’ll show up if we kill the kids?’
Ichirou tensed- they needed to get out.
a/n : its getting spicy y’all ft. Bakugou’s tiddies :)

SCENARIO REQUEST: ❝buried in art.❞
Tumblr media
[ Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia ] [ Characters: Class 1-A ]
「You developed a habit of drawing in your sketchbook and often drew in the middle of the class. Aizawa catches you drawing in class and make you go up and share it with everyone.」
You didn't know when it started but before you realized it, you've completely turned into someone who's obsessed with drawing. At the very start, it was supposed to be a method to relieve stress but it soon changed into a hobby. When you're free, you would sit on your desk, drawing something. On the day your friends decided to go for a picnic, you were dragged to a spacious field with a huge carpet of grass and a few trees providing shade. The sky was blue and the weather was just right, the girls had decided to play some game while you sat under the shade, watching your friends run around while drawing the landscape.
You loved your classmates. They were all amazing people you came to appreciate, and they each had a special place in your heart. Maybe not Mineta that much, but it’s not like you wished the guy was dead, he just seriously needed to respect women and keep his fantasies to himself. You've been drawing a bit too much of landscape that you wanted a change of pace. It started with doodles of the girls since you have a lot of pictures taken together with them but you would just change up the style a bit. They had great style and dressed up in cute clothes. Slowly, you decided to draw some of the boys.
By now, you had at least drawn half of your classmates, your sketchbook was packed with various landscape drawings in the first half of your sketchbook and in the other half, there were doodles of your classmates. It wasn't that you're too shy to share it with your friends but they never seem to be bothered by the fact that you're always carrying around that book with you. Some managed to get a peek of what you're drawing from time to time but have never seen the end product.
As Aizawa went on and on about something during homeroom, you found yourself daydreaming a bit. The day before you were training your quirk and exercising in the gym, with everyone improving so vastly, you wanted to change to and decided to train all on your own. You looked down to see your sketchbook opened, a half-empty page greeting you. The occasional on taps from Todoroki who sat behind you kept you awake and you seriously have to thank him once class is over.
"[Last Name]."
The moment your teacher called your name, you were wide awake and alert, wondering why he suddenly called out to you. Maybe it was because you almost fell asleep 10 times? It has to be. Despite the anxiety swelling in your chest, you swallowed the saliva that pooled beneath your tongue and nervously gazed at your teacher.
"Yes, sir?" For a moment, you felt his gaze on you and you instinctively blinked, hoping that you were just imagining things. Aizawa's eyes were focused entirely on you and you couldn't help but think that you're in trouble now. You hoped that he would just tell you to go and wash your face to stay awake or remind you not to fall asleep and stay awake or something. By now, everyone had their attention on you.
"Is there something you want to share with us? Your face was practically buried in that sketchbook of yours."
"N-No! It's not like that, sensei!" you tried to wave it off with a smile, hoping that he would let you off.
"Get up here and share it with the class, maybe that way you won't be sleepy for the rest of my class." Aizawa said. With an exasperated groan and the realization that you can never win against your teacher, your grabbed your book and sauntered to the front of the class.
"Now that I think about it, what kind of stuff does [Last Name] draw anyway? She's always drawing something in her sketchbook." Kirishima muttered out loud.
"I've seen her draw some landscape, kero. But I've never seen the end product." Asui answered.
"Isn't it a bit exciting!?" Ashido quipped with a bright smile.
"It feels like we're back in elementary school doing show and tell." Sero said.
"It's nothing special, guys....." you mumbled with a small smile. Aizawa picked up the book you placed on the desk and flipped through the pages, his tired eyes quickly scanning over your sketches
"She says nothing special but I can't tell if she's being humble or not." he raised your book and showed everyone one of your most recent drawings. There was a moment of silence when your friends eyed your drawing closely.
"Amazing, [First Name]-chan! You drew all that!?" Ashido broke the silence, rising from her seat and skipping over to the front, leaning closer to the book being presented. Aizawa handed it over to the eccentric girl who shifted her gaze to you. One by one, your classmates began crowding you, flipping through the pages to find a drawing of themselves in different parts of your book. Aizawa stepped aside, muttering something about waking him up once this whole ordeal was over. In the midst of the chaos, you stood in the middle next to Ashido, overwhelmed by the attention. Even the ever so stoic Todoroki was next to you, eyes showing surprise when he stumbled over a drawing of himself.
"Ah, I'm there."
"You have the face of an ikemen! This is truly one of my favorite drawings of you! I hope I'm not creeping you out but you have such finessed features, and it felt like I'm redrawing a masterpiece by Van Gogh......" you muttered.
"I'm not that good looking." he replied casually.
"Please apologize to all the guys in UA." you pouted.
"Oh! I'm there too! You're a great artist, [Last Name]!" Kirishima pointed excitedly, slinging an arm around your shoulders.
"A-Ah, thank you!"
"I'm a bit embarrassed, you drew me in such pretty clothes that I can never afford.....!" Uraraka said, turning to you with a teary expression. Just how broke is she?
"You're a natural artist [Last Name], I find myself drawn to you." Kaminari wiggled his eyebrows while you laughed nervously, unsure of how to respond to that.
"Stop embarrassing yourself." Jirou huffed.
"How do I look? Did you get my charm point?" Aoyama peeked over Kirishima and Kaminari's shoulder to examine the drawings. They all had different reactions but none of them said anything negative which made you relieved. Midoriya was in tears, saying things about how he doesn't deserve that much respect from you but when you told him that he was an amazing person and that you admire his hardworking nature, his face turned red and he cried even harder.
"The detail in all the drawings are amazing! Not to mention,
"Yo, Bakugou, you should have a look!" Kirishima called over to the ash blonde who remained seated the entire time.
"Why should I?" Bakugou barked back, narrowing his eyes at the red-haired teen who just beamed back at him. Kaminari nudged Sero and whispered something into his ear. The black-haired male nodded and turned to Kirishima who was given instruction on whatever plan they were hatching. The red-haired male had nodded enthusiastically, a sign that he's in.
"Well then, suit yourself! I guess you don't want to see how [Last Name] draws you." Kirishima replied.
"Hah, just look at that. I can't believe you drew him like this, [Last Name]." Kaminari turned to you. Still unsure why they were talking like this, all you could do was tilt your head in confusion.
"Is this how you perceive Bakugou, [Last Name]? I guess it's a very accurate image." Sero turned towards you with a smirk on his face.
"Eh? Um, thanks?" you mumbled.
Bakugou rose from his seat, the sound startling you. He began making his way towards you and everyone immediately made way for the angry boy who was marching over with an irritated look on his face. They all dispersed, including the ones who deliberately provoked Bakugou into coming. You stood there dumbfound, stepping back when the ash-blonde moved closer to you. When your back hit the board, you gasped. The loud slam of his hand hitting the board beside your head made you squeak. Without saying a word, he snatched the book from your hands to see a drawing of himself. The guys had made it sound like you drew a monster but it was the complete opposite.
He looked so fucking cool.
"It's just okay." he told you before returning to his seat. He tried to play it off by acting like he doesn't care but he's actually pretty happy to see your drawing.
"Bakugou, are you perhaps blushing?" Sero teased.
"Shut your mouth, you extras!"

word count: 2.1k
summary: with second year beginning, you’re too sure what to expect. first year was a wild ride, but you have a feeling the second won't be any different, especially as feelings for a certain hothead begin to arise.
quirk: plant manipulation
...
spring.
you sat with bated breath as you rode the railway towards the coffee shop. it was a thirty minute ride from tsukauchi's apartment downtown, and you had left an extra forty five minutes early to avoid being late to meet your friends—you were exceptionally early to everything. your hands were shaking as you gripped them tight, a wave of anxiety rolling over with the thought of seeing everyone again.
they had all been busy over break, especially with their internships, so it seemed as though you hadn't seen your yuuei classmates for years.
you watched as the city passed by in a blur, your faint reflection in the window staring off. you idly twirled a lock of hair around your finger; your elbow propped on the window ledge, cheek resting on top. you had five more minutes before you reached the station.
you thought back to the previous year at yuuei and the craziness that ensued. from the first day; when you'd met iida, midoriya, and uraraka, choosing to walk to and from the station together, the mock battles and having bakugo cost you two the win, the sports festival where you hardly even made it to the second round in, befriending todoroki and helping him with his issues once he trusted you, dealing with bakugo's kidnapping over your break, even the provisional hero license exam. you'd grown a lot that year, and you wondered idly what second year would be like.
the train came to a stop, the intercom announcing the arrival at your destination. you sighed and grabbed your backpack, exiting the train and making way way downtown, walking fast, faces passing and only giving you a second glance due to your uniform.
the coffee shop had been a fifteen minute walk from the station, and you had arrived within about twenty minutes before you lot were scheduled to meet. so, you sat down at a spare table with just enough room for everyone and ordered yourself a peppermint tea and iida a green tea, unsure of what everyone else wanted.
you stared outside the window, casually playing with a small vine in your hand. you occasionally sipped your tea, but your thoughts remained elsewhere.
the five of you used to gather around the near-campus coffee shop daily, usually for studying or hanging out after a long day. it truly brought you all closer, and you could look to almost every single table and remember a different memory to go along with it. the time iida burned his tongue because he didn't wait for the tea to cool, when midoriya had knocked over a table and spilled food and drink onto everyone, todoroki trying to cool his drink down but accidentally froze it. even kirishima, ashido, and kaminari would join sometimes, bakugo usually choosing to pass.
 "(name)!"
you turned, snapping back to reality; midoriya and uraraka were making their way to your table, closely followed by iida and todoroki. you stood and smiled.
"hello, iida-san, midoriya-san, todoroki-san, uraraka-san," you gave each of them a small hug. "please, sit down. i didn't know what you guys wanted, so i only ordered my own tea and iida's green tea."
iida smiled gratefully, "thank you, (name)." he took a sip of the tea, almost dropping it as he burned his tongue again. "every time," he muttered in distress.
you laughed at him, "the waiter had just dropped it off, better let it cool."
"i hope you weren't waiting too long," todoroki said, glancing up from his menu.
you shrugged, "not too long, besides, todoroki-san, i'm early to everything, i'm always waiting." you turned to midoriya, "did you get to train with gran torino or toshinori over break?"
"huh? oh, yeah!" the boy grinned, "i've definitely gotten a better grip on my quirk, much different from last year's first few weeks."
"maybe you actually stand a chance in the sports festival this year," you replied. "i'd love to see you and todoroki-san fight again."
iida nodded, "i agree, that would be very interesting, seeing as you both have a better handle on your quirks and more training."
todoroki set down his menu, "not a bad idea. we'll just have to wait and see."
"i wonder how bakugo-san is doing," uraraka said, "if he'll win again this year. he definitely has gotten more powerful."
"true," midoriya agreed, "he's been taking laps around our neighborhood more often, early morning training, i think."
"what about you, (name)?" todoroki asked.
you looked up, "what about me? for the sports festival?"
uraraka nodded, "oh yeah, you weren't able to participate in the one-on-one battles last year. do you think you'll get there this year?"
you paled, "o-oh, i'm not too sure about that."
"but you have a powerful quirk!" midoriya shouted; he immediately regretted it as the group shushed him. "sorry."
"well, as much as i've been training, i still don't think it would be enough. if i were to be paired up with, let's say... bakugo-san, he could wipe me out in a matter of seconds," you said, eyes cast down. "i'm not really, uh, strong enough to compete with you guys."
todoroki snorted. “you were placed in the hero course for a reason.”
midoriya placed a hand on your shoulder, "we all saw you during the provisional license exam, you were amazing. kacchan is a fierce competitor, but just as you have your weaknesses, he has his."
uraraka nodded in agreement, "right! and you've definitely mastered your quirk a lot more, weren't you telling me you could make an entire wall of thorns now?"
"wait, you can make a wall of thorns?!" midoriya shuffled around his backpack and grabbed his analysis journal, jotting it down. "that's pretty useful, (name), you should be proud."
iida agreed with him, as well as todoroki.
you smiled, a small blush on your cheeks. "well, enough about me. what do you think this year is going to be like?"
you were thankful as you had successfully steered the attention away from yourself, and the five of you caught up with smaller things aside from your quirk. they had all finished up their teas and coffees almost twenty minutes ago, but you all continued to talk. uraraka and yourself had turned to a conversation between you about the dorm life, while midoriya, iida, and todoroki talked strategies. you paused for a moment, looking around you, a warm feeling spreading in your chest.
a year ago, you hadn't had any friends—you were a loner who prefered to keep to herself. but through a year of schooling and hardwork and stressful situations, the five of you had grown close. you never would have imagined yourself there, at the coffee shop, laughing as midoriya spilled coffee onto his uniform, or as iida reprimanded him for carelessness of the proud yuuei uniform, or todoroki watching with a slight smile on his face. you never would have imagined sleepovers in the dorm with uraraka and asui, staying up until iida scolded you three for being awake past bedtime hours.
 "(name)?"
 you blinked.
"ready for school? if we don't leave soon, we'll be late." midoriya said.
 "l-late?!"
and that was the fastest you had ever arrived to school, your friends struggling to keep up, save for iida.
the day had passed in a blur almost, most of it spent catching up with old classmates. your lessons had gotten a tad harder, but most of it was review from last year anyway. lunch passed by quickly as well, and it was time for basic hero training.
aizawa had announced that for the first day back, you would be conducting mock battles, just as you had in the beginning of last year.
"you and your opponent have been marked on the board," he said, "hurry into your costumes and meet at ground beta. we don't have all day."
you stared up at the board, struggling to find your name.
"(name), it looks like we're battling each other!" uraraka announced; she approached your desk with a smile.
"really?" you looked up at the board again and saw your name next to uraraka's. "oh, nice." i wonder how this will work out, you thought to yourself.
the class changed quickly into the gym uniforms, excited grins on everyone's faces.
"deku!" bakugo growled, "don't you dare hold back!"
 midoriya grinned, "i won't!"
kirishima and kaminari shared a similar exchange, jirou and asui, too.
"it's good you're all fired up, but be quiet," aizawa had approached the class. "your goal is to either capture your opponent or make them give up with little damage to the city as possible. we can't keep paying for the constant damage," no one missed his eyes flick over to bakugo and midoriya. "you have twenty minutes, the first to go will be (name) and uraraka. the rest of you, head to the monitor room while i escort these two to their battlegrounds."
the two of you followed aizawa to one of the streets of ground beta, telling you to position yourselves twenty feet away from each other.
"(name), uraraka," he called, "don't be scared to injure the other just because of friendship. this is to test how far your abilities have grown over the break. do not act irrationally."
you nodded, bracing yourself as a vine twirled around your index finger. uraraka placed herself into fighting position.
"the battle begins now," aizawa announced, stepping away from the pair and heading to the monitor room.
for a moment, you two didn't move; you were doing as you'd practiced over the summer, a new move you hadn't told uraraka about should this situation occur.
but your eyes widened as uraraka came charging, you raising your hands. you stopped, however, knowing that raising your wall of thorns would cause destruction to the streets, therefore nearly getting caught by uraraka's anti-gravity touch.
you swung around. the vine that had been around your finger had uncurled itself, darting out as it acted as a whip. you cursed to yourself as you missed, uraraka bringing her leg around before the vine could catch her and lifting herself into the air.
a tree off the corner of the street caught your eye, and you’d made a dash for it.
uraraka noticed and released herself, falling on top of you; her knee dug into your spine, the former beginning to apologize quickly.
"don't apologize," you grunted, the vine slithering behind uraraka.
the latter had seen the vine's shadow, rolling out of the way as you clambered back to your feet, back aching from where uraraka's knee came into contact.
you unleashed your vine again, thorns growing, sharp enough to cut through metal. you whipped it through the air, catching her leg as the girl clenched her jaw.
the vine slithered back to your palm, your face hard as you debated using the move you’d learned over break.
"ten minutes left, quit screwing around." the teacher's voice echoed.
you made a dash towards uraraka, the latter stumbling back in surprise. she braced herself for the fist that was raised her way, ready to counterattack, until you dropped at the last moment, uraraka's swing missing and causing her to lose balance. however, she still caught your ankle, as you began rising into the air.
your eyes widened, summoning the vine and wrapping it around uraraka's wrist, yanking yourself down as the vine continued to twist tightly around the brunette, down her arm and curling around her chest and waist.
the thorns had began to grow ever so slightly as the vine thickened, tightening and puncturing small holes into her body. uraraka released her quirk as she could no longer concentrate on keeping you off the ground, a hiss coming from her lips.
you dropped to your feet, barely catching yourself as you willed away the thorns—however, you hadn't released your grip of the vine.
uraraka's face was pinched with pain, and she was barely able to squeak out a surrender.
"uraraka surrenders, (name) wins."
you let go of your focus, the vine uncurling and slipping away into your palm. uraraka dropped to her knees as she struggled to catch her breath, a rib fractured and many puncture wounds causing blood to seep out onto her uniform.
"are you okay?" you dropped beside uraraka, slightly out of breath with your head pounding—there was one downside with your special move. with the constant tightening and having to produce a thicker vine, it took up quite a bit of stamina and it felt as though your own body was being squeezed as it drained your energy. you called the move balboa fittingly enough.
uraraka gave a weak nod, "that was...," she breathed in quickly in pain, "amazing, (name)."
"let me help you up," you stood, your own knees shaking, and you helped your friend to her feet.
you allowed yourself to be used as a crutch as you headed over to the monitor booth. aizawa had declared you the winner and excused you to take uraraka to recovery girl; even if you missed a match or two you knew midoriya would take notes for you.

Class 1-A in Hogwarts
Character: House, Wand core, Patronus, Favorite Subject, Pureblood/Half/Muggleborn
Yuga Aoyama:  Gryffindor, Veela hair, Persian Cat, Charms, Halfblood
Aoyama´s grandmother on his mother´s side is a Veela. She´s the one that provided his wand core. The veela blood is in him is pretty diluted meaning he doesn’t transform when angry and he can´t throw fire with his hands but he does inherit some of their mesmerizing aura and is remarkably good at charms.
Mina Ashido: Gryffindor, Dragon Heartstring, Crocodile, Flying, Halfblood
Mina is one of the best Chasers Gryffindor´s Quidditch team has had in years. She even became Captain in her later years. Her mother and Aoyama´s mother went to Hogwarts together and both ended up marrying muggles.
Tsuyu Asui: Slytherin, Phoenix Feather, Japanese Tree Frog, Potions, Pureblood
Asui´s wand is quite remarkable since it´s got Phoenix Feather and is among the most bendy of the wands there are. She´s a jack of all trades when it comes to magic doing well in all her classes though she doesn´t really stand out in any of them.
Tenya Iida: Hufflepuff, Phoenix Feather, Peregrine Falcon, Charms, Pureblood
He became Prefect of Hufflepuff as soon as he could and does the job impeccably. He´s from a renowned wizard family with his parents working for the Ministry and his brother being a well-known auror.
Ochaco Uraraka: Hufflepuff, Unicorn Tail Hair, Muskox, Defense against the Dark Arts, Muggleborn
Uraraka never really showed signs of magic talent but nevertheless received a letter from Hogwarts. She was almost certain that her going to that school had to be a mistake until the first time she made a feather levitate. She´s not as naturally gifted as some of the others so she generally has to try two to three times harder than everyone else. This led to her being very knowledgeable when it came to practice experience so if anyone is having a hard time understanding a certain subject, they usually turn to her.
Mashirao Ojiro: Hufflepuff, Unicorn Tail Hair, Kangaroo, Flying, Halfblood
Ojiro is the keeper on Hufflepuff´s Quidditch team. He was put in the team when he was in his first year because of his flying talent and great physical abilities and played his first match when he was in his second year. There have been scouts showing interest in him ever since.
Denki Kaminari: Gryffindor, Dragon Heartstring, Hedgehog, Flying, Halfblood
Kaminari is on the Quidditch team with Mina. He started out as a chaser but eventually found himself more suitable for being a beater. He´s among one of the top flyers at Hogwarts. Pretty much all his other grades are not really satisfactory though.
Eijiro Kirishima: Gryffindor, Unicorn Tail Hair, Armadillo, Transfiguration, Muggleborn
Despite being Muggleborn, Kirishima similar to Asui has become a jack of all trades doing fairly well in all subjects. His favorite is transfiguration simply because it poses the greatest challenge to him. Him and Bakugo are the living proof that Gryffindor and Slytherin get along.
Koji Koda: Hufflepuff, Horned Serpent Horn, Hare, Care of Magical Creatures, Pureblood
Koda was born speaking Parsletongue so everyone assumed he´d be sorted into Slytherin. Neither of his parents were in Slytherin though and Koda ended up feeling very comfortable the minute he stepped foot in the Hufflepuff Common room after the Sorting Ceremony, so everything turned out well.
Rikido Sato: Hufflepuff, Dragon Heartstring, Rhino, Herbology, Muggleborn
When it comes to sheer power his spells are up there with the best of Hogwarts. Even though that is the case he doesn´t particularly like learning about fighting and spells that can be used in duels. He doesn´t look it but his favorite subject is Herbology. Sometime into the second year someone (Kaminari) started calling him kitchen witch and ever since than that´s been his nickname.
Mezo Shoji: Ravenclaw, Dragon Heartstring, Anaconda, Transfiguration, Halfblood
Shoji and his mother have always been keeping their abilities a secret from his dad. She had never told him simply because he seems so comfortable in his muggle world that she didn´t want to disturb the peace he had found. After Shoji showed signs of magical talent, she finally told her child about the wizarding world. Shoji taught himself to understand Parsletongue with the help of Vlad King after meeting Koda for the first time. He is not able to speak it though.
Kyoka Jiro: Ravenclaw, Unicorn Tail Hair, Hog-nose Bat, Divination, Halfblood
Jiro made it through most of her career at Hogwarts without really being noticed by many people. That stopped as soon as Divination classes started. Divination is regarded as a throwaway subject and many people just take it to fill a slot. Jiro is the only person in her year to have made a prediction with 100% accuracy. And that happened within her first semester of taking Divination. Ever since then she´s been highly regarded by any of the students not only in her but other years aswell.
Hanta Sero: Ravenclaw, Unicorn Tail Hair, Australian Shepherd, Potions, Muggleborn
Most of the school knows him pretty well since he became the Quidditch commentator in his third year. Even though he can be a little hard to notice next to all the amazing people in his year, he´s always ranked high in popularity being generally liked by both students and teachers. His parents are both muggles and barely understand what´s going on in school but they´re very supportive.
Fumikage Tokoyami: Ravenclaw, Thunderbird tail feather, Magpie, Astronomy, Pureblood
Tokoyami is an Animagus which has made him more popular with others than he´d like to be. He didn´t inherit the ability from anyone. He just tried it when he read about Animagi in his childhood and thought they were so cool. His parents chuckled when he walked up to them in elementary school and said “I´m gonna turn into a bird.” and were absolutely shocked when it just… worked.
Shoto Todoroki: Gryffindor, Phoenix Feather, Arabian Horse, Care of Magical Creatures, Pureblood
Todoroki´s parents are in an arranged marriage of two very prestigious wizard families. The issues he´s had with his father remain the same. He is the top student in all and every subject Hogwarts could offer. The only subject he´s really investing a lot of time into is Care of Magical Creatures.
Toru Hagakure: Gryffindor, Unicorn Tail Hair, Glass-wing Butterfly, Charms, Muggleborn
A lot of the girls are jealous of her patronus because it is incredibly beautiful aswell as powerful even if it´s small. She is a fan of flashy magic since she´s often lost in the crowd. When she got her letter of acceptance, she started practicing muggle magic tricks since she had no idea what awaited her. Many first years were shocked by how she could already make cards and other small objects disappear before they found out it was actually just a trick.
Katsuki Bakugo: Slytherin, Dragon Heartstring, Wolverine, Defense against the Dark Arts, Pureblood
Bakugo has his eyes set on becoming the greatest auror there ever was. He only does really well in subjects that are of interest to him. DADA is one of those and Midoriya´s serious competition has been a thorn in his side ever since they started. Despite his attitude he´s fairly popular. Probably also because he´s a pretty good beater on Slytherin´s team.
Izuku Midoriya: Hufflepuff, Dragon Heartstring, Grizzly Bear, Defense against the Dark Arts, Muggleborn
Midoriya wants to become a great auror just like Bakugo does. All Might is his absolute idol so to be taught by him gives him extra motivation. So he does not back down from Bakugo like he used to do but stands up to him bravely in order to impress All Might in DADA. Uraraka, Iida and him are the main trio of Hufflepuff in a way.
Minoru Mineta: Slytherin, Unicorn Tail Hair, Snow Fox, Arithmancy, Pureblood
Just like Hagakure, many girls are jealous of his patronus because it is… so unexpectedly cute. Honestly Mineta is the only person that really likes Arithmancy but he´s also the only one that actually gets good grades in it too. He´s this short because many generations ago there was a goblin in his family. Both of his parents are normal height but somehow the gene peaked through with him again. His family has good relations with Gringotts still.
Momo Yaoyorozu: Slytherin, Veela Hair, Okapi, Astronomy, Pureblood
Just like Iida she comes from a renowned family of wizards and witches. She has the potential of exceling in every class but sometimes her dashes of insecurity get in the way of her being successful. For some reason Astronomy is different. Gazing into the stars silently reminds her that her and everyone else is simply part of a big system and reassures her that minor embarrassments are not going to be the end of the world.
