Hi! Question for you once you've had a chance to finish S3 of Ted Lasso: I'd love to hear your perspective on how S3 could have unfolded in a more fulfilling way. No pressure, of course, but I enjoy reading your insights. :)

Okay! I am rolling up my sleeves.

EXPRESSING-OPINIONS-ON-THE-INTERNET CAVEAT: I am not a media critic, and not everything in this post will be cohesive, well-thought-out, and non-contradictory. I do not for a moment pretend that my opinions are Correct, they are merely my own.

SECOND CAVEAT: At this point, with where they left arcs, I'm about 80% sure that depending on how the WGA strike goes (crossing my fingers for them) and any corporate retaliation for that, there will be a spinoff or continuation sans Ted. More of their choices make sense if that is true, even if I don't love the thought (let shows end!!!), so this is all changes I would make assuming s3 is the final season.

The thing about this season, for me, is that any given episode or moment was largely really enjoyable for me! Sure, a few quibbles, and the whole Roy and Keeley thing we will get to in a moment, but if I ignored the fact that I was watching a season, most things worked for me. Looking at it as a season, though, it was too busy, in a way that meant the show dropped a lot of things I wanted to see more of.

So, when pondering this question, I think that there's no way to keep everything I love while getting rid of only the things that annoyed me or that didn't feel right to me. And in the end, I'd rather miss things that weren't there than be annoyed with things that are present, so my take on s3 would streamline a lot of things to engage with others.

Oh boy, this is already long, time for a cut.

Change #1: Roy and Keeley do not break up. There was simply no reason for this, and especially no reason for it to happen off-screen. They can still fight and have difficulties, and Roy can deal with his mental health, but it's just unnecessary drama and I never understood it. This also prevents Roy and Jamie's weird last-episode regression to fighting over her and forcing her into shitty positions.

Change #2: Most of Keeley's plotlines change. All of the KJPR plots and characters were interesting, but they also busied the season up too much. So I'd have her actually building up a one-woman business without Jack (or, tragically, Barbara), maybe doing the Shandy thing and grappling with that for longer, or her dealing with the Establishment the way Rebecca does so often, trying to make them see her as a businesswoman and not a footballer's girlfriend.

Change #3: Beard and Jane break up. We get to carry over the threads from s2 from the Beard episode and from Higgins expressing his concern, instead of treating the way Jane treats him as comedy. We also get to counteract this show's everyone-deserves-not-just-forgiveness-for-everything-but-also-to-be-in-your-life-again message with one instance of someone setting out a boundary and sticking to it.

Change #4: Many of Nate's plots change. As with Barbara, I would really regret losing Jade, but I think there are better uses of Nate's screentime--he was set up to be a real main character in s2 and I felt like I hardly saw him in s3. What I really wanted was for Nate to learn how to have power over people responsibly, I think? I'd have chosen either for him to grit his teeth and stay at West Ham (perhaps while joining the conspiracy to overthrow Rupert) or, when he left, for him to somehow end up coaching a kids' team, and learn gentleness in authority that way. It would pick up this show's really genuinely cool theme of "once one person makes a point of stepping out of the cycle of abuse and trauma it can ripple out around them" in interesting ways.

And while there are many other tweaks I'd make (more Sam, his last focus plot was SO goddamn miserable; eliminate everything about the psychic; goodbye to Rebecca's boat stranger), I'm going to finish with the last big one, which is

Change #5: Ted gets to do something besides reinvent total football, pine for his son, and make speeches that should have been edited down to a third of their length tops. He just seems so checked out this whole season, just talking about how none of the work he's done is on him, all focused on Henry in the wrong ways, so that going back to Kansas felt more like a horrible sacrifice than a choice that will bring him fulfillment or contentment. He was always going to go back to Kansas and his son, much as I wasn't wild about that, but it doesn't feel like a new beginning for him, just like he's going back to his old life with a little more knowledge of football and more knowledge of how to model good parenting and relationships for his kid (while not, from the way I interpreted that last expression, dealing any further with his own mental health). It felt weirdly dark for this show.

(Also I know this show loves its book theming, and I know it's The Wizard of Oz (see: a song from The Wiz playing over the credits to the penultimate episode), but have they considered that in subsequent Oz books Dorothy and her family move back to Oz? Things to consider.)

i will never ever stop thinking about the disability allegories in gravity falls. i cant ever stop thinking about disability allegories in other media and gravity falls is no different. im feeling chatty today, so lets see if i can articulate all my feelings on the matter.

the most interesting thing that stuck out to me with thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com was this snippet on fords medical paper:

we hear about this kind of attitude towards disabilities often, maybe you have heard about autism being referred to as the "next evolutionary change in humans." we can especially see this when a person has a disability, but is also very capable in other fields. there are so many cases in the medical or educational field of a child having specific needs, yet they are ignored due to them being "gifted".

in a vacuum, ford's extra finger may not be considered a disability, the sixth finger allows him more movement and dexterity, and ontop of that, he's a genius. its just an extra finger right? its not like it hurts him. but it does hurt him. he is a child living with a limb difference, he is constantly ridiculed by his peers. they call him a freak and physically harass him.

this is where we dip into the social model of disability here. i know sometimes that can cause a little bit of discourse, but i think its interesting to note here! please if you have a limb difference feel free to add your perspective or correct me where you see fit. if you don't know what the social model of disability is, its the perspective that disabled people would not be as limited in their abilities if it wasn't for the oppressive society that they lived in(think people in wheelchairs could do more things if infrastructure had disabled people in mind). ford wouldn't be experiencing abliesm in his life if limb differences were something people were educated about. then we get to bill cipher. in theory, his ability to see the 3rd dimension is almost a super power. but in the book of bill its literally stated that it is illegal for anyone to mention the possibility of "up". he is forced into abusive medical practices where he is being drugged to suppress his ability. no one in his dimension has the same perspective of him, he is completely alone, and even worse, the people who should be protecting him like his parents and doctors are abusing him(not that his parents are evil for this obviously. they don't have a choice and i assume they want what is best for him, what were they supposed to do? yet it still had this horrible impact on bill).

this social model can be applied to bill cipher. he has this ability that in a vacuum would be considered amazing, but he lives in a society(rip) that oppresses this. they have to, because bill trying to let his dimension see the stars killed every last person. which makes me think that whoever was in power here probably knew this would happen. its unsure if bill cipher knew the true extent of his damage would be, but i am of the belief that he didn't know how bad it would really be.

i just find all of this very interesting. i really love when a story tackles a topic such as disability. its so obvious this is what alex hirsch is going for and its such a unique take that i don't see often in media, as a disabled person myself. feel free to lmk your thoughts :)

I was thinking about a scenario wherein Gojo Satoru always had the impression that reader hated his guts because they always bicker even at the pettiest of things. But one day, Satoru overhears reader gushing about having a crush on him (reader could be talking to Geto/Shoko/both etc) and they keep rambling about how much they like him and all. Meanwhile, Satoru's just 🧍‍♂️leaning by the doorframe with the biggest smug grin on his face (he actually secretly likes reader back). How it ends is entirely up to you if you'd take this request hehe

seriously, they've lost the count of reasons why you gradually became a Satoru simp but oh have you

“goddammit! i hate him, i hate him and his dumb voice and his stupid muscles and his awfully attractive face! it's all on my desserts he ate to look li-... Geto, are you sleeping?”

you stop your very important discourse to give the best friend of your enemy & your thought dump a pointed look

“no, please keep talking. i only yawn when i'm super fascinated”

says him, that talk-back king of a bitch you're sure he got that from is best friend

he lies down the bed with a soft huff and if he notices Satoru’s tall presence by the door, he does nothing—nothing but a hint of evil amusement making his lips curve into a subtle smile to the thought of your pathetically obvious crush being exposed

he does nothing to stop you who's back faced the door, nothing when his best friend approached slowly with his hands inside his sweatpants as your embarrassing tirade continued

“-and Shoko, trust me. I'd have let him known about his ridiculous eyes that i dreamt last night if he wasn't such a jerk like h-”

“...what about my eyes?”

you flinch... no, no no no, fuck. even Shoko burst out at your comical whip of the head

with a stifling laugh that she tried to fight so hard, Shoko gets out along with Geto who may have wanted to stay just to watch the drama commence

“um-” you almost landed face first trying to drag your panicked little self out of bed as the slanting white brows raised at you amusingly

“mhm, and you hate these stupid muscles” “no! i mean- yes, n-”

“y/n, i expected more”

god fucking damn, what was his cursed technique? to flatter people? you pulled a passive-aggressive face in defence of your shattering pride, and begin “h-how long have you been standing there?”

Gojo answered your question with the teasing smile on his face, and he chuckled before asking with a tilt of his head to watch your reaction “correct me if i've been reading this all wrong but.... you like me”

your figure shrinks at the claim and that definitely satisfied Gojo, his breathy hum confirming it further

“mm?” he hums slowly, as if coaxing a child to admit their wrong doings “cat got your tongue y/n?” just say it, say it, say it. you breath in.

“i like you” “say that again” “...i like you”

you know he would not let you live that down even if you were to end up having kids—but fuck that, you thought, the cat's out of the bag anyway.

“dunno i had such a weird taste in men but i just really enjoy spending my time with you and you've really become someone special to me and-”

“don't even tell me, i already know. i just needed to get that out.” he knows he shouldn't be mean, not when he feels the same about you, but can he help his obsession with your flustered red mess of a face?

you know he's trying too hard to tease you. cruel fucking bastard. “wait until i kill you”

“yeah?~ what're you trying here? to make this seem like a lovers' quarrel?” he chuckles, prolly wants to redden your puffy cheeks a little more before giving in.

“i'll punch that smirk off your face, Satoru!” “try me, i dont need to try getting you on your knees before me”

“oh, do you think of that image a lot?” you say lifting an eyebrow, perfect chance to make him taste his own medicine.

oh. Gojo blushed.

“w-well, what i think is... maybe our feelings are mutual” says after clearing his throat as he slowly regains his composure. “i have this weird feeling when i'm with you, can't explain it, but it's a good feeling...”

your usual instinct of fighting began to fade at his words as both of you stood in middle of the room in an awkward state, trying to fight the urge to smile

“hah, can't believe i never noticed it before, but you're kinda hot when you're angry. maybe that's why i loved pissing you off”

yes, that's when Gojo managed to break your last straw and make you blush at the same time “well then, take this!” his infinity stopped your little punch

“meanie!” he chuckles again, holding your fist softly

“okay little baby, no sulking. if a punch makes you feel better you can punch me. lightly.” he said in his silvery voice as he turned his infinity off, kissing you nice and soft...

I use VTK vanilla so only fem v with default breast size (I'm lazy I'm sorry, again this is why I'm doing it for charity and not being paid directly). Specify if you use another complexion. I use Ava's with abs, no moles.

UV Male is fine. I use FrauBlume's skin.

No body rigs

Minimal customization mods please (recolors, more body or face meshes, and VTK or UV overlays are fine)

For shippy pics: only canon (lore not strictly game only) sexuality pairings: Judy x fem v, Kerry x fem or masc, Johnny x fem or masc, Panam x masc v, etc (I'm sorry it's just what I'm comfortable with, do not come here with discourse bc I do not care. This is for charity.)

All VP is final, no redos: I'll provide unedited versions and my own edits in a Google Drive folder. You're free to do whatever you want with them. Specify if you want them private, otherwise I will pick a few to share to continue promoting the charity drive/as a VP portfolio thing or whatever.

What I need from you

1. Your CC values, preferably written down (Skin: 01, Eyes: 02 etc) but screenshots of the color palettes OR an NPV file OR an ACU preset file (please provide the written down CC values just in case ACU wants to crash)

2. If your OC has any signature colors or color themes they wear, as well as any other special requests such as "they dress practical" or "they are a total slut". Any additional personality info will be great too. You may specify clothing items/mods or leave it up to me for a surprise!

3. If your OC uses modded appearance items this will also increase turnaround time. Please provide either the files or link the mods and tell me what you use. *This may or may not work out depending on my own install. Have a mostly vanilla OC backup or other request available.*

I'm having a lot of thoughts and idk if I've fully thought it all out, but I needed to get it down and try to work out how I feel about it all..

I genuinely don't think this whole "discourse" is what's happening. I'm sure they just really wanted to do the whole bit with the strings and that's all.

Nothing to do with Alex and Miles being less close than they once were. Nothing to do with their relationship being less profound than it has always been. They're super important people in each other's lives and there comes a point when you've been that for someone for so long that it no longer requires constant reconfirmation. Their friendship is so solid, so deeply rooted within them both, that they don't need to perform together to assure themselves that they're good. There's no question. They're friends, and they always will be, no matter how much time passes, they'll always be there for each other. I have no doubt about that.

And they asked Miles to come along, they knew they could count on him to make it and do an amazing show, even on short notice. And Miles was there watching, having fun, riding the high of his own show, and I bet it doesn't hurt him the slightest bit not playing 505 with them. And neither does Alex not joining him for a tlsp track. And it's just very fun to watch Miles do such a great job on such a massive stage and to watch Alex (maybe) send some inside jokes his way, and definitely acknowledge his presence more than he has for any other opening act.

Miles has enjoyed playing a couple of the more Miles centric tlsp tunes during the last year at his own shows, and he probably just took them off the setlist when they figured out they wouldn't have the time/energy to rehearse and work it all out. And to not lead anyone on and create false hope that Alex might show up. It's been a long time since they've done it. And Alex is the sort of guy who has probably forgotten his own lyrics, and would require more time and brain capacity to practice to get it in order. Or something else that is perfectly reasonable.

Like, I'm all for delusions but I guess I'm just saying that I don't think it's that deep. They're friends. Close friends. Very important to each other. (Maybe more if that's how you choose to view it). And I bet they don't even think about the shows in the same terms as we do, every little thing doesn't matter as much to them as it does to us. Not everything is a "sign" and there are so many pragmatic and logistical reasons that play into a tour like this that we know nothing about.

I bet Alex is exhausted, excited for the tour to be over and to get to go home and rest, I know I would be! Even if he has loved every bit of it, I would be completely worn out and just ready to go home. But I bet they were also so excited to have the strings and they wanted to really have them shine during the set. It was their show. The Monkey's show, and they finally had the chance to let the vision they had for the album come to life. What an amazing end of the tour.

I won't get too much into why they haven't utilized the strings sooner, because they obviously could've and I don't get why they didn't, and maybe they could've skipped the strings on 505 and had Miles up for it instead. It would've been incredible. So much potential. A lot of fans would've been pleased bout that, and I know they'd enjoy it and have fun playing together too.

But they didn't, and even if I would love to know the actual reason, I'm choosing to let it go and assume there is a very logical and reasonable explanation, and not some big dramatic fallout going on. I can be disappointed about not seeing them, but I don't think it "means" anything in the grander scheme of things.

Miles could've played with them (assuming he doesn't for the last one either), and I won't get into that discussion too much either, because ofc they could have done it together, but so many things had to work out and maybe Miles just wanted to do his own thing. Maybe they never got around to having the conversation, maybe something entirely different happened. We don't know.

And yes ofc I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see them together, I won't deny it. I would've loved it, both as a fan of their music and performances and as a tiny little happy milex lover, my shipper and fic writer heart would've been so so pleased about it. But we didn't get it this time around, and that doesn't mean that their friendship is over or that they hate each other or that they're not close anymore or that they don't love each other anymore. And it doesn't mean that we won't ever see them play together again.

I think they would love to perform together again, but I would assume they also have so many other things they love to do too. So many other things that require their energy. Even together, but also just their personal dreams and wants in life.

They're both into the idea of tlsp being back someday, but as it has always been with them, tlsp will return when the time is right, when it happens naturally. That's the beauty of it. It's something that just happens and that's why they both love and enjoy it so much, I think. It's about freedom and spontaneity, it's without boundaries, it can't be planned or controlled, it's a beautiful chaos between two close friends who love to make music together, and who are incredibly talented at it. But they're also artists who have other ambitions. Other projects they love.

And their friendship doesn't depend on tlsp releasing new music. It is a product of their beautiful friendship, but the friendship came first. Them not writing together right now actually says absolutely nothing about the current state of their friendship. Which we have seen signs of being as healthy and strong as ever, if a bit more private than it used to be. And that's fine. They're super private people, and honestly I would have much more reason to worry for their friendship if they suddenly started posting about it all the time and parading each other around. They're not like that and they never will be and that's fine.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Yes, they're being dumbasses - both the band and our dear milex boys, throughout the whole tour - with not utilizing the strings earlier on the tour, not playing more of The Car on the setlist, not skipping more of AM, not taking advantage of ALL THAT POTENTIAL. They could've done the strings for Glastonbury, it would've been perfect. They could've easily included Miles in a few more gigs (it was sooooo lovely when they did), these last ones in particular, and it would've been so beautiful and meaningful and they would've had so much fun with it - they could've made so many better decisions than they did. The whole tour came with some question marks. We can all agree on that. They're being stupid and they seem to not always think very far ahead, and sometimes forget to use their brains, and I assume that's why they end up not having time to rehearse and work things out sooner, and that is honestly just so dumb of them. They could be doing so much more and I hope some things will improve next time.

But either way - the tour is over and I've loved every second of it.

The new album is super gorgeous and it finally got the string section it deserved. What an amazing finish to the tour. I sincerely hope they will be bringing a lot of The Car back next time around.

Deeply in my own heart I wish we would see Alex and Miles on stage together again soon, but at the same time, I wish Miles the very best with his own work, he truly deserves all the success in the world. And I hope Alex will get some well-earned rest and time off. I hope he will go free of paparazzi and find peace and quiet after this insanely taxing year, and I hope he finds bunches and bunches of inspiration for new songs. I hope tlsp will be back sooner rather than later and I hope they're happy.

I've loved getting to follow the tour, I've loved being on here freaking out with you guys, and I will miss getting to see their little faces everyday. Truly.

But I think it's so well deserved for them to take a break and I hope they will be back soon.

I guess you think I don't really filter them out, but you're wrong. Believe me, no matter how much I ban everything related to this ship, it comes up in every way. For example eruri shipper Levixreader writers. Even in the Hcs/fanfic's they write, they are in every way squeezing their own ship under the guise of "this is not ship discourse" and they write the dynamics of that ship under the name of 'levixreader' in order to show that their ship is canon. And you naively Rb'd them and think that Levi's character is really like that. He's a perpetually angry man, he's a cruel selfish man who hates the weak and who hates the weak and who immediately abandons you because he's weak, who puts his feelings for erbin ahead of his duties 🥺 who puts humanity through hell for erbin. but someone who is a dog and a softy for him and someone who threw S/o out of the window for him. Yes he loves S/o but he would even sacrifice S/o for the landlord whose dog he is 😔 But again keep saying "great Levi fic post 😭".

And that's what I'm talking about when I say don't let them manipulate you, because even one of your recent articles is similar to their writing style. I wouldn't be surprised if you soon write Levi as an ass upturned, bed whining, super fanon twink whiny lowlife sub. One of your Rb's in particular is a super delulu shipper levixreader writer, and they so much portray Levi as Erwin's lapdog, order dog, loyal dog, someone who never questions whatever action he takes, never wavers in his loyalty, that Cosmic finally had to write them a misleading reply that Levi is not like that Lmaoo. And they are egotistical and self-righteous enough to say "I know better than you" when they see criticism that contradicts their fanon thinking. Man its 2024 and fucking ackerbond has been debunked years ago and even Isayama's dusty old interviews deny it. Yeah, no matter how much I filter eruri, I see exactly that in both Levi tags and Levixreader tags 🙃 and now whenever I want to read fic or browse Levi posts, I have to look at them with hesitation and fear. I'm so tired that I would love for Isayama to drop a bombshell that will disprove both the selfshippers and shippers and all their rhetoric, all their Hc's, and leave us all in a big disappointment. For example to give him a really random female partner. Or I would like him to write a characterization where he really doesn't care about everyone and throws them into the fire, where he thinks about himself and his life instead of thinking about them, where he focuses on himself, where he is truly selfish. okay, i've heard you're one of the 'greek gods are white' people. how do you explain 'zeus athiops', considering linguistic research proved that's a word for what we now call Black. how do you explain drastically different depictions of the same deities in Syria and Lybia and more. how do you explain that a third of the pantheon have eastern roots. like girl... please get out of that mindset.

i think you need to legit drop that whole whiteness thing. it'd reductive as fuck, to us Europeans too. leave it to the people who made it, adhering to whiteness is just erasing heritages.

If that's what you got out of the discourse, you have a really USAmerican thinking pal, albeit not a USian. Or perhaps someone simplified this to you in this way and you took it word-by-word. Let me tell you what the discourse is actually about, and why there's a problem even when the Greek gods are depicted (for example) blue-eyed and blond, like N. Europeans.

It is about the treatment of pantheons by Western nations, a treatment with colonizing and imperialistic attitudes which separate the gods from their culture. A treatment that ignores depictions of a culture with an extremely large history and reduces it to distinctly Western and Anglophone pop-culture and Fandom.

Just because this happens to a nation which is considered generally light-skinned it doesn't mean it shouldn't alarm you. And the complaints of Greeks only alarm you when they address changes from lighter to significantly darker appearance, and not the opposite.

I bet you didn't send Greeks any hatemail when they were complaining about actors being too pasty and saying "This person doesn't even look like a Greek. More Irish. They even have an Irish accent…" We had this problem for centuries. N. Europeans had this super pale depiction of our gods which they considered "noble" and they saw actual Greeks are dark barbarians who are "not like the original Greeks". Now this type of projection is happening again, in order to make the West feel better, and we are actually told how we look and don't look.

Now we constantly hear "You are too light to be Greek"/"You don't look Greek" because another stereotype has settled among the powerful nations that control our image. Needless to say, this is negative too, just by the nature of being untrue, and harmful to Greek people. But this doesn't seem to worry you. You only worry when the West tells you to worry because now the cause is "noble" according to them. They never stopped seeing themselves as the righteous and noble ones. Fuck other cultures and their specific issues and histories, right?

Treating popular pantheons as a blank canvas will happen to more "races" and ethnicities when they start being considered "white" specifically in the US, our "beloved" planetarch nation. (There's already some discourse about Mexicans and Asians being the "new white"). In 50 years perhaps your grandchild will shout at a Mexican for not understanding why "it is okay" for the deity Tezcatlipoca to be depicted half-Chinese half-Nigerian.

The same thing happened to the Greeks. In many parts of the world, Greeks are still "non-white" and in the US we only recently became "white". The Middle Easterners and N.Africans are also "White" on paper. The Greek Whiteness is also only on paper, since the Westerners get the hickeys every time they hear our names, or see a part of our culture which so resembles the Middle Eastern ones. Or they clock us as Mexicans, Arabs, Turks etc. But I digress.

My point so far is that this Western approach, in its effort to be progressive, has used pantheons of foreign cultures in a way that it negates these cultures and their depictions, or their beliefs. (Something that I wouldn't call progressive)

Onto the depictions themselves. As you understand, me - and the overwhelming majority of Greeks - wants to maintain them. To this day, within the Greek culture I haven't seen depictions of native gods as - we would say today - Black. If we had some that would be okay. But we don't. I reckon, even other lands who got Hellenized didn't change the "race" of these gods. Sometimes they were alterations, yes, but to the point we are talking about a new deity, and certainly not a deity the Greeks would recognize or worship. Then we are not talking about Greek mythology, but mythology of other nations which, at some point, came in contact with the Greek culture.

But, again, it doesn't look like the Greek gods had different races in the depictions of other nations. Even today the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern nations don't racebend the gods. They see them as they are in the ancient depictions. Perhaps they indeed saw these gods looking a bit more like them but if you think Greek people and their neighbors (N. Africans, M. Easterners) belong to different races… you might want to check some racist notions you might hold.

"Aithiops" can mean "glowing" and "of burnt face". (αἴθω < πρωτοϊνδοευρωπαϊκή ρίζα *aidʰ- (φλέγω) = burn/on fire + όψη = face/look) It's an Epithet (an adjective) of Zeus on the island of Chios (Lycophron, Cass. 537, with the note of Tzetzes.). You can see where this island is and you may easily understand that it had more or less the same population as the rest of Greek areas, in which "Black" individuals were very rare.

But the most important thing is, we also haven't found a depiction of Zeus as a "Black" individual. If we had found a statue with the features of a "Black" man and the name Zeus underneath, I'd be happy to say "Some Greeks indeed saw Zeus as Black". I don't mind the "race", I mind how everyone gets in mental gymnastics to try and defend a lie just because it sounds progressive.

Perhaps in their minds this aspect of Zeus had the appearance of a Middle Eastern but... this is not what you call another race. Even today Greeks don't consider Middle Easterners and South Arabs a different "race". Also, as I said in the beginning, it could just mean "Glowing Zeus", like his face is glowing so much as if it is on fire. One word can have more than one use. The "αιθ-" root is also used about the sky, because it's glowing. The word Aether/Aitheras which we still use in Greece (αιθέρας/αιθέρες) refers to the skies. Maybe he had a "appearance/face like the sky"

Also, very important: Back then the region where the country of Ethiopia is today was called Abyssinia. The Greeks, in the period you're thinking about, probably had no contact with the land which today is Ethiopia. Aethiopia was a whole region, possibly the Middle East. (See the post here where many sources are gathered)

The first depiction of Andromeda, an Aethiopian princess as "Black" came from Ovid, who came much later and who is not part of the Greek narrative. He's also very unreliable because with his stories he wanted to oppose the status quo and therefore the mythological figures of his time. The Greek depictions have Andromeda and her family look more or less like Greeks. (Otherwise, they would have noted the difference in appearance)

Plus, Andromeda and Perseus birthed the nation of Persians. As you know, while there are "Black" Persians the population, in general, is not "Black". Plus, I am not even sure the Greeks had contact with the "Black" Persians because they are mostly extremely far south. Such a small population so down south it's not something to base the whole Look of a Nation on, at least.

It's the Northwesterners that always use the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern nations as an excuse to disrespect these depictions. (Meanwhile the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern nations don't agree with this. They never get ACTUALLY asked)

Not to mention, the changes the western nations make are not part of a cultural exchange and they don't happen naturally through cultural osmosis. It's plain theft and ownership over the gods of a foreign culture, which they have been doing for some centuries now. The Western cultures are dominant over the Greek one. We are towards the bottom of the ladder socioeconomically in Europe. The US is literally a puppet-master of the Greek nation (and many other nations). Our government can't even fart without checking with the US. Oh, and the US also helped the 70's Junta rise to power.

Lastly, the Greek gods don't have "Anatolian origin". This rhetoric (which again implies that ancient people of a region were all the same stock) has been refuted. Nobody "stole" gods from anyone. There are so many posts on these blogs about it. Greeks were also in Anatolia for 3.000 years before the genocide, so we are not even talking about separate regions. (But I know that you saw them as separate so I approached the argument the way you meant it)

There are common roots, common beginnings, perhaps but the difference grew so much that neighboring nations had distinct gods. They also believed that their gods were distinct. You have to respect that, and also you can't lump them all together because they "all look the same to you" or some sort of a similar mindset. The Greek gods are not interchangeable with the Assyrian gods etc.

One or two, like Dionysus, indeed were brought from outside. But most are considered native to the land. (Aphrodite, too, is native to the island of Cyprus) And the Greek gods are considered ethnically Greek. The Greeks considered themselves born by these gods. Each line had a god that gave birth to it or claimed to descend from a god. See more at the end of this great video: (Video with Timestamp) Again, the Greek gods are not ethnically Japanese, or ethnically Argentinian, or ethnically Norwegian. They come from a specific culture, with specific stories and appearances. You cannot imply otherwise without making all cultures a disservice.

The Basics: I am looking at Steve and Tony's synastry chart, which describes how their natal charts interact with each other. To learn about Natal charts see here, Synastry charts see here (since these are fictional characters, I'm not really worrying about orb size).

Thanks to my chronic health issues I don't have the energy to do a full synastry reading – this analysis is mostly conjunctions, and is focused on their romance/sexuality placements. 

At least, it was, until I fell down several different rabbit holes. So... I hope this post makes sense and isn't one big incoherent ramble.

This is MCU based: Steve was born on July 4, 1918 in Brooklyn; while Tony was born on May 29, 1970 in Manhattan. I came up with their birth times.

The word Conjunction means that two planets/asteroids are right next to each other. They are in the same zodiac sign and (usually) house. Being so close together merges their energy – like the astrological version of a hug.

Asteroids are like mini planets, and have a specific meaning/purpose. Mars is usually associated with sex, but that's only a small part of it - it's also about primal instincts and drive. The astroid Eros, on the other hand, is just about sexuality - the Greek god Eros is where the word (and concept) of eroticism comes from.

While Venus tells you about what you're attracted to in love, Juno tells about the traits you need in a long-term partner – this is the astrological personification of want vs need. The asteroid Chiron tells you about the major soul wound you will be dealing with throughout your life. Alma tells you about your soulmate.

Tony's Gemini Sun is conjunct Steve's Venus, Juno, AND Eros!

Tony's Cancer Venus is conjunct Steve's Sun.

Tony's Capricorn Eros is opposite Steve's Cancer Sun.

Steve's Eros in Gemini and 10th House:

In general, Gemini is a very youthful and intellectual sign. Steve having these planets/asteroids in his 10th house means he's drawn to older and professionally-established people. Steve not only wants, he needs to be the bratty bottom for long term success.

(Not to mention, Steve was 26 when he went into the ice – and his mind and body were still 26 when he was defrosted in March/April 2012. This means Tony is 15 years older than him.)

The Sun represents your core personality. What Steve both wants and needs is Tony. Just Tony, the man who looks into the mirror and hates what he sees:

But not only is Capricorn associated with the 10th House (paralleling Steve's placement), but it also touches on Tony's fear of emotional intimacy. Steve is much more in touch with his feminine side than Tony is. He's definitely the CapMom to Tony's IronDad. (Tony even teases him about turning “the mansion into a day-care center”)

In the comics, Pietro accuses Steve of having “an incurable mother hen complex.” In the films, we see Steve seek out other Avengers in order to talk about their feelings and provide comfort (Natasha in TWS and EG, Bruce in AOU, Wanda in CW) – essentially playing therapist, so he can ignore his own issues (Natasha calls him out for his in EG).

Steve's Sun and Moon signs are both ruled by feminine planets, and his rising sign is ruled by the androgynous Mercury.

Steve's Sun in Cancer:

The crabs are feminine, cardinal water signs. Due to being associated with the water element, depth runs deep in their veins. They are very tender and easily get bruised. It is not easy for them to let go of the hurt someone pondered on them. Motherly instinct is in abundance in their nature. Who can forget the time Carol Danvers called Steve a “hipster doofus”?

In all seriousness, that comic page is an excellent example of Steve's natal chart – he's hanging out in a park that has been around since he was a kid, talking about how unprocessed ingredients not only 'taste like heaven' but the way he remembers them, and rereading Lord of the Rings for the millionth time.

We got Steve's first 'accurate' backstory in 1981 (the first backstory was published in 1978, but was later revealed to be a false memory):

I see here – that he grew up on the Lower East Side of New York City! Evidently, much of his youth was spent trying to help his family make ends meet during the depths of the Depression. Oh... I see... his father died when he was still a child, and his mother had to struggle just to keep her son and herself fed.  Still, despite their deprivation, Steve kept up with his schooling, and became a voracious reader... especially of fantasy! Given the state of his reality, I can well understand why. Ah. It seems that the boy also had a natural talent for art. But he kept his love of art, and of books, a secret to avoid taunts and beatings at the hands of his peers. As the Depression wore on, time became increasingly difficult for the Rogers' household. Sarah Rogers took in laundry... and taxed herself to the limit to provide for her son. But time and hardship eventually took its toll, and as Steven entered his late teens, his mother passed on – a victim of pneumonia. Out on his own, young Rogers managed to find a cheap boarding house and took a job as a delivery boy. It was not an easy life, nor a very good one... but somehow, he survived. And then, one day, while trying to escape into the fantasy world of the movies, Steve Rogers encountered an even harsher reality – in newsreel footage of the Nazi war machine in its relentless march across a war-torn Europe!

I want to call attention to the word choice here: deprivation. Deprivation means “a state of extreme poverty” and “the fact of not having something that you need, like enough food, money, or a home.” 

Steve wasn't just poor, he was constantly on the verge of starving and being homeless – which would have been a death sentence, considering his numerous health issues. “But somehow, he survived.”

We know that Steve's Taurus Moon is an essential part of his character – he is strong willed and he did get his moral code from his mom (he is the original mama's boy, after all) – but that lack of material security? That's huge, and the effect it had on his psyche cannot be overstated. Really. If you like Steve, you have to understand this.

But back to Tony. Steve is his ideal romantic partner – but accepting that means accepting his soft and vulnerable side, which Tony isn't great at (keep reading for more on this).

Tony has his Moon, Chiron, and Juno conjunct each other in the first half of Aries (1-15 degrees). These planets are conjunct Steve's Chiron. In the second half of Aries (at 24 degrees) Steve and Tony have Alma conjunct Alma.

Tony's Sagittarius Rising:

In Tony's comic backstory, he has a childhood love of King Arthur and Arthurian legends; and there's no question that Iron Man is both a 21st Century Knight and Tony's ultimate self-fulfillment fantasy (in a good way!). 

There are two types of idealism, and people often confuse the two. Steve and Tony are especially interesting, because they each personify one of the types of idealism:

1. “a person who values principles above practical behavior”

2. “someone who believes that very good things can be achieved, often when this does not seem likely to others”

There is a comic quote that sums Steve and Tony up perfectly: “Steve gets back up because it's the right thing to do. Tony gets up because he believes in the future.” (if anyone knows what comic this is from, please let me know!)

Tony's Chiron in Aries and 4th House:

This is supposedly one of the most difficult yet important Chiron placements, although I tend to find that all Chiron placements are really painful. The reason that Aries can be so difficult is because it’s directly related to who you are as a person.

This Chiron placement very often indicates a broken home. In many cases, the parents didn’t have a good relationship. They may have been absent as well. Temporary or permanent separation is very common among people with a Chiron in 4th house natal placement.

Chiron in 4th house indicates a difficult relationship with one of the parents (often the mother). Typically, the care they could give you was not sufficient in some way. It can also happen that they were not present mentally and they couldn’t respond to your needs appropriately. It is very common that this parent was in an overwhelming position themselves and they had no resources to take care of you because they couldn’t take care of themselves either. This placement very often indicates a mother wound.

It’s a frequent theme here that there was no one around who had the inner strength and resources to teach you how to cultivate emotional stability. Childhood is very often a lonely time in your life. Children blame themselves for negative things around them, and this guilt often leaks into your adulthood as well.

This placement suggests that early influences may be holding you back. It is common for these people to feel guilt if they are about to make substantial changes in their life, something that was not evident to happen in your family. This placement can indicate a fear of vulnerability because of the experience of no one being around to hold space for you. Moon conjunct Chiron:

Moon conjunct Chiron is a very painful aspect. If the outcome of this aspect is that you felt unwanted and that you weren’t taken care of, you might now feel extremely lonely and insecure.

There are many ways that this could have played out. Your mother might have been absent, verbally abusive and aggressive, passive-aggressive, or simply ignored your emotional needs.

You also might develop nurturing issues towards yourself and others. You may ignore your own needs because they were ignored by your mother or primary caretaker, or you might ignore the needs of others who are close to you (your partner, children, family, friends, pets, etc.).

The healing path with this moon conjunct Chiron aspect is to reconnect with the inner child and give your child what they didn’t get when you were actually little.

I personally believe that the inner child will always exist energetically on some dimension, so simply ignoring them isn’t an option. You won’t be able to heal these wounds until you go through the process of healing yourself inside.

Juno in Aries

The first group of people with this placement are those who act in a dominating way during first impressions. I have read that having Alma conjunct Alma is a sign of Twin Flames. Personally, I don't believe in the (unfortunately) very popular and pseudo-spiritual Twin Flame culture that has developed over the last decade – it's mostly an excuse for toxic and immature behavior. You didn't specify a fandom, so I guess I have to answer it for all of them? ^^ 1) the character everyone gets wrong In Dark Souls I don't really see much character discourse. But I think people give Gwyn too much flak. Yes, he is technically the villain but you also to take in account that he tried to let his people prosper. Nobody in the game is it told that people that came from the light sould can continue to exist in the age of dark. I actually think it is pretty safe to say that they would lose their immortality or long lifespan and start dropping dead left and right. It makes a lot more sense why Gwyn acted this way then outside of he simply wanted power. Yes, he is afraid of dying and that is not a good thing but I wish people would not paint him as someone who prolonged his age for only his own good and nobody else. In Bloodborne I could make it easy for me and say Gehrman, but I will choose Micolash. Not everyone gets him wrong, of course, but I see him softened too much. Far too much. I wish people would lean more into him being someone who does horrible experiments because he is madly curious. Someone who lost his mind by delving too deep into the Eldritch knowledge. Someone who is more than elated to be able to get a Hunter into his grasp and mocks and runs away from them until they finally get him. He may not always be like that but Micolash clearly went down an arc where he became a villain and I want to see more of it. In Elden Ring I have to say Mohg. Because either people make him into a secretly super soft guy who planned to let rule Miquella his empire from the get-go (he is calling himself the Lord of Blood, PLEASE) or they put him as completely black villain who has no nuance. Mohg is a rather grey character in my book. He coped horribly with his parental neglect and in a way that is rebellious against the Golden Order and finding solace in what he is. That doesn't mean that he cannot do bad things however. The guy canonically did kidnap a bunch of people. Oh how I love to write Varre in mad love with him despite knowing deep inside himself how fucked up this is. In Hollow Knight it is the Pale King. People see the dead baby pit and deem his a irredeemable without even thinking about the why. First, he is a Higher Being with completely different morals than humans. Second, he considered the vessels lifeless mutations. Third, he actually did love the Pure Vessel and messed the whole plan up. Fourth, he is not a colonizer, he simply won the battle for followers, stop saying he is a colonizer or that he genocided the moths! Please just read my fic Off Balance for my take on him.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? I try to not hate characters. It is more common with ships for me that I start to dislike them but they are easier to avoid than whole characters. I can just say that I tend to avoid fans of certain characters. I don't avoid fans of Dark Souls characters. I think they are generally fine. In Bloodborne I am very wary of Lady Maria fans. Most of the time they are Gehrman haters and flip their shit if you headcanon her to not be a butch lesbian. My blog title is actually from such a hater. They said I wanted Lady Maria to be a tradwife simply for stating that she might have worn dresses when she was done with the hunts. Sophie from Sinclair Lore even told me that the doll's clothing might have been Maria's clothes that she wore in the research hall, so yeah, if even a lore expert agrees with me, I cannot be wrong. In Elden Ring I don't specifically like fans of soft Mohg but that has to do with my own interpretation. They can do what they want. I just am bored by Mohg as someone who does not do atrocities. He is more fun as a war criminal. In Hollow Knight... I don't know. Some Radiance fans can be really annoying because of how they dunk on PK while acting like Radi is the innocent victim which is... not the case and is clear to anyone who played Hollow Knight until the end.
