And this concludes the grand crossover event
(or does it?)
(it does but I was given a great idea for how to solve Gwen's problem :) )
the timeline of previous relevant comics:
[Jeff has a great fashion sense and Peter is the best hooker]
[Jeff is found and fucks are lost]
[bro landed up in the wrong universe and all he got out of it is a lousy bow]

What if your presumedly dead sibling wasn’t dead and just became a final boss in a pit and her whole thing is replicating someone else’s form and also your coworker’s whole thing is replicating someone else’s form. (but shapeshifting this time) Would that like mess you up for a bit or…like…..???

Not to be That Guy, but I've noticed a lot of posts floating about lately with a certain disdain for fanfic readers, in respect of "not interacting with fanfiction the right way" and I just really wanted to say that as a fic writer myself, it kind of bothers me.
Like, I understand that it can be frustrating when you work hard at writing a fic and don't get the response you're after, but these reams of rules and complaints are genuinely just going to kill positive interaction entirely. It's going to make folks scared to say or do the wrong thing, so they won't leave comments or share or drop a kudos in case they offend someone.
And who can blame them, really? The tone of some of these posts... it's very "fanfic authors don't owe readers anything" and like?? Sure, I guess??? But that's pretty unpleasant aside from anything else, don't you think?
You can air a grievance, of course you can, but let's not make sweeping statements, be hostile, or make demands of people.
We're all here to have fun and share our love of whatever source material. Maybe instead of focusing on the things and people that annoy you, try showing and sharing your appreciation with those that are as excited as you are.
Trust me, fandom is way more fun like that.

as you might have figured from the change in url, I'm going through a lil reset with CinCin so this blogo is now an archive. I will be bringing my longer threads and shippy goodness over to the new page. I'm also cleaning up my thread tracker and will probably update this with the final list as I move forward <3

This panel is so meaningful in Twilight coming to terms with his own childhood trauma. It’s clear throughout the series that he distances himself from Anya “for the sake of the mission”, but in reality he can’t admit to the pain he faced as a child.
Anya chose a skeleton as her treat. It is a “morbid spectacle”, and one that mirrors his own decision to join the army as soon as possible. He tampered down his own stress by inflicting the pain he felt on the “enemy”, and Anya being drawn to that specific keychain suggests her flippancy for violence.
The line “Did I not see it, or did I not want to see it?” shows his reluctance to acknowledge the similarities between their lives. Had Twilight admitted earlier that Anya’s time alone was so detrimental to her emotions he would need to address the deep seated trauma that the loss of his family caused him.
He’s finally forced to confront a surrogate of his own experience and struggles to give her the affection she needs to be a happy and healthy kid, because that would be an admission of the impact his childhood had on him throughout his adolescence and into adulthood.

i like it when things wrap up really neatly in fic research. i was thinking about where grian would have found his fire lookout job or heard about it. the obvious place is the newspaper ads, of course. that's how jobs were advertised before the internet. the next question is, how likely is a job based 8 hours away in wyoming to advertise in a newspaper in a different state? most of what i know of old forest service hiring was that it was pretty local. so my assumption, that i've already referenced in the fic, was that it was a broad listing for fire lookout jobs available or seasonal forest service position. there's [x] amount of jobs available in [x] location and they all have the same requirements, so send in the application and we'll send you to wherever. i said grian had ranked his choice and put shoshone national forest as his first and only option. this is how the federal government still advertises certain entry level/season positions--it's common to see a broad listing hiring for multiple locations where you can rank your top 3 city choices. okay! that answers that, then.
but then it gets even better because. i found out the forest service regional office that is over shoshone national forest is actually based out of lakewood, CO, which is a suburb of denver. all their hiring decisions and applications would come out of there. so of course they're advertising in the denver paper right where grian can see :)
