'How like a winter hath my absence been from thee...'

A warm spring sunrise over English countryside landscape, featuring two lovely ladies out for an early morning stroll.

While @clydethistles Regency-period-Jane-Austen-inspired AU (Austen AU for short) Affections And Adorations did not feature any scene at sunrise, the moment I saw this photo of English countryside my mind was immediately overcome with the need to see Tissaia and Yennefer from Clyde's story over that backdrop. I can use buzzwords like mutual pining and it's about the yearning to describe the story but then it would be undermining for such a lovely work, and undoubtedly one of my favourite fics of all time. I am forever in awe at the research and thoughtfulness Clyde put into crafting it, be it either in form of the details about everyday life from the time period or of the language of the narration and conversation, be it either manifested as the graceful incorporation of Austen-esque storytelling elements and archetypes or as our author's very own endeavour to write a heart-wrenching queer love story realistic for and true to its historical period setting.

The point is: the fic was completed quite recently and you should read it, or catch up with it if you haven't, you definitely should, thank me later.

It always rubs me the wrong way when people characterize atsushi as too much of a sweetheart. Like he IS a sweetheart but he's also snarky and sarcastic and most importantly he's very very angry. Do not forget this.

#I think its a product of like. People thinking that being kind and being angry are mutually exclusive #Which they very much are not #Atsushi is an extremely compassionate character who also happens to be angry!! These things do not cancel each other out #Like. He bites and screams and fights when someone hurts him or someone he cares about #He's been hurt so much and he's furious and bitter about it.#He's still a compassionate character. He's so so good. Being angry at people that hurt you is not bad.#He's not someone who just rolls over and takes whats thrown at him. He establishes this very early on #Idk. I just think taking away that part of him that's bitter and angry about the way he was treated #Is a major disservice to his character #Jesus this turned into a tangeant. I love atsushi a lot.#I'm a very angry person myself. I actually like that about myself!! I relate to atsushi a lot just as #Someone whos affected by mental illness in ways that often end up making me someone thats hard to be around #Atsushi is a tiger. He bites. OH. MY. GOSH. THIS IS REVOLUTIONARY. Smooches is brainrotting... I imagine that Capitano is a man who doesn't laugh much either. Laughing and smiling, those were such things way out of his expertise. He's used to being a quiet, reserved man, so there's no need for him to display such emotions... until he falls in love with you, of course. It still takes a lot to get him to laugh, considering these are all new things that he's exploring thanks to you. So when your usually silent and stoic husband laughs in front of you, you crank your neck so hard to see if you're actually hearing right. And not only did he laugh but... his laugh was so beautiful and comforting? Was that really your Capitano? Unfortunately, no matter how much you beg you can't make him laugh again in that instant... no, he can't laugh on command. Only when you happen to do something cute or funny. So now you make it your duty to try to make him laugh again so you can hear that majestical sound once again.

OKAY BUT CAPITANO SMILING WHILE KISSING YOU... UGH I FREAKING ADORE THAT. It's actually so cute because you never know what that man is thinking, with his helmet making his face a whole shadow, but when you kiss him and feel him ever so slightly smile... you know he really does love you huh? ;) I truly love the idea of teaching this man more human emotions bdwqfw
