Man do I have many favourite lines, but most of them don't work as single sentences D: So I'll put them under the read more!

💕What is your favourite fic you've written?:

Hmm... Most of my fics are self indulgent... Probably Underground, which I posted on Ao3, but the original version where they're not all JoJo characters! Or Heroes of Sword and Shield, which is my Pokemon x BT crossover. Or Heart's Beat, in which Joseph and Kars fight a stand that uses music to fight. Or the one where my OCs confessed to each other. Ugh, I have so many but I don't post any cause they're entirely self indulgent XD

🥳Why did you start writing fanfic?:

Easy! To put my favourite characters in the same story! I came up with a crazy crossover AU at the age of 10 or 11 and never let go of it. Originated with Sonic, Megaman, Megaman X, NiGHTS and Pit, but now it's mainly Sonic, Joseph, Allen and Mu. It was the first fic I ever wrote actually! Not sure if I should ever post it because it was... a trip. But! It had a lot of lore that I still use to this day! It's somehow still one of my main AUs, and the name has stayed as the Dimensional Defenders for all these years!

📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?:

First of all, I recommend you, @nibwhipdragon, for good Joseph content because MAN do you write abt stuff I only think abt. For Caejose, I recommend Riette! For Final Fantasy VII AUs, I recommend AimeeLouWrites! Also Battle Tendency But It's in College and is Almost Nothing Like Battle Tendency... is really good! I also recommend anything that's on my Ao3 bookmarks!

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you've learned about writing?:

Good question... A lesson from writing? Maybe to be patient and to let the story unfold. Sometimes you'll get a spark of inspiration, and when that happens you take it on full storm!

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?:

Dude I would LOVE fanart for one of my AUs. Alas! No one sees them D: That or fanart for my OCs...

The hedgehog looked down, only to see...

Allen's disembodied head. "Hello."

"Oh, hey Allen!" Sonic grinned.

"You named the heartless Shrimp?!" She almost scolded, ready to call upon her magic.

"Yeah, 'cause he's just a small guy!" The heartless in his arms cooed quietly. "Can I keep him? Please please please?"

"No! Now put it down before you get hurt!"

"Do we all need to get clothes?"

Everyone in the room stared at Sonic. A chorus of "Yep" and "Of course" resounded around the room.

"By the power of the Joestars," His sword emerged in his hand and he lowered into a fighting position. "I ANNOUNCE YOU DIED! Wait a minute..."

There was a pause. Then a snicker. Then Joseph, Kars and Caesar laughed.

"NO!" Caesar shouted through laughs as his voice peaked in the Discord call. "YOU DID NOT JUST DO THAT!"

Turning back towards the duo, I noticed Joseph shaking. Caesar cradled him like a scared cat, seemingly unsure what to do with him.

~

This was followed by Allen walking into his classroom that had all the chairs in test positions. Lovely.

~

"I'm going to get glitter all over the English block," Allen said, playfully deadpan as he attempted to flick glitter off his hands. He continued in the same tone, "I shouldn't have said that next to an open classroom."

Sonic let out a loud laugh. "Joseph should never be allowed glitter. It's just that he has loads of money."

~

"Zamazenta likes coke." Caesar stated as if it was a normal, day-to-day fact.

~

Cloud facepalmed. "And that's how the gang were defeated. They rode into a chasm and died."

Zack whined as Cloud reset from the last save point.

~

His mind was a frenzy, a blur as he panicked and tried to save himself. He couldn't process what was going on. Without thinking, he used his hand to break the plate.

And then he popped back at home.

Cloud, who was building the house, witnessed him appear next to him. "What did you do?"

Chrom scratched his head. "Uh... Pumpkin...?"

Cloud facepalmed.

The Lucifenian looked at him in shock; even if he was part wyvern, the winds would rip his boyfr- friend to shreds!

It was a bright and sunny day. Birds were singing, flowers were- Okay, enough of the happy crap.

So the fae could talk. Check.

"You took me away from my spring, shoved me in a room, and you mean no harm? Bullshit."

And it sweared. Or, rather, he sweared. Check.

"For a time I thought I would be alone all my life. Until I met Sonic."

"Aww~!" Joseph cooed.

"But now, thanks to my immortality, I live in fear of outliving him."

"Aww..." Joseph's smile dropped.

The swanna crowed. Sonic was quick to translate. "She says you're an idiot who challenged a legendary and needed saving!"

"Do I, Angel-Cakes?"

"Call me that again and I will personally send you to hell."

"Sure thing, Angel-Cakes!"

Heartbroken: Many things leave people heartbroken, including when: - Your friend backstabs you - That girl you likes turns you away - You get married to two ancient beings and your heart will explode in a month Joseph sighed. Just the usual.

In the end they forgot that Sonic stole Caesar's flag and he succeeded in his attempts.

I’ve been simping over your ‘human’ Nomicon design since it came out in Ninja-November. If you have any headcanons about them, would you please share?

ah, a fellow monster/eldritch horror enjoyer I see! thank you! <3 tbh that Nomicon design was like an one day revelation, because while I love all the human!Nomi designs I've seen over the years (and there are some banger ones, man), it hit me that we as a fandom really underutilize all the uncanny aspects Nomi possesses. So ye. I do have a couple hc.

Nomicon is an entity that doesn't have its own face and voice.

Whenever Nomicon talks to Randy it uses proxies in form of art/images/drawings/scribbles/writings. It gives strangely non-verbal vibes for something so cryptically eloquent! And whenever it does use a voice, its voice of the First Ninja (or more accurately his VA xD) , its first owner/wielder. When it uses a face, its usually the static/unmoving marble-like faces of Art or silly pen scribbles - both of which hold that uncanny valley look of something that looks human but really isn't. Not to mention the fact that it once literally stole Randy's face/body to teach him a lesson.

I like to think that Nomicon has a library of faces/visages/voices it can take on, but all of them are creepily unsettling because - what would a book know about how to be human? It's face moves wrong, the eyes are too wide open, its body is creepily still, the voice uses inflections like its copying someone else (and sometimes voice warbles and changes/overlaps with other voices because it has so many).

All of it gives these fae/cryptid vibes of creatures that steal voices/faces to trick people, but in this case Nomicon collects those faces/voices from its owners along with their memories (which is another messed up thing we collectively forget is very creepy lol).

Nomicon is an entity that doesn't have a body, and most importantly - hands.

The reason I gave Nomicon so many shadow hands is because, well, Nomicon is a book. Hands hold those books, so the hands are very important to Nomi. All those shadow hands? Are memories of all the hands that held it (mostly previous Ninjas, but also the Creep and some others). It remembers everyone who held it.

The fit- the hat and the cape are kind of obvious, it look like center of the cover and the cape looks like covers on either side with pages underneath. The weirdest addition I made - is the spaghetti noodle-doodle 'hair'.

It constantly fascinates me that Nomicon, besides the Greek Key/9 motif, has those sort of concentration circles that are also present during Mask/Suit transformation. It gave me thought of sort of weird halos i guess?? Which adds to creepy vibe, but in this case its biblically accurate angel / holy deity type of vibes.

Nomicon has very basic understanding of humanity.

For all the experiences/memories/personalities it was created from and it absorbed over the years, human things are a rather alien concept for the book. It's the reason Nomicon is so bad at its timing whenever it buzzes Randy. It just doesnt care that you are at school Randy, its trying to teach you how to be a better ninja!!! In some sense, it absorbed the most prevalent quality of First Ninja - the dedication to duty, the whole reason for its existence - to serve Ninjas to be the best they can. So, such human/mortal things as good grades/video games/a good nights sleep are very nebulous concepts to it.

Less of a hc but more of an observation/gripe but-

COME ON ITS NAME??? Ninjanomicon as in Ninjanecronomicon??? Because lets be honest its not just a book/guide for Ninjas its a book full of DEAD NINJAS??? LIKE??? In some sense all previous Ninjas, when they go through Ultimate Lesson, 'die' in the real world (because they are no longer Ninjas) and are preserved in Nomicon. And First is like deadass dead? (Plop plop too lol). So I feel like there should be more creepiness about that.

Anyway thats basically most of it, and sorry for silly doodles but i cant really draw creepy stuff xD

[How the rest of the colony apes react to you and Koba's 'friendship']

Summary: The other apes worry about your sanity.

Warnings: Platonic relationship with Koba (based off of my previous Koba request!)

A/N: First time writing for Maurice, Rocket and Blue eyes!!! I was so excited to see them included here 😭 I hope you enjoy anon!

Caesar:

He's already warned Koba multiple times to not take things too far, that just because you've decided that you want to follow him around, doesn't mean he can mistreat you.

Keeps a close eye on y'all when in vicinity, but he knows Koba better than others do.

Koba can claim he hates you as much as he does, but he hasn't done anything to truly drive you away, he could hurt you, bite into you with his canines and do damage but at most, he growls and tries to swat you away like a fly.

Koba also in the same vein will follow you around when you're off doing your own thing, especially if you decide to leave the colony on your own.

He's not slick, telling Caesar that he's off to rest.

Caesar literally sees Koba climbing trees to trail you. It's amusing just how much the bonobo is denial that he cares for you.

It's obvious to Caesar that a part of Koba enjoys the attention, and enjoys your company despite everything, so he doesn't interfere.

Maurice:

Actively tells you to leave Koba alone, he's genuinely not about the whole idea of you and Koba being together.

It gives him anxiety, he's not your father, he's not your family but he's concerned.

He'll talk to Caesar about it, trying to get him to put a stop to it but alas, Caesar says you're both adults, he can't control who you spend time with.

He agrees of course, and while yes Koba does show some semblance of...care for you, it doesn't change his mind.

Please you're stressing him out, give him a break and eat dinner with him and the children instead.

Koba is threatening to bite your fingers off for touching his berries and Maurice genuinely cannot tell if it's a valid threat or not.

Rocket:

Rocket doesn't include himself into the situation, but is another worrier deep down, he's a father, he can't help it.

I see him as the laid back chill uncle who's like 'Hey, do what you want to do but be careful.'

He'd had to step in a couple of times when he thinks Koba is genuinely out to harm you, hooting and calling for Caesar. This ends in him and Koba squaring off against one another and you frantically telling Rocket that you're fine.

By now he doesn't interfere, but he does keep an eye out, always fighting the urge to grab you and take you away from Koba.

Tries to offer you to spend more time with his previous wives, Ash or himself.

Blue eyes:

Blue eyes and you are kinda in the same boat, despite Koba's faults, Blue eyes does look up to his father's close friend.

Koba would never hurt Blue eyes, not without great repercussions, but he could hurt you, the tiny human that has no defensive measures against a huge bonobo, so forgive Blue if he's a little nervous at you pestering Koba.

The young chimp makes sure to check in with you after your random little fights with Koba, it doesn't matter how many times you tell him it's all in good fun, he will make sure you're okay.

He's worried, okay, he gets it from his father, Caesar has told him just how fragile humans are, how their feelings are easily hurt, it makes him treat you damn near like glass.

Side eyes you everytime you go to Koba's nest to mess with him.

Ash will try and make bets with how long it'll be til Koba tries and kills you as a joke, only for Blue eyes to choke on his spit and tell him off, baring his teeth and jostling his friend around.

"Do not make fun!" The young chimp signs frantically.

It's so weird... I hate everyone. Everyone has stupid interests and tastes. Just braindead things. Romance and fucking and fashion. And all of them have normal lives and normal families and once in a while they ask something about mine and I don't know what to say at all. And I want to be liked. Even if I have zero respect for anyone I want to like me. Is it weird?

I guess I'm just sad because I don't have that innate talent to pretend like I care about other people. Or maybe I wish someone actually liked me besides my family.

LUCIFER: 

“Why are you so mean to me?” Lucifer froze for a moment when those words left your lips, before quickly brushing them off. He’s a prideful man to a fault obviously. It isn't till hours later that the words start to sink in, he at first assumed you were just being a brat at first but after that, you had refused to talk to him for the rest of the day and it was only now, he was considering if he truly was being a bit to mean to you? No... no...it is the human that is wrong...but his brain continues to nag to him.

How he apologizes:  In a very subtle manner that makes it obvious that he still thinks he’s not fully in the wrong but wants you to stop ignoring him. He gives you a stuffed animal and a letter detailing what had occurred and how he maybe, just maybe...was a bit mean. If you accept that is up to you.

MAMMON:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  This hits Mammon hard, he immediately devolves into stutters and frantically tries to go back on whatever he said. Most likely call you names such as, 'stupid human' honestly. He knows how it feels to be called names all the time and for people mainly his brothers to be mean to him, and he feels really bad especially if you two have a close relationship.

How he apologizes:  Actually does say that he's sorry, and tries to butter you up with gifts he can't afford. He's still a massive tsundere about it tho, "All these gifts don't mean nothin' alright?! I just feel bad is all..."

LEVIATHAN:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Chokes on his drink and immediately start fumbling with his words. He completely devolves into degrading himself, calling himself worthless and a filthy otaku who ruined his friendship because he's so horrible. He cannot take the fact he might be mean...even if he sorta is.

How he apologizes:  He doesn't. He just degrades himself so badly you eventually kinda just start to feel bad. Though that doesn't mean you have to accept that apology at all. If degrading himself doesn't work he starts trying to just act like nothing is wrong, but then he starts degrading himself again its a cycle...

ASMODEUS:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Nearly pokes his eye out with eyeliner. He apologizes instantly, but it's not a good one, to be honest. It's something along the lines of, "Oh honey, I meant nothing by it. I'm sorry. Anyways-" Just brushes right past it. He probably doesn't even really think he's being mean. It isn't till you start ignoring him that it gets him...

How he apologizes:  Goes all out, a luxury spa day, gifts galore, praise and everything. He desperately desires attention and for people to like him, but the opinion he ultimately cares about the most is yours.

SATAN:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Breaks a glass in his hands instantly. Him, mean? Do you have any idea how much meaner he could be? Takes a deep breath and apologize for any actions you may have perceived as rude. That's right, perceived. He does not admit that he may have actually been mean.

How he apologizes:  That's it, that's his apology. It isn't until he considers how prideful and Lucifer-like he's acting that he genuinely reflects and apologizes for his actions. He thinks his words should be enough, so he doesn't shower you with gifts like his brothers as an apology.

BEELZEBUB:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Does not let this stop him from swallowing a massive burger whole like a snake. Apologizes immediately for making you feel unwelcome and offers you a single fry from his food. Only one. Honestly the sweetest boy tbh, just goes, "Oh my bad. I'm sorry." And goes on with his day.

How he apologizes:  Though he brushed it off at first and apologized, he still feels bad and continues to apologize over the next few days. Ends up giving you bites of his own food even more often than usual because he feels bad.

BELPHEGOR:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Laughs. He is not as sweet as his twin. He thought you were joking with him at first and brushed it off because he never considered that he may be a little mean. I mean he can be ALOT meaner, and he knows you know that given what happened between you two...He does not apologize until you start withholding cuddles because you're angry with him.

How he apologizes:  Basically says, "I'm sorry. Can I have cuddles back now?" Tries to find out what he did wrong, and ultimately tries to change how he acts to not be mean to you. Though he struggles because he's very sarcastic and sometimes comes off as very mean.

The story is set in England after the end of WWII. After spending most of the war as a WAAF (female branch of the Royal Air Force) Nadine has got a job with the Royal Mail, and goes as postmistress to the town of Avensley. Avensley is a small village near a market town, and it takes its name from the river Avensley, across which sits Avensley Hall, the seat of the squires of Avensley for centuries (listen, I can have one "Hamleys of Hamley since the times of Queen Anne" Gaskell joke. As a treat). Avensley Hall is at this point in time a rundown property; the old squire (as people still called them out of habit) and his wife died on a London raid, their daughter married a diplomat and is abroad, and the son, Percival, an architect, is the only one who remains at the hall, with his housekeeper. He was in the army, lost a leg in action in the middle of the Italian campaign, and now lives life as a semi-recluse at home. He has been mentally scarred by his experiences on the front and the sudden loss of his parents, and so between both ailments it's very difficult for him to do anything but linger on.

As you can imagine the story is mainly a romance XD and I'm shamelessly writing against tropes I dislike and around others I have a NUANCE take on, because... my story, I do what I want :P Nadine, for example, is a war widow; she fell in love with and rushed to marry a pilot, to 'chase away the ghost of death' that he felt about him, but he still died on a raid soon afterwards. James, the pilot, was a good man and a good husband BECAUSE THE EX DOESN'T HAVE TO BE EVIL. Anyways, she experiences a lot of shame because her family advised against it and she rejected the advice in a very... proud manner, so she's now estranged from them.

There's of course other characters at play, because part of the story is about how important community can be to a person's healing, and we all love the 'lovable and irritating neighbours in a village' trope (?) so you get the constable and the parson and the gossips and the inn/bar keeper and... and... there's the late postmaster's widow who for obvious reasons doesn't easily like Nadine and the niece that comes to live with her... there's an Italian architect, Giancarlo Domicelli (again, I am allowed the puns), who met Percival during the war (when Percival was in a field hospital where Giancarlo helped as a POW) and befriended him...

That's the general gist of it. The story is told mainly through letters Nadine sends her best friend, another ex-WAAF now married to a doctor and living in Dover, and letters Percival writes to his sister Eleanor.

CME 17x10 thoughts (and prayers)

Jesus Christ I’m finally home after accidentally sabotaging my own morning (okay sabotage may be harsh. I have a job now that I signed all the necessarily paperwork lol but I had to go around the city for hours. This Pacific time Midnight airtime is ridiculous, that’s 9 am for me. By then I usually have to pretend to be a functioning adult human being).

I don’t really do this usually, but it is the finale, so. I will try my hand and liveblogging. This will be long.

Some preliminary thoughts though:

I think Church and Jade both survive and it’s Mila who dies

I just don’t see any of the main cast dying. Maybe Rossi, but this show is attached to its actors so much that this would only happen if Joe wanted out, and I’m not sure I can see that happening?

But I really would have appreciated some implication that Voit was killed on someone’s orders to continue some kind of a plot thread? Realistically the writers probably haven’t decided on that yet lol Did like that we acknowledged that the Gold Star kids were victims but…at the end of the day who was the perpetrator?

How sick are you of the "TOH season 3 was bad because of Disney" argument?

I feel bad that I've been talking about the shortening as much as I have lately and this ask feels like a part of that. XD It's probably the one thing that the troll from a bit ago really got under my skin with and what seemed to piss them off the hardest. The idea that I was 'blatantly ignoring the circumstances' that led to the problems in the show.

But frankly, I just don't hear the argument being used much anymore. That might just partially be because at this point, I feel like I see more Amphibia art than I see Owl House art on my timeline because... Who is really defending this show at this point? It seems like even die hards are glancing back and fidgeting about it, like that person who I reblogged about the glyphs. That was a decently popular post for something that should have been controversial considering how theoretically important the glyphs are to at least the branding of the show.

S3 in general seems to have left a really bad taste in people's mouths and it's not hard to see why. When you had two and a half hours of content to give your story a proper bang of a finish, even if you can't make it all cohere thematically or the like, you should be able to do SOMETHING. That's WAY longer than most movies and TOH didn't have to do the first two act of establishment that most movies need to do. They had their players, they had their villains, they had their stakes and they never have to find an answer on their own to the Collector or Belos so they effectively already had their solution. They were setup to have payoff after payoff after payoff.

But I made an entire blog about how S3 could never have been great... Because what was there to payoff? Beating Belos is about the ONLY thing S2 left for the cast to do, especially once the second special came around and the interesting elements of the Collector were killed. He's just a sad but playful boy, just like Hunter was sad but mad and Amity was sad but smart. We had no other villains that we as an audience were connected to, all the character arcs were done, to the point where they have to make shit up for Willow so they can do SOMETHING with her and even that feels like shipping fodder, and the thematics were left so far down the road that... What can you say about the ending positively besides "I'm happy everyone is alive and seems happy where they are"?

None of these issues only arose in S3 of TOH though and I think that's the real problem for the fandom right now. Literally the longer the show has gone on, the more its inherent flaws in its writing become obvious as well as the fact that these writers simply aren't good enough to improvise off of the flaws in their own writing to make it better. We have no one who is Toriyama during the Cell Arc here where they can change on the fly and actually build off of what has to now be discarded. Or, hell, me, because I don't plan my stories from go but I take GREAT pride in being able to build on surprises I leave for myself on accident. Remember: The Power of Love did not start even with that title or Boscha planned to ever make more than joke appearances. Now it has a lot of people's favorite versions of both Boscha and Amity.

And that story is over a hundred chapters long. I had at least another hundred chapters of plans in mind. But when my brain stopped working for it and I decided I needed to write an ending so readers could be satisfied, I managed to do one in six parts that word count wise was probably at most 15k words. Not that long frankly but I was able to highlight the mended relationship between Amity and Boscha, how far Boscha had come socially as to be able to ignore those who might have gotten under her skin before, her better relationship with Luz, tie up the biggest loose ends and get them all together.

Was it entirely coherent? No. Was it as impactful as it could have been had I done all my plans? Of course not. But it was satisfying and true to the story and none of it wasted my audiences' time while still giving them an ending that was not only poignant to what had come because of how far Boscha had come but also just give the audience what they wanted. I knew what to cut and I knew what was important.

The Owl House never knew what was important to it though. Never met an idea it didn't like. So... How do you end a story that has never had a focus, clear thematics, plot, world or even characters? That throws everything into the kitchen sink and just waves away the elements in the sink that will stop them from adding new elements that will never get past the surface?

In a lot of spectacle that shows you were always a lot more shallow than you claimed and that's gonna leave a lot of people cold. I know it did for me, even well before the finale.

Writing Patterns Pt. 2!!!

Rules: list the last line of the same 10 fics you shared opening lines for and see if there's a pattern!

Tagged again by @zombiethingy - thanks for the tag!! It was really neat to look at all of these and see where it ended after looking at where it started.

(Note: I added an extra sentence to a few of them because I was noticing a pattern and wanted to make it more obvious lmao)

“Yeah,” she murmurs, “that sounds lovely.”

"Them fishies aren’t going to catch themselves.”

Patterns

Okay these last lines are a self callout, there are MANY patterns here lmao.

All of them end in dialogue.

Four of them follow the pattern of "Sentence," X character said softly/murmured/whispered, "continuation of sentence." (This is my favourite sentence dialogue pattern, but I definitely over-use it)

The words "soft" and "lovely" and "murmur" feature frequently (a general problem in my writing overall, someday I need to challenge myself to not use those words at all XD)

It's not really obvious in the last lines alone, but 6/10 of them also have a kiss in the last paragraph. Also the two in here have a kiss specifically being pressed to skin/top of head. Hmmm.

Anyway - a challenge for myself would honestly be to try ending something not with dialogue. Dialogue comes a lot easier to me than descriptive writing, but it would be good to change things up now and then! And looking at my 'first lines', most of them started with dialogue too.

Something else that's really evident is that I like ending things on a soft note where characters feel loved. I don't think it's a bad thing, I think it's pretty reflective of the type of fics I like writing, but it is good to think about!

Gotta be honest though, my absolute favourite last line is for heel, the paragraph its from is - chef's kiss. (She is not talking about animals.)

it's true that when Sanji gets more spicy, what makes his reaction tolerable is how the girls just shrug it off. they care not! they feel safe around him! Nami pranced around him in bikini, and our boy was more interested at first in flowers 😭

I absolutely adore the story and the characters! and the writing! I've cried like a baby while reading OP more times than I've had while consuming any other media. it just hits you in the heart with sniper accuracy ❤😭 and then makes you cackle like a witch. rinse and repeat. i love it.

(reactions still dictated by the story up to the very start of Impel Down) I'm still trying to fully put my finger on what exactly makes me love OP that much but I think that what gets is how much trust there is between the characters. how easy they love each other. (Zoro and Luffy? dear god, they are so good. 100% trust.) and how silly they can get. It's rare that I love absolutely everybody, yet here I am: I'm collecting my silly little boys and girls like pokemon. I will catch em all. gimme more.

I cannot get enough how emotive the characters are. when they smile it lits up the sky. when they cry I cry with them. when they goof off I watch them fondly but when shit hits the fan, I read with baited breath how my silly little goobers get serious. there is a whole rainbow of emotions and I adore it.

Oda writes characters so well, that even in their comical exaggeration, still feel like real people to me. Everything is for a reason, even the dumbness (that i absolutely love xD it's just amazing to me that even that has its reasons and wraps so well with everything)

And yes, sadly the Anime really kills characterization... Nami and Sanji's relationship is completely changed. They are not really friends in the Anime. Nami is not kind, ever, and Sanji is just interested in her as a sexy object. They are not friendly with each other... when in the Manga is obvious that they are friendly and chill most of the time.

Sanji adores her, yes, but in the Manga he is not just there to be her slave and please her. He has dreams and a beautiful relationship with Luffy too, something that the Anime decides to completely erase from existence...

The Anime transforms all the characters into one note (the one that they decide is funny for children or to sell merch): Nami is the girl who only screams and hits the others, Sanji is just the pervert idiot who fights all the time, Luffy is just an ugly goofball with nothing between his ears, Zoro is serious guy who is the comical relief and screams all the time, Chopper is a baby, Robin is a mysterious woman (who gets jealous of Chopper paying attention to other women)... etc etc etc

They are so reduced to this roles, that when something they can not edit out of the original story (because it's an pivot point in the story) happens, it even looks out of character!

Of course a lot of this is also amped up by the amount of continuous filler the Anime has, where they just butcher the characters even more...

It's a lot of work and as you see I am a slow writer xDu but I really want to get deeper into writing about how the differences matter a lot.

And finally I don't really agree with what people say about Zoro losing his smile post time-skip... at least in the Manga! The Anime can look like he doesn't smile so much anymore, i guess...

I feel like Zoro's default expression is calmer after the time-skip ^^ you can see how he is not frowning all the time like before, and he still has his cool smiles!

The reason why we have so little lores on Gods here is because most of the time, they solve the supernatural issues for us and we also solve our own supernatural issues so there isn't much to write about.

I mean there's a classic book that records miscellaneous strange tales in locals around the country, apparently there are 3 cases that involve Monsters harming humans and the Humans just solve it by: Eating, Beating the shit out of and Fucking the Monsters. Literally we can eat and fuck Monsters here

Ig the God's blood pays off even if it doesn't make us superhumans, there's an actual historical figure who has such an aura of greatness that even a God who made him angry before was afraid of him cuz his aura was THAT STRONG, that figure was a man destined for greatness and he did accomplished several achievements for the country and its People so he's so cool bruh

Yeah I feel like when Wukong knows that even the Humans can deal with evil otherworldly forces on their own, he's gonna send many complaints right to the Heavenly Court's front desk and it's mostly just:

"Well see here, this is what happens when everyone works towards having a healthy environment, peaceful life, equal progress and benefits for all, instead of being obsessed with maintaining a hierarchy, strict unfair laws and making discriminations that cause harmful actions to happen"

He's just packing when he knows they have fair policies for Gods and Humans here, it's better than having policies that favor the Gods more

Context : My mom and me forced him to read and watch Djats to see how he would react.

Dad reviewing things: Daisy Jones and the Six part I.

Warning : my father lacks of filter and takes no bullshit, so brace yourselves for hard truths said by an older man almost at his sixties, sorry 59 XD

Let's start with the Book rating : 5/10 (and he is being generous).

He liked : - Daisy and Karen. *Autors note : Especially Karen , he adored her.

- Warren laidback attitude.

- The book cover and Its cover writing font.

- The book writing font.

- The abortion story cause he found It original and brave to write about.

- Daisy takes no shit from Billy "as she should". Thats It!!! *AN : "I just read this shit because I LOVE you and your Mom, kid XD"

What He didn't like *AN : Its long but worth reading"

- The interview format present all the time It was too much, and sometimes boring to read.

-Also he found It lacked of complex vocabulary, too simple.

- The songs are "shitty poetry I can't imagine how they would sound. Don't look like real songs."

- He dislikes romantic books, especially those aimed at Young Adults " Why dont teens read good shit like Orson Scot Card, J.R. Tolkien or Úrsula K Levuin instead??" *AN: Of the Young Adult genre he Only liked The Hunger Games series. He thinks most teens are dumb...And It may be my fault for complaining loudly about some of them at home, as i work as highschool teacher XD.

- 70's rock stars men were unfaithfull and didnt regret It , they didn't gave a crap, period. No 70's man who liked a woman and was reciprocated by that woman just went and didnt have an affair with that girl later, dont be naive. They were lying because Julia Its the interviewer.

- Daisy stopping singing and becoming writter doesn't fit her and was loser behaviour, cause " she was the musically talented one she shoulve kept singing".

- Camila developement (?! ), he disliked her and called her fake , calculating and unfaithfull golddigger. "Kid Its obvious that She just married him after he got his music contract, hadn't he got it she wouldn't had married him...That IS a Golddigger in the making, Kid"Also she didn't visit her husband at rehab, may be a good Mom, but she is a bad wife".

- He found the book unrealistic and too obviously "written by a woman for other women as a rock and roll 70's fantasy" : 

1 - "Billy never relapsing Its not real. Period. Alcoholism doesnt work like that." 

2-  Camila and Daisy's final conversation.  "It isn't realistic and IS obviously a book scene. She should've dumped Billy. No woman speaks that calmly to her husband's lover".

3 - "Billy and Daisy's affair IS just not real"... I asked why and he told me that: 

 "Most men wouldnt even consider as wrong (or even as an affair) a non physical relationship"

All of his friends would see It like that...

As he said to me "Dont be naive kid, most men philosophy IS : No skin  = No  sin"  In spanish It was "Nada fue tocado = No hubo pecado" 🙄. 

He does think a non physical affair is an actual affair and considers it wrong and doesn't get why Camila IS with Billy, "because he is Hot and wrote her a lousy song? "Because he stayed the second time she gave birth, as if that were something meritory, every decent man should do that!!! "...(he hadnt watched the series yet so, imagine how he'll react XD)

*AN:  He is a rarity among men his group. When you see him you realise he IS a weird one: he doesnt smoke, he doesnt drink, he never lies in fact he IS too truthfull... never ask him if you look fat with a dress or a pair of jeans , cause he'll tell you the truth XD and he worships my Mom (as he should)...  

And I thank God for that weird blunt Dad of mine every single day.

Music Monday #252: BE:FIRST x ATEEZ - Hush-Hush release: July 2024 genre: Jpop cw: flashing, cyberpunk surrealism

It may or may not even be Monday any more by the time you read this (probably not), it's been one of those days, but I am determined, dammit. XD Or maybe just exhausted. Or both? Could be both...

As is all too common in Jpop, we didn't get a whole lot of lead time on this release, though looking back, it's pretty obvious this was one of the things ATEEZ was working on earlier this year and why they seemed to be spending extra time in Japan during NOT OKAY promotions. I knew it was going to be something special, because ATEEZ always bring innovation to the stage, but I wasn't prepared to be completely blown away.

I feel like I should start with the caveat that a lot of collaborations coming out of Kpop right now tend to feel less like a cooperative project and more like someone doled out lines and even if there is an MV, there's very little interaction between collaborating groups. Combined with the trend starting in late 3rd gen of lines being treated like the sole property of one member at a time, and that ability to interact gets even smaller. It's never zero, there's always the chorus (in theory), and the Japanese idol system has its own expectations ... that I am, admittedly, not as current on for reasons, so I was coming to this with that Kpop experience and expectation.

In hindsight, that was a complete mistake because of course ATEEZ brought Edenary with them to this project to co-produce at every level alongside the BMSG team. From the first line, we get a genuinely collaborative vibe that flows through the whole song where the rapping sections are the majority of the solo lines, traded between the two groups equally. BE:FIRST and ATEEZ share such similar tone and range that until the video came out, other than the raps and Jongho's signature high notes, I spent a lot of time being very unsure who was singing what. And surprised and pleased at how often it was at least two voices blending together. And don't think I didn't catch that line about the underdog who now wears the crown. ;) The lyrics are pretty meta, actually, talking about working hard and not backing down but also not looking to fight about who's the best because they already know the answer and don't feel the need to argue it out with anyone.

Speaking of the music video... look, I stopped counting how many times I've watched this days ago and I'm still stunned and amazed and picking out little things. Obviously this was a whole lot of green screen ... which actually makes it even more impressive in some ways because any time you have to green screen in an element (or two or ten), the artist is acting against a blank. At best, they might have had some early animatics to give the artists some idea of what would be going on around them, but a lot of the video was filled in after the fact. And yet all fifteen of them sell it like they really are in grand sweeping spaces.

For obvious reasons, I'm not ticking this as lore, but if you told me it was, I would believe you. Between Z-team's history of cyberpunk aesthetics and A-team's history of dreaming... I could easily buy this as the start of an alliance - eight men can't save the world all on their own, after all.

2024 is definitely shaping up as the year ATEEZ takes on world domination with a vengeance. BE:FIRST are still relatively new to their career, having only debuted in November of 2021 (plus their youngest is an '06-liner, oh god, the babies are taking over) and are already dominating in Tokyo and see this as a first step onto the world stage. Which is both fair and wise. ;) This one-track single is available now for streaming and/or digital purchase on most of the major platforms, as is a remix by m-flo's Taku Takahashi.

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

Hahaha, I don't think I have any wild headcanons, though there are certainly people who would disagree. Some of my headcanons are things that are basically universal. Most of the others are fillers that bridge gaps in what's on screen or page. To me, none of those headcanons are wild, they're completely obvious and logical because they're the only way canon makes sense! Let's go with one side of my dual season 7/8 headcanons where I change from one interpretation to the other from day to day: Mulder's brain disease was a real thing, and he absolutely would hide it from Scully. People hate that one. xD

Sure! Here's from the [chronologically] next installment of what is apparently now a canon-complicit "married on a dare" au xD

This must be what they called "fast friends". His superiors might have intended her as a spy, but even as she dutifully submitted her little spy reports, he soon learned that her thirst for the truth was a close parallel to his own and her integrity was unmatched. Much to his dismay, he found he really, really liked her. Worse, after just a handful of cases, he really, really trusted her. And the more he got to know her, the less he thought about their bet or its implications, until even his eidetic memory had nearly forgotten. She more than held her own in the boys' club that was federal law enforcement. She was tough; too smart for her own good and she knew it. Punchy, mouthy, and a little bit of a brat. She gave him a run for his money on almost every subject. She got her hackles up like a furious little guard puppy anytime someone other than her dared try to mess with him. And she followed him everywhere, even on the increasingly rare occasions that he didn't really want her to.  Samantha would love her, he thought. They'd be two peas in a pod. He'd never get a moment's peace again, and he would love every minute of it.

Hell yeah historically inaccurate updated!! I'm so excited it's such a good fic! I started reading the new chapter and kept having to put my phone down to process before I could keep reading it's just that good. You've got me getting up to walk around the room every few paragraphs haha. Aww man lots of feels indeed with this one it opened strong with grandpa feels and then kept ramping up. Aww Yuuji ignoring the fact that he's starving hurts baby please you cannot ignore the fact that your body is dying 😢. Sukuna must be going through it watching the man he loves slowly wasting away but trying to pretend everything is fine. They're so cute though spending time together clearly caring about each other, Yuuji nuzzling Sukuna's hand had me kicking my feet that's so adorable. Sukuna wondering if Yuuji only likes some of his expressions makes me wonder how much that man wants to be loved in his entirety. So many people can love parts of him *cough* his power *cough* but not the whole of who he is. Yuuji I hate to say it but I don't think life would have been better if you'd been born in this era *side eyes MoL* you might be better off having been born in the future. Loved the detail that Sukuna taking time to think about stuff is a sign of respect from him and if he responds to a person quickly he probably doesn't care much for them or what they're saying. Not only is it a cool characterization, it also shows how well Yuuji knows him as a person. Damn Yuuji knowing him well as a person lemme just sit with that for a bit. I do love that for them truly they both deserve to be known and loved. The fact that Sukuna is trying so hard to understand Yuuji makes me feel so warm and fuzzy. I don't even have the words to describe it he's got this new relationship unlike any other he's previously had and it's a learning process but because Yuuji came to him and treated him like a person he's finally able to learn what human connection is like and now he's growing because of it. There's a line in the epic of gilgamesh (I know I know very modern very relevant right now forgive me for the obvious comparison lol) that mentions the two main characters a demigod king and a wild beast man the line goes “this is the story of them becoming human together” that line popped into my head reading this Yuuji was lost drifting away from humanity due to his grief and pain pushing him into a cog mentality and that's not even getting into the dehumanization he faces from others as Sukuna's vessel and the dehumanization all sorcerers face from the system itself and Sukuna dealt with hate and discrimination from birth eventually that discrimination became benevolence prejudice when he became powerful but he was still distinctly other and unwanted and not seen as human by most. Held up as a god on a pedestal but that's its own form of dehumanization and even as a god they didn't like him much. Ugh the pain and isolation got them both but then they met each other. Yuuji got to breathe freely in the past and feel joy again and Yuuji treated Sukuna like a real person which Let them both become human again together ❤. No need for gods or cogs here. (1)

Historically Accurate Yuuji is saying his life is hard and he wishes he was in the past while MOL Yuuji is standing in the background staring at the camera like he's on the office XD (Thank you for that mental image, it got me a giggle!) A lot of what I want to touch in Historically Accurate is the theme of dehumanization, connections, and handling grief c: Painful topics, but also want to speak of hope, so seeing your take on the chapter has me so happy that I'm making the points I wanted to make! <3

Also having to step away and walk circles...that was me writing this dang thing XD Had to keep closing it to go write something else because I was getting all sorts of choked up 8'3
