damn, you and a few other cool ppl in the goldenlight community are really tempting me to just completely free myself and go public with it. tbh I probably will eventually, considering I’ve been fighting myself about whether or not I should write a fic about them for literal weeks now. and I’m slowly giving less and less a f lol. (this is the ace anon who used the 🤝 emoji and awkwardly called u comrade for some reason btw lmaoo)
but yes! the dynamic between Luz and Hunter is just so intriguing to me, all versions of them! them being besties is just as interesting to me as them taking on a more romantic relationship. (which is why specifically I want to write a very slowburn fic of them being genuine besties but then shit hits the fan emotionally) Like, I just feel they have so much potential to just understand and change with each other. Luz has been there for Hunter’s lowest lows, and Hunter even provided a listening ear for Luz’s troubles in hunting palismen about her fears about her future. The funny thing is that, yes, she never actually voices those concerns directly, but Hunter is perceptive enough of her to realize what she’s really thinking just by her throwaway comment, “At least you have your future figured out now.” I actually just rewatched the clip to get the exact quote down and I noticed that when Hunter tells Luz that at least she has a choice, Luz actually turns and looks at Hunter in surprise before flapjack comes into frame,,,,,, which I am not going to think about and overanalyze for the rest of the week. whether it was out of surprise that he was expressing his own discontentment or that he understood her and actively tried to comfort her,,,,hmphabwne,,,, both is good. talking about their relationship and how it progresses in Hollow Mind would be a whole essay of its own.
for me personally I prefer them being besties in canon over all else for multiple reasons, but god am I grateful fanfic exists so that they can be explored. haha sorry for the long ask but I needed to flush this out of my system .
YESSSS!!! YOU GET ME ANON!
So much potential for these two! I'm about to go feral!
I also love them as besties in canon. Like aroace Hunter my beloved and much prefer to remain platonic in canon but the romantic potential too? I will not shut up about it the potential! Like a ranted about on the goldenlight discord about it, but I said the same thing about how Luz is the first person to meet the REAL Golden Guard. She's the first person to trust him, even though he said, 'are you sure?' She's the only person that saw him at his lowest point. They just have this connection. In this essay, I will—
But if you do wanna share more of your thoughts I'm always here. Inbox is open.

The text connecting Chris and Jill is “戦友” or “kanyuu” which translates to “commrade in arms; war buddy”.?
in the Revelation's bio for Chris, they called him Jill's Brother-in-arms.?
So they don't have feelings for each other?
https://www.tumblr.com/chirikalovesjill/34500920927/where-did-this-picture-come-from-please-anyone
Hello Anon! I want to start off by saying that it's okay if you don't ship Chris and Jill romantically - not everyone does. I mentioned in a previous post how I can certainly see how others would only view their relationship as platonic or coworkers. Unfortunately, the link in your question does not work so I'm sorry I can't respond to that in particular. And I am not trying to sow any discontent or attacking, I'm merely responding and enjoying my preferred ship. I hope you can understand. If we can all stay positive and respectful that would be greatly appreciated. ^_^ Chris and Jill have been fighting BOW's since the very first game. Actual canon is that they survived through the whole mansion together. They've always protected each other. So 'comrade in arms', 'war buddy, 'brother-in-arms', 'partner', 'bestest friend', 'kindred spirits', 'love of my life' are all titles they would/could use to address each other.
Also, in RE1 original, Chris and Jill were written to be romantically interested in each other. In a recent interview, the live-action actor for RE1 Chris stated that he wanted to remain as respectful as possible to Jill's actress as she was much younger than him and he knew they were supposed to be romantically linked in the story. Source: ROE Plays RESIDENT EVIL 1 w/ Original Chris Redfield (Charlie Kraslavsky)
And this cute song that plays when they are reunited: Long Lost Friend Long Lost Friend Revisited - I love how bittersweet this is, very fitting In my mind, there is definitely some romantic sweetness to this song. But Capcom likes to keep them ambiguous or seems to want to retcon them, so I don't know. Ship them or don't. Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. I just like how mature their relationship seems - built on lasting trust and respect. Even in Death Island there were ambiguous hints of something more between them. Like, Chris staring at a smiling Jill, backlit by a beautiful setting sun, seems kind of romantic to me. ... Only to fist bump her seconds later. Guess he wanted to keep it professional and clean in front of his sister XD
Before I got into Resident Evil (Biohazard), I never really knew about any 'ships'. I had vague memories of RE2 (Cleon bby) and RE5 (my unknowing teenage self actually shipped Sheva and Chris!), but it wasn't until I actually replayed the games as an adult and explored more of the extended lore that I became a Valenfield fan (and unexpectedly, less of a Cleon shipper). And what cemented it for me even more was the supplemental RE5 guide translations!
I highly recommend any Valenfield shipper to read it here. (scroll down a little more than half way on the page to find the STORY section. It's after the different colored text timeline.)
Some quotes from this official guide book:
... Referred to as "the BSAA's ace", Chris has a brilliant track record preventing many bioterror attacks, but Chris' chest is filled with an indescribable emptiness. Many comrades have been sacrificed to repair the errors of fools. Even if the world's saved, these friends will never return. He had lost his irreplaceable former partner. ...
... Chris has nothing against having a female partner. In fact, the partner he regarded as irreplaceable was a female too. She's the perfect person whom Chris can totally trust and rely on, someone whom he believes is what he needed to complete any mission. Chris felt their teamwork was like an eagle able to escape from biohazardous danger. ...
... Chris is staring intently at a statue of a sleeping beauty. He's like a person looking at his lover through a mirror, where the other side of the mirror's a different dimension. ... The image displayed on the PDA screen issued by the BSAA isn't very good quality. The faint face is illuminated by a weak light, ... Despite that, Chris is able to recognise the person. He's been chasing this lead all the while, just so he can repair the missing piece of his heart. This can't be a mistake, nor an illusion. This is a fact. ... It's Jill, his old partner who sacrificed herself and jumped off a cliff in order to save Chris. Due to Jill's absence ever since, the BSAA have removed her from duty. But two years later, there's finally a sign that shows she may be alive after all, and this sign's appearing right in front of her partner who refuses to believe she's dead. The reason why Chris, who was from BSAA North American branch, was hoping to join this operation within Kijuju, was because he'd obtained some sort of lead leaked by Irving on the black market while he was looking for Jill. ...
... Jill, with her antibodies, has been administered P30--- Gifted with superhuman abilities, she's been given a powerful drug that controls her mind too. This evil drug is continuously injected into her body, torturing her to no end. Just as Wesker intended, Jill's receiving hell-like suffering. "I'm begging you, kill me!" ... Wesker's instruction to Jill before he leaves, which is to kill Chris who has finally come for her, plays mercilessly in her mind like an echo. The painful, unbearable order's destroying Jill mentally, and she's begging with her mind for her old partner, Chris, to end her suffering. "Don't worry about me! If this goes on I'll only end up killing both of you! Shoot me, please!" Despite that, Chris refuses to give up. Chris screams like a beast at the brainwashed Jill. He promises that even if it means giving up his life, he's going to free his partner with whom he has finally reunited, from her curse.
But again, I believe Capcom will keep their relationship more ambiguous and open to interpretation - I think they want to keep all potential shippers content. And they certainly seem to be moving towards a more 'just a good friend/co-worker' angle than before.
Which, in my opinion, cheapens the over arcing story (RE1 - 5) and relationship - but that's for another post to ramble about, I suppose.
No hard feelings if you're not a Valenfield shipper. They have a good friendship and I can totally understand if people only see them as that and nothing more.

Do you think time flows differently in Remnant when one is in the Ever After? It looks like Jaune didn’t age much when he first met Alyx and Luis and when he met team RWBY. How do you think it could affect a potential reunion with RWBYJ with the others in Vacuo? Would also love to hear your thoughts on potential RG reunion and hugs. Thank you!
Hi there Slip!
That is actually something I have pondered about. Personally I would like it if there was some kind of time difference between Remnant and the Ever After since I’m not in favour of the time RWBYJ spent in the Ever After being rendered pointless by the time they return home in the sense that while they’ve been gone for what seemed like days or years in respect to Jaune, on the other side, it had only been more minutes since they were gone so the others didn’t get to really process their absence.
I would be genuinely disappointed if Oscar and the others barely had any time to process their comrade’s presumed deaths if RWBYJ simply returned at the exact moment in time when their friends all arrived in Vacuo.
I want the adventures in the Ever After to have an impact on the whole team including the ones who evaded falling into it. For me, I like the concept of a two to three year time skip between the rest of the hero team back in Remnant while RWBYJ have been in the Ever After.
Some fans and theorists have been hoping for that and this squiggle meister is all for it as well. I want this time skip to happen mainly because I’m curious to see what Ruby’s reaction would be if she were to return to Remnant to discover an older, more battle-hardened Oscar at age 17 who had basically assumed the role of leader in place of her and Jaune since both of them were lost to the Ever After.
I’m also curious what a 16 to 17-year-old Oscar Pine would look like and behave.
Tumblr media
Plus I also like the potential irony of the show-runners potentially erasing the two year difference between the Rosegarden pair since if Ruby were to return to Remnant having not aged at all during her time in the Ever After while Oscar did by three more years; then technically the two would be a lot closer in age by the time they reunite. Ruby will still be 17 going on 18 while Oscar will be 17 too. That would be genuinely hilarious if this came true in the canon XD
That aside, I feel like what the writers are gearing us up for is Ruby not being the same person she was when Oscar first met her.
I feel like by the end of this volume Ruby will have some kind of major identity crisis.  A part of me doesn’t want this volume to end with Ruby being 100% fixed by the Tree. I feel like Ruby is expected to change in more ways than one and become someone else. Or rather something else that isn’t Ruby Rose.
If Ruby isn’t herself anymore and has to live with adjusting to becoming a ‘different person’ while others still see her as her old self then who better to share in/help her through this kind of development than Oscar who is more or less going through the same thing.
Bottom-line, I feel like Ruby’s experience in the Ever After could potentially lead to her relationship with Oscar becoming closer/stronger than it was before.
If the recent episode’s events proved one thing to me is that Oscar matters a lot to Ruby. In respect to what I perceive a reunion between these two would look like---I dunno. It will really depend on how this volume ends in the next two episodes.
Tumblr media
It’s like I said in this recent post from yesterday---
I can either see Ruby reacting to Oscar negatively, being too traumatized by the image of her killing him in cold blood as a result of Neo’s illusions to the point that she refuses to interact with Oscar; believing that the best thing for him would be for the two to not be as close as they were becoming since Ruby would be too scared to lose Oscar and the next volume will be about her and Oscar rebuilding their friendship; maybe even finding something deeper between them by realizing just how much they both mean to one another.
Either that or Ruby wouldn’t be able to contain her relief at seeing the real Oscar---to know that the nightmare version of him she saw in the Ever After was just a fake and she still had a second chance at protecting the one true Oscar who she cares about deeply. That being said, this could lead into a very touching hug moment between the two---one that us RG fans were starved of in V8.
It can go either way.
Depending on how V9 ends, I feel like in the next phase of the story (granted that V10 is greenlit), it can spark a big change in the dynamic of Ruby and Oscar’s relationship. I don’t know what the showrunners’ intentions for these two are but a part of me still wishes to believe that these two are meant to become closer. Each season just gives me more and more hints that that’s the case but who knows.
For now, these are my thoughts on that. I hope this answers your question m’fam.

FFXIV Write 2021 #21: Feckless
(a/n: Another quick rush to submit this, so there is definitely some clean up near the end of this I’ll have to do when I post this edited for ao3 XD
But I realised I hadn’t written a job specific piece yet all month, and I was reminded of some astro fluff I’d done last year, which I suppose is tentatively mentioned here? If you want to read that and more of my WoL’s job learning habits, it’s here; Shuffle
But yes, a mix of wanting to write job stuffs - Jannequinard being the feckless one here, the inspo for this piece - and maybe have a Scion meet a job trainer, in this case Alphi. Which def makes me want to add another section to this given the trainers in question...but that’s for later edits, I already rushed this greatly aha.
Also, after sticking to using Fhara to refer to my WoL, and sticking to such situations where people would only know her as that, I finally got to try using “Fufu” as an adventuring alias with a crowd that would only know her as that. Finally representing the idea I’ve long had now. XD
Set after 3.2 and all that happened then. This is kind of taking my WoL’s penchant for taking on extra jobs more for the experience than to dedicate entirely to it, but then mixing that with her desire to do more to help her companions when she feels rather hopeless and lost.
Word count: 2006)
The air in Ishgard was tense following the failed peace conference in Falcon’s Nest, with uneasy whispers filling the cobbled streets and nervous glances to the skies. Alphinaud could scarcely blame the people for their wariness, having heard Nidhogg’s warning for himself. So set on revenge, he had even renounced his own kin, set on having the blood of Ishgardian and dragon alike to stain the land. And Estinien would be the one to administer the attack, against whatever will he would still possess.
The sight of his friend in such a state, the prone body of Vedofnir beneath him, skewered on his lance, had chilled Alphinaud at the time, and even still to recall it. Alongside the image of Aymeric, primed with a bow, ready to shoot his own comrade without hesitation...were it not for Nidhogg’s timely departure, that would be another companion sacrificed in the name of war.
In amongst his tormented memories of that calamitous day, he recalled Fhara’s conflicted expression. In amongst the rising roars and jeers of a hungry crowd, they were in their own bubble where not a word was said, only the share looks of pained terror at the turn of events, yet even her own fear seemed so much more. It was only later, overhearing the Fortemps family discussing the conference that he had learned more of what had happened that day, and Fhara’s own struggles with the conference, to put it lightly.
Afterwards, Fhara started going for more frequent lessons at the Athenaeum Astrologicum. So eager was she in her studies that she was often away from the manor or out of the city for days at a time. Alphinaud knew she was only keeping busy, and that he had no reason to fear for her safety, but eventually, after a few brief greetings in passing at the manor, he found himself desiring her company proper.
For all the bustle the Athenaeum Astrologicum had been put under in the recent weeks, it was surprisingly peaceful the day he arrived to visit, a welcome reprieve from Ishgard’s otherwise heavy atmosphere. Only a few students milled around within the building, hard at work studying star maps or tomes. The receptionist stood to attention at Alphinaud’s entrance, pushing aside a tome that had clearly been giving him some stress, the frustrated creases giving way to a welcoming, if affected smile.
“Good day, my young ser,” the older elezen said with a bow, “What manner of business brings you to our humble hall? A prior meeting or a dire emergency?”
“Nothing of the sort, sir, I’m merely looking for a friend,” Alphinaud stated, looking around the small space, trying to catch a glimpse of a blonde tail or the familiar pigtailed head he knew, “I’m aware that she’s made use of your establishment for study purposes?”
“Study purposes? Ah, I see,” the receptionist brightened up, after an initial look of curiosity had crossed his face, “You must mean the ever charming Miss Fufu. She does indeed study here under our own Lord Rufin, but she is out at the moment on an errand. Although I’m quite certain she’ll return soon, if you don’t mind waiting.”
“I wouldn’t wish to take up space, I’d be more than happy to return later-” Alphinaud started, already making for the door, when the other man quickly said, “Come now, there’s scarcely anyone here for you to trouble! And with how much work needs getting done here and how eager the young miss is about assisting us, you’d be better waiting here to catch her lest she runs off again.”
“I...I suppose knowing her, she does have an unfortunate tendency to take on more work for herself than is necessary,” the boy mumbled, ignoring the mild pang of guilt at how often he had given her that work in the past, even if she hadn’t ever questioned it or limited herself. He’d already promised her that he wouldn’t continue to blame himself for past mistakes.
“Then stay a while, all the better to wait with company, right?” Yet before Alphinaud could agree, if only to cease the chattering man and resign himself to a corner to wait, the sound of footsteps from the back stairwell seemed to make the receptionist’s grin fall to a worn grimace.
“If I were to ask now, how much is her work that of her own, and how much of it is meant to be yours? Even if you wish to say she took it on willingly, need I remind you that you’re still behind in your own studies in comparison? And I would be very surprised if you say you’re taking the time now to read up on your necessary materials while you’ve chosen to stay behind here.” The voice of the barrage of questions appeared, a hyuran woman with cropped purple hair and wearing a long white robe not unlike that of the city clergy, and with a firm disappointed frown aimed directly at the other man.
“How kind of you to join us Lord Rufin,” the receptionist coughed, attempting to give a placating smile, “Although I was under the impression that you had other business elsewhere.”
“And I returned while you were away from your post,” she replied, expression unwavering, “I did assume you were off assisting with whatever the Observatorium needed, and I would understand given the current troubles in the city, but if it turns out it was another pointless meeting with a young lady-”
“Not at all! My uncle has me far too busy for such arrangements, I assure you,” he scoffed, “Have some faith in me. And some faith in Miss Fufu, she offered to deliver my missives so that I would have a chance at further study.” The woman, Lord Rufin, narrowed her eyes, but didn’t press him further, only nudging his cast aside tome back in front of him, and then turning to Alphinaud.
“So, you’re a friend of Fufu’s? She has spoken somewhat of her companions, but most of our time together has been advancing her studies in astromancy,” she said, casting a quick glance across the boy, as though taking stock of him. He would’ve felt uncertain of the gesture if it weren’t for the friendlier tone she addressed him with.
“Aye, she has said that she found the time to learn such arts. Although I’m rather surprised that it appears to be the Sharlayan variant of healing magicks. I would’ve thought Ishgard opposed such methods,” Alphinaud nodded, noting the star globe hung from Rufin’s back. He did recall the first time Fhara had showcased her small talents, so long before her foray into the Aery, before many of the disasters that had followed them. Minor though they were, she did have an aptitude for some healing spells.
“They were, at first,” Rufin smiled, “But with enough work and convincing, plus admittedly the Holy See’s...diminished say in matters around here, some few folk have been willing to take on the arts. It helps that even outside of any fate reading skills, astromancy is a boon to have on the battlefield, something many of the soldiers have been keen to have for aid.”
With a glance over her shoulder at the begrudgingly studious elezen at the desk, she added, more quietly for Alphinaud only, “And I suppose I have to admit that, for all he’s rather feckless when it comes to his studies vs Miss Fufu’s enthusiasm, Jannequinard was a great help in getting interest to take off amongst the other student here, and getting us the chance to showcase our skill in the first place.”
“I see,” Alphinaud nodded in response, noting the name and recognising it as a notable - for many reasons - Durendaire lord, however his curiosity was taken on another note, as he asked, “But why come all the way here to teach? Even if Ishgard eventually allowed it, knowing the Forum…”
“Yes, we had some letters and disagreements sent our way,” Rufin huffed, waving a hand in dismissal, “But in the end, they didn’t try to stop us, so I’m not going to worry about it.” Alphinaud suspected otherwise, noting how quickly she brushed aside the topic, plus his own experience overhearing his father at work, but chose better than to pursue it. It wasn’t any of his business.
At that time, the doors burst open, and Fhara appeared, panting heavily as she swept into the room, the skirts of her long gown flourishing behind her as the last of the chill wind caught it.
“I’m back! Sorry I took so long, I got rather turned around in the Crozier delivering some of the messag-” Her eyes widened in surprise as she caught sight of her friend. “Oh, Alphinaud! I wasn’t expecti- I mean, is everything alright? Did something happen?”
“Calm yourself first,” Rufin chided gently, “You’re clearly quite flustered.”
“Please, nothing is wrong,” Alphinaud nodded, taking a seat from the table and guiding his friend to sit, “I was merely here waiting for you.” Some few seconds passed as Fhara breathed, trying to recollect herself. A tome snapped shut, and Jannequinard stepped out from the desk. “Lord Rufin, perhaps we should give these two a moment, given that the young lad came all this way to meet with his companion. And if you would be so kind, I could do with some help understanding a page or two here.” Rufin raised an eyebrow, but nodded, casting another glance at the pair before leaving with her coworker.
When the sound of footsteps ascending up the wooden stairs faded, Fhara turned to her friend and asked, “So, are you alright?”
The boy was briefly taken aback. “I’m perfectly alright. It is you I would ask that of.”
“Me?” She blinked.
“Well, it has been some time since we’ve properly seen each other these past few days. I know that you look for things to pass the time and keep you busy, of course, but I’ve been rather worried that you were almost too busy. And it seems so given how you seem rushed off your feet here.”
“It’s nothing like that!” Fhara gaped, although a guilty flick of the ear was already betraying her, “I’m just here learning from Rufin. Everything I’m doing is part of that, or doing some idle favours to show my appreciation.”
“Or lightening another’s workload to busy your own mind?” Fhara flinched at the accusation.
“But why? You’ve never been one for the healing arts other than as an idle study, more so for emergencies. I don’t wish to sound as though it’s odd to see you so invigorated for a subject, but why throw yourself into it now?” Fhara didn’t answer, her head turned down and gaze focused on the floor.
“...Is it because of the peace conference?” No reply.
“The Vault?” Her tail flicked.
“...Ysyale?”
“Yes,” she finally replied, a quiet mumble half buried into her chest, “Ysayle, and Minfilia, and Haurchefant, and everyone else. Estinien and Vedofnir, and Honoroit and Emmanelain, and that woman that tried to insight an outburst at the conference, and everyone else.” She finally looked up, wearing a guilty smile with tears already seeping from her eyes.
“I just want to help. But I don’t know what to do.” An ache pounded in his chest to see her weep. Even for someone so emotionally open, she was normally of the cheery type. To see her cry and bemoan how she couldn’t help everyone...
“You know you aren’t alone in this. I am here to help you- all the Scions are.”
“I know-”
“Don’t throw yourself into this if it's not something you really truly want. If it’s only for the sake of others. You would only bring yourself harm if you force it upon yourself.” Fhara sniffed, brushing aside the tears.
In that moment, he swore he wouldn’t leave her to shoulder it alone. He had already asked so much of her. He could spare his own strength to support her as well.

Hey, thanks for the super answer you gave me; however, I think Mitsuri knew about Shinobu's death, when she was facing Nakime she said "Shinobu san was smaller than me, she did her best and risked her life!" ; I don't think it's a coincidence that he said this sentence after her death and speaks of her in the past tense. I can certainly be wrong. It would have been nice if Gotouge showed us Mitsuri's siblings and how they reacted to her disappearance***continued in the next question
「Cont.」
*** It would have been nice to know what Tengen was thinking, who knows what she was thinking while her comrades were fighting. I'm too curious 😂 if you think about it Mitsuri was the only one who had a normal life, I mean: parents alive, siblings (never shown😫) she got along with, she didn't live in poverty; Kny is a manga I love, so I can't help but ask myself certain questions (and there are a lot of my questions). Thank you very much again for your previous answer and for your attention😌
I went and flipped back through volumes of battle and found that panel in Chapter 164, you're totally right. I had totally forgotten about this panel and this throws a good chunk of my interpretation through a window, like so:
Tumblr media
Ergo, this leaves me falling (heh, falling) back on there being no time for mourning, the Pillars needing to hold themselves together in the heat of battle (and to an extent being experienced with loss on the battlefield), and simply no time in the story for getting to everything we'd love to hear about or see.
And here I bring up my own fanfic again, for I too have thought so much about these things. XD Twice now I've written fics in which my main characters visit the Kanroji family post-canon, so it necessitated developing some personalities for the mysterious younger siblings. I plan on significantly editing that part in the fic I wrote last summer, but in the more recent fic I had tons of fun working them into the plot of that chapter. A sketch for fun in my notes which aided me in writing (plus a sad Giyuu??), I gave them names with food puns, included all Mitsuri's pets, and troubled Sanemi with one of the sisters having a crush on him, hahaha.
Tumblr media
As for Tengen, he never struck me as being especially close to any of the other Pillars, but I like seeing how he developed in retirement. While I'm sure he cared and it affected him, he probably expected most of them not to survive that night.
That said, I'm happy he and Giyuu later formed a friendship (according to the second fanbook), and I wonder if he and Shinjuro grew to have a friendship too. There's a lot I would have loved to have seen for all the Pillars if they could have attained that post-canon peace that was heavily hinted in the end of the manga, especially the extras that came after the first publishing.
But they got a whole lotta trauma to work through before really bejng able to embrace that peace, am I right? Hence, fanfic.

My version of SAO "Everyone Lives" AU
I need to get out my ideas of what would happen if most of SAO's Major Character Deaths got averted before Lycoris is released (except the villains and Sachi & the Moonlit Black Cat guild's death, there is just no way to erase it without undoing Kirito's development in Aincrad). I know SAO Gameverse/ Lycoris wouldn't follow any of my ideas, so I just want to share my view. Who knows, maybe this will become a huge fanfic some day.
Tumblr media
Note: This post is full of multishipping/ non-canon shipping pandering headcanons/implications (the biggest ones are Eugeo/Kirito/Asuna & Bercouli/Fanatio/Dakira), as well as obvious heavy Alicization WoU and Moon Cradle spoilers, please beware. I also lightly included some game-only Alicization characters (Eydis and Medina) because I like them.
1) Cardinal is alive and she has high authority enough to install kid Alice Zuberg into a free Cube to make her a living entity separate from Alice S30
In most recent live Q&A Reki said that while writing Alicization the first scene he wrote is the scene of Kirito and Alice S30 climbing back into Cathedral and Kirito convinced Alice S30 to his side, he mentioned Alice's Synthesis is an irreversible one and it aligns with my reasoning of how Zuberg & S30 are different Fluctlights so I'll keep the same settings in here. So how would this affect everyone's treatment to the 2 Alices?
- Kirito would be glad that he doesn't have to "kill" any Alice just to keep one;
- Selka would be extremely confused, but I think she would eventually accept happily that she has 2 sisters now;
- Eugeo... would have even more complicated emotions than anyone, even more than he imagined. From my own experience, during university period, I went to a class reunion full of friends from middle school, and I reunited with a classmate friend whom I used to like a lot as a person. But for some reason I couldn't like his adult self as much as his middle school self even if he still isn't a bad person. To me he changed way too much in how he behaves and how he presents himself that I can't like his adult self like his middle school self, and I was shocked that puberty could change a person that much. Same to myself, I have changed a lot in my puberty too, and he also said I'm not the same as before any more. Back to my AU, I feel like Eugeo and Zuberg might mirror what I felt when I reunited with my classmate. Eugeo used to describe Alice Zuberg like the sun on the blue sky and that image of her is his source of happiness whenever he's sad, while Alice S30 is so unapproachable and cold like ice. Eugeo being indifferent to S30 is one thing, but to Zuberg it's like reuniting with a friend in elementary school who stayed the same and both would be shocked as Eugeo's the one who changed so much due to puberty. In ARS game Zuberg even said that while being jailed in Cathedral's ceiling, Eugeo (and everyone else) grew so big while she stayed the same and she's upset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I think in the end Eugeo would still end up letting Zuberg go instead of forcing her into the fantasy he held up for so long. Interestingly Eugeo himself already muled over this in LN when he was reading books in Cardinal's library, that the best outcome they could hope for is to give Zuberg back to her body and send her back to her family happily while he continued his adventure with Kirito because they're being chased away by the Church.
2) (Super self-indulgent) Bercouli/Fanatio/Dakira
Tumblr media
Dakira: "Fanatio-sama is so amazing and dazzling and I love her, but she has Commander Bercouli so I can only be her subordinate and admire her in silence..."
Fanatio: "Dakira is so hardworking and loyal, she has so much potential I love having her with me but then what would Commander think..."
Bercouli: "Don't worry I'm cool with it, take care of our Sub-Commander, Dakira. And it's not like I can stop my knights from flexing their gayness..." *eyeing Eydis Synthesis 10
Super spoilers: Even if Bercouli didn't die in the War I think he would eventually unfreeze his age and find an ending for himself when he thinks he's lived too long and done enough for the Knights many years later. He would entrust Fanatio and her son with him to Dakira before he passed away, and Dakira would become Berche's 2nd mother (instead of Fanatio taking care of the kid alone in canon).
3) (Super self-indulgent) Eydis S10 x Alice S30 and Medina x Sortiliena
I could never imagine I would like any gameverse girls before but ARS and Lycoris manga have sold me Eydis x Alice S30 and Medina x Sortiliena OMG so I ship them hard in my AU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4) Super self-indulgent Eugeo/Kirito/Asuna
(You guys who have stayed with me for years should have known already ara ara)
I don't feel it would not be that different from this excerpt from HR manga (seriously this artist really vibes with me I wanna have a drink with him sometimes).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone: "Don't you think they're just too close? Aren't you afraid Asuna?"
Asuna: "Yeah I should, should I? But like Kirito seems so happy with him around like no others could and I feel he's a good boy so I can let them be"
We also should have more Eugeo & Asuna's interactions of chewing on Kirito's bad habits XD. I also feel like they can find solace in each other being fellow victims of sexual exploits from adults, in some aspects that Kirito can't fully understand that only fellow victims can.
4) Yuuki is alive and comes into UW as Goddess Lunaria
Poor Moon Goddess Lunaria, she's the 4th God of the Human Empire but even Reki forgot her in WoU and only mentioned her more in Moon Cradle. Anime and games also made it worse for leaving her out completely :(. So I want her to get her role in my AU as the Goddess of Dreams. Yuuki extremely fits her role, not to mention she cosplayed the Moon Princess in MD before. More Stacia Asuna x Lunaria Yuuki interactions are here of course.
Tumblr media
5) Eugeo and Lunaria Yuuki participate in WoU with everyone
- Lunaria would be an amazing fighter of course. I feel she would be even more deadly than normal now that she has to start fighting with human souls on the line, whether they're real or artificial.
- Eugeo would be a huge AoE Life Absorber and Healer and also becomes destructive sometimes borderline death. But fighting with others will help him start seeing his own values and gain his own will to survive for others. And he'll become the first proper Knight in UW without going through Synthesis.
6) WoU changes and outcome in my AU (huge spoilers)
- Kirito got unconscious and damaged for a while, but without self-destructing his own Fluctlight from guilt of Eugeo's and other comrades' deaths because Eugeo is still alive and took care of him, so he eventually healed, at least quicker than canon;
- Asuna, Sinon and Leafa came to UW at once to help heal Kirito. There is no facepalming Asuna vs Alice fights since Alice didn't develop some level of Florence Nightingale effect towards Kirito (according to Wikipedia: "The Florence Nightingale effect is a trope where a caregiver falls in love with their patient, even if very little communication or contact takes place outside of basic care. Feelings may fade once the patient is no longer in need of care.");
- Sinon won against Subtilizer instead of the anti-climatic outcome in canon;
- Kirito & Eugeo fought together to win against PoH while Asuna and other girls kicked ass to huge armies;
- When they won the War the acceleration ratio of UW was changed to 1:1, Human Empire and Dark Territory made peace with more trading, labor & technology exchange treaties that benefit both. Alice S30 & Eugeo came to real world through Ichiemon & Niemon robots and chilled in ALO while Kirito beat up Kikuoka for hiding from him the actual purpose of Alicization project, and thus Kirito forced him not to use his friends as war soldiers.
- Alice S30 chose to go back to UW in the end since she finds her most values as being a Knight, coming to events of farce in real world is not her thing, and she wants to spend time with her Zuberg family. Meanwhile Eugeo already parted with his family after dumping on them a big bag of his Knight's salary money, saying that they can live prosperously without him working his ass off for them now, and he never comes back. He still comes and goes from real world to UW to do duties as a Knight who helps connecting real world & virtual reality, and sometimes visits the Zubergs with Kirito & Asuna. In real world he lives as an all-purpose robot in Kirigaya resident, while ALO he lives in the log house and takes care of Yui whenever Kirito & Asuna are busy in real world.
THE END.

Sinbad no Bouken 181.
This is only a fan translation, don’t forget to support the official releases of Snb and the MangaOne app if you can, and
►[Please don’t repost without giving credits. If you use this translation, don’t forget to share the link to this post!]◄
Thanks to @soreita for the raw! ^^
Night 181 “ High king of the Seven Seas”
Tumblr media
Page 1
Narration: “The Seven Seas Alliance” agreement and the reconstruction of the “Kingdom of Sindria” …
After overcoming those events, Sinbad moved on to the next action.
 …
Night 181 “High King of the seven seas”
 Sinbad: fufu…
It’s been a while, huh?...
“Dungeon”!!
 Page 2
 Narration: That’s right!
The true nature of the adventurer Sinbad, is to be a “dungeon” conqueror.
Sinbad: hey hey, let’s go you guys!
Sharrkan: Masrur! Who can take down more enemies? It’s a match!
AH!!?
Ja’far: Don’t get too excited, Sin.
Narration: the first thing that Sinbad, who brought together the Seven Seas Alliance, thought about was…
“In order to keep the world subjugated, we must maintain the balance of power that each nation possesses” …
 Page 3
But, “Metal Vessels” and “Dungeons” throw off that balance.
If that’s the case, there is one action he must take into hands…
Furfur: I am the spirit of ecstasy and reigning darkness,
“Furfur”
I recognize you as a king vessel.
 Page 4
Captured!
34th Dungeon, “Furfur”
Narration: He conquered the dangerous “Dungeons” with his own hands and collected the “Metal Vessels”
That would certainly be the safest way. And above all, He thought that would lead to strengthening his “own country”
  Page 5
41th Dungeon
“Focalor”
 42th Dungeon
“Vepar”
 Judar: HAA ?!
Sinbad, you bastard!!
  Page 6
You are conquering the “dungeons” that I summoned as you please!
Sinbad: hahaha.
It’s because I can’t leave those dangerous “dungeons” there as they are.
Are you people also planning something again? I don’t know but, stop this immediately, Judar.
Judar: Hum. I thought he had died that time, now he’s standing in my way…
Aren’t you Interesting?
  Page 7
Judar: why don’t we try working together? Sinbad…. Nah,
Stupid lord!!
 49th Dungeon
“Crocell”
Conquered.
 Sinbad: ….
I’m not done yet.
I still need more.
 Narration: But,
  Page 8
Sinbad: Wha…. What did you say!?
 61th Dungeon
“Zagan”
Zagan: Because, A human who has so many “Metal vessels” clinking over him in such a way,
I don’t want my cool “dungeon” to be destroyed by someone like that...
To begin with, I hate humans.
I don’t want anything to do with such an insolent guy!
What I’m trying to say, is that I’m not letting you in!
 ….
Sinbad: It’s useless, isn’t it?
Which reminds me, I had a hunch when the 7th djinn…
*Crocell manuscript: “enough is enough” *
told me that.  I guess he was talking about this….?
  Page 9
Ja’far: What are we going to do? we can’t afford to leave that “dungeon” as it is, but…
Sinbad: Uhm…
Ja’far: Or if it’s only about the “Metal Vessel”, one of our comrades could also conquer it…
Sinbad: They can’t.
The power to be king, is only mine.
That alone*, I’ll never do.
(TN: *letting others capture dungeons, I guess he had no choice in the end)
..
Sinbad: That’s right. How about we do this?
Tumblr media
   Page 10
Village chief:  ….
….
You say,
An island, for us?
Sinbad: Yes. An uninhabited island on the southern seas.
The climate is gentle and crops and vegetables grow well. It’s in extremely good circumstances.
Village chief:
Will you make there a new village for us, the Torran tribe?
We won’t need to run or hide anymore…
Because we won’t have anything to be scared of anymore…
This is the best thing I could have asked for.
I’m counting on you.
 Page 11
Narration:
Sinbad settled the Toran tribe, who he met with in the past on the middle of his travels, on the Island with the “dungeon”
From the beginning they were promised a land to leave peacefully and they were entrusted to monitor the “dungeon” as well as to decode the “Toran language”
Ja’far: ….
This way, the dungeon “Zagan” will be safe, right?
Yeah
Sinbad: But, I’m not done yet.
If I can’t conquer “dungeons”, I have to raise our influence enough to compensate for it…
Tumblr media
 Page 12
   Sindrian worker: Your majesty!
We’ve succeeded in cultivating the unusual fruits of the southern seas!
Our foreign trading continues to be *in the black.   (TN: To be profitable)
Is as you said, your majesty. The peculiarities of the southern seas seem to be drawing attention.
We need even more. More people will come and this way,
They’ll see there is an ideal country in this place, and they’ll tell about it to all the people in the world …. !!
 Page 13
Sinbad: We should be able to do it!
 Narration:
That way, Sinbad worked hard in order to further develop the kingdom of Sindria.
And then, the years went by ….
Tumblr media
 Page 14
(TN: so much for working hard on developing the country lol a  flashy red-light district lololol)
  Ja’far: Wait a sec…!!
We had plans to build a national trading company but, why did it turned out to be a red-light district!?
SFX J’afar: *teeth clattering* / SFX Sin: HAHAHAA
Sinbad: I thought we might need an attraction for foreign customers.  Well, even though the “trading company” is a “trading company” ….
Tumblr media
  Page 15
 It’s a “brothel”.
Sinbad (26)
Ja’far: Don’t say that with such a serious look!!!
Sharrkan: Mr Ja’far, please don’t blame his majesty!
It became this flashy, I guess it’s my fault?... sort of.
But since the king directly entrusted to me this place, I guess he was quite enthusiastic to enter…
We did our bests, It was hella hard!
 Ja’far: …
Sharrkan …
Ja’far (22)
Tumblr media
  Page 16
Yes! Mr. Ja’far.
Sharrkan (18)
 (TN: OMG THE CHOP XD)
Sharrkan: You are so cruel!!  What are you doing?
Ja’far: It should be obvious!!
You are throwing off our budget with such an extravagant architecture!!
  Page 17
Ja’far: You too Sin!! What were you thinking leaving this kind of task to Sharrkan!
Sinbad: What! Am I wrong!?
Sharrkan: Wa-wait a second please! His majesty did nothing wrong…..
Yamraiha: …. Aah!, it is as I thought.
 Yamraiha ( 20)
…. That’s why I told you. Since you only made this huge building in such a flashy way, the situation would come to this.
Tumblr media
  Page 18
Sharrkan: wha…!! It’s because in my country, this is common…
Yamraiha: It think the crafters had a hard time because of that.
They said they couldn’t attach the gold leaf* due to the salty sea breeze, you shouldn’t forget that, since there was no other way, it had to be crimped with my magic.
It was because there was no real planning.
(TN: search “gold leaf” on google)
Sharrkan: What are you saying, you charmless woman.
Yamraiha: Oh, I might not be cute, but I’m fine this way. I’m way more serious than a man who flirts to anyone like an idiot.
Sharrkan: N-, N-Not really, Not to anyone.
Yamraiha: Hm, despite that, the first time I met you, you approached me and told me “I’ve met you before”
*Yamraiha manuscript: How dare you! *
 Sharrkan: Wha…
That was truth…
It’s evil that you don’t remember.
Yamraiha: I’ve told you that I don’t know what you talk about.
  Page 19
 Yamraiha: What!!
Sharrkan: What did you say!!
 Ja’far: Sharrkan…
He used to be so obedient, though.
Sinbad: People do change!!
Ja’far: I wonder who influenced him, hm?
 Hinahoho: Hey!
Hinahoho (32)
Drakon: We’ve kept you waiting, king Sinbad.
Drakon (26)
  Page 20
Sinbad : Hinahoho, Drakon!
Drakon: It’s been a while.
Hinahoho: Recently everyone has been busy working.
Hey, take a look at this. The brats are huge now.
 Pipirika (24)
Pipirika: Time flies, these guys will go through the adulthood ceremony in a few years.
 Kikiriku (11)
(TN: He looks at least 20 ahaha)
Sinbad:  You’ll fight the rampaging unicorn? It brings back memories.
Pipirika: These children are sis Rurumu’s children. They are nothing like my big brother.
Hinahoho: For sure!
..
Saher: King Sinbad
…..
Sinbad: Saher….
  Page 21
I heard, you two! You got married, huh?
Congratulations, I’m really happy for you!
 Saher: This is also,
All thanks to king Sinbad…
It’s because you’ve helped us out many times that we are standing here right now…
 Thank you.
For creating the kingdom of Sindria…
Tumblr media
  Page 22
Spartos: Excuse us, King Sinbad.
Kingdom of Sasan, Spartos (19)
Kingdom of Artemyra, Pisti (15)
 Page 23
Sinbad: Spartos, Pisti.
Pisti: Lord Sinbad! I missed you!!
Sinbad: How are you doing, you two?
Have you get used to Sindria already?
 Spartos: …Yes,
I was surprised by its difference with Sassan’s culture but, all people are very kind…
 Page 24
Pisti: That’s right. Spa-chan gets very nervous and he’s still scared stiff!
Spartos: S-Spa-chan!?
Sinbad: What, you’ve already become close friends?
Pisti: hehe… People in Artemyra are this way. Besides, I made a promise to my mother.
To find the dreamy gentlemen of the outside world!
Sharrkan: yeah!! I like that, let’s go for a drink sometime!
 Yamraiha: Wait a second…
Not everyone is a frivolous person like you…
Pisti: Let’s go let’s go!
All- right!! I’ll show you the best place I know!
Manuscript:  Pisti: As expected from Mr. Sharrkan! / Sharrkan:Please, come this way Miss Pisti!
 Yamraiha: …
 TN: *Radom people follows them*
 Yamraiha: …
What’s to be done? The culture is different…
Masrur: …
  Page 25
Sinbad: If so, then I’ll join too!!
Ja’far:  You can’t you, you know right!
Sinbad: but, why!!
Ja’far: The paperwork concerning this affair has piled up!! Who the heck did you think was going to handle this?
*Manuscript: Please, look at this!!*
Sinbad: You are cruel!! Ja’far, you demon!!
 TN: *Endless bickering*
Spartos: Is it okay not to stop this?
Pisti: That usually happens, it’s all good, isn’t it?
Sharkan: Manuscript: yes, yes.
TN: In that moment, Sindrian workers get Sinbad and the general’s attention
  Page 26&27
Sindrian people: This is awful! The creatures of the southern seas have come out!!
 Hinahoho: They came out again?
Sinbad: yeah, it’s something that happens all the time in this country…
Ja’far: well then, shall we go?
We, the “eight generals” of the kingdom of Sindria!!
TN: And then they fight against the rampaging unicorn!
  Page 28
Sharrkan: Haaa!
Household vessel, “Foraz saiqa”
 Page 29
Masrur:  Household vessel, “Bararaq kauza”
  Spartos: Amazing…!!
This is the power of king Sinbad’s subordinates, the “eight generals”!!
Truly amazing people that you couldn’t imagine from the usual.
Tumblr media
 Page 30
Big brother, somehow or another, please watch over me. One day, surely…
I’ll become a worthy knight, just I promised you…!!

3-2 Kimono Rumble: A World Without Wielders
Again, sorry for the spam.
If you want to blacklist these, you can use either the tag #kimono rumble for just this event, or #xdu event scripts for all these posts in general.
Reminder that these are copied straight from XD Unlimited itself, so any grammatical weirdness, mistranslations, and/or mischaracterizations are not my doing.
Tumblr media
Chris Yukine: "Here we are. Another day, another world."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Nothing seems too different."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Yeah. Are we really in a parallel world?"
Chris Yukine: "That's usually how it is. If you take a good look, you'll find plenty of differences."
Chris Yukine: (I didn't think they'd send three of us to investigate.)
Tumblr media
Genjuro Kazanari: "There was an alert from Gjallarhorn this morning. I'm sorry, but I'll need you to investigate it."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Sure! You can count on us!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Please let us go."
Genjuro Kazanari: "Shirabe-kun, Kirika-kun, I understand that you're enthusiastic, but--"
Maria: "You two..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "We both want to lend everyone a hand."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "We want to do whatever we can to help. As wielders... and as comrades."
Genjuro Kazanari: "I see. But neither of you have much experience in parallel worlds. You'll need another wielder with you."
Elfnein: "I agree. Investigating parallel worlds brings with it many unknowns, along with difficult battles."
Elfnein: "We have dealt with Karma Noise and other powerful Noise in the past, so being in a team of three is a must."
Maria: "Then I'll--"
Kirika Akatsuki: "You should come along with us, Chris-senpai!"
Chris Yukine: "S-Sure..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "We would really appreciate it."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Yeah, yeah! Come with us!"
Chris Yukine: "W-Well, if you really want me to..."
Maria: "Shirabe... Kirika?"
Genjuro Kazanari: "That settles it. You three will lead the investigation."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Roger."
Kirika Akatsuki: "All right!"
Chris Yukine: "Understood."
Tumblr media
Chris Yukine: "But why me? Poor Maria looked like she was about to cry..." [1]
Kirika Akatsuki: "We want her to rest a little. She's been on missions for so long now, and she hasn't had any time to rest."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "And besides, Maria is too kind to us."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Yeah. We can't help but let her spoil us. We have to get stronger so we can support her when the time comes."
Chris Yukine: "I see. So you chose me as your most dependable senior then."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Maria is good friends with Tsubasa-san, and Hibiki-san has Miku-san..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "I figured you that you were probably pretty lonely by yourself, Chris-senpai." [2]
Chris Yukine: "Well excuse me for living by myself!"
Chris Yukine: "Hey, is that the Noise?!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "We have to hurry!"
Tumblr media
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I knew it was them!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Where are the wielders in this world?!"
Chris Yukine: "I guess we'll have to deal with the Noise ourselves!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Yup!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Wait, there's someone over there!"
Chris Yukine: "He's being protected by the Self Defense Force."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Maybe he's some kind of VIP? Looks like he's wearing a white co--"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Hm?! Something doesn't feel right here."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "You, too? I'm getting goosebumps."
Chris Yukine: "I don't feel anything... Anyway, let's go help them!"
Soldier A: "They're defeating the Noise..."
Soldier B: "Who are those girls?"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Looks like this area's clear of Noise."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Not a problem for us seasoned wielders!"
Chris Yukine: "That level of Noise was never going to be an issue, anyhow."
Chris Yukine: "So, who are you guys?"
Soldier A: "W-We're soldiers from the Self Defense Force. We appreciate your help, but who are YOU?"
Chris Yukine: "We're..."
Chris Yukine: "Hey, what do you think we should call ourselves?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "W-W-Wait a minute! How would I know?!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Umm, we're part of S.O.N.G.-- No, I mean Special Disaster Response Team Section--"
Soldier B: "Special Disaster what now? I don't know any civilian organization that goes by that name."
Chris Yukine: "What?! H-Hey! What's going on here?!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "You mean there's no Section 2?!"
Soldier A: "I have no idea what you're talking about!"
Soldier B: "They seem fishy to me. Maybe we should restrain--"
Chris Yukine: "Hold on! There's nothing fishy about us!"
Soldier B: "That's what a fishy person would say. Now stand still while we restrain you."
???: "That is enough!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Whaaaa?! Brrrrrr!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "That voice... It's making all the hairs on my body stand up."
Dr. Ver: "We owe these girls our lives! They are true heroes!"
Dr. Ver: "You will follow my orders, and put down your weapons."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "The Doctor?!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "A-Anyone but him!"
Tumblr media
Dr. Ver: "You can relax. I must say, your battle prowess was something to behold."
Chris Yukine: "S-Sure..."
Dr. Ver: "Oh? What's wrong? Why are you moving so far away?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Get away!"
Dr. Ver: "Was there something I did to make you hate me? Why must you treat me so coldly?"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I'm sorry, but I...need a little more time to process this."
Dr. Ver: "Huh? Well no matter. Just take your time."
Dr. Ver: "Anyway, how about a little self-introduction. I am the world's leading researcher of relics, Dr. Ver!"
Dr. Ver: "Those things you girls were wielding earlier, they have to be the relics themselves, surely!"
Chris Yukine: "I mean, yeah, but..."
Dr. Ver: "So my eyes didn't deceive me! There is a technology which activates and wields relics. Fascinating!"
Dr. Ver: "But even more fascinating are those songs you sung in battle. Tell me all about their power! Don't be shy!"
Chris Yukine: "H-Hey, slow down there! Don't you come near me!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "So we don't exist in this world."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Not only that, there might not be Symphogears, either. Section 2 doesn't exist, after all."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "But that overeager pushiness... That's exactly like the Doctor we knew."
Dr. Ver: "Wonderful... Just wonderful! Show me more! Tell me more! Come on, don't be shy!"
Chris Yukine: "Oh, geez! Fine! Just calm down a little!"
Dr. Ver: "My god... I never would have thought that parallel worlds existed. Let alone Symphogears or the Sakurai Theory."
Dr. Ver: "It seems that your world is much more developed in relic research compared to mine."
Chris Yukine: "You don't have any wielders here?"
Dr. Ver: "None. At least, none that my esteemed self is aware of, anyhow."
Dr. Ver: "But to think that relics respond to song... How splendid! How incredibly romantic!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "What I want to know is how you guys deal with the Noise without the wielders of Section 2?"
Dr. Ver: "It's just like you saw earlier. The US Military and Japanese SDF work in tandem to deal with them."
Dr. Ver: "However strong the Noise may be, we aren't helpless. Although I can't say we're very effective either."
Dr. Ver: "Except ever since the incident the other day, we've been witnessing abnormalities."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Abnormalities?"
Chris Yukine: "Just what happened in that incident--"
Kirika Akatsuki: "What is that alarm?! A cup noodle timer?!"
Dr. Ver: "No, some Noise appeared. Didn't think they would return so quickly..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "The Noise!"
Chris Yukine: "Where are they located?!"
Dr. Ver: "Do you really want to go?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Of course!"
Dr. Ver: "My goodness... My eyes truly weren't mistaken. You girls are just the finest, bravest heroes I've ever--"
Chris Yukine: "Yeah yeah yeah, just tell us where the damn Noise are already!"
Dr. Ver: "I-I understand... Then let me guide you there."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "But why, Doctor?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "It's too dangerous."
Dr. Ver: "My overwhelming curiosity must be quenched! I simply must see you fight up close and personal!"
Tumblr media
Dr. Ver: "Wonderful... Just wonderful! Such exquisite displays of battle prowess!"
Chris Yukine: "That's kind how it goes with our Symphogears."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "They're designed specifically to defeat the Noise."
Kirika Akatsuki: "This amount of Noise is a walk in the park for us!"
Dr. Ver: "Hehe... Wonderful, just wonderful..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Ugh... I feel sick..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I know he looks the same, but he's a different person, Kiri-chan."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Yeah, I know that, but... Ugh."
Chris Yukine: "So, about that abnormality you mentioned earlier?"
Dr. Ver: "Recently among the Noise, there have been specimen that appear quite different from the rest."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "That black cat looked like it was a hurry." [3]
Chris Yukine: "Who cares about some cat? So what do these weird Noise look--?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Hm? More Noise?"
Dr. Ver: "No way, is that--?!"
Chris Yukine: "Heh! It's just some Noise! I'll finish this easy!"
Chris Yukine: "What?! My attack didn't work?!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "It cut her bullets in half!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I don't believe it..."
Chris Yukine: "Dammit! How about you try this on for size?!”
Chris Yukine: "You've gotta be kidding me! Even that got sliced in half?"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Diiiiiiiie!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I'm joining in!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Aah!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Aaaaah!"
Chris Yukine: "Hey! Don't trip over nothing!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "We just got a bit careless, that's all! Let's go, Shirabe!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Okay!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: (We tripped over nothing? Something isn't right here...)
Kirika Akatsuki: "Our attacks aren't even making a scratch!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "It's seeing right through all of our attacks."
Chris Yukine: "You cheeky little--! I'll get you!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Chris! You can't go alone!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "The both of you need to calm down!"
Chris Yukine: "Guh! Watch out!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Whoa! We're gonna crash!"
Chris Yukine: "I'm trying to dodge here! Get out of the way!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Now you're just talking crazy!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Look! It's going to attack!"
Chris Yukine: "Aaaah! What?! H-Hold on!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "How?! It cut through my attack like it was nothing!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Stand back!"
Chris Yukine: "Tch... Now we know this isn't some ordinary Noise. Time to go all in!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "You got it!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Roger!"
Chris Yukine: "What is this thing?!”
Kirika Akatsuki: "It's deflecting all our attacks..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "It's not just that. Unlike the regular Noise, it's watching our movements."
Chris Yukine: "You know, I feel like I've seen this thing's movement before."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I was just thinking the same."
Kirika Akatsuki: "I don't have any pals that move like that!"
Chris Yukine: "Guess we've gotta get this tricky bastard with one big attack!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "And it's not even a Karma Noise..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Time for a fully powered attack!"
Chris Yukine: "Don't stop now! Keep pushing!"
Chris Yukine: "All right!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "We managed to take it down..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "But I'm exhausted..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Hm? What is this?"
Chris Yukine: "What the? It doesn't look like a Noise fragment."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "But it came from where that Noise vanished. It must be related in some way."
Dr. Ver: "Thank you all for such a wonderful display. I feel I saw every aspect of your power!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "Great, now I feel sick again..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Pull yourself together, Kiri-chan."
Dr. Ver: "Oh? Looks like the SDF and US Military finally arrived. They certainly took their sweet time..."
Soldier: "Doctor! What happened to the Noise here?!"
Dr. Ver: "Those girls cleared them all out! And they didn't leave a single straggler, might I add!"
Soldier: "Huh? You mean those girls in the strange outfits?"
Dr. Ver: "How rude! Can't you tell how wondrous this is?! This is precisely why I hate the uncultured!"
Soldier: "S-Sorry, Doctor!"
Dr. Ver: "Whatever. Everything's fine here, so explain the situation to your unit, and return to base. We're done here."
Soldier: "I-I see..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "They're giving us funny looks."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "It's like they don't believe we defeated the Noise."
Chris Yukine: "Don't pay them any mind. They're free to choose whether to believe it or not."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Chris-senpai even didn't retort back at them."
Kirika Akatsuki: "We're going to see flying pigs at this rate!"
Chris Yukine: "Oh, I get it. So that's how you two see me."
Kirika Akatsuki: "N-Not at all. That was just a figure of speech, like a joke, that's all."
Dr. Ver: "Hehe. You three get along wonderfully well; precisely how a relationship between senpai and kohai should be."
Chris Yukine: "You've got it all mixed up. I'm the senior here! What makes you think I'm their kohai?!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "She's letting this whole senpai thing get to her head."
Kirika Akatsuki: "You can say that again."
Dr. Ver: "I mean, they didn't see you fighting, so it's natural for them to doubt your abilities."
Chris Yukine: "By the way, that Noise from earlier is the abnormality you mentioned, isn't it?" Is it all over now?"
Dr. Ver: "It's not quite that simple. There's more than one of those Noise."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "There are more?"
Dr. Ver: "Yes, there are."
Kirika Akatsuki: "We barely beat one of them with the three of us teaming up. How many more are there?"
Dr. Ver: "Well... There is likely a few dozen more at least."
Chris Yukine: "A few dozen?!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "No way..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "That can't be right! How's that possible?!"
Dr. Ver: "That Noise absorbs relic fragments. I calculated that number based on the number of fragments that exist."
Chris Yukine: "Fragments? Wait, like the one from earlier!"
Kirika Akatsuki: "You mean this?"
Dr. Ver: "My god... It's exactly as I thought."
Dr. Ver: "This is a fragment of Muramasa."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Muramasa?"
Tumblr media
Dr. Ver: "Sorry for making you come all the way here. I thought it would be better to explain on-site."
Chris Yukine: "On-site? What do you mean?"
Dr. Ver: "This shrine is where a Muramasa blade was housed."
Dr. Ver; "They are cursed blades, crafted by the blacksmith Muramasa Sengo."
Kirika Akatsuki: "C-Cursed blades?"
Dr. Ver: "Yes. They may not have as deep a history as other relics, but they are said to have cursed the Tokugawa family."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I've heard the name before, but I didn't know they were cursed..."
Dr. Ver: "They indeed embody a powerful curse, and the Muramasa enshrined here was the very first ever made."
Dr. Ver: "It is a bona fide cursed blade that has taken who knows how many lives."
Dr. Ver: "It brings misfortune to anyone or anything that comes near it."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Misfortune... Could it be that we felt sick in battle because of the blade?"
Dr. Ver: "It must be. In fact, those who have touched it directly have all been struck with some kind of misfortune."
Kirika Akatsuki: "That's one scary sword..."
Chris Yukine: "D-Don't be scared of it. It's just some curse..."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "So how does the Muramasa effect the Noise?" [4]
Dr. Ver: "I do not know. But right after a failed activation experiment, those special Noise started appearing."
Kirika Akatsuki: "You tried to activate a relic? What were you thinking?!"
Dr. Ver: "I was against it! But those barbaric government imbeciles got greedy and forced the Muramasa's activation!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "And then the activation failed, causing it to shatter?"
Dr. Ver: "Yes. Muramasa went berserk, and then shattered instantly as a result."
Dr. Ver: "The shattered fragments scattered over a vast area. If they had only let me handle the experiment!"
Dr. Ver: "Ahem. But I digress. The Noise that were affected by Muramasa--the ones with Muramasa fragments--"
Dr. Ver: "We call them Warrior Noise."
Dr. Ver: "We had no way to deal with them. We either fled, or waited for them to carbonize their victims--"
Dr. Ver: "--But now thanks to you all, we have a ray of hope! You are true--"
Kirika Akatsuki: "True what?"
Dr. Ver: "No, it's too early to say. Anyway, that is what happened in this world."
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "You know, there's something about that Noise's name..."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Like, I get it, but it's pretty cliché if you ask me."
Dr. Ver: "That was something the higher-ups decided on. At the end of the day, they make all the decisions."
Chris Yukine: "So these Warrior Noise were affected by Muramasa, making them stronger?"
Dr. Ver: "Yes. There are no other possible causes I can think of."
Chris Yukine: "You know, I think we've found the abnormality we're looking for."
Kirika Akatsuki: "No doubt about it!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "I agree."
Dr. Ver: "I hate to ask this knowing full well that you're visitors from a parallel world, but would you help us?"
Chris Yukine: "Sure. That's why we're here in the first place."
Kirika Akatsuki: "Yeah! Our mission is to resolve that abnormality!"
Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "It's ultimately our problem, too."
Dr. Ver: "Thank you so much! I knew I could count on you all! Hehe..."
Note:
[1] Chris doesn't use others' names outside of very rare cases and here she didn't used "aitsu" in Japanese rather than "Maria"
[2] There's an extra "you" in this line
[3] They left out a word, "in a hurry"
[4] They should have used "affect" rather than "effect"

I decided to make a character appreciation post for m21 (although it’s mainly me rambling and saying why I love him). I have done the same thing for my favorite characters in other fandoms (i.e. kkm and bsd). I felt it wasn't fair to not do the same for m21 (my favorite character in noblesse) so here we go.
Tumblr media
When I first saw m21 he was a “bad boy”.  At that time I didn't expect to love m21 as much as I do now, much less did I think he would become my favorite. First of all, because I thought he would be an antagonist who as in many others mahwas/mangas end up being defeated and then you never see them again. If he was going to disappear eventually, then what was the point in liking him, right? Yet, m21 character keep growing and keep getting a lot of panels, and I realized there was much more to this boy than the eyes meet.
The first time I felt he was going to become special was when he decided to contact rai and frankenstein in order to survive. M21 was just a modified human struggling to survive (and still is by the way). His bond with m24 was so strong and his reaction when m24 died made me feel things I wasn't expecting. Suddenly this 'bad boy' didn't look as bad in my eyes.
M21 is strong. He is very powerful (enough to confront yuri, Dr. Aris and mark and defeat them and later defeat urne, a werewolf warrior). He is able to use a technique not many werewolves warriors can. To quote lunark: “And that skill that human used a minute ago. He was lacking a bit in power but he used a technique only our warriors know...” (chapter 455). She said he was lacking in power and was surprised he managed to use that ability. What if he wasn’t lacking in power? How much damage would he have caused? Another interesting fact that I like about him is how his werewolf form is always evolving. It’s like it changes to show he is more powerful.

This is in chapter 406
Tumblr media
This is in chapter 456
He tries so hard to become stronger in order to protect his family, his comrades. He is not only strong physically but also mentally. He survived all those years thanks to his stubbornness, and even now he doesn't give up. When Irene was experimenting on him he always insulted/mocked her because he couldn't stand being treated as a disposable tool once again and thus, he rebelled. Of course, he paid the price since Irene tortured him, but he never cried. This brings me to my next point.
I really like his cool attitude and his sarcasm. He is stubborn yes but he always says what he thinks (unless it comes to his feelings) and isn't afraid of speaking up. Irene is an example, but so is regis. Let's not forget that both are nobles. Strong nobles. He also confronted frankenstein when he first arrived in the household (although now he knows better XD) and was able to make frank regain his senses after almost losing control to dark spear once. The only one besides him who did this, was rai, frank's master.
Tumblr media
Frankenstein says later it was thanks to rajak's blood he came back to his senses, but you can see it's only after m21 screams that he wake up. Then frankenstein says to the trio (while he was smiling): “and you... stop yelling, it's starting to piss me off” (chapter 192). Although the image shows the trio, I can't help but wonder if he said that to m21.
Also, this same guy decided to protect rai, the noblesse, and the strongest guy in this manhwa’s world (he still had enough energy at that time). Rai himself said this was the first time someone else besides frank said he would protect him. Can we talk about this? How come m21 was the only person (besides rai or frank) to say he would protect rai and to help frankenstein regain control of himself? I think this is very interesting and I really like his interactions with them. Of course, I love his interactions with other characters too, especially with the trio and when he is bickering with regis. Their interactions are most of the times hilarious (unless the situation is serious) and I really like that. Moreover, I like seeing m21 enjoying himself and having fun.
Furthermore, although he can be very sarcastic and cool/cold, he is can also be humble and nice. Like when he asked frankenstein if tao and takeo could live in the house and then frankenstein reminded him this was also his home. He gave tao and takeo a place they could call home and new comrades.
I like how complex his character is (for me). The previous example is there to illustrate how he can be nice, but at the same time this reflects a bigger problem. The fact that m21 felt the need to ask frank shows how m21 is struggling with his feelings. M21 lives in frankenstein’s household yet he used to feel like he didn’t belong there. It shows how traumatized he is for being used as an experiment for so many years. He never felt like he belonged anywhere. He never had a home. Even the other experiments treated him (and m24) badly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are many reasons that could explain why m21 didn’t consider himself part of the household. Maybe it is because as an experiment he is used to being thrown away and he was expecting rai and frank to do the same? Or because he doesn't feel worthy of being happy/having a place where he belongs? I have no idea. I personally think that m21 can't forgive himself for being alive, for being the only survivor. Maybe he thinks/used to think he doesn't deserve to be happy because of it. I love him because he keeps on trying to live with m24 even though he could have given up. Considering all they went through I think this is amazing. He is, in a way, mentally very strong. Nevertheless, he now has a home with people who love him and would go as far as to declare war to another race for his sake. He is in a very different place from before. M21 understand this now.
While I love how mentally strong he can be when it is necessary, I also love the him that is insecure. The him that tries his best in order to protect his loved ones. The him whose only dream is to find his and his comrades names. His dream is so simple, and yet the fact that he still doesn't know shows how sad/painful his life is. Also, he only wanted to be human, to be normal, but the researchers didn’t care. To quote m21: “I never wanted these powers... I wanted to be human!” (chapter 407). Please protect him! Why must he always suffer??
Also, he is a very mysterious character. This is mainly obvious at the beginning of the manhwa. When we didn't know what his real intentions were and he always hid his feelings behind his poker face (he still does it). One of the reason why I love m21 is ironically, the fact that we don't know much about him. Whose heart does he possess? What is the limit of his power? Will he ever be able to fully transform like maduke? Why is crombel hiding his past and why is he hiding the fact that m21 betrayed him? So many questions and still no answer.
Nevertheless, although he always has a poker face and he might seem cold, M21 is definitely not emotionless. He has seen too much, he has suffered too much, but he still cried when he thought m24 (mark) was alive. He also cried when rai came to his rescue in recent chapters. But m21 is still struggling with his feelings. One example is when he was surprised RK5 (or RK4 in this case) came to his rescue during the werewolf arc. Or when he asked them to leave (to protect them) after he decided to save lunark thinking they would actually do it. M21 knows he is loved but at the same time it's like he is still trying to convince himself this isn't a dream. And why wouldn't he? He lost his friends, his comrades to crombel and the scientists. He doesn't even know his real name. For all I know m21 might be older than he looks and has been suffering for many years being treated as an experiment with no one (besides m24) caring about his feelings. He doesn’t love himself and he is not yet used to being loved. Frankenstein’s household is helping him though and I think that’s beautiful.
Anyway I just love m21 and I wanted to talk about him XD

Some thoughts about ch.105
Recent commotion in fandom, especially among ereri shippers, made me to write some thoughts about event in chapter 105. Of course I am gonna focus on kicking scene, Levi's line he has missed kicking Eren and on Eren character and his comrades' attitude to him.
This whole story is sad and emotional rollercoaster in general. I have though that most of us is used to it. Of course, it isnt easy to face some grusome choices Isayama is making, but it must be something, that makes us love this story so much. Even few moments ago my sister asked me, so if this manga makes you so sad, why are you reading it? I mean yea, why? Maybe we are hungry for things that makes us think and feel emotions? Looking for happines should be, and propably is, the purpose of living, but do we ever imagine how our life would be without rocks on our road, what would be our state of mind and how we could face problems if they ever appear? I think that sadness and suffer enoble us as humans. I saw this theme few times and its really interesting, for example in "Brave new world" of Huxley or "Hearts, hands and voices" of Ian McDonald.*
*"They were bored; unbearably, incredibly, eternally bored.
Paradise was tiring. Heaven was a boredom, endless monotony of wealth, joy, splendor, freedom and pleasure, where every dream was coming true.
Paradise? Rather subtle kind of hell."
Maybe little controversial but something nice to think about.
This introduction is result of my struggling some time ago I made because of Attack on titan. I may be little obsessed and I really enjoy this manga and anime, but sometimes we can figure out that we are overwhelmed and a fiction takes control of our mood. I really love Eren Yeager (and it isnt crush or wet fantasy, it is feeling I could have for son or a friend). And when I first read chapter when he awakened his and other shifters memories and discovered that he will live only few years more I was at agony. I cried like someone from my family died. And I really couldnt come back to this story for some period of time. Then I saw his face when he was standing on the coast pointing on the horizon. And I was even more sad than before because I knew he is already dead and he lost a fight in his mind, he lost himself. I couldn't bear it, but now is little different. I have gone through my mourning. I hope that will be similiar with you who lost Sasha. We wont avoid deaths in this story, we only can prey they will have meanings.
And maybe finally to the point? ^^`
I dont really care that people hate Eren (it isnt something new). They have rights and freedom to do this. I can only wonder how is they reception of the story. For me personally, when I am a little less emotional attached, its a great line of plot and character development (not always in good meaning). I see that the boy I falled in love is changing, isnt the same person, is suffering, is losing himself, is selfishly fighting for purpose which is only known to him (but we really dont know what he is thinking and how his mind is procesing). It isnt easy to facing that but it really makes this character and whole story more interesting and awsome for me. And I love Eren no matter what.
I am also obsessed Riren/Ereri shipper. And here is something what makes me REALLY SAD. Reactions of another shippers... Usually I dont really mind but there are a lot of people who make me happy by content they are creating, metas, fanarts and fanfictions. Its sad for me when someone betray his idea when problem appears. But as I said before, everone has right and freedom to do this.
The kick scene and Levi's line that he missed that made me excited and confused by others reaction. I started to wonder whats wrong with me. Or them xD If someone is thinking its abusive, then maybe we read different books. By actions (and violence sometimes too, physical exhaustion?) we release tension. I think they both needed and expected that. Eren deserved that kick and Levi just showed him what is happening to him when he disobeyed (and that write person who doesnt like bdsm theme). What could be better? Levi looking on Eren with disgust, not saying a word and let him be arrested? Patting him on the head asking what happened, why he did this? (Maybe it could be nice but weeeird, it isnt Levi and it isnt romantic story).
Some people are complaining that Levi didnt develop at all. That he is abusive. The only moment I remember he beat Eren is on court and that kick in ch 105. If anyone know another times, please, point that out. I dont remember Levi beating his soldiers and comrades, he is only violent to ppl he is interogating and enemies ofc. And even behind the scenes, I dont imagine he can physicaly punish anyone, (they are still army and some standards should be respected, even in this canon universe, idk) he can punish a lot but more with training or cleaning tasks or whatever.
And that he missed it. All can see that this scene is pararel, kneeling Eren and kick is the same. When he said he missed it and Eren is always good to be kicked. Like.. rude? Omg a lot! But its Levi. Why anyone is loving him then? Like he didnt changed at all? Definitly he is the same, but I only missed Hanji there who could translate what he really meant. For me, and I can be absolutelly wrong, is that he missed old Eren. That kick remember him a boy who was innocent, ready to fight and had hope for winning they cause to save all the humanity. He hate seeing Eren in that new, different state of mind and by violence and pain he want to awaken him, retrieve him. That violence show how much Levi is tensed and lose control near Eren.
AND YES I SHIP THEM EVEN MORE.
They relation is interesting and anyone tells me otherwise.
There is one more thing that is making me sad along with shippers reactions. His friends and comrades reactions. We all love dramas. I love them a lot too. And i will wait for answers. Mikasa and Armins looks, sharp words from Jean and Hanji. Just why. What they think about Eren's condition. How much they know. I have lost it meantime, I have started rereading all serie but I still have long way to these events, so I am not really sure about this, so for now I will leave this topic.
And thats all for now. Little long post and thanks if anyone read it.

(fanfic) “how the guiding light wavers”
(A/N: I’ve had this in the works for a few weeks now. I first brought it up in this long post I wrote to establish character stuff, but this is the work that will finally make me feel a bit more secure in writing for my miqo’te girl. I’m aware it all sounds convoluted and bizarre to fixate on a name like this, but it was something that bothered me, and I’m the one actually doing the writing for my own character, so I do hope that this fic finally makes writing easier.
But alongside the name stuff, it’s also a larger look at where Fhara is emotionally throughout Shadowbringers I suppose. A little bit of where she’s come from and where she’s been so far and where she stands before entering Endwalker, so there’s at least a little bit more to this fic than just name shenanigans. XD
Name shenanigans and heroic title woes and legacy musings. All wrapped up in a complicated bow. Aha. I’ll probably do more Scion interaction focused additions on Fhara’s woes and worries later, especially since I had some in the original fic only to remove them as it was getting way too wordy, but this is the main meat of those feelings here and now.
Strong spoilers for the ending Stormblood patches and Shadowbringers, more so 5.0 and then just fleeting mentions of patch stuff. Set after 5.3.
Word count: 4760

When she set out from her home for Eorzea’s shores, she had a goal; to become a hero, and make her name known across the world. To be known as someone great and powerful, with monsters big and small bested at her hand, yet also someone kind and helpful, saving people and making their life a little bit easier. A lofty goal, but one she figured could be done, one small step at a time. After all, every adventurer started small.
Little did she know that her forays in Eorzea would grant her her desires, at a much faster rate than she anticipated; she joined the Scions, with their close ties to the city leaders and their own aims to protect the realm, and in gaining a reputation as a primal slayer, became known as a fabled Warrior of Light. A type of hero normally assigned to legend. It was everything she could have wanted and maybe even more than she could handle. It was a heavy title, but one she wore proudly, all while continuing as she had originally planned.
Yet as time passed, the weight grew heavier. There was still pride and joy in doing the right thing for the sake of others, protecting the innocent from those that would do them harm, but at some point, in the midst of the fighting, torn between Ascians and the Empire, despite doing the same thing she always did, her thoughts would wander to her original purpose in undertaking this grand adventure.
To become a figure of whom stories would be told, for those stories to return to her home and inspire the younger children, much like the old tales had inspired herself. To teach them to do good, to do better, to help others, to be brave, to be kind. An idealistic idea but one she held fast to. And by all accounts, fighting under the Warrior of Light title aided her even further in another aspect of her plans; to allow her to step back from the world once all is done and know peace when she hung up her bow and settled down.
When she set out from her home, she was ‘Fufu’; an old childhood nickname she’d long outgrown in her village, with the exception of her aunt, repurposed for her heroic exploits until the Warrior of Light title seemed to do the job better. Then in Eorzea, in the comfort of those she came to call a second family, she could be Fhara again. And it was nice, comforting even. To know that others knew her as more than just her heroic title, and that the Rising Stones could feel like a home so far away from home.
A home that was always filled with the sound of laughter or chatter, always someone socialising with a friend or partner, or busy working, the Rising Stones had all the energy and joy within its walls that she knew from her home, even with all the group had been through. To find that joy stripped out, the halls empty of people as her dearest friends collapsed into lifelessness and everyone else was left to fill in for their missing teammates…
For Fhara, it left her with no-one. But the Warrior of Light still had work to do.
The Warrior of Light had faced down conquerors, defeated dragons, set free thousands from the shackles of tyranny. But Fhara had never been alone in her feats, always with her companions at her side, or standing strong behind her, keeping the way clear for her, ready to back her up.
The Warrior of Light would go on to face Zenos that day in Ghimlyt Dark, the whispered tales from young inexperienced soldiers speaking how she almost pushed him back single handedly, with the famed Azure Dragoon jumping into the fray to assist her. In truth, Fhara stood alone on that battle field, facing a barely weakened, Ascian possessed corpse, the collapsed figures of her resistance comrades strewn behind her, she kept going until she herself blacked out under mysterious circumstances, only surviving by Estinien’s timely arrival.
Her recovery in Ishgard started her thinking, mixed in with the anxious waves of the mysterious caller’s words. The Warrior of Light would ever be revered for their acts, but as a single entity. Whereas Fhara, while capable on her own, worked best with a team, with her friends by her side. Working out a plan of attack together, or simply knowing they were there with her gave her strength. Yet standing on the field that day, the only thing giving her the strength to fight on was the desire to protect others, for if the Ascian controlling the fallen crown prince made it past her, Eorzea would no doubt suffer.
Then a stray thought...what gave her the strength to start doing all of this in the first place? What was her drive to begin with? It seemed so long ago…
‘Fufu’ had come all the many malms from a small village on the outskirts of Thavnair to become a hero, one that would have bard songs made about her for the sake of children’s tales. But the Warrior of Light had ultimately taken on that role. So what was the point of continuing to call herself ‘Fufu’ to the public? Was it just a habit by that point? A desire to hide herself behind an identity that both was and wasn’t her? After all, it was a nickname that had long been associated with her, and in the absence of any other ideas for an alias to call herself - oft teased as she was for her poor imagination for naming things - she had fallen to the easiest idea of her old childhood moniker.
Maybe it was time to move on from such childish notions? Her thoughts were neither bitter nor certain. The questions merely buzzed in her head as she left them unanswered.
She left the city with her golden hair cropped, a request asked of Jandelaine, met in passing before she left Ishgard behind her.
“It is a shame,” he’d said at the sight of her shorn twintail, the other loose from the hair tie, matted with blood and dirt, “But I can tidy it up and it’s like it never happened. A return to beauty and grace, just say the word.”
She could’ve kept it the same, and continued on as normal. But instead it was all gone. Because maybe a fresh start was what she needed?
~*~*~
The First was not a fresh start. At least not one Fhara was expecting. A land on the cusp of destruction, perpetually bathed in an unnatural eerie light, the people hunted by Sin Eaters, suffering either death or a torturous transformation in turn. She very quickly learned how terrifying, how desolate some corners of the land of Norvrandt could be, and she could well understand why, if people were living in such conditions.
Her first port of call in the strange new land was the oddly familiar gleaming tower, a recognisable pillar even against the hazy glowing sky. And within was the enigmatic Crystal Exarch, ready to greet her with open arms.
She had mixed feelings about the Exarch, on many points; having Called her friends and left their lifeless bodies back on the Source in an uncertain state, or even that Calling them was an accident in itself, since she herself was meant to be the target gave her no end of frustration toward the man. Even then with the knowledge that he hadn’t intended to summon the other Scions, the idea that he had wanted her to act alone in saving the First was one Fhara couldn’t help but balk at.
Of course she was willing to help, she couldn’t stand seeing people suffer while she knew she could do something. But to think she would be able to handle the work singlehandedly was pure folly. In that way, perhaps it was a small relief then that she had the Scions to help her, unintentional was their presence on the First. Even with the uncertainty surrounding their summoning and the state of their separated selves, she at least had her friends and teammates with her.
However it was his first impression beyond his summoning mishaps that stuck with Fhara and kept her uneasy around the man; no sooner had she arrived at the gate, he had welcomed her past his wary gate guard, quick to introduce her and settle her into the Crystarium. A warm welcome for sure, and not one she was ungrateful for, however the mix of familiar and unfamiliar in the man’s demeanor made her cautious.
That he knew her so well, so casually referred to her as ‘Fufu’ before she had even introduced herself, how comfortable he seemed while using it - hand waved away as him learning it from old records stored within the Tower, a name used in tandem with the Warrior of Light title, although it reignited her recent troubled thoughts on her public identity - while she knew nothing about him, that not even his own people could say much of him did nothing to ease her. Every factor together had her wanting to keep the Exarch at arms length. She would do as he asked - save the First, bring back the Light, prevent another Calamity from decimating the Source - and in return, he would return her friends’ home. That was all that was needed.
Of course, things would never be that simple.
In a land ravaged by Light for 100 years, a Warrior of Light was considered a heathen, a villain that had doomed them all. Instead, the people hoped and prayed for a Warrior of Darkness to be their hero. And so Fhara, with the starlit sky returning in the wake of her arrival, would become that hero.
Fhara didn’t want to say she hated it, however the dizzying speed with which the title and the stories spread was a shock to the system, moving even quicker than her reputation as the Warrior of Light had grown on the Source. She couldn’t blame the people for their enthusiasm, especially when the hero of legend’s arrival coincided with the return of the night after a century without.
She didn’t hate it. But she found herself seeking the comfort of her closest friends more often than she used to before. She knew they weren’t looking at a grand hero, but just Fhara, who stood up to answer the call. And they stood with her. As the days would pass on the First, rarely was she without a Scion by her side, only truly left alone in the comfort of her inn room, and even then, the wayward spirit of Ardbert was a presence she didn’t resent.
The days would pass, and the night returned across the land, and beyond the walls of the Crystarium, away from the crowds of people that would revere a hero, through pixie flower beds and dense forests ever shaded from the skies, and into desert ruins of a civilisation long lost-
“Welcome aboard, Ryne.”
Fhara had seen the young Oracle struggle under the weight of her legacy, the expectations of her duty to protect and act as a beacon of hope for the people of Norvrandt, while also living in Minfilia’s shadow by virtue of her name and powers. Fhara could empathise with the young girl, having long known the feeling of so many people relying on her and her own more recent doubts that she could live up to those hopes. She kept trying all the same, as she knew the Oracle would as well, for it wasn’t in Fhara’s nature to give up if she could do something.
But now, seeing the newly christened Ryne standing with a fresh air of confidence about her, her only nerves being about doing a good job for the sake of the team and helping relinquish Amh Araeng from the grip of the Light, Fhara was proud of the girl for her new lease on life.
Yet also a tiny bit jealous, that all it took was a name and a declaration to do better by herself for the girl to suddenly be brimming with courage, whereas Fhara fretted and frayed and languished under a gifted moniker, calling herself by her childhood name and then acting as though it were her only option, that she had no other choice...but was it always that simple? To just announce to the world you could be born anew yet still the same person?
Perhaps it wasn’t exactly the solution Fhara was looking for, but it was an idea towards a resolution for her woes. After all, she wasn’t trying to begin fresh like Ryne, Fhara just wanted to be Fhara, as she always had been. It was just trying to express that to the world at large.
It was only when the Light she had been capturing within herself finally overpowered her and left her weakened and stumbling, sitting at death’s door, did it finally seem to become clear to her. So rarely before had she gotten so close to death that she had never thought so closely about what she would leave behind, or who would remember her and how. The people of Norvrandt knew the Warrior of Darkness, Eorzea knew the Warrior of Light and the Scions knew Fhara. And if she died that day that would be the memory she would leave behind.
Yet she realised, lying in her inn room, she didn’t want to just be remembered as a hero under a title, or by a name that most of her nearest and dearest scarcely used. She wanted to be remembered as Fhara, at least if it were possible.
She’d certainly made the attempt to introduce herself as such during their travels across the realm, but with how quickly people came to know her as the Warrior of Darkness, she feared that her attempts were being drowned out. However before their ascent of Mt Gulg, as the crowds gathered from across the land to assist them, she found that they knew her as Fhara, and they would talk to her, and they wished all the Scions the best of luck. And among a small few, the Warrior of Darkness was not a title solely attributed to her, but to all of her friends.
It was nice. A reassuring gesture that her efforts were noticed. Even as she stumbled her way to the deepest depths of the seas in pursuit of Emet-Selch - keenly aware that if she failed, she would be dooming the First and her fellow Scions along with her - she held onto that knowledge. After all her worries, it was an odd source of courage for her, bolstered by her desire to survive, and the understanding that she wasn’t alone in her duty.
Altogether her feelings gathered, and in the face of death and her desperate wish to live, and her wish to be known for more than her heroic tales, she made her decision. She’d never been afraid to make the first step before, not even into the unknown. She’d come all the way to Eorzea on a whim and a want, and faced almighty foes more powerful than herself with nothing more than the determination to protect those that could not fight back.
If she lived through this fight, she would cast aside her anxieties, and take that first step again.
~*~*~
Fhara wasn’t the type to call meetings, she was the type to attend someone else’s meeting. And yet the majority Scions were gathered in the Rising Stones, with the miqo’te standing at the head of the pack, nervously shuffling her feet. What few Scions that weren’t accounted for were assured to be updated afterward.
She ran her fingers through her hair, no doubt to calm some nerves, although the action drew the attentions of the group members that had only seen her sparingly during her otherworldly adventures; since last they had seen her, she’d left for the Crystal Tower with a short crop, still wearing her tattered and torn bard coat, an uneasy smile on her face as though more to reassure those around her than because she genuinely felt like her hopeful self. Yet each time she returned to report to Tataru with updates, she was a brighter figure, with a spring in her step as she relayed the progress on the First, and her hair would grow out slowly to the feathered bob she now wore. It wasn’t quite the cute twintails they’d known her for when they joined, but she looked all the more confident nowadays with it.
She finally started, with a loud voice, albeit one that cracked as though there was still some anxiety holding her back, “I have something I want to say. Something I’ve been thinking about for a long while now and that I want to be clear on moving forward.”
Any mumbling between parties silenced immediately. Fhara’s tail flicked at the now heavy hush, however some encouraging gestures from the figures at the front most row - some few nods and a thumbs up here and there - allowed her to continue, “Thank you for being here. Truthfully, some people here already know what I’m gonna talk about. But I’d rather make it clear to everyone now. This whole thing might sound rather silly to some people, that I’m worrying over nothing. Some of you might even say that if it means so much to me, then it’s not such a trivial thing. And I appreciate that, I do.”
She hesitated, ears suddenly flattening. “To cut out a long story, when I came to Eorzea, and when I joined the Scions and became known as the Warrior of Light, I told everyone here they could call me Fhara. It’s who I am after all. But outside where people would know the Warrior of Light better, then they should call me ‘Fufu’. That’s still technically me, it's an old name I was called as a child. And it’s the name I chose for travelling because...I suppose the easiest way to put it is that I wanted to separate my private life, if I ever chose to return home, from my adventure life. But lately with everything that happened and with a lot of the dangers getting so much bigger than even the Warrior of Light I just started to worry about who I really was and what I was doing.”
“Like how? You seem the same to me?” Aenor spoke up, ignoring the disapproving nudge from her frowning sister.
“I mean, I hope I do,” Fhara smiled, although it was more wistful looking than pleasant, “I never tried to pretend to be someone I’m not, no matter where I was or who I was with, or what name people called me. But I started thinking I was getting lost with myself, like people were seeing two different people with me.” Her tail flicked again. “I should say now, I don’t hate being the Warrior of Light. A lot of people try to project that I’m frustrated with it or that I could be doing better with a title like that, but none of that is true. I don’t hate it. But it’s hard. People have big hopes and expectations for me when they treat me like that, and I’ll always try to reach them, but it’s not always easy to do alone. So truly, I’m forever grateful to have you all with me at my side.”
Casting a glance over the Archons and the twins, Fhara continued, her voice somehow smaller, “But when the Callings happened, and then everyone else here was stretched to take over the work, and this place was left empty so much, I...well, as senseless as it might sound, I felt alone. But I still had a job to do, but doing it alone was hard. Because everyone else knew this brave warrior that could handle anything, and I didn’t feel like that at all.” The quiet admission brought about guilty whispering rippling through the group, until a sharp cough from F’lhaminn hushed them again.
“T’was never our intent to make you feel as though you had no-one to lean on,” the older woman said, “Especially during such a time when our own were falling out of commission. But then it was precisely such a time that we all struggled to balance the work that needed to be done, and to fill the gaps left behind. If that struggle left you without support, then that would be our failing, and for that we would owe you our sincerest apologies.” The mumblings rose once more, letting out a small chorus of “sorry”s and “‘pologies”.
Fhara gave the woman a grateful nod then added, “I understand, I do. And I didn’t say that to call out anyone here, but I won’t deny that a lot of people across the realm talk about me in such grand ways because of the work and feats I’ve done, and it’s hard to feel like I’ve lived up to their stories. In that sense, being on the First kind of helped; it was a fresh start where I could try again to do the hero thing, but in a lot of ways, it wasn’t, because the same thing that happened here on the Source happened there. People needed a hero, someone to help them, and I just became the Warrior of Darkness to answer that need, and that’s what most people knew me as. But it still gave me a chance to try and start afresh with myself, and now I feel better about where I stand. And I want to bring that feeling and those certainties back here.”
She didn’t mention Azem. Though the suggestion that Fhara may be related in some way to that Ancient had brought her more hazy feelings, she had insisted that none of that mattered. The final insistence had brought her here now, to her certain decision. She was herself, and she didn’t have to worry about being anything more.
She let in a deep breath, steeling herself as she said, “The Warrior of Light is here to stay and she’s the one that will go down in history, and I can’t change that. Not everyone in the world will know the real me beyond the heroes tales, and I can accept that. But at least on some level, I can try to let them understand me. And that can start with a name. A name can be lost to time, so I get that people in the future will never know Fhara. But the people here and now can, and that’s all I want.”
With a final, certain nod,  she declared, “So from now on, I’m Fhara. Not just inside these walls, but outside them as well. It took a lot more words to say that than it probably should have, but I hope you all understand it now.” Uncertain of how to finish her speech, she took the skirt of her purple dress, already wrung tight by her nervous hands, and gave a bow. There wasn’t an immediate response. It took another glance at the twins next to her, giving her comforting looks to ease the tension in her shoulders, until another voice spoke out from behind the group.
“‘At was a lot of words to get the message out, but it looks here that it meant a lot to ye to make it sure as sure fer us lot,” the crowd parted, and Riol nodded, looking satisfied, “I think I’ll speak fer us all when I say message received loud and clear.” Fhara’s eyes started to water as she looked around to assurances and smiles, and possibly unnecessary cheers from what sounded like one of the Boulder brothers, but it was acceptance nonetheless.
“Thank you,” she sniffed, trying not to actually cry, rubbing at her face, “I mean it. This all probably sounds really ridiculous and I’m overthinking everything but-”
“There shall be none of that,” Y’shtola interrupted, “None of that self-doubt at least. We’re here for you no matter what decision you wish to make for yourself. You of all people deserve the support, and we are all the more glad to provide it.”
Fhara’s ‘Thank you’ caught in her throat, all she could do was nod. The larger group dispersed, individuals coming up to give her more reassurances and words of comfort as they passed before continuing on to their work. Urianger took G’raha aside for a word, both men departing to Dawn’s Respite, leaving the rest of the archons and the twins by Tataru’s desk with Fhara.
“So that’ll be a weight off your shoulders then?” Alisaie asked. Fhara nodded, letting out a heavy breath and slumping forward with the effort.
“I was more nervous for that than I thought, and it was just in front of the other Scions. But I’m glad. I feel like that is a step towards feeling more like myself, even if I never really strayed from that in the first place...I think.”
Thancred let out a thoughtful hum, looking over her suddenly tired frame. “I’ll say you never changed much, but I can see the ease it’s brought you now. Although if this is you after telling people that knew your little secret, how will you be with others, I wonder?” He ignored the peeved expression from Alisaie next to him as he brought it up, especially when Fhara’s face became a picture of concern.
“Oh, we’ll probably have to tell the Alliance leaders. Or do we? Is this an official thing I have to report on? Is there a process for this?” Fhara asked, eyebrows furrowing. Was there more work needed in this decision that she hadn’t thought of? Was there paperwork?
“Not to worry, I can get some official missives written up and shipped out in a jiffy,” Tataru stated, giving Fhara a bright smile and a thumbs up. Fhara returned it with a relieved look of her own, and the receptionist hopped onto her chair and set to work.
“Honestly, knowing diplomatic types, we could just use your name normally as though it's always been used, and rather than risk a faux pas, the Alliance leaders would just go along with it anyways,” Alisaie suggested with a wry smile.
Alphinaud shook his head at the suggestion. “While I don’t doubt that that is possible, sister, I would prefer if we erred on the safe side and actually updated the Alliance. We don’t have to make a large fuss over the matter for Fhara’s sake, but at least informing them of the change would be better for the Scions’ standing with them in terms of open communication.”
Alisaie rolled her eyes and mumbled, “Of course, brother.”
“At the very least, Lyse is already familiar with you personally,” Y’shtola said, addressing Fhara once more, “Even should the rest of the Alliance falter or take time to adjust, she would be able to take charge on the matter and make the adjustment easier for all. You needn’t worry about being left alone to handle this.”
“Yes, that’ll help,” Fhara smiled, however her eyes then dropped to the floor, a worrisome look on her face once more.
“Thinking now about how many people I’d need to update or inform, it feels daunting already. I’m questioning now why I thought the whole alias thing would be a good idea.”
“Really now, it’s beginning to sound like you’re thinking of telling the whole realm. You’re going to worry yourself like that,” Alisaie huffed. However she then added with a softer tone, “You said it yourself that you won’t be able to change everyone’s perception of you. Many will know the Warrior of Light, and some few will know Fufu. The odds of you coming across every familiar face you’ve ever known after this will be slim. But if it does happen, you don’t have to explain yourself in any great detail. All anyone needs to know now is that you’re just Fhara.”
The words, simple as they were, brought a warmth to her chest. And surrounded by her closest friends, those that had been with her for most of her journey and through thick and thin, the idea of continuing on into the unknown ahead of them didn’t seem as daunting anymore.
“Just Fhara...I like that.”
And that was all she needed.

I decided to make a character appreciation post for Rai. He is one of my favorite characters in this manhwa and I wanted to talk about him. Once again, this is me just rambling and saying why I love him.
Tumblr media
I love how at the beginning rai didn't know anything and he had to learn everything from zero. He learned how to open a door, how to play video games (although he is very bad XD) and he just wants to eat ramen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is when rai learned how to open a door. Look at how proud frankenstein is, and how proud rai is of his accomplishment. Also m21′s wtf face XD
Ironically, contrary to his cool appearance, rai is one of the characters that has the most comical scenes in the series. Although, it's mainly at the beginning of the manhwa (now tao took his place). Seeing rai learn new things always made me smile. I just knew since the beginning that he would become one of my favorites. The more I learn about him the more I love him.
Rai is a good person. He loves humans and he will go to great lengths to protect them. The best example to illustrate this is when he went out of his way to confront muzaka who wanted to kill humans after ashleen's death. I am sure this decision must not have been easy for him. Nevertheless, it was the only logical choice for him. In the past, humans did not have many ways to protect themselves against enemies like the nobles or the werewolves. Rai understood his powers were too great and thus instead of abusing his powers, he was very mature and decided to use his powers to protect the weak. Rai is nice but do not provoke him. He knows when someone went too far and he won't doubt to kill them/punish them if necessary. I really like that part of rai. Conclusion: do not mess with the kids or his children.

Chapter 133: I'd like to say poor shark but I can't
Rai is very intelligent and perceptive. For example, he knew frankenstein created the school in hopes one day he would be able to enjoy/have a normal life. Also, when he suspected m21 and m24 weren’t exactly humans, even though at that time he didn’t know modified humans existed. One should definitely not underestimate rai. He doesn't talk much so enemies tend to think he is the weakest of frankenstein’s household or he is mistaken for a normal high schooler (and thus a weak human). I always enjoy seeing people's reaction when they realize that's not the case.
I like how strong rai is. My only problem is that the more he uses his powers the less life force he has. Nevertheless, he does have great abilities that do not endanger his life, like mind reading and mind control.
I also really like how rai has a lot of faith in his comrades. He knows frankenstein is kind of crazy, and he worries about his well-being, but he also trusts frankenstein will be able to survive and more importantly he trust his judgments (like when frank decided to give dark spear power to tao and takeo). Another example of rai trusting frankenstein is when in chapter 438 he says: “I left the rest to you because I trusted you. But you are in a dangerous state right now. So I'm going to ask you. Can I leave the rest to you and go to m-21?”. Although rai was definitely worried about frank he still had faith frank would be able to do something about it and avoid being controlled by dark spear. He believed frank would be able to fight dark spear, a very dark and strong power that was about to consume him, and regain control of himself. Frankenstein couldn't even move his body. If this doesn't show much faith he has in him, then I don't know what does.
He was also willing to awaken m24 (mark) when m21 asked him for it, even though frankenstein had warned him m24 might be someone else. He couldn't stand seeing m21 so sad and wanted to help him even if it meant risking his life for a copy of m24, and most likely an enemy (all just to make m21 happy). He is a great character.
Rai might not talk much as I already said and he always has a poker face (except in the last chapters where rai started showing more emotions) but he does worry about his friends/family and he is definitely not emotionless.
Tumblr media
Chapter 133: I love his serious face each time he sees one of the kids hurt. There are many other examples.
The most obvious (for me) and most recent example is when he went as far as to invade the werewolves land to save m21. His face there was perfect, you could see how relieved he was after seeing m21 was alive and okay.

Chapter 458

Chapter 251
I decided to add this scene because rai said: “please understand my selfish desires”. He is one of the most selfless character I know, and he just wants to protect his loved ones and he called that selfish desires! There is nothing selfish there. Rai is so good. So nice. Protect him.
Of course, he also worries a lot about shinwoo and the other kids at school. I think rai allows them to do whatever they want (i.e. come to frankenstein house uninvited and make a mess. Though the one who suffer the most is frankenstein XD) because when he is with them he can be 'normal'. This is so important to rai. They are one of the reasons why rai is enjoying life. To quote rai: “without even realizing it I guess... I wanted to stay here just a bit longer” (chapter 448). He says this while thinking of the kids and the trio. He always knew that one day he would lose his remaining life force but he had accepted that was his fate. Until recently he didn't have a reason to keep on living. This shows just how lonely rai was. Rai doesn’t have big dreams. He just wants to protect the normal lives of his comrades. To quote frankenstein (when he was talking to the children): “He is worried...that he will be unable to protect the lives you have built here” (chapter 236). He is always willing to help others, and he wants to help others achieve their dream. Like when him and frankenstein were willing to negotiate with crombel to obtain information about m21 and his comrades. Even though that could put them in danger as crombel would have asked for something in return. Other people’s problems always comes before his own. This just reinforce how selfless he is. He is happy when his loved ones are happy. Although this is very noble of him, it’s also painful/sad, but I guess that's part of the reason why I like him? I mean, rai is rai because he is surrounded by angst and I already accepted that. Still, I don't want him to die or to see him suffer.
Rai is a mentally very strong character and I can’t help but respect him. He has been the noblesse for who knows how long and for the longest time, before frankenstein joined him, he was alone. His only comfort used to be looking outside the window he had at his mansion. People did visit him from time to time, and he did have 'comrades' but they all knew of his status which kind of limited their interactions as they didn't dare to speak their minds and/or offend him. The traitor nobles are the perfect example for this. Some of them cared about rai, they loved him, but due to different reasons/having different ideals (they wanted the nobles to have more power, roctis wanted to protect his daughter, etc.) they ended up betraying him. Muzaka was his only friend. The only one who wasn't afraid to say what he thought. Also, while it's true that muzaka is responsible for rai's disappearance, he never betrayed rai like the nobles did. I think that's also the reason why rai is willing to go so far (thus endangering his life) to stop muzaka. He did try to stop him from killing garda since he knew muzaka would regret it later.
This brings me to another point. Rai is willing to risk his life if it means he can protect his loved ones. Please protect him! I admire rai for it yet at the same time I worry because of it. His powers are very dangerous. Since this is a character appreciation post I'm not going to develop this further XD
Another thing I love about rai is how much he treasures his family and his home. He looks so happy while talking about it. I love seeing rai happy. When raskreia ask him after their battle (while they are eating ramen XD) if rai will stay in lukedonia and rai says he will go home, she asks: “I don't understand, does that place means that much to you...?” and rai says this while smiling:
Tumblr media
Chapter 200
His smile is so beautiful here. Also in chapter 444 rai says: “of course, we may not be blood relatives. But... as for the meaning of family, I think I understand what it means”. Rai finally has a place where he belongs, where he feels comfortable and I love it. This boy deserves to be happy, he deserves to have a normal life and to be with people he loves and who love him back. I love him so much.
Anyway, these are the reasons why I like him. There are probably others but I can't think of them right now XD
