What are your ryomina headcanons? I've loved these two since I played P3 FES, and I'm so excited to get back into the fandom^^

as for headcanons, here's a "few" i that i tend to come back to a lot! my interpretations of them are influenced from both the source material and other's fanworks, so i've linked to them as i saw fit! hcs in no particular order under the cut because oops this got long (900 word bullet point list, mentions of reload content up to 1/1)

minato's hair is dyed blue (hair originally brown, you can see it in his roots!) and he has a beauty mark on under his left eye. i like mirror imagery and there's definitely a few arts i've rb'd that portray them this way :) (e.g. this one by feliichu and this one by marasschino)

as far as i'm concerned the bathhouse scene from the manga where ryoji's hair down = similar shape to minato? that is canon to me. this art from xierru is a fun depiction of hair down ryoji :D

ryoji is homeless. everyone say thank you foxmulder_whereartthou for this awesome fic it's why i have the headcanon! but like seriously. we have no idea where ryoji lives and i could believe this.

minato dying at the end of the game is sad to an outsider's POV BUT!!! ryomina gets to be together in death for the rest of their lives (this illustration from mafuwara is a gorgeous representation of them as nyx avatar + the seal)!

speaking of the seal, they are like telepathically communicating to me in the great seal together. (mymp3 had a comic wip with this. give it a looksie :D)

ryoji likes cuddling with minato because he's warm :) (something something orpheus has fire affinity, minato is warm by extension and ryoji is cold because he's death)

ryoji's camera roll is filled with pictures of minato! ryoji... loves life, to me. and i feel that photography and journaling are perfect ways of expressing gratitude and capturing the moments in life that are most important to you :3

my other favorite activity for these two is stargazing- i feel like it's something they could appreciate either in life or death (looking at the stars from the great seal...)! they do a bit of this in the fic eurydice's vow by crescentmoontea (P5R spoilers, takes place in third sem it's a very fun fic concept).

between ryoji and minato i feel like ryoji was the one who fell in love first- and it doesn't really click in place for minato that he loves ryoji until december hits (appriser reveal + ryoji transforming into thanatos). its about the realization that ryoji was with him for his whole life and that he gets him like no one else does.

ryoji is like a sad and wet puppy who is so scared minato won't like him back. he is so scared of being rejected by minato to me like. this boy straight up deflates after he does his "i know i said i wanted us to be friends, but... i actually want to be something more." / "what about you?" on 12/1 ???

AND SPEAKING of wet puppy ryoji. ryoji is like. every animal in the world to me. he's a bird. he's a cat. etc. and also ryoji knows every language in the world ever and uses it to express his love for minato. see this fic from superheroics to see what i mean.

both of them are lactose intolerant. "this isn't lactose, it's milk!" i definitely think ryoji would make himself sick eating ice cream and milk he doesn't know what lactose is. (i made a silly poll about this once and the tags were very entertaining.)

i see minato as transmasc or nonbinary depending on the day (schrodinger's headcanons babey they're simultaneously true and not true at the same time!!). either way he's not cis to me and ryoji is like. His Gender. anyway go read this fic by nail_gun for t4t ryomina :D !

ryomina are WEIRD GUYS TO ME!!! they are so strange and they understand each other better than anyone else because of the circumstances of their relationship!!! if you asked them to do the "i wonder what i taste like" meme i think they'd start biting each other (affectionate) tbh but that's just me.

after ryoji gives minato the music box in 12/31 on reload, minato listens to the music box every night in january. this boy has insomnia and also chronic illness to me (things that housing death does to you). but i think he finds comfort in the melody and memories he made with ryoji.

in general, i think it's fun to imagine minato taking ryoji to places and show him things he's interested in! i feel that ryoji takes a lot of interest in minato's life, this isn't really a hc because in reload, minato DOES give ryoji a tour of the school (11/9) and possibly port island (11/12). but ITS CUTE OK! (tangentially related fanwork: this series of doodles from vinnigami: 1, 2, and 3)

not a hc but minato's kindness is like the backbone of their relationship and i think we would not have the ryomina we know and love today if minato wasn't such a kind soul. oh minato.... we can learn so much from you... like ryoji did!

Draxum is fucking horrified. Mikey isn't really a doctor (he learns healing techniques specifically so that he can convince Leo and Donnie to leave home and help support them,) so he doesnt really get how bad it is? But he can tell it's bad!!! And he can tell his dad thinks it's really bad so it must be pretty bad!!!

How the FUCK do you draw DRAGON FACES AND EYES

I can get the body and head down ya know? but its the damn FACE that fucks me up when drawing faces

So if its not to much of a burden, could you please give some tips on how to draw dragon faces?

oh boy i am the Wrong person to ask lmfao - when drawing dragon faces 90% of the time im confused and fucking it up 20 times before getting it right and the other 10% is just "wait how the fuck did i do that? nice! anyway"

i've been drawing dragons for so long that the drawing process is almost entirely subconscious! and i'm not entirely sure what you mean by Faces instead of heads! but i can still attempt to offer Some advice - specific references, that kinda thing

uh i think one thing that's good to keep in mind is that dragons (typically - dragons are a Wide range of shapes and sizes so this is technically subjective) have Binocular Vision. forward facing eyes! just like us, predator animals, birds of prey. personally i like to mainly study dinosaur skulls when working on how i draw dragons, especially raptors and tyrannosaurs. i think dinosaurs are a Really good reference since they're pretty much the closest thing we have to real life dragons. so the eyes are generally higher than the snout or level with the top of it. tldr: understanding that they have forward facing eyes helps shape and Place the eyes correctly.

i'm not sure if i can help with the Shape of eyes? i tend to draw eyes mostly the same no matter what i scribble. but Another thing i'd recommend using as a reference - specifically for the snout and how it bunches / how the muscles move - is look at pictures of wolves snarling / facially expressing. they are a Great base point.

with the eyebrows/eyeridges uh. i suppose they tend to be rectangular! or Oblong! just flexible little logs placed over the eyes. they tend to be level with where the top of the head is. again i will recommend looking up photos of Tyrannosaurus Rex Facing Forward, they have some great ridges

but yeah just! look around! play around with facial structure and what feels/looks right To You! look up those expression sheets/memes and use 'em for practice, they're great for that! and as i will always say - Dragons Dont Look Just One Way! Fuck Around And Find Out What's Dragon To You!

oh, and also look at anthro art. there's a lot of really good anthro art that can help show you how to place/move facial features on an animal with forward-facing eyes and much room for expression <3

lmao what is my name getting passed around in the comshipper community? listen, my stance on it is that you can write about whatever you want however you want and nobody can stop or censor you because it’s free speech, even if it’s blatantly abhorrent (and not just to me, but to like thousands of other people.) That’s just the law. But just because you can doesn’t mean you should. You’re really gonna sit here and tell me drawing or writing nsfw of child characters getting incest raped for sexual gain is normal and fine because it’s “not real..”? ... okay. I personally don’t like it, but you can do that, but if you paint it as a ship or call it cute, I have the right to assume weird things about you. That’s just how it is and I’m not gonna change my mind on that. So with that being said, ig I’m “proship” in the sense that you CAN ship something cuz nothing is stopping you, but I REALLLLLY don’t think you should because you shouldn’t romanticize something like a child/adult relationship (and to those in the sp fandom or my followers, I’m talking to you randy/stan and kenny/his siblings shippers.) I know that there are many reasons people write about dark or gross topics, including trauma coping . It can be good to help shine light on a serious experience or topic, such as sexual content involving minors, rape, abuse or incest, which should not be left in the dark. It’s how you handle it that really matters, which can vary, as there is no one way to do it. The bottom line is that none of that stuff is “cute” or “romantic.” For example, let’s say you like the movie “Thirteen”. I believe that movie tackles serious topics in an honest manner that gets its point across without featuring child porn. Not to mention that the movie was actually co-written by a 14 year old girl sharing some of her experiences, which shows the purpose of the movie. However, if you are an adult and like the movie because you like the scene of Tracy and Evie kissing, two 13 year old girls in a heavily toxic friendship, and you find it “cute,” I’m going to assume weird things about you. Or let’s say you like the book “Lolita” for its insight into the mind of a predator. Now compare that to liking the book because you too find Dolores attractive, and you relate to the pedophile. I know these probably arent the best examples, but hopefully this clears some things up a bit. A lot of the time it’s not the media’s fault, it’s how people view it, so I don’t believe in censorship. Like banning “The Catcher in The Rye” because one guy read it and killed John Lennon is stupid. But at the same time, look more closely at the media you are consuming. Think of the movie “Cuties”. Sure, the director claims in was not made to exploit children, but definitely exploits children by using suggestive angles of their child actors twerking. And guess what? Pedos loved it, even if that wasn’t the intention. What I’m trying to say is be unapologetic, but don’t cater to those who gain a certain gratification from it either. For the love of god, normalize a topic, but don’t NORMALIZE IT in the way it’s viewed as okay.

(and before you call me a hypocrite for liking South Park, I am fully aware of the gross people in the fandom. i am fully aware that the child characters in the show are put in suggestive situations. But it’s so absurd that you can’t take it so seriously, and those who do have a problem. It’s done for comedy and satire. Just because it is normalized in the show does not normalize it in the real world. Don’t copy cartoons silly. But making shota/lolicon is trying to normalize other forms of child porn by using the work around of “it’s not real”. See the difference?)
