With that, the MDZS manhua officially concludes. 😭😭😭 In other words, the last iteration we have of WangXian concludes. 😭😭😭 I wish I could believe that we'll be seeing the extra chapters illustrated starting next week, but tbh I'm not holding my breath on that...as things are going now, I think I should be relieved we got the happily ever after ending as it was in the novel.

Not that I'm not more than little sad about it: the manhua was my last hope that we would finally get to see the extras visually brought to life, so I'm actually a bit heartbroken that it probably won't happen. People usually focus on the sex in the extras but they're actually so much more than that: I'm so sad that we won't be seeing in manhua form Wei Ying back in Gusu Lan as Lan Zhan's husband, enjoying a family banquet with Uncle Lan, or the husbands working together with their son Sizhui on a case, or the husbands on their Yunmeng date. 😭 We're losing out on so so much 😭😭😭 Of course in a perfect world I would be able to come back next week and cross out everything I just said...so I can only continue to hope until then. 🙏🙏🙏

Hello,

Here is the life update of my past 4 years.

I began this blog many years ago in 2012 when I was only 14 years old, and I then slowly gained the courage to start posting art at 17 when I joined the K fandom. It's wild to think that I am now 25!

I was never quite consistent in posting since I only shared my art here whenever I felt like it, but it slowed down ever so gradually to basically 1 post a year for Yata’s birthday. This blog helped me with my fear of showing my art to others as I was incredibly embarrassed of my work for a really long time.

I soon moved to the USA from my homeland and attended animation school for 1 year, and then studied illustration and visual development for 4 years and I managed to accomplish many things I never could have imagined. I graduated with honors this past May, was selected by the faculty and head of department as my major’s trustee scholar, completed my 84-page art book thesis, got a few pieces into the Society of Illustrators, and my school even shot a mini docu-film about me, my art and my life where I got to share my upbringing. Art school was very demanding and at times tough but I managed to get a lot out of it :)

In July of this year, I moved to California from Florida and I’m much happier than I’ve ever been. I come from a very small country so I never expected to get this far in the art world. I drew Yata for fun in my bedroom whenever I wanted to and now I’m in LA breaking into the animation industry (receiving my first credit too!)

the drawings I share here are a very very small part of the illustrations I make weekly. I wish I could share them with everyone as I’m very proud of them but I enjoy separating my fandom life from my real life a little too much! Surprisingly I am working as a background artist at the moment despite never drawing backgrounds in this blog lol. I think many of you would be surprised at how different my work is from irl!!

It hasn’t always been great, so I don't want to make it seem like it's been all perfect. I’ve had many hard times too and at the moment I am extremely homesick since I haven't returned home in a long time but I think these are needed sacrifices.

However, I'm excited for 2024. I'm looking forward to growing as an artist and my goal is to continue to have fun with art as much as I have right now. I think I’m lucky to have a great support system including my best friend @fuurais who has been by my side for 10+ years and I managed to convert into a K artist too <3

Thank you for the support, for the kind messages, and for the excitement every time I post. I am always happy when I think of this blog and the friends I made. I unironically think about Yata every day as he is past being my comfort character tbh. I am currently writing this with full-on orange hair that I've had for a few years now lol.

I don’t think I’ll be as active as I was at 17 but I will try to not ghost this blog completely. There are a lot of things I haven’t drawn yet that I really want to do and I'd love to share those drawings with everyone.

Tbh I wish I could be paid to exist so I can create without pressure or the looming threat of economic instability. Have you any idea what kind of banger stories I could write up and illustrate if I had nothing else on my plate and no pressure to participate in the economy?

It's sad that I need relief from the economy to successfully create a work that could unlock that kind of passive income through royalties or sales.

I was thinking the same about ays being sort of a two birds one stone situation… also have a feeling that’s part of why jk was a little cranky especially at first. From my perception at least, he gives less fucks about how they’re perceived. I think he would have preferred for Jimin to just tag along and not be filming tbh lol he just wanted that quality time badly. The “I’m obviously grateful you’re here” added to that. Felt sort of like a “I’m obviously grateful you’re here, but still meh about the filming”. I don’t think he’s against it or anything obviously, he also wanted to create content for army and if he wasn’t on board with the idea of making a show he wouldn’t be doing it. But I think he low key wished it could just be the two of them not caring how it could look. He can be sort of reckless like that sometimes though so probably for the best he has Jimin to think a few steps further😅

2023 jungkook gave 0 fucks about anything truly! it was a wild time. i think he was happy with the idea of their travel being filmed though because he does enjoy filming shows like this i think, or at least filming his travels. if they had more time he probably would've hoped to make it even more "theirs" i think (with the editing or directing or the illustrations). but i do think it's strange from a planning perspective that they didn't even have jeju or japan planned when they were in the US. and they talked about continuining with the show like it's gonna be an indefinite thing they will do whenever they feel like it. maybe if not on disney+ they will keep doing a show like on youtube or something? haha but anyway what i mean is this show gives them a nice excuse to travel together and have no one question it. especially if you look at the first accommodation they stayed at...if they need any more cool (ahem romantic) airbnb recs i have a list ready lol

Hi, I'll preface this by saying that I'm a fan of your writing and this is not a rant at you specifically. It's something that I'm growing more and more frustrated with when navigating content/creations in the fandom (and other fandoms on here too tbh). Your posts just happened to be the ones I came across today and they provide a convenient case study into the matter.

I think we all know that the inbuilt tumblr feature to embed existing gifs in posts is very broken (where it automatically credits, and links you back to the full set when you click the text/username under it), and it can be very frustrating to find the exact one you want.

But reposting them yourselves without credit is seen as very bad etiquette amongst creators, and a lot of creators will block people for this reason (to avoid said person collecting and reposting their future content), and warn their fellow creator mutuals to do so too.

Also, it makes the user experience quite annoying for some users. i.e. You see a post with a really cool gif; you swore you've seen that exact one before, you may even recognise the very specific style/coloring, OR you've not seen that scene giffed before but you've wanted to, you now really want to like/reblog the full set if you could find it. Either way; you wish you could see the whole thing from the original post. But there's no link or even an indication as to the original creator/blog it came from, so... yeah this sucks.

From your other posts you seem like a reasonable and well intentioned person, so I don't think you're setting out to be deceptive in any way (some will actually fully repost a mish mash of different sets, and caption and tag it as if it's their own creation), you just want to scream about your faves, as you should. And I'm sorry this got so so long but I think I need to make it really clear, because I assume that some of these reasons/povs/repercussions must be unknown for it to keep happening. I could go into how it affects creators in fandoms in more detail but I'm sure you can imagine and I don't want to extend the lecture (just imagine someone copying and pasting excerpts from your fan fiction, and posting it, without any citation of said fan fiction or even mention of the author).

TLDR - Please link back to the original post if you're sharing stand alone gifs, made by someone else, in your own posts. Or better yet, reblog the original post that you're downloading the images from, with your added commentary (we would actually LOVE to see it, but I do also get if you just want to pluck out one specific moment from the set).

I'm still very new to Tumblr and learning the ropes. I didn't really intend to post S3 gifs at all - I was keeping Kanthony photos/gifs I liked on my phone to share with friends, and eventually I realized how many I had saved, so I decided to start making posts with them, and I was simply uploading them from my phone at that point.

You see so many gifs floating around here - I didn't think closely about the time and effort that people are going through to create these gifs, and I will do better in giving them the recognition and attention they deserve. (If one of the gifs I've used is yours, please let me know and I will tag you.)

as much as i like cutesy sweetie lil guy petey who has been given god's hardest battle i wish we could like do something more than that as fandom. like petey can be more than just a sad little guy who gets bullied alot. how about we make him look decrepid, make him look like a little freak cat whos been dumped into a bat of freezing cold water, make petey scary. people dont stray away from making jimmy and gary look weird and unnerving but what about petey? why is he confined to this position of always just being the cute one. like make him a lil thing creature who looks like hes going through it i need more lil thing petey please pleaseeepleasee.

the first one is fine tbh, its representative of peteys appearance on the surface, a lil guy whos sad alot of the time aw mannnnnnn :'( hes so sad and pathetic!!

the second one is interesting imo. he looks like an animal that just crawled out of its hibernation burrow /affectionate. like it really showcases the internal disposition of petey that he could be feeling to put it simply. i think he should be tired, and miserable looking

i would love to see somebodys depiction of petey and its like petey but he looks like hes been stomped on 15 times ran over by a train, and double tapped. cuz to put it plainly bullworth is literally the worst school ever and petey is most likely one of the main targets of bullying for literally anyone. give him eyebags to indicate he cries alot, give him a slouch, make him look tired, let him fidget with his hands, bite his fingernails, pick at his skin. this kid is the worlds most specialist little guy that routinely gets nothing in return from it i love him.

another thing is that petey is just like this desperate little freak. like he has no friends and doesnt really hang out wit no one cuz he doesnt feel like he fits in with anyone else. hes pretty socially awkward and only hangs out wit jimmy and gary cuz he wants to feel included by others and have a semblance of friendship even if they mistreat him. i feel like the second one really illustrates that, not to say that being socially awkward and having no friends means youd look like that but you get the jist.

so in conclusion i think more people should draw petey like this

Bellow is a video of my latest thg art! I think I never shared video on here, so I thought I'd give it a go!

I wish this was a reblog of the original post but tumblr didn't let me. So here we are! I felt like talking a bit more about this piece because it was so good to make it. I am actually proud of how it turned out! The impression of depth works well enough and the lighting too, which made me very happy - happy to be able to give Katniss and Rue this sweet moment in such a dark story. I can't recall if this exact scene happens in the book, but it must be similar enough.

Still figuring out My Katniss. That's not exactly how I want to draw her. But a victory here is that she looks like an actual teen - something I struggle with tbh hehe. Little Rue is not exactly how I see her as well, but I love to see her sleeping peacefully like this with someone taking care of her.

This just......sprung up in my brain as listened to thg yet again because i have brainrot and need to be constantly entertained to be able to work lately. And it broke my heart and mended it continuously. Rue is so little and innocent, and even if she wasn't reaped, she already had a miserable and exploited life in district 11. That's so unfair. And the way Katniss stood by her, gave her the most she could, told her she was strong, lifted her up in the short period the two had together - makes me love them so much. Makes me love Katniss very much! This girl dared to > LOVE <. I guess that's the heart of this illustration, the daring to love in the direst circumstances.

As for the makings ofs its. T'was made on procreate with a funny little brush named quoll. Very ill tempered. But very beautiful watercolor look. I did have to do it in layers of color to get it right, which is also very watercolor-like. The thing to make it look like people are LAYING DOWN is to draw their faces as seen slightly from below. Does the trick every time. Now for the ground, I think it's the blue that gives the depth, and the lack of detail. The unfocused leaves gave me a bit of a hard time, hard to figure out their color and lighting. Even drew focused leaves. I very much lack the processing power do draw leaves and flowers and complex things. But we manage! Just keep arting and you'll manage.
