"In the studio, however, I depended on Minami Takayama, who plays Conan, for just about everything. She caught me up on anything I didn't understand or had missed in the story so far; thanks to her lectures, the recordings went smoothly. In the beginning, Ran Mouri and Kogorou Mouri didn't appear with Ai, so I spent my time as Ai with Conan and the Detective Boys for a while.
Then one day, I came into the studio to find that my usual seat was occupied by Wakana Yamazaki, who plays Ran. And she was talking to Minami like they were the best of friends! Wakana and I are good personal friends now, too, but…I wonder why I felt so defeated at the time. Ah, so that was never my seat to begin with… It's been hers for years…
Belatedly, I became painfully aware I had joined a series that had already been running for a long while, so I sat down silently in a chair far away, although I made sure it was within the pair's view (very immature, I know). But Kenichi Ogata, the voice actor for Professor Agasa, called out to me, "Ai-kun, I saved you a seat." He had already entered the studio and put his belongings on the chair next to him. And Ikue Otani, who plays Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, exclaimed, "Ms. Haibara, Ms. Haibara!" and sat down beside me, too, so I had the doctor on my right and Mitsuhiko on my left. This pleasantly warm seating arrangement continues to this very day."

do you have any song from the dr osts that you really like? personally the ones that immediately jump to my mind are living in a lazy parallel world from v3 and the dr2 fakeout intro song
ok so. here's where I fully admit how bad my love for this franchise is. because back when you could check your ALL TIME stats for spotify I checked, and I kid you not, my most played song ever is trapped by the ocean scent. It has been on my spotify wrapped 2 separate times and is my most played song PERIOD. And now that they've updated how far back you can check I will never know if that will ever change!
Tumblr media
Aside from that, I have a Danganronpa playlist that I use with most of my favorite tracks that is 100 songs long and is specifically organized with thought behind the placement of each song. It also has some fan songs too! I listen to it when I'm struggling to be productive a lot.
On the top of my head though, I'd like to talk about how amazing the ending themes for the Danganronpa games are! They make me so emotional and they're all this bittersweet or calm feeling and it's genuinely so nice. The Day Before the Future never fails to calm me down or get me emotional, same with Goodbye Despair High School and Trial END. Similarly to them Closing Argument v3 is also such an interesting and calmingly beautiful track that I adore and has some bittersweetness to it.
One thing I really love about the music in the franchise is the reuse of motifs and updating the songs themself. There's multiple versions of New World Order and they're all empowering and emotional in their own ways. The two versions of trapped by the ocean scent are always so wonderful, again, unironically my most played song of ALL time 😅.
The investigation songs are also great, I love the "jazz" elements the songs have especially Homicide (Or Kill Now), Box 15, And Despair Searching.
I also really love the motif Monokuma has, like, only a few days ago did I realize after years that Let's Start the Killing Game ACTUALLY has the motif of Mr Monokuma After Class IN IT!!!!
I genuinely could say how much I love so much of this franchise's soundtrack all day, but I want to focus on what I think people should absolutely listen to if they haven't since I've been asked.
I know there are some of you out there who haven't actually seen Danganronpa 3, and I won't judge you since that's your choice, but if you're someone who hasn't watched it please oh please listen to this song it is soooooo good: https://youtu.be/EF8lbBkfW8A?si=fe2YLQx080lAKcWe
youtube
In the English version of Danganronpa v3 the ending song was cut, I'm not really certain of the reason why, but it was cut. Because of this it's possible some may have not actually heard it before, Which is a CRIME Because it's delightful!!! Please listen to it!: https://youtu.be/1BnZLuW92Hw?si=VQsSJOBCDRO6dsn4
youtube
I really don't see people talking about the Danganronpa Pachinko, or P Danganronpa, Soundtrack and it really is a shame because I think all of the remixes and songs are great! My favorite song from the album is this one: https://open.spotify.com/track/2dYwE1ete8yshENgPBpOKn?si=1at3xvEmQoWjDwjRUv4CUw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A7K9BG8Br4xp4n7caXN0IM9
And this one!: https://open.spotify.com/track/1lWI7y6gbc1rTy8nbhe7Ck?si=yfBKeuGoR2SuhoaFC-81xQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A7K9BG8Br4xp4n7caXN0IM9
And last but certainly not least, I can't go on a ramble about Danganronpa's songs without mentioning Nagito Komaeda's songs. I won't talk too much about them since, as some may know, I am making an essay video of brief summarizes of my interpretations about the songs. They're all so amazing and beautiful, all three songs are written with his character in mind and sung by Megumi Ogata herself in his voice. I'd genuinely say they're masterpieces and I adore all three with all of my heart. Please listen to them if you get the chance! <3 https://youtu.be/IAMKvTOBHhI?si=ehM_Jl2X0OaTQwL5

Chapter 101
*dies in the street like a dog* aaoaoaouuouu *swings body from the rafters* aaorurouoouu no rest for the wicked no rest no rest... aa aa aa ach ach ack ack agh agh
Tumblr media
there could not be a more earth-shattering opening... the first real peak into living, middle-school-aged Tsukasa... pictured in the rafters of the theater, singing. Singing, like he does---! I'm not ready I'm not ready ...
It's not set in stone, but he might be doing a little vocalization (like a coloratura....?) of Over the Rainbow.... ah you know, I get emotional, as his VA, Megumi Ogata, can sure as hell sing....! So can Nene's, who sings the ED of the anime... it might be rather beautiful....
I hope someone super into music can properly confirm the song...
Tumblr media
please, Amane... what do you want... ? you can't stay quiet and obtuse forever... can we hear it out loud?
Tumblr media
overwhelmingly full of love... Aida is an unbearable master of expression....
I really love ah... this simple interaction, it's so full. Amane knows there's better things for Tsukasa to do, that it's not fun or interesting to stay here, that there would be other people wanting his help... it's not the responsible thing, to ask Tsukasa to stay. But what do we care about that? We only want to know what Amane himself wishes would happen... if he could have anything, if it was only up to him, if we disregard the students, if we disregard what is responsible or proper to want, what would he really want....?
Tumblr media
the most exciting image to ever see... aahhh. Living twins together in their first year of middle school... Amane isn't yet covered in wounds, bandages, and bruises... no rope burns. He's a bit dirty from messing with the clock, is all. Tsukasa's pose is sublime... also, how incredibly small Aida makes the boy's asses in the modern day is wondrous, lol. There was a short period in her art where there was more going on there, but she returned to the stick-thin principle from ye olde times (early JSHK is so ah... 'filled out'? but Snow White is sssooo sticks ... I prefer her more extreme styling, I really love how young and gangly the boys feel....). Tsukasa's shirt isn't tucked in, while Amane's is .... ♥ Such tiny little hips they have... I could really drink in these panels for a century..
Tumblr media
you know, Aoi is always describing Akane as so helpful and kind and always doing everything for everybody, but I feel like we constantly see him being mean and fussy wwwww it's either such a 'tell and not show' situation, or Aoi has way too kind of a view on Akane wwww...
oh yeah! My husband wondered if maybe Aoi can't tie her hair so easily anymore, after losing the feeling in one of her hands.... maybe she'll wear it down more often, as a result.
Anyway Hanako being all whiney left out sad boy is always my favorite... I love little sulking boy. I'm glad Nene is so kind with him. She really does her best for her little man. I love his overly specific ideas of what to do, lol.... Ah... he's very cute isn't he... yabai...
GETTING TO THE MEAT OF THIS ALL, though. Haha .. uah, I dunno... was Amane a Clockkeeper, is that the implication....? Clockkeepers are indentured into servitude in their first year, and serve for the duration of their time at Kamome...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
on the first day no less, the Clockkeepers nab they boy. The Clockkeepers stage something to make a kid desperate... in Akane's case, they endanger Aoi, right in front of Akane..
Tumblr media
is it possible...? Well at least, I don't see why not.... maybe yes maybe no...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
if Amane has been trapped in this system for so much of his life, how miserable that would be... Akane was targetted by the Clockkeepers surely because of how devoted to Aoi he was, while Amane is naturally protective of his little brother....
Tumblr media
I wonder if this is kinda 'moments before disaster' then...
We'll have our whimsy for now, imagining it, at least. Amane wouldn't have Teru there to make him special enchanted glasses, which are what allow Akane to live a somewhat normal life. Amane would have to see kaii everywhere! His power meanwhile, could only stop time for short durations... ah, I've always thought of him as so ignorant of the world of mysticism, so this would be such a shift....
I wonder what sort of measures are taken to keep Clockkeepers in line? Akane is a dutiful boy and even outside of Aoi, does as he's asked in most situations, easily cajoled into anything, as Aoi describes him... but Amane was a difficult boy who is often enough, defecting responsibility, by 2nd year (age 13) anyway....
Tumblr media
I'd imagine there's a kind of mind-wiping of your Clockkeeping career post-serving in order to preserve mysteries... as much as the mysteries erase things suchas memories of missing students.
Tumblr media
well, I would love the resentment and betrayal this would give Amane to recall! Feeling messed with, feeling manipulated, even after all of these years working as a mystery, mingling with No. 1.... aha, really made a fool of, every day, right? Again and again ... And just in time, if the Broadcast Club is angling to snatch the Clockkeepers....
Tumblr media
whatever the case... let's get those damn Clockkeepers!! Whether you ruined Amane's school life or not... ! Aha, sounds like a good motivator to me, and even a good reason for Tsukasa to want to unpack some things to Amane.. what if all the mysteries have done, is ruin the Yugi's lives, ruin Amane's life? We really should tear the place apart then... and as often as possible, use those within the system suffering from it to do it....
uauuuhhhh I'm so worried Amane won't be able to keep his promise for any reason, and will again be too caught up in the mysteries world to enjoy a festival....
Tumblr media
I wonder if even Nene-chan would prefer to miss the festival, than be without you, just like Tsukasa ... wouldn't your girlies always prefer to be with you, even if it means no rainbow cotton candy, no snacks, no plays.... ahhhh.
Nene-chan being so cute... Amane being so romantic.... them being such goons.... all so healingly precious... enough healing preciousness to balance out the looming dangers....
Tumblr media
I hope you two get to do something wonderful and fun, at some point...
ugh...acting so handsomely....
Tumblr media
acting too handsomely....
Tumblr media
me too. Nene-chan.
Tumblr media
its too much when he's being charming.... please spin him and send him to the ground, over and over and over, OK... I can't handle him like this.... but also, let's do everything in our power to give him everything he wants and appease his every ounce of neediness, OK? So that he can become an even greater monster of charisma, and then we can just die about it forever.

Rosella, if its too late but Love will never lose you hope. Of course the sex love from Sriram Karthik never be part of your life. I knew Sriram Karthikn is also a supremacist too, I wonder why Miharasan and Akira Nishitani and even Sriram Karthik and Megumi Chang Ogata wants sex love on you. While the Castlevania Trio creators and KOF creators wants you to be the part of them or under them, that problems are the massive waste like hobo pig.

Just wondering, why wouldn't you recommend Hanako-kun? It's on my to-watch list. I saw you rated it an 8 (sorry for snooping lol) but is something about it bad?
it's not really that i would tell you not to watch it. it's more that it's lacking crucial things from the manga, so much that (afaik) there are plans to re-make the first season entirely. i've read pretty far into the manga and enjoyed it, so i'm hoping those plans don't fall through, because i'd love to see more of it animated 🥲 the pacing of the existing anime is also just...odd. it ends in a weird place, which is really unsatisfying.
BUT if you're looking for reasons to watch it, i'll say that it's super visually appealing, a good mix of silly/serious, the characters are great, and that megumi ogata's voice acting for hanako is really, really good (which isn't something i usually pay much attention to tbh, but she's just so perfect for his character).
so it's a mixed bag!

More 13 sentinels spoilers
Welp taking a break to do battle. Started on casual because im a coward but i did really well like 1% sentinel and city damage and no terminal damage so i bumped it up to normal and i'm doing pretty good 7 chain battle with no terminal damage and like 4% city and sentinel damage, getting all the side objectives and S***** and everything too first try so i probably could play on the harder difficulty. I guess im better than i expected or this game is easy cant tell.
Went and unlocked a bunch of files and oooh okino made anyone who touches miura force summon a sentinel. Why??
Back to remembrance. Ogata: wow your communication skills suck, you could have said i think that train is going to crash why not be on the safe side and just wait for the next one. Instead of ordering around the girl that hates being ordered around. omg of all the people to get stuck in a time loop. Now if i could only place that voice... juro? My second guess would be okino but okino usually sounds more... feminine? D-Code key... Where have i heard that before... Uggg this is what i get for putting this game down for a few days. Gee fuyusaka how come mom let you have FOUR sprites so she's a super agent, nurse, high schooler, and miura's kid sister who's also in 1985 i dont know whats going on. And ogata originally carried the d-code key whatever that is. Oh he met catsuit as a kid and she says he's the one that calls the deimos to 1985 and then she implants him with nanomachines im assuming its the same "magic gun" megumi was shooting people with that turns them into pilots?
Shinonome: 2064, i was wondering what time she was from. I haven't seen this time period yet. Ah yes the cringe crush on her highschool teacher who's also her boss in a spy agency who's using that crush to manipulate her. Morimura and fuyusaka are different people clearly but their demeanors are at least in the same ballpark, ida and amiguchi tho could not be more different and its so funny i cant wait to get to a certain scene later. Sekigahara is also here as are morimura and gouto hmm i wonder if this is the section they are all from and their operations in 1985 are a continuation of what is happening here. They all seem to be working together and just recruited sekigahara and shinonome. 17, 14, 15 i really should memorize sentinel numbers. Oh was this the battle that almost killed izumi. A system attack originating from sekigahara's sentinel... Does this have anything to do with okino? Sekigahara did go to 1944. Oh is this why sekigahara lost his memory and was being hunted? 13, 16, 12, 19, 14 were transmitted. That means 17 15 and one other were unresponsive and then there's gouto and idk if morimura and ida count but wow they got a lot of the pilots. 8 is autonomous i was wondering about the low numbers. Ok so that ida is dead why does 1984 ida look exactly the same. A lot of the factions seem to overlap but im not convinced their goals are exactly the same, either way shinonome is convinced prisoner 426 is her enemy who is sekigahara. Wow i knew her's was going to be intense.
Damn we're playing migraine simulator over here. "Your memories will quickly return" uh yeah bout that i can see from the other routes shinonome's lost most of her memories. Very interesting, in the prologue shinonome's hatred of 426 was driven by her crush on ida but now when gouto ask's she responds that 426 is an AI that destroyed the future and I cant tell if she's lying to gouto or has forgotten her motives. Also sekigahara might be following the instructions of an evil(?) AI or is one himself who knows. How the hell does she recognize ida in amiguchi they act wildly different. so the ida in the 2064 battle didn't die, they are rhe same person. Oh wow there's like no locks on shinonome's story but idk how to get back to nurse 1. Huh so sekigahara says he isnt 426 and didn't infect the sentinel which could still man the AI did th one he might be taking instructions from. And shininome's story leads into kisaragi's in 2025. Morimuro gives iori namomachines every time she takes a nap in her office soo sketchy. Confirmation that morimura is tryin to erase shinonone:s memories and personality like izumi. And fuyusaka's weird dreams are memory transplants
Well that all the unlocked stuff back to fighting going to clear out area 1 before more story. And i am now playing on intense. I'm doing fine on intense bove 90% on everything which is amazing considering i have no idea how to use gen 1s like they get deployed and most of the time do nothing (except ei so i guess its mostly the two punk boys who stand around and do nothing). Aw i got capped at 10 consecutive battles, i havent done any non consecutive battles. Baby chihiro showed up and knows how to shift 1.2 mil ppl. Oh hey the idol is here still dont know what her deal is because i havent done shu's story but she's going to the mainframe (ufo) and that will stop things? She's fixing it? Okino's last resort? Why do i get the feeling she's an AI.
Time to finally unlock stuff. Amiguchi first. I wonder if ida actually is from 2024 i cant remember the dates he's popped up in. The lab dream bro what. Is this og ida? And he turned tamao into an AI that's like turning nicola tesla into an AI. So this is where all the androids came from. Assuming og this is something after the sectors were completed nd sector 0 destroyed? Which places this way after all the og miura scenes. Horrible thought then that all then wandering androids were once sapient like tamao and kisaragi here but are now malfunctioning. Hmm no i dont think this is og if this is the iteration juro gunned them down (maybe). That idol def only exists in the tv and is connected to the sentinels stuff somehow.. universal controller heard that somewhere before. The brain is retained so cyborgs technically. And year 2100 so yeh thi is one of the iterations probably.
Miura. I love him. Precious. Him, natsuno, and bj talking is really funny as sad. As lot of miura is heartbreaking like he's haunted by so much of his past searching for any hint of his last remaining family member. What. Og takamiya is natsuno's mom. And there was maybe an actual alien invasion? Ok straight up child abduction, that was miura's sister chihiro in 1985 like actual same person for once. Still dont know what was up with the chihiro/morimura/fuyusaka in ogata's story. Anyways gouto sees baby chihiro as the same as the nurse. Actually. if miura knows gouto why didnt he recognize him in the park? I was also wondering about the multiple apocalypses until i remembered its not so much time travel so much as different spaces that are in different eras. When tamao dies she disappears this better not be we're all actually in a computer simulation. "Universal control has shifted her" but its not like sentinel shifts, shifted where. They're totally in virtual reality aaaaaaaaaa i hate it. "She is mot truly dead. Instead she remains under life support inside her pod, waiting for the end." ... Its a computer simulation.... I think its interesting that 2188 miura liked history and 1944 miura likes scifi. Wow this game just wont stop hurting miura i vaguely remember some of this. Wonder how morimura ended up baby and miura's little sister. I guess there's now 2? Maybe 3 morimuras running around. Oh is this 2188 morinura? Which miura is in bj? 2188 og miura? One of the past iterations?
On to gouto finally. Thought he'd be unlocked by shininome. So he's from 2064 too... Morimura and ida were from there too i think? The bridge? Hmm so the lab of 2104 is in space and earth has been lost. Okino, morimura, ida, and gouto all know that the surface of 1.2 billion automated factories just produce kaiju. I was questioning if it was purposeful or not, there's also how professor takamiya the og im assuming said the front line would soon be lost and i was wondering why she was fleeing to the space colony. But maybe the something similar happened in the og world where the automated factories went haywire. When og shinonome talked about sabotaging project ark i thought they were in deep space like closed system the kaiju are produced on the ship, but if they are still in orbit then they could be getting attacked from there which would explain why ida's calculations were off in... 2064's? battle, oooor this could all be virtual reality. Gouto's prologue is a lot to unpack. Morimira is the real body (just how many rests have there been? None yet? The more i learn the less i know. Im totally going to have to read a story summary after all this) and there's clones running around. Oh right i forgot what side nurse morimura was on i remember there was something. So og morimura suspects 426 is involved and maybe body jacked her original body. Wait i misunderstood something. The morimura-sensei gouto is referring too and the one in the small body who regained her memories isnt the og. Oh everything makes so much more sense now. Why morimura was working with ida but now has a different agenda and why we havent been talking about morimura in 2188. This is dream morimura who is different from nurse morimura. Which begs the question why is gouto and co letting nurse morimura do memory alterations on shinonome and kurabe unless they dont want her to know that they're on to her wow things are getting interesting fast. Juicy so child morimura is the clone with implanted memories. Or maybe she in the og. I cant remember the conflict about operation aegis need ro go rewatch that. Oooh so og gouto was an old man that was ceo of shikishina that bought the nanomachine memory company and he calls a hit on morimura chihiro because her "project" (ark?) threatens shikishima. Last to unlock and now a lock for all 12 at 80% damn ok gouto's the final boss.

Okay ALSO watched the first episode of Original Tokyo Mew Mew while waiting for the next episode of New to come out... I think I’ll just keep going up to the point it catches up with New.
I really like how the OG takes its time with set-up! Granted Shirogane and Akasaka end up looking even worse with how they go about recruitment, but the slower set-up overall is very nice!
I did reblog a post recently that talked about how much more realistic the Iriomote cat is in New. I was expecting OG to have a more heavily stylized one, not just a regular-ass cat they’re calling an Iriomote. Makes me wonder what the lorikeet, porpoise, and tamarin are gonna look like.
And I absolutely loved the slow horror-movie introduction of the Anima. Good stuff! In New it’s just sorta... there.
But overall can’t overstate how much I appreciate the slower pace. Why’s everything gotta rush through at twelve episodes for a season-length plot these days? Let your plots and characters BREATHE dammit!

Why Sakura Nagashi is from Shinji’s POV  (Feelings for Kaworu and Grief)
Sakura Nagashi is the song that plays in the Rebuild 3.33 credits, the song starts to play in the end, when Asuka forces Shinji to walk, and with them is Rei
and also, there's a cover of Sakura Nagashi by Megumi Ogata, the Japanese voice actress of Shinji
a very curious thing is that in the cover of Megumi Ogata, playing in the background we have a piano (instrument that Kaworu plays) and a cello (instrument that Shinji plays)
The song talks about grief, pain and the desire to have someone back, in case of this song really represents the feelings of a character, the only one I can think of, is Shinji.
Stopping to analyze the whole context of Rebuild 3.33, what was the character that was sad and devastated by the death of someone? that's right, Shinji
This song, in my opinion, talks about Shinji's feelings after Kaworu's death
if you want to listen the song with english lyrics, you can listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq0YZGjB5cI
and the Megumi Ogata cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLHrirpuYtI
(and pls guys, listen the version of the japanese voice actress of Shinji,is basically, Shinji crying and singing.. is so beautiful and sad)
Tumblr media
Analyzing the lyrics
1.  “ Watching flowers just blossomed fall, “too early, this year” you said in disappointment, regret ”
Ok, if the song is about Shinji's perspective and feelings, so in this part of "Too early this year" is Kaworu speaking... then Kaworu may be referring not only to the falling flowers, but to the time they spent together, which unfortunately went very fast
 2. “If you could see me now, i wonder what you would think, me, living without you”
This hurts and totally defines what Shinji may be feeling after Kaworu's death
maybe he must be thinking what Kaworu would think if he saw that "me” Shinji turned after Kaworu’s death, someone (like in EOE) is sad, hopeless, feeling guilty, grieving ... and most likely, wanting to die
Tumblr media
3. “If you could hear the newborn’s cry, sound and healthy, Ringing in the town you protected, i know you would be so pleased”
This part seemed to me Shinji talking about Kaworu's sacrifice in 3.33, at the moment when everything went wrong, Kaworu preferred to die in order to save humanity, and this part seemed to me very much Shinji talking about it, how happy Kaworu would be if he were alive and seeing these little happy things
4. “Everybody finds love, in the end”
At first I didn't really know how to analyze this part of the song, but after my Kawoshin friend, Diko, explained to me her interpretation of that part, everything made sense
When people listen to this song for the first time, they think that "everybody finds love in the end" means that consequently, everyone finds love in the end, but it doesn't really mean that, she said some things very important here:
“ First of all, this is broken up into two lines. Utada Hikaru could have just sung it all in one single sentence "Everybody finds love in the end." << THIS is how I feel the audience is reading into the lyric: "Oh cool that's uplifting. Eventually, everyone finds love in the end, right?" NO. This changes the meaning and tone of the chorus. Go back on Youtube or Spotify, and listen to her singing it:
“Everybody fiiiiinds loooooveee...”
THERE IS A PAUSE BEFORE SHE SAYS
"...in the end....in the end..."
The tone in her voice SHIFTS from being happy, to being much more solemn.
In the poetry and lyrically written world, this term is called "Enjambment." It's supposed to be *a single thought separated by two different feelings or tones, broken up into two lines for emphasis*
So when she is saying "Everybody finds love" she is comforted by the thought that the person who is singing this song has FOUND a love, but when she says "...in the end," with her sad tone, she is reminded they are no longer there with her, she found love in the end when it was *too late to even blossom,* like the sakura. ”
Is not “Everybody finds love in the end”, is “Everybody finds love..... in the end...”
This part means that Shinji found love, but it was in the end... it was late, because now, the person that he loved, died.
5. “ I can’t believe that I’ll never see you again, i haven’t told you anything yet, i haven’t told you anything yet! ”
Of the whole song, this part is for sure the one that breaks my heart the most, I can't even describe all the emotional charge that this part of the song has, I can totally imagine Shinji thinking something like that, but let's analyze the sentence a little
Kaworu died, Kaworu sacrificed himself for humanity in the ending of 3.33 and Shinji couldn't say anything, he had so much to say, he hasn't said anything yet Now he don’t have time to say anything, it’s too late, but... what's so important that he didn't even tell Kaworu??
what does this " I haven't told you anything yet " really mean?
does he refer to his feelings about Kaworu? romantic feelings?
This part reminds me that in NGE, Shinji can never say "I love you too" to Kaworu, he never had the opportunity to show or talk about his love to Kaworu because of all the events
this happens in NGE and also in 3.33, Shinji was unable to talk about his feelings for Kaworu
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He can never say anything about his love for Kaworu, because Kaworu always ends up dying, both in anime and in Rebuild,  He hasn't told Kaworu anything about how he feels towards Kaworu.
So.. is this "I haven't told you anything yet" can be the "I love you" ?
and well, the analysis ends here.
The last part of the song is  “ No matter how frightening it is, I won't look away, if there is love at the end of everything. “
but the problem is.. i really don’t know what this part means serious guys, i don’t have any idea about what that part of the song means, I really can't really analyze what that part means, it's basically the only positive and joyful part of this song
but for now, I can't think about what it means if you have any interpretation, pls tell meee, but thank you guys for read this <3

sooo I’ve just watched Jujutsu Kaisen Zero, the movie. It was an experience! Got to hand it to Mappa, they always DELIVER.
impressions under the cut!
i think Yuta may have breathed and I knew that Shinji’s seiyu Megumi Ogata was giving him her voice!! What a treat, she’s just perfect for the role of a “I really lack self-confidence” role. Also Yuta is my son, but hey
really cool song at the beginning of the film, really awesome animation AS alWAYS really Mappa (when are you bringing Ice Adolescence to the big screen when)
the battle scenes were just... so enjoyable?? it just feels so powerful, when you see Yuta is about to start fighting, Rika is near him, and it just EXPLODES ughhhh it feels really cathartic
i’m just really curious about what happened between Gojo and Geto, why did he turn evil? it was a bit explained but i wonder if there’s something more. big divorce energy between the two, and Gojo saying that he’s the “only true friend I have” doesn’t help..
and Nanamin. If Yuta is mon son, Nanamin is obviously husband, ofc.
really liked those two parts of the movie where you get to see Yuta’s relationship with Maki and Toge progress, and you see why Yuta is so invested in protecting them
Great movie all around, wish I could watch it another time! Maybe I will who knows

fave dr ships and why?? :0
Hmm, that’s a pretty fun question! There are so many fun character interactions in each game that there’s a lot of ships I really like, so I’ll try to briefly just touch on some of my favorites in each game!
There aren’t really any spoilers in my reply, but I’m going to include a read-more anyway because even trying to keep it brief, there were a lot of ships to cover, so it still got pretty long.
In dr1, I honestly really love naegiri. Naegi gets a lot of flack for “not being interesting enough” or “not bringing anything to the table,” but I think he worked really well as the protagonist for the first installment of the series, and I absolutely think he and Kirigiri have a lot of great chemistry. Kirigiri and Naegi’s relationship is all about finding a balance between doubt and belief, and both of them really help each other grow as people. I think their dynamic is at its best in the first game, since Kirigiri gets so much time to shine and really feels more like the deuteragonist of the series than anyone else. Plus watching Naegi try to learn how to read her stoic façade when she’s really quite emotional under the  surface is so much fun.
I’m also a huge fan of aoisakura. I love everything about their interaction, and chapter 4 of dr1 is still one of the best in the whole series in my opinion. Both of them care so much about each other even from early on, and Aoi’s anger at how the others treat Sakura or talk about her like she’s hardly even a person comes across as so legitimate. It’s such a great and largely underrated ship, so I always love to see it.
I also have to say that I like kirizono quite a lot! They don’t have much in the way of interaction in canon, considering how early Maizono dies, but it’s one of those ships where I’m much more interested in the overall potential. Kirigiri seems to have a very good grasp of what Maizono was actually like as a person and what she might have been thinking in her final moments. While she uncovers the truth of the events of chapter 1, she doesn’t see Maizono as irredeemable for tricking Naegi, but merely as someone who was scared and who ultimately couldn’t go through with her own plan. She knew that Maizono was trying to help Naegi in her own way by leaving him a dying message, and I would have loved to see a detective-and-assistant duo with Kirigiri and Maizono in some alternate universe.
Other ships from dr1 that I enjoy even if I’m not super invested in them from an analysis standpoint are celesgiri (how could I not ship the original liar and detective), naekusaba (DR IF really sold me on this one), ishimondo (all around a solid, great ship), and naegami (honestly I just think the idea of Kirigiri and Togami both dating Naegi but barely tolerating each other as friends is really funny).
Sdr2 is probably the game where I wound up the least invested in shipping, but there are still a few that I like!
Hinanami isn’t quite as appealing to me as naegiri, mostly due to Nanami being used twice for Hinata’s character development, but they have some really cute moments that I do enjoy a lot, and I really love any interaction between the two of them as gamer friends. Nanami is so much more mischievous than most people give her credit for; I still can’t help remembering when I replayed sdr2 a year or two ago and got to the part with her threatening to poke Hinata’s eyes out during an investigation, and I nearly lost my shit because I didn’t remember it at all from previous playthroughs.
I’m not quite as invested in komahina as I thought I would be when I first got into DR, but I definitely don’t mind it either! I think Komaeda’s feelings for Hinata are pretty textual and undeniable; lines like “I’m in love with the hope that’s sleeping inside you” are impossible, in my opinion, to handwave as “just a friend thing,” and Megumi Ogata has all but stated outright that her character song for Komaeda is specifically about Hinata.
Of course, I definitely think Komaeda would need to work on a lot of his internalized ideas about talent and self-worth, and that he and Hinata would have to start as friends first before carrying their relationship into anything romantic, but if their really cute interation in ndrv3’s talent development plan is anything to go off of, I think Hinata definitely does want to help Komaeda value himself more and wants to be friends with him.
As for other ships that I enjoy more casually, I like twobuki (if that’s even what people are still calling Twogami/Impostor and Ibuki as a ship), sondam (all of Sonia’s nerding out about Gundam’s chuunibyou interests is honestly super adorable), nanamiki (I feel like Nanami and Mikan could honestly have a cute dynamic if Mikan weren’t under Junko’s influence), and… I actually have no idea for this ship name, but Impostor/Hinata is really sweet. This is more related to dr3, but one of the few things I did come out feeling positively about was Impostor/Mitarai, despite everything else about how the story turned out.
Finally, there’s ndrv3! There’s quite a lot of ships I really love here, so it’s actually a little hard to narrow it down.
I hardly think I need to mention saiouma at this point, since it’s the ship I talk about the most on this blog, but it’s still my favorite ship from pretty much anything ever. I love their dynamic so much: the way they both embody the themes of “truth” and “lies” within the game respectively, the way they constantly want to know more about each other while being afraid to open up or trust each other completely, and the fact that they so perfectly manage to capture the chase of the “phantom thief vs. detective” trope to the point that it was even lampshaded in Ouma’s love hotel... all of these things just make it so much fun.
It’s another ship where I just love thinking about the potential, whether in an AU where Ouma might have lived or else where the killing game never took place at all. I honestly really love ships that deal with a lot of slow-burn and both characters thinking their affections are unrequited when it turns out they’re actually both just idiots with a bad case of pining. I also really love the fact that, in my opinion, it’s a ship where Saihara would have to really take the initiative in the end—otherwise, Ouma is just going to keep trying to run away every time he drops an “I love you,” or “you’re my favorite.”
I also really, really love himiten. It’s a ship that gets a lot more flack than it deserves, in my opinion, and it’s sad to see that it’s a little underappreciated these days. There are flaws and problems within the ship, of course, but these are things that are actually addressed within the game itself. Himiko’s apathy and disregard towards Tenko’s feelings is called out pretty bluntly in the later parts of chapter 3, and she winds up mourning Tenko’s death and taking her last advice to heart more than anyone else.
Meanwhile, while Tenko certainly meant well and always had Himiko’s best interests at heart, it’s true that she came across as somewhat condescending sometimes (albeit unintentionally) by treating Himiko like a cute animal instead of a person.  I think that she understood Himiko’s feelings a lot better by chapter 3, which is why she prioritized trying to let Himiko talk to Angie one more time despite her own misgivings about Angie. Tenko grew a lot more as a character than a lot of people give her credit for, and I would have loved to see any post-game scenario where Himiko and Tenko could’ve finally started a relationship on equal footing outside of the game.
I actually have two entire ships for Miu that I am equally fond of. Both kiiruma and irumatsu are really great in my opinion, in totally different ways. The sheer chaotic potential of kiiruma gets overlooked a lot of times, I think, but both of them are complete disasters. They have so much fun together and it really shows, both in canon and in the talent development plan as well. Kiibo is so wonderful and I love him so much, because you’d think he’d be the voice of reason as a “cold, logical robot”—but honestly, he’s just as messed-up and over the top as Miu. I mean, he did photograph her poop on what turned out to be a live audience national broadcast and he didn’t see anything wrong with this.
Kiibo is one of the few characters who vocally talks about missing Miu after her death in chapter 4, and he repeatedly tells her how much he appreciates her maintenance work on him both in canon and in one of their talent development scenes. In one such scene, he even mentions wanting to continue their ongoing relationship after they graduate, which I think is surprisingly sweet and adorable for the two of them. Honestly, Miu is about as wild as a DR character ever gets, and I love the idea of her and Kiibo just having fun with each other.
Meanwhile, Kaede and Miu’s dynamic is a lot more back-and-forth. Kaede spends a good part of her FTEs absolutely frustrated and fed up with Miu, but also decidedly worried for her well-being and wondering how she might get her to be more of a team player. She’s not afraid to put her foot down when Miu crosses the line, but she’s also one of the few people who’s ever been willing to stand by Miu and encourage her or actually be her friend in spite of how awful Miu is at interacting with others.
Even in the talent development plan, Kaede’s often seen together with Miu a lot, which I think is super cute and confirms that even at Hope’s Peak, she’d still be trying to make sure Miu had a friend around. And she was able to tell that, despite what a disaster Miu’s idea with the Christmas lights was, it was Miu’s own way of trying to add to the festivities and do something nice for other people. All in all, it’s one of my favorite wlw DR ships, and I really love when fanworks capture just how shy or flustered Miu got around Kaede sometimes.
Of course, I like momoharu a lot as well! It’s one of the ships that has grown on me quite a bit in my absence, mostly just because despite all of Momota’s flaws, he really does want Maki to love herself first and foremost. Maki’s own feelings for Momota are so important to her character growth and really represent her feeling as though she’s finally made a choice for the first time in her life, and it’s really heartwarming to see. Also, any ship where the girl could lift a guy up with one arm without breaking a sweat is a pretty good ship in my opinion.
As for other ndrv3 ships that I enjoy a lot, there’s saihoshi (Hoshi is extremely underrated as a character, and I adore how sweet his FTEs and salmon mode with Saihara were; it’s also another ship where I feel Saihara would have to really take the initiative to make Hoshi fully open up, which I like), amamatsu (Kaede and Amami had a lot of really funny, great interaction in chapter 1 and some fun banter in their FTEs, so I would’ve loved to see more of it), and harumatsu/kaemaki (again, they have a lot of potential and it would have been extremely interesting to see them interact more).
I also like saiibo, not so much in the way that most people ship it (their love hotel is cute, don’t get me wrong!), but mostly because Kiibo’s FTEs are the funniest set of FTEs in the whole game in my opinion, and the twist where they were both looking down on each other without the other one knowing just made my jaw drop before I started laughing my ass off. They’re almost as much of a disaster together as Kiibo and Miu are, and I think the humor in their dynamic sometimes gets overlooked.
There are even more ships that I like, and I could keep going on and on, but I should probably leave things off here. Character interactions are so much fun in DR, both because of the genuine growth and character development from a lot of the cast, but also because so many of them are so whacky and borderline cartoonish that it’s just really fun imagining further interactions between them. Thank you for the fun ask, anon!

my thoughts on worlds end club, under the cut because it’ll probably be long and also spoilers
so i bought the game today at around 9am and played it until i beat it at around 11:30pm ish? so ha uh yeah it took a little while but i was very enthralled in the story
the story and characters are hands down the best part of the game. compared to literally any of the danganronpa games, i like the cast of characters so much more. like there’s always one or two in a danganronpa games group that i just don’t like but in wec i loved all of them. i’d usually dislike chuko’s tsundere character type but i actually ended up liking her. my least favorite is probably dragon power ranger kid whatshisname but i don’t hate him or anything i just found him to be the weakest character tbh. but i do really like his character design
speaking of the character designs OOF they’re all so good. i didn’t realize until looking up stuff on the characters but they’re all based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac which is cool and the design elements are subtle and it’s not narratively important but i mean they didn’t need to be. there’s a few offhand remarks here and there like comparing kansai to a tiger and chuko to a rat but they’re not really shoved in your face which is nice
oh also i wanna compliment pai in particular. she’s the boar character which first of all i feel like people would usually make male, and if they made her female, then she would be angry and stubborn and probably not conventionally attractive but she’s not any of those! also she’s a little heavier than the rest of the girls which 1. makes her even more adorable, and 2. no one in the game brings up or makes fun of her for which is nice. mowchan sadly didn’t get exactly the same treatment he was still the fat comic relief character. he deserved so much better.
the art is all so pretty as well like i already loved the art style from pokemon and in wec it’s even more exaggerated and i live for it. i also like the movie they’re watching at the beginning has more realistic humans that’s just kinda funny.
the humor is pretty good i guess but what i’m really here for is the fun childish but realistic portrayal of friendship and emotions like it does kinda take me back to my own little group of friends in elementary school, where sometimes there would be disagreements, but we were still always friends
i loved reicho as a canonically mute protag and how none of his friends ever minded or even brought it up like that’s so cute. but the reveal that reicho was basically just a big puppet kinda just made it feel a little different... like idk how to explain it but yeah
ANYWAY here’s my obligatory paragraph about pochi because he’s my son now. the writers knew what they were doing by making him a kinda shy gamer kid bc they knew people were gonna relate to him even when he had a somewhat smaller role in the story before turning into the full fledged protagonist. anyway this robot puppy boy is my son i will protect him
the scene where pochi basically gets dunked on by the rest of the team is weird to me like idk it just feels out of character for most of them to be like lol yeah pochis useless RIGHT after he drove an entire train to one of the specific places that those special mushrooms grow and now they can all see vanilla
also kinda unrelated but this is my second game in the past few months where i correctly guessed one of the characters was voiced by megumi ogata because dang i just love her voice. this time it was pochi and the other one was the protag in the famicom detective club games. i legit heard one line and was like HOL UP and googled it lmao
i’m still confused on why the story takes place in the 90s. it doesn’t have a particularly 90s aesthetic and most of the technology just doesn’t match up with 90s tech. like i feel like it works better if it takes place more near present day. if there’s more cultural reasons then i’m not sure what they are but i’m really curious about this. the game is very reliant on japanese culture and locations, which isn’t a bad thing but i’m an ignorant american who was also born after the 90s so im wondering if there’s some specific reason why it’s SPECIFICALLY 90s japan
oh yeah i haven’t even talked about the gameplay yet. it’s.... shitty. maybe i’m a little biased because i’m not a big platformer girl but even so it’s just not.... good...... i kinda got myself soft locked one time because a big snowman guy was blocking my way and i had no way to kill him or get around him, luckily you can just restart from your last checkpoint but still. some of the special abilities/attacks just didn’t feel that good to use, like dragon boi’s and chuko’s felt too short range at times and jennu’s and aniki’s felt a little too slow. the rest were fine i guess. the only one i felt like was done well was kansai’s.
i played on easy mode cuz it was the default one that was highlighted and idk if it effects the platforming sections or the “puzzles” but the puzzles were way too easy. most of them just felt like they were checking that you paid basic attention to the story. the ones at the end are somewhat harder but i still didn’t have any problems with them. the stuff the outright tell you would have mad better puzzles like the xxy thing but at the same time were you even supposed to realize that? the otherworlder aka you i guess says it like no big deal but like i guess the middle x looked slightly different? but not enough to be like OH OBVIOUSLY ITS X TIMES Y. on the flipside i solved the heaven map puzzle before i even had all of the pieces. i guess i have to give it some slack though because it would probably be a bit harder if you didn’t really know english kinda like the danganronpa 11037 thing
also am i just stupid or how were you supposed to know the year the phone displayed was the y number in that puzzle? i forgot to get it before trying to solve the puzzle so i knew it corresponded to the y because it was the only clue i didn’t have so i didn’t have to think about it that hard but like did the phone have something to do with the letter y or was it just like a what clue haven’t i used kinda thing
anyway apologies for the super long post if you read the whole thing then wow thanks i guess? anyway in conclusion pochi is my son

SPOILER-FREE REVIEW: Evangelion 3.0+1.0 is a Happy End to Evangelion
Tumblr media
A note on safety: The following movie review undertook the strictest of safety procedures to watch the anime film in cinemas in Japan, including washing hands with disinfectant before and after, sitting in seats apart from others, going to a cinema outside of the busy metro area, and wearing a mask during the entire runtime of the movie. We strongly urge everyone to follow the recommended safety protocol in your country and always wear a mask when in public — not just for your sake, but everyone else’s as well.
In the spirit of the recent release of the latest (and final) Evangelion movie, we wish to talk about the momentous occasion in an honest, but respectful way for those outside of Japan who cannot see the movie yet. Here, you will find our totally spoiler-free review. Later, we will be posting a full spoiler-filled review for those who wish to read. Stay tuned!
If Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo is the tale of death, despair, and hopelessness, then Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is the antithesis of that. It’s easy to see why the films were originally supposed to be seen together. Like a melody, they complement each other, with 3.0+1.0 building on the threads 3.0 left hanging. Maybe that happens in another world, but after nine years of waiting for the final Evangelion film, it feels like those threads were twisted into something different; something much greater.
Originally slated to release in 2008, it’s been a long road to the final Evangelion film, at least now as we know it. What we would have gotten back then, or even in 2015, is not the film that we got today, and I think that largely has to do with the film’s creator Hideaki Anno.
Anno once said that the Rebuild of Evangelion films was an “aim to walk towards the future.” 3.0+1.0 embodies that immensely, not just story-wise and animation-wise, nor even as a reflection of the anime industry as a whole. Rather, it’s Anno’s reflection on the series, and what it means to him through the eyes of Shinji Ikari.
Tumblr media
From the get-go, Evangelion 3.0+1.0 returns to the roots of what makes the franchise so eternal. We get to see the human aspect of Evangelion outside the headspace of Ikari, as well as see how humanity has survived through the near-apocalyptic events that frequent this universe.
All of it helps to ground the Rebuild films back from …  whatever happened in Evangelion 3.0. As questions are answered, more questions arise, but that’s the nature of Evangelion. It isn’t Anno’s job to give all the answers; It’s his job to take the viewer for a ride, and with that, he delivers it in the most Evangelion way possible.
Know that if you’re a fan of Evangelion, the story and subsequent conclusion will be satisfying. Yeah, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 goes pretty meta, as expected of a film that is inspired by the End of Evangelion, but there’s no tumbling down here.
Tumblr media
One of the sorer points of the film is the animation. While not bad, in terms of how far Khara has gone with 3DCGI is congratulatory the quality of the 2D animation and post-processing doesn’t really build on what we’ve seen in the previous entries in the series. For better or worse, the 3.0+1.0 films keep the same animation aesthetic.
And remember that Evangelion 1.0 came out in 2007. The time span between 3.0+1.0 and 1.0 is longer than between End of Evangelion and 1.0.
While the quality of the 2D animation has roughly stayed the same, the level of detail in the animation movement is as meticulous as always. Using the preview as an example, as the crew tries to put the USB in the plug, they fumble, putting it the wrong way around before fixing their mistake. That level of thoughtful level detail of the character animation is littered throughout the film through both the high-action moments and the mundane.
Tumblr media
There are a few scenes that use the CG elements Khara is best known for to create some beautiful sun-lit landscapes, complemented by beautiful backgrounds. While Khara doesn’t go for the full blend of CG and 2D, the CG has very much improved since 2012.
Though, does that really matter if 3.0+1.0 is the peak of visuals for the most optimum visual experience of the Evangelion franchise? The iconic visual language that Evangelion has built over the last two and half decades merged with the red aesthetic that populated the visuals in Evangelion 3.0 helps bring the Evangelion identity to its peak.
The movie’s storyboarding work continues to truly be a highlight. The magnificent mise-en-scène continues to elevate the franchise to be some of the best scene direction in anime. As the characters converse – or refuse to in some parts– the way they’re placed in the scene, along with the color, the camera angle, and whatever mild animation is occurring, comes through just in the character’s body language and tone.
youtube
A preview of Hikaru Utada’s wonderful theme for Evangelion 3.0+1.0
I was lucky enough to watch the film in IMAX, and while the format didn’t help the animation look any better, the sound design was immensely heart-thumping, but not so loud that it drowned out the dialogue or music. From Mari taking on an “Angel” in Paris to the final sweeping shot, every sound effect reverberated through me as I took in what was happening.
One perfect example of this sounds design. There is one scene in which there are multiple conversations going on at once in multiple locations, in which the characters are melancholically processing what is happening around them during a rainstorm, much like a scene out of The Garden of Words. At no point did I miss a single piece of dialogue throughout the interactions, nor was I unable to hear any other sound effects or music. It was oddly calming for an Evangelion flick.
This brings me to the score of the film, once again composed by Shiro Sagisu. Evangelion is known for its great music (so much so that Anno “borrowed” it for Shin Godzilla) and is so recognizable that anyone in Japan knows the battle theme; that Timpani rhythmic beat is iconic.
Sagisu once again brings it home with some of the best pieces in Evangelion history. There are the usual tracks you will remember from past films, but some of them have been remixed and changed to suit what is trying to be conveyed. The music felt like it has evolved, taking inspiration from scores from the last decade in films like Mad Max: Fury Road. The sounds are distinctly Evangelion but just an evolved form.
Tumblr media
One thing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time makes certain, and something I couldn’t believe despite all the marketing messages is that this is Hideaki Anno’s true end of Evangelion. It may not be the last time we get an Evangelion-something, but this is the end of the franchise for Anno. The end, which brought a tear to my eye, perfectly encapsulated Anno’s feelings on the matter.
And for that, I thank him for pouring his heart and soul into the film, and I bid a big Bye-Bye, All of Evangelion.
And as promised, there was fanservice all the way to the end.
Tumblr media

There is much more to discuss with Anno’s final Evangelion film than what is written here. Shinji’s voice actor Megumi Ogata said that March 22 was the embargo on spoilers so stay tuned for our spoiler-filled review because we need to talk about that final part in the movie in some way.
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is currently showing in theaters across Japan, there’s no word on an international release at this stage.

My Review of Toilet Bound Hanako-kun
Tumblr media
How did I… *giggles inappropriately like a 7 year old* What the hell kind of anime is this? Does this anime take place on the crapper? Shit, I gotta watch this mess!
Tumblr media
And seriously, who animated this? Was it the same guys that did Danganronpa?
Let me see…Studio Lerche…YEP! And that also explains why the main boy is played by Megumi Ogata again!
At Kamome Academy, there’s said to be seven wonders haunting the school. One of the wonders revolves around an apparition by the name of Hanako-kun. Hanako resides in the third stall of the third floor to the girl’s bathroom. It is believed that Hanako has the ability to grant any wish when summoned. We begin our tale with young girl, Nene Yashiro, seeking Hanako’s help to get a young boy to fall in love with her. But when she summons Hanako it is quickly discovered that Hanako is a boy living in a girl’s bathroom stall.
Tumblr media
Your guess is as good as mine! Add another questionable character Megumi Ogata plays!
Due to a misunderstanding with a mermaid artifact, Yashiro is now bound to Hanako. Kind of like a slave or a hostage or a new friend. However you interpret this contract! And then there’s this monk in training (named Minamoto) who has a vendetta against Hanako. So we see this guy throughout the series as well.
Tumblr media
Let’s have fun with the wacky misadventures of Yashiro, a gung-ho monk, and the toilet-bound spirit, Hanako-kun.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: This is a FUNimation licensed anime and they managed to dub several episodes prior to the COVID pandemic. I never got a chance to watch the dub, so I’ll just focus on the sub. Megumi Ogata is back to play another mysterious boy. And as for Akari Kitou, I’m starting to hear her a lot more often in the last two years. I really enjoyed her as Yashiro. Almost reminds me of her voice in Hitoribocchi! She’s in quite a bit of animes in 2020, so I would watch out for her. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from!
JAPANESE CAST: *Hanako is played by Megumi Ogata (known for Haruka/Uranus on Sailor Moon S, Yukito on CCS, Kurama on Yu Yu Hakusho, Naegi on Danganronpa, Shinji on Evangelion, Ayato on Angel Beats, and Yugi on YGO)
*Yashiro is played by Akari Kitou (known for Aru on Hitoribocchi, Kotoko on In/Spectre, and Kaho on Blend S)
*Minamoto is played by Shouya Chiba
ENGLISH CAST: *Hanako is played by Justin Briner (known for Deku on My Hero Academia, Yukito on CCS: Clear Card, Luck on Black Clover, and Mitarai on Danganronpa 3)
*Yashiro is played by Tia Ballard (known for Happy on Fairy Tail, Yamato on My Love Story, Kagura on Fruits Basket 2019, Komari on Little Busters, Zero Two on Darling in the FranXX, and Megumi on Shiki)
*Minamoto is played by Tyson Rinehart (known for Daru on Steins;Gate, Enji on Tokyo Ghoul, Hifumi on Danganronpa, Matsuda on High School DxD, and Bartolomeo on One Piece)
Tumblr media
SHIPPING: At the beginning of the series, it seems as though Yashiro was the type to fall in love easily with pretty-looking boys. But will always meet up with disappointment as all these boys prefer someone else or they suddenly have standards. There’s even a running joke about Yashiro having fat ankles (or daikon legs), that has been a turn-off to some of the boys that she falls for. But a few episodes later, we notice Yashiro having a little crush on Hanako. I shouldn’t question a little girl falling in love with a ghost who loiters around the girl’s bathroom because this is Japan. Absurdity at best! There’s also this sort of admiration that Minamoto has for Yashiro. I really didn’t think too much on that due to this anime laying on the Hanako x Yashiro ship thick. And also…

I support Minamoto x Mitsuba.
I found this cute and I really wish for more between these two characters if this series gets a continuation. Don’t at me! I don’t care if Mitsuba’s an apirition and dumbass over here has to exercise demons. This is cute!

ANIMATION: Aside from this animation looking like it came from the ghost of Danganronpa past, I would like to commend this on something else. So one thing I do have to give credit to is that this anime, more often than not feels like you’re reading a manga from the way the design is setup. I just thought that was neat and felt like saying something about that.

ENDING: Pretty much all of the strange anomalies surrounding the school are just rumors (but the ghosts are very much real, just the tales about them are fake). And the one spreading those rumors is Hanako’s twin brother (who is also a ghost), Tsukasa. I should also point out that Hanako’s real name is Amane. But we really shouldn’t worry about this sibling rivalry as we know nothing about how or why Hanako killed his brother and it’s not brought up all that much in the finale. Yeah, this is balls-to-the-wall trippy.
Instead, we get a small arc of Minamoto befriending a spirit named Mitsuba. However this goes south really fast when Mitsuba’s soul is used by one of the seven wonders of the school and is then manipulated by Hanako’s twin brother Tsukasa. After that, Mitsuba is unable to know why he died or even the time he spent with Minamoto is erased.
In the final episode, we kinda go back to aspects of the first episode. As you may recall, Yashiro swallowed a mermaid artifact that makes her turn into a fish whenever she gets wet. Yashiro is visited by two fish spirits who want her to drink this mermaid blood potion so that she can cut the hold Hanako has on her and become the mermaid princess in their realm. Yashiro was kind of in an awkward situation as she cares for Hanako, but is constantly thrown bags of reality at her with how Hanako has treated her since forming the contract. They promise her popularity, a harem of eligible fish bachelors, and an escape from her body issue with her “daikon legs”.
Tumblr media
Hey, you’d develop a complex too if people constantly taunt you for having fat ankles!
Anyways, she denied their request. But they were rather persistent and grabbed her by force. Thankfully, Hanako wasn’t far behind and saved her and set the fish packing.
Tumblr media
Yashiro and Hanako’s relationship as a whole takes a turn for the better as Yashiro decides to stay by Hanako and he will eventually confide in Yashiro about his past.
This was a unique series. I mean, it was all over the place in where this story was going to go. But in terms of conclusions, not so much! I mean, Hanako’s brother is still spreading rumors around the school and unsuspecting students repeat it despite it being mostly false. We’re unsure of many things about those ghost brothers and the drama that went down when Tsukasa died. Hell, I’m not even sure the manga is that far ahead either. I loved the animation to this. Sure it looks like a Danganronpa clone, but again Studio Lerche animated it. But their direction of making this feel like a colorized manga at times was something I like to commend it for.
Each episode had a nice, quirky vibe to it whenever Hanako’s on the screen. So I say give it a try. It’s not a long series.
FUNimation has all 12 episodes available for streaming. Now that FUNimation is doing simuldubs again, Hanako-kun has a few more episodes available in English.

Hijiyama 85% part 2
Tumblr media
Oh! Inaba! And/or the command ship AI?
Tumblr media
Oh good, an actual name. XD Thank you.
Tumblr media
o-o
O^O
ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE HIM THE KEY?
Tumblr media
F-FINE. JUST HAND HIM A GUN. XDDDD Aaaaah, I wonder if this is the one he used in Miura’s ending.
And of course, BJ would know that Hijiyama knows how to use it.
Tumblr media
Aw, Hijiyama only knows pistols. XD;;;;
Tumblr media
Huh, interesting.
Tumblr media
Not quite 3d printing from sector 0, aha.
Tumblr media
NOOOOOOOO. QAQ
Huh, Hijiyama waits until they’re pretty close before shooting. Making sure he has the shot.
Tumblr media
;-; I was wondering if there was going to be blood, haha.
Tumblr media
Hijiyaaaamaaaaaaa.
Tumblr media
Okino just SIGHING knowing that Hijiyama had kept it, but never actually looked at it. q-q
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaah. Q-Q
... Either that, or Okino knowing Hijiyama so well they knew he wouldn’t read it. So it’s a ‘If you’re reading this, that means I’m no longer with you’ letter, and it details how to download all the memories they’d uploaded into Hijyama’s nanomachines/innerloccitor.
Tumblr media
Aaaaand shifted into a pod for the New World.
Tumblr media
Isolated, not grouped with the others? Hm. Oooor possibly something to do with what Professor Morimura did.
Tumblr media
Did the attack happen in the next hour? WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO GET IT? Or had you stashed it at the factory and had to get there?
Tumblr media
Yey. qwq
Tumblr media
Well, fair. XDDD
‘It’s where we first met’
Tumblr media
q-q
Tumblr media
Aaaaah, did Megumi not shoot him?
Tumblr media
YAAAAAAA, GO GET ‘EM. >8D
Tumblr media
AAAAAAAAAAAAH, GOTTA PROTECT THE EARTH FOR OKINO’S RETURNNNNNNN. HIS ENDING IS SO GOOOOOD.
NOW LET’S SEE OKINO’S AWAKENING.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaaaaah, that’s why he’s so adamant about protecting the world. ;w;
Tumblr media
FUUUUUUUUCK, YEAH!
Tumblr media
Yeeeeeeeey. Fine fine, ‘just’ the sentinel AI.
Tumblr media
Yeeeeeeey. QwQ
Tumblr media
Sharing sentinels YESS.
Tumblr media
nOOOOOOOOOOO.
But no worries, we’ll just build you a new body and dump your consciousnesses into it! That’ll go well, right? 8′))))
Tumblr media
Oh. Isolated, hm. Like catsuit Morimura? But she’s super ingrained into the system now.
Tumblr media
O^O Yeeeees?
Tumblr media
...Are they in the matrix? And/or is everyone mini-piloting the robots from a pod and then piloting the big mechas.
Ogata kept returning to his sentinel pod during his loop with Okino, so maybe their pod are their original holding places.
Tumblr media
Oh Hijiyama. XD
So are we still in one of Tomi’s simulations? That wouldn’t make sense for Professor Morimua to insert herself in though.
Tumblr media
Depends on what you mean by reality.
Tumblr media
Well yeah. Fifteen clones, who we still don’t know who the fifteenth is. Megumi’s dad is the only other person we’ve seen in 2188. Maybe his dna was collected outside, but never implemented into the system.
Tumblr media
Okay, matrix.
Tumblr media
Huh. Were they only automated from the outside, like sentinel 8?
Tumblr media
HEY, OKAY. YOU GET TO PUNCH THINGS.
Tumblr media
FFFFFFFFFFFINEEEEEE. XDDD
Tumblr media
Matrix matrix matrix, haha.
Tumblr media
Okay, but actually getting out and walking is going to be absolutely teeeerrible, because you have zero muscle tone. 8′)
...
Wow, we actually have a reason why they’re fucking naked. XDD
Tumblr media
Ahahahah, oops. Gotta beat the game for Universal Control to get you out.
