#alright snark and ship wars aside i get where you’re coming from tho #if you're genuinely interested in my thought process here i would love to elaborate #which is exactly what I’ll do!#first of all! the post you linked is about headcanons #which my brain kinda wants to put into a whole different category than ships — fandom ships in particular! — but i can leave that aside #because there IS an argument to be made that relationships are an extension of characterization and personality traits #if you wanna go that route i would wanna explain that Bloom's and/or Valtor's interest in the other is in fact based on canon #(even though I don’t really think ships need to be established in the source material. make shit up that’s what fandom is for #1) the Andros episode speaks for itself. Valtor specifically tells the Trix to back off because HE wants to be the one to fight bloom #2) the episode before that he asks questions about her (and only her; even though he has more powerful enemies to worry about)#demonstrating curiosity about and interest in her #3) that same episode (or the one before; can’t remember) is their infamous first meeting #where time LITERALLY slows down as the pass each other on the stairs #they get IMPACT FRAMES #the whole color palette changes!!!#idk about u but I eat that shit up. love the drama of it all no one does it like them #I’m gonna skip all the instances where Valtor is spying on Bloom through his little scrying spell because oh god who has the time #let’s go straight to Bloom #if I had a week I would not be able to collect all the moments where she growls his name in pure fury and single-minded determination #she gets a little bit obsessed with him over the course of the season and I personally think that’s very sexy of her #Bloom is known for her tunnel vision when it comes to her past and origins and Valtor's existence fits PERFECTLY into that #it ties in neatly with her overarching story of the past 2 seasons #literally PERFECT foils #which always makes for the juiciest stories #4) she singles him out for a duel in the museum episode #5) she can literally feel his presence #6) the mere mention of his name sends her into her weird faux enchantix #of course there’s no romance in canon but there’s TENSION AND CHEMISTRY which is all u really need for a ship #all their animosity and bad blood is what makes it so INTERESTING to wonder how they COULD work. it’s the spice that makes for good fanfic!

I know I’ve been talking about downsizing basically forever but things keep happening. But since taking in these emergency rats it has REALLY driven home that I *need* to be much further from my capacity limit.

I am not rehoming any of *my* animals, but I am doubling down on my efforts to increase my number of outside fosters so that there’s fewer fosters at my house, and will be keeping much fewer permanent animals going forward.

I am not planning to have any forever rats (except sanctuary rats) going forward, or forever mice. Once my current ones pass I will not be getting anymore. I have 9 gerbils through various circumstances but my limit is going to be 4. I have 3 hamsters & will be setting a limit of 1-2 going forward. I am planning to have no more than 6-7 permanent rodent enclosures (currently I have 14, so I will be halving my numbers essential, as they slowly pass of old age.

Before I ended up with these emergency rats I was doing just fine, not quite at my limit but getting close, and now I am over my limit and not sure when that’ll change. I’m managing, but since I never know when the next emergency will happen I need to maintain more open space and more bandwidth.

#it’s going to take me a WHILE to get down to these numbers- and they’re flexible #so like #i don’t anticipate having more than 1 hamster at a time after my current 3 #until i am down to fewer than 4 gerbil cages (goal is 2 gerbil cages)#which will take a while because gerbils live a lot longer and mine are all healthy and all but two are only middle aged #etc #the rats most of mine are older but I’ll have 3 of them for at least another year or two #and so on #but yeah.. this has been a wake up call for me that i’ve been playing too close to my limits and it’s not sustainable #i am managing right now- and i am NOT taking more intakes into my home for the foreseeable future- but i need to give myself wiggle room

one of my professors is really based… we were like ‘so is the final project still due friday’ and she was like ‘…in theory. the only reason i’ve put it down as being due so early is because we’re technically not allowed to make things due in the last week of class because we’re supposed to be encouraging you all to study for finals. but you see, i am well within my right to give extensions ;-)’ let’s go sisterrrrrr

#1. i have never heard of that rule 2. i have lots of stuff due finals week 3. i might straight up have something due next week anyway #4. i doubt the administration is really going to check professors’ syllabi #so i personally don’t see the need for her to worry about that but like #how funny that she’s so open about being willing to bend that rule #she’s like i really only need it by finals although you’d be better off getting it done earlier so you can get feedback #but also like depending on the type of project we do not all of us even have to take the written final #like i’m just gonna do a paper so i don’t think she’ll make me do another writing project #also she’s like ‘ok some of you turned in this one assignment (that she already was incredibly lax with the due date for)#but you didn’t really meet the actual criteria of the assignment or you failed to turn it in entirely #but you can still turn it in now if you want or you can just make up for it by doing a really good job in that area of your final project #and i’ll give you a grade on that assignment anyway bc it’s really supposed to be a part of the larger final project anyway’#like that is how chill and based she is with this #peach rambles #she’s a strict grader but like. it’s all totally fair criticism #she wants a demonstration of knowledge and good writing from us more than anything. more than being on time #so like i gotta lock in on this paper but it’s nice to know it’s going to someone fair who cares

September 2023

#1. started at refugee camp nr 7 (I think). was asked to do a hearing test first for one of the guys and I thought he was Arab bc one of the #supervisors spoke Arabic to him when I saw him but we found he’s actually also Afghan! which was quite funny. not so funny was the fact #that I had taken the machine with me but had left the charger somewhere else so I couldn’t actually do the test. so I had to drive to our #office and go back for the test. when I came back my client had actually prepared these things for me/us 🥺 which is very Afghan and sweet #of him. he said he was just really happy to see someone that’s also Afghan #2. this month I actually was really consistent with my journaling so I’m happy about that #3. we have a cat now and even though I was one of the people that was against it. I would kill for her #4. my parents and I picked fresh walnuts and actually got quite a lot #5 & 6. we have our annual company gathering / party and it was really fun! it was organised well. we had some good food a live band #& a dj (I requested 2 songs and they agreed but didn’t play either one……) and there was also a photo booth which is always a good time.#I def think I’ll also do a photo booth when I have my wedding #7. have started slowly decorating my hobonichi #monthly recap

mom was saying how she wasn’t good at getting gifts and was like “I don’t even know what to get you :(” and I was like. no mom. I’m the problem here.

#my ramblings #anyway I’m helping her fold dumplings for sister and dad to eat while she’s in cn to take care of grandpa #she has to. wrestle a lot with healthcare. not really looking good.#sister’s gonna order groceries so I don’t have to spread myself too thin but I’m still gonna help out of course #but anyway I think gift giving is a skill that can be trained #but part of gift giving as a skill is knowing how to give gifts to folks when you don’t necessarily know what they want #for a high school pal I don’t know the specifics of fandom or what she already has #so I gave her socks and was like: now that you are an adult you get adult gifts.#and she seemed to get a kick out of that #but in general it’s helpful to 1) keep in mind if someone wants something specific #2) keep in mind if there’s a type of theme they enjoy (e.g. space or fish or cats)#3) keep in mind if there’s a type of object they collect (like mugs or magnets or merch)#3.1) find a way to keep track of their collection and check on it (ask them if they’ve gotten anything new/are planning to)#4) gifts can still be food or experiences it doesn’t have to be limited to An Object They Keep #(one of the ‘gifts’ I was planning for mom was ‘let’s go to this scenic garden for an hour or two and I’ll take pics of you however long yo #want and I won’t complain at all)#(mom loves getting her photo taken and posting her outfits to wechat)

I’ve been replaying through the dark souls games (I finished one and am almost done with 2) and man. Casting dex builds are a lot easier for me than pure strength

#I’ve played through 1 and 3 and about 3/4 of 2 before #I bought them all in a bundle so I kinda played them out of order #I did 1 first and missed a lot of optional stuff (including the dlc which I got mad at and quit)#then I played 3 and did pretty much everything there was to do including getting most of the way through ng+#and then I olayed 2 last and kinda got burnt out right after the mirror knight and never beat the game or did the dlc #which is the main reason I wanted to replay Through the games #any way on all 3 I did a str build with just enough int to use the moonlight greatsword #and I though that’s what I was gonna do for elden ring but I ended up going for a dex int build and having way more fun with it #so now that’s what I’m doing for all 3 dark souls games #well sort of I went pretty hard into pyromancy as well as sorcery in my ds1 playthrough #then in 2 I’m doing a hex build specifically #and I’ll probably do dark sorcery/pyromancy again in 3 #any way I’ll probably write a longer post about dark souls once I finish all 3 games #dark souls
