The official Theodosia ranking of every season of Ninjago with a letter grade and a short thought. If someone askes about my longer thoughts on a season then I'll talk about it there.

Season 1, Rise of the Snakes: Good start great finale. B.

Season 2, Legacy of the Green Ninja: Get rid of the cheating arc I only like the Dark Island episode. C.

Season 3, Rebooted: Sensei Garmadon and also Zane had a very impactful moment that was surprisingly mature for the time and age rank. A.

Season 4, Tournament of Elements: Fortnite Battle Pass. Also Neuro. I think about this one the most. Would have liked to see Garmadon and Clouse actually fight. A.

Season 5, Possession: Overrated, it's just ok. C.

Season 6, Skybound: Big fan of how it wasted time and how it was very obvious that they weren't going to keep such extreme damage permanent. D.

Season 7, Hands of Time: Big fan of how I've forgotten what happened despite being the most interesting concept and having the time twins. C.

Season 8, Sons of Garmadon: Even without spoilers it was very obvious that Harumi was the villian. Love how they cranked the stakes up to 11 for this, what a cliffhanger it would have been AWESOME to experience the in-between in real time. B.

Season 9, Hunted: Another interesting concept held back by the writing choices. The First Realm isn't that interesting. C.

Season 10, March of the Oni: I think its well paced for only 5 episodes, I was actually disappointed that it was only 5. A.

Season 11, Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu: Ranking both the fire and ice chapters at once. C.

Season 12, Prime Empire: If you die in the game you die in real life. D.

Season 13, Master of the Mountain: Convinced to watch this by Tumblr comments and its pretty good but some parts were a little boring and could have been removed. Cole season tho hooray! B.

The Island: Lack of Misako try again. B.

Season 14, Seabound: Good God man give Nya a break. The build up to her merging with the sea was good, don't think people would have expected it while the episodes were coming out. B but a high one.

Season 15, Crystalized: Not overrated nor underrated, but a secret third option: mid. D

gen 1 —

fav: heather. i have so much to say about her but i’ll keep it brief, it’s obvious she has parental/family issues and she’s mean to compensate for the fact she’s insecure. so real, and she’s just rlly funny and well developed! heather haters wtf

least fav: cody. look.. ik i’ll get jumped but he’s just so BORING! out of many early boots of gen 1 the rest of them have fun personality traits or character development but he kinda just floats. like nothing rlly happened until world tour finale with him 😭

gen 2 —

fav: lightning! again with heather he has daddy issues and he’s mean but dumb.. but omfg he’s so funny. robbed in all stars and deserved his win, lightning haters NTFM 😭😭

least fav: sam. i was gonna pick staci cuz duh but where’s the fun if you pick the early boots? he was just not funny but his video game addiction gimmick was ok in the lindsay cameo episode

gen 3 —

fav: jasmine. not much has to be said.. i love her and she was robbed in final 4. only sane person on that island i fear, shasmine >>>>>! i hated her elimination but when she came back in the finale i was pleased

least fav: max like BOY IF YOU DONT STFU 😭 self explanatory

gen 4 (rr) —

fav: ice dancers, like ik they were evil and shit but where’s the fun if ur just gonna be a goody two shoes.. let’s be real they carried so hard but their elimination was satisfying ;) josee is me

least fav: stepbrothers, i’m sorry but i just didn’t get their gimmick at all and it was just painful to watch these two on screen. happy they got eliminated but i wasn’t like an avid hater

gen 5 (reboot) —

fav: julia. and ik she’s so hated but she’s literally girlboss gatekeep gaslight like wtff is ur issue with her. admittedly it was fun watching her get eliminated but i loved her arc, hope she gets far in season 2!

least fav: ripper. NEXT! (close second is chase, cuz wtf is ur real boy i’ll kill you)

this is my opinion and therefore counts for nothing. you can have a dfferent opinion to me and that is totally cool

from last to first:

Season 6: honestly i feel like i need to say very little. the assualt, tara, all of it. good idea in practice but didn't feel like a buffy season to me. also barely any giles and too much warren.

Season 5: i personally don't like glory, i think she's annoying. but i do love dawn and all the drama.

Season 1: this is here purely because it was finding its feet. i love this little baby season so much.

Season 7: i think season 7 was an amazing comeback and i think it is genuinely really funny. minus points for kicking buffy OUT OF HER OWN HOME

Season 4: riley finn ruins this whole season for me. so does adam and the initiative, and its hard to see all the amazing episodes tbh.

Season 2: i cannot describe my pure love for this season. angelus, dru, spike, so many banging episodes and so many classic buffy moments. kendra's 'only shirt'. love it.

Season 3: the mayor. faith. dopplegangland. band candy. mr trick. silly goofy stuff balanced with a great plot. it is the almighty.

do i have a season ranking now? i kinda feel like i have to rewatch all of it to do that because i kinda forgot the previous season stuff and cause i binged it's all kinda fuzzy but because buffy does the season big bads i think i can kinda remember

but still kinda ranking them: s3, s5 and s6 I liked the most. s5 was probably the best honestly- very well done in every aspect in my opinion and had the spike thing so yeah fun. s3 also i remember having amazing episodes. s6 now is just very different but i like it. it's depressing but brings very very interesting dynamics into play and there are some very well-done episodes. I wouldn't say i enjoy it but it is high up in my ranking.

s2, s4; i don't really remember that well. s1 was okay and s7 i don't know how to rate because i LOVE spuffy in this but i kinda hate the introduction of all these potential slayers who are v annoying mostly so s7 is somewhere in the middle

so it's not really a ranking then but yeah i wanted to record my messy tangled feelings for posterity (me).

*Disclaimer: This is the ranking I made while I was watching the show for the first time. It's very much possible that it might change with a rewatch. I finished a season, I tried to put it in the ranking. The main focus being how much I enjoyed the season comparing to my enjoyment the other seasons. It's not about how good I think the main arc of the season is or anything like that, it's simply about my personal overall enjoyment watching the season.

Ps: since I really didn't like s3 much while I was watching it, I made a note behind it that said: "(3×10 was really good though)"

Pps: I do like the first two seasons, but my enjoyment and therefore ranking is heavily influenced by loving Misha and Cas being my favourite character. So easy rule for the season ranking: you don't have Cas or Misha, you loose.

Can I talk about sugar for a second? Like all of the berzatto children are tragic and doomed by the narrative in their own right, but nat’s story means so such to me idk if I can even fully talk about it all. We see her relationship with her mom is strained at best, it seems like she’s the least favorite child, maybe BECAUSE of her existence as a woman.

And then we find out that her lifelong nickname is based off of a childhood mistake, her being overeager to help her family literally turned into a lifelong reminder of her fuck up. Is there anything more tragic?? A child wanting love but getting scorn?? And then it makes the flashback scene where she tries to add raisins in season 1 all the more upsetting because why did she add them?

“That’s how mom makes it.” she’s the only one that still follows their mom’s recipe. The reason? Could be anything. But I have no doubt in my mind if she DIDN’T add the raisins if Donna had been around she would’ve been ridiculed even more.

I have such a soft spot in my heart for girls and their complex relationships with their moms and motherhood, and it makes her scene with cicero in the car that much more impactful. When cicero says he would let his kids make more mistakes and not been as careful, i almost started crying. Nat has a nickname from her mistakes and it seems like in her mom’s eyes she’s nothing but mistakes. And then her uncle tells her that she’ll be a good mother and that it’s okay for kids to make mistakes, great, even.

I’m so happy nat is in a place where she’s happy and supported. She has a husband who deeply understands her family and doesn’t judge her for it, even making an effort to try and include Donna. I was kind of meh about pete before season 2, but it solidified for me that he’s so so good for nat and a great character. He is so excited to be a dad, he’s patient and kind with her and her family, and he doesn’t call her sugar.

She’s nat. And she’s allowed to make mistakes.

But, now I’m looking back and I’m like… why IS he gonna regret it. He’ll get public backlash sure, but eventually everyone’s gonna have to get over it. He’s a Sin. He’s the main sex toy manufacturer in Hell. I don’t think ppl are gonna care enough to boycott. They’re too desperate.

The only people that outrank him are the royal family. And like… in all actuality, who’s gonna get mad at him?

It shocked me to find out that people will completely skip season 1 in their ATLA rewatches. The season gets a little too much flak imo. Is it a little more childish than S2 and S3? Maybe! But so many important moments and setups are established in that season, and in terms of story and pacing, it’s one of the strongest seasons right next to S2 imo!
