TikToker raises $186,000 for woman, 81, to pay off her mortgage and finally retire. He saw her on break at Walmart and recorded her clearly having a bad day.

Devan Bonagura, 19, works for a third-party company that sells products to Walmart, and it’s at the retailer where he met 81-year-old Nola Carpenter.

4. Nano-robot antibodies that fight cancer enter first human drug trial

Scientists in Israel have created the first nano-robot antibodies designed to fight cancer. The first human trial for the new nano-robots will start soon, and it will determine just how effective the antibodies are. What is special about these particular antibodies, too, is that they are programmed to decide whether cells surrounding tumors are “bad” or “good.”

The trial is currently underway in Australia and if it goes according to plan, the nano-robot antibodies will be able to fight cells around tumors that can help the tumor while also boosting the capability of the cells inhibiting the growth of the cancerous cells.

surprising absolutely no one, second ask of the day!!

this isn't really a question tho, I just wanted to let you know that since I've read Speed Dating, it has been stuck in my mind 24/7.

I'm not kidding when I tell you that I think about it at least once a day (I'm sorry if I sound like a fanatic but I mean it in the best way possible).

it was/is such an easygoing three-shot, but yet it really left me the feeling of having watched a five seasons show! it's like you managed to perfectly compact a long rom-com series in just three chapters and 23k words! idk maybe I'm overreacting but I really want you to know how much of a great job you did, that fic bring me so much comfort I can't even explain it 😭😭

ALSO, I have a feeling there will be a CaroMille moment, and THAT will be the final wake-up call for Caroline. Probably Camille just getting dumped from Klaus and Care runs into her, telling her that she's sorry for them, and Camille would just shrug and be like "I had zero chance against you". So Caroline would look at quizzically because she's a girl's girl and she DOES NOT go after "taken" man, so she would ask Cami what she meant and Cami would look at her with arched eyebrows and say something like "don't tell me you haven't noticed he's in love with you?" AND THEN BAM. (yes, I know, it's creepy and weird that I thought this through a lot, but in my excuse, I had to do something during math class other than sleeping)

You and Jack rode back to the house in separate cars.

You went with Saweetie while he went with Urban.

Saweetie kept glancing your way seeing the sad expression on your face and her concern only grew for you resulting in her breaking her silence.

"Y/N...."

"Hmm?" You whispered while still looking out the window.

"I'm am in no way trying to tell you what to do, but he did look sorry for what he did. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but he was off the entire night."

"I'm just hurt. He knows how much I love him, so why would that thought ever cross his mind?"

"Maybe he got scared babe. You know that man worships the ground that you walk on and will do absolutely anything for you. He probably can't fathom the thought of losing you to someone else. I'm not saying make it easy for him, but..."

"I understand where you're coming from. I just feel that it’s going to take me awhile to move past this."

"And that's fair. Do you want to get your things and stay with me?"

"No, I told Brandi to book my flight so can you take me to the airport when I'm done?"

Saweetie sighed but nodded her head in agreement.

"I shouldn't be long." You confessed as you began to open the car door to let yourself out.

You opened the door and noticed how quiet it was so you assumed that your husband was already upstairs.

And you were dreading having to run into him.

Just as you expected, he was sitting on the bed with his head in his hands. He looked up when he heard your footsteps and immediately made a motion towards you, but you held up your hand.

"Baby girl, please. Just... let's sleep on this and we can talk about it tomorrow."

"No. I meant what I said. I'm packing and then catching my flight to New Orleans. Diamonte is downstairs waiting for me."

"But..."

"Look, you know how much I love and care for you and you know how much you mean to me. I just need a little time. I just can't wrap my mind around you believing I would risk losing our marriage."

"I'll give you all the time you need then. Just... let me know when you land so I know you're safe." Jack said while coming close to you and kissing your forehead.

"I will. I need to get my things together."

"I'll help you take them downstairs when you're ready."

"Thank you."

It didn’t take you long to pack, but now it was close to 2 am and you were both outside. Your bags were in Diamonte's car as you turned to look at your husband.

"I love you and be safe." Jack quietly said with his hands in his pockets.

"I love you too." You responded while placing your arms around his neck to bring him in for a hug which he quickly accepted.

He made sure to hug you extra tight.

You reached up to plant several kisses on his lips before finally pulling away.

This definitely hurt, but he was going to have to learn his lesson one way or another.

You cried during your entire flight to NOLA.

You were thankful that the rest of your team fell into a comfortable slumber so that they wouldn't have to hear your cries.

Once you landed, as promised you let Jack know that you were safe.

You- Stink, I just landed. Going to the hotel to sleep.

You didn't know how you were about to get through this second half of your festival run with trying to keep your emotions intact.

But, you didn't have a choice at this point.

As much as you wanted to be in your husband’s arms, he needed to think about what he did and how wrong he was. 

You had now been on the second wave of your festival run for three weeks and despite the distance, your husband was showing out and there wasn't a doubt in anyone's mind about how much that man cared for you.

Your favorite flowers in your dressing room as well as hotel room before every show.

The multiple edible arrangements with your favorite fruits and chocolate.

And the fact that he has now sent you at least six new outfits and six pairs of shoes to go with them.

I mean the two of you were talking.

Barely, but at this point, Jack would take what he could get.

At least you weren't ignoring him completely.

Stink- So proud of you smush. Go out there and kill it like the bad ass you are. I love you ❤️

After your show, you were laying down looking at your phone contemplating on whether you wanted to Facetime your husband or not.

That’s what the both of you would do after every show. You made sure to Facetime each other and make sure everything was okay.

Well that routine had been broken for the last three weeks considering the circumstances.

As promised, Jack had given you your space. He made sure to send a good morning text as well as checking on you throughout the day before sending a good night text. At this point, you were responding to him and he didn’t want to press his luck.

Shit, he was just happy that you were reading them. 

You had only a week left before you would be back in Kentucky for The Homies kickball game. You were still on the fence about going, but your best friends are involved so you figured that you going was a no brainer.

You figured that it would probably be a good thing to be on good terms with your husband before making another public appearance.

The phone didn't even ring once completely before he answered.

"Hi baby girl."

"Hi smush."

"Everything okay? It’s good to hear your voice."

You nodded your head briefly while trying to hold back your tears. Jack could immediately tell that something was wrong with his wife as it never took much. He could simply glance over at you and could tell what kind of mood you were in. You couldn't help but let a few tears slip out.

"Baby, you're crying and I feel that it’s because of me. I can't tell you how sorry I am for doing what I did."

"I just miss you." You said between sniffles and grabbing a tissue off the nightstand to wipe your face.

"I miss you too mamas. And I promise that nothing like that will ever happen again."

"I know."

"Fuck. I hate that you're crying because of me. That should never happen." Jack replied as he ran a hand through his hair.

"All we can do is move on. We can't change what has already been done."

"You're right. But, still. I don’t like seeing my wife crying."

"You've beat yourself up enough about this and wifey is demanding for you to stop." You respond while tossing the tissue to the side. 

"Easier said than done. I just knew you were about to leave my ass."

"Dramatic much?" You replied while letting out a small laugh.

"I'm serious mamas! Why you laughing?"

"There is no way in the world you would be able to get rid of me that easily. We're in this together forever. Even if you are a dumbass sometimes. You're my dumbass."

"I think there was supposed to be a compliment hidden in there somewhere."

"Just please Jackman from now on if you have a question just ask me. I'm always going to be honest with you. Promise me?"

"I promise, baby."

"I'll see you in a week then?"

"Can't wait to see you."

It was now the day of the kickball game and there was nothing but clear blue skies.

You were happy and excited to see Jack and you knew he was excited to see you too.

Despite what had happened, you already knew that marriage wasn't always sunshine and rainbows. There were going to be bumps in the road.

However, you wouldn't want to be doing life with anyone else other than Jack.

You admit, he acted like a true dumbass and you immediately leaving after everything happened allowed for him to truly reflect on his actions and how much he had hurt you.

The worst thing for him is seeing you cry.

It was even worse this time since he was the cause behind the tears.

You knew he was going to be beating himself up a long time after this despite you telling him to move on and to let it go.

One thing about Jack is that he doesn't take knowing that he hurt his wife lightly.

He felt as though he was supposed to protect you and make sure no harm came your way.

Now that the harm that came your way had to do with him, he felt some type of way.

Despite what you told him, he was going to continue to make this up to you in any way that he could.

With Brandi and Julissa along with you. the three of you made your way down to the field in order to be on the sidelines.

Neelam immediately spotted you and made her way over bringing you into a hug.

“You made it! Because I was starting to get nervous.”

“You know I promised them I would be here and I wasn’t going to go back on my word despite the circumstances. Has he been okay?” You asked as there were still concerns in the back of your mind.

“Not until he had gotten that Facetime call from you. Since then he’s been better.”

All you did was nod your head slightly as you were now being pulled into a hug by Taylor.

“Hi mamas! So good to see you!”

“Good to see you too. I’ve missed hanging out with you.”

“Well how long are you staying? We can get into something a little later or even tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow sounds good. Brunch at our favorite spot? 11 AM?”

“I’ll be there.”

You gave Taylor another hug before making your way to your husband who seemed to not have noticed your presence until Urban tapped him on the shoulder.

He turned around and had nothing but a smile on his face.

You both quickly embraced each other with him squeezing you for dear life.

“I missed you mamas and I’m still so so sorry.”

“I missed you too and will you shut up? It’s in the past, we dealt with it, it’s over.”

“You know how I am and how it’s going to bother me.”

“Yes, baby I know but we’re good, okay? If I say we’re good then we’re good.”

“Okay, but just to let you know, you have a lot more gifts waiting for you at home too.”

“Jackman, what else did you buy?”

“Ehh, you were complaining how you wanted a few more pairs of red bottoms and I got you a few more New Balance hoodies, and there might be another necklace thrown in there somewhere. And that Birkin that was on backorder? I pulled some strings and now it’s in our closet.”

“Okay, you’re done until my birthday because that is crazy.”

“But your birthday is four months away. Do you know how many cities I’m going to visit while doing festivals? Do you honestly think I’ll be able to wait until then?”

“Look, I’m not going to fight you on that front, but relax.”

“Well, I can buy it and just wait to give it to you?”

“As you wish, but just remember the material things are not important to me. Having you as my best friend and husband is.”

“Aww babe..” Jack then leaned down to kiss you and you couldn’t help but smile.

“Hey! Stop that! There are children out here!” Urban suddenly yelled and the both of you rolled your eyes.

“Shut up, Urb.”

“Hmm, even after almost ten years I can still make you blush. You are red as a tomato right now, Jackman.”

“Come on stink, cut it out.”

“I will never, but I’ll give you a good luck kiss to help you win.”

“I’m definitely not about to skip out on that.”

Yay! I’m home!

Nola was wonderful! I highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been before— the people are so sweet, the city is vibrant and colorful, and the food is 💯!

I got in super late last night/early this am, so there will be an update today, but it will be later than usual, as I am in desperate need of a nap. Once I get the update posted, I’ll be going back through the tag list requests and updating that and all the links; you know, the things I wasn’t able to do while I was gone. Then, back to writing!

Mass’s cat, Mayflower (who is 100% a black cat with golden eyes) seems to only really like Loui. She hisses at literally everybody else, even Mass himself, but the moment that Loui enters a room, she cuddles up to him and basically does all the happy kitty stuff :]

Hurt one, you hurt the other. Which can be very bad for your mental and physical health. Just sayin.

These two pull off the BEST spooky pranks and for some reason Alaska seems to be their favorite state to scare.

Mass 100% knows how to do dreads and braids because he’s helped Loui multiple times. (Also I’m not gonna say that he uses this knowledge to help Mary with her/his/their hair, but 👁️👁️-)

Mass has been dealing with the spirits for FOREVER, and is pretty used to them by now. Whereas Loui somehow isn’t used to them, so Mass helps him on the REALLY bad nights.

Loui apologizes for literally EVERYTHING, and Mass just refuses to apologize for sh*t. So cue Mass telling Loui to stop apologizing for stuff so much and Loui telling Mass to start apologizing more.

At this point, keeping an arm out around Loui is second nature for Mass. Cuz Loui is clumsy as hell and doesn’t sleep, meaning he will just drop unconscious out of nowhere.

Related (not really-) to the one about Mass’s cat, Mass is the only person that Loui’s Maine Coon, River, hasn’t growled or hissed at yet (besides Loui, cuz River loves that boy with her whole heart).

Loui communicates through weird-sounding chirps sometimes and Mass just thinks that it’s really cute and reminds him of NY.

Seemingly, Loui walking around with Mass is like having "scary dog privileges", even though the only actual threat there is Loui. But ain’t nobody gotta know that 🤫.

Can I just say, it's so lovely to get all these questions! ✨ I love this so much, thank you! 💝

First: I'm ok! Work is always stressful these days, I don't think it's going to give me a break until at least September. 😂 But it's not the worst right now. Tomorrow is my birthday and I just the best piece of chocolate cake humanity has to offer, so I'm cool right now. 😇 Just wish tomorrow wasn't Monday. 🥲

Second: I have read 7 books this year so far, but nothing that's stood out as being great, sadly. :( Still haven't had a 5 stars. I finished a thriller called None of This is True by Lisa Jewell which was pretty good, if you're into thrillers. 4 stars, maybe.

In terms of fanfiction, I've have been reading random pieces of non-Kc fic, as per usual 😂 But I have also read The Little Wolf by @morningstargirl666, which is absolutely fantastic, if you haven't read it yet. It's a retelling of the show's canon about the Original family and how they were turned into vampires, with special focus on Klaus' werewolf heritage, and it's so, so, so good! And so much better than canon! It actually gives depth to the siblings' relationships, and it has so many little nods to what we know of them in the future. Beautifully woven! I have also read Till I Tasted You by @kirythestitchwitch, which is a canon divergent AU where a spell goes wrong and Caroline ends up finding out Klaus is her soulmate. It's hot, it has absolutely nom-nom-able dialogues and A+++ interactions between KC, it features Damon getting his ass kicked! I don't know, it's just the whole package. 🤌

Third: This would be a very weird question if I hadn't spent an irrational amount of time thinking about that. 😂 I guess it really depends on what kind of universe you mean, because it varies. But I would very much like to have telekinesis like Prue in Charmed.

Fourth: That's a tough one. I'm an extremely critical person of my own writing, so it's hard for me to feel proud of stuff I've done tbh. 😂 But I think I was pretty proud when I finished The Wolf 2. It's not my personal favorite thing I've ever written, but I think it's probably my best written story. I really like the final part of that story, the way I managed to tie it back to TVD, I think it was very full circle and made the story a lot more unique. I also had a lot of fun writing the Mikaelsons and Caroline back in Mystic Falls after the time they spent in Nola. 😂 So maybe that.

Final: It's... going. 🥲 I took a pause after writing two chapters back to back, tried to work on some other stuff, and then I circled back to it. I've actually just started the next chapter, have a couple of scenes. I don't think this first chapter will be a long one, but I think it will take a lot of editing tbh. 😂 I haven't been at most inspired right now, so not sure how much of what I've written will stand the test of a re-read. I had plans to get a chapter out before the end of the month, but I'm not sure I'll manage it. 🥲 We'll see how this week goes. Pray for me.

This is so fucking good! The way you’re peeling back Armand’s layers and making him come face to face with his religious trauma as well as his entire existence via the sheer power of horniness is amazing. He called Daniel his teacher in the 20th century and he was, but beyond that he played such an instrumental role in Armand’s journey of self-discovery, and all of those parts of him he thought he’d lost long ago. To quote Kendall Roy, he’s about to embark on one of the all time great psychosexual expeditions and he really shouldn’t be fighting it 🥰

This Armand was very reminiscent of horny asf Blood Sanation!Armand where he was aching for Daniel to ravish him in the back of a random alley in NOLA imo, and it takes me back to one of our previous chats about Daniel being one of the very few living creatures who’s gotten to know and experience the closest thing to Amadeo that still lives inside Armand.

Also, your take on Daniel being “cold, resentful” during the threesome was spot on. By that point, that man was past any semblance of interest in having sex with anyone but Armand, the only thing that managed to arouse him/make him come was the “dual purpose” of the encounters, the fact that he could either imagine himself doing it to Armand or the other way around, and that came across so well here! He really said “fuck them threesomes I want my baby” 🥹

And last but not least, this whole paragraph is perfection: “But you’d ached for your master, hadn’t you? You spent days in brothels, surrounded by life, and every waking moment you craved death instead. Nothing had ever compared to the monster in your bed. Nothing will ever compare for Daniel, you’re lying to yourself just like you lie to him”, screaming I’m obsessed!!!!

But YES, exactly! Armand has to face these things from his past or he'll never move on, and if it takes being desperately vampire horny for Daniel to make him do it- so be it. He can't sit in his pit of repression forever. When he suffers he makes everyone around him suffer with him and he has to decide here if that's worth it.

And yes!! Daniel is the only being besides Marius, Bianca, and Riccardo to really experience Amadeo. It's a second-hand experience that comes in bits and flashes but in many ways that's Armand's true self, and it's only through Daniel that it's started to come through again. His mortality brings out the mortal in him.

Also, your take on Daniel being “cold, resentful” during the threesome was spot on. <- thank you!! That's such a contentious quote from the book and people have so many readings on it, but in my heart it's always been that 1) daniel doesn't want anyone but armand at this point so he's over it and 2) he's so disconnected from mortality that he wants to be turned and be like armand. He didn't resent the sex, just the barrier the third person put between the two of them.

And ahh, that paragraph you quoted! It's so funny because he's so wrapped up in his feelings that he doesn't truly acknowledge that Daniel is feeling exactly as he did! Aching for death and the monster in his bed. They're two sides of the same horny coin and I love them.

Following your ideas on Naveen’s parents and how they raised him and his brother, do you think Naveen is resentful of how he was raised vs his brother? Even if he didn’t express it out loud, do you think Eudora or Tiana caught on to it?

(I was reading your fic and the scene of Eudora teaching Naveen to shave cause he’s so lost got me thinking of how that would be a recurring situation.)

This is such a good question! I think that Naveen would do his best to make sure that his brother doesn't follow his path. Making sure his parents understand, maybe conversations with the tutors/governesses/servants as well. But definitely spending more time with him and making sure that Tiana also can rub off on him.

I don't remember if I put this in the fic or not, but I like the idea of Naveen's brother spending summers in NOLA where he can just be a normal kid, but also learn what Tiana and a 'reformed' Naveen can teach him.

So I don't know if resentful is the right word - I think it might be more wistful. He's glad that things are better for his family, and wishes he could have done better for himself when he was younger. However, when he really examines what that would take for him to have changed, he isn't sure that it would have. He knows how he thought and felt at the time, and maybe any pushes in that direction would have caused him to rebel further.

Then too, he would realize that if he had been more responsible, he never would have come to NOLA and never would have met Tiana and he doesn't like to think of that ever.

As for Tiana and Eudora, I think they know. They also see how he's grown, and continues to grow, and are proud of him, and mention it to him as often as they can (without inflating his ego too much lol)
