#i'm just fed up ykwim

I honestly love writing and writing for other people, but after doing it for years and seeing just how rude people can be is really making me reconsider releasing my writing for other people.

I love fanfiction. I've been writing it for almost 10 years. Started when I was 12, I'm 21 and turning 22 in February. I've blossomed. Fanfiction, both reading and writing it, has helped me grow as an author.

So obviously I'm going to want to share it with people. But...my god, it's become a horrible experience every time I've tried.

First, the entitlement that I see from readers. Sometimes, even from fellow writers. I don't know what's worse; when a reader is being an entitled douche, or a fellow writer.

Stop clogging my inbox with "UPDATE!! UPDATE!!" or things along the lines of begging me to update. I have a life. I have animals to tend to, I have money to make, I have mental health to keep in line. I'll update when I get to it. And if I don't? Apologies. But don't make it worse by making me panic.

I was nice enough to release free shit for you. Show me respect.

Also, stop telling authors what to write. Stop dictating what they should be writing. They don't have to write for a specific audience if they don't want to.

I wrote for DBD at one point and stopped because one asshole spammed me saying "write for Adam!! Horrible author, won't write for Adam".

I was going to in the future, I only started writing a few of the characters so I could work my way up. But I gave up.

Go find a writer that suits your tastes instead of insulting and demanding a random ass author to do it for you. Or, better yet? Do it yourself. We cannot read your mind, we have no idea what you want.

Wattpad is one of the worst sites for this. As a writer? Fuck Wattpad. Some of its users are so immature and entitled, it's insane.

I also cannot stand how people treat authors/writers like we're just these emotionless writing machines. I've specifically stated I am not taking requests right now, it's on my profile, so why are y'all sending me requests after I've stated they make me anxious and make me feel pressured? I left my ask box open for questions, that's it. I'm urged to now close it.

Authors/fanfiction writers are writing stuff for YOU for free. I am more than happy to write. I write for fandoms I'm not too involved in. I educate myself about said fandoms and characters in those fandoms so I can write them the best I can. I do it for YOU. Stop treating me like I'm not a human behind the screen with a life.

Also the lack of manners drives me fucking INSANE. Say please and thank you. Show some appreciation instead of "write this 4 me kthanx". It feels horrible, and like I said above, I am not some emotionless AI that writes for you. I have feelings. I spend an hour at the least out of my day writing for YOU when I could be writing for myself, drawing, watching my favourite TV shows...whatever.

Like...in general, be nice. Be kind. You wanna request? Add a please and thank you. Don't pressure authors. Also, don't make authors feel like they're responsible for your moods. I've been guilt tripped with "write this bc I feel sad and if you won't, I'll be more sad and it'll be your fault :((" and it makes me feel horrible.

I gave up writing for people in the past because I am let down every. single. time. It's 2023, fanfiction has existed for a VERY long time, the fact that being kind, patient and understanding isn't common knowledge is mind boggling.

Also? Get to know me a little bit, ffs. I have emotions. I have interests. Don't use me for just my work. It feels awful when I post something rambling about an interest or asking a QUESTION and I end up being ignored. It's fucking horrible.

Hello hello and welcome everyone... AGAIN TO MY HYPER FIXATION.

We are introduced to SMG4 NEWS.

Now you may be wondering, why is SMG3 part of this? Why is he right beside SMG4 while they're currently broadcasting this live? Well I tell you two reasons.

no. 1 he wanted to help and no. 2 he just wanted to advertise his cafe.

Thats why you notice in several clips of the video, he tries his best to insert his advertisement to go to his cafe shop.

If SMG3 was careful enough, he'd be listening to SMG4 since he kept telling SMG3 not to advertise.

Over with SMG3's bugging and ruining SMG4's set with the weather, SMG4 ties SMG3 around the chair so that he wouldn't be a bother to interrupt the broadcast.

Thats why SMG4 turned his back to check up on SMG3, because he knows three is so desperate to pull up that advertisement. He didn't allow three to make that advertisement because they were only both there to "REPORT" live on 'News'

Since Three couldn't advertise, he may had switched on to another topic. "Is SMG4 really funny?" Since he is already fed up with all of the meme contents SMG4 make, he still thought if it'd be cringe.

But since SMG4 didn't want his content creations to get abandoned by his own fans just by SMG3 "TRYING" to change everyone's minds and opinions to 'stop' watching SMG4 just because the FUNNY wouldn't be there.

With SMG3 right beside SMG4, he'd been a little bit upset about this. "Atleast he's capable of making jokes" SMG4 looks at SMG3.

With that reminds him, why is SMG3 here? Oh right- he WAS supposed to help SMG4 report this on live. Where he reminded that SMG3 is supposed to be helping, which maybe had brought up his vision that-

"why am I being an ass? I was suppose to advertise, and SMG4 is here already. So why does it matter? I should've been helping him not steal the broadcast again."

So he said "fine" so he finally got able to report something, which is already counted as BORING to him. When SMG3 thought it was unfair since SMG4 gets all the bad news, SMG3 WANTS those kind of things to spill.

(I may had thought when SMG3 said "I want those" SMG4 quickly said "Okay-" to where he struggles to find a right file for SMG3 to report it out on live.)

It's like a kind of- well- a wife being spoiled and rich, while the husband gives everything to his wife because she kept out yelling for "wants" since the husband wants to do and follow what the wife does in order not to get constantly yelled at again.

And that is technically what SMG4 is doing for SMG3's sake rn.

But since SMG3 wants to add up a spice from all the boring sh-t, he decides to pull out his aka "pain and suffering method" to where it leads to him spreading misinformation that pulls out a fake news.

(I just love how SMG3 teased SMG4 with the word "Opposite day" XDD)

Ahemm- this month is absolutely interesting- (despite my posts of "Indigo Secret"'s pages are not here yet from mind block, but since Valentines day is near- I'll be advertising...)

A Continuation Idea

I got some of my motivation back from this post, where some of you actually commented on it :) So let's begin! (Thank you for commenting, btw!)

So we know how I said that Reader would make a tutor program after being fed up with everyone just pressuring them to choose their nation to teach and all that? Yeah, well...

What if Reader's friends/colleagues get zapped into their Genshin world and after Reader basically bailing them out b4 any hunt begins for them, Reader begs them to help with the tutor program. I hope they said yes, because BOI- READER NEEDS THAT HELP-

And from a little tutoring program run by "Their Holiness and Their Friends" it becomes a freaking academy- and now Reader has to hire one of their friends/colleagues to be the principal bc they don't want to be the principal ykwim? Let's hope one of their friends/colleagues is already a principal, because that would mean more time would be wasted to nominate one of them and they all know how busy they are now-

I'm very curious: what would you teach them if you were reader? ik some of y'all commented in this post about what you would teach them, so what would you? :) I'd probably teach them creative writing or smth and just accidentally show them one of my crappy unfinished series lol-

Then again, teaching them how to NOT hunt down EVERYONE THAT LOOKS LIKE THE READER would be amazing. They need that class ngl.

i wish the fast reblog bubbles were consistent >.> like... I Know i shouldn't develop a muscle memory for them but i DO and i end up putting stuff on the wrong blog p often bc they get shuffled around.

what if instead of floating random bubbles it just had like a popup list u could slide ur finger to - and depending on how many side-blogs u had u could scroll down to share to one of the other ones too by letting go over it.

on that note too just like, having zero control over which specific blogs do(n't) appear in the fast rb bubbles.. i feel like there r actually GOOD useful updates that could be pursued over having a snooze button for live no one asked for and pushing the TumblrTV UI to be applied to all images and videos on the regular dash (that again, no one asked for).

they could also have a much better feature testing/reception workflow than how they currently do things, like maybe ppl who have tumblr labs enabled can do beta testing and give feedback instead of pushing features onto a much larger scale of people and rolling it back, maybe, because of all the backlash over it.

idk. I'm just thinking about the direction of things and how it's been going on here 😐 like The Good Thing about tumblr is its community and wherever we are in the long run we'll make it work, but these days I think A LOT about the thermocline of trust thread and wonder:

how much longer until tumblr hits it bc tbh i can tell the user base is becoming more n more fed up over each change and

what that next platform we're gonna move to will be.

I know tumblr is kind of an anomaly for even lasting as long as it has but i think that's all the more reason to be aware of how fickle things probably are ykwim? i almost wish they WOULD pass that threshold out of spite but also 😬 i love hanging w y'all on here and what we share together so idk. these are just fleeting thoughts.

ok i’ll tell u right off the bat i thought it was a flop and the more i think about it, the more i hate it!! i should’ve expected this bc most of my problems with these buzzy contemporary fictions lie in how they feel like they were written with a twitter audience in mind, ykwim? & seeing as melissa broder’s first release ‘so sad today’ (haven’t read) started from her sadgirl prose twitter account under the same name (1 million followers & counting), she’s clearly well-immersed in that corner of the internet and therefore very in on what’ll trend/shock/etc, which is not to say people who are OnlineTM can’t come from a genuine place or that there’s something Bad about being informed by online trends—which are inescapable at this point—but i personally feel unmoved/bored when it’s This transparent in the writing style, yk? like i might as well just follow your twitter at this point but ANYWAY 

this article about ‘the millennial/unlikeable woman’ in pop culture sums up my main problems about these kinds of lauded #Feminist works way more eloquently than i could, but there’s a specific phrase “glossy, politically toothless world of high literary society” that i feel this book falls under with how it touches on all these controversial subjects without fully developing any of them. like a revolving door of mommy issues, eating disorders gratuitous sexual fantasies, religion, and even dances around the IDF / israeli occupation of palestine and you’re like ‘WOW this book is GOING THERE!!’ but actually no it’s not bc none of the above are fully committed-to or realized by the end (which was so rushed / unearned btw) so it feels hollow and more like a ‘look what i can do!’ moment rather than anything substantial or subversive

another issue i had was miriam’s characterization, but it’s like What characterization dfkasd bc miriam was hardly a character but instead a projection of rachel’s fear and lust, her body weaponized as a grotesque consequence to rachel’s binging, but also idealized as this dreamy utopia of what she can’t have/be and soooo sexualized to the point where i was like... am i reading fucking bukoswki or what!! manic pixie dream girl, but rated R!! and i Get that this is meant to reflect rachel’s own dysmorphia (all the golem allusions and whatnot) but after reading interviews with broder and seeing that rachel is Very much tangled up with herself, i can’t help but feel like 🤨 what are u Really trying to say 🤨 but actually u don’t even have to dig deep to find the connection with her views bc half the interviews i read included this excerpt from so sad today:

“I really love a zaftig female body. The women I am most sexually attracted to are considered obese by today’s (and yesterday’s) standards. I don’t watch a lot of porn, but a typical search term for me is “fat lesbians.” That is a beautiful fantasy. To be accepted and embraced and adored as your biggest self, the most you. That, to me, is freedom. The ultimate letting go. It’s sexy as fuck. It really turns me on.”

like?! idk she’s mentioned her past eating disorder in interviews so i have no place judging how she deals with body image in present day, but when it bleeds into her fiction in the way of a fat character being endlessly objectified as this symbol of sexuality and indulging and “letting go” of all structure and care, it’s leaves a bad taste in my mouth. like, is it empowering to be fetishized/put on this pedestal u never asked to be on? to have these gratuitous sexual fantasies written about your stomach rolls and your tongue being compared to fat liver or your nipples compared to clits and generally just the most garish metaphors ever UGH which brings me to the ‘erotic’ aspect 🥴 for a book so acclaimed for its eroticism, the sex scenes and descriptors were sooo embarrassingly unsexy to me like when she describes the vagina smelling like a basement, the hand-holding thing where her fingers were supposed to be a dick, “frankencock”... just uncomfortable to read like trying to be grotesque and bizarre but missing the marks entirely BUT ANYWAY!! 

all this to say i didn’t like it but can understand how/why people would like it or find it cathartic But also will likely not be reading her other books <3
