Quote 1: "When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" - Cave Johnson, Portal 2
Quote 2: "And the universe said you are not separate from every other thing and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code and the universe said I love you because you are love." - Minecraft End Credits, Minecraft
Propaganda
Quote 1: You should vote for this quote because of course it's funny, but also because it is a great callback to earlier in the game when Cave Johnson says “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” referring to continuing to use moon rocks for portals, despite them making him “deathly ill”. This quote also provides a lot of characterization for Cave, showing how he is slightly insane and has a very big ego, big enough to think that he has the capability to somehow burn down life's house. - @knight-of-hallownest, he really wants this quote to win
Quote 2: Every 2000’s kids knows this quote. It’s iconic! - Submitter

Posted this on AO3 but I'll post it here too, why not.
"Proud of you kid" (It's All I Want To Hear)
Tw for: Death, Car Crash, it's entirely Logan Sargeant centric too
Little disclaimer: I do not wish anything to happen to anyone. This is inspired on Romain Grosjean's 2020 crash because he survived it and still does motorsports. It is a more worse-case-scenario that I would not hope on any driver ^^
“Proud of you kid.”
Those were the only words Logan had truly wanted to hear spoken to him. Vowles said he was thankful, Albon said he was glad to have him as a teammate, Button said he knew Logan would pull through, but nobody said they were proud. Logan wanted to make them proud.
Monaco is a circuit where a mistake will haunt you for the rest of time. A tap of the wall sends your car into an opposing wall, a spin of the tyres sends you further down the grid, a bad stop takes you out of the race.
Logan wanted to make them proud, so he pushed harder than he probably should've in quali, getting into Q2. He did the exact same thing in Q2, just barely getting a better lap time than Hulkenberg to slip into the Q3 shootout. However, he didn't get past P10, nearly careening into the barriers if he wasn't able to catch himself.
Monaco rewards the few and punished the masses. If the driver ahead messes up, everyone behind gets messed up. If a gap is formed, there's no hope of catching back up. You stay in DRS no matter what, you fall back, you're done. You don't fight being lapped, you can cause too much damage.
Logan knew all of this, he wrote it down repeatedly so he wouldn't forget. Once those lights went out, Logan would have to get a good start, stay behind Stroll ahead, and never, never let anyone by. He'd have to hope his pit team was on it, yet he couldn't be promised anything. Logan knew everything he could, all he could do was remember now.
Monaco’s start was one of the more chaotic starts of any race. A tight first turn, a thin street track keeping walls close, a large chance to lose everything in the hairpin, daring overtakes at swimming pool, everything could cause your qualifying experience to be wasted.
Logan had a better start than anticipated, overtaking Mercedes of Russell who had a much slower start. Still, Logan tucked himself behind Stroll, the Aston Martin would have to be his saving grace. Williams was nowhere near as good as Aston Martin but if Logan stayed in the slipstream, attempted to show Stroll that he didn't wish to fight, maybe Stroll would be generous enough to keep Logan for the race.
Any mistake in Monaco shows weakness. A weak start, a bad tyre losing grip, a throttle happy moment out of a corner, all of it can allow your enemies to attack. You need to defend but stay close to the cars in front, you can't defend too hard that your tow pulls away without you, leaving you vulnerable to attacks from the enemies.
Logan stayed close to Stroll, capitalizing on the well off car in the iconic British Racing Green. He forced a mistake out of Hulkenberg behind, forcing the DRS train behind to fall back and out of Logan’s DRS. Stroll remained in the DRS train ahead, training off Alonso, Hamilton, Piastri, Norris, and Sainz. The Red Bulls had already taken off as they always did, they couldn't be a hope of an overtake. Yet, Logan remained in the battle for P3, probably the highest he has ever battled for. Logan knew he couldn't risk anything, he wasn't fighting for that P3. He was fighting for the P9 he was in or if possible, whatever position the drivers ahead would drop for Logan to pick up.
Pit stops, strategy, and weather, critical for Monaco. Mess up the pit stop, you fall down the order. Mess up the strategy, your race was over before it started and you never knew it. Fail to predict the weather so accurately that you know at the exact second the first drop of rain will fall, you will never forgive yourself. Alonso and Aston Martin learned that last year when Alonso lost out on the win by not pitting onto intermediates.
Logan was given the instruction, don't follow Stroll into the pits when he chooses too. Logan was on hard tyres, matching Hamilton and Sainz ahead. The Aston Martins and McLarens were on medium tyres, they would have to pit earlier. When the medium tyres pit, Logan would have to hope he could be in the DRS of the Mercedes and Ferrari ahead.
Never disobey team orders, no matter what. Ask Mercedes or Red Bull about their past regarding team orders, they'll tell you how horrible it'll turn out if one driver decides he's too good for team orders. Never be too cocky, no matter what. Ask Mika Häkkinen about what happens when a driver is too cocky, he'll tell you you'd end up in the wall. Never trust the driver ahead, no matter what. Ask George Russell about Singapore 2023 or Australia 2024 when you put trust into the driver ahead that they'll maintain the same racing line and braking points ahead.
Logan did exactly as he was told, he was not the strategists, the strategists were the strategists. The strategists spent their careers making these strategies. Vowles made strategies in the past, Logan could trust him.
In Monaco, you put your faith in your engineers and all you can tell them is your tyre degradation. In Monaco, you pray you'll be okay.
Logan stayed tucked behind Hamilton, running P6 strangely enough for him in his Williams. Then, the red flag began to wave. A pileup at the hairpin would cause it, too much debris from too many cars.
Restarts could be deadly. Anyone can be running well and then they fall down the order too quickly because they couldn't get a good start off the lights. A safety car, a virtual safety car, a red flag, any restart can fuck you up. Ask any driver really what happens when a restart doesn't favor them, when they get swamped at the line.
Logan kept his eyes on the lights ahead, waiting for the 5 illuminated lights to go out. He had a chance to jump positions or keep his position, yet underlying was the chance to drop positions, to crash, to never race at Monaco again.
Monaco rewards you not based on how hard you try or how hard you pray, but on biases nobody can figure out. Leclerc barely finished P9, a horrible race in terms of his teammate who managed P2; a horrible race in the consideration it was his home race. Logan, however, finished a wonderful P7, behind the McLarens, a RedBull, the Aston Martins, and the one Ferrari, Hamilton sitting behind at P8 and Russell P10. Logan was able to capitalize on Perez retiring to gain himself a few points, a feat that wouldn't go unnoticed.
Yet nobody would say they were proud of him still. Logan hadn't made anyone proud.
Logan tries again in Abu Dhabi, last race of the season. It won't be Logan’s last race, he just signed a contract with Williams again while Albon moves to Mercedes to replace the outgoing Hamilton. Logan doesn't know who his new teammate is but for once, he'll be the first driver hopefully. Perez retiring means Sainz has a seat, Logan at least won't have the Ferrari driver as his teammate as was heavily speculated. Except, Logan knows why he's been kept. Williams wants one driver to know the team and teach the new guy before they leave. Latifi saw both Russell and Albon because you can't start entirely from scratch.
Abu Dhabi doesn't punish as hard as Monaco, but the heat gets to you.
Logan hadn't been feeling well since Qatar the race before, but he wasn't going to just step out of the race because of it. He needed to prove his worth again, show his wings off in hopes other teams will pluck at his feathers to keep a piece of him and then take his featherless skeleton to keep.
One of Abu Dhabi’s most notable features is the long straight it has and the tight turn out of it. You need a good exit if you overtake someone here, you cannot let them get back past.
Logan overtakes Gasly after a pitstop, along with Gasly was Magnussen.
Rule 1 in any motorsport: Never go 3-Wide.
The corner approaches quickly while Logan attempts to finalize the move, hanging on the right side of Gasly with Magnussen on his left. Magnussen squeezes Gasly to the right and Gasly immediately backs out, causing Magnussen to clip Logan before the braking point, on the mark of the speed trap.
The orange light is not apart of the Yas Marina circuit and the roar does not belong to the sound of the engines, yet the red flag waves vigorously as if it always waved that fast.
Bahrain wasn't kind to Grosjean, Abu Dhabi doesn't seem kind to Logan.
The flame encapsulates Logan quickly as he disconnects the radio, the water tube, everything connected to the helmet that would prevent him from getting out. As he tries to pull himself out, something tugs on his leg, keeping him confined in the fire.
Every track has a fire extinguisher at certain marked areas. Fires don't last more than 2 minutes at best. However, when a car takes out the fire extinguisher, you're left to wait for another one to be ran over by a nearby crew or the safety car, so Logan had to wait.
When Grosjean crashed, his car broke the guardrail.
When Logan crashed, the guardrail pierced its way into the chassis and through his leg, keeping him confined.
Logan willed the panic away, knowing that he'll be rescued anyways soon. However, Logan hoped he'd stay alive long enough to be told that they were proud of him.
Logan hoped he made people proud, even as the beeps from the heart monitor connected began to slow, before the beep became continuous and flat.

I finished the Pandemonium raid series.
I thought Anabaseios was solid.
P9N and P12N are great.
I feel P10N and P11N have the same issues P6N and P7N fell into except to a lesser extent because I like them more.
P9's expanding and contracting donuts and circles were a ton of fun. And I really liked how Kokytos embodying different creatures changed his attacks. Super neat identity to the fight.
P10 was a similar case to P7 in that it had a really unique arena, but this time around I think the dodging was much more interesting and there was at least something that used the arena.
P11 is the weakest fight in Anabaseios, I think. The light/dark balance mechanic did some neat stuff because you had to stay in it and think about area denial a bit, but like a lot of Abyssos, I feel it should've had more mechanics, which were more complex and executed at a faster rate. You had something there, but the boss died before it truly got to stand out. I think I still like it more than P6N and P7N, though because this one specific idea was there "all the way through" and actually evolved, giving it a stronger identity than those fights.
P12 is my favourite fight in Pandemonium, I think, cool manipulation of platforms, neat play on donuts and circles, little bit of memory game dodging. A complete fight where different mechanics actively happened and evolved.
In terms of story, I think this was the most dense part. There were so many element happening at once and I think all of it tied together everything that came before.
We got an answer for what was going on with the Heart of Sabik (which in turn also made Ivalice relevant, which I'm super happy for because it at least made that slog matter).
It made Athena an actual character and she ended up being one of my favourite villains at the very least within all of the raid series because female villains often don't get to be smart or competent, much less have interesting motivations that aren't tied to their gender.
She is a fairly straight-forward as a personality, but the motivations we do get have a bunch of depth – they are tied to the ancients' search for perfection.
She is a foil to Venat's faith in humanity within their imperfection and her belief in humanity's freedom, instead wishing to build a perfect world within her singular vision; another twisted result of the ancients' belief in bettering their world by removing imperfect elements from it.
In a contrast to Hermes who chose to "test" humanity, she takes it upon herself to "perfect" humanity.
She is another result of the flaws of the ancients' society (in conjuction with alien influence, of course, because that always makes things a lot more fun). I dig her character a bunch.
Equally, I love how this final wing of the raid completes the character of Elidibus in its entirety.
I think he's like the perfect morally gray villain because in the end the faction that summoned Zodiark also wished for the world to be saved.
The Ascians were no different from Venat's faction in terms of motivation.
And I love how up to the end, the story is empathetic towards this idea and the character embodying the iconic Warrior of Light image does end up saving the world.
If he wasn't defeated and his aether and being wasn't available within the Crystal Tower, the causal loop/time travel would've never happened and the world would probably not have been saved from the Final Days.
All of the efforts, all of the work ends up worthwile because the world survived, humanity survived.
It's like the perfect ending for a morally ambigious struggle like this to me. Don't remove any of the bad the characters did, but make the noble intentions matter.
I already talked about Lahabrea in a previous post, so there are only two things I want to add.
First, I like how his character arc of taking responsibility and facing his problems and incorporating his bad parts back into himself probably also lead to him becoming Praetorium Lahabrea, but he also admits that yes, he'd probably do all of that because of the strict and uncompromising parts of himself (Athena's/the Heart of Sabik's influence, of course, helping it), so there's some fun causality here.
Second, I like how Athena is quoting his Praetorium speech (technically other way around).
Finally, there are Erichthonios and Claudien.
Him saying no to an abusive parent and becoming your own person making your own choices is such a satisfying character arc. It happened with Hephaistos and was even better with Athena. I actually have no other opinions about him.
Everything with Claudien on the other hand entirely feels like setup.
He has an ancient's memories and is now holding the Heart of Sabik.
Maybe a little too much naivete on the characters' part (ancient alien artifact left with the soul of someone potentially susceptible to its influence), but all of it tells me they have more coming where that came from and the unknown is super fun and exciting.
Now out of the major story material, all I have left is 6.2-6.55 MSQ. Looking forward to it.

I don’t know what’s happening with Louis, but people are now resorting to calling him the N-word in Mercedes comment section because he got P9 in free practice three. As if it isn’t just free practice this man is moving Mercedes for a reason. The white men keep saying he’s a crybaby. Like, that’s the only insult they got for him. Washed up and crymilton
they call him crymilton bc they can’t insult anything else LMAO
like how else can you insult arguably the goat of f1? the man who has helped carry merc and had 7 wdc + 103 wins + 104 pole positions etc
it’s rlly disgusting ppl are resorting to racism to insult lewis when we all know mercedes has had a shit car compared to before 💀💀
but if i was a 7 wdc i’d complain too if my team suddenly had a shitty car. 😭

Dead by Daylight Checkpoint Reached!
All characters at Prestige Level 3 or higher!
*[Until Alan Wake is added in a week, anyway]
(All skills unlocked to maximum level for all characters):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The Knight is temporarily disabled because they're patching a bug with him, but he's at P5 under that notification).
Guess we'll see how long it takes me to get everyone to P9, next.
I generally randomly roll to switch characters every time after I get a prestige level [No playing a character for back-to-back P-Levels, even when catching them up to the current floor], with certain checkpoints in-place so that I'm unlocking everything evenly. With some exceptions [Mainly, The Dredge at this point, because he's my favourite and the Killer that got me to have fun and start really understanding how playing Killer works], once a character reaches that P-Level, I won't actively work on their next P-Level until everyone else has also reached that checkpoint. I will still play them for dailies or if I need them for a specific archive challenge that's in my way. Anyone who gets to Bloodweb Level 45, I finish off their level, because getting them through BW-Level 50 usually is only 1-3 more games. New characters get levelled to the current lowest P-Level/floor among all others in their role (alternating levels between themselves and any other random character). If there's ever a point where two characters are the last ones still at the current floor, and I roll one of them, the other one is automatically next, just so that the floor gets moved up, and it's not a situation of a character getting completely screwed by the random rolls and then having to jump multiple floors to catch up to *everyone* else. The big checkpoints are:
Prestige 1 - Makes their skills accessible for everyone else in their role - They can unlock it in their own bloodwebs.
Prestige 3 - Fully levels up their skills. Nobody else needs to even pull it out of the bloodweb anymore.
Prestige 9 (Current goal for both killers and survivors, now) - Unlocks everything cosmetic that's only available through the levelling system - Bloody cosmetics and skill-charms.
Past this point, at least for now, it's a free-for-all up to P100 - Nothing else gained specifically other than your number going up. I suspect at some point this will change, and they'll fill out some milestones with backgrounds and/or icons for the relatively new player banner system. If/when that's the case, I'll add more checkpoints into the climb.
Current exceptions I have in-place for my rules:
Killers:
Dredge - Because it's my favourite. Dredge also gets all of my monthly ladder-reset bloodploints, for now, it's the character I'm most actively working on getting to P100. If ever there's a Killer that I can't play, I substitute in Dredge to farm for them and split the BP earned every match 50/50. I just recently got over the hump for the last 4 killers I couldn't play [Cannibal/Leatherface, Hillbilly, Blight, and Nurse - Aka the two chainsaw boys and the weird movement rules, steep-learning-curve, two "best" killers in the game], so everyone can earn their own BP now.
Nurse - Her movement was the toughest to figure out, and consequently the last Killer I started actually playing. I'm still not entirely great at playing as her, but I can at least mostly-reliably hit now. I had been dumping my spare BP into her, so that I could get her stuff unlocked and not have to worry about playing her ever again if I never wanted to. But since I had a match where I finally clicked on how she works, I've been trying with her. That being said, she was very close to that checkpoint once I started actually playing her, and since I'm still learning, completely excluding her from the rotation would just mean any skill I'm getting with her would degrade, so I'll keep playing her past P9 to keep practicing with her.
Xenomorph - A recent addition and a favourite for me right away. Just having a lot of fun when I play it. Designated the back-up farmer if I ever run into a scenario where I just did a level with Dredge and roll a killer I need to farm for.
Survivors:
Bill Overbeck - I'm a big Left 4 Dead fan, and the series holds a special place in my heart with regards to gaming and my community of online friends. So of course the old guy's one of my favourites.
Jeff Johansen - A bigger, bearded dude canonically from a small town in Alberta, near the mountains, whose (first) name is my name? Well, naturally I'm gonna put him in the faves zone.
Alan Wake [Once he's released, anyway] - Look, I absolutely adored Control and thus was majorly hyped for AW2 (still have to go back and play AW1, now that I'm finished with the 2, until the DLC is released). So, yeah, Alan's a new favourite character, and I'm majorly hyped for him coming to The Entity's Realm. Bonus points if Saga or Casey are alternate legendary skins for him [Or the Anderson brothers, as a real pie-in-the-sky stretch] - I'll absolutely break my general rule of not spending money on purely cosmetic items in-game. If they ever make Jesse Faden from Control an alternate skin, the is no question I'll get it immediately.
If I've done my math correctly [going only by whole prestige levels, since I don't really want to try to figure out the weighted average value of individual bloodweb levels],
I'm 32.78 % of the way to getting all Survivors to P9, and 2.95 % of the way to getting every Survivor to P100.
I'm 53.60 % of the way to getting all Killers to P9 (2/34 complete - Because the randomizer I use seemed to really like Singularity), and 4.94 % of the way to getting every Killer to P100.
Of course I've got spreadsheets about this - Have you realized how not-normal I am about this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It started as a way to keep track of where to find Archive/Tome Challenges that were specific to individual characters, since if I'm playing them, I might as well work on those challenges when I can, and do general challenges with anyone who doesn't currently have outstanding challenges, and ballooned out from there.

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 18 - USA
Yeehaw! (sorry, couldn't help myself). What can I say the 2024 testing hype is getting to me and I really want to finally finish my 2013 watch through before the first race of the season, so we're on Austin!
Again, very few memories of this race bar Seb's first and only win at COTA and the very iconic "We have to remember these days..." team radio 🥹
So let's get into it!
As far as I can remember, they just had regular Pirelli podium caps instead of the cowboy ones but I could be wrong.
Honestly I don't mind COTA as a track that much. It's not one of the greats but it is decent.
What the fuck is Hulkenberg doing in 4th??????
Starting the grid order whiplash early I see
Speaking of, let's get into it: Seb pole and Webber P2, normal for 2013; Grosjean P3; Hulkenberg P4 (WILD); Lewis P5; Val P9 (hell yeah); Jev P14 and Jenson P15 :(
OH we also have Heikki Kovalinen filling in for Kimi as he missed the last two races of 2013, he lines up P8.
Mediums and Hards are the tyre compounds for this race.
[Formation Lap]: It is also Quite Warm™️. To the point where it may become a 2-stop race due to thermal degradation.
"Mercedes don't care if they're 19th and 20th so long as Ferrari are 21st and 22nd" um... I care
[Start/Lap 1]: Grosjean takes P2 at turn 1!!!!
and Lewis takes P3!!!!!
and we already have yellow flags
aaaaand they're gone
shit Sutil's in the wall (he's fine)
aaaaaaand Safety Car
well that was certainly a first lap.
Sutil's girlfriend facepalming is a mood
[Lap 2]: Bernd Maylander sighting!!! Our forever Driver of The Day.
[Lap 3]: as it's a SC there's really nothing much going on apart from shots of people in garages
and the replay of Webber's start was actually fine, it was just where he'd positioned the car that led to him losing places
[Lap 4]: Hi Ted!!!!
woo SC in this lap
let's go zoom zoom!
Seb's had a great SC restart, I miss it when they didn't stress me out
[Lap 5]: "We think Jenson might have a bit of front wing damage" fUCK
racing gods stop being mean to my boy
[Lap 6]: Seb leads by 1.9 seconds like the GOAT he is
Alonso is down in P7 I have zero idea how that happened.
and once again I'm quite compelled by just watching the cars go round even though there's nothing much happening sdvhvhd
[Lap 7]: Webber is catching up to the back of Lewis 👀
[Lap 8]: Not Maldonado having a wobbly front wing (possibly from the contact with Sutil)
[Lap 9]: again nothing much happening but cars going around the track are fun to just watch 😅
[Lap 10]: Though Webber's dropped back from Lewis a tiny bit
Jenson is in the dizzying heights of... P14 🥲
Hulkenberg is also the conductor of a little DRS train in P5
[Lap 12]: a shot of the McLaren pit wall since there's so little racing happening
[Lap 13]: Lewis getting a little snarky with Bono instantly being followed with a shot of the Merc pit wall dbhdfjbshfdj
and Webber gets past Lewis!!
The TV feed literally cut to it as it was happening so I got a bit of a fright
It was a saucy move though, round the outside of turn 16
[Lap 15]: Once again asking where I can get myself an emotional support Bono
also also HOW is Rosberg down in P11 but Hulkenberg is in P5. Nico be serious for a minute please.
and by be serious, I mean get your pretty little head further up the field and be the superior Nico
...Not Hulkenberg being faster than Lewis too 😭
once again asking Mercedes to get their shit together
JENSON SIGHTING!!!!!
[Lap 16]: He's chasing down Massa for 13th
the TV feed following Jenson and immediately getting a Seb fastest lap, the racing gods are Sebson truthers
[Lap 17]: Seb onboard!!!!! He exists!!!!
he also has a 6.3 second gap over Grosjean
"I've got no grip man" every race we get closer to the maiden 'Bono my tyres are gone'
[Lap 19]: Anyway I haven't done a top 5 overview yet, it's: Seb, Grosjean, Webber, Lewis and Hulkenberg
Speaking of Nico v Nico, Rosberg takes P10 from Ricciardo
It was a good move too! Started in the braking zone of turn 16 and ended around turn 18, probably the longest bit of racing we've had so far
[Lap 21]: And Jenson makes his first and possibly only stop
he comes out in P16 😭
[Lap 24]: Bottas pits from P8 and comes out in P10
[Lap 26]: I think Lewis got the message after the third box Bono, but I appreciate the dedication to the bit (Lewis has made his one and likely only stop, like many mediums off for hards)
[Lap 28]: Seb finally makes his first stop! And also for the hard tyres
Lewis jumped Hulkenberg at his stop!!!!!! God!! Bless!!!!
also also 🚨WE ARE FINALLY AT HALF DISTANCE🚨
and honestly thank goodness, this race has not been it thus far
[Lap 29]: Webber also makes his first stop
and oof 2.3 second stop.
I wish I could say that Fernando made a great move on Gutierrez but the on board camera was at a funky angle so I didn't actually see it
[Lap 30]: Grosjean has pitted and comes out between the two Red Bulls
aaaaaand a Seb fastest lap 👌
oof Lewis is not happy this race 😩
[Lap 31]: Perez passes Gutierrez on the main straight
[Lap 32]: Nico Rosberg finally gets himself into P11
and lol at the fact you can barely hear Ross Brawn on the TV feed.
the V8 engines said "I've had enough of this guy"
[Lap 33]: Top 5 overview since it's been a while: Seb, Grosjean, Webber, Lewis and Hulkenberg
Webber is only within a couple of seconds of Grosjean though
And Jenson is still in P14 🥲
Rosberg takes P10 from Di Resta down the inside of turn 16!!!
Another very fun move 👌
[Lap 34]: And Valtteri briefly took P8 from Gutierrez
for a 2013 Williams that's basically winning a grand prix
[Lap 35]: I can't believe I'd forgotten about the rotating cameras on the front wings 😵‍💫
BUT Valtteri re-takes P8 - through the esses section!!!!
another peach of a move 👏
[Lap 37]: Webber's been dropping back from Grosjean by half a second...
Comms don't think he has a problem but biiiig oofs
"Rosberg's starting to catch Bottas" oh the 'Nico's sudden retirement causing Valtteri to take his seat' of it all
[Lap 38]: Webber just did the fastest lap, he's fine
meanwhile Jenson's in P13!!!! progress!!!!
Being a Jenson fan in 2013 was rough, let me tell you
[Lap 39]: *crosses off 'Andrea Stella talking to Fernando in Italian' off my bingo card*
huh, Massa made a second stop for mediums
inch resting
nvm IT PUTS JENSON IN 12TH!!!!!!
[Lap 40]: Seb sighting!!!!
[Lap 41]: livery watch: oh the navy and gold Toro Rosso livery how I miss you...
[Lap 42]: Rocky once again telling Seb to slow down dfvhdfvhd
unstoppable force vs immovable object
Rocky and Bono are the founders of the Exhausted Race Engineers Club
[Lap 44]: and we now find ourself in the very strange universe where Alonso (in a Ferrari) can't get past Hulkenberg (in a Sauber)
You'd think it would be an immediate pass, but no
[Lap 45]: and Fernando finally gets the move done on the exit of turn one
Lewis is the next car ahead...
potential stress inducing battle aside, another Seb sighting!!!
He is unbothered, moisturised, flourishing
[Lap 46]: Jenson closing up to the back of Di Resta
[Lap 47]: damn Fernando is already within DRS range of Lewis
the old man is old manning again
[Lap 48]: Speaking of old men, Webber's back in DRS range of Grosjean
[Lap 50]: Still catching but not quite close enough
Lewis is back to 2 seconds ahead of Fernando
and most importantly on midfield watch, Valtteri is still in P8
Jenson's into P11!!!!!!!! WE MAY STILL GET POINTS!!!!!!
oh a Simon Rennie sighting for the girlies (gn)
[Lap 52]: 🚨5 laps remaining!!!!🚨
honestly the second half of the race was much better than the first, curse you one stop races
Jenson is 2.4 seconds from P10, I'm not sure if he's going to make it
[Lap 53]: you know that "I wanna see my little boy" vine? That's me every time the TV feed cuts to Seb
[Lap 54]: Jenson is now 6 tenths behind P10
come onnnnnn JB
[Lap 55]: We literally have 2 laps left
can't type. too invested in watching the Jenson v Ricciardo battle.
HE TAKES P10 ON THE EXIT OF TURN 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's my guy that's my bestie
[Lap 56]: Last lap!
looks like everyone else is going to hold position
[Finish]: AND SEB WINS IN COTA!!!!!!!!!
His 8th win on the bounce, which at the time made him the first driver to do that in one season. MY GOAT!!!
rest of the Top 10: Grosjean, Webber, Lewis, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Perez, Bottas, Rosberg and Jenson
well, that kind of felt like a race of two halves, which I'm very much pinning on the one stop strategy the bulk of the cars ran. But WHEW once the drivers didn't have to conserve their tyres the racing was great! Loads of battles up and down the field which was so fun to watch.
Next race, and the last one of 2013 - Brazil!

4 Chinese Auto Manufacturers Aiming To Conquer South Africa
Haval and Chery aren't the only Chinese brands looking to take over the South African market.
Tumblr media
South Africa's automotive landscape is undergoing a seismic shift as Chinese car brands continue to gain traction and make their mark. Haval and Chery are leading the way and have quickly become household names, an astounding achievement when you consider no one knew what Haval was two years ago.
The days when Chinese vehicles were considered cheapo knockoffs are firmly in the past. Today, Chinese automakers are producing high-quality, top-seeded vehicles and South African consumers are paying attention.
So Haval and Chery are the clear leaders in the Chinese invasion, there are a lot more where they came from. Here are five more Chinese cars that are planned to drop before the end of the year.
Ora Cat
We’ve spoken about the Ora Cat before, but only because everyone else in the motoring community is too.
The Ora Cat is poised to become a game-changer in the South African market and word on the street is that this is the electric vehicle (EV) that could make this category properly mainstream. We wait in anticipation as a proper release date has yet to be announced.
More importantly, pricing is what will really make or break the Ora Cat. Industry speculation is that it will retail for R600 000, which isn’t exactly cheap, but might be an acceptable price for new technology. Currently getting an EV in South Africa means having to fork out a million Rand or more. At that price point, R600 000 seems like a bargain.
Tank 300
Going in a completely different direction is the Tank 300. The name should tell you all you need to know. If you want rugged and robust, look no further than the Tank 300.
A sub-brand of GWM, the Tank 300 off-roader is a combination of exceptional durability and no-nonsense design. Its bold, commanding presence basically says I’m not here to play, I’m here to work. While it is difficult to honestly comment on its off-road capabilities at this juncture, the Tank 300 has a lot of positive buzz and looks ready to conquer South Africa's challenging terrains.
JAC T9 Hunter
South Africans always seem to require a versatile and capable bakkie and, if nothing else, the JAC T9 Hunter at least looks the part. I’d go so far as to say it's the best-looking bakkie I’ve seen in years.
Taking on the mighty Toyota Hilux and the Car of the Year-winning Ford Ranger is probably not the smartest play in the South African market. And yet JAC will attempt just that with the T9 Hunter, a double-cab bakkie meant for work and play.
But you can't underestimate the Chinese, GWMs P9 range of bakkies have represented themselves well, so there’s no reason to think JAC can’t do the same.
BAIC B80
While JAC is planning on fighting with Toyota and Ford for the bakkie crown, the BAIC B80 is chasing down the likes of Mercedes-Benz and their G-Glass.
Other BAIC new cars which are extremely popular already.
It’s an obvious match-up - just look at its, err, looks. It's clearly trying to ape Merc’s iconic G-wagon. Reported features include 17-inch alloys, xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, leather upholstery, aluminium sports pedals, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a digital driver display, a sizable infotainment unit, a reverse camera, keyless start, front and rear parking sensors, and cruise control. So it’s also trying to match the Merc in creature comforts.
However, the reported price tag is R1 million plus. At that point, you might as well just get the Merc.
BAIC new car range currently offered includes an off-roader, namely the B40 Plus which is certainly worth a look. Of course, there is the Compact Family COTY winner, the Beijing X55 in the new car stables from BAIC too.
