everyone is involved in the discourse and i wanna be too lmao. on one hand, i’m rooting for satoru and oc. i really think their relationship was salvageable but when i think about it, this was two people who weren’t super in love from the beginning of their situation but tried to make things work. going from strangers to parents with barely any room to truly get to know each other…the relationship was doomed to be strained. satoru and naomi…she got the version of him i believe oc would have gotten had they had more time to flush out a genuine long-standing relationship before becoming parents. raising a baby while simultaneously trying to continuously assert your own identity within being a new parent is already complicated and leaves a lot of room for poor communication as individuals but factoring in a romantic relationship in there…it at times feels like they weren’t ready for each other. and they weren’t going to be ready until they found ways to be okay with this new self they had to become. a part of me feels like a lot of satoru’s attitude is just resentment. like they both love their child but i don’t know if either of them enjoyed parenthood. and that’s a weird hard thing to have to talk about. and it seems really easy to have either overflowing resentment or a complete withdrawal of yourself. ah, anyway i love the story. i don’t have kids but their dynamic has pushed me into really thinking about these types of nuanced, complicated relationships. like naomi! i personally love[d] her. she’s lost her way now, but i don’t believe it was ever her intent to try and replace oc. also! idk if it was your intention to make naomi out to be a almost villian specifically through oc’s perspective in the beginning but it’s very interesting watching her behavior as told through oc’s perception, feeling like great i’m gonna hate this girl and then her behavior as told through satoru’s which made me like her. the stuff with his mom tho. whew lmao. she really had me in the first half then ran straight off the field all together. like girl! what is you doin! where is you goin! this is assault!

now, rangiku-san comes in handy bc her coping mechanism is drinking and that's how she comforts her friends too. shuhei is gonna get all drunk and teary, browsing through his album of their photos together and wailing for another bottle of sake. 😔 kira probably disapprove this kind of rs, but he couldn't bear to sees his senpai in this state. (these three really know what it means to go through a heartbreak again, don't they?)

eventually, kira would be the one who seek them out and break the truth to reader. he'd tell them about the shinigami, soul society, hollow and everything. he thinks reader deserve to know that much, if shuhei is serious about their rs and future together.

if reader decides that they can accept him for who he is and are willing to work around it, kira would bring them to the soul society to meet him. shuhei would be devastated when they see him in his shihakusho and his katana. (worse, if he released his kazeshini) but no worries, flash him a warm smile, give him reassuring hugs, tell him he's worthy and enough and deserve love ahsjdjdkkdldhdjdkd 😫💗

10 Anti LO Asks

(Note: All of these asks are before episode 206 (Season 2 finale) so some may be dated.) 1. I can't even trustt this "cute" moment between zeus and artemis bc rachel is just way too anti zeus and too big of a fan of "twist" villains that I just have the feeling she's going to use this as a stepping stone to set up artemis the next villain because idk she doesnt like hades still and be like oh what BETRAYAL of persephone! now both of the twins should be punished now! or w/e.

2. It's not just that a time skip is lazy and out of place, if you're just going to flashback to explain what happened anyway, then don't do a time skip? Just show the progression as you already have done? Why skip ahead only to jump back? She's basically trying to do too many things at once and none of it is done well.

3. the wild part to me is has rachel ACTUALLY read the old texts? because they're way more progressive than her work. demeter's hymn praised her and persephone while calling out the abuse of men, women like aphrodite (who has a ton of sex with many partners) or artemis who didnt have sex were all held to high respect and never shamed for their choices, and stories like the odyssey/Iliad explicitly called out slavery, yet rachel is here in 2022 being ore conservative than men from 800 BC. like???

4. A time skip in LO isn’t a bad idea in and of itself. We’ve been complaining about RS’s slow pacing for years and she’s finally taking a different approach, which is good! The only problem is that her execution of the time skip ends up leaving out integral and interesting details about how the characters’ relationships with each other have changed in the decade since we’ve seen them. I was looking forwards to Minthe and Perse reconciliation arc but we don’t even know how they grew to that point

5. I love the her current look is a "turn off" line tho bc it's both persephone being aware hades is a gross old man who only dates under 25 years olds but doesnt seem to linger on this realization (P is legit so stupid) but also that rachel has zero self awareness that shes not a very good artist bc persephone still looks exactly the same despite being ten years older. like rachel will just say whatever lie she thinks up despite direct contradiction in comic and be like wow im such a good writer

6. Out of all things wrong with LO, I don't think I mind the switch from serious to silly in the mid-season premiere chapter? The part where Zeus gets threatened with ConSEqueNCEs for punishing Persephone is dumb as hell, but the transition to her speaking to the screen like she's talking to the audience before revealing something ridiculous is a tried and tested way of moving to a new scene, so I kinda like it. It's marred by her talk of pierced ears and green hands, but it's not bad.

7. How did you get into  Lore Olympus  in  the first place?

From OP: I found LO after seeing a lot of ads for it. I already knew of its existence but decided to try it because why not (I think I got into it around episode 70ish). I was obsessed with it, not solely because of the romance but because of the art. However, I started to question a lot of the stuff in the story and looked through youtube and tumblr to see if I was the only one feeling this way. Surprise surprise, I wasn’t and now I’m here lol.

8. I'm confused with the whole Artemis being called protector of women. You'd think she would do something to earn that title, but all she did was ask to be with Persephone in the mortal realm? It makes zero sense.

9. I know changing your physical appearance is sometimes an external sign that a change is going on internally but... did RS really have Persephone pierce her ears as the ONLY sign of her taking her life into her hands? I don't mind it as a heavy-handed metaphor but girl has done the bare minimum in ten years (a punishment she was happy with until they actually sentenced her with it) and you're telling me it's #girlboss because she pierced her ears???

10. What's so annoying about the timeskip too is it's not just lazy, it makes the last FOUR YEARS be for nothing. HxP relationship is exactly the same and their characterization is stagnant, big deals like Leto and Kronos are just swept to the side, Eros and Psyche was dropped I guess? Minthe and Daphne is resolved off scrteen, and the now the actual myth is supposed to start after FOUR YEARS of nothing happening? It's just a waste of everyone's time, but Rachel gets rich off of it at least 🤨

I admit outside of H I only listen to more alternative pop artists who don't do these type of promo so I'm not well informed. Do new celebrity couples do that? Appear in magazines together for an editorial after 2 months in the spotlight? Can anyone give examples? I so don't see that happening. I think people who are comparing it to holivia in RS are forgeting that him and o had a joint project which was at least on paper the main topic of that article. Harry and Taylor don't have anything similar except if loewe drops something like, tomorrow. And vogue is a fashion magazine so what else could they do for it. I think people are panicking a bit haha and that it's way more likely that one of them will do an editorial solo, most likely her, and he was on that walk to help bring more attention to it cuz let's be fr noone is running after tr, lambert and whoever from vogue to take a picture. I don't know why they don't call the paps tho, it would just be easier.

I have no idea, i'm as clueless as you. It seems like H is on Anna Wintour and EE's good side so even if it's not been done before, it still might happen with them. They did put H on the cover as the first man in a dress. So i wouldn't count it out. It would be to promo l*ewe of course (and their heterosexuality). Okay so like, about Lore Olympus, here's some things I would personally like to see / what I think would make the retelling better:

Persephone being like, 119 and not outright 19. I'm super okay with an age gap just...I've seen some criticism making some very valid points about that and I feel a bit uncomfortable abt it now. So 119 seems like a reasonable age to me. That way, Rachel could have played into "Demeter is a controlling parent" thing too. She kept Perse in the mortal realm under her watch to protect her ans Perse eventually grew bored of it and being babied (even tho Demeter did it with the best of intentions). Not sayin that you cant get annoyed by it at 19, it's perfectly normal, but I feel like 119 would be more suitable bc Perse's powers would develop more and more and beg for space to grow properly (haha, notice my bad pun?). Also, if I failed to mention, it would also make things less creepy between her and Hades. ALSO, Perse veing older would also be good for strenghtening her friendship with the nymphs she made/grew up with, which brings me to my next point

PERSE WITH HER NYMPH FRIENDS. That way, her going genocide mode would be a bit more emotionally striking.

Her friendship with Hermes would also have time to develop more

About Hestia and Athena, I got no problem with their relationship, since RS made them non related. I would like it if she makes their relationship romantic and not sexual, bc that would play well with them beinf in TEGOM (or whatever it is called). Now, idk the specifics of the vow, but from what I understand, it only talks abt sex, not romantic relationships

I would rlly rlly rlly like to see what happened with the Titans and the premordial beings

I would also like to see Psyche and Eros developing their relationship (even if it's jusr crumbs)

Well, I managed to watch the whole hour of S2E0, the Revenge of the Spider Queen episode during the wedding reception. 1) bestie I’ve been following maika and Joe for bit now on social media I mean, not irl. And let me tell you what I’ve chalked up. Sorry if this a long post I might break it into multiple parts.

But anyway i think maika didn’t meet up with him on the set of ST4 because of COVID regulations which is understandable but I think that’s when things started to go down hill. Like you’ve been a bubble for so long working on your rs being together 24/7 and then all of a sudden like you’re separated I think they were on/off during that time and off particularly last winter or the winter during filming (sorry time has become a blur) because there were rumors of Joe being flirty with women ofc they’re rumors but yk it adds up. I think since then their rs has been sort of rocky and that’s why she didn’t walk the carpet and they’ve been of and off since ST4 filming. I always found it sus she didn’t walk the carpet but all the BTS tea about it makes me think they were “together” but off like they claimed each other but it wasn’t the same way it used to be. And like afterwards when he didn’t come to her bday or she didn’t attend lallo it was like getting more sus. But then he still claimed her as his gf which makes me think they were on a break but not officially broken up. And then he stopped wearing the necklace and things got even more sus during September and I think they officially broke up when he left for filming. Like idk what happened during that time but they went from on a break to broken up. Which would explain the unfollowing, him not wearing the necklace, lizzy not following her and her not visiting him at all. I still held out hope even tho it seemed like she was free cause yk long distance and celebrity couples and all that even tho couples with busier schedules were making it work. But then now she’s in Peru while he’s in Canada idk I expected them meet up or like her to visit him. So for me it’s kind of official they’ve broken up but I’m waiting until the holidays since that’ll be the most telling time imo. And not to mention her cryptic tweets and him not mentioning her in anything post august.

I think Joe moved in with her so the place would still be her apartment. Idk the semantics about how he’s moving out or whatever but I do know he still claims Thelma as his dog. But anyway yeah things have been getting sus and for awhile now so I’m thinking they went from on/off (pre COVID/during COVID) to on a break to (ST4 filming) broken up (now)if that makes sense. I think they wanted to give the rs another shot but then called it off. I think for me what’s most telling is Joe going from mentioning her in every interview to not mentioning her at all since august, her not visiting him, and not posting about Djo stuff, and him not wearing the necklace.

Also about DM they’re not reliable per say especially about bigger celebs but she usually checks her sources out. And I don’t see why people would lie about a more private/smaller celeb like Joe and maika it wouldn’t get them that much clout in the first place

Also before anyone comes at me for being this nosy I’m a journalist irl and like everyday I have to look through and write about either boring or really dark things happening in the world and this is how I cope

hmmm, it wasn't <i>bad</i> per se - tho it took some time to really get going and effort to wrap my head around some things - but it didn't live up to the hype

the writing.. wasn't bad just.. idk felt v matter of fact and void of emotion? wasn't really vibing with it tbqh

it took about 30% for things to really get going/really interest and hook me, and also for me to sorta wrap my head around this world, the characters and the magic/card system. it did progressively get better and the second half was def a step up, and that chalice/truth serum game scene was def one of the highlights of the book, both for the elspeth/ravyn bits and the elm/ione crumbs

I liked elspeth and ravyn well enough and you know what, they got some pretty nice couple-y moments that had me👀🥺 - but.. I just didn't really feel their rs and its progression of strangers to lovers, yeah they r hot, yeah they have some similar life experience, yeah they have the same goal and are united to reach it, but still, just, didn't really feel it, idk maybe it was the writing, maybe something else, its hard to put my finger on it. I'm on board with them and could appreciate them and their sweet/badass moments, but ig not as much as I had hoped I would? - not bad, but ain't as good as it could've been (could be the tag line of the book)

I knew elm and ione would be a thing in book 2, so I paid close attention and their interactions, and while few and smol they were so👀🥺😏 like their shared smirks at his bro's expense or the bit where hauth was using her and elm took her face in his hands then overpowered his bro to free her. I loved the elm/ione crumbs and was v much lookin forward to more in the next book

(I started last night, and they are already serving, tho ione is pretty hard to read ngl, but elm? with his secret crush on her, even from before gahhhhh)

big fan of venom and symbrock, so I'm always down for parasitic rs lmao - the nightmare and elspeth had an interesting thing going, tho honestly the big reveal of who it/he was was so easy to spot, the fact it took the poor girl 11 years to realise is💀

the card thing is interesting to be sure, but tbh the whole thing + the royal fam who's who was a bit hard to wrap my head around, I had to stop and look up a guide💀 it got a bit better once I found a cards summary of which card can do what and what's it cost + a list of characters and who they relate to, but still I shouldn't need to rely on some guide lines xd

and tbqh I still don't really get some of the card stuff.. like, I get that they are trying to unite the deck and break the Curse or whatever, and it's been pretty clear that there's only a certain number of cards and the whole deck makes 78, nothing more nothing less, but the way the story went gave the impression that there were several decks? which isn't the case, but that's how it came across? cos the king was looking to unite the deck, was looking for the twin addlers, which makes one think that he has most of the rest, but then our guys were also doing the same and said they only had a couple left, at the end they only needed the well and the twins.. but? the guards had their black horses and the royal fam had their red scythes and ione had a maiden, the king had the 2nd nightmare, other people were seen carrying around other colors? how? if team ravyn had <i>all, but the last 2</i> cards in their possession, hidden away then how come there were all those cards moving around and even if we assume they were planning on taking away the guards and royals cards that would still take time and maneuvering and those cards weren't in their possession yet, so it really don't add up for me - cos again, there's only one deck, but it felt like there were more cards floating around, unless team ravyn didn't actually have all the cards, but it was said that they did?! ion get it fam

also again the writing, honestly the action scenes and the elspeth/nightmare attacking scenes and just some stuff in general was sometimes a bit hard to follow

so yeah, interesting premise, great characters, some good rs moments, but the emosh development of it didn't really come across for me, the writing wasn't my fav and some magic/world building/cards related stuff just really was not clear - the potential was there, the execution could've been better

PS.: one more thing; for how close elspeth and ione were supposed to be and how ione was el's fav cousin you'd think she'd be more worried about her and more proactive to at least try to help her, even if they had an argument about ione wanting her to let her make her own choices and yeah I get that el had a lot on her plate and all, but whenever ione was present she tried her best to help elspeth out and their rs felt v one sided in that sense tbh (maybe it's my ione bias speaking, but that's just how I felt🤷🏻‍♀️)

she has a nice voice and her narration was good, but I felt like she didn't really have the distinct character vices down. I recently listened to the Dark in You series and say what you want about that narration (particularly harper's bratty voice) when someone spoke I <i>knew</i> exactly who it was, each character had such a distinct voice - not here tho, there was a distinction between male/female sure, but there were times when say elspeth shouted but it was in a voice closer to ravyn's than her own idk it wasnt bad, but it could've been a bit better yano)

1. I know it won't happen, but I do wish maybe around the fourth year anniversary of LO in March Rachel would put it on a mid-season hiatus and take a real, long break off. Maybe not a year, but definitely several months, maybe half a year at bare minimum. Going literal /years/ without a real break to just relax and recharge cannot be good physically, mentally, or emotionally, and she has enough of a dedicated fanbase that it won't hurt it's numbers. If not for the comic's sake, then for herself.

2. whats annoying to me about people being mad at "antis" is like none of these blogs or discords would even need to exist if these same people actually let real discussion and critique be allowed in the fan spaces without fear of doxxing, harassment, and threats? most of the critique isnt even particularity bad, but they act like you personally killed their mother right in front of them and force you out, then get mad people have to create blogs like this just to talk? you cant win with them.

3. Didn't realize Rachel was against fan edits of the comic. she must have gotten too jealous of how much better @nymphsupremacy is at their editing work 💀

4. IDK how RS has nearly 200k twitter followers yet most of her tweets a best only break about 5k likes. Same on instagram which has over 657k followers yet her posts only get about 50k likes. Like that's less than 10% of her followers on either app actually liking and engaging with her posts. Like LO fanart gets more traction than her own posts. That's just odd to me.

10. LO is really heading into the 200 episode range with no end in sight. The trial still isn't even done! They haven't even touched on Semele, Eros and Psyche, Leto trying to make Apollo take down Zeus, or Kronos! Or even the main myth with Demeter! Like is that another 2-4 years of content then, if not more? When is it ever supposed to end? How is any of this supposed to wrap up without it being rushed and/or most of these plots left with no conclusion? Even HxP isn't technically together by now!

why did you choose this URL?

because I wanted to go with something Leedo related but leedo and geonhak were taken (but idk if I even tried it lmao). why did you start this blog in the first place?

because I got freshly into kpop after a break, my personal was already too exposed. for a time being it had the same URL as my Instagram username. And for the first time in my life I kinda wanted a member/group-oriented account so I was like I AM CREATING A NEW TUMBLR lmao but I failed since it became a multi anyways, but god knows I try to make sure that ONEUS content takes at least 60-70% of the stuff I post about.

for a long time, I wanted my blog to be fancy as feck, like you know living up to the name. But this bish Geonhak doesn't run around wearing a crown (like he should). So I took matters into my own hands. ISTG if I ever go to their live fan sign I'm bringing 50 crowns for my king!

why did you choose your header?

SO IF YOU GO TO MY PERSONAL (and if you were to see ALMOST all of the blogs that I have ever had on this site), you'd see that I'm a hoe for black/red color palette. This theme looked so nice in black/grey at first tho. But then they dropped teasers for Black Mirror and when I saw Keonhee in a red suit, I lost it. And I was like IF LEEDO IS IN RED I AM CHANGING MY COLOR PALETTE so here we are :) it's only logical that I chose his teaser for the header.
