Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators:

1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

Her personal record is 10 years. (Hah, a little DH humor for you there.)

12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?

There’s never a shortage of people who wouldn’t mind scratching her back. Or at least that’s how she sees it. To be fair I’m pretty sure that estimation is correct.

Mentally is kind of another story. Mental itches, to me, sound a bit like demonic whisperings. Those she /tries/ very hard to ignore. But I guess it’s a motto at this point: “Sometimes the demons win. We just need to be sure they’re battles we can afford to lose.”

Kinda a smart cookie this one.

36. Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap? 

She’s certainly impressed with romance when it happens, though it rarely is the case. However her outwardly appreciating it is fickle at best. She abstains from long term romantic connections, so gestures are usually seen as a road to that. She’s very quick to stomp it out when she sees it, even if she usually does long for that attention that’s never received.

A) Why are you excited about this character?

Uhhhh, donno I’m honestly always excited about Korr (just ask my friends I will gush for days). I just think she’s neat, and complicated, and tragic. A lot of the time I’m just excited to get to show other people how much depth she has, while encouraging folks to dive deeper. She’s too cool to sit on the shelf with all my other characters.

I’m actually really digging her current iteration where she’s a lot more comfortable in her own skin and not half a hair away from a breakdown. I’d reckon 5 more years should mellow her out even further.

D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

Oh this is a good one for her. Well, I started writing for her post DH transformation so I’ve never had to edit. Actually she’s been the same character model too since her inception (usually how it is with the faves, oddly enough).

However! I do have a lot of thoughts about her pre-Illidari form. I mean obviously she didn’t have fangs, horns, claws, or tatttoos, but I was a really big fan of the physical transformation. Her character makes a big deal about not wanting to be monsterous, but she is very very very quiet to the fact that bonding with a Sayaad did effect her looks in minor ways. A big emphasis on minor as it’s written as she gained more conventionally attractive traits rather then you know like scales. I could give you a ton of tiny examples but idk I always find it funner to leave a bit to the imagination there.

All I’m saying is she has plenty of reasons for saying she’s not the same person she was prior.

H) What trait do you admire most?

Probably her tenacity. I mean I dont want to get all sad here but I can’t even begin to imagine some of the struggles she faces that aren’t entirely obvious. Like for her to wake up every day is kind of amazing. She lost everything for nothing, can never get it back, screwed up her entire psyche, and she’s still at it. Bad bitches don’t take a break I guess.

Riven x Musa

Ok, so I keep seeing posts everywhere that basically badmouth S8 and after seeing ten seconds of the trailer (YIKES to the animation, what’s wrong with the industry that they are making everything anime? Powerpuff Gen Z, I’m looking at you – obs: I didn’t watch it fully yet) I can see where some of the criticism is coming from but anyways…

My favorite Winx!couple EVER has always been Musa x Riven since I was kid and first watched the show (Netflix is not helping ‘cause I ship them even there).

I remember yawning at Bloom/Sky, rolling my eyes at Stella/Brandom and making a completely incredulous expression that I could literally feel forming on my face at Helia/Flora (can anyone say ‘unrealistic’?). Timmy/Tecna are a second favorite.

And why my Winx OTP are Riven x Musa followed after Timmy x Tecna? Because it reflects real life. In real life you’re not gonna stumble into people whose real and deep relationship problems are solved in twenty four minutes (not even that considering that some episodes present the “problem” half-way through said 24 minute-episode).

The breakup between Riven and Musa in S6 (spoilers everywhere after all) was one of the most mature breakups in the history of breakups with the hope for the future (yes, I’m completely ignoring S7, sue me, the whole thing was one huge filler anyways). And, after reading a lot of opinions on both ends (defending Musa/attacking Riven and defending Riven/attacking Musa) and watching the episodes in question (reuniting through reconciling) I think I can give my own analysis.

Since Musa AND Riven (individually and as couple) are my favorite characters in Winx, I think I CAN give a fairly unbiased view (hopefully).

*clears throat*

Ok, keep in mind that I’m defending BOTH of them, because I ship them too hard not to.

Musa Being OC (sometimes being called ‘brat’): C'mon, people! Musa and Tecna are OC since S4 anyways, where are the tomboy and the nerd? With the sneakers, T-shirt and comfortable-looking clothes? Noooo, now they all need neat skirts and hot pink high heels and long, glamorous hair. Do they look good? Of course, but and I would totally be less pissed if there was ANY indication on the reason for the change. Are they just maturing? Expressing themselves differently? Crowd mentality? Tune and Stella finally broke Musa down and Tecna followed soon after? Was it just to please Riven and Timmy? ANYTHING (even the 'pleasing a boy’ would at least be A reason - a ridiculous one that would piss me off, but A reason none the less), was just a sudden impulse that took?

Sure, we can talk about “character growth” until we are blue in the face, but the matter of the fact is that there was none.

The changes we see in Musa and Tecna are basically the creators making them more like the rest of the Winx (I’m including Aisha in this too, where is the sporty girl that matched the boy’s interest in extreme sports? C'mon! Even Bloom and her Girl Next Door looks are replaced with Bratz and Clueless-level of outfits).

Is anyone really going to look me in the eye and say Stella wasn’t a shallow (if friendly and good-natured) Mean Girl? She got better, but as I re-watch the show (currently in S3, meaning almost half-way through the content), Stella still worries more about her hair than anything else even while under literal fire.

More and more, Musa, Tecna and Aisha are losing their identities and what made them, IMO, the more badass Winx.

How did the two on the left went from this…

… to this:

Yeah, yeah, Musa still sings, Tecna still technobabble and Aisha is still a Warrior Princess but Aisha was the first one to go Bloom and Stella on us with Musa and then Tecna following soon after. It’s not just their clothing style, it’s the way they carried themselves too.

Right now? The only thing keeping them apart is their BF blues (different kind of blues) and some personal interests (singing, shopping, tech, the whole drama with Domino/Sparks, etc). But that’s IT, their personalities are going down the drain!

Sorry for the long-winded text, but the reason I’m expressing my disappointment at their change is because Musa’s reaction fits it. S6 we have such an AMAZING breakup (didn’t even think that was possible, WTH, right? Amazing breakup?) only for her to be mad as hell at Riven at S8? Bad writing, that has been dragging her (and the rest of the Winx) down to becoming just one unilateral, shallow character (the Specialists are also falling into that pit, what in the world did they do Helia in S8? He sounds like Thor telling about his “brave exploits” there, yikes). And continuity what? What continuity? Do they even remember how the breakup was written?

But ok, let’s put the Audience View aside for a moment and focus only on the In-Universe terms.

S6: You’ll always be my hero.

S8: What on EARTH are you doing here. 

I laughed a bit, the contrast just got to me but instead of getting mad at one or the other like most of the fandom, I laughed.

Musa followed that by saying that Riven has not maintained contact and just in that I would be beyond pissed as well and giving my support to Musa. WTH, Riven? I think that each season is more less six months to a year? Sort of? Still, zero contact for so long even after ending on amicable terms and wanting to stay friends? And he went off on his own! A text now going, “I’m not dead” would be the bare basics for Musa not to worry herself bald!

BUT then I also read comments about how this was a two-way street, why didn’t Musa call either? That’s unfortunately something that I very much doubt will ever be explained. One of those: did it or didn’t it? Musa could have called and went straight to voicemail with no signs of life from Riven or she might not have called and just expected him to call as if feminism were dead and all initiative must come from the guy (which doesn’t even fit because they parted as friends).

Since we have no info on the above, I put it on both of them. It’s not fair to say, “HE should have called!” or “Why didn’t SHE call?” because we don’t have fricking context. So the only thing we can take is: no contact.

BECAUSE I put the lack of contact on both of them, Musa’s reaction was a little too much, however, Riven shows up all smirks and leaning against a tree with his arms crossed and I would have flashbacks to S1 if it wasn’t for the animation style that made all the guys look like girls. Dude! Not the time for that kind of posture. Not saying that he should be all sheepish and rubbing his arm as if he had done something horrible (again: we don’t have context on the no contact) but a more neutral approach was warranted here. Nobody does themselves any favors with that kind of attitude no matter what how high of a horse they may be (rightly or not) riding on, if anything I would react like Musa solely on that one.

Next episode we have that Riven convinced the guys to follow the girls in some mission and Musa was angry. Again: I would be too. WTH? Yes, yes, they helped and if it wasn’t for them, the Winx would gotten seriously injured but Musa did have a point saying that this demonstrated that they had no trust in them and need their hand held, it was no sanctioned mission like on Earth after all. BUT, Riven does something that I would never expect from in S1-4: he explains, he reasons it, he puts it in all the words that he does trust Musa and co and that he only wanted to show that he’d be there for her (you know? One of the main issues in S6 that made them breakup in the first place? His inability to conciliate Specialist work with supporting his girlfriend and ultimately failing or feeling like failing in both?) and Musa still pouts, crosses her arms, and turns around. Geez. I expected that one from Stella, not Musa. I think the closest Musa has ever come to THIS was back in S2 when Jared explains that Riven was the one to recommend that he interview Musa and yada yada yada and she got mad and stomped off on the poor guy that didn’t even understand what was going on (only to immediately apologize to Jared and recognizing that it wasn’t him that she was mad at… like I said: what character growth?).

Riven then goes to show that he indeed grew when he asked for advice from Sky and Brandon (WTH, right? Can we picture that happening back in S1-3? He very grudgingly would LISTEN to UNSOLICITED advice from Nabu and Helia in S4-6). And does a very, very goofy and embarrassing show of affection. Yeah… again… I can picture Stella loving the light show with her face for IDK how many people to see but not Musa (although can we really blame the guy after the series went out of its way to make Musa all Stella-like? Clothes, attitude, the only thing missing is making Riven carry her shopping bags around and call him “Shnookums” (although the mental image is already enough for me to fall over laughing, just for the face Riven would make). Still, I have to count that one against Riven if only because (as much as the show gives only lip service to it) Musa isn’t Stella.

Riven being mind controlled (again) aside, those two are back together. And on the overall? Riven showed more growth than any other character in the show COMBINED (he is the Zuko of the show), that doesn’t go to say that he didn’t make mistakes since coming back in S8 (but that was more a guy trying to win back a girl than… betraying his friends for a pair of nice legs or… IDEK like in S1 – where, mind control or not the show itself made sure to make it clear that he had free will) or that he is now the one out of Musa’s league. I think that NOW it can actually work… if the show allows him to keep the progress, Musa is the next to see her flaws and work on them (which she showed to be able to do since S2) and put effort in the relationship. The difference between them is that Musa can actually work on herself and the relationship at the same time. That’s not me saying she is better than Riven in any way, everybody has their own pace and their own way to cope, to improve and to self-reflect.

I still root for them.

PS-IDK why, but I read posts about how Riven changed so much and posts about how all his progress disappeared and he is now back to his S1 attitude and I’m just cofused. Yeah, different of opinions and so on, but such opposite opinions on the subject of a guy whose relationship was focused on three episodes?

How to have mismatched eye color in any picrew: a tutorial

At the bottom I give a quick overview (but not a specific tutorial) of how you can also make various other things that are almost never available in picrews, some of these are harder than others: Other forms of Heterocromia, Inner eye ring colors, Custom scars, Custom skin tone variations (can make vitiligo, granted the picrew creator added enough skin variations), Custom hair color streaks

Hate when you choose the perfect picrew, but your oc has some form of heterocromia and the picrew won’t let you show that?

Here’s a quick trick to fix it, with zero artistic talent required.

Everything we need is already in the picrew! We’re just going to use a simple layer trick to merge 2 of the same picrew

This will be user friendly for people who have no experience with digital art and will be done using a free mobile app. (Since most people don’t have computer drawing apps if they aren’t into digital art)

Needed: a picrew you like, a free digital art app (I’m going to use ibis paint X for this tutorial)

The link to the picrew I’ll be using for this. No orange eye color though, the one thing I needed lmao

Step 1:

Save two versions of the same picrew with differing eye colors in each as the only difference.

In my experience, the picrew stays built when you re-enter the link. So, just build it and save it as normal, then it will still be there and you can change the eye color before saving the second copy.

Your copies should look about like this: it’s important to keep the rest of picrew as a copy except for the eye color. The fewer differences, the easier it will be.

Step 2:

Ok, now the hardest part is over! Drawing apps can look scary if you’re not used to them, but it will be ok.

When we open IbisPaint X it will look like this:

You want to select ‘My gallery” and then hit the plus sign at the bottom left hand corner. You’ll then be given this menu:

Now this looks like a mess, butttt you’re just going to ignore it all and click import picture. You can then choose 1 of the picrew’s from your gallery. Don’t worry it doesn’t matter which you choose.

You will be prompted with this notification:

Cancel this. This will turn the work into lineart or something I’m not sure tbh. Not familiar with this app. But it will mess up our picrew. Accidentally did it? No problem! Just close the app and go back through the menu

Step 3:

So, now you have this:

We’re ready to overlap it with the other picrew we made!

I’m running out of the 10 photos per post, I’ll try to still give a visual for each step though. Hope it’s not confusing

1- First we’re going to hit the ‘layers’ symbol at the bottom right

2- here we can see the layers, this app seems to automatically make a new layer for a new picture, so don’t worry about any of this! Select the add photo button and choose your picrew with the opposite eye color of the 1st

3- Dont mess with these settings, just push the green check! We don’t want to move the picture since we’re relying on them being directly on top of each other

4- cancel the lineart thing again

5- Now we have 2 layers, each with 1 version of your picrew

6- you can just tap above this menu to close it. It should appear as though our picrew has changed eye color.

Step 4:

Now for the fun part! We’re going to erase one of the eyes on this top layer to reveal the other color underneath!

1- We’re going to switch from pen to eraser using this button in the bottom left hand corner.

2- For the best precision, we’re going to want to zoom in towards the eye that isn’t supposed to be the current color (we can zoom in by placing two fingers on the canvas and pulling them apart. Idk what this is called. Reverse piniching?) The other thing we’re going to do is make the eraser smaller by sliding the top slider to the left.

3- Now we’re ready to erase! Carefully erase over the eye and it will change color. Be careful not the erase the other eye, or it will change color as well. If you make a mistake, the undo button is towards the top of the canvas

4- all done! Just gotta save it now. Push the button in the bottom right corner

5- When the menu comes up, you want to save as a normal PNG. Now it’s in your gallery!

Step 5:

Done!

It doesn’t look edited at all! Because it’s really not, we just combined two of the same art in different colors. No one would ever guess. It still has the same dimensions and everything!

Other stuff you can do with this trick:

Although some of these take a lot more careful erasing, these shouldn’t require any actual drawing. You can use these basics to experiment with this stuff as well:

- A different colored ring around the middle of the eyes: put the middle color on the bottom layer and erase around the pupil carefully in a circle with a very small eraser brush size.

- eyes that are half colored, in a line down the middle (a form of heterocromia): layer order doesn’t matter, erase half of each eye carefully, depending on which color should be where.

- a color streak through the hair: this one will require careful erasing to look good. You’ll need a picrew where the hair is entirely the color of the streak, and a picrew with the surrounding hair color. Put the color streak layer on the bottom layer. Erase the top layer in the shape of the streak you want colored. You can place it anywhere. You can do this with faded hair tips as well, but how well that turns out will depend on the color difference the creator had between similar hair colors... in other words, if dark and light brown are closer together in color value, it will look more natural when you merge them. I would recommend putting the lighter hair color layer on the bottom. When you erase, you’ll be drawing where the highlights are, functionally the same as the color streak.

- you can make uneven skin tones or vitiligo if the creator has added enough skin tone variations to the picrew: to make vitiligo you’ll make a picrew with your lightest skin tone and a picrew with your darkest skin tone. You’ll put the lightest skin tone on the bottom layer. Then you’ll erase the top layer in the pattern where skin pigment has been lost. You’ll be able to control the pattern of color loss like this, and make any pattern you want! This layer order works best for putting light patches on darker skin. If you want to darken an area you’ll put the darker layer down first and erase the top layer with lighter skin into the pattern you want. Essentially: put light down first if you want to put a light pattern on dark skin. Put dark down first if you want to put a dark pattern on light skin

-custom scars if the creator has added enough skin tone variations to the picrew: this is the same idea as skin tone variations. This time though, we need a picrew with a pink tone skin color choice, a lighter one than the character’s skin tone can also work if you want silver scars. Make a picrew with normal skin tone for the character, and a picrew with the scar color. Put the scar color picrew down first, then add the normal tone one. Now when you erase it should make scars in any pattern you want!

If you’re having trouble erasing neatly, the answer is always to zoom in on the canvas and decrease the eraser brush size! Also you can undo and redo until it looks how you want!

That’s all I can think of right now! Hope everyone has fun making those OC’s that the picrews always seem to forget. And especially anyone who’s been left out themselves!

I must say an old songfic I wrote ages ago. It got anyone who read it to tears. I'll translate it to English someday, maybe. But I'll say "(Oh no) Here we go again" which is a Bechloe fic I wrote for Bechloe week 2018 that literally got me giggling the whole time. I don't remember if the crack in that one was due to lack of sleep or if it was because I was drunk.. but I love that one with all my being 😂😂😂 And in the Marvel fandom, I'll say "Wrap your arms around me (like we're supposed to be)" (Linked above) which is a Wanda x Reader fic. And I already have ideas to turn it into a series/AU.

Omfg. I can't pick, dude. Why you hate me so much???

1) This Wanda x Reader drabble I wrote not long ago. I was crying while writing it because it hit deep and I could relate somehow to it.

2) Tell me you still want me (I've been fucking lonely). It's a Nat x Reader fic that got me taking my brains while I was trying to come up with the right words to make justice to the story I wanted to tell. And it turned out really great!

3) Wrap your love around me (like we're supposed to be). This was just the right mix of fluff and angst in 1127 words. I'm enamored with this idea I'm developing.

4) Little do you know (I'll love you till the sun dies). It's a Mitchsen fic I wrote ages ago. I really enjoyed writing that one. It just.. idk. It felt perfect.

5) I'm not fine and I'm in pain (it's harder everyday). It's another Wanda x Reader fic that.. some think I'm not nice because I kinda hurt their hearts. Lmao. I really enjoyed writing this one and yes, I hurt myself too.

4. What do you think makes your style distinctly yours?

Uhhh, I'm honestly not sure about this one. I guess is the fact that I just started to write reader insert fics this year, so I can't really connect with the person reading it. I always wrote about others. The characters were already known and despite changing a few things here and there, their essence was the same. And when it comes to reader insert stories, you have to really work for that connection. You have to really mold whatever your OC is feeling/experiencing to engage with the person reading them.

@princeescaluswords tagged me in a fanfic ask meme, and I’m loling at how few of the questions I can actually answer, because I swear I’ve literally forgotten more fandoms than most people will ever have. And I’ve probably written a good couple million words of fanfic all in total....

I know with just my first fandom alone, Roswell, I was in that one writing regularly for about three years and wrote and published probably a million words between the six or so ‘big fics’ I wrote......21 Down topped out at just over 200K, my Paradise Lost trilogy was probably a little longer as I think Genesis and Exodus were both around 80K and Revelations was probably closer to 100K. Riders of the Storm was around 120K.....Passage to Dawn I never actually finished because I scrapped it halfway through and started over.....and my revised version left off at around 50K I think, but the previous version before that had gotten up to 100K......and then I honestly can’t remember the names of my other two big fics at the moment, lmfao, I just know I had one more that was an amnesia trope fic and one that was....oh! Never mind, just remembered. The Long Dark Night of the Soul was one of my shorter ones, probably somewhere between 60-80K.

But yeah, that was just my first fandom alone......but fandom was a little different then, like in the sense that nobody was really writing posts about meta or episode or character analysis......Roswell fandom existed almost entirely on various messageboards and linked sites created by the community. It was years before Ao3 of course, and while ff.net was around, Roswell was one of those fandoms that just never congregated around it......people posting Roswell fics on ff.net were the outliers, the majority of fandom was centered around sites like roswellfanatics.net, crashdown.com and my personal site/board of choice to hang out and post at, polarattraction.com. I’m pretty sure all of those sites have been defunct for years, and I wish I’d done a better job of saving some of my own fics at least, lol. But point is, the fandom was geared just towards the writing and consumption of fanfic more than anything else......so if you were writing something, it was either a fic itself, or a comment on somebody else’s fic, lol. 

Anyway, was just reviewing my various past fandoms, the ones I could remember, and thought of Dark Angel fandom, which I haven’t thought of in forever. Which is kinda funny to me, actually, considering my focus in DA fandom was pretty much exactly my focus in Batfandom - the found family feels.

LOL. Like, I was never one of the better known writers in DA fandom given that my focus was not really the same as most of fandom’s. DA fandom was largely split into two camps locked in eternal ship war - Logan/Max and Alec/Max. I had by this time ‘evolved’ to the point of looking at this and just snobbishly intoning “I do not care for the Straightness of this all and thus I choose to Abstain from the conflict” so there was that at least.....but yeah, thing was, personally, I was in Dark Angel fandom for the found family feels. Max’s eternal search for her siblings she’d been raised with but lost track of when they escaped from Manticore as children.....like that was the good stuff, that was what drew me in and kept me under lock and key until I’d banged out a good couple years’ worth of constant fic writing about her and her siblings before I moved on.

But while Max’s search for her siblings was the catalyst and central plot of the first season of Dark Angel, fandom pretty much only ever took off with the introduction of Alec in the second season, when it became an either/or choice between Alec and Logan. And with most of the second season moving away from Max’s search for her family to focus more on the larger big-picture plots, combined with the fact that most of Max’s siblings never actually made an appearance onscreen.....understandably, they didn’t end up occupying too much of a role in most of fandoms’ fics or interests.

Anyway, like I said, I churned out a shit ton of DA fanfic in a pretty short period of time....my single most popular fic was probably one about transgenics racing to find a cure when they realize they’d been genetically engineered to all ‘expire’ by a certain age, since their creators had no use for genetically engineered super-soldiers past the prime of their lives.

But my personal fave bits of writing, and the series I reeeeeeally regret not saving and wish I could find again, like, there was this one series of one-shots (ranging from a couple thousand words long to some that were about 20-30K long) written about each of Max’s siblings.....all fifteen of them, lol. Jondy’s was the first one I wrote, and one of the first things I wrote in that fandom, and then I just added new stories to that particular series up until Jack’s, the very last one a couple years later....which I THINK was the last thing I ever wrote/posted in that fandom.

And since we only ever met about half of these characters on the show, and most of them only for an episode each, for the most part they were blank slates and the equivalent of writing OCs......and so I’ll always have a soft spot for my time in DA fandom solely because of how many people told me my version of Max’s various siblings was like, the definitive version for them and what they based their own fics or takes on her siblings on. Swoon. Like, that’s my favorite kind of compliment, especially in fanfic writing.

So that series was my Big Thing even if it wasn’t my most popular or well-known fic, and the various stories in it were weird and whimsical and largely experimental. Because part of the point of fic writing for me instead of writing original fic is its like....fanfic is often the place where I just get weird with my writing and try new things even just stylistically. See what works and what doesn’t, etc.

Anyway, kinda curious if there’s anyone out there who was in Dark Angel fandom at all to any degree, or if any of these sound familiar or if anyone remembers reading them.

Like, so Jondy was Max’s sister who we never met in canon but Max talked about often as being her favorite sibling, and her story in this series was called “Little Lightning Girl.” In it she was a stripper slash vigilante, who used her job to take note of predatory guys who then she preemptively scared away from her coworkers or ran totally out of town. I forget how it went exactly, but that one was written as though it was all her stream of consciousness, and she had to my mind a kind of chaotic, whimsical sort of nature, so there was something in there like: 

“Call me little lightning girl, for I’ve lightning in my veins. My hair is always frizzy, my steps all flicker-shimmy-shake. But when I strike, boom, clap, I’m thunder in reverse - by the time you hear the rumble, its already too late. That was you hitting the ground. Don’t hurry getting up. I can wait.”

And then Zane’s story was called “Zen and the Art of Not Breaking Your Customer’s Fucking Face (remember, its bad for business).”

Brin’s was “I Wasn’t Born Yesterday (but yesterday, I remember being very small).”

Zack’s was “Rules For When The Sky Is Falling (and this time it isn’t your fault).”

Syl’s was “The Kind of Girl You Bring Home to Meet Your Parents (when you’ve got the kind of parents that need killing).”

Ben’s was “They keep telling me I’m crazy (I say its the world that’s gone mad).”

Tinga’s was “A Storybook Kind of Princess (with a Grimm kind of happily ever after)” and Krit’s was “The Good Die Young, So Boy, You Better Be Bad.”

Kavi’s was “I Never Learned How To Play Ball (striking out comes naturally).”

Vada’s was “Chase Me To The Desert and Watch Me Live, I Bet I’ll Thrive (you better believe I was born to survive).”

And then Seth’s was “All Her Brothers’ Keeper (you keep your secrets and I’ll keep the watch).”

And though technically not escapees with the rest of them, I am anal and a completionist, so of course I had to write ones for Eva, Jack and Jace too. 

Eva’s was “Big Sisters Know Best (so when I say I’ll die for you, just say thank you and live).” 

Jace’s was “Leopards Never Change Their Spots (but why worry about my 5% leopard when I’m 10% shark). 

And Jack’s was “Shelter The Innocent (but don’t look at the boy without shelter and say that boy, he’s no good).”

Anyway, been randomly thinking about those today now. Well, not randomly since I can follow the train of thought that led me to thinking about them, but you know what I mean. Its just kinda funny to me that I do remember those particular stories so well when there’s entire other fandoms I can barely remember writing in at all. And DA fandom wasn’t even one I was in all that long, ever knew too many other people in, or like....idk. I definitely, definitely have written much more well read and frequently commented upon stories than that fairly random little series of almost-OCs, but for some reason it stuck around in my head a lot longer and a lot more clearly than a ton of other stuff.

My Heroine (Michael Langdon x fem!OC)— ix. the darker it gets

Hey hi, back at it again with another part! I’m having a lot of fun writing this, despite me taking literally over a year to only have ten full parts written. Staying inspired to write is hard and idk how most of you do it tbh. Anyways, hopefully this part will make more sense than the last (lol). Catch up here if you haven’t already! 

Warnings: depictions of violence, lots of religious imagery, Arella is generally p feisty/angsty in this one 

Arella continued down the sidewalk, her heels tapping rhythmically against the pavement. She kept up her pace, not even glancing back as Michael called for her. The conversation that had just occurred between the two of them freaked her out, though she was determined to ensure that Michael didn't see this. The slight upper hand she had gained on him had been a pleasant turn of events, and she wouldn't allow things to swing back the other way.

She couldn't help but snap at him, closing herself off as he explained himself. But it wasn't anger that caused the reaction this time; it was blatant fear.

She knew exactly what he meant.

The feeling that the words weren't hers, even though they were clearly coming out in her voice. Feeling as though she was being manipulated into saying things she otherwise wouldn't. She understood it all.

And it terrified her, producing a frigid chill that coursed through her and made a home in her bones.

But maybe this was Michael's intention; these strange happenings did ultimately begin to transpire after their very first meeting in the bar nearly two months prior. Perhaps it wasn't a coincidence, and all of this was just his sick way of fucking with her head. There had been an evident power struggle between them since the beginning, and he didn't seem to be one who would give up his hold on it that easily. She was quite cognizant of his kind, those with superiority complexes so substantial that any loss of sovereignty could cause them to spiral.

The way Michael seemingly submitted, all arrogance gone as if he was no longer the same person, did not make logical sense.

The entirety of the situation, and Michael in general, did not make sense. Nearly every brain cell was screaming at her to run, to never look back. When her eyes met his, vibrant red danger signs flashed in her mind. This boy was going to bring her nothing but trouble, and the overwhelming sense she had of this was palpable. She could feel it in her chest as her heart threatened to pound through her rib cage. She could taste it on her tongue, feel its nails clawing at her throat.

Run.

Run.

Get away.

She was moving faster now, the clicking of her heels growing louder, less balanced. Her fingers reached up to her neck, wrapping around the cross that hung there so tightly she could feel it pierce into her palm. She was hot, feverish almost as she glanced over her shoulder, almost half-expecting Michael to be there. When he wasn't, she breathed a sigh of relief, her hand falling to her side as she looked forward again.

If Michael intended to drive her mad, it was working, she thought, becoming irritated with herself more than anything.

Unaware of where she was headed, if anywhere at all, she allowed her subconscious to provide guidance. It always took her to where she needed to be. Pulling her hood low on her forehead, she let her mind to go blank, counting the number of steps in between each block of concrete.

One, two, three, one, two, three, four, one, two, three...

Shortly after, she stopped at the bottom of a massive set of stairs. Sighing, she ascended them hastily, yanking open the heavy doors at their peak. After removing her hood, she smoothed her hair down as she took in the dimly lit room. It was completely empty this time of night, the tapping of her boots noisily echoing as she made her way to the front pew. As she took a seat, her eyes settled on the large crucifix before her.

If anyone could help her, it was him. She allowed her eyes to fall shut, lips moving in a silent prayer as she clasped her hands on her lap.

But she couldn't stop thinking of Michael. She couldn't stop thinking about what he said, how she was desperate to fulfill her parents' image of her. How all of it was a lie.

Seems like bullshit to me, Michael's words murmured in her mind.

Maybe it was bullshit, she wondered, but promptly shoved these thoughts away as she began muttering a prayer aloud.

"I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth," she spoke, squeezing her eyes shut.

You come here, pleading to god, pleading he'll put you on the right path, his articulate statements came again.

"And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit," she continued, her tone growing louder.

Let me tell you something.

"Born of the Virgin Mary," her voice cracked.

He's not listening.

"He descended into hell," she could no longer think straight, the saccharine intonations in her mind taking over.

He's not listening.

He's not listening.

He's not listening.

Was he? She wondered, the chorus in her mind ceasing all at once, leaving her in a deafening silence. The only sound was her breaths as she attempted to even them out.

The longer she sat there, the quiet atmosphere hanging uncomfortably around her, the more she believed Michael's words. Arella had spent much of her life struggling to correspond to the expectations her parents had for her, but none of it was ever enough. She had a temper, she was much too loud for a little girl, too stubborn, too bossy, and for heaven's sake, why couldn't she just take things for what they were without arguing about it?

She yearned for something different, to be free of the constraints placed on her since she was a child. And here Michael was, literally offering a chance at that. She was well aware of how wrong it was, the ache she had for him, but she was finding it harder and harder to resist.

Arella was beginning to hate herself as she swiftly proceeded down the steps and onto the sidewalk once again. A chill had descended, and she shoved her hands deep into her pockets as she headed back in the direction of where she parked her car. Sliding her phone out, she was almost tempted to get an Uber back to the cafe.

Stupid, she thought to herself, tapping on the screen with her nearly frozen fingers.

She didn't have a chance to react as she collided with someone walking the opposite way. Slightly startled, she stepped back, going to move around them. Fingers grasped her left arm as her phone was taken out of her right hand. Her gaze drifted from the hand clutching her arm up to the face of its owner.

"You should watch where you're going, baby. Never know the kinds of people you could run into on these streets," the stranger spoke, a malicious smile forming across his features. He was still holding her phone above her head, a chuckle leaving his lips.

She smiled sweetly at him, juxtaposing the rage she could already feel amplifying, scraping at her chest, begging to be free. "You shouldn't have done that."

"What?" He questioned her, sneering. "What are you going to do about it, little girl?"

She wouldn't— couldn't— swallow it any longer, burning white-hot behind her eyelids until her irises were nearly black. Blatant ignorance was one thing, but condescension she refused to tolerate.

She tilted her head slightly to one side. A cracking sound resonated as each of his fingers were removed from its grip, bending unnaturally backwards.

"What the fuck?" the man exclaimed, falling to the pavement below him. "What did you do to me?"

"You're right," a final crack came from the arm holding her phone. Crouching down, she plucked it out of his hand. "You don't know the kinds of people you could run into on these streets. You should really be more careful."

She smirked down at him as he cradled his arm in his broken fingers, tears streaming down his face now. She stood back up, continuing on her way as she ignored the cries coming from behind her.

She knew exactly how she was going to handle Michael and the whole situation.

Maybe God was listening after all.

My Tumblr History (feat. a LOT of rambling, I apologize)

I’ve been on Tumblr 9 years. I came to Tumblr from Xanga (which IDK if that’s even still a thing or not) after being thoroughly obsessed with latter for about 4 or so years. Xanga was much more of a typical blog blog, and though I interacted with far less people on it, those few I did became honest to god friends that I still think about to this day. Though, as years past, my few friends began to drop off one by one from the site and I found myself enjoying it much less once they were gone. Eventually, I left too.

A few months later, I decided to join Tumblr. It was still a fairly new site in 2010 when I had joined, and I had only heard a few things here and there around the internet before I decided to check it out myself. When I first started, I used this site a lot like I used Xanga and basically had it exclusively as an internet journal to talk about life and nerdy shit and the like (I remember even thinking the reblog option was dumb because why not just make your own content? Why reblog other peoples stuff? loooool) and also did a lot of those writing daily challenges. Do you guys remember those? I loved them. Anyway...

Needless to say as time went on and I got older and followed more people and gained more followers (some of you have been here from very early on and for that I am incredibly thankful) as dweeby as this may sound, I really grew as a person. God, I remember 9 years ago I would sometimes post uncredited art or really insensitive, not funny at all, “jokes” because I honestly didn’t see a problem with them (and the only reason I really remember these awful things is occasionally once in a blue moon random people would find them in the bowels of my blog and like them and I would shudder and delete them). I kinda started Tumblr as this young social media doofus that, again as cheesy as it sounds, learned a lot and grew from my experience here. I would never dream of posting uncredited art now, and those “jokes” make me want to vomit. I learned a lot about social issues through this blog and it also helped me open up and learn about my sexuality. I got to see a broader world view from all different walks of life here (which was incredibly refreshing after growing up in a very close knit predominately white republican community) , and met some fantastic humans I’m blessed to have interacted with and become their friend. I never would have met them without this site!

Not to mention just like... all the cool shit. There are SO many talented people on Tumblr. So much beautiful art, fantastic writing, and just all round hilarious and interesting humans that I loved to get even a small peak into their lives and learn about them and what they like and do for fun. I’ve picked up hobbies through this site, joined fandoms through this site, made friends, laughed endlessly, become inspired, found some of my favorite anime/books/movies, and have had so much fun in these nine years on Tumblr.

... Not to say that it hasn’t been without it’s bad. I’ve been here long enough to remember when Tumblr users proudly boasted about how open and inviting to any and all people they were, how they would never point fingers, be mean, or turn others away. Boy, how that has changed looool. I’ve been through the annoying but innocent enough superwholocks and the scandals of older users who used to be Tumblr royalty that fucked up in some way and fell from grace, to the disgrace of people who are totally fine humans that didn’t completely cater to exactly what certain people wanted or made a few wrong steps that people felt like they had to attack them viciously for the littlest asinine shit. The good the bad and the ugly, all the way through to now.

To be frank, this entire site has been a disaster for a loooooooooong time with a staff that seems to be equal mix of not knowing at all how to run a functioning site and not giving a shit at all about it’s user base and their feelings (which reeeeeeeally sucks for all the fantastic content creators and people who have been here forever who have essentially made this site what it is). Little things like ‘oh we made an update that ‘everyone’ will love but is actually dumb as hell and just pisses people off’ to their have been porn bots, pedos, and nazis on this site for YEARS terrorizing people and being awful but guess that is just how it will be... Until they got banned from the app store and THEN it’s an issue (because they lost money ofc)!

Suddenly, Tumblr staff cares, but only for themselves. Instead of actually resolving the issue THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND IS AN EXTREMELY WELL KNOW AND COMPLAINED ABOUT ISSUE they just decide fuck it, punish everyone. No “porn” at all, but I use that term lightly because they say some nudity is allowed (don’t get me started on female presenting nipples it also makes me laugh to hard and then I won’t be able to type) and for some reason apparently written erotica is allowed (which makes absolutely zero sense if you are truly trying to make this a ‘family friendly’ site, why is visual porn not allowed but written OK?) but... Is it really? Posts that are completely innocent are getting tagged left and right as not suitable content. Like, thousands of posts are getting tagged by whatever stupid algorithm they are using that are completely void of anything remotely sexual and you expect me to believe your incompetent asses are going to go through them and deem which are OK and which aren’t based on you shoddy stupid ass new rules? Fuck that. 

And all the sex workers and people and run side blogs and NSFW art blogs and the like are just completely screwed (no pun intended). It upsets me because like... Porn blogs have never been the issue. There are definitely some horrible ones, no denying that, but for the most part they just stayed in their lane and interacted with other porn blogs. They weren’t the issue (And, if Tumblr knew at all how to create a damn site, they wouldn’t have been an issue at all if the damn safe mode toggle actually worked like it was supposed to). The ungodly amount of bots is the fucking issue. I can tell you right now, I have over a thousand followers and I am in no way kidding when I say half of those are porn bots that I just gave up reporting because I get like, 3 of them following me a week on average. It’s ridiculous! Also, ACTUAL FUCKING CHILD PORN? THAT IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE EVEN WHEN NOT LOOKING UP ANYTHING NSFW (which I very unfortunately know through experience)? And to top it all off, fucking NAZIS who for some reason are still allowed to spew their bullshit on this site??? Is this a nightmare?

So with all this happening, I believe it’s pretty safe to say Tumblr’s days are numbered. It makes me laugh and cry, it’s something you could see coming a mile away and yet something that you didn’t think would actually happen. I don’t want to leave Tumblr. I love you guys (the users not the staff). You have all brought joy and enrichment to my life and I am so grateful I got to be here with you. I also just like a lot of nuances of tumblr, like the fact I can read an entry so powerful and moving it brings me to tears and then just one post underneath is an over baked nonsensical cat meme which has me wheezing for reasons I can’t quite explain. I can be anonymous and as weird as I want to here without having to really worry about family, coworkers, or older friends seeing it and being like WTF is wrong with you, what does all this mean??? I like how my blog looks and how I can bitch in the tags and chat with my friends and message people and talk about my oc’s and randoms interests and get pointers and learn new things and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I love Tumblr. I don’t want to leave and don’t necessarily plan to. But then again, I said they same thing about Xanga, and if Tumblr keeps going in the way it is going... I’m not sure I really truly  want to be lumped in with that. :/

Now this has already been entirely too long (and honestly I’m kind of feeling how I did when I started this blog in 2010 lul) but lemme say this: Thanks guys, I had a whole lot of fun. And if I do end up leaving sometime in the maybe not to distant future know that I will always be lurking around somewhere on the internet, and I had the best time while I was here. I wish nothing but the best for all of you, and may we all be able to remain a happy and dysfunctional little group, if not here, somewhere much better.

Creator 2k17 Tag

I thought now would be a good time to do this since I’ve gotten 2 tags for it and I’m about to hopefully get back into the swing of drawing (for myself) and writing my fics! 

This year, despite the shit that happened, was by far the best creative year for me in my whole life. Since I had to withdraw from my college classes 2 months after enrolling in October of last year, while I’ve gotten back on my feet health-wise this year, it’s given me more time than ever to work on my art and writing. I think I can say that I’ve improved the most with both of those things this year than any other year in my life just due to the fact that I haven’t been in school and I’ve just been working. This year, I was able to continue The Northern Theatre, which I had started December 22, 2014... and holy shit I completely missed it but it just passed its third birthday ;A; omg

It was on hiatus, only having posted 2 chapters in 2015 and 2016, until I came back to tumblr this past February, where it picked back up again. Nearly a year later, it has one final chapter that I will be starting in the next few days. Thank you to @the-flame-and-hawks-eye and @tsaritsa for tagging me, I appreciate it <3

The Northern Theatre [LivMiles longfic] - I feel like I’ve already talked about this one enough, but this fucking fic is my child. I started it because I had always loved the ship and the whole Briggs arc, but while most conflicts in FMAB are solved by the end, we never see what happens with Briggs and Drachma. Drachma was pitifully defeated in order to carve the crest of blood, and I always thought like.. so was that the end of it? It couldn’t be, right?

Long story short, this was initially based off of roleplays I had with my irl best friend plus a few things from back when I was an Olivier mun on here a few years ago. It’s by far been my longest project to date, and even back when I was young, writing original fiction, I never finished a single idea-- so this will be the longest and the first. If you decide to look at one thing on this list, I’d ask that it be this one, because this is the work I put my blood, sweat, and tears into, and in one chapter, it’ll be complete. It’s just been my biggest love and my biggest heartbreak to work on at the same time, but there’s always been a few people who have stuck with and supported me and my dumb headcanons and dumb ocs all the way through and I love you guys so much :’)

The Northern Theatre Cover [art] - This fucker took like 3 weeks to do because I wanted it to be in a different style than I usually draw, like more painted. There’s still a lot I’d love to fix but overall I still really love it, and I like how several of my friends are able to identify everyone who’s on it :’) I toyed with the colors of the sky for longer than I should because I really wanted it to reflect the tone of the fic, especially during the Drachman Infiltration, which is about when I was working on this cover. I took a lot of inspiration from The Hobbit movies, since half the time, their journey seems like it is all for naught, and while they foresee death and failure, they know they have to continue on. I eventually settled on the muted blue-gray, and I think it fits really well. I may do like extra covers in the future but I don’t think I’ll ever fully redo this one since I really still love it deep down

LivMiles Week Day 5 --- Free AU / Mermaid AU [art] - This was the first thing I fully finished on my new iPad, so it was kind of a big deal for me I guess?? I still really like the idea a lot and I pretty much like how it turned out... I may write a drabble about this someday since I think the idea is cute, idk haha

Princess Cafe Olivier [art] - Idk I just like this one a whole lot. I tried a new lineart and shading style and while I can’t seem to get a hold of the lineart and I haven’t found an easy way to do some of the shading in Procreate, I still try to adopt the shading style in my current works I think it’s working pretty well.

Missing [LivMiles fic] - i like babies and this was happy fluff

Mun Opinions....

On OCs

I like OCs. I respect OCs, although I find it interesting that it’s rather taboo to say that “I don’t like this character.” Granted I think part of it is because you’re not just watching a movie or reading a book and being like ‘this character sucks’ in the privacy of your own home (or wherever you’re reading), far from the ears its creator, who will never know your feelings of their character providing you’re not a book reviewer of renown or the kinda asshole to seek the author out on social media. Anyway, my point is, I totally get the social difficulty of it, right? You don’t wanna tell the person in question that you don’t like their character because that character is their baby and yet...the same can’t always be said for canon characters getting the same courtesy. So it’s a weird double standard. However, I think it’s the only thing that OCs have over CCs. I have a lot of respect for people who write OCs because you know, OCs don’t get the same amount of attention and yet are held at much higher standards than CCs. I have one myself and it feels like an uphill battle half the time when I’m trying to get people interested in her as opposed to drumming up interest for John or Luke. Idk, man. Its hard and it sucks and I don’t know how to even begin to suggest on how to fix it. I have to wonder if it’s some holdover prejudice from fan fiction. OCs in a prominent role in fanfic were rarely well regarded and since RPing is like next level fanfic, I think, even if it’s subconscious, the attitude has been carried over from the realms of fanfic.

On exclusivity

I’ve loosened up to a degree on exclusivity overall but I still retain the preference with ship partners. There’s a certain intimacy to shipping that I believe lends itself to the concept. Anyway, I will never understand multi-shipping with the same character. While I understand that everyone has different ways of portraying a certain character, and how it could be interesting to explore different kinds of relationships with iterations of the same character, I also get exhausted by the idea of having to keep everything in line and compartmentalized. Also how don’t feelings overlap? Like for example, it would be really weird for me to write a platonic or even antagonistic interaction with a different version of a character I’m shipping John with because like the feelings are there now, the association within John’s development. I can’t flip the switch, and maybe that makes me a bad writer, but that’s how it is for me. I don’t judge people who can compartmentalize. I mean, good for them, they’re living their truth, but my truth is that I personally can’t.

On tumblr

I think it’s fascinating that this strange blogging platform has become the blogging platform for fandom. Although I suppose that’s more a reflection of how much smaller social media has become. Like, year and years ago (now I realize but it doesn’t feel that long ago but lmao holy shit there’s fanfic I wrote in 2005 floating around out there) it felt like there was more variety out there. Yeah, you had LiveJournal, but I mean, there were plenty of other clones out there, certainly enough that you could find a new home for your blog when the great purge happened back in like...I wanna say 2005 or 2006. There was roving pack of fandom bloggers trying to find a new home. A lot of us ended up on Dreamwidth, which I still think is a shame it never really took off because it was a fantastic, superior LJ clone. It was the same way with fanfic sites. There was a time that folks posted on several different sites or posted different stories on different sites. Ao3 is pretty much the only place it bothers with. Like now if tumblr became unusable where would we go? Would we go back to writing fanfic? I know those of us who RP on chat servers like Discord and Skype would probably just do it there or on RP Now! But what about the blogging experience itself? I mean, I’d probably try to lure friends to Dreamwidth but aside from that???? Idk. It’s a troubling notion. As for the community, it can be frustrating. I personally think part of it for me is that I’m old and tired and a lot of RPers and tumblr bloggers are much younger and hungrier than me and I remember what it was like. I used to argue and fight with people on the internet over both serious and petty things, though mostly petty. Waaaayyyyyy back in the day, when I was in my early twenties, I used to passionately argue on a Hellsing forum about ships (in fact on that particular forum there was a violent shipping war) and mediums (this was in the time before the OVA and the other Hellsing anime was all we had aside from the manga and there was a strong divide between “mangaverse” and “animeverse” fans), and I’m so embarrassed to think about how ugly I could be about my judgements on complete strangers’ opinions on something so small. I guess what I’m trying to say is that sometimes the tumblr community, particularly the RPC can be a scary place, but at the same time...like...it’s nothing new. The internet, particularly fandom, has always been a cesspool of drama. I mean geez. Remember Fandom Wank?

Reine is a mechanic who developed weapons for Mizuki, the Supporter. He lost both of his left eye and arm during an accident that killed his best friend. Said best friend is now his ghost buddy.-Tia Erufe is a were-fox, or were-youko should be correct. Child of European were-wolf and a Japanese youko. She was shot by a hunter when training to transform into a baby fox. She has a phobia of gunshot noises now.-Dia Armando is my Ace Attorney OC. Fanmade child of Mia Fey and Diego Armando. This child is armless due to congenital problem when Mia was found out pregnant with outsider and the village elders tried to use drug that either give her abortion/made her a female Spirit Channeler. Those medicines affected her fetal development. While the armless issue isn't an issue to her, she is extremely pyrophobic due to an incident in her orphanage and seeing Godot's past in Case 3-5 from the game.-As a deaf-mute child since birth, Budheg is often bullied. But this doesn't concern him, he is more worried about the well-being of his pokemon. Professor Juniper saw his compassion and affectionate towards his partners so she sent him as one of the pokedex owner. Upon meeting N, N accompanied him and will probably defend him cause he know this deaf child is more observant and caring towards his pokemon or any wild pokemon. (Idk if N moved and lived with him in Kalos though. Since Budheg now lives in Dendemille Town)- Haiten was previously my mogeko oc, but I made her my own OC now. She was a child of the angel general and demon general. At first she was raised by the demons, but even then she was bullied. The local God noticed her existence and wanted to summon this half-ling to his side, so he asked his right hand man, the angel general, Haiten's biological (other) Dad (as her other parent is also male), to give options. "Haiten's options are to live with the angels and the demon family is spared or she can live in hell but specifically her biological demon family who loved and cared her will be killed". She chose the former ofc. In angels' side she's bullied even further. The God even physically and emotionally abused her till she have PTSD now, forcing her and abusing her In-between Worlds Jumping ability. She ran away with Xeus and asked Xeus to reset her whole world and make it completely the same only the God and Devil is deleted from existence and history. Now only Haiten and her angel and demon families remember the God and Devil in the whole world.-Surya was kidnapped once when she and her family are travelling out of Sindria and nearly made a slave before running away and now becoming a phantom thief. She'd even do that in the middle of the street when she was travelling. Other people would give her money thinking she was a street performer (lol). She's probably the best for this out of all my OCs- if Haiten sings, it's usually a meaningful songs with meaningful lyrics and for meaningful purpose. She have Song Magic, which can be used to directly deliver her emotion to the listener using the song or searching for a certain someone whose personality matches the lyrics of the song. Her voice resemble IROHA (the cat-girl vocaloid).- You know how amazing and bright and show-off Miku Concert are. That's how Surya does her thing when doing heists sometimes. Out of heists, she'd hummed as to not disturb her animal buddies.

How I entered/learned about the said game/show/movie/etc of that fandom

I started watching Danny Phantom around 12 as well!! I saw it advertised all over YTV, and it gave Saturday mornings on what use to be called the Vortex?? Which was like a segment, for lack of a better word, in which all the Saturday morning cartoons gave. Anyway, I always watched the Vortex so I managed to catch the premiere and I LOVED it

Anyway I ended up finding the fanfiction archive for it and the Danny Phantom ff archive is constantly BOUNCING or as kids say nowadays, lit?? And there were SO MANY GOOD WRITERS!!! So I mostly partook in that, and read some of the message boards on YTV’s website too. Then the show ended and I was dissatisfied with the mess that was Phantom Planet (as is the whole Fandom) and ironically enough, I can’t remember how (probably via dA. I even had a shitty insert yourself half-ghost OC man I was in DEEP and have not yet emmerged) I stumbled upon the HUGE phandom presence on ye old tumblr trash site and ended up joining BECAUSE of the Phandom and I have not left since they’re just so great and the parts of the Phandom I follow are such a good community and the ANGST and the FANART and the Discourse and the trash ships (DannyxPink Pants anyone?) and the “it’s not gay if he’s dead” and fucking WES WESTON that trash cryptid child like

Paulina sorta bothered me, probably b/c of the stereotype/trope of popular mean girl that was thrown at her. Sam could be cringey at times too. I cannot STAND Poindexter like hecker fuck he was sO ANNOYING and Walker is a punk ass bitch and I would fight him if I could (yeah yeah it’s against the rules I don’t give a fuck, I’ll punch him right in his square ghost face)

Lancer was also occasionally super unfair though “Teacher of the Year” definitely gave me a soft spot for him

SAME WITH VLAD AND DANNY LIKE WHY??? WHY! I can’t stand that ship I really can’t it also squicks me I just don’t like it it makes me all cringey. Like I’m all for the mentor and student angle, if Vlad wasn’t such a vengeful fruit loop, but the ship ship like no please keep that 70 feet away from me, thanks.

Like honestly I don’t think there’s ever been a fandom that dislikes the show creator as much as the Phandom does. It’s beautiful how everyone comes together to bash him when he ruins our fave theories and general fun. It’s very heart warming.

If there is something I would change from said game/show/movie/etc., what would it be.

I would retcon a good chunk of season 3 okay and fix it up like the episode where the Fentons become rich and are totally ooc??? Yeah I’d absolutely retcon that and I’ve seen some REALLY GOOD POSTS lost DEEP in my TAG about how they would retcon it (tey being various phans)

And I would erase Phantom Planet completely. How, you ask? WELL.

Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. This  is a new multimuse OC blog so they can’t be popular, since they’re not known. I decided to choose Val since so far he’s the most popular. I think it’s because he’s the easiest to get along with at first, so realistically starters will be fluid.

Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. I think Val is hott, but idk if other people think he’s hott. He has a cute face and decent fashion sense. I think Val is gorgeous.

Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. Is he strong physically? Absolutely not. He is not physically strong at all whatsoever, but he can fuck someone up with wit and magic. He also has a cute smile, which can be disarming.

Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. They aren’t even rated because new OC.

Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. Val is an Inquisitor. He is the Inquisitor half to his brother who is also an inquisitor with the same shiny mark. Val does the diplomatic work. It is soul sucking, especially since he is a Dalish elf.

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / They’re a main character. One of them.

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. In Val’s words “Who the hell knows a Dalish person until a human brand got placed on him?” ¯\_( ツ )_/¯ Yes, ‘Herald of Andraste’ .... ‘blah blah blah’

How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. Humans love Val. He is very good at hiding his distaste for them, even in Orlais, and he even enjoys the culture from time to time.

How strictly do you follow canon?  — OC no cannon. But he’s an Inquisitor so I have to follow something. Since I have two Inquisitor brothers, one fulfills one role and the other does the other job. Val is the diplomat. He serves tea to people, looks pretty, and has an award winning smile. He also decides with Josie who would be useful as an ally politically and rolls over documents until their eyes bleed.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  — Val is ridiculous and trying his best. He is a smartass dingus stuck in a system who see’s him as less than a person, and he knows how to play that system. He knows how to get humans to love him. He knows how to get anyone to love him. He hardly has to try, because he is super cute and that is what has helped him survive.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — Val dusts his room every other day. It’s not very interesting, but he looks pretty while doing it. Negatives: He has severe ptsd most people won’t see but it will come up with close friends and love interests and you can ask me if it’s a concern. Otherwise: Val can be very naive and absentminded.

What inspired you to rp your muse? — I wanted to make duo Inquisitor brothers, both with marks. I created Val in character creator and went, OMFG he’s gorgeous! Before that I wrote private side stories where he bothered Solas constantly and it made me laugh and Val became a big personality up here in my brain-pan.

What keeps your inspiration going? —  Tay, his brother. Every time I write Val, Tay is there having an argument with him and mommying him and it’s really cute. Honestly these bros are hilarious and alone they are great characters but together they’re the best.

If someone knocks on his door before a certain time he will be angry but pretend that he isn’t mad about it. When Cole enters his mind he intentionally teaches him naughty words in revenge (this always backfires)

Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO. They will never see the light of day

Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO. Val is cute, how could you not.

Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO / SORT OF? He is an OC, who do y’all have to compare it to.
