a major plot point or like the entire thing about my au is just the creeps moving on and having their own character arcs throughout the years and finally heal from their past trauma

(rest is me rambling about my au...u don't have to read if u don't wanna its pretty long)

Jeff's arc is big on him finding his brother and coming to terms with what really happened. jeff is so incredibly stubborn and a big (very) egotistical. he finds it hard to open up and after what happened he feels that there's no point opening up anyway bc he's literally a famous asshole serial killer who's messed up SO many people's lives. another big thing about his arc is just owning up to his actions and apologizing to the people he's hurt. for example, nina. he led her on, treated her terribly for no reason, and was overall just an asshole. after they get into an argument he'll eventually apologize bc like he didn't HATE nina, he's was and prob still is in a terrible mindset and copes in such unhealthy ways. IDK OK I'm rambling but my point is he does eventually apologize to nina not because he needs her or like wants to use her again. he apologizes because he genuinely misses her and BOOM they become besties again after jeff properly apologizes and ya. BUT basically jeff's arc is him finally finding liu after all these years and yeah he apologizes to all the people he hurt (or the IMPORTANT ones) like nina, liu, and EVENTUALLY... jane. but that's WAY into the future (besides nina) he's way too full of himself to apologize now.

Nina's arc is her getting over JEFF. her love for Jeff began when she met him. she already admired him, but he turned into a full on crush. he did lead her on, and it hurt her a lot. shed spent tons of nights alone when jeff was supposed to be sleeping next to her, and she just felt so lonely, especially since jeff was so neglectful. She talks to clockwork about it and they help her realize her self worth and comforts her (she's terrible at it). Nina starts hanging out with Nat and toby more often, and it makes her feel SO much better about herself. Eventually she does get fed up of jeffs bs and they get into an argument and nina decides to leave. she kicks him out of her apartment and she doesn't let him come back. (she does....when he apologizes.....) She eventually learns to love herself and realize she doesn't need a stinky man's validation. Theres also a bit of her coming to terms with her own trauma, but I haven't fully fleshed that part out yet.

BEN's arc is probably my favorite. he's lost all his memories of his past life, and now after he accidentally found out he's NOT just a computer AI program, he decides to take it on himself to find out who his family was, how his life was, and how he died. I wont say as much bc I want to keep it a surprise, but in summary it fucks him up LMAO

ok that's it. OBVIOUSLY the rest of the creeps are healing as well BUT I have not fleshed out their stories yet...oops. so its just three for now. Except MUCH more stuff about the trio bc I love them with my all.. if u have any questions feel free to ask :3

reading Brainwyrms by Alison Rumfitt. it's interesting. clearly part of the post-Topside wave of trans lit, with the same 'plugged in to twitter' energy, but way more British about it. which means most of the allusions are very transparent to me. it's a combo of... hardcore kink driven romance as the main arc, in a near-future setting in which TERFism goes further to the point of outright bombings, and a scifi element with alien brain parasites that it's gradually building towards.

compellingly written, I'll give it that for sure - I lay down to read for a bit and before I knew it I'd read like a third of the book. the main character's disaffected, traumatised air is well observed, and the kink doesn't hold back.

I think my reservation with it so far is that it feels a little too much like a polemic blog post about the way things are going. the MC Frankie is a trans woman with a pregnancy kink who survived a bombing at a GIC and now works in social media moderation - it's all stuff that is blatantly Relevant To The Argument, as it were. it's tricky to criticise it for that because it's like, what you're saying is that it's tightly constructed and thematically consistent and that's bad somehow? but I think I've come to feel that I like fiction to bring me something a little new and unfamiliar.

the chapter I most enjoyed so far was actually a more metaphorical, abstract interlude, in which resistance to fascism is cast as becoming 'one mass of queer flesh, which now grabbed and clawed...'; 'faces locked in kisses until they became one face. the cops would try to pull at this mass, but to no avail'. very 'faggots and their friends between revolutions' stuff.

the chapters which are presented directly as social media posts and articles are also sharply observed. i think a lot of fiction in which the internet features heavily suffers from not understanding the internet very well (Hosoda's Belle for example), but for example the chapter 'Curious Cat' where an anonymous person (blatantly Vanya) is sending messages asking for help with a parasite, and getting rebuffed or misunderstood, and the chapter where Frankie relates a murder of an instagram model by a stalker who posts about it to a reddit community devoted to her, read as very real.

a lot of the story is about responding to a terrifying political situation in sexual terms - a flashback chapter depicting Frankie having sex with some terf's pretentious brother ("with each thrust from him, she thought to herself, I am a traitor, I am a traitor to the cause"), or the preface which jokes about how in another world the author would be writing 'cool horror stories about vampires raping werewolves, ones with no subtext at all'. I prevaricate a little on whether this is a compelling examination of a theme that I do find interesting (the mysterious origins of sexual desire) or just edgy for its own sake.

this is an odd novel for me in some ways because while on one level, this is about people who I could very easily be a single degree of separation from were they real, it's also about a facet of life that is still quite alien to me and in many ways I only know about second hand. I've never been to a kink club (that wasn't in an MMO anyway lol), I'm way too much of a nerdy autist shut-in to know what it's like to be someone who would feel put out if she hadn't had sex in a week. so even before the parasite stuff, it's hard to know how much of Frankie and Vanya's stuff is real, and how much is fantasy. is this really how things go between people? it sounds kinda fun, but unlocking the door this far has already taken years.

when I've read books about the crazy lives that American trans girls supposedly live and interesting sex they're apparently having, they've been at a certain remove, the other side of the Atlantic. and this book feels sort of similar, even though I know it's set right on my doorstep. idk, I've never been good at this.

anyway I don't think I want to write fantasy novels so directly about The Discourse of the day, but it's probably good that someone is. that said, it's hard to parse like... ok, it's titled brainwyrms, and 'brain worms' is a common way of describing an obsessive, cultish idea you receive from the internet.

and like if you look at the newspapers, or twitter trans discourse, you certainly could believe that this country is on a rapid slide to putting us in camps. however, my day to day life has been... it's not without hostility, but the average street harasser isn't doing it because of a Guardian or even Mail article. this country has a subculture of deranged weirdos who hate our guts, and a political class who will happily stoke culture war shit to score points, but most normies I've met don't care one way or another that I'm trans - they might mention a family member or friend they know who's also trans. the day to day conflicts are over way more prosaic shit, the landlord vs tenant forever war, or how the kitchen should be cleaned. which of these windows is more informative of the 'overall' state of affairs? not that a more violent terf cult is a bad premise to write a novel around, but a sense of impending doom is a pretty powerful mechanism to keep you scrolling, right?

like in 20, 40 years - will the terfs really be bombing the Tavistock and banning transness, as Rumfitt imagines in her near-future setting preface? or will they go the way of those newspapers in Thatcher's time who smeared the gay movement, just as they smear us today? of passing political obsessions like 'new atheism'? I don't know the half-life of cult shit.

anyway, time to read the rest of the novel, and see how it handles this brew that it's concocted.

Oh you're new to Tumblr? Ahhh word of advice then- If I may? It might be a good idea to change your profile picture. Tumblr has a big bot problem. And a lot of the bots have default profile pictures just like yours. A lot of people might see your account in their feed and just block/report on sight. ANYWAYS! So for the Captain Barnacles/Crab comic. I don't plan on finishing it. And the reason why I abandoned it was because the way I had written the comic had everyone acting out of character. The blood was over the top, it was too dramatic,, ugh.. I got tired of my own comic half way through making it. <XD

The comic was gonna end with the rest of the crew showing up, they take the Captain to the octopod, and Peso cries because "I was too scared to help the Captain.." Which is just stupid <XD

Peso would not cower in fear in this situation. Even if Captain Barnacles turned like that and became very scary. Peso has had an extended history of getting it together and braving through anything to help creatures in need. And if his own Captain/friend was hurt? Nothing would stop him. Nothing could scare him away.

In the perfect re-write, Peso would ace this situation. He would approach Barnacles perfectly and calm him down. He would patch the wound, guide him to the gups. Guide him into the octopod and into the med-bay. Expertly deal with the wound and clean up all the blood.

Sure maybe after everything was done he would cry a bit out of the stress of it all. But originally everyone else did everything for Peso because he was too scared to help the scARy CapTAIN OOOO!!

Nah, that dumb. Peso is way stronger than that. #justiceforpeso

I made one yeeeaaarrs ago when I was into Sonic. But it centered around a Sonic OC of mine. <XD I don't tend to do much insert OC stuff anymore..

I imagine Bonnie would just sigh and try to get through it on his own. And not go to Foxy for help.. Worse case scenario he gets overwhelmed and shuts down on stage and ruins the show. Which is fine by him. He'd think, "Serves them right for puttin me on that stage. Faz-bear entertainment deserves to have their show flop for how they've treated me.. for how they've treated us."

Its hard to say, I didn't ever like.. try to replicate an art style and draw something unrelated. Like- if I was drawing in the gravity falls art style, I was drawing gravity falls stuff. I wouldn't draw in the gravity falls art style and draw random ocs and stuff. If that makes sense-

But maybe one style was easier to draw hands in than another. So I.. might have adopted some stuff..?? I guess??

Taking the quilt off does nothing, the quilt doesn't bring them to life either! Remember that Bibi could talk when he was a still picture and was brought to "life" without the use of a quilt or even any glowy effects. Also Jangles had a quilt as a drawing and was "brought to life" using a pen!

The point I'm getting at is, Pen? Quilt? It doesn't matter. None of these methods actually give the characters life. I do. All these fancy ways I seem to bring them to life are just for show <XD

To put it simply, fanart makes me feel bad. And Comments make me feel good. So I prefer comments to fanart. 👌

To complicate it a bit, when I post artwork I'm just sitting there all giddy waiting for the first "AKSJKASAU WAAAAA 😭😭😭" comment to pop up. When I get fanart I immediately get frustrated and uncomfortable. Fanart feels like stealing and usually invokes a negative reaction from me. So if people want to show their appreciation for my work, leaving comments is 100% more effective and preferred. 👍

Gameplay stuff!!

Hi! I just wanted to make this post because it's currently the game/save I've been playing and IDK I'm in a sharing mood today. Putting it in a read more because it's lengthy and I'm pretty sure only a few people will be interested in seeing it.

My save right now is kind of an alternate version of Pleasantview because I love that world a lot and I wanted to play in it (but not really in it - do you get what I mean?)

I'm mostly playing as Kaylynn Langerak and her life as a maid trying to work her way up in life and build her own business. However, between juggling her maid job and her love life with her landlord (oops... in my defense they have AMAZING compatibility), she's really not doing much in that department.

I've also been playing with her family, the Langeraks. Kaylynn's aunt, Zelda Mae has been my favorite to play with in that family because she's so fun. She's basically a failed indie artist turned interior decorator who's also trying to get herself back into the dating scene.

A close second favorite in their household is Kaylynn's brother, Parker, who's pretty much always trying to get girls at clubs (and fails at it massively).

A special showcase of their home because I love the way I made it.

Anyway, here's a rundown of some of the decisions I've made:

Kaylynn Langerak currently lives in the Futures Past apartment (on the main strip of Oasis Springs)

Don Lothario currently lives in the apartment buildings near the gym on the lower right portion of the map

The Brokes currently live in their trailer on the poorer side of Oasis Springs

The Lotharios (Don's parents) live in the subdivision area of Oasis Springs

The Langeraks live in the upper portion of San Sequioa (the house that's a little cut off in the picture above)

The Newbies (Mary-sue Pleasant's parents) also live nearby in a rental apartment a little ways from the Langeraks

The Pleasants currently live in their original home on the southern portion of San Sequioa. I haven't really fleshed them out and really played with them because the Langeraks are just more interesting for me. However, I did make them hire Kaylynn as their maid (using the NPC maid job) and I'm currently working on having Daniel and Kaylynn have their affair.

The Fiorelios (Don's maternal grandparents) also live in the cottages near the Pleasants

Anyway, that's the save so far!! IDK, just felt like making this post haha

LKSJFDLKFJGDFG i can't use the rant on you then because it would be too clinical and i would angry swear sometimes probably

but honestly like. first we need to talk about halsin . wait first we need to talk about poly as a sexuality

i'm going to try and not turn this into a massive character analysis or analysis of queer identity in media etc so i will attempt to retain my humour throughout to ground me

people who are poly tend to sit on either side of a coin. poly is a preferred state of relationship, or just a state of relationship they enjoy, and they can do just fine with monogamy, and everything is chill - ultimate relaxed person mode. the other side is the group of poly individuals who view poly as important to them and their sexual identity as being straight or gay or bisexual or pansexual or any other identity. for them it is part of the queer umbrella and it is fundamental to their being, they can't turn it off, they can't be ok with monogamy, this is who they are.

for reference, halsin is the latter. poly is part of his sexual identity.

halsins poly rep is, spoken from a poly person, ok. it is ok. it's not good, it's not bad. it's mostly the stuff around halsin i don't like. (and i am not going to talk about his drow situation, for reference, because that shit goes beyond poly rep.) making halsin token poly, for lack of a better word, would realistically be fine in most situations, in fact i've talked with aisling about this and i would have preferred they made him poly with no poly options in the game to go with him over what we got - we can't forget he was added late, he isn't as fleshed out, he feels a bit misplaced sometimes, and his poly goes hand in hand with that. he could have existed as a poly character, which nearly all wood elves are in canon, without shoving in some poly options for him with existing companions who would explore that with anyone else despite the game allowing you to romance those companions with the other companions if you play as them? and they flirt with each other in banter quite regularly? i don't know. it feels very like, o shit we gotta make him poly he's a wood elf! and he's a druid! but we have no options for him! who are the easiest to add without it feeling odd??? like idk. it doesn't feel great from a poly pov, and if you enjoy like halsin x shart x tav or halsin x astarion x tav that's totally cool - i am not dismissing these at all because i don't fucking care about canon so even if it didn't exist in canon in a way i don't really like, i would still be cool with it.

our poly rep leaves much to be desired, tldr.

i am happy it exists, however. and my hope is that one day in the future when we have an rpg where every romance option is bisexual or pansexual that they are also poly. that is my ultimate ideal for the future of these situations in gaming. i know some people are uncomfortable with poly, but that's why we refer to what i first said. you can have characters like halsin where it is fundamental to their being - they will never be monogamous, you cannot change them. but you can also have individuals who are cool with monogamy if you're not comfortable with polyamory. i want characters who will date each other on their own, and you can join the polycule, or get involved with just one of them. i want devs to be open minded and not give us a token polyamorous character and instead explore it in better ways.

i have known many poly people, i've dated poly people of both sides of the coin, i've been involved with people who are married to someone they don't live with but have nesting partners (a partner they live with who isn't their spouse) and multiple partners on the side and follow the hierarchy side of poly. my ex helped me understand poly as a sexuality and they also didn't subscribe to poly hierarchy and all their partners would be equal. poly is an expansive identity and it deserves the attention and respect other queer identities do.

a poly person creating poly ships and poly situationships with a character or characters who are confirmed monogamous is the same to me as a gay person creating gay ships and gay situationships with a character or characters who are confirmed straight. and that might be divisive, because many people, including queer people are not ready for or not comfortable with polyamory yet in their spaces. now i can be respectful of people who have trauma around polyamory because they were involved with someone who used it as a weapon - usually done by someone who isn't actually poly. but we as poly people deserve to take up space, we deserve to be in your media, we deserve respect, we deserve to be represented well.

and if video game devs aren't going to do that for me, you bet your ass i'm gonna do it for myself. no one can take that power for me.

what exists in my game doesn't have to mean shit for yours - it doesn't exist in yours. it is a thing i do for me to make me happy. if anyone gets upset about that they need to go outside.

please don't cast a witches curse on me

So I enjoy speculating on cartoony things and such- even if not fleshing it out, just things that are interesting to think about- and I most certainly have wonders about pmatga. Obviously there’s a lot of cartoon logic but stuff can still be fun to interpret.

I’ll probably do more eventually, but in particular I’d like to talk about some things in the episode “Cave Pac-Man”.

We’re shown that Pacworlders have three toes

While many other species also have three toes, in “Jurassic Pac” when Pac becomes Pac-Kong he does appear to have feet more similar to Earth primates (albeit a bit more hand-like).

Somewhere in the transition from trees to plains, two of the digits on their hind legs just disappeared (maybe there’s some remnants like a dewclaw or whatever or they’re straight up gone.)

also tangent but nails might’ve disappeared too?? Likely animation/design choices but it is interesting the main characters more have sausage fingers while Pac-Kong and the cave-orbs have nails.

But then again we’re shown whatever this is in “Pac-Pong Fever”

which is something I want to revisit later, but yeah not sure about that.

2. Modern orbs are very colorful, though it’s shown their ancient ancestors were shades of brown and some muted tones.

Except this gal

So vibrant colors started coming in circa two million years ago, first appearing as shades of red (with this lady being a pretty drastic pigmentation) at least in this group.

3. So again, there’s cartoon logic with the understanding/speaking basic modern Paclish (and perhaps other languages) though as a stretch you could say some aspects of the language have just stayed the same over millennia.

but there’s this that I’m really interested in-

“Monster is most likely a derivative of the prehistoric Pac-language.”

what does that mean. Did ancient orbs and monsters (I’m mostly assuming Fuzbitz’s kind in this case) just interact to the point they learned to communicate? Or…

Like… could there have been a divergence or something???

Idk. But yeah it’s just neat when you think about the possibilities

I normally don’t have much patience and can’t get myself to read anything past like 15k or anything that’s still being worked on, but your story hooked me almost instantly! thank you!! and yes i usually have at least a vague idea of what i want in the story before i start, though a lot of it didn't become concrete until i started writing/things evolving from there. i made a big (slightly) vague timeline of the entire fic from beginning to (almost) end, and then i keep fleshing it out from there as the ideas keep coming to me/evolving, and for each chapter i make an even more detailed outline, and THEN i get started on the final chapter. so its a bit of a process bahaha, but the brainstorming is really fun!! as for any advice, im not sure. maybe just brainstorm/write down scenes and ideas that you know for a fact that you want to put in your fic, and then try to find a way to connect them to other scenes from there and work backwards. basically WRITE WHAT YOU WANT TO READ, cuz like im my own biggest fan fr, thats the most important part LMAO

Daily Dragon #56 - Fygar

Another cute, arcade dragon! Fygar was always one I was gonna do eventually, and I didn't have a huge oomph to draw tonight so I figured this was a perfect opportunity for a simple one! Tried to do a new take on it inspired by a few different designs :)

Daily Dragon #57 - Percipitar

A mollusc-like dragon that swims through rivers and ponds, slurping up water to bulk up its pouches, then turns that water into clouds for fighting and hunting! Their shell is very hard, but the yellow flesh is VERY soft and gooey.

Since the last few were all redraws / fanart, I really wanted to make a brand new one today! Originally this was gonna be a poison mist spewing dragon, but I couldn't decide on a color/effect for the poison. And I eventually thought just regular water and mist powers were a little more interesting because we've already had a few poisonous dragons or dragons that spew stuff that has effects on enemies. Note to self, stop making dragons that produce some kind of toxic or mist???

Just for fun and some background because I have it here, this is the unfinished version of the picture when I was making it poisonous instead. I changed it at the last possible moment lol

Daily Dragon #58 - Mega Charizard Z

"Its head splits into 3 to become a menacing Hydra. While its brain power is divided in this form, its fire power becomes multiplied!" Not sure what type I'd make it? Maybe Fire/Fairy or Fire/Electric or something idk

Also I already have ideas on how I would maybe tackle this design a little differently so, maybe we'll see Mega Charizard Z 2 in the future

This fun little dragon is February's most popular dragon as decided by vote!! That means she gets new art! Soaring through the sky and flying by some migrating birds! Seems like she's having a magical day~

Daily Dragon #61 - Rawrnosaur

A large, feral dragon with some odd properties. It has chameleon-like eyes, salamander-like skin, gecko-like tail, and a long lizard-like tongue. They're often found in places with more humid climates and eat tons of food constantly!

This is yet another redraw of an INCREDIBLY old monster of mine! This one is even older than the Feral Cave Dragon (which I found out is from 2011-ish) as this would've probably been before I was even in Kindergarten. Crazy stuff!

The original was found while we were helping my grandma clean her house, which is cute. Some things never change, I've been a reptile fan for life! I'm actually SO happy with how this redesign came out. I might have to go through and color it in later!

Daily Dragon #62 - Mountain Dragon

This dragon lives high on mountain tops, where it makes its lair. It rarely comes down to ground level, only occasionally to find shiny things to add to its horde or when food on the mountain becomes scarce. As such, they're a bit rare.

Been having a stressful week, so I haven't been having a lot of original ideas for dragons. So this is another redraw. This dragon from 2023 was just called "random dragon" in my files. So there wasn't much to work with aha

I’ve seen a lot of people online lately saying how Nico better end up actually happy at the end of the Solangelo book or otherwise what was the point in writing it. Or about how they think Will (or Nico) is definitely gonna die and I’m like ???

1). Why do you think the book is being written to begin with??? Nico has been a fan-favorite for awhile now. He’s got a lot going on that couldn’t be easily explained away in the other books because it just wasn’t the time or place. Him and Will are a very popular couple, right up there with Percabeth. This book is meant to flesh out the rest of Nico and Will’s characters (lots with Will, we hope) and their relationship, to address their trauma or worries and where they stand with one another (and to save Bob, ofc, we love Bob), and either end with them healed or firmly on the road to a happier future where we as readers can see that they’ll be okay in the end.

2). Rick’s killed off plenty of characters before, yeah (Rip Jason) but I really don’t see him taking out either of the boys. Especially since Mark had the reins when it came to actually writing most of the book. What would be the reason? I’m pretty sure the book is meant to explore their relationship and bring them together, not kill one or the other and cause MORE trauma. Also, we all know how it feels to have a gay/otherwise LGBT+ character (one who’s in a relationship, too) killed off just because ✨angst✨ and then it’s just left at that. Can you imagine how angry people would get? Like what’s the point of writing an entire standalone SOLANGELO novel if the authors go and kill off one half of the ship? I get that people might be worried but I really don’t think it’s gonna happen lol.

Or idk maybe I just have too much faith? I think it’ll be fine. Also, we have to remember that this book is still meant to fall within the middle grade age category so things can’t get too crazy and dark (not saying that kids can’t process and understand that stuff when it’s written, it’s just how the books are usually for multiple reasons).

Their emotions are so high!

This has been a long time coming - it's been nearly a year of back and forth. Nearly a year of glaring, of snide comments and sneering remarks as they're forced together 'for the good of the kingdom'. Nearly a year of heated arguments and even more heated glances that catch on the a long column of throat or the swell of a breast.

It's getting close to that time when Jake and Neytiri are set to step down from the throne. Both Lo'ak and Princess are old enough to take their place. Princess has been trained her whole life for this, she's ready - knows the ins and outs of royal life and how to handle foreign dignitaries and council issues without even having to bat her perfectly curled eyelashes. Lo'ak, on the other hand . . . well, he's good enough. He still learning; it will take YEARS for him to fully learn everything that Neteyam had been taught to do and handle since the moment he was born. But he's getting there - he's much smarter and more capable than his parents or Princess ever give him credit for.

But it's still intense. Nerves are getting the better of them, their anxiety is through the roof. The stress that they're going to fuck up somehow is making them worried and frustrated and they're snapping at each other even more than usual. If Lo'ak messes up, it's going to be proof to him and his parents (and the entire kingdom) that he will never be as good as his brother, and he hates that he can't even go one day without being compared to Neteyam. If Princess messes up, her life is over. Lo'ak would be upset if he messed up, but he would be okay. But she's a woman, and worse - she's a woman trying to maintain a position of power. She already has people rooting for her to fail. If this goes south for her, just one mess up, and she's done.

So they're both not feeling their best when they return to their rooms after their official engagement ball. They were paraded around, told to be quiet, to stick to the speeches written for them, to "Smile, for God's sake! Can you at least act like you like each other?"

The were forced to roam the ballroom, arm and arm, large smiles plastered on their faces as they talk to important person after important person, answering the same questions over and over and over again.

"Are you excited? You should feel very blessed,"

"How do you feel stepping into your brother's shoes?"

"Have you heard from Prince Neteyam at all?"

"Is it true he ran away with a maid?"

"How long after your marriage and coronation can we expect an heir?"

Their eyes don't leave each other as they dance, spinning to the music and seeming to notice nothing else around them except for each other before the coda plays and the dance comes to an end. They bow and curtsey respectively, eyes narrowing briefly at the other as they both try to push the annoying thought of how effortless the entire piece was and what that might signify.

Lo'ak's not in his room for five minutes when a knock on the door sounds. He's still in his fancy clothes, and the only thing he's managed to remove is his waistcoat. He's still working on unbuttoning his ruffled shirt when Princess's maid enters his bedchamber.

"My Prince, my Princess is requesting your presence,"

Lo'ak frowns. "For what?"

"She would like to discuss with you some matters regarding tomorrow's meeting with the council members,"

"No," Lo'ak scoffs. "I'm tired. We can talk tomorrow."

The older woman nods, understanding. "Yes, my Prince. However, my Lady does want me to insist and remind you that she has been training for this life far longer than you have and it is within your best interest to heed her suggestions,"

Lo'ak's hands drop from his shirt, a deep growl bursting from his throat at the slight coming from an infuriating girl currently located across the castle. He barrels past the maid, cutting through hallways until he's outside Princess's door. His knock is rough and angry, and she's still in her ball gown when she answers, a small smirk playing at her lips with a cocky, "Oh, good. You're here,"

"You summoned me?"

She has about two seconds to gloat and take pride in his pissed off expression before he's yelling at her. Harsh words spill from his lips - "you're a spoiled brat" "you're nothing without me" "You wouldn't have this chance anymore since Neteyam left if not for me,". The words aren't new, he's said them before - but this time they hit harder, and her carefully crafted visage of complete emotional stability and self control come crumbling down around them.

She's yelling at him back, interrupting his scathing words and spitting her own about how he'll never be like his brother, how if she leaves then it will be on him to look as a failure in front of his father, how she doesn't even want this marriage, never wanted it, but she has to if she ever wants any kind of a life.

They're both breathing heavy when the yelling stops, glaring daggers at each other as they try to calm their breathing. She can't help when her eyes trail down to his torso, taking in the fully unbuttoned shirt hanging open around his muscular chest, mixed metal necklaces contrasting nicely against his dark skin. His eyes are on her too, locked onto the soft swell of her breasts heaving in the tight corset top of her dress.

It's pure instinct as they come together, neither one making the active decision to lunge forward and press their lips together. Is there a biblical reason why christians believe life starts at conception (sperm attaching to egg)? cuz i've heard some muslims say the fetus doesnt have a soul until 3 months so abortion is *special* circumstances would be allowed but generally abortion is discouraged n frowned upon.

It comes from the fact that several prophets in the Bible refer to God knowing them *before* they were ever born, which implies that at fertilization, the personhood of the human to come is already acknowledged by God and that he has a plan for them.

If you're Muslim, you have to understand that the entire Bible has been written under the inspiration of the holy spirit. The books have different authors (Moses, David, Paul, Salomon, Jeremiah, etc.) but their writings are united by the unity of the Spirit that inspired to put the Lord's mind on paper. So it's not Isaiah or Jeremiah just staying stuff about their conception, it's God making a statement through their pens. I know that Muslim have a hard time to grasp the concept of God made flesh, or understanding the difference between the father, Jesus (the son) and the holy spirit and say it's "association" = polytheism, but to give you an idea, it's like ice, vapor and water, and God is the H²O molecule that's inside all of these physical forms. WeChristians worship "H²O" (God) while acknowledging this molecule can have several physical forms, each with its own assets and purpose🩵✝️ it's not worshipping different molecules (= other gods) just different forms of the same "molecule" (God). There's no wonder water has such a significant symbolism in Christianity 👀 (baptism, the flood/Noah's ark, Jesus walking on water, water flowing out of Jesus rib after his crucifixion, etc)

That's why abortion is an abomination: because in the eyes of God, the fetus has already personhood, value, a destiny (like Isaiah he destined to be his servant). IDK about you, but trying to grasp God already having planned the unique life & destiny of the past/present/future humanity makes my head twirl 😵‍💫 but that's how awesome he is. Our life matters!!

Oh and one last thing : be very wary of those "Christians" who takes the example of Adam as evidence that Christianity says that life starts at birth :

1) Adam was never incubed in a womb or got "birthed" in the biological sense. God formed him out of clay, shaping him by hand. His creation cannot be compared to a human fetus who's made in the womb and delivered by the uterus.

2) as previously stated, God has a plan for every single human BEFORE their conception. So arguing whether they're alive when breathing their first breath is ridiculous because it's obvious the personhood and reality of that new being has been acknowledged by God way before

3) WE.ARE.NOT.GOD. Only God has the right of life or death on humans (that's one of the reasons I'm anti death penalty btw). Regardless of when life begins, we humans are not entitled to kill or harm anyone. Arguing that life at first breath is allegedly biblical, doesn't suddenly prove that it's "biblical" to kill a fetus.

I've begun drafting chapter 4 but I'd be so shocked if I get it written and posted within the next 2-3 days. It definitely won't be a marathon writing session the way chapter 3 ended up being, esp since there are less absolutely-need-to-cover-this-point-in-this-chapter moments in this one so it'll take me a bit longer to flesh out the different scenes. I have very limited writing time this week lol

In other news I was so nervous about how people would respond to Sgaeyl as an AI but it seems like I didn't have anything to worry about! I felt like having her in this form was the best way to stay faithful to the FW source material while still writing in an alternate universe with no magic. Think of SGAEYL as JARVIS/KAREN/FRIDAY, but with a lot more personality and emotions. I try to keep my world building as realistic as possible for the world I'm writing in (see my attempts to integrate real-life cipher types even though I know nothing about cryptology lol), but the dragon AIs are incredibly unrealistic, since they'll have a lot more personality/emotions than real-life, or even near-future, AI would have. Normally that would really bother me, but to me it was way more important to find a way to incorporate Sgaeyl and eventually Tairn and the other dragons. I do have a couple ideas for how to integrate this disconnect into the plot, but I'm still fleshing it out.

On that note, if anyone who reads my stuff knows a lot about cryptology or old code breaking methods, please message me! I won't explain why on here b/c spoilers, but there are scenes that I'd like to include that I don't think can write unless I have a much better idea of what I'm talking about. I want to make this as realistic as possible, but also relatively easy to follow for a reader, and there is nothing I hate more than not being able to explain something in my writing.

I'm really interested to hear y'alls theories on what you think might happen as castles crumbling continues. The people I've discussed the plot with told me they didn't anticipate certain aspects of the story, but I've also had readers send me messages in the past straight up guessing plot twists that I could swear no one would see coming. I also want to hear which characters you're hoping to see more of! personally, I'm excited to write more scenes with ridoc and garrick, both on their own but (maybe, theoretically) also together later in the story. I feel like the two of them would actually be good friends once they're comfortable around each other. Idk. maybe that's my wishful thinking since the two of them live in my head rent free. I just want to gab abt my favorite characters with ppl lol its the only thing getting me through this brutal exam season.
