Turned around for a second or two and when they turned back he was gone. Not unusual for Grian, but he didn't show up again.

Saw him dissappear in the corner of their eye. Thinking their eyes fooled them, that he just ended up in a blind spot of their vision... But when they looked around he was just gone.

Looked directly at him (maybe even talked with him) as he dissappeared. Their brain taking a second to register he's not there anymore. One sec he was there and the next he's not. It being completely incomprehensible.

Related to this post where it wasn't the Watchers that took Grian. (although some rumours spread that it was.)

decided to go sunbringer designs for once. I have so many words oh my god

so. uh,

I am so normal about sunbringer joel smallishbeans so normal I swear. he's planning to throw the o from his name at scott btw.

... he and scar are related but I'm not explaining further until the actual fic about it comes out because there's so much plot significance in the smallishbeans.

... grian. has a book. that he borrowed from the Library. it's very relevant I swear the concept of the library is a plot point.

Also grians eyes are technically green! With a bit of purple and just. a layer of Dark over them to make them less neon green. its not in his genetics to have neon eyes. unlike scar and I swear their eye colors are relevant but like in a weird queerplatonic scarian dl based bit in the grian chapter of the fic

Mumbo is a long cat and being held by me specifically those hands are how I draw my mc skin. I wanted to draw him as this meme since 2021 but he's very hard for me to draw so I took the one time I'll ever draw him and did this.

Jimmy is. a creature. that has bird features but also cod features bc again half of the plot of sunbringer is based on empires 1. Also the bird he's holding is singing. And joel is stealing the song bc he has music type magic.

Scott! Is the one guy I can talk about! Because he already appeared in the fic. He's part ender dragon and like. a child of stars? I have a lot of times I drew him before I think but idk how much of it I uploaded before so yeah. Please ask me about sunbringer scott smajor he's one of the only ones I can talk about and he has so much lore going for him he's so dear to me

impulse is. technically part ender dragon too? the specifics will be explained in his chapter of yhiwu (alongside. a lot of magic lore. like a lot. I have half that speech written already it's basically looking the empires fic in the eyes and going "fight me uwu")

And because impulse is aligned to shadows skizz gets to be some form of light dragon descendant? Like light isn't directly an element in the magic of this universe but it does have an equivalent in the element of Life, which connects to truth and love, whereas shadows and theatrics (and storytelling in general) is always aligned to whatever element is considered dark; in this magic system, being Void.

Tango is looking up at mumbo. thats all. I don't have a lot of notes because my tango is just a little guy.

... ngl the only note I have on the bdubs design is that it's accidentally inspired by my human design for the main character in the show I'm writing. Bracelets and sparkly eyes and a t-shirt and. Crimes.

also not much on the cleo design she was just fun to draw but the implications of her existence are spoilers and also not really visually indicative bc idk what a "zombie hybrid" would look like so she just looks. funky. her background is all stitched together btw I finally had a use for the dashed lines brush :D

martyn and ren are. BIG spoilers. But only to like chapter 5 of the current fic. I will say I highly enjoy their existence tho. Also my ren designs always have hawaiian patterned shirts its a personality trait he seems to possess. Also his glasses are like. a hologram? bc his ears are Dog so he cant have normal glasses w like. the things that go behind ur ears.

lizzie is. also very important. she gets the two animals thing like jimmy bc axolotl and cat were her empires animals. also her buns are heart shaped I saw some fanart of that and its really cute so I also have that. and she's also looking at the long mumbo! very confused.

bigb. scares me. like yeah secret life really be mans villain arc. I tried to reflect that by actually straight up mirroring his eyes and having him be. the only guy looking straight at u. he can see u. u can run but u cant hide. also he gets cookies. also also drawing facial hair is hard he's the only time I ever managed to make facial hair look. normal. ever. wont happen again.

gem is being adorable and also definitely a deer hybrid dont mind the magic or stuff its fine (her chapter is. third in the roster. I literally just need to finish the impulse chapter to convince myself that its ok to upload her immediately after ch2).

and pearl! who we know bc she gets first chapter of the fic and thats already out. her eyes are a bit like moons btw. also she's doing magic back at gem which is cute I think. idk.

also half of them have fancy hair shines. like joel having beans that get progressively smaller. or pearl having moons. :D

#1 Zeus Cabin: Jimmy, Joel Jimmy: He's a Zeus kid, but everyone somehow forgets about it. Joel: He's competitive and strong. Also, because Jimmy is his half brother through godly parent, i get to make a fun bit about him dating Lizzie. And one of his origins in Afterlife SMP was a thunderborn

#2 Hera Cabin: Scott Scott: Scott's whole thing is loyalty. Hera is the goddess of marriage and is insanely loyal to Zeus. However, I feel like Hera should get at least one affair. So now Scott can use peacocks as weapons.

#3 Poseidon Cabin: Skizz Skizz: Poseidon kids tend to be really, really loyal to a fault and heroic, both qualities I think Skizz possesses.

#4 Demeter Cabin: Sausage, Shelby, Bdubs, Stress Sausage: This man built Sanctuary in a jungle and has flowers in his hair. He sells wood. There is no other place to put him. Shelby: Mushroom gnome, spooky mangrove witch, powerful storm witch, i need not continue. Bdubs: Moss man. Stress: SHE HAS FLOWERS

#5 Ares Cabin: Martyn, False Martyn: His planet is Mars, which is the roman version of Ares. He ended Limited Life in such a violent way, i can't help it. He was also red for the majority of Secret Life. False: I just feel like False should get to kill people more often.

#6 Athena Cabin: Grian, Pix, Owen, Xisuma Grian: This sums it up pretty well

Pix: Smart man. Archeologist and definitely a nerd. I wanna see him skipping out on training just so he can read history books. Owen: He likes to explore and discover new things in Pirates. In Rats, he's a tinkerer. In New Life, he's an explorer who wants to study hybrids. In Empires, he's a Llama who's curious about how humans work. Just a very curious character overall. Xisuma: Admin. I'm not elaborating.

#7 Apollo Cabin: Gem, Oli, Lyarrah Gem: She is an Apollo kid because of her Empire in S2. She's the sunlight princess. Apollo kid. Oli: MUSIC. MAN. Lyarrah: She writes the captions for the hermitcraft recap.

#8 Artemis Cabin: Pearl Pearl: Y'know, Artemis could've just like... had a kid, even though she took that oath. It wouldn't even have to be with a guy. Gods can change to whatever gender they want. Anyway, Pearl gets to be an Artemis kid because her symbolism is moon, she loves dogs, and will commit murder and hunt at night.

And, yet again, i look at this man and go "That right there is a multi-talented man with a habit for mischief."

Grian can get real stressed about all the Speaker stuff that’s going on. Though BigB doesn’t know everything(and it’s better if he didn’t, as it would put him in danger), he’s always there for Grian and that’s just so sweet!

I should probably elaborate on my how I want my art requests to work, so I’ll just leave a little explanation here until I make a pinned post about me, what I do, and how I run things.(which I should really get to)

When I get an art request, whether that be a ship, a specific character, an interaction, or something else, I’ll attach my art to the ask. Most of the time the art will just be a sketch, but depending on how much time I have or how inspired I am at the moment, I might add some color. I will not reply or draw for any requests that ask me to draw anything harmful or hateful. I’ll get to requests whenever I can.

ok so i've done a little thinking about this (please don't expect much, literally all of my thinking is "little")

so like. i'm still not 100% on this but i think i want martyn to be a triton to keep the mean gills energy alive (even though scott and him aren't REALLY connected (yet? can my brain make this happen simply because i like it? idk))

ANYWAY i've been thinking he was raised by clerics of the listener (a group bigb is also a part of) and assigned as a holy knight to noble ren at a pretty young age. their bond has always been kinda different in that ren doesn't only fully trust martyn but also treats him with the respect he'd afford a friend, despite them having very different statuses. they spend almost all of their time together :) and once ren dives more into his family's past and uncovers hidden ties to the infamous red king, martyn's the first person he tells about it!! and of course martyn wants nothing more than for ren to become the powerful and benevolent ruler he knows he's meant to be ~ <3

hi i was thinking abt what you sent me abt scott and the heart foundation and. i mean it all comes down to scott's whole "being honorable" thing doesnt it? like at the end of last life where he was like "oh ive been honorable all season so im gonna keep doing it" and. well theres nothing honorable about killing the heart foundation theyre barely scraping by as is. Omg yeahhhhh so much of everything he does is trying to keep that moral code of being honorable, despite everything going to shit around him in the death game

People assign so much malice to Scott's character sometimes and it has me ?????? cause out of the players in the traffic series, Scott really is the one who is the most cordial to everyone else, oftentimes to his own detriment!!!!

Literally show him one little bit of kindness and that will be enough to have him not want to kill you, seen in him deciding not to kill Jimmy as boogeyman in last life, him not killing Bigb in the cave in secret life, the entire thing with Skizz both in lim life and secret life.

When Martyn originally asked Scott to help him with his red task by attacking another player, Scott couldn't help because he had no current enemies and was unwilling to start something with another player he had nothing against.

Scott gives food to people who just killed him, he gives swords to people he shouldn't trust, he gives his hearts away just because someone else got hurt, he refuses to try and scam Tango over the genie deal even when doing so would complete his task, he refuses to go and help kill Skizz, someone who has been nothing but kind to him and who is being hunted down just because he has few hearts and fewer allies, he lets people complete red tasks on him that end with him getting hurt, he gives his life away to his friends and teammates without being asked.

It makes me so AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I like playing around with how much each lifer remembers per game and I think my favorite version is our 5 Evo players all remembering Evo. Like it doesn't impact how they play the games that much but sometimes it slips through.

The other four can tell what's going on with Marytn in Last Life just by the way he acts. They all look at the symbol on the secret keeper with the same kind of emotion only they can understand. Bigb and Pearl's "always watching" bit was born because of it and maybe served as a small inside joke. All 5 of them have weird feelings about the End. Grian is making fun (/lh) of Martyn and Jimmy this season and calling them the PP again. Stuff like that you know? The little things.

This last one is more my personal headcanon territory but I also like to think during double life Martyn had moments of being really protective of Pearl? Idk when everyone realized what the loneliness was doing to her (and were subsequently horrified by it) he felt bad for being one of the 3 to leave her and tried to make up for it in his own way? Which may or may not include being rude to their soulmates on her behalf. And going to hang out at her tower and pet the dogs and tell Ren to stop calling her a demon. Because whatever might be going on with them they both still remember Evo, a time where they were friends, and it hurts to see an old friend hurting

Session 7

Red- Failed

Green- Successful

All players who are infected have their task changed, so instead of having the same task at the end of almost everyone’s task, it will just be [infected]. This means their task then changes to Gem’s, which is stated below.

Gem: You are infected with the boogeyman curse. You must kill a non-red to infect them. Once you have infected them, show them this book. Their task (if they have one) is replaced with this. Yellows cannot call out this task, and you cannot re-roll for hard. You succeed when all non-reds have the curse during the session. All infected players can work together. Anyone infected can kill a non-red, but the most recently infected player must be involved. If you turn red, you can choose to be free from the curse by hitting fail early.

Scott: You must ask other players what you can do for them in exchange for diamonds. They set the amount and the task. You succeed when you have made a total of 10 diamonds from at least 3 other players. You must accept their first offer of  diamonds, and cannot convince them to give you more.

Grian: The next mob (aggressive or neutral) is now your pet. You must properly  take care of it by feeding it and taking it for walks. You fail if it dies or yellow calls out your tasks.

Pearl: You must actively break the fourth wall during conversations. You must turn to the camera and provide your inner monologue to the audience and return to the conversation without missing a beat. You can mute to break the fourth wall. You pass if no one has called you out by break time. You must actively participate in conversations. [infected]

Joel: Whenever you talk to another player you must be at least one block higher than them, even if you place the block yourself. You fail if you speak to someone while on the same level or lower. You pass if you successfully do this all session. [infected]

Etho: You are ZombieCleo’s Devil on their shoulder. You have to convince them to do bad and harm others. ZombieCleo has to choose one to act on. You can tell them about this task, but no one else. [infected]

Skizz: You are ZombieCleo’s Angel on their shoulder. You have to convince them to do good and not listen to the devil on their shoulder. ZombieCleo has to choose one to act on. You can tell them about this, but no one else. You pass if you have convinced them to take your advice more than the devil by the end of the session. [infected]

Cleo: Skizzleman and Etho are the angel and devil on your shoulder. You must pretend that you do not know when they tell you their tasks. You must alternate between taking the angel and the devil’s influence on decisions without them getting suspicious. [infected? idk it was messy but they didn’t press the succeed or fail button]

Tango: At the start of the session, announce in chat that you are a Genie and can grant 3 wishes. Only one wish per player. You succeed if you grant 3 wishes, however, you must get some part of the wish wrong (how much wrong is up to you). [infected]

Scar: Become the villain of the server. Grief. Steal. Seek server world domination. You pass if you are actively disliked by the majority of the other players. [infected]

Impulse: Pretend to be the “Boogeyman.” Fake swing at people, place lava behind them with no intention of causing damage, etc. If at least 3 people accuse you of being the boogeyman, you pass. [infected]

BigB: Make everyone believe you failed your task, but when you are asked what is was, you must make up something. You cannot use the same fake task twice. You fail if you are called out and pass if you successfully tell each player a fake task. [infected]

Bdubs: Everytime someone asks you to do something, you have to repeat back what they said in a high-pitched, sassy voice. You pass if you are not called out by a yellow half way through the session. [infected]

Martyn: Task 1: Punch another player into lava. It can be lava you have placed. Task 2: Cause any amount of damage to a non-red using an anvil. Task 3: Summon a mob using an egg to deal any damage to any green. Task 4: Strike a deal with a non-red to cause at least 3 hearts of damage to another non-red. You succeed when they have dealt the damage. Task 5: Mine a big hole underground then spleef a player into taking damage into it. [Unfinished this session]

I’m pretty confident no one succeeded before being infected, but I could be wrong. I also know that not everyone presses the fail button who was infected, but they all technically failed. Idk, this session was a nightmare for me.

On a different note, Jimmy’s whole canary curse with everything exploding after he dies is still very much working. He may not have died first, but his death was still a symbol for chaos to come.

She wanted scar to win after bdubs and joel died, she wanted to sacrifice her life to scar in the end because she wanted her allies to win.

as someone who also has so much homework to do. what are your thoughts on treesekai ren (speaking of treesekai, i actually sent that fic to a friend like a year ago who doesn't watch hermitcraft etc and i remember we had fun reading it and giggling over the anime of it all so tysm for that ♡)

first im glad you two enjoyed it! dont know how i feel about the fact it's breached containment but it is good to know it holds up

second i think all the time about just how lonely treesekai Ren is. ive made posts like this before but Ren is just... he's so lonely. Ren is a character with a lot of love in him, always. he always wants someone to care about. often many someones! he gravitates towards big loyal teams, and he usually spends his time at home building a place for that team to be protected and safe, and is willing to die to defend that home (and he has. twice.)

dogwarts was a big team whose loyalty he took seriously and whose home he died to defend. the shadow alliance had matching skins and, until they went red, all ren's loyalty, and their base of operations was one of the last bases standing bc Ren continually put it back together for his teammates. Ren and BigB died on the doorstep of of box, with ren's last words being about defending it. home and the people in it are important to him

treesekai Ren is the same, but he doesnt really have anywhere to point it. he has a home, but what matters to Ren about a home is that theres people in it. he loves the country he rules but he thinks if he does that hard enough he'll have someone, and he just doesnt. he assumes he can trust his staff, thinks he'll be able to make alliances with other nations, hopes his fiance will be that person he needs. but he isnt! and Ren cant trust him! or his staff! or other royalty! no one else in the world cares about him! many of the people close to him ultimately want him dead!

so, in the game, he ends up paranoid, and he ends up evil, and he ends up dead

but in the fic he meets Martyn, and he gets that connection and affection and care hes been looking for all this time. and like. it fascinates me how much Martyn doesnt know how much hes changed ren's life. Ren isnt evil for nothing--above all he's lonely and hurt. by saving him from loneliness, Martyn saves his life. he could abandon the game plotline then and there, completely forgoing all the normal isekai tropes of running thru every event w future knowledge and picking the best possible outcome, and Ren would no longer die. just by being there and sincerely caring for Ren, Martyn has already achieved the best of all possible worlds. and he doesnt even know it!

i just. i love how lonely he is and how simple he is. he just wants to be loved. he just wants to love someone. he's a dating sim character, after all, and that's the whole point, isn't it? his world exists just so the people in it can be loved, and he's not allowed to have any of that. if youd just give him a romance, he'd be more than happy to be a love interest instead, but he isnt! he isnt allowed! no wonder he loses it. on some level, maybe he knows hes being denied the fundamental purpose for existence in his universe

Okay soo...minecraft persona! I don't have like, a proper drawing of them- just a colored concept but it's literally just their design. I'm too lazy to make an actual drawing rn :p Fanart very much welcome btw!!

Rambling about them under cut

So here's my minecraft persona, Artem.fluid (literally just my normal handle) genderfluid aroace, they/them.

They're a shapeshifter, but this is their preferred form. The purple sorta swirly thing on the left side of their body is excess magic from a past event related to the watchers.

They're extremely playful, creative, and very self depreciating!

As for hermitsona things, I made a relationship chart for all the hermits + life series members that weren't included. Will go more in detail about some relationships below!

Starting with hermitcraft: Wels, Xisuma, Etho, Impulse, Skizz, and Tango all have a back and forth family-like relationship!

Wels, Tango & Xisuma is a father-child relationship

Impulse & Skizz are like uncles to Artem!

Etho is like a big brother.

An honorable mention for the family-like relationships is Hypno! Hypno wants to care and protect Artem like his own child, but Artem just sees him as a good friend.

All other relationships I feel are important to talk about: Beef, Cleo & Gem!

Artem sees Beef as a friend, not a best friend though. Beef is in a weird Grey area where Artem is fine to open up to him, but doesn't feel like they're best friends. Beef however, feels like they're best friends.

Cleo is slowly growing on Artem and Artem is slowly growing on Cleo. Its not a surprise if Cleo turns out like an aunt to Artem.

Gem & Etho in my headcannons are adopted siblings, so by extention this sort of makes Gem one of Artem's siblings because they see Etho like a big brother. They both agreed that they're just best friends.

Onto the 5 life series members that were left out!

Jimmy is the only one Artem has a family like relationship with. They're like siblings in a way, but it's unclear who acts like the older sibling- it always changes.

Martyn & Artem have a strange relationship. Artem sees Martyn as a friend, but doesn't know much about him besides how he had done in the past life series. Martyn however, wants to mentor Artem like a parent. Both have had encounters with watchers and listeners, and he wants to help them with it.

Scott and Artem are the gay best friend duo that you can't stop. End of story.

Artem met Lizzie through Joel, and they both think eachother are chill.

Artem has only had super brief interactions with BigB, and is somehow super intimidated by him.

ok also sometimes I draw Etho with vitiligo (seen in the bottom image) just cause I think that's cool

ummm but yeah Ren has ski goggles instead of sun glasses cause it's winter in the comics and I think it's funnier if he just wears ski googles all the time

Martyn also lives with Ren and I like to think BigB also hangs around Ren's place

Pearl's got an eyepatch cause her red skin has the scar situation happening idk

Scar suffers from some kind of infection at some point perhaps severely limiting his mobility🤔 idk i'm still messing around with the idea

Skizz is always beaten up in some way, shape or form cause it's Skizz but he's also the impromptu leader of sorts... Ren's just kinda the motivator, the one that gets everyone fired up

overall I tried making everyone look a little disheveled™️ cause you know it's the apocalypse and beauty is not everyone's main priority

MIANITE AND LIFE SERIES? oh please,,, please tell me holy shit im VERY normal abt that idea (im lying)

YESSSSSS I AM SO. I AM SO NORMAL (biggest liar)

I'm still sorta workin on the story plot wise but basically I imagine it as like the lifers are brought into like a semi-reset realm of Mianite under the guise that it's supposed to be like a regular life series (but its not 👀!) Ianite's back to being imprisoned and maybe there's also some other underlying happenings Watcher related or not idk haha

(the god followings i mention later on were based off @ranababamboo , they made some awesome art for this crossover u should totes go check out :D)

I think it'd be funny if theyre still greeted by a version of Dec (or maybe Pix or Iskall would make a funky cool prist :Oc) and are introduced to the mechanic of the game- It works similar to Secret Life where they're all given a set of tasks; One from Mia, Dia and Ianite, and based on how they go about the tasks each session, it leads into them forming factions (aka the god teams) with Lizzie starting off with Mianite and later finding evidence of a Marthanite and BigB doin his funky backrooms things (he's set to follow the World Historian how he gets there I'm not sure but if anyone wants to add on feel free! /nf)

Tiem Reester isn't present but I think it'd be interesting if there's like traces of them (implying this takes place post-s2 but funky multiverse relative universe things hehe) I have plans for Jordan and Tom specifically in linking this to their hardcore series from last year I affectionately named Linked Life bc of the whole "if we all die the server resets" but ye. ye ;]c

I imagine tons of shenanigans ensue ofc from both just them all bein the silly goofys they are, and then as they start to form their factions (maybe both by god followings but also if the factions are mix of the different gods too would be interesting to see... Like Mounders with two dianitees (pearl n joel) a mianitee (bdubs) and an ianitee (mumbo) for example👀 As the sessions go on the tasks become more interesting/offputting or odd that are maybe more lore related, like one big one I keep coming back to is Ianite sending Mumbo to the S1 skycage via a book only given to him with a chest of redstone supplies to make a flying machine

How much the gods appear kinda varies, I've already half written this bit that Scott, Tango and Mumbo are the first to see a physical form of Ianite after a redstone-filled night of building and Pearl becoming Dianite's champion so yeyeyeeyeyeeee!!! :D
