Oh are you now? Lol, well I will do my best to provide! 

Let's see... PateDew is pretty open-ended so hows about I hit you with the half-formed vaguely self-insert WIP that’s been sitting in my Google Docs for weeks now:

You’d been stressed out at work lately, stressed enough that two days simply wasn’t enough time to fully decompress. So when a couple of your coworkers invited you out for drinks after work, you decided to tag along. Why not? 

The Roadhouse bar was a bit more… rustic than you’d expected for a bunch of office workers like yourselves, but it seemed like the perfect place to lose yourself and unwind for an evening. It was loud, both from the rowdy patrons and the jukebox in the corner, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and cheap booze and greasy food. Not somewhere you’d ordinarily venture on your own, but it was a nice enough distraction. 

After a couple beers you had a pleasant buzz going. Somebody at the jukebox set Don’t Stop Believin’ to playing and a cheer went up. Grinning widely you swayed back and forth in time to the piano overture and belted along to the first verse about the “lonely girl livin’ in a lonely world”, emboldened by the alcohol and the giggling of your colleagues. 

You spun around, startled, when another voice chimed in just as loudly behind you, picking it up with the “city boy, born and raised in south Detroit”, meeting a pair of brown eyes barely discernible under a mop of messy brown curls. 

And that was how you first met Dewey Finn, both of you belting along to the Journey favorite while other patrons booed and shushed you, pelting you with peanut shells while you both just laughed. 

It didn’t take long to learn pretty much all there was to know about Dewey Finn: he was easy going, funny and energetic and sweet, practically lived at the Roadhouse, and he loved rock music more than anything else. Even when sitting down he was always tapping his foot or thumping his hand against his knee, keeping rhythm with the song playing in his head. 

The two of you were fast friends and the Roadhouse became a regular watering hole for you. Dewey was fun and fascinating, so passionate about whatever topic happened to be under discussion that you couldn’t help getting excited right along with him. 

You bonded quickest over your overlapping tastes in music. While Dewey considered himself more of a purist (classic rock being the pinnacle of human achievement as far as he was concerned), few things seemed to thrill him more than sharing his music with you. The two of you sat across from one another in “your” booth at the Roadhouse, tipsy and giggly, having swapped phones to compare playlists. As expected, Dewey’s phone was full to bursting with AC/DC, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Guns n Roses, Rolling Stones. 

“Oh my God,” he laughed, turning your phone around to show you the screen. “Are you serious?” You flushed, embarrassed, covering your face with one hand. 

“Okay, look,” you began. “I didn’t get to have a Britney phase when I was a kid because I didn’t have any money to buy albums! And by the time I did Britney was considered cringey and I was too young to know that there’s no such thing as cringe! So I have to have my Britney phase now!” 

Your rebuttal only made Dewey laugh harder, his cheeks rosy and his eyes glittering both from the mirth and the drinks. He held up his hands in mock surrender. “Ah, I’m only messin’ with you! Though I’m impressed that you had like a whole defense just ready to go!” He turned his head, glancing around conspiratorially before leaning towards you over the tabletop, crooking a finger at you invitingly. Giggling, you folded your arms and leaned in on your elbows. 

“Not like Britney needs a defense,” he admitted, grinning, rapping the flat of his palm on the table between you to keep the beat as he started singing. “My loneliness is killin’ me!”

Without missing a step you chimed right in, “And I, I must confess, I still believe!” By the time you got to “Hit me, baby, one more time!” you were both almost incoherent from a fit of laughter, ignoring the vocal annoyance of the other regulars seated around you. 

Looking back, you considered that to be the moment you fell in love with Dewey Finn. 

If you were honest with yourself, that moment was probably when the two of you first sang along with Steve Perry, but you couldn’t help feeling a little silly and even cliched. The whole “love at first sight” schtick. 

In an ideal world, you could simply pluck up your courage and come right out and tell him how you felt. In an ideal world, he would tell you he felt the same way. The two of you might even exchange a tender kiss, if the romance in movies was anything to go on. 

But the world was not ideal. 

He did eventually tell you about the bizarre circumstances that led to his current job, which he so clearly loved and talked about constantly. Hearing the whole surreal tale, from start to finish, was a rollercoaster of subterfuge and deceit, plus a dash of identity theft and sprinkled with heartfelt personal growth. You joked with him that he ought to sell the story to a producer, get a movie deal. Jack Black would make a very believable Dewey Finn, you said, and he snorted into his drink. 

So many unexpected things had come about for him as a result of his improbable plan; not just a job but a career, one that he was passionate about, that excited him every day! Reveling in the talent of his students, their eagerness to learn and explore, seeing them progress and get better and better… It was a feeling that he’d only ever experienced before when playing a show, but now he got to feel it almost every day! In his wildest dreams, he’d never have even thought of where he was now in order to have wished for it. If the kids, his amazing, talented, face-shredding students had come as a shock, then their uptight, pencil-skirted, no-nonsense, secret rocker principal had thrown him for the biggest loop. 

It wasn’t until after the two of you had been friends for awhile (and after Dewey had thrown back a couple shots of tequila on top of his two and a half pints of beer) that he told you about Rosalie Mullins beyond “she’s my boss. Sort of.” 

Even Dewey was willing to concede that he took her out for drinks initially as a ploy to get her to agree to let him take his “class” to the band competition. The kiss that followed their conversation at the Roadhouse had been impulsive on his part, he hadn’t even thought about it at the time, there had been more pressing matters on his mind. In the aftermath of his unmasking; between the threats of arrest and homelessness, his adolescent band rallying his spirits and delivering a powerhouse performance; so many highs and lows in such a short expanse of time, it wasn’t until Rosalie Mullins grabbed his face afterwards and kissed him that it even dawned on him that there might be something to it. 

They’d gone out after things returned to normal, but after a few months of on-again-off-again they decided they were better as friends, as colleagues. Or rather, Dewey admitted a tad bitterly after finishing a third pint and another shot of tequila, Rose had decided they weren’t a good fit romantically and didn’t want to jeopardize their working relationship. 

“I really liked her, though,” he said with a sigh, slumping in the bench seat across from you and toying with the empty shot glass. “Smart, classy, beautiful.” You sat with your arms folded on the tabletop, trying not to let it show that each word struck you like a knife in the heart, wanting to be supportive in the midst of his disappointment because that’s what friends did for one another. Regardless of what you were feeling, it was clear he was still carrying a torch for the principal and when he showed you pictures he had kept on his phone you could see why. 

She truly was very pretty, very put -together, as stark a contrast as she could be in her perfectly tailored blazers and skirts to you in your jeans and T-shirts. You couldn’t help but feel ridiculous and petty, jealous of a woman you didn’t know, had never even spoken to just because the man you loved was still hung up on her. 

It didn’t matter anyway, because whatever your feelings may be, Dewey obviously didn’t feel the same about you, not when his heart was still set on Miss Mullins. 

You put it out of your mind, willfully ignoring it because at least you could still be his friend. No matter how heartsick it made you when his laugh or his smile made your heart swell and you wanted so much to kiss him but you couldn’t. You just couldn’t do that, it would ruin everything. 

As the weeks passed it got… maybe not easier to bear, but you grew used to the gnawing ache inside and you learned to ignore it. You barely even noticed it anymore. Things began to change when Dewey left you a very boisterous and excited voicemail, telling you to meet him at the Roadhouse after work because he had “huge, unbelievable, amazing news!” You had no idea what he could be talking about but whatever it was he met you at the door, practically bouncing like a puppy. 

In between corralling him into a booth and placing your drink orders with the waitress, you finally got him to calm down enough to tell you what he had to say. 

“Every year the country club crowd throws this big charity fundraiser for the city, and since a lot of em are Horace Green parents or alums, this year the school is hosting the charity and School of Rock is lined up to play the whole event! Isn’t that awesome?!” 

You beamed at him, his elation contagious. In the year since their formation and debut, Horace Green’s official student band (led by their music coach, Dewey Finn) had garnered a fair bit of publicity with their electrifying performance at the battle of the bands competition. Despite losing the contest, they had been the unequivocal crowd favorite and the school had enjoyed some very positive press in the midst of their growing popularity. 

But a gig like this would elevate the band to a whole new level, Dewey animatedly explained. You couldn’t help getting swept up in his mounting excitement, almost giddy to see him so wholeheartedly invested in the project. Naturally, you offered to be of whatever help you could to help him pull off such an important show. The band deserved it, and so did he. And if it meant you’d be seeing a whole lot more of Mr. Finn in the coming weeks, well… that would just be a bonus.

Wait … I wanna hear these Gurney Rabban angsty slave days dynamic headcanons 👀 please

Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I have so many thoughts, I’m not even gonna rein myself in on this one, I hope you’re actually ready lol. 

Disclaimer: I’ve never read any of the Brain Herbert prequels and I never will, this is all Hannah BRAIN Gurney youth not Brian Gurney youth. Also gonna clarify again that I was Not talking about shipping dynamics lolol

Okay head canon time under the cut let’s goooooo

Alright, where to start ... my little pet dude who wants to kill me. Right. 

So, we’re never told in Dune at what age Gurney and his sister were enslaved by the Harkonnens, nor for how long, or by what means. I imagine Gurney was in his early-mid teens when they were first taken and remained in enslavement until his early twenties or so before being freed by the Duke. I don’t really have thoughts as to how they ended up slaves (being sold to the Harkonnens by another party vs being captured directly by the Harkonnens in some kind of siege on their home world, etc.), regardless though, I don’t think Gurney was any kind of fighter prior to his capture. He was a big enough kid to have him selected to be put in the fighting pits, but it was there that he became a formidable fighter out of necessity. 

We’re also never told how long his sister was enslaved before being killed or the details of what happened to her aside from her being “in a pleasure house for Harkonnen troops”. My thoughts are that she and Gurney were probably immediately separated upon arrival at the Harkonnen keep, and he went a long time not knowing where she was or what became of her at all. Even after learning she’d been killed, I still don’t think Gurney ever found out exactly what happened to her, or (and this is where Rabban comes in, I promise I’m getting to Rabban lol) who killed her. Gurney says a little later in the book that he “owes [Rabban] for the lives of my family”, but I wonder if Rabban really was directly responsible or if, at a young age, Gurney just sort of decided on Rabban as an object of his revenge. If it was troopers under Rabban’s command who did it, then the buck stops with Rabban, like aim high with your revenge goals, you know. I think of this as something Gurney would do to keep himself going. He has absolutely no hope for rescue prior to the day it happens, the only thing he has during his enslavement is his revenge, and killing some random trooper who killed his sister is just too easy. Some dude he might even conceivably fight in the pits if they fall out of favor with the Baron for any reason. Like, He might have killed that dude yesterday. It would be over too quick, and what would he have left to live for after that? But Rabban? like Beast Rabban? Extremely high revenge goal for some lowly little slave kid. Like second highest goal next to the Baron himself. Completely inconceivable. But that’s exactly why he’s the perfect choice, because Gurney can tell himself he has to keep living until he gets to a point where it’s not so unlikely anymore.   

Now where the relationship dynamic actually comes in. In my mind Rabban hears about this little slave kid who wants to kill him so bad. And this isn’t that impressive all on it’s own, every other slave and their mother has beef with him, he can’t get anywhere near the slave-gladiators’ quarters without having dudes left and right yelling about how they’re going to personally kill him one day. But like, we know Gurney, Gurney is just like extra feisty about it. And he’s good in the fighting pit. I think he very quickly attracts attention for being just like an untouchably good fighter, which eventually leads to like special attention from Rabban. (finally Cue: my little pet dude who wants to kill me era) 

Rabban is so incredibly amused by Gurney that I think he inadvertently has a hand in Gurney’s survival. Like eventually every trooper who works around Rabban knows about this one slave that they’ll get literally slaughtered over if they fatally roughed him up by accident. He’s not being pampered, his fights aren’t being completely rigged, it’s obviously still an awful existence for Gurney, but it’s all just careful enough to keep Rabban’s personal entertainment going for as long as possible. He’ll get bored of him soon and probably kill him himself like he has with any other slaves he’s come to see as personal favorites in the past. But the Duke’s raid spoils that and the day never comes.   

Jump forward to like more present Dune times. Something that I always thought was interesting in Dune is how all of the Harkonnens just like name-drop Duncan, Gurney, and Thufir? Like of the hundreds of Atreides troopers and staff and council whatever, Gurney is among those who are enough of a big deal to be known to other houses. Like imagine Rabban coming to this realization that some random slave-gladitor under his ownership came to make such a name for himself. Like Gurney Halleck? My Gurney? My little pet dude?? Who I was gonna kill eventually for fun, but just happened to get caught up in some Atriedes bitch slave raid. Insane. Like having had Gurney’s life in his hands before, for years, and not taken it, he helped Gurney get that far and has a sense of pride over it that Gurney would hate. Especially because It’s not something Rabban did on purpose at all, he had no idea not killing someone could be so good, it’s not his type of cruelty, he’s just not naturally patient enough for that kind of prolonged evil pleasure. Gurney is like the one exception, and the satisfaction at the occasional thought of finally killing Gurney himself, like he figured he would way back when, after Gurney’s risen so high. Oof. 

It’s a mutual fucked up thing in the end. Like living in each other’s brains for completely different reasons that the other could never understand.

There's Fur Everywhere by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (4k, G, Harry/Louis) - this is a 5 times fic, and it's HYSTERICAL. it feels slightly spoilery for me to even be including it on this list, but also... it's still fucking hilarious. emmu is queen of the crack fic that makes you feel all the soft and wonderful things, and she doesn't disappoint with this one.

I Hear Them Calling for You by @jaerie / jaerie (6k, E, Harry/Louis) - this fic is... not for everyone. like at all. please please please read the tags and the summary and if you don't like it or it makes you uncomfortable, then close right out of it. as for ME i loved what she explored with it, all the emotions and the story and worldbuilding of it all. i thought it was fantastic and incredibly interesting. it is A/B/O, pack fic with claiming and... yeah. it's amazing.

Campus Creatures by @kingsofeverything / kingsofeverything and @louandhazaf / YesIsAWorld (25k, E, Harry/Louis) - werewolves! vampires! fae! university! frat houses! science research positions being vied for! enemies to lovers! like... not sure what more you could ASK for, but there's also a fuck ton of humor and nudity and sexual tension and... it's just a lot of fun. can't go wrong, really. haha

From What I've Tasted of Desire by @evilovesyou / 4ureyesonly28 (72k, T, Harry/Louis) - okay so i'm including this one even though like... harry and louis aren't werewolves. but it's a twilight au, so there ARE werewolves and i'm ASSUMING you know twilight and therefore know that means you know they're pretty involved and... that's true for this fic too. ahha for real, though, i love evi's writing and this fic was one of my first introductions to it and it was a fun read, so i wanted to include it in case it had enough of the werewolf flair to entice you haha

Compete Against the Stars by @daggerandrose / amomentoflove (31k, M, Harry/Louis) - omg okay so this one is like ANGSTY AF and i FUCKING LOVE IT because it's one of those fics that you HOPE you have figured out, and you probably do, but also there's SO many twists and turns to it all that you just have NO idea how it's all gonna work out and omg are they gonna just ruin it all for themselves by being stupid and ahhhhh the tension of just FIGURING OUT HOW THEY GET IT ALL TO WORK OUT!!! and of course it does. hahaha but HOW??? this is a RIDE and in my mind feels like a longer fic than 31k in the best of ways, they did an amazing job of packing a LOT of world building and storytelling into those 31k.

the straight for your heart (wolfpack au) series by foreverkneeld and foundfamilyvevo (96k, T/G, Multiple or No pairings including Niall/Louis, Zayn/Liam, OT5, and Shawn/Niall) - This series is the ultimate hurt/comfort and healing pack fic series omg. it was recommended to me when i was in a super hard time and my anxiety was so bad i couldn't focus on anything. These short fics that all focused so much on healing and found family were exactly what i needed. so so soft, so lovely. I still haven't read them all because i'm saving them for when i need them. they're glorious.

when the air ran out and we both started running wild by darlingjustdont (48k, M, Nick/Louis) - OMG OKAY LISTEN THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVS. a tomlinshaw werewolf pack fic?! ahhhhhhhhh i was SO happy when i discovered this one. louis is alpha of the pack and things are... shaky, shall we say. there's a lot going on that he's worried about and then he meets nick and it's kind of enemies to lovers? okay, more than kind of. but omg the FEELS. SO. MANY. FEELS. but also danger and a;lsdgkhas;ldfkja just please read this and rave with me because i don't have many i can talk about this one with and i LOVE IT.

You Smell Like by mystic_believexx (185k, M, Harry/Louis) - i had no idea this fic was so long hahahaha wow ANYWAY louis is human, but he's always been close with harry and therefore basically a part of his pack. but then one day harry leaves and louis kind of accidentally becomes the pack alpha. even though he's human. but there's SO much more to it. there's just sooooo much with the friendship and the pack bond as well as the danger and trying to figure out what the hell is going on... it's just a LOT and one of those epic fics that i still think about even though i read it...a year and a half ago i guess. but it's amazing and i highly recommend it if the word count doesn't scare you away haha

Canyon Moon by @eeveelou / delsicle (41k, E, Harry/Louis) - this is a lion king au, made a/b/o werewolves! i really enjoyed this one a lot, actually, because i could absolutely see the parallels, but also the way it was adapted made it so it wasn't always obvious how it would all play out. it was a really interesting and cool world building as well.

The Truth I Can't Explain (Smoke and Mirrors) by @fallinglikethis / FallingLikeThis (9k, M, Harry/Louis) - ohhhhh this one is SO cool cause it's by tabby so she made it incredibly fun and fascinating to try to figure out. there's magic and mages and werewolves and feuds and they're basically on the eve of battle and holy cow it's just SO cool.

One Touch Is Never Enough by @kingsofeverything / kingsofeverything (4k, E, Harry/Louis) - once again lauren delivers and there's just so much i keep giggling about with this because it is SO fun. there's a lot that louis is dealing with in this fic hahaha and the way she writes it all is so funny. the poor man just wants a fucking massage! lololol it's lighthearted, humorous, and basically filled with fluff, crack, and smut. hahaha

Knot Safe For Work by @jaerie / jaerie (6k, E, Harry/Louis) - a;sldkgha;lfdkjas listen i forgot about this fic until i found it in my bookmarks for werewolves because jenna writes so many fucking amazing fics that when i think of werewolves, i think of at least two others first, but i could NOT do this rec without this fic because now that i remember it exists i am going to have to go and read it again! hahaha harry's a werewolf, louis is a wizard, there's knotting dildos and table sex and... just read it. lolol

Saving's What I Need by @jaerie / jaerie (17k, M, Harry/Louis) - writer louis is out for a drive one day and he hits a dog. THIS POOR DOG! he takes it to the vet and tries his best to take care of it... but things are not as they seem. because yeah, harry is defo not a dog. lollllll this fic was hilarious and sweet and omg there's just so much to love about it. there were so many more emotions in it than i expected. loooove!

Out of the Wild by @jaerie / jaerie (22k, E, Harry/Louis) - this fic has such fun world building, which is actually a huge strength of jenna's fics and you'll hear me rave about it with all 50 of her fics that will end up on this rec list (not really 50, but ya know lol). louis is a fairly wild and undomesticated wolf and harry's from the city and they end up as roommates during the x factor process. oh my word this fic is so fun because of all the challenges they're going through PLUS the wolf side of things and just... the way they work together and navigate it all as well as falling for each other is pure gold.

Out With The Old, In With The New by, you guessed it, @jaerie / jaerie (7k, E, Harry/Louis) - listen, just. this one is smutty as hell and it's gonna take you some places that some people will be uncomfortable with, which is totally valid and fair. please be sure to read the tags and make your decision on whether or not to read accordingly, but also know that its written in a super interesting way that is also pretty amazing if you do decide to give it a shot. lol

Instincts by @marastarfar / StarFar ( 100k so far - it's a WIP!, T, Harry/Louis) - omg listen. i LOVE mara's fics so much and when this first posted it was a one shot little thing that was FASCINATING. i loved it! and then i was happily surprised when i learned more was added to it. and then it was turned into a wip and omg i am so far behind now but i trust mara with my life because i love everything i've read by them and what i've read of this so far is INCREDIBLE so just. yeah. lollll

There's a Power in What You Do by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (7k, T, Harry/Louis) - i just read my comment i left on this one and it was just mainly me begging for time stamps because there wasn't any way for her to improve upon the perfection of this fic (nesting! softness! even a silly comment in her endnotes to perfectly cap it all!), but i still wanted to remain in the story just a bit longer and learn more about them. hahaha anyway, those time stamps aren't happening, but this fic is still complete perfection.

amaryllis by @hattalove / hattalove (147k, E, Harry/Louis) - for a long time this was thought of as THE werewolf fic. if anyone was talking about a werewolf fic, it was probably this one. is that still the case? probably. i'm not sure. ANYWAY. there's a REASON it was THE werewolf fic and that's because this is amazing. it sucks you in and you feel like you're truly a part of the action. it's filled with the vibe of found family and wanting to figure out what happened while also adjusting to your new life and just... so many feelings. so much angst. SO fantastically epic.

Except I realized I do, I just usually smash them into the middle of a long fic lolol. Anyway, inspiration is a fickle mistress, and this one demanded I write it. I'd warn that it's quite angsty, and a little bittersweet, but I'm pretty sure you don't ask for exes fics if you don't want angst. 😅

He reads about the impending nuptials in the newspaper.

There’s a kind of inevitable irony in it. Loki used to always make fun of him for reading the newspaper; old-fashioned, he’d called it, just like you. At the beginning the words had impossibly fond, even before they were together, and Mobius chooses to remember them this way. Chooses to remember the way, a little later, Loki would drape himself into his lap while he was trying to read it, demanding his attention like a too-large house cat.

But Loki is the one who’s wedding would actually merit mention in the papers, the kind of upper-crust old money that would make the society pages and not just the glossy tabloids that assault him near-constantly from the newsstands on his commute. Apparently he’d gotten so good at ignoring them that he completely missed the fact that Loki was engaged; either that, or Odin’s monstrous press machine had managed to suppress the news before it could be properly announced. After all, they’d managed to bury his and Loki’s relationship nearly entirely.

Two years. They’d been together two years, and just about no one knew. Well, it was easy to convince people that their association was nothing more than professional, because who would believe that Loki would date someone like him?

No one, that’s who. Not even his own colleagues at work, who really should have known better.

It never bothered him when they were together. He didn’t care if the world knew, so long as Loki was his. Funnily enough, it had bothered Loki, but not enough do something that would confirm it to the press. Now, the fact that he’d been neatly erased from Loki’s past grates on him. Loki had known this Sylvie—what? A month? And now they were getting married. Just like that.

Mobius tosses the newspaper into the recycle bin and dumps the rest of his coffee into the sink, having lost his stomach for both of them. He just needs to get to work and keep his mind off all of it. Same as he’d done all the days before this. He never needed anything besides his job before Loki. He doesn’t need else anything now.

His experience blocking out the tabloids serves him well on his commute, and by the time he makes it all the way to the department he’s just about put it out of his mind. Well, buried it deep down where it will gnaw at him for a while, until he gets desensitized to the pain.

“Can I be your plus one?” Bea asks, popping out of nowhere as he’s settling down at his desk with a fresh cup of coffee.

“Huh?”

“Loki’s wedding. If anyone here is getting an invite, it’ll be you.”

“I thought you hated all of that,” Mobius says carefully, deciding that the paperwork on his desk is particularly fascinating. “I believe you called it ‘a five-ring circus with two rings come off the rails’. Kinda mixing your metaphors, you know.”

Bea shrugs. “Yeah, but can you imagine what a fucking spectacle it’s gonna be? Plus, the food is gonna be out of this world. I read that Gordon Ramsey is doing the menu.”

“Gordon Ramsey’s an asshole,” Mobius says dryly. “And I’m not going to be invited.”

“Are you kidding? You guys are, like, best friends,” she scoffs, staring at him incredulously.

“Are we?” he retorts without thinking, which only makes the furrow in Bea’s brow deepen. Mobius scrubs a hand over his face. The world has decided it’s going to be one of those days, apparently. “Yeah, fine,” he mutters. “If I get an invite, it’s yours. Now can we get to work? These cases aren’t gonna solve themselves.”

This is a mistake. Mobius doesn’t know why he’s here. Well, he does, but it’s a stupid reason. Loki doesn’t want to see him, or else he would have done so. Nothing stops Loki from doing what he wants; Mobius knows that better than anyone. In the two months since Loki walked out of his life without a word, he’s never tried to contact Mobius. True, Mobius has never tried to contact him either, but he wasn’t the one who did the leaving.

Anyway, it’s all pointless. There no way he’ll be able to get past Asgard’s security, no way to even get a message past it, so this little jaunt across Manhattan will have been nothing but a waste of time, and—

“Mobius? What are you doing here?”

Despite the fact that he would know that voice anywhere, Mobius still doesn’t believe it’s really him at first. Not until he turns, breath lodged somewhere in his throat, and lays his eyes on the person standing behind him. Shoulder length dark hair, curling slightly in the humidity; immaculate bespoke suit with an emerald silk pocket square; wide eyes, more grey than blue in the harsh, chemical glow of the street lights, staring at him in surprise.

And he’s holding a bouquet of flowers. Fuck. Mobius should have never come.

“Nothing,” Mobius murmurs with a shake of his head and a small, rueful smile. “Just passing by.”

“You used to be a better liar than that,” Loki says, stopping him in his tracks. “There’s no reason for you to be on this side of the city.”

Except me, he doesn’t say. He doesn’t have to.

“Maybe I just wanted to say congrats. Saw it in the papers,” Mobius tries. He doesn’t manage to keep the bitterness out of his voice.

Loki is currently standing between him and the shortest path back to the subway, and Mobius briefly considers walking the other direction just to avoid him. In the end he doesn’t; he’s an adult, he can walk past his ex. Or he could have, if Loki hadn’t caught his arm as he tried to.

“Mobius…” he says, his tone fraught, and it is that more than his grip that stops Mobius. Still, he doesn’t turn more than his head toward the other man as he waits for whatever’s coming next. Loki’s mouth opens, and his jaw works soundlessly for a moment before he finds his voice. “I didn’t leave because I stopped loving you.”

It’s like a dagger right to the heart, and Mobius has to look away. “Why would you say that?” he manages, not bothering to hide the anguish in his voice. “That’s gotta be the worst thing in the world you could possibly say. What am I supposed to do with that?”

Loki’s hand drops away, and Mobius looks back over to find him staring at the ground, hunched over with one arm curled protectively across his mid-section. Mobius has to fight back the immediate impulse to go to him, to comfort him, to try to take away what’s hurting him. Loki isn’t his to comfort anymore, and this pain is Loki’s own doing.

“I don’t know,” he mutters. “I miss you, Mobius.”

The dagger twists. “You’re getting married. Or did you forget?”

Loki is silent for long enough that Mobius almost walks away. Almost.

“I’m not. I could never—” he breaks off with a shaky breath. “It’s a sham,” Loki murmurs, then finally meets Mobius’s eyes again. “She’s— she’s got something on me. On my father. This was her price.”

“Marrying you?”

“Hard to imagine, huh?” Loki says, a self-deprecating smile on his face.

“No, it’s not,” Mobius says before he realizes what he’s just admitted. With a little shake of his head, he forges on. “I just— I don’t understand. Why would she demand that instead of just, I don’t know, a ton of money?”

Loki huffs a humorless laugh. “Oh, she’s getting that too. But she’s got—how should I say—a flare for the dramatic. And a desire to cause as much misery as she feels she’s been dealt in life. We’re not actually being legally wed. It’s all for show.”

Mobius is frankly speechless. He can’t quite wrap his head around it, how this could have been the only answer, why it had to happen this way. Surely there could have been another path to take. None of it makes sense, and the explanation does little to soothe the pain of how Loki left him. Somehow it just makes it hurt more.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asks eventually, his voice unsteady. “Why cut me out?”

“I knew it was coming,” Loki sighs miserably. “I knew it would mean my life dissected under a microscope, no stone left unturned. I couldn’t do that to you.”

“You mean you couldn’t handle people finding out about us,” Mobius counters bitterly. And yeah, maybe that’s unfair, but even after all that time, he could never shake the feeling that Loki had been embarrassed to be with him. Mobius was just a regular guy, after all, a mere mortal pretending he could hold on to the heart of someone like Loki.

“No, Mobius. Never,” Loki insists, reaching out to grab his arm. His long, thin fingers dig into Mobius’s flesh through his jacket, clutching desperately as if Mobius might slip away. “I— I thought I was protecting you. I thought it would be easier if it was a clean break. That way you’d— you’d give up on me and have a shot at finding someone who you could just be happy with.” His eyes drop to the ground again, and he bites his lower lip. “Who didn’t come with a messy, shameful past and a circus of a family.”

“Hey,” Mobius says, stepping forward and reaching up to cup his jaw almost reflexively, urging his gaze upward. “I never wanted anyone else. I loved you and everything you came with.”

The smile that tips onto Loki’s lips is utterly disconsolate. “Loved?”

“Love,” Mobius amends, even though his more pessimistic self screams at him not to. “I never stopped. I still love you, Loki. But can’t pretend you didn’t break my heart. When you left, you made my decision for me. I would have stood with you through all of it. I could have helped you, but you didn’t trust me.”

“I know,” Loki says, his voice rough, “and I’ll never forgive myself for it.”

Mobius sighs. “Guess I’ll just have to forgive you for the both of us.”

“Mobius—”

He doesn’t get to finish, because Mobius kisses him. It’s probably a terrible, self-destructive idea, but he does it anyway, because he can’t help it. He can never help it, when it comes to Loki. Loki’s clearly surprised, caught mid-sentence, but he melts into it immediately, his lips parting to admit him, letting Mobius take the lead. He clings even more tightly, his free hand moving up to Mobius’s shoulder and then to his neck, fingers combing up into the short hair at the base of his neck, and for a moment Mobius feels like his heart might burst. Maybe this is a mistake, and maybe it will all end in a fiery ruin, but at least the flames will keep him warm.

“You promise you’re not getting hitched?” Mobius breathes as he pulls away, the words an implausible mix of joking and dire.

“I’m really not.”

Mobius pushes a lock of hair back from Loki’s face, looking searchingly into his eyes. “And you promise you’re not gonna disappear again?”

“Never, Mobius. I swear it,” he says, sealing it with another kiss.

What’s broken between them isn’t fixed, not by a long shot, but in this moment at least, Mobius lets himself believe it can be. It will never be easy being with Loki, but he doesn’t need easy. He just needs Loki. They get lost in another kiss, and though it seems that time stands still as the city hums around them, eventually the distant toll of a church bell breaks through. It is Loki who pulls back this time, with obvious reluctance.

“I’m late,” he breathes, looking down at the bouquet of flowers in his hand.

“Are those for—?” Mobius can’t even finish the question.

Loki’s lips tip into a lopsided grin. “My mother. It’s her birthday,” he explains, and something in Mobius’s chest unclenches. Then, Loki tips his head and says, “Come with me?”

“What, to your family’s party?” Mobius asks incredulously.

“Yes.”

Mobius blinks at him for a long few moments, but he doesn’t seem inclined to take it back, astoundingly. “I don’t know, Loki. I don’t belong up there.”

“You do,” Loki insists, running a hand down the front of his jacket. “You do because I love you, and you belong with me.”

“Ok,” Mobius agrees as he blows out an uncertain breath. Speaking of terrible, self-destructive ideas… but it won’t be, not with Loki’s hand curling around his. He looks down at their intertwined fingers, and believes. “Ok, then. Let’s go.”

Yoosung Deserves Better!

First, this is literally me just rambling so please don't think that I'm attacking you, or any of the other MM characters. Because I love them all, and this post isn't to make out that other characters are overrated or given special treatment because that isn't true. It was inspired by the release of the new Cheritz merch, and how Jumin stans aren't that happy with the 'Does Jumin is Gay' thing being official t-shirt merch because he deserves better.

Let's talk about Yoosung.

There seems to be this shared opinion (I'm generalising here, so please don't take this personally) that Yoosung is this whiney, immature little boy. Throughout all of the routes, the RFA do lecture him for playing games above studying; brushing off his questions about Rika and V as just general aggressiveness towards V:

"Of course he'd be suspicious about V because when is he never?"

"He's understandably upset, because Rika was his cousin-sister."

That seems to be the attitude towards Yoosung.

But I wanted to go through some points and discuss them a little further.

Yoosung doesn't get the chance to talk about Rika without being dismissed.

Yoosung is still depressed and grieving over Rika. We don't really get to know how Yoosung acted immediately afterwards asides from the VN in Ray's route, but you can sort of gather that he hasn't really had a chance to talk about everything going on in his head because everytime Rika is brought up, he is immediately brushed off because "Don't you think V suffered a lot too?"

No one entertains his suspicions for even a second, leaving him to feel insignificant and missing Rika even more - wouldn't you, if the only person who ever took you seriously had died?

Before MC comes along, he fills that part of him with LOLOL. Because he's respected in the game! People rely on him in the game! They take him seriously! They listen!

And upon talking to MC on his route, he talks a lot more in depth about how depressed he actually is. And maybe people found the way he kept talking about Rika tiresome, but it was a natural response.

Yoosung finally finds someone who he can talk to about Rika. Someone who listens with an open heart, makes him feel validated and loved. Of course he is gonna keep coming back to talking to you about Rika. He's needed someone to talk to about it for almost 2 years and you're the first one to take him seriously about his suspicions of V and recognises that his pain is just as valid as V's, regardless of the type of relationship each man had with Rika.

And once we get to Day 7, it becomes clear that being that source of support for him has been a huge help. As for this 'confusing MC with Rika' maybe his situation should be put into consideration. He's never had a girlfriend. The only girl he had ever been close to (that we know of) is Rika (and his mother and sister). So when someone kind comes along and starts supporting him in a way he has craved ever since Rika died, it would get a little confusing for him. Here is this wonderful, supportive girl who is helping him confront the worst thing that has ever happened to him; he can't stop thinking about her, and how grateful he is to have met her. He hasn't felt this happy since he was with... Rika.

The lines get blurry.

But he gets past it! And he separates the happiness he felt with Rika, and the happiness he felt with you because you support him.

His LOLOL addiction.

I've spoken a little about this already. LOLOL is the way Yoosung copes with life. Since his entire source of inspiration came from wanting Rika to be proud of him, getting cut off from that has a devastating impact on his life. He's said that he doesn't have any real friends at university, which leaves his social circle within the RFA (who lecture him everyday for choosing LOLOL over studying).

He doesn't have a reason to work hard. He literally chose his major in veterinary medicine because of Rika. With that in consideration is it any wonder that he likes to avoid school like the plague? His addiction to LOLOL occupies his mind, gives him friends to chat with, and a purpose. It's up to others to decide whether or not that purpose is a waste of time, but for Yoosung it is an outlet.

Within the RFA no one hesitates to tell him he should study hard, stop playing games and live life properly (...or he'll never get a girlfriend). But why is he playing games? The RFA have understood that Yoosung is still grieving, but their attempts to comfort him end at "V would never do anything to harm the RFA. You should just trust him." Beyond that, Yoosung is spoken about as though he is just an angsty teenager.

Yoosung's suspicion towards V is justified.

In Yoosung's perspective, Rika is a healthy and bright woman. She can make anyone happy. She loves to help others. She isn't mentally ill at all.

Then one day, he gets told that she has killed herself.

He'll ask questions, that's just a natural thing to do. Why has this happened if he saw no indication that Rika felt that down?

So he asks V, the only person present when his cousin died. And gets told nothing. She jumped off a cliff into the sea. Full stop. No mention of her mental illness. Nothing. No body was recovered for the funeral. All he has is the word of a man who is known for carrying the burden of things so others don't have to.

Whenever he brings the subject up, 'Remember that time my cousin died and supposedly didn't show any signs of depression beforehand? Don't you think V isn't telling us something?"

It's dismissed as paranoia. Yoosung isn't a stupid person. He's clever enough to have gotten into the best university in South Korea (is that correct?). But because he's young and emotional, his suspicions are dismissed.

He's just sad because his big sister figure died. He's being too emotional because he's young and innocent.

He isn't a lost little lamb. He is an adult. He is allowed to feel as though something is off when it becomes evident that V isn't telling him the full story.

And he doesn't hate V. As previous posts on Tumblr have stated, Yoosung even admits upon finding out about Rika, that V was the victim. The truth was kept from him because it was assumed he wasn't strong enough to handle it. Because it would shatter this perfect Rika image that he worshipped.

It would hurt. Obviously it would hurt. But it hurts even more to know that no matter how much you point out the holes in V's explanation of Rika, people will still consider you as no more than an overemotional child who plays games and whines about V.

Yoosung is not a child. He is not whining about V. He isn't a lazy, good-for-nothing student who only plays video games. He is a person who wanted answers about a loved one's sudden death in order to get the closure he needed to move on.

I hope this wasn't too aggressive. This just popped into my head and I wanted to share. I'd like to flesh this out more, so if anyone has thoughts on this, please share! I want Yoosung to be better understood because his route and character development is so important to me.

he had been dreaming of getting a role in that musical one day

with someone who could do half the justice mc gave that role

and he met them. and he didn’t realize it until now

tries to keep his fanboying lowkey, but loses it when they sing 

they ask to sing the duet with him

but they sound so good together!!

it’s over the phone, so maybe they just sound like someone else 

he really doesn’t notice until he got bored one day and decided to log onto LOLOL, for old times sake

“hey yoosung!” mc says, “look what I got from the store. it was a total score!” 

that was conveniently what that character just said and they sounded the same

jaehee was really into this movie 

zen had a small role, but she was really into it for this one actor

they’re also a little embarrassed when they watch that movie, but they get back at jaehee for it by whispering some lines to her

but he does have a guilty pleasure - which is this one soap opera

*ZEN- When you realized you loved Zen, it hit you so hard you ran out of breath actually you probably out of breath because you were running but whatever- But you felt so guilty because you had a boyfriend??? Like how you were gonna break it to him?- Turns out your boyfriend was cheating on you anyway (but at least he was decent enough to tell you)- and you cried and you cried and you didn’t know you could stop (maybe you didn’t love the guy but you still thought the time you spent with him was precious_- but Zen was with you the entire time, he literally never left you- he stayed overnight at your place with you, comforted you when you needed it, gave your space when you needed it- They say no one can be perfect but Zen is pulling it off pretty well- But it all got better in time, it took awhile, but you were okay- and now you’re ready for zen ;;;)))- but you needed to tell him you loved him with flare- you couldn’t give Zen a normal confession, nah, you needed to be over the top- your solution???- sPONTANEOUS TRIP TO DISNEYLAND WITH EVERYONE- you rope  the rest of the RFA into this bc they’re friends so they have to duh- So of course, when the fireworks are going off the first night of your trip,  and you guys are in front of Cinderella’s castle, the RFA spells out “BE MINE?” while you’re on one with flowers- and Zen has to choke back sobs bECAUSE HOLY SHIT WHAT- SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU HAVE LIKED HIM- he picks you up, spins you around, and kisses you!- he’s not crying you’re crying lEAVE HIM ALONE- you two end up going to a hotel room because you two really need the time to talk and make out

*JAEHEE- she’s absolutely livid when she finds out about your boyfriend cheating on you- who the hell did he think he was? You’re utterly amazing and anyone would be lucky to have you- it takes Saeyoung and Saeran to hold her back otherwise she was going to go over to his place and hit that guy so hard omg- this is really the first time anyone has seen Jaehee lose her cool like this???- but you calmed her down, you told her that you figured out you didn’t really love him anyway, the cheating still hurt but you’d be okay- her heart totally didn’t do a flip when you said you didn’t love him- But she obviously gave you the space you needed, you needed to recover and honestly, she could wait for you forever anyway- she tried to help you as much as she could though- she’d bake you little cakes on tough days, make you coffee on days when you’re especially tired- on your days off you’d actually just help out at her coffee-shop because you wanted to help her - one day, when the shop is closed and you two are cleaning up, you decide to play some music to make the cleaning go faster- and omfg all the songs that came on had to be sappy songs- You absolutely lose it when “I See the Light” comes on because that’s exactly how you feel about Jaehee- You dropped the cups you were holding and Jaehee rushes over to make sure you’re okay- and you just kiss her, you don’t care if she doesn’t love you, she needs to know how you feel- and you absolutely die when you feel her kiss you back- when you pull away she has the dopiest look on her face and she’s so adorable omg- and she faints

*YOOSUNG- when he finds out your boyfriend cheated on you, he actually cries for you- you actually end up comforting him instead- You guys have a heart to heart and there’s so many tears but you confess that while it does hurt that he cheated on you, you realized you were in love with someone else- Yoosung freaks out a little bECAUSE IS IT HIM- of course he gives you your space, he wont push you to tell him who it is- so he spends his time comforting you the only way he knows how, teaching you to play LOLOL!!!- and it turns out, you’re really great at it???- you spend the weekends gaming with him!!!- and Fridays become Froyo day for you two because um, froyo is amazing- one day when you two are having froyo, you see a little bit on his cheek and you can’t help yourself- you wipe it off with your finger and then taste it- Yoosung is dying of a nosebleed wTF JUST HAPPENED- but you totally act normal, you’re dying on the inside but he can’t tell so it’s a-okay-he doesn’t sleep that night- omfg the next day though, you’re playing a level Yoosung created in Super Mario Maker (y’all know where this is going)- Suddenly the blocks start spelling out your name??- what is this sorcery- oMFG YOOSUNG JUST ASKED YOU TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND WHAT IS HAPPENING- you’re lowkey crying but you grab that boy and u mAKEOUT WITH HIM SO HARD- he’s crying too- TONS of snuggling that night omg, he won’t let go

You’re leaking from your face and he’s so fucking lost-*Insert gif with someone patting the other person with a broom*-But if you even ATTEMPT to blame yourself he slides into the room like-”LISTEN HERE BITCH, TRY THAT AGAIN, I DARE YA, I’LL FUCKIN’ FIGHT YA”-He finally just kind of shoves your head onto his shoulder and he runs his fingers through your hair-Without thinking, he kissed the top of your head, and immediately froze when he realized what he did-You look up at him to see that he’s mortified. He mutters to himself, saying how much he cannot believe he did that-He looked you in the eyes, slight glare on his face-”Yeah I mean, I guess I like you… like actually like you…. Stop looking at me like that! I’m gonna take it back if you don’t get away from me” he says, as he pushes your face away when you smile at him-The rest of the night he just kind of holds you closer than he normally would, trying to show you that he does care about you, and wants to be there for you in a better light than your ex- still wants to stab your ex though

It was a normal day at work for her, she was about to finish all herwork to finally head home and meet up with her lovely MC. She was putting allher paperwork in order and gathering all her stuff when her cellphone rang. Thenumber was unknown but she decided to pick up.

“Hello? Jaehee Kang speaking, who is this?” She said, finishing to leavethe office.

“Good afternoon, Miss…We are the police department of the area…We callbecause we went to your house and there was no one there. Miss Kang…we need youto come to the police station because…your acquaintance MC has sadly passedaway in a tragic hit-and-run accident. We’re so sorry to tell you this over thephone…” The guy on the phone kept talking but Jaehee’s heart stopped, makingher blood feel cold and her eyes start to water. It felt like this was anightmare.

“Y-you must be wrong…this can’t be…” Her voice was weak and she soundedso scared. “Miss…we have a file where it says that you are the one to call forthese things…we have body we’d like you to identify at the morgue…”

Jaehee dropped her phone, placed her hand on her mouth, tears started to come out, and her knees started to fail, making her fall to the floor. Her chest felt so heavy she wanted to scream.

Jumin entered her office and saw her like that, which obviously worried him a lot. “Assistant Kang! What’s wrong?!” Jumin got on his knees and placed ahand on Jaehee’s shoulder, making her shake her head and start crying reallydesperately.

Jumin could only think the worst out of this. “They said…MC…M-MC is dead…and…I….”She cried out, hugging herself, unable to finish her sentence. Jumin grabbedthe phone worriedly from the floor and talked to the police himself to letJaehee grieve for a while.

He was at his apartment, playing LOLOL at night, you know, his normal routine. Ithad been a few hours since MC had left the apartment to bring something to eat together. Someone knocked on the door, Yoosung assuming it was MC andneeded some help carrying the groceries or something like that. He couldn’tpause the game but he just stood up to help them since he considered MC waymore important than the game. Yoosung opened the door to a couple of policeofficers making him instantly worry.

“Evening, gentleman. Are you Yoosung Kim?” They asked, making him nodand frown. “We are the area police officers…we came here to give you the badnews that…your acquaintance MC has…been killed at a robbery attempt outside aconvenience store. Our documents say you are the primary contact to call.We..are sorry for your loss.” They looked at him but his expression was blank. “Gentleman…?”One of the officers tried to get close to him but he took a few steps back. “Youmust be wrong. MC is doing fine and I’m gonna call them right now to know ifthey are okay.” Yoosung said, denying the fact that MC was dead.

He took out his phone and dialed MC’s number, making it ring in one ofthe officer’s hands. The police officer sighed and showed a plastic bag with MC’sbelongings inside like their phone and wallet. Yoosung’s eyes started to water andhe felt his stomach somersaulting, making him run towards the bathroom and pukebecause of the shock. The officers closed the door from the apartment and left respecting his privacy.

Yoosung was on the bathroom floor crying his eyes out with the lingeringfeeling that made him feel like he was responsible for MC’s death because hedidn’t went with them to the store and he wasn’t there to protect them. He feltempty inside without MC’s presence beside him.

-ZEN

After his rehearsals he headed home, waiting anxiously to get home tohis lovely MC. He saw a lot of firetrucks outside his house and that made hisheart stop for a bit. He ran as fast as he could to the scene and saw the housewas burned to ashes. Police officers stopped him and asked him who he was towhich he responded with his name.

“So…you live here?” They asked, looking at each other and then at him. “Yes!I live here! Please! Let me see MC! They live with me and…I…I was at work…” Zenvoice started to sound vulnerable, which made police officers feel bad for him.

“Son…your partner…passed away…” One of them said, trying to be as softto him as possible. He looked at them with disbelief and shook his head. “Theyhave to be there somewhere! You can still save them! I can save them!” He said,trying to get past them. Both police officers held him tight so he wouldn’t runto the house and tried to calm him down.

Zen was already inconsolable as he cried his heart out. “Please…let me…letme go…save…” He said quietly, biting onto his bottom lip and giving in to theofficers. “We’re sorry you have to go through this, son…but we found yourpartner’s body and…they are taking it to the morgue…” They pointed out.

Zen lowered his head to look at the ground and you could almost see hisheart breaking while he stood there, blaming himself for not being at his placewhen all of this happened.

-JUMIN

He was at his office, waiting for MC to arrive so they could go get somelunch together when one of his guards came to him and entered his office withthe excuse he had “emergency news”. This of course set him off and worried him.

“What happened?” He asked, looking at his guard. “The car in which MCwas coming to the office was involved in a terrible car crash…MC did not makeit since the other vehicle hit their side of the car…I’m sorry for your loss,Sir…” The guard said, looking at the floor. His heart felt so heavy at thismoment he just wanted to be alone. It seemed unreal but after getting anotification from another guard over text, he started to believe this was anightmare coming true.

Jumin told the guard to leave him alone and the guard obeyed. He restedhis forehead on his desk and started crying, making the tears impossible tostop. Jumin closed the door and after feeling a little shaky, he startedtrashing his office completely, kicking, throwing and punching everything onhis way.

Jaehee opened the office with her spare key and she obviously knew whyhe was like this and why the office was completely trashed. It still shockedher to see him this lost and irremediable.

He didn’t even bother to look at her when he held his bruised fist closeto his chest and kept crying while looking out of the window. MC really didmeant a lot to him and now he felt like his world had just ended.

This was a very dangerous time for them since the agency was mad atSeven for a past job he never completed and they were haunting him until he wascaptured. He always thought he was dangerous to MC but now he couldn’t leavethem all alone when the agency knew who they were. They were being prosecutedin an empty highway, but after several turns he managed to lose them but not for long.

MC and himself ran to an abandoned building where they hid for a while.MC was holding tightly to him as he comforted them in silence, seriously hopingno one would find them. They could hear each other’s heartbeats by being soclose to each other. Seven looked at them and stared into their eyes.

“Whatever happens…please know that I love you…” He whispered to them. Towhich MC responded. “I love you too, Saeyoung…and I always will.”

Steps and fire arm sounds started getting echoing in the building. MC trembled in Seven’s arms and thatbroke his heart, still, he needed to stay strong for them and keep calm. “Herethey are! I detected two people here!” A man screamed.

He hurriedly told MC to run but a they were armed men im every exit. He thought to himself that he was foolish enough to think they wouldn’tfind them here.

“Agent 707, we are taking you with us alive so don’t try anything weird.”The man that appeared to be the leader of all the armed men said. “I won’t do anything…I’lllet you take me if you let MC go.” He said, trying to stay confident about it.The man raised a gun at them and shot it at MC, leaving Seven no time to protectthem from the bullet. He grabbed MC before they could even fall to the floorand held onto them while he carefully layed them on the floor. “N-no…MC…stay calm…just stay calm…” He said, his voicebreaking and his clothes getting soaked with his partner’s blood.

MC knew they wouldn't make it since the wound was bleeding a lot and pretty fast. MC focused on his face before they vision got blurry and placed ahand on his cheek to rub their thumb on their cheek and wipe off the tears. His heart was tearing apart every second he felt he was losing to save the love of his life. MC’s hand fell once their heart stoppedbeating and Seven rested his forehead against theirs while crying. He felt howthe little ray of sunshine he had in the world disappeared and he became empty and dark once again.

Two guys grabbed his arms forcedly and no matter how much he fought back to notleave MC’s body there, they ended up injecting something so he’d pass out. His vision started getting blurry and his body weaker. Suddenly everything went black.

thought someone was making forcibly kissing mc

but as he got closer, he realized that mc was kissing them back, pretty intensely too

and he was devastated. he didn’t know what to do. should he leave? break them apart? get angry?

they looked shocked. and were walking over to him

“zen, wait!” they said, but he turned around and looks like he is about to cry before answering

“what mc?” he asks. they stumble, but can’t really answer him 

“there’s no excuse, mc. and you know I…I can’t be with someone who..”

he was going to say ‘betrayed me’, but he doesn’t want to believe it 

mc knows what he meant and doesn’t stop him from walking away 

he can’t believe another person important to him, especially this one - the one he gave his heart to - betrayed him 

and now he’s alone again. just him, his career, and his bad habits

speaking of bad habits, his bike was still in the garage…

“no,” yoosung said. “i don’t need any books..” 

he looked over at mc, “sorry for bothering you and your girlfriend”

and then he walked off

mc didn’t come back that night. or at all, really. they knew they fucked up

so yoosung isolated himself 

he didn’t go to class at all, practically. he didn’t got to clubs either

but jaehee, ever caring, decided to stop by and drop them off dinner

she dropped the container

jaehee wasn’t even going to deal with it. there was nothing mc could say or do 

she dropped a box of mc’s stuff to their work the next day 

and drowned herself in taking care of the cafe 

she hadn’t seen mc in a while..until they came to the cafe one day

so mc took their coffee and left

while jaehee took a break, getting someone she hired to take care of the counter while she went to the back

and it turns out it did still matter, because she spent her entire break crying
