Who is your least favorite driver?: Sighs, I don't like admitting to this, but...It's a toss up between three. I'll just name one for now - Alonso.

Do you pull for drivers or do you like teams as well?: I pull for both, really!

If you like teams, what team do you pull for?: Ferrari, Williams, Alpine, McLaren.

How long have you been into F1?: I've watched casually (VERY casually) for a few years but I haven't actually FOLLOWED the sport until the start of this season.

What got you into F1?: My fiancé rekindled my love and got me and my entire family into it right after my grandmother passed literally days before the start of the season. He really brought us a lot of light in a time where we needed it most.

Do you enjoy Fanfic/RPF?: I do. RPF is just a fantasy play world, like a dollhouse. Holds no bearing on the real world - as long as you can separate the two, you're good.

How do you view new fans?: No issue. We were all new fans once, weren't we? Some may barge in with wild takes and hell I probably still do, but overall I think they are just looking to find some friends to help them learn the sport a bit better and then will be integral parts of the fandom once they acclimate!

If you could take over as team principal for any team, who would it be and why?: That's such a stressful job and I am not built for stress. It would have to be like, jesus, I can't really pick. I would do no better than anyone up there doing it right now LOL but I guess it would be COOL to pull Williams up from the depths, yeah? Sorry, James.

Are your friends and family into F1 as well?: Yeah! My parents and sister (and BIL) are into it, my grandpa enjoys it, my fiancé, and then a few of my best friends really enjoy it as well!

Are you open to talking to other fans/making friends?: Always. That's pretty much the only reason I'm here aside from just showcasing my love.

I tried to DM you but it didn’t let me so this was my next option I hope you don’t mind. I’m interested in writing fanfiction but I’ve never written MxM before. I’m working on a story but I’m so afraid of type casting Gale into the role of typical “female” i.e soft, needs to be protected, damsel in distress. Do you have any advice on how to not box characters (Clegan especially) this way? Thank you

And I realize the female character does not and in the real world is not subjected to be the adjectives I used! It was just an example of the box I keep trying to fit Gale into for some reason.

I'm not an expert in any way however I think we should firstly reframe the damsel in distress trope as less of a gendered issue (in this case. Obviously it IS a gendered issue.)

But on a deeper level what it really is is a lack of agency in the narrative. There is nothing wrong with having one character who goes through something awful and needs saving/protection/care. And there's nothing wrong with a character being soft! When it becomes (and tbh I don't want to even say problematic, I dislike applying morality to fic) but when it becomes unlikeable I guess you could say is when this character's agency in the narrative is taken away!

If we're discussing plot that would be that we remove the fact that Gale was the one to escape, that he clearly DOES have a very dark part of him that almost killed a child in anger. That he's a bit of a wild man in his own right in the way he flies planes and lets Bucky and Curt get into trouble. He shouts and gets angry and he ALSO gets scared and has these very vulnerable soft moments (after his first mission, in the train, or when he tries to talk Bucky down from their prison yard scuffle) Someone can be soft and sweet and gentle and be multi-faceted and as long as you remember that there is nuance and there's both parts to ANY character I think you can play around with putting that man in Situations without taking away his agency. If he was in a bad scenario he would fight back. Doesn't mean he would win. Doesn't mean he wouldn't need nursing back to health.

The only time that might not be the case is when a characters agency is specifically taken away for plot reasons (Gale being blackmailed into performing oral sex in Kingdom for a Kiss for example)

If we're talking sex I think it's a little bit the same. The person receiving still has agency. They still have want and desire in this scenario they're not just there to take a dick and squirm on it (unless that's part of the sex they have to lie there and just take it) They're gonna WANT too. They're gonna want to grab and bite and move at the pace they want and maybe they don't get to but they're gonna wanna! Sex is a conversation, same as anything else and it takes two participants. As long as they're both in on the conversation.

If you were putting Gale in pink and having him be a sultry flirt and batting his lashes wearing makeup little soft twink like maybe that won't appeal to everyone (and it would to some!!!) like sure that would be ooc. But gay men like that exist and if you can argue for why Gale is like that someone will read it.

@stereobone put him in drag! and it made perfect sense and felt in character bc Roo still understood the core personality of Gale and how to translate that into such an ooc scenario that felt right.

And finally. This is fanfic man, not life and death. If your stuff is OOC who cares? I am a firm believer of ars gratis artis. Write what brings you joy. Maybe people won't like it, but the first person you should be creating for is yourself. The more you write the more you'll figure out that nuance you're looking for.

How did you start doing jobs for kingsisle?? I'm trying to break into the industry as an artist, and I have no clue how to approach potential employers, even just for commissions 😭😭

Hey! So I actually work full time with KingsIsle as a character animator- my job year round is to make pets, mounts, mobs, npc's move :D

How I got started here is kind of a wild story. I had been wanting to reach out to KI about possibly interning with them post-graduation- I had a few people I semi knew at the company, and knew I'd have a good portfolio piece to show them from my senior thesis project. However, three days before graduation, a friend from KI msg'ed me that KI was doing summer internships, and asked if I was interested. I spent the next 3 days building my portfolio website/resume & sent it to my friend. A month and two interviews later, they accepted me! Once my internship was drawing to and end, they were able to offer me a full time position.

My #1 piece of advice for folks trying to break into the industry: MAKE CONNECTIONS. NETWORK. Obviously having dedication and building your artistic skills (whether that's character design, animation, story boarding, etc) is a huge part of it- like you can make as many connections as you want, but if you don't have a decent set of skills/a portfolio to back you up, then you might be out of luck there. But I cannot understate the importance of networking.

So, how do you make connections/network? My advice:

-I know everyone can't afford it, but going to an art school/college is a decent way to make connections- not just with teacher's who have worked in the industry themselves, but also with your future artists. Heck, I've been seeing younger artists like myself start their own studios. You can defo still make connections w/o college, but I just wanted to note that.

-Interact with artists/folks in the industry online. comment on their posts, ask them genuine questions. Most folks are happy to answer questions or give portfolio advice.

-Mentorships are a great thing- also something i see offered on twitter a lot. Some studio's like dreamworks have "internship" like programs where people who have recently graduation or are looking for a career change can apply to and learn from. I'd follow companies you're interested in via linkedin, or visit their websites to see if they offer things like this

-Also!! Participate in anijams, gamejams, art swaps, zines- these are all great ways to connect with fellow artists online. My college has an animation club that does anijams twice a year- which is a GREAT thing to put on your resume- it shows collaboration, dedication- things you need to be open to when working in the industry.

-I'd also say that trying to narrow down what you're really passionate about doing (for me, 3d animation just fit my heart the best) and learn more about it. Watch youtube videos, follow tutorials. Practice your anatomy, do gesture drawings from life, draw as many hands and feet as you can, lol. All things to help strengthen your skills! Consistency is key!!

I know that's a lot of info, so I just want to reiterate something: I've been at KI for about a year and a half now, and I am still just as passionate about this game as I was beforehand. That passion is one of my greatest assets. WANTING to do what I do for work makes working a lot easier, and produces a better product. If you have a passion, a drive to do something, you can do the damn thing. Making connections/being consistent as an artists can feel wildly overwhelming. But it doesn't have to be. You're worthy of sharing your art and ideas with the world, and people want to hear them. Baby steps! Start small. Heck talking to me already gets your started with networking :D

Hello!

I'm Bug or Moth or Beetle or maybe also Siffrin? (I'm weird about names lol), and my pronouns are fluid but generally speaking I'm usually fine with they/it/he. Hello hello, my name is Auto. I am the Hal introject who runs this blog - I would greatly prefer you don't call me Hal though, to the point I will likely ignore/delete requests where you refer to me as such. I use site/click/cursor/install/upload/he/it as stated in the bio.. If you're curious about how to use them, I don't mind making a little table for you either.

I made this blog to draw Homestuck introjects, as I found most of them are inactive. Do note I suffer from chronic pain, so my own activity may be somewhat slow.. Though I assure you I will attempt to be as active as possible.

I will draw any sort of introject - baseline, kidswap, hemoshifts, I will even do non-canon introjects. I noticed quite a few blogs don't do that, and I felt sad about it, as I& myself have non-canonical Homestuck introjects. I may post non-introject art, though. I don't usually post my art on Tumblr, so there's no harm in killing two birds with one stone.

Though, I will say, if requesting a non-canon introject, please send me a drawing reference. You don't need to be an artist to do this - trust me, I'm rather good at drawing from reference of "shitty" art. It's just that even if heavily detailed in description, I fear I might get something wrong, and I'd really hate for that to happen.

This blog is heavily inspired by quite a few similar blogs, like @disabled-stuck, psychostuck, etc.. Please go check out those blogs, they're wonderful.

I am bodily an adult, but I will NOT draw anything nsfw. Basic DNI applies. If you're wondering why I don't write it out, I'd prefer Tumblr's abysmal search engine to not pick it up. I will, of course, block anyone who breaks the DNI, as well as blocking critically.

He told me that he requested some stuff on your page since your writing made him very happy and it always put him in a good mood. Yesterday, my best friend, the one you know as 🥀 anon, passed away due to his own hands. I wish I could've known sooner about him, but in the end, I hope he's happy now.

He told me he gave you a lot to do for his request and that he felt bad about it, but didn't know how and couldn't build up the courage to apologize to you for giving that much of a work load.

He told me that you were his favorite writer, and in his memory, I wish for you to know that he felt happy with your stories, all of them, he praised them so much that it felt like a serious writing critique was made from him. I'm so very sorry that you lost one of your anons, and if need be, I can inform you more on the subject as it progresses. I can totally understand if not.
