Saturday Morning Vid Recs - Women!

Back in January I told @poetikat that I wanted to share just a fraction of vids I’ve seen since I started vidding in 2007 that I love. Taken me forever to format the links into a post to share. I have several more posts half-finished and may show up on your dashboard in following weeks or months.

I'm reccing vids that are at least 1 year old, but most of these vids are 4 and 8 and 12 years old and sometimes older. These vids feature a variety of sources, characters, genres of music, genres of shows. Each of these vidders have their own style and the way they approach a song or a source. I love these vids, they're fun to watch, they're hot, mesmerizing, engaging, thoughtful, full of love and horniness and BAMFs and joy and struggle. I love. I love.

Learning to Fly by rhoboat. Beautiful Boxer (2004). A movie vid based on trans Thai boxer Nong Toom’s life. This song is so good showing her journey to learning to find herself and fly! The song choice and pacing is incredible for this Kenyan sci-fi film. Something has to keep us moving forward. Black Nails by fightingarrival. A League of their Own (2022). A Max vid that is a great look at her journey on the show. This vid makes me want to rewatch all her scenes all over again. Here, take this L. Damned if She Do by chaila. Borgen. This source is the Danish political drama Borgen. Birgette is so kick-ass and this song is perfect for her. She come alive when she dying. I’m in love with River Song so of course I have to rec this. I get high on a buzz then a rush when I'm plugged in you. Counting Stars by beccatoria. DC Animated Wonder Woman. Beccatoria has always done such a great job of vidding animated source and WOMEN!!!! Superstar by @heresluck. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A Faith vid. This (one of many) epic Faith vids to come out of vidding fandom over the years. This vid lives rent free in my head. But I would pay this vid to live in my head because I love it so much. Never gonna be the same again.

Down & Dirty by @sweeter-than. Killjoys. A Dutch fanvid! A++ song choice for a character study showing her relationship with the Jacobi brothers and her general awesomeness. Make way. Cut Like a Buffalo by kiki_miserychic. Empire. Cookie Lyon fanvid! Cookie has all the skin in the game and she is so good at music, but damn there’s so much bullshit she has to deal with along the way. Yeah, you know I look like a woman but I / Cut like a buffalo / Stand up like a tower, tall / Then I fall just like a domino. Control: A Monstress Fanvid by garrideb. Based on the comic Monstress. You know this Halsey song + any woman who has been Going Through It is going to be a fucking ride. Great editing, amazing art. Fortunate One by @moocowmoocow The Expanse. CAMINA!!! DRUMMER!!!! A Sleater-Kinney cover of Fortunate Son is 10 million kinds of brilliance here for Camina and this source. I ain't no fortunate one. Celebrity Skin by @some-stars. Black Sails. This is an Eleanor and Max character vid. I repeat: Elenor and Max vid to Courtney Love’s music. Heed the warnings. This vid is so goddamn good. It better be worth it. Double Woman by starlady. Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame. So much awesomeness packed into this vid. Through the camera lens re-editing history gives imagination to the people. Wu Zetian and Shangguang Jing'er are awesome. Hooray for awesome ladies of the Tang Dynasty! Titanium by giandujakiss. Wonder Woman (the original tv show). She is titanium! Suffering Sappho.

Mirrors by @kuwdora. Snow White and the Huntsman. Queen/Snow. Lots of fantasy imagery and bdsm like themes since the Queen wants to suck the youth from Snow. Sex. Love. Control. Vanity. Lightning Field by bradcpu, a Legend of the Seeker fanvid of Cara/Kahlan. The imagery in this vid is outstanding, the tone the atmosphere. I have rewatched this more times than I can count. Strike me down, Give it everything you've got. Hands Away by chaila and beccatoria. Sarah Connor Chronicles/Fringe. Sarah/Olivia constructed reality fanvid that is constructed really really fucking well that you might forget that these are two different shows. I can't reach you. (Or, two messiahs walk into an alternate reality) Hurricane by @laurashapiro. Farscape and Battlestar Galactica, Starbuck/Aeryn.This vid is so epic and hot and incredible...Hot and sexy and can’t take your eyes off them. Two pilots walk into a bar. I Wanna Go by millylicious, a multi-source action vid Angelia Jolie tribute. This is fun and delightful. Space Girl by charmax. Multi-source space women and girls! My momma told me I should never watch Sci-fi but I did, I did, I did. Celebration by sweetestrain. Pop divas. Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, etc. Another one of my favorites of favorites. The connected imagery between all of these music videos still blows my mind, but goes to show you how pop music continues to build and evolve from each other. Plus sexy dancing. If it makes you feel good. Your Song by anoel. Multi-fandom. One of the most epic sapphic/wlw vids out there. I don’t wanna hear sad songs anymore, I only wanna hear love songs.

Summary: Spike finds out about your secret. He is enraged and hurt. He is seeking within himself what to do.

In the back a figure appears. Darkness consumes their silhouette. He picks a table in the back, away from the multitude of people. He spots her at a distance.

He scowls at her. Watching her dance in the crowd of the Bronze enraged him.  So carefree and distant. He felt like a fool for trusting her. Y/n if that was even your real name. 

He remembered the past with disdain. He was attentive to your words. Watchful of your needs. He listened when you spoke of past loves. He imagined what your life had been when you mentioned you were an orphan. He was there with you. He drank every word as if it were the only sustenance he needed. When you came into his world, found you working for Giles at the Magic Box he became enthralled with your voice. Attentive of your clumsy movements that contrasted your sharp knowledge of demons and the metaphysical. All a rouse. 

How naive he has gotten to have believed that you simply waltzed into his life. What a rube. No one that delightful, funny, and focused could exist without their own secret. 

He was disgusted by her flippant attitude after being discovered. He was even more disgusted that The Scoobies had welcomed her in so readily. However, he did note that Buffy was weary of y/n. How could she not? Another slayer. I’m sorry, a cursed slayer. 

A nearly 1,000 year old slayer cursed by a powerful witch for killing her vampire lover. Who could make this up? Now there is 3 slayers, all varying degrees of fucked up. 

He couldn’t figure out if he was more upset that she lied to him or that she believed he couldn't be trusted. Granted, they had just met. However, they spent 3 months of pure friendly bliss. The banter, laughter, teasing, the knowing glances... all for nothing. 

He was evil, yes, and he wasn't all too honest but she crossed a line. She blatantly became someone else. He understood why. Explaining her past did sound like an acid trip and she did need to keep a low profile to permit slayers step into their power without depending on her. Nevertheless, she hurt him. He thought they were friends! He thought she understood him! No. She pretended. She played him. 

He is cognizant that he omitted his true nature. Downplayed his vampy-ness, but that's neither here nor there. He was mad at her. She damaged him, just like all the rest. 

He watched her move her body with the music. Hips moving steady like a trance. The crowd molded with her permitting her to disappear and become one with the throng of sweaty bodies. He hated it. How could she have so much fun with these mortals? More pretending he guessed. 

He is caught off guard as he watches her walk up to him. 

"Wanna dance?" Y/n's breath is rushed. She is out of air from dancing.

Spike scoffs. "With you? Pass."

She tilts her head; a small smile plays on her lips. "Still mad, huh?"

His lips purse. Anger bubbling in his stomach. He wants to swear at her, grab her by the neck, whisper a threat or two. But he recollects himself, slightly. "This ain't my scene and neither are you."

"Just one song. A slow dance. Give me a chance to explain." She leans in hoping to persuade him. 

"Buzz off." He turns and walks away. 

Y/n is left alone at the table. Smile on her face, tears in her eyes. She decides to go back to the dance floor. 

She understands how she hurt Spike, but she had no choice. Being a cursed slayer was taboo. It brings so much baggage to have to be acknowledged and seen by others. 2 slayers was a problem, now 3 is chaos. Her role is to watch from a distance. Only offer guidance when there is no watcher, or the slayer has gone rogue. Y/n is good at hiding and pretending. Sometimes, like this time, she gets caught and that opens a can of worms. 

In the past her existence has been a source of shock and contention but never of a broken heart. Spike, her dear friend whom she became close to in the last 3months was now battling his own demons in regards to her. She hurt him by lying. She swore by her story, demonstrated genuineness and transparency. All for it to be a charade. 

She pondered how to make it up to him when he wouldn’t give her the time of day... err night. She missed him. His cheeky comments, his smile, the underlying big bad persona, everything. 

The lights dim, the tempo lowers. A slow song. Smooth operator by Sade. She looks back, hoping to make eye contact with Spike. A last invitation. He was nowhere to be seen. 

He's loved in seven languages

Defeated, she walks back to her table with the Scobie’s only to be grabbed by the arm. She's being pulled towards the dance floor. Ready for a fight she whips back only to see Spike. Before she can say anything he guides her hands to the back of his neck, and he places his hands on her hips. They start to sway to the song. 

Diamond life, lover boy

"Well, explain..." Spike says. 

She's taken aback by his words, "um, well... first off, I’m sorry I lied but I had to." A minute passes. They are locking eyes but no words are being exchanged. 

No place for beginners or sensitive hearts

Y/n feels self-conscious. Something that has rarely happened in the almost 1,000 year she has lived. She looks down.

"I was protecting you guys" she starts up again. "I have never met a slayer with friends. It has a different dynamic. More people to account for. I was afraid my reputation would damage what Buffy had, and by proxy, it would hurt you." She looked up again. His eyes never leaving her face. 

"You lied to protect me?" He mocked. "Love, you knew I was the big bad and still you toyed with me."

He's a smooth operator

"Don't start. You did not tell me what you really were. And I was not toying with you. I was trying to keep distance between us."

"Distance, eh? "

She sighed. It seemed hopeless to get him to see her side. She pulled away, hoping to leave things as they were but his hold was strong. She stayed put.

His eyes are like angels but his heart is cold

"What did you think of me, of us?" He questioned her. 

The question threw her off. She stammered. He became irritated. She knew that the only way to get his trust back was to be honest. To do that, she would have to sacrifice her pride. 

"I like you. You're a solid friend. I do not care that others think you're no good, I can see the light in you. And us? I thought we made a decent team, much to everyones dismay."

Smooth operator

He felt giddy. He never had a friend. Someone that valued him. Someone that saw him as he is. 

He mulled her words over, carefully. He assented and pulled her closer. She stilled in his arms for a moment before returning to their sway. 

"I'll allow it. Lie to me again and you'll regret it."

She chuckled knowing his threat was pointless and fake.

SUMMARY: Set immediately after the s7 finale, when Dean and Cas get sucked into Purgatory. They stick together to fight their way back out, running into some old friends along the way... and some old enemies. (Or, Brokeback Purgatory 1.0. Dean and Cas work through their issues in monsterland.)

TITLE: every inch of my life

SUMMARY: Post-season 15, in a version where Dean doesn't die and Cas is back from the Empty. Gabriel shows up with some mischief in mind, hurtling them through classic porn tropes.

TITLE: one more time (WIP)

SUMMARY: Set during the s15 divorce arc. What if Cas got captured by a djinn. What if he experienced his moment of ‘true happiness’ while caught in its dream, and it summoned the Empty. What if Dean saved Cas from the djinn, only to have a portal of black goo open up in front of them?

TITLE: lapse and fall again

SUMMARY: A post-finale fix-it fic where Dean doesn't die. Instead, he pulls Cas out of the Empty. Eventually, after the reunion, there's romance and a road trip, but not specifically in that order.

Story Summary: Steve is dying, but what hurts the most is watching how it's affecting his family, his friends, everyone around him.

Nothing seems to be helping - not his community rallying around him, not magic itself, and not the devoted attention of Eddie Munson. Eddie is a rock and a hurricane in Steve's life. Steve might also be a little bit in love with him.

Then, one day when all other options run out, Eddie introduces him to one Billy Hargrove, and Steve's already-screwed-up life might be taking a turn. But is it for the better or for the more dangerous?

Notes: not all of Steve's chronic issues will be healed. He will always have some disabilities because I ain't about about that 'cure all' shit. They're just saving his life here.

As for the magical pregnancy: it will be in the sequel, so you'll be able to read this as a stand alone if it's a squick for you. I gotchu buddies ❤

Another thing Comic Strange got over MCU Strange Lmao

Dude was getting it on the regular & had tons of women & a wife.

MCU Strange had 1 woman who left & didn’t wanna come back. Then he spent his time as an obsessed stalker in his sequel that took 6 years and a whole Spidey trilogy to get, that ever Cumberbatch said he barely had a character arc in.

If they never consummated the relationship, then MCU Strange may still be a virgin. Writers don’t seem to wanna make him look good.

Or maybe he lost the v-card to Christine, and that’s why he got so sprung. LMAO

But on a legit serious note, MCU Strange & Ben deserve better. They’re doing him pretty dirty. Everyone mentions the nerfing. But the bigger sin imo is his character.

The MoM Christine plot was pathetic. Christine is almost the only thing they give him for a “sad” story. And it ain't that sad. The relationship is under-developed & boring, imo. Honestly did not need any mention of it after the first film when they both parted ways as mature adults, friends, and started moving on with their separate roads in life. MoM regressed that on Strange's end. He was giving Spike (Buffy) vibes in MoM.

Strange is a very tragic character with a lot to unpack. And instead he’s mostly a plot device for everyone else’s story while being depicted as “bitchless in every universe” in his next film because he's too busy obsessing over a dead romance when not being the destroyer of the Universe.

Good GOD!!!!! MCU, do better!!!!

A film dealing withi his past & family trauma would be good for showcasing why he is the way he is. His sister, Donna alone is tragic as Hell and Benedict's thoughts on it are beautiful.

But going further, if they add his brother to the MCU, whew boy! That story is more tragic than Donna, if you can believe that.

We need a Strange film that explores his character rather than damn near everyone around him while he gets mostly shallow story lines at best while depicted as a simp.

I pray, hope, and wish that Doctor Strange 3 will do better by his character. I recall hearing that Cumberbatch has said he's gonna be more proactive in having input regarding the character & development.

Good Lord, I hope so. Because I agree with him regarding MoM - that he was the only person who cared about the character & that he barely had an arc by the final cut.

I will die on the hill that his relationship with America, & Defender Strange sexiness, and Clea were the only good things to come out of that film in relation to the character. Lmao

Also, the third eye looks BAD!!! I hope he keeps it closed in DS3. lmao

I really sort of lost my buffy stan badge around season 6 because I thought it was fucked how she tried to kill Anya but wouldn't stop making excuses for her bf Spike. like being in a house full of young girls fully at this point down with the fact that your boyfriend who's also staying there is a rapist is insane. it's clinically yucky. It's giving send her to the asylum noooowww. but I'm not even mad about that because what I'm really mad about is the fact that Spike's presence essentially castrated Buffy on the show. Suddenly she's getting her ass beat all over the place letting the bitches with extremely breakable arms trample her because Spike happens to be lurking coincidentally in her basement?? he made her dickless. And dickless Buffy bores me. it's like cookie dough ice cream without the cookie dough like are you really gonna let the front man for Mother Mother run your life like it's the fuckin navy like this? is the Billy idol SA edition ass he's throwing you that good? AND WHERE WAS FAITH IN ALL THIS. Don't tell me she was shredding it on the harmonica in dyke prison the entire fucking time the world was ending. Shoulda brought her toxic lovergirl self back into the fold wayyyy earlier. I know she was on Angel- I ain't watching that shit. But that's just me. That's just me.

random thoughts about the 'cookie dough' speech

Buffy Summers : I'm well aware of my stellar history with guys... (sighs, leans beside Angel) And, no, I don't see fat grandchildren in the offing with Spike, but I don't think that really matters right now. (chuckles) You know, in the midst of all this insanity, a couple things are actually starting to make sense. And the guy thing— (sighs) I always feared there was something wrong with me, you know, because I couldn't make it work. But maybe I'm not supposed to.

Okay. I'm cookie dough... I'm not done baking. I'm not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I'm gonna turn out to be. I make it through this, and the next thing, and the next thing, and maybe one day, I turn around and realize I'm ready. I'm cookies. And then, you know, if I want someone to eat m- or enjoy warm, delicious, cookie me, then... that's fine. That'll be then... when I'm done.

Angel : Any thoughts on who might enjoy... Do I have to go with the cookie analogy?

Buffy Summers : I'm not really thinking that far ahead. That's kind of the point.

Angel : I'll go start working on the second front. Make sure I don't have to use it.[starts to leave] 

Buffy Summers : Angel... I do... sometimes think that far ahead.

Angel : Sometimes is something.

Buffy Summers : Be a long time coming. Years, if ever.

Angel : I ain't gettin' any older.

I've never liked this speech, and not just because I find the "warm cookie Buffy" metaphor gross. Like a lot of things in Chosen, it feels like it's here because "something for the Bangel shippers" and "a female empowerment moment where Buffy realizes it's okay to be single for awhile so that shippers will leave us alone" were both on the writers' checklist of things that should be in a BTVS finale, rather than because it made sense for the story and characters.

Buffy having a moment where she realizes that maybe it's okay if she doesn't "make it work" with a guy for awhile feels like a weird lesson to learn. Has Buffy been obsessed with finding the right guy for the past couple seasons? She was never trying to make it work with Spike, they never even dated. Her relationships with Spike and Riley both suffered from her being emotionally closed off (maybe because she still saw Angel as her true love and couldn't commit to anyone else) not her being afraid to be alone and desperate to make things work.

Also, does this speech take place in an alternate dimension where Angel isn't the one who broke up with Buffy, and Buffy "brushing him off for Spike" is the reason Bangel aren't together? Am I the only one who remembers how Angel left her because he wanted her to have a normal life, and he couldn't give that to her?

Despite the fact that Angel's the one who left Buffy, and seems to have accepted the fact they're not together (even when Buffy died, Angel mourned but was okay) in Chosen he's acting like he's been rejected by her, or like he's changed his mind for unexplained reasons and suddenly thinks they could be together. Considering Angel's behavior in this episode and ATS S5, it starts to seem like Angel's sudden pining after Buffy has less to do with him changing his mind about the likelihood of him and Buffy ever being able to be together, and is either triggered entirely by his rivalry with Spike, or by the fact that his family in L.A. has fallen apart, and retreating into an old fantasy of being with Buffy some day is a coping mechanism for him.

I don't mind Angel's bejavior in TGIQ (where he also acts like a rejected ex of Buffy's) as much as I do here, because there it's just transparently played for comedy because the writers found Spike and Angel's dynamic hilarious. And I also like Spike and Angel's dynamic, so I'll take it.

Oh OH, this ford guy is max from Rosewell(or whatever it's called), the one with insane chemistry between him and Liz. Lmao, never watched the show but I've watched gif's of them making out, which are...something 🤤🙈

I like this little moment between buffy and giles. It's emotional, raw and real.

B:- "does it get easy", G:- "what, life", B:- "yes", G:- "what do you want me to say", B:- "lie to me". Damn, I don't know why but it got me.

The last scene between giles and buffy, in the end, got me. I mean this show is pretty heavy and emotional at the times but I feel like it's gonna get much more from here.

Also, the "lie to me", episode title. Perfect for this episode. The theme of this episode was literally "lie to me", the conflict, the delusions, denials, characters lying to themselves. Ford, buffy, Giles, angel, all of them lying to themselves in different ways. Their pain and turmoil. Perfect.

Alright, another solid episode. Honestly, other than one or maybe two episodes, I've been pretty much invested in the show and haven't got bored at all.

I loved this episode. Little more sneek peek in angel's past, and drusilla and damn her past broke me, poor girl. Honestly she can go on a killing spree and I wouldn't blame her, the girl has been through hell. Angel ruined her life because he became obsessed with her? Fuck you angel.

Not sure how I feel about ford, he was a one episode guy so no attachment but like dude just die. It's kinda sad he spiralled that far away.

I really need more angel, I am not gonna lie, he doesn't even feel like a character to me anymore. It's weird how little or Barely he is in the show. I know he has his own show but I don't wanna watch that because ain't no way I am putting myself through cordelia and angel bullshit.

A really great ending to the episode, really liked that they touched on Buffy's emotional turmoil, even if it's briefly.

I guess that's all, loved the episode. Not much xander in it, it was more buffy and angel focus and angels past which included drusilla. Someone needs to get her justice because poor girl.

Imagine if AtS s4 & BtVS s7 were fully utilizing the fact their arcs take place in the same universe and the main characters know each other so it's really one big story. (yeah I know different networks)

In Lessons, Willow moved a flower via magic 6,112 miles from Paraguay to England. She explained, "It's all connected. The root system, the molecules...the energy. Everything's connected."

Buffy turned her house into a shelter for outcasts, orphans, & refugees. Crowded together for months, sleeping on the floor, in line for the one bathroom. It's cabin fever that started the mutiny.

Meanwhile Angel owned a hotel with a huge lobby, offices, elevators, 68 suites (living room, bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom), a few unexplored rooms.

Willow drove to LA to tell Angel that Buffy died. In AtS s4 AI never told Buffy that Angel was missing. In AtS s3 Gunn said she's the "love of his life & that ain't no short life." Yet it didn't occur to them she would want to know or could help find him. In s7 Buffy (a month post rescue) says "I would've given up everything I had to be with--I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life."

Willow could've tethered Buffy's house to Angel's hotel, only a 120 mile distance. Every Potential as well as every Scooby & AI member could have their own private apartment with suites to spare.

Buffy lived in Los Angeles 16.5 of 22 years. It's on her mind in s6 when talking of the hallucinations. "And I was just some nutcase in LA." In s7 did she see the news reporting on the city raining fireballs and a localized eclipse with 24/7 darkness?

In BtVS s1 Buffy was Jocasta (Oedipus' mom-wife) on stage. In AtS s4 Angelus mocks Connor/Cordy saying "there should be a play." In The Puppet Show a demon hunter who had an affair with a Slayer was turned into a ventriloquist dummy. Angel has been a puppet literally & figuratively with the PTB.

Hyperion is named after a titan from Greek myth, dad of Eos (dawn), Helios (sun), & Selene (moon). Does Angel know Dawn is Buffy's daughter?

Greek is big in the verse. Willow writing a Sappho poem in Greek. Anya, "It's like a Greek tragedy." Willow called upon the titan Kronos for revenge on Glory. In s8 comics Buffy's Sysiphus analogy.

Met Oracles--portal connected post office to their realm, entrance written in Greek "gateway for lost souls"--the day Angel & Buffy reunited. "Together you were powerful, alone you are dead."

If the Scooby Gang & Fang Gang shared info they'd realize they were in the same situation.

Ra-Tet (conduit for Senior Partners) were the five manifestations of the Egyptian god Ra. It was the Egyptian god Osiris who resurrected Buffy.

AtS s4/BtVS s7 -- Power That Be/First Evil wants to be corporeal and influence everyone on earth for tranquility/chaos, right hand Beast/Caleb hunted down WR&H/WC, the gang take over the ruins

Imagine Wood meeting Connor (both raised by man grieving the victims of Spike & Angelus).

Faith (bored in Northern CA):

The millennias old Watcher's Council is dismantled and there's a global genocide against the Slayer line but AtS broke Faith out to fight Angelus.

Buffy dreamt of Potentials in September and they started to arrive at her door in December yet Faith didn't know a thing til late April or early May.

I want to do a season by season re-write of Buffy the Vampire Slayer AND part of Angel the Series to include this rando potential slayer that is Wesley's sort-of kid and for the first few "season" of Buffy that "she's" around said kid is like The Mega Potential, like "I love the Slayer life, it's all I want, I don't NEED to sneak on missions because at THIRTEEN I am competent enough to do battle with darkness"."

I want to give this kid an AMAZING arc: in season five, they get full Slayer powers as a boon from Sineya herself, (likely to take Buffy's place, as Sineya forsaw. Also in this, that is not "the Guide" pretending to be Sineya, that's just Sineya).

And the season six, in an arc somewhat parallel to Buffy's struggles with resurrection, The Potential suddenly feels weird about being A Slayer. Actually, at lot of things about being 16 feel different than 13. A LOT OF THINGS.

Surprise! Trans guy! Trans guy Slayer!

Except. Slayers are women.

In a gut wrenching ceremony that takes place in the desert outside Sunnydale, the newly renamed "Torryn" renounces his Slayerhood, choosing himself over his powers. Torryn vanishes from the next few episodes of BTVS season six, instead hopping on over to Angel season three, where has another mini-myth arc. Because yeah he ain't no Slayer, but what's he supposed to do? RETIRE? At SIXTEEN?

He finds what he's looking for. He knew he wasn't the first.

Dark Willow has one more enemy to get through when Torryn returns to Sunnydale calling himself a Hound of Ares and wielding some new tricks. He goes down but not for a few minutes: everyone's very proud!

Torryn's next major appearances are in Angel season four when he shows up to kill Angelus.

Torryn: I had Willow make me a spell that alerts me to this.

Wesley: Killing Angelus is not your responsibility.

Torryn: Is so! He made me promise before he dumped Buffy.

Wesley:...when you were THIRTEEN?

Torryn: He said "you're the only one I really trust to do it".

Wesley: Thirteen.

Angelus from the cage: What can I say Wes, the little freak is a MACHINE!

Torryn survives Season Seven of Buffy and is ready to slay the dragon is Angel season five. Because Torryn is a fucking hero.

Important calls are made and Billy and Steve get a moment to themselves.

Story Summary: Steve is dying, but what hurts the most is watching how it's affecting his family, his friends, everyone around him.

Nothing seems to be helping - not his community rallying around him, not magic itself, and not the devoted attention of Eddie Munson. Eddie is a rock and a hurricane in Steve's life. Steve might also be a little bit in love with him.

Then, one day when all other options run out, Eddie introduces him to one Billy Hargrove, and Steve's already-screwed-up life might be taking a turn. But is it for the better or for the more dangerous?

As for the magical pregnancy: it will be in the sequel, so you'll be able to read this as a stand alone if it's a squick for you. I gotchu buddies ❤
