If you're here about people calling me intersexist or what ever:

The tl;dr it's bullshit, spun by a bunch of transmisogynists who tried to kick up a harassment campaign against me, but most people saw through it as the bullshit it is.

But, anyways.

It started off with this post, where while high I made a dumb post about how a group of tme trans people who still align in some way with womanhood had been calling themselves "afab trans women," which is incredibly transmisogynistic because 1) afab people saying they identify as trans women implies that trans women are not women and 2) "afab trans women" is a concept terfs made up in the 2010s to mock trans women. The point was never about intersex people specifically, it was about people not understanding that "trans woman" is a specific term with specific meanings, and by them trying to use it it implies they see trans women as transmisogynistic concepts and not as a type of woman.

Whether you agree with me, whatever, I don't fucking care. Just block me and go away. But, the blogger status-quo-hater found my post and went on a rant. When I first saw it I had intended to ignore it, but I checked out its blog and found it interacting with someone who has previously intentionally misgendered me and I just decided I didn't need that shit - so I blocked it. Naturally it noticed cuz it was refreshing my blog every second waiting for a reply, and when it found I blocked it, it once again went on a weird rant about me hating intersex people and deleting comments (at the time, the only comment I deleted implied I was a man) from intersex people trying to "calmly" explain things to me (nope, i hadn't even had that many comments yet).

This launched into a bunch of people suddenly reblogging it's addition and saying some weird fucking shit. Insults, misgendering comments, I even got a couple of weird Christian comments ("may god have mercy on their soul" die). So I started using the ability to hide reblogs on my OP of these people and blocking them, and as it kept going it just go too hard to keep track of and decided that, fuck it! If these are the people status-quo-hater attracts, I'll block everyone that reblogs it's additions. And, I tried to do that but again, it got way too difficult, so getting tired of being misgendered and insulted, I turned the reblogs off.

Since then my inbox exploded with suicide bait, hatemail, dumb shit trying to bait me into saying dumb shit (examples), and my posts started getting spammed with comments that 1) were harassing me. no they were not "calm explanations," they were aggressive harassment that at times misgendered me (not all but enough) or 2) a series of people were spamming my posts, one person posting the same comment ten times, which was fucking annoying. So I was deleting comments by this point, and as I went I just started deleting any comment saying negative shit cuz, again, these people run in the same groups and the most "calm dialogue" doesn't look like such when you're being harassed by a bunch of dumbasses.

Tumblr user dabwax left some fucked up comment on my post. I deleted it and blocked her. So she made a post where she intentionally misgendered me. After someone informed her she was misgendering me, she acknowledged it but blamed it on me (for blocking her, she had been on my blog to screencap me) and refused to edit the post to reflect my correct pronouns. Genderstarbucks added onto her post and subsequently took part in misgendering me - a person I never blocked and never had an excuse to misgender me. The difference between genderstackbucks and dabwax though, is that genderstarbucks at least changed the incorrect pronouns after being told (even though the post still took part in me getting harassed). Then, status-quo-hate, a person who's bio literally says

Proceeds to reblog posts calling me "they" instead of my stated pronouns of "it."

I'm not going to keep this up, it's fucking tiring. Instead, I'm going to say that these people are transmisogynistic. This is clearly a disagreement over terminology and at most should have just been us blocking each other, instead both status-quo-hater and dabwax intentionally lied about me, misgendered me, and did everything they could to motivate people to harass me (especially dabwax).

At the end of the day, this is a mostly failed transmisogynistic hate campaign. And, really the only reason it failed is cuz other trans women stepped in to help take the heat off of me (and cuz I started to ignore them).

Exactly one year ago I posted my first chapter of the My Best Friend series. Nowadays I think it's something awful and I don't even try to edit it because I'd have to write everything from scratch, but I've left it for people who feel attached to the story. I remember getting about six likes and one comment on the first day and that huuuuge interest made me eager to create chapter 2 and then all the others.

I remember the excitement with which I waited and then replied to comments, not believing that people were actually waiting for the next chapter. At the time I was literally not following anyone, which was good because I wasn't comparing myself to anyone.

Eventually I felt I was ready to try writing other series and a few were successful enough that I decided to stay here permanently and create because it made me happy. Up to that point, everyone had been very kind to me and I started following more and more blogs, wanting to feel part of the fandom, to make friends with everyone. Now I know that was the biggest mistake I made.

Seeing things that didn't interest me, fanfic's whose way of writing couldn't draw me in, I felt frustrated, while at the same time fearing that if I stopped following someone, that person would see it as an affront. At the same time, The Impossible Choice, my biggest project until The Fall from the Heavens (which I'm currently editing and re-editing, while inserting on AO3), began to be written.

Just when I thought I had reached the pinnacle of my abilities (which wasn't true), I also started to clash with anonymous hate messages, probably the worst of which were those vilifying me and my husband, and those regarding my one-shot with Micheal Gavey. I know now that taking it personally and getting involved was my big mistake, and the fandom was shaken by drama that got out of hand.

I was a few steps away from deleting my blog at the time, but my husband talked me out of the idea (thankfully, as my stories aren't saved anywhere else − I'm only now moving them to AO3).

That's when I first realised that some people here I don't even like, and they probably don't like me. I wondered, why are we following each other then? Why are we pretending to have any courtesy? It was only later that I realised that to be considered someone's friend, you have to reblog their work and preferably agree with them even when they write hurtful things.

Since I've depleted my circle of those I follow to about 20 people, since I've blocked dozens of people and tags, there's been blissful silence (with the exceptions of when I write about behaviour in the fandom that I find toxic and someone accuses me of causing drama, but I'm used to it now). I've also never written happier than I do now.

Ideas come to me on their own, I don't feel uptight about what other big people will think of me, whether they reblog it, approve of it or not. I don't give a shit and life is beautiful! Although I can be emotionally unstable, I'm only 70 people short of crossing the next milestone of 3,000 followers, and that's BIG for me. It amuses me that I keep getting messages that someone is going to block me or stop following me, and you guys keep coming. It's gratifying.

I'm going to keep writing for you guys, and I'm sure during season two you'll also see my posts describing my impressions after the episodes in which I hope to involve my husband. I'll also keep you updated here on how I'm doing with my book I'm creating in my private life.

If you found their take so bad, why did you go out of your way to go to their blog, find the post, and then argue with them? Why didn’t YOU block them first so you wouldn’t have to see their takes? Why do people need to block you, to actively prevent you from interacting with them entirely, for you to not be rude to them?

People will have shitty takes and you will not agree with every post you see — that’s the nature of fandom. You can’t control how other people post or think and that’s annoying, I get it, but YOU can control how you interact with others. The way you were speaking to that person was so needlessly rude and hostile. Is that how you speak to people in real life? I’m so curious as to what your goal was in talking to them like that. Have you seen the original post? I'm guessing not because then you'd know that my reply pretty much mirrored the exact condescending tone used by the OP. I also didn't "go out of my way" to do anything. I've said so before and I'll repeat it again: I got an error while reblogging the OG post, went to check the person's blog for what's up with that and the first thing I saw was them calling people stupid for pointing out that They're Not Correct. I already had the post written at that point and I simply copied it from one tab to another. This is the internet, you post something publicly people can and will interact with it unless you stop them. I didn't block the OP because at the time I did not give a shit if they interacted with me or not, I was just setting straight misinfo I see regurgitated over and over again to the point I'm sick of it. we didn't "dogpile" anyone, what happened was somebody was posting, tagging seebs and commenting on posts, incessantly. specifically, falsely accusing seebs of being a pedo/defender, in response to seebs saying, very clearly, somebody who does not sexually assault children is preferable to somebody who does. it obviously was nonsensical, and I said to seebs that I didn't know exactly how, in the current political climate, people could go out falsely accusing random queer people of being pedos... then the random asshole started replying to my reblogs and telling me to unalive, then started sending me hate messages saying that too because, apparently, just saying "that's bullshit" warrants stupid harassment. having followers myself, this obviously led to those agreeing with me weighing in too, I can't and won't tell people to avoid expressing their opinions when someone harasses me. it's definitely not "calling me out" to send messages telling me that.

Thanks to everyone who voted in my poll! It'll stay up for a few more days but the numbers have been pretty stable for a while.

And the winner is…"reblog with disagreement but if possible reblog the OP, not you", so that's what I'll try and do going forward. I have sometimes worried it comes across as passive aggressive, so I guess I will just say here: it's not! I'm trying to be polite!

Runner up was "it's really context dependent", which is fair.

A couple of people said "private message", and while I said I'd never do that, on further thought I have done that, from time to time, when something felt better discussed in private. My idea of when that is may not match yours, but it's definitely on the table.

To the person who'd rather be unfollowed (or anyone else who'd like me to unfollow them for any other reason): if I haven't already picked that up you're going to have to tell me. (Or soft block me, though I might not realise it wasn't a tumblr bug and just follow you back once I notice >.>) But if you do (politely) ask me to unfollow I won't hate you for it! 1. There's no real algorithm, so your feed is based on people you follow, hashtags you follow and posts you've liked as well

2. Hashtags are like a very specific filtering system to find specific content, so using #high&low in the tags means that it will only show up there and those who follow that tag will see it. But a lot if people also spill their thoughts in them (aka me)

3. The site runs on reblogs. Likes are just someone bookmarking a post, reblogs is where your post gets reach

4. Bots are everywhere. If you see someone follow you that has no posts, a woman as the profile pic and some random name, block it. Blank blogs are also bots (no pic, no posts and a random name). We hate bots on tumblr. I have a post that's helpful, I'll tag you in it :)

5. In the pic below, the arrow is to send a post via dms or externally, the speech bubble is to comment, the circling arrows are to reblog and the heart is a like.

"If you want yet another example of why I fucking hate the Pokeani fandom and the two series they hold up as sacred cows (DP and XY), just take a look at the crap that's up on TV Tropes:

Wow. Notice how literally nothing else about the shows in question (one of which ran for four years and the other for three, meaning there was a lot of content in them) is mentioned at all. Only Ash, and only how skilled/competent/successful as a trainer he is. This single factor dominates the general opinion discourse of the shows in the Pokeani fandom and is what justifies them being named "the best", while other shows like BW and SM (the ones that follow such "tough acts") get constantly put down by comparison. How well Ash works as a self-insert power fantasy is literally all that matters to these clowns. It's so embarrassing.

Oh, sure - SM fans are the myopic ones! And let's check these "flaws" that those fans are "ignorant" about. "Animation and art style being wasted on comedic expressions instead of battles", "shying away from battling in general" and "many questionable writing decisions in important episodes especially the Alola League", which translates to nitpicks about decisions pertaining to - you guessed it - battles. Those aren't flaws. As a wise girl stated yesterday:

Of course SM isn't perfect, no series is….but it is absolute lightyears ahead of XY, period.

More battle stupidity. God, the hard-on these manchildren have for legalized cock-fighting is ridiculous. Fucking Nemona, a battle maniac, is somehow more mature about it than them!

So Dawn is considered better than May simply for struggling and losing more (the exact same kind of thing they scream bloody murder if it happens to Ash) and not getting wins they'd deem "undeserved", in addition to hogging the spotlight at every opportunity even when it isn't called for - usually for fanservice reasons. Her personality is likable and distinct, though; I'll give her that. While Serena is considered better than Iris (who has no elaboration given as to why she's "one of the least popular female companions" as if the reason doesn't make the fans look good, funny that) because…………um, she's more feminine, is in love with Ash, and is given the kind of "arc of Character Development" these fans deem acceptable for a female character (read: a copy of Dawn's). Also, she's not dark-skinned.

The only objectively true statement in this entire blurb is the Mega Evolution specials being different and enticing. Otherwise: "improved writing" (read: back to DP style formula and safeness and fan pandering rather than really trying to be its own thing that's comfortable in its own skin), "action and battle animation" (read: fan obsession with battling above all else being satisfied), "a much more competent take on Ash" (read: a boring, out-of-character, Mary Sue self-interest power fantasy extraordinaire), "a better balance on having Team Rocket threatening at times while keeping their comedic traits" (read: Team Rocket just behaving downright psychotic), "a likable group of companions and supporting characters" (read: characters who are deemed uniquely "likable" solely for how they prop up Ash), and "a good pacing that averted Arc Fatigue" (this one's half-right, the pacing was largely solid…but averting Arc Fatigue was kind of difficult when for the longest time barely anything substantial was happening in the arc outside of the routine Gym Quest. Ash had no real rivals, Serena took a year to find a goal to pursue, Clemont and Bonnie didn't start getting significant focus or development until the second year, Team Rocket had nothing going on, and plot points that might have been interesting long-running threads like the Evil Malamar went nowhere. How is that an improvement over BW, which objectively had more going on in its first two years?)

Finally, this one piece of honesty:

Again, I say: I am so fucking glad that Ash has been retired. I get holding an attachment to a character you've known since childhood, but when it gets to this level of toxic where nothing less than that character being worshipped in-universe will suffice, it's time for them to go."

Regarding the first bit, I myself am mixed on how DP handled the Gym Leaders and how Ash fought them. On the one hand, I AM glad that the rookies in Ash's team didn't get such easy wins unlike in AG, and thus Ash had to actually learn how to adapt to their strategies rather than coming across as a huge Gary Stu, even more of one than his XY depiction. But on the other hand, Pikachu constantly losing to not just Gym Leaders, but even a blatant rookie in the form of Ursaring during Lake Acuity despite taking out a freaking Regice in the immediate prior saga was definitely inexcusable. As far as Unova, quite frankly, I felt they needed to do a far better job at actually retaining Ash's character as a quirky yet ultimately skilled and unorthodox battler without degrading him to basically being an idiot, and apparently treating the Gym Leaders even WORSE than in AG. Though I WILL acknowledge a good thing for Unova was him getting his Charizard back. And it was nice to see some nods to his Butterfree during the Decolore arc. And Sun and Moon, I didn't mind the quirky depiction of Ash as they did a better job actually going back to his roots than Best Wishes did. But I WILL state that they definitely narrowly dodged a bullet by coming close to having his Pokemon Master goal, aka the goal pretty much everyone needed to vest themselves in, the one that literally hooked us into the series as kids, taken away from him (the CoroCoro magazine teaser for Sun and Moon at the time made it sound as though he quit pursuing his goal of becoming a Pokemon Master in favor of "graduating like never before"). In fact, if it weren't for the Alola, Kanto arc (one of the definite positives of Sun and Moon besides Ash winning a league), it would have been very likely Ash WOULDN'T face a league at all.

As far as the bit about Kalos, making him hypercompetent was most likely a mistake, but one thing Kalos did that I ESPECIALLY liked was having him actually be given a challenge by the Gym Leaders, not to mention him actually observing them and coming up with ways to fight them. That did more than anything save for Sun and Moon to outright redeem the Gym Leader profession after AG crapped on them. And personally, if I had to list a series that actually fit that description regarding Gary Stu, I wouldn't even think of DP OR XY, I'd if anything think of AG and his wins against the Hoenn Gym Leaders (with the exception of Brawley and Roxanne, he pretty much handled them the same way Team Rocket was usually handled, and one of the wins, Tate & Liza was a blatant butt-pull).

And quite frankly, I'd argue that if anything, AG was even MORE guilty of the overfocus of battles than DP and XY put together, especially after how they had Ash basically cream the Gym Leaders with a purely rookie team with no real struggle for the rookies barring Brawley. Oh, and managing despite all of that to completely fail to get a rank up (and worse, his Hoenn team failed to beat Brandon TWICE, and instead his Kanto team had to finish the job), meaning even regarding that, it came across as downright pointless.

To be fair regarding Dawn (and this is hardly speaking as a Dawn fan. In fact, I don't even like either May or Dawn and if anything felt IRIS was a step up from the two of them. Her as well as Lillie.), Ash having to struggle in DP, or at least, his rookie team having to struggle, was one of DP's definite improvements over AG (now, having Pikachu struggle is more of a downgrade. Rookies struggling against Gym Leaders is one thing, but having Pikachu struggle, especially after OHKOing a Regice, is definitely not good writing no matter HOW you slice it). As far as Serena, I'm overall neutral to her, but definitely recognize she had extremely bad writing (if anything, I'd argue that she's a marginal improvement over May).

And to be fair to the second-to-last point, most of the points made against XY can actually be made against AG, right down to Ash lacking any real rivals, Team Rocket being grossly mishandled (a complaint, BTW, that Takeshi Shudo himself made about AG's handling of Team Rocket in his blogs before he died, and he voted to keep them in, likely from being pressured by the likes of Hidaka), and ESPECIALLY Ash being a huge gary stu (in fact, I'd argue AG-era Ash was far more of one than XY Ash EVER was. At least XY Ash had to contend with several Gym Leaders that TRULY challenged him, had wins that actually WERE plausible rather than blatantly pulled out of his butt, even had to actually rematch some of them, including the last Gym Leader. At least he didn't plow through the Gym Leaders and reduce them to comparable jokes to that of Team Rocket on their worst days via a purely rookie team). Oh, and also overfocus on battle and action that acted as a HUGE detriment to everyone involved, yes, including May, and even made certain Pokemon of theirs EXTREMELY OP. Heck, XY Ash actually managed to improve from his initial outing by double making back his Unova win to be runner up, while AG Ash by contrast stayed the EXACT same rank as in Johto, and his one true accomplishment in AG, the Battle Frontier, was reduced to a complete joke thanks to Paul, the Sinnoh Gym Leaders, heck, even GARY at the very end of AG.

And speaking as someone who DID briefly come back, what drew me in was Sun and Moon as well as To Be a Pokemon Master, both times to see Misty and to a lesser degree Brock return, and only the latter I actually WATCHED start to finish.
