This self loathing really beating my ass tonight

So basically, my "country", the U.S. territory of Guam, is back on full lockdown with tighter restrictions than last time. We only have 2 hospitals, with low capacity, so one is dedicated to COVID patients and the other for other emergencies. We have to wear masks and stay 6 feet apart everywhere. It was like this since March. The governor refused to lock down too late. We tried to come out too early, and now we have hundreds of new cases every week. But that is only who is tested. We have to turn away people because there are not enough tests, and many people here are poor and rural and would be likely to not see a doctor if sick because as Americans, we don't have free health insurance or transportation. I still don't have any unemployment checks. The government is still processing them. Many small businesses are going out of business. They closed some grocery stores because employees had COVID, it's so hard to find anything in the store. The post office line is extremely long every day. Guam is really not a good place to be right now...but at least we don't have riots and police shooting and tear gassing anyone...because we don't have a lot of police in the first place. I feel awful upon being selfish.. it takes courage to be selfish... you would be alone in the road you undertake. offcourse sad. in reality you are design to live for other people.. sometimes your existence is for the benefit of others.. sometimes i fear that maybe because of not taking the step laid out and continue being selfish and continue not caring for others i would be trashed by you know who since his favorite were not helped.. and you who are only designed to benefit the chosen ones are defective and replaceable.

i fucking hate it here... i hate how people just like me are insensitive... we are all selfish egoistic beings... we only care about ourselves... but what can we do? if we show kindness to others they use us to their hearts content... leaving us frustrated... and taken for granted... so its better to be selfish...
