I love sashisu because they all very much love each other and are best friends but the shoko erasure is so blatant that it makes for a very interesting dynamic. Like yeah obviously she was part of everything that happened. Not that any of them would realise if you asked them though.

ive got an essay due at 3pm tomorrow and ive not even looked at it i am so so unserious about my degree and by the grace of some higher being i somehow keep managing to crawl through it's actually getting a bit funny

#me and an old friend of mine used to have a running joke during a-levels that im just one of those people where shit Works Out #and it started bc we shared two a-levels (english and economics) and in BOTH classes i regularly didn't do the homework #or the reading etc and yet it would ALWAYS work out for me #like we'd walk into a class neither of us having done the homework and they'd get yelled at while i went under the radar somehow #or that one english essay i got the highest score in the class when i literally hadn't even read the fucking book it was on #and when we pointed the theory out it started just becoming really prevalent #like no matter how late i am for things i'll arrive and by some miracle the thing im late for is also late (e.g a train or teacher)#like im just one of those people that has very very mundane luck #and low and behold i am fighting this degree with bloody fists putting the absolute bare minimum in for my own sanity's sake #and i SOMEHOW keep pulling through. literally failed two modules last year and STILL got a 2:1 average #and the last essay i wrote was the worst essay id ever done in my life and i get my standards are higher bc ik im good at essays #but the point still stands and you know what? i got a FIRST #literally was pure waffle i have never blagged it so hard and i got a FIRST #and all this shit just makes me cockier and cockier and go even more by the skin of my teeth and it ALWAYS WORKS OUT #it's soooo silly but im not complaining. anyway ill keep u posted about this essay <3 it's econ history so is actually interesting #but the most ive done for it is ask the sc ai lmao and for context degree-level essays usually require a good few days of graft #live love laziness #hella goes to uni

I've been listening to the Inkopolis Memorial Remix and I've been wondering why Octavio would make a remix dedicated to Inkopolis of all things story-wise.

Then I figured, What if Octavio and Callie both gained a better understanding of each others' worlds through one another?

Callie, despite having her brain remixed by the Octarian leader, found such a deep appreciation and understanding of Octarian culture and society that neither she or Marie could've ever fathomed a year earlier. And Octavio, despite his low view of Inklings, found a better appreciation for them through Callie (Probably reminds him of Craig when they were younger)

I like the idea that Callie willingly stayed underground with Octavio for a while to take a break from her career and personal issues in Inkopolis. She felt like she couldn’t really go to anyone when Cuttlefish, 3, and Marie were all busy and gone, so during a visit to Octo Valley, Octavio decided to take advantage of that fact. He convinced her to break him out through that temptation of escapism. And, impulsively, Callie accepted. She made more music collaborating with Turquoise October and gained a huge following while still being anonymous, something she couldn’t get in Inkopolis.

They both would obviously be really hesitant of trusting each other, being on two different sides of a finished-unfinished war, but Callie put it aside and didn’t think too hard about it. Eventually, they started to trust each other, maybe Octavio opened up about how it is trying to lead a deteriorating nation, or Callie starts reminiscing with him about playing with Marie as kids. Little things, y’know? At least until Octavio broke that trust with the introduction of the Hypnoshades.

Her relationship with Octavio might’ve been broken at that point, but he changed her whole view on him and Octarians as a whole. Octavio was similar, Callie brought a new groove to Octarian society, he saw her become a hit and bring joy to his people underground and maybe to him too. His negative views on inkling society I’d argue changed a lot because of Callie’s influence.

I figure the brainwashing planned from the beginning, but she still left a impact on him. Enough to get him to develop the Inkopolis Memorial Remix, which I think would be a very nice, bittersweet explanation.

#i don’t know words I forgot several of them while I was trying to make this-#but yeah. it’d be neat to see more Callie content with octarians/Octavio cus that’s such an interesting concept to me #Octavio’s just kinda forgotten after rotm-#like. no one mentions him no one tries to help him #he helps us save the world while trying to find his missing soldiers and like. not even a thank you or acknowledgment from the squidbeak #splatoon #jall rambles #Callie splatoon #Octavio #if this is hard to understand my bad #HERE U GO TO THE PPL WHO WANTED THIS!! ever since we figured out my husband, his sister, and his cousins are all autistic, the possibility that i married into an entirely autistic catholic family where all of the older adults are undiagnosed is kind of objectively hilarious tbh. everyone's autistic drives compel them to need a bunch of alone time but everyone's catholic cultural mores compel them to put family first and repress the hell out of themselves. no wonder they're all passive-aggressive as hell to each other all the time and got mad at me when i didn't pick up on how to do "family" that way. i literally did get catholic religious trauma-by-proxy lmfao

#text #ik i haven't been on here a lot lately but my husband's grandpa passed away on new year's day #and that seems to have like... clicked something in both my husband's and my MIL's brains somehow?#(not that i'm saying it's a good thing he passed away. everybody liked him including me; he seems like he was a remarkable person)#like my husband was like ''oh shit vik actually is right about this neurodivergence stuff'' both in himself and in his family #and my MIL actually seems like she might have taken it to heart when i called her out for acting like a grown adult bully lmao?#like she hasn't apologized yet or anything. but now that my husband understands his own neurodivergence;#HE might be able to explain to his mom how she likely has RSD and i wasn't actually rejecting her #i personally struggle to explain this to her without freaking out that i'm not masking enough for her and/or getting angry :)#but ANYWAYS she did not yell at me at the funeral which is a minor victory for now lol #and the funeral was literally the day after my thesis proposal so i am exhausted af #(the thesis proposal went well too btw. i passed & will defend my thesis for real in a couple months; so i'll FINALLY be doctor vik!!)#so that's all the updates for now o7

uh oh gang I miss musicals

#aarrggh it's not like I haven't tried/liked any since lockdown started. I enjoyed watt lihn and rtc.#and it's only sort of that I don't know what's up in the current/recent theater scene #I could simply look up what's on and what cast albums have come out lately and pick something #and there have been plenty of cast changes and new productions for stuff I already like!#honestly I think the thing stopping me from getting back into musicals is that I've had a few computer changes since 2020 #and lost most of my bootleg collection so I don't really have ways to get new recordings of things I want #and I gather that most of that has moved onto private discord servers in the last two years anyway #and I just neither have the social skills to easily get into those circles nor the money to buy videos direct from masters #like. my friend and I were foiled THRICE from seeing the 50th anniversary jcs tour and they've said several times #that the best present I could get for them would be a video of that production so we could finally watch it together #but I don't even know where to go anymore to check if a video of that tour exists and I doubt I have anything worth trading for it anyway #most nothing problem in the world ik ik. but like. ;-; wanny see me shows...#sorry for being a bit maudlin about musical theater nonsense I'm not expecting any 'there theres'#I just can't really complain about this stuff irl without going through four layers of context first #marina marvels at life
