my take on the hateno house is that when link bought it in botw he did so with zelda in mind - link does not see the point in buying a whole house for himself when he's always on the move anyway, but he knows how tired zelda is going to be when she gets back, and he knows she can't exactly live in hyrule castle anymore. so he sees a house about to be torn down and something compells him, like, this is the perfect place. a cozy house in peaceful hateno village. and they are of course living together leading up to totk bc all evidence points toward that but that's the reason everyone thinks of it as zelda's house, because link despite buying it and paying for its repairs was never its true owner. it's zelda's house because it was meant for her. when they got back after defeating the calamity link opened the door for her and went, here. this is for you.

(and of course this leads to the comedic situation of zelda trying to find the least awkward way to tell link that the house he bought for her on vibes alone was actually his childhood home.)

Your lovely all of a sudden made me interested in the time travel fic not something I would have chosen on my own especially a 25+ chapter one, I have a disability with focus and attention problems among other things takes quite a bit to get interested in the long stuff thank for showing it 👋 a new favorite

AAA YES!!!!! Another resounding review and sign to GO READ Take the World by Storm by geokat!!!! It's probably the most ideal long running time travel au fic that I've read :)

Geokat rlly knows how to write a time travel story that caters to my interests, like I've read time travel fics (across many fandoms) that just rewrite the whole story's events, and it can feel kinda repetitive cause ur just experiencing the characters goin thru the same stuff again, but geokat acknowledges that the strawhats wouldn't want a repeat of the same adventure!!! It actually feels like it's own story rather than just a fix-it with geokat incorporating their own lil islands and adventures into this world :D They are really good at writing all the characters interacting with eachother and AND ANDDD I'm really glad you enjoyed it!!!

Though unfortunately, as much as I love long running fics as they have a lot of good build up, I am a very impatient person... WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE MY SPEEDRUN CRACK AU THAT BRANCHED OFF IT!!!!

honestly i think if it werent still weirdly important to me that al be like. A guy who explored + thought about gender + realized he was still cis despite being/feeling very Gender in many directions (ykwim) i wouldve made him nonbinary already...he'd still be he/him as i genuinely cant see him being comfortable with any other set.

But idk the nonbinarism can definitely still happen considering he (+ other ocs) has/have already evolved a lot and can always evolve more. Like it could go either way, his reasons for ""staying"" cis cld easily be the reasons he "realizes" he's nb ykwim? Just like how Real People all have their reasons. + him being nb would actually still fit my being a sucker for having pairs that are Opposites in multiple ways in the same way him being cis is atm etc
