Y/n, a curious mermaid with a knack for trouble meets a human named Bakugou Katsuki. Bakugou, a curious human also with a knack for trouble meets a mermaid named y/n. Interspecies relationships- and even friendships are not allowed in the Mer-creature kingdom. And if people found out Mermaids are real then Y/n would be fish food. Love is hard as fuck.

You first met the blonde human when you were swimming near the shore. You obviously went supposed to be doing that but you were curious. You wanted to see humans even though the danger they hold could kill you.

He was walking on a bridge- well, more like stomping. He looked absolutely pissed, red face with steam practically radiating off of him. He was mumbling things under his breath that you couldn’t make out.

You left after a while of watching him, the sun was setting and you had to go home and catch fish.

The next time you saw him he was lounging by a doc in your special spot. Your beach was in the woods, secluded off unless you knew where you were going. There was a round, yet deep swimming area that sparkled a beautiful light blue. There was also a waterfall that was pretty high up. It was a magical place that you were glad to claim.

You watched from behind a big rock as he fed the ducks. He had a whole loaf of bread that he would break off into small pieces to aggressively throw at the ducks.

You called a duck over with a water wave made by your tail. Most mer-creature could talk to a selective few of animal.

“Who is he?” You whispered. The duck cackled, “Just some human boy. He comes here to feed us every day.” You asked for his name but the duck just flapped his wings. “I think his name was Katsu? I dont know, I’ll try to listen in.”

You thanked the duck and let him go fight for his snack.

Katsu? You thought that name rolled nicely off the tongue.

You continued to watch him from secluded areas for the next 3 weeks. You almost got caught a few times. He would hear you speak a little too loud or make too big of a splash and he would yell “WHOS THERE?” It started you enough each time to not come look for a whole day.

One day when you went up to look for him he wasn’t alone. He was at beach side of it this time with a couple other humans. One with red hair, one with green hair, pink hair, and brown hair. You picked up on their names after a while. Kirishima, Midoriya/Deku (?), Mina, and Uraraka. Later on some more named Kaminari and Iida showed up.

You watched them play around and practically beat each other up. Humans are so weird.

Apparently, Katsu lost a bet. Well, you learned his name was also Bakugou, Katsuki, and Kacchan. You’ll stick to Katsu since theres so many.

Kirishima dared Bakugou to jump off of the water fountain. You almost yelped out a protest once Bakugou agreed. It wasn’t safe! There were weeds at the bottom which would grab you and never let go! You had been working on getting rid of them all but there were still a few left.

And just as you thought, once he jumped he was stuck. You watched as he struggled under the grip of the weeds. You couldn’t just let him die! Before you knew it you were swimming over there full speed.

He looked at you threw wide eyes, you could tell he was loosing his breath. He tried to say something but only bubbles came out. You grabbed his face ad signaled for him to open his mouth. He did almost immediately, he must’ve been getting desperate.

You shoved your mouth against his, blowing air into his mouth which he greedily sucked up. You weren’t supposed to do that and you knew you’d be questioned and scolded for even letting a human know you existed. It was called the eternal breath. It allowed him to breath and talk under water with out it being drowned out for up to five minutes depending on how much you blew.

You signaled for him to breath and he gave you a crazy look. His cheeks were flustered and he didn’t know what to do. You hoped that wasn’t his first kiss or something, even though it was yours. You leaned into his ear and whispered, “Trust me Katsu.”

A wave of relief hit you once he did it. He looked at you in bewilderment, “What the fuck?! What the FUCK?!” You flinched but still made you way down to his feet. “You have a fucking tail?! What the fuck is going on?!” You shook your head, “No I don’t.” “What the FUCK!?”

You cut him free with your nails and signaled for him to go. He shook his head, “No! What kind of shit is this?! You have a tail!” You groaned, started to blush at the way he looked at you. He was even more handsome up close like this. “Either you leave or your gonna die in 1 minute once my breath wears out.”

You heard him yell after you once you began to swim away. You hid behind the entrance just to make sure he got up okay. You were on the verge of tears, you could get in so much trouble. What if he’s a bad guy and he’s gonna call his human hunters on you?

You practically gasped when he decided not to tell anyone of you. His friends crowded him, some in tears asking if he was okay. He just swatted them away and told them to fuck off. On that note you left.

You didn’t come back for 2 weeks. You were scared of coming back to traps and spears. The ducks reported to you instead. He has been coming every single day and staying for not just his usual 10 minutes but 3 hours. He sits there studying the water and calling out to any sudden movement from nature.

You couldn’t help your curiosity after that and the next day you showed up to watch him. You watched as he ate from his basket of what you think is called… Fruits? He lounged on the dock with no shirt on. His skin was tanned and golden.

You practically jumped once he called out to you. “Hey!” You dove back behind the rock. He rose to his feet, “No, no, no! Come back!” You slowly peaked behind the rock. He smirked, whispering “I knew you were real” before holding out a red fruit. “I got this for you.”

You came out behind the rock more to study the apple. You hissed at him thinking it was poisonous. He gave you an offended look, “What’re you scared of a fucking apple? Look.” He took a huge bite out of the thing and chewed. You watched closely as he swallowed it. “See?”

You sighed and finally just swam over to him. He sat down right off the edge and held the apple out to you. You quickly grabbed it and swam as fast as you could behind the rock.

You took a suspicious bite, it was… delicious! He chuckled as your face lit up. You took another bite, giving him a quizzical look. “Come here, ill give you another one.” You hesitantly swan over to him. But just as you were about to grab the apple he yanked it above his head. “Tell me your name.”

You glared at him, crossing your arms around your chest. “You can have all my fruits if you tell me your name.” You thought about it for a second. You could be hunted down for this. And you could be in deep shit if the council found out. But for some reason, you trusted this man.

A loud huff came out of your mouth, “y/n.”

HII THANK YOUUU!!!!! IM GRINNING LIKE A MANIAC RN DONT MIND MEEE teehee but YEYSSYEYSEYSEYYSE tysm for asking abotu the designnnn augh i loooove designing things its so fun to me!!! putting this under a cut because WOW i went crazy

i had a Vision for this design it was (as i put it to a friend) a "drowned love-struck sailor but also a guy that seems like he Lives at the beach but he's so ethereal you SWEAR he's a mermaid or something". like sirens and sailors but more emphasis on the sailor part

here's my moodboard/reference board!! i knew i wanted puffy sleeves and super flowy fabric but i wasn't sure what Else to add so i went to pinterest (of course) and saw like the fishnets and the pearls and ya i went insane. i didnt end up adding any pearls or as many ruffles in the final design but i think the whole beach/ocean aesthetic got across pretty well!!

for colors: the only thing i had in my head was WHITE FLOWY SHIRT because i love drawing them and it just Fits the vibe i was going for. the blue gradient on the sleeves makes me think of drowning? like being in the ocean for so long that blue is just a Part of you now even though that doesn't really happen its the VIBE of it okay. being engulfed by blue being engulfed by the sea nd you're drowning..... aughh. also the collar is a type of scallop collar because i wanted it to be different from a normal white button-up okay. a lot of my design process is Is This Cool and How Can This Be "Functional" (either in design [adding color or shape] or use [actual function])

there's also the long sash for more color and more flowy action!! and those pants are also supposed to be loose and flowy you just. dont see them in the final piece lol.

another thing about the colors: i tried to contrast from the blues i was putting in the sleeves and the sash with the warm browns that you can see in the net shirt and the ribbons on the sleeves and the net-like accessory on the left leg and the addition of nets Really adds to the whole theme that Deep Into You has going on of being "drawn in to the point of drowning" and the whole sailor thing too

couple notes: the net shirt would be like a tank top and i originally was thinking of having sandals for the shoe choice instead of what i have now and honestly now that im thinking about it again sandals Would be cool. but for an enstars outfit that they have to dance in? those shoes are fine actually

about the jewelry: i added the star clip a little late but it's supposed to act as a larger version of a tie clip? or like a brooch but with More stuff on it. also YES the earrings are mussel shells (i didn't know it was a mussel shell when i drew it i was referencing just a shell i had on hand) but aughh like mussel shells have so many pretty colors in them theyre like iridescent and i wasn't able to put that much detail in them at such a scale which is sad but its ok i think it still turned out really beautiful... i should draw shells more.

i have a bit of an issue that maybe you could give some insight onto?

so my school has a fun day next week where we can all dress up in costumes and play games and hang out with our friends all day (its our school feast day), and the theme is 'work it' where you can dress up as your dream job or what you want to be when you grow up!

so my friend group decided we were gonna go as a 3 person rock/pop band! its going to be so fun, we have bright pink inflatable electric guitars and mics!

but my problem is that i dont know what to wear bc i have to dress up as a popstar and i have no idea... my friends are really confident in their outfits and their normal style is very like, tank tops/miniskirts etc, which is basically the vibe of the popstar band yk?

but im not as confident in a tank top or a short skirt though.

ive been trying to develop my style and its very all over the place, i kinda hate it... but i just have no idea what to wear? i dont even know what type of clothes i like to wear in general so maybe this is the root of the issue

anyways that was a very long rant im sorry it was so long and this is probably really hard to answer :(

so maybe just a bit of outfit advice, popstar inspired (also got to be warm, its currently winter) and maybe some overall style advice too if you're willing?

what to do with the costumes ⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

ok so FIRST OF ALL before i say anything !!! i just wanna say the number one most important thing in this whole situation is that youre comfortable and feel confident in what you're wearing! the name of the event is a fun day but it wont be very fun if you feel insecure the whole time 😣 your friends are going to be comfortable in the clothes they're gonna be wearing and you deserve to feel the same! + if theyre your friends im sure they wouldn't mind :)

you can totally look like a popstar without a tank top and miniskirt! the examples/fixes im gonna give below will depend on what you feel comfortable with, feel free to modify as you see fit!!!!

tank top -> baby tee

above is my queen maisie peters certified pop star 😋 i feel like tank tops and baby tees give off the same vibe, not sure why but its good because if you're uncomfortable with the amount of arm a tank top shows, that can be fixed with a baby tee!! you can also wear a more oversized tee like maisie in the second pic if youre uncomfortable with how tight a baby tee is!!

2. long sleeves!! or a cute jacket

i considered grouping this w the first one since its the same thing just long sleeves if youre completely against showing any arm and/or you'd be cold (since you said its winter)!! i cant find any examples of artists wearing long sleeved tops unfortunately i think thats cz they probs dont get cold when performing on stage for hours 😫 BUT YOU CAN ALSO WEAR A CUTE JACKET!!! i dont like to wear jackets that much since i find them overstimulating n claustrophobic if that makes sense, but yk who does !??!

ms brina herself 😋 i LOVE her first outfit w the blue n white leather jacket so much! i feel like it combines the harsh and soft in one piece of clothing rly well ☺️ im gonna be saying this a lot throughout this post, but find fun jackets like sabrina's above !!!

3. tights!!! bonus points if theyre fun

if you still wanna wear a skirt, you can always wear tights if youre uncomfortable with the amount of leg a short skirt shows !!! i feel like some star patterned ones would be SO fun for the pop/rockstar theme as well 😫 you can even get coloured tights to match some other aspect of your oufit 😋

ms olivia rodrigo is almost always wearing fun tights!!! i couldn't find good pics but just look at some concert vids of her and you'll probs find lots of examples 😚

4. skirts come in all lengths 😊

we are so blessed to have skirts in all sorts of lengths on this planet!!! if you're still uncomfortable with the idea of wearing a mini skirt, wear a longer one! I LOVEEE maxi skirts so much i have a crazy amount of them in my wardrobe 😫

i feel like maxi skirts come in a lot of fun styles and cuts and patters n wtv, so theres lots for you to choose from! you could make it the centre of attention and wear something like the first one, or you could wear something simple like the second!!! if you do wear a maxi skirt id def pair it with some chunky black boots to add to the rock/popstar edge like in the first pic, or maybe even a chunky belt !! belt doesnt have to be on properly u can wear it the way they did in the 2000s (idk what this would look like tho so forgive me if its atrocious

i know shes wearing a dress in these pics but im using it as an example of having your legs completely covered and still serving popstar!!! her black boots are a VERY good example of that too, def broke the softness of the pink dress and gave her a little edge ☺️

5. pants !!! bonus points if theyre fun (again)

if youre 100% sure you dont wanna wear a skirt at all, then wear pants! just like the tights, i'd def try to get some fun ones 😋 using maisie peters as an example again LOL her outfits are perfect for this

i hope this helped with the first bit!!! i feel like rock/popstar isnt a uniform, its a VIBE and these pics prove it 😊 if you wanna match with your friends id focus on matching colours instead of clothing types! also dont forget you get to do your hair and makeup & that will def help add to the pop/rockstar look 😚 AND ALSO ACCESSORIES !!! ive said this a lot but id wear some black boots for sure i feel like you could wear almost anything w black boots n get away w calling it pop/rock star 😚 there are sooo many options for you to choose from !! id def search up "[artist name] stage outfits" if you want more inspo :)

general style tips ⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

okay so this is something im still working on myself LOL i'll try to give some tips based on what i've gathered!!

pinterest is your best friend. ive been hating it lately because its only been showing fugly pics for my boards BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND CUTE OUTFIT INSPO ON PINTEREST!!! think about outfits other people have worn that you've liked & search up either more outfit inspo of them (if theyre a celeb/famous) or whatever aesthetic that happens to be part of !! make a style board and add a few pics you like and eventually pin will recommend some things you might also like 😋 since you said you dont know what kind of outfits you like, i feel like looking at outfits you've liked on other people is a good start 😊 try to look for people with similar features as you as well:)

think about outfits you've felt your best in and outfits you've felt your worst in!! once you've got them in your head, think about why you felt that way about those outfits/what aspects you particularly liked, and find outfits and pieces with similar aspects (using pinterest again). i feel like a lot of us dont notice we're wearing an outfit we aren't comfy in until we take a bit of time to think LOL. for example, i rly dont like wearing black unless its jeans/pants or a skirt (basically if its not the main focus of an outfit LMAO) i feel like every time i wear black as the main focus it doesn't rly match w my personality and i rly like when my outfit and how i feel on the inside match!! so i just completely eliminated black tops from my wardrobe LMAO i have a few ones that r exceptions, but you will rarely ever catch me in black!

think about what suits your complexion/features too! theres a lot of stuff about soft winter cool autumn on tt but i dont mean that LOL i find it confusing 😭 literally j wear things of diff colours n see if it suits you or washes you out! id recommend having a family member or a friend weigh in on this too since sometimes other people see things you dont 🤔 bonus points if this person is very blunt/honest since youre guaranteed the truth w them !!! when i was younger i was obsessed w wearing red but it looks HORRID on me like idk what's in the colour red that just completely washes me out and makes me look like a zombie 😭 luckily my mom brought this to my attention and now u will never catch me in red either !! ive also been told i look good in whites/creams, baby pink and baby blue, so i try to incorporate those into my wardrobe more!

remember that its okay for your style not to fit into a specific aesthetic:) i feel like these days theres so much emphasis placed on the aesthetic youre part of, but i find thats not really realistic since we're so complex as humans you cant j fit one person into a single aesthetic 😭 dont worry if you feel like your outfits are too different from each other or wtv, what's important is that you feel confident in all of them! your closet is a YOU aesthetic, not vanilla girl or clean girl or downtown girl or anything 😊 use the aesthetics for inspo, dont force yourself to emulate them 100%

do a wardrobe detox!! i do this every once in a while LOL make a pile of yes, nos and maybes! once youre done, look thru the yes's and nos and think about why they ended up there 🤔 ALSO make sure to donate your clothes or give them to your sibling (i give a lot of things to my sister LMAO) or smth pls dont j throw them away because so many people are in need of clothes esp now that the weather is getting colder !!!!

remember that this will take time! clothes aren't cheap most of the time, and unless youre very rich you cant just buy a whole new wardrobe in one day 😫 embrace the journey of finding your style!!! imagine yourself as a fashion student in a movie if that helps LOL and be proud of yourself for taking this step! definitely start with buying pieces that are more versatile and can be paired with multiple things so you can rewear them a lot while fixing up your wardrobe! 💘

hi! i definitely dont mind, this is such a fun ask so i'm SO SORRY ive only answered now 😭 also im horrible at explaining my thoughts so please bear with me...

1. jujutsu kaisen

i can go on and on about jjk but I'm trying to keep this short so I don't go on an endless rant. OKAY. i love the power system of jujutsu, it's simple but also pretty flexible and creative, i love the historical and traditional aspect of it + how it ties into clan culture, i love how it branches into barrier techniques, reverse cursed technique, binding vows, etc. for characters like gojo in particular i love how he's pictured as the strongest and how akutami shows the gap between him vs all other sorcerers, like he was in a whole different league and how his birth changed/tipped the balance of the world of jujutsu. i love the whole "saving others" thing like how yuuji wants to save everyone, megumi wants to save good people, nobara wants to save the people who mean alot to her, gojo thinking abt how he can only save people who want to be saved, geto wanting to save sorcerers from non sorcerers, etc. i like how the series has aspects of history (like how sugawara no michizane was a sorcerer and how his descendants include the gojo clan is ⅓ of the three main clans of the series, and basically the entirety of tengen (lol)). i love the anime adaptation and how crazy the animation is (when s1 came out i was alr baffled but after watching s2 and looking back at s1 im even more impressed at their development), the manga's artstyle i was a big fan of but now not so much (the scratchyness and alternating thick and thin rough lines around the time of shibuya arc were PEAK). besides that as a buddhist myself, the multiple buddhism references in the series really cemented my love for it as it felt familiar and it feels like ur getting a shout out esp since most shows feature themes of catholicism and christianity.

2. blue lock

i'm honestly unathletic af idk why im here. i think what hooked me was the whole individualistic + egoist concept and the elimination setting (like squid game) 🙏 for me blue lock's prime is [2nd selection, 4v4] until the end of [u20 arc], i really liked the art style during that period! sadly, i feel blue lock has fallen off ever since the current NEL arc, it feels as if theyve deviated from the original ego concept (fuck this whole "protagonism" thing man wtf) and the artstyle has undergone changes im not particular to. also the anime wack af.

3. bungou stray dogs

im going to be honest. i did NOT like bsd. s1-s3 was too all over the place for me and i really did not get the series at all, i actually thought it ended but then they released s4 & s5 in 2023. almost a year since s4 came out, i came around to watching it and i got HOOKED, i think a big factor was that there was less fillers and a lot more action scenes, plus the detective vs mastermind thing truly popped off in s4 + s5. besides that, i enjoyed the introduction of new cast and the return of previous ones (now as allies). sure, there's plot holes and the anime cuts off a handful of scenes but it WAS an incredibly enjoyable watch. plus i'd say bsd has mountains of content (atleast in comparison with other serieses) because besides your usual manga, anime, and occasionally stage play adaptation. you have the alt univ. BEAST, light novels like stormbringer or 55 minutes, wan!, and even bsd gaiden (which has nothing to do w the main series)

4. haikyuu

THE classic. it was the first anime i got into when i started quarantine and it brought back my animanga phase. i love how the characters all have interesting stories to tell, their own motivations and personalities. lots of teamwork, teambuilding, found family(?) aspects, plus all the themes have their own specific themes which i dig a lot (ex. inarizaki and their foxes + shrines). plus i love how this series captures the thrill of watching sports, it MIGHT be overexaggerated to some but i get lightheaded when theyre at match-point and on the verge of losing so it does provide some kind of high. OH and i like that they show realistic wins and losses.

5. hunter x hunter

i have not read the manga but this show was serious to me. i'm a sucker for meta and power systems, and nen is like... actually insane. i love the characters SO MUCH, the variety of designs and appearances, how the series shows the way they grow throughout their adventures and experiences, the way they show a character's relationship with the rest of the cast, etc. it also gives a somewhat nostalgic vibe? i love the opening, endings, OSTs + narrator. it truly does feel like ur tagging along on their adventures, it was a real tearjerker for me tbh.

6. avatar: the last airbender + the legend of korra

i think atla is an amazing show bcs 1. cool setting and world building 2. the cultural references 3. cool dynamics 4. character personalities and development 5. cool power system and fighting styles 6. found family etc etc... ITS A COMPLETE PACKAGE. im p sure not much are fond of tlok but i love it. i think some reasons include the fact that korra isnt like aang, but i think thats what makes tlok interesting, korra is 17 when the show starts and the show continues to follow how she grows and develops into a fully realized avatar both physically and spiritually. i also think its bcs of how they modernized bending and how lots of the cultural aspect is lost but i think its an incredible and interesting way to showcase real life modernization.

7. jojo's bizarre adventure

jjba CHANGED ME 😭 this series is actually insane like if it was a person please get it to a mental ward. i think as an artist, it holds a very dear place in my heart. the show itself is absurd and unbelievable so it keeps you on your toes (dont mind the plot holes and inconsistencies, at some point you're just gonna have to live with it). but the selling point for me is the characters, everyone has amazing, colorful and distinct designs that match well with their personalities and overall air. not to mention the artstyle and references in everything to everything? lol. the show's different parts also feature different main casts, dynamics and storylines, sometimes they do a callback to a previous part.

okay! it was very hard choosing between the 7 of them but i think they actually were the ones that truly left an impact on me. thank you so much for the ask i finally got the chance to ramble about the stuff i consume 😭😭😭 there's a lot of media I'd love to talk about and mention so maybe one day ill make a post on hopefully all the media ive consumed.

i started genshin in 2021 when 1.3 came out, i was dead serious about this game during quarantine. i love liyue so much its what truly got me hooked (everything from the music, the sights, etc. for me liyue/pre inazuma was prime genshin), i enjoyed building characters and doing showcases too. started losing interest when sumeru came out and slowly stopped logging in/playing daily. the reason i wont put this in the actual list is bcs im pretty clueless about the new characters and story, nor do i have much interest in them. (i came back to do the lantern rite event, love the new liyue regions!)

i love action and fights, especially when they feature powers, so liking superheroes makes sense 🤷 DC gets shit on alot bcs of the DCEU but the films aside i like DC better than marvel. im particular to gotham and the batfam, it's just more dark and gritty, plus there's lotsa drama going on LOL. the gotham knights cast also branches alot like to young justice (I LOVE YOUNG JUSTICE 😭), teen titans, titans, birds of prey, and ofc justice league.

my blorbo my beloved my babygirl he means everything to me

i made him in 2017 so hes sort of grown up with me (or i've grown up and realised things about him that i couldn't have when i was younger. i have so many complicated feelings abt this that i made a short comic about it last year)

to preface this im not a great writer dont expect good writing from me lol all i have is my personal experience and stealing tropes from stories i like

(got a lot to say so its all going under the cut. also a lot of death mention)

So. who is this dude

Tsuru (not his real name in-story, i havent come up with one im happy with), 18 years old, a ghost

he has a little sister, Ori, 15, who was meant to be my sona but then i just drew him more and like drawing him more anyway

first 2 drawings i ever did of him. he was based off natori natsume yuujinchou at this point, i dont remember why or if i even liked natori that much, but i remember distinctly hes based off him

u may have noticed he sort of looks older in my older art. this is because first of all art style drift lol but also as ive gotten older ive figured out that 18 isnt actually that old.

theres also a black haired version of him (two actually) its basically something like this ⬇️

important to know that everything about this dude is a convoluted metaphor

i lovingly summarize white tsuru as "people pleaser" and black tsuru as "nihilist prick" in my head and those are the things consistent throughout all the AU versions of him

(important differences only to me) alive tsuru doesnt act like black tsuru at all thats just his warped self perception (he also doesnt act exactly like white tsuru either)

also alive tsuru has black eyes and the shortest hair, black tsuru has blue eyes and slightly longer hair (also white tsuru is slightly taller than both of them)

if they all existed at the same time they would hate each other on sight but fortunately (unfortunately?) he is just 1 dude with issues

the general vibe is white tsuru is the "yippee floaty trickster" brand of ghost and black tsuru is the sort of ghost in horror media that stands just outside your field of view in the darkness dripping with blood

for the longest time only white haired tsuru was a "character", "black haired tsuru" existed just as his corpse at most, a footnote

but over the past 2 years ive figured that hes actually really fun to draw and play with, and in a different way than white tsuru

(wait fuck isnt this just abe trio. i do always almost accidentally draw tsuru when im trying to draw haruaki.... fuck.....)

halls smp

so ive been on this minecraft roleplay server called halls smp with other artists for the past 2 years, theres a new season of it every few months with a different theme each time to keep things fresh and ive just been making AU versions of tsuru for it so ive had a lot of opportunity to think about him

season 1 - halloween - jiangshi tsuru

this one is almost entirely unchanged from his base characterization because i didnt want to rp too much and also didnt know there would be future seasons at this point (also basically after the first day i gave up on being called "tsuru" bc its too hard to pronounce and everyone called me canada anyway)

same basic story, guy dies and theres now a white haired version of him (actually this is the same for all the AUs). in fact im pretty sure the black haired version of this one is exactly base alivetsuru. basically what ive been interested in exploring is different kinds of death, the events leading up to it, and what kind of person he becomes afterwards (but also in equal amounts im interested in making fun designs and playing minecraft and fucking around)

(this feels like the start of the beginners guide...)

i associate him with doves and at the time, tarot card 18: the moon, but in retrospect i now think he's card 0: the fool.

season 2 - winter - ishmael

guy who died at sea and eaten by a interdimensional whale and got isekaied. loosely conceptually based off moby dick, although i havent actually read it LOL but i did spend a week reading up on drowning and hypothermia

strangely, his death didnt create a white haired version of him, perhaps because he didnt have anything in life to give up his identity and replace it with. (and also remember the hair color doesnt actually mean dead/alive)

im only calling him ishmael now in retrospect, at the time he was just tsuru/canada

while designing him i had the biggest crisis bc i didnt want him to look to much like this old old oc i had (pic 1) but then i sucked it up and went with it anyway

i never got around to drawing it but his fingers are black from frostbite thats why he wears gloves all the time.

hes one of my favorite iterations of tsuru he looks so mad or upset all the time it makes me want to tease him, and also i think the grey skin and eyebags are very cute

i associate him with whales and tarot card 18: the moon

season 3 - golden grove - fox tsuru

honestly i think this is my favorite design of him i kinda popped off. i think im just a lot more comfortable working with warm colors. and also i associate white tsuru with foxes anyway (black tsuru is totally a catboy btw) (why is he not associated with cranes if his name is tsuru you ask?? bc cranes are hard to draw next question. he did start out based off cranes tbf, thats where the white hair and the tallness comes from)

dead fox possessing his dead human friend's body (although thats only the most literal interpretation of events; in all these iterations there's only ever been 1 person) the white tsurus are mostly interested in "moving on", whatever that means to each of them

hes sort of a set with s2 tsuru to me, mostly bc theyre the ideals that "white tsuru" and "black tsuru" hold taken to the extremes, and also theyre on opposite ends of the "hates people hates talking" and "loves to talk and mess with people" scale

anyway. hes tarot card 10: wheel of fortune to me

season 4 - wild west - mirage

the desert dragon, mirage. this is the season i started giving them actual names that arent "tsuru" and putting actual thought into the story lol previously it was just vibes-based character design. i have a short thing written about him thats meant to be the script for a comic, but i never got around to drawing it.

a sandworm-esque dragon that got tired of being a dragon and took up a passing witch's offer to give him a human form. this is all a metaphor i think. he has longer hair bc i wanted to spice things up a little

(also i consider this a form of death bc he left behind a giant sandworm/dragon skeleton somewhere in the desert)

the mirage-dragon thing comes from the shen 蜃 (which is used in the chinese word for mirage, 海市蜃楼 haishi shenlou, literally translating to "ocean city and shen's castle"). it's a clam-like dragon that produces foam that creates mirages over the ocean.

if u read "even if you slit my mouth", this is what the "shinkiro" or "shin" in recent chapters is. (i had one of those "smug because i already know all about the mythological creature a story is referencing" moments, which i also had with the four gods in yohaji bc i used to translate a game that mentioned them too)

isnt it romantic in a way? that the two places mirages are most known for happening are the ocean and the desert.

i dont have too much art of him because around this time i was uhhh (checks calendar) got back into yohaji and got consumed by it for a couple months lol (can u even blame me. it was july to september that was when like chapter 91 came out lol)

an earlier version of his design that i didnt end up using but i still really like this art

season 5 - fairytales/medieval - ophiuchus

NO FUCKING WAY YOURE NEVER GOING TO BELIEVE THIS for this one i actually ironed out what kind of people the black haired and white haired versions of him are. and also specifically this one isnt black tsuru but alive tsuru

i have a short poem thing about him, to summarize its like so many other fairytales about grateful animals granting their saviors something, but it doesnt end well for anyone

hes based off ophiuchus and asclepius of course, but also a lot of other snake stories in general, like the lindwurm and baishezhuan

to reiterate, for none of these stories do i consider there to ever actually have been 2 separate people, its always just 1 fucked up guy

i also sort of consider him to be a set with mirage, for both being serpents, and also for being "black tsuru whose personality is like white tsuru" and "white tsuru whose personality is like black tsuru", thereby codifying for myself that to him, someone who's stuck in his own head a lot, what matters most to him is his ideals, what all his actions are in pursuit of

bonus: dnd character - alba

i also have a version of him i play for dnd, named alba to match with my party who all have color themed names. a halfling ranger who's very small and very loud. except he has amnesia and cant remember anything from before he was 12 (hes around 18 now according to him), including that he's actually a changeling who just transformed into a halfling to seem older than he is to work at a bar and nearly died in a bar fight.

(if you spend as much time fretting over semantics as me, you may note that changelings are medium sized and cannot transform into halflings which are small sized, for which my explanation is that he's been in halfling form since he was a kid, and after the amnesia he thought he actually was a halfling. this is also why his hair is white btw bc changelings have white hair. pre-amnesia in his "actual" halfling transformation he had black hair. i care too much about semantics but hey isnt dnd the semantics game anyway?)

anyway congrats alba for being the only version of tsuru that hasn't outright "died"!! if only because dnd has actual rules and i can't pull my usual death-ghost nonsense as easily!!!

hes very ship of theseus to me, all versions of him are. what makes up a person? what defines them? is it their face, their appearance, their name? their personality, their memories, their ideals? if you slowly replace each of those, one at a time, with a copy thats very similar to the original, at what point are you a different person?

as thanks for reading all of this i'll reveal what some of the metaphors are, the core of who tsuru, as a character, is to me. maybe this is fairly obvious, but all the death and personality weirdness stuff is a convoluted metaphor for depression and autism, as well as the experience of reading the things you've written years ago, seeing old photos and others talking about who you were years ago and finding that person wholly unfamiliar, that you understand the thought process of that person no more than you would a stranger's, as a result of having taken apart your identity and replaced it piece by piece with things from people you like more than yourself.

im always scared of scrutinizing tsuru too hard because he's just a weird reflection of myself, and i think i'll only be able to write a version of him thats more of a "whole person" once i figure that out for myself. the only way you see your own reflection is through a mirror after all, a flattened 2D surface.

haha this got kinda weird and depressing and personal at the end (mostly bc ive been writing this in the middle of the night, its now 4am)

after seeing my soul laid bare like this, if theres one takeaway, i think its pretty obvious why i'm so enamored by the parts of yohaji that i talk about often (huh wasnt this a post about my oc why did it become about yohaji)

oh yeah i just realised u probably also wanted to hear more about my yohaji version of tsuru specifically. honestly theres not really more to it i just like drawing him in situations. like of course the same themes apply but i just like drawing this dude thats 90% the reason hes my sona. like heres a pokemon au of him i drew recently bc i wanted to draw them as kids and also as pokemon gijinkas

I really, REALLY like how non-sexual his route is. Given, you CAN sex the blond, and he DOES get frisky when "feeling close" to the MC, but compared to everyone else, he's so,,, withheld. It really proved that sex itself doesn't sell the games, and that being averse to sex doesn't make a person any less attractive or desirable !!! look at him! bitchless! yet SO many bitches!!!

what is this old thing you cant remember. a roblox dragon game ?

yeah i guess i should try and mention it here shouldnt i lol

preface that i dont think the game is going to be up anymore, but itd be so cool if it was! so, i approximate that it was sometime during 2014-2017 that i played this game. first off, it was a roleplaying game. it had the typical blocky-ish character models of the time, the generic terrain of the time (if you know, you know. i dont even know if those tools are still available in roblox game maker? probably are) and it even had a physical morph room with buttons you step on like roblox rp games tended to have (i think most rp games nowadays dont do that anymore?)

i have to say that this wasnt a wings of fire or wof fantribe game as far as im aware. it was similar in that the dragons were in different 'tribes' that were themed, but thats about as far as the similarities go, aside from them also having themed areas on the map to live in. yknow, snow area for ice dragons, dark rock volcano for fire dragons, etc.

now, an important thing is that i still have the list of the different dragon kinds! i wrote them down when i played it because i loved the idea of the game and i wanted to draw them and write about them and i genuinely dont know if i knew about wings of fire at this point or not. i also have descriptions, but those are less accurate because i dont know how much i changed the descriptions for my own reasons or not. i could say them if people wanted, but again, not the most accurate.

so heres the list of the dragon kinds. i want to believe i didnt add any, but i know for sure i didnt get rid of any.

also for some reason their wing membranes were typically different colors from their bodies, and i wanna say they were usually bright/saturated colors. not the most important detail, but it was enough that i wrote it down when i was younger

i also believe that a few of them were behind whats known as a VIP area, AKA if people paid robux to the creator either for a badge, or some other way, and got access to a special room with special morphs. i want to say that the skeletal, plushie, maybe ocean and maybe pastel? were in there, but this is also if the game had a VIP room at all.

ive done several searches both on google and roblox itself to try and find this game, but nothing i saw was it or even very close. also, the roblox search function kinda sucks and most of the results are completely irrelevant games anyway.

i know for a fact its not role-play as a dragon by cutemooshi, and i know its not dragon life by shyfoox studios however i do wonder if maybe it was an old or early version of dragon life, but i doubt it. i wish i could ask the staff of shyfoox studios (is it just the one person?) but i dont know how i would lol

also note: i could swear during the tail end of my time playing it that the creator changed it kinda drastically? the issue is that i dont remember any changes because i stopped playing soon after, mainly because i didnt like the changes.

The Book of Boba Fett | Thoughts Part IV

I loved this episode ! I had a feeling we were gonna see how Boba met Fennec and got his ship back. They were the last parts of his story and I was so happy that my speculations were right ! A lot of my friends were hoping that was the end of the flashbacks but I knew we still needed one more for this.

Seeing more of Jabba’s palace was cool. And I loved seeing that droid from Return of the Jedi making soup lmao it was just great. And the Lep-Service droid was so FRICKING CUTE!! I loved the callback from the clone wars episode where that kind of droid ran with the Blue Shadow Virus bomb. And poor Boba trying to scare the hell out of the droid to remind it that he is in fact Boba Fett LMAO you could tell he was feeling his age in that moment.

Not sure how I feel about the Slave-1 ship model being called Firespray but it’s whatever. It they only ever mention it that way that one time then it’s fine. But ugh I’ll be honest I would hate to fly that thing. It looks so trippy and I definitely wouldn’t like going from standing up to climbing onto my seat and sitting back down. I would be so scared to roll off the chair by accident before putting my seatbelt on ahaha 😭 ALSO BOBA IS A PSYCHO FOR PEAKING INTO THE SARLACC LIKE THAT. I felt so bad for Fennec LOL

Droid-gang kids were okay. It is what it is but it did add to Fennec getting fixed and that missing part so I’ll deal with it LOL idk wasn’t a fan with the music and definitely wasn’t a fan of the constant camera shots of that kid with the glowing goggles. It still feels bizarre and flashy for Tatooine and I still think they would look better on Coruscant BUT AGAIN WHATEVER LOL

One thing I wished we could have seen was maybe a small conversation at the campfire between Boba and Fennec about why the armor is so important to him. At least just a tiny mention of his father. The tribe talk was definitely a nudge at Boba finding value in family. Mandalorians value clans and Jango definitely instilled that with his relationship with Boba.

Overall, I loved this episode and i never doubted it’s potential. It sucks seeing all of the hate, but then again it’s nothing new to the fandom fortunately. Change takes getting used to.

ALSO hearing Din’s theme at the end gave me butterflies and made me so excited !! I really do love this show and appreciate the characters and story all on their own, it has a uniqueness to it that definitely separates it from The Mandalorian, but i can’t help my excitement. The Mandalorian and Din Djarin will always come first for me. AND I MISS HIM. I MISS MY GRUMPY YET POLITE MANDALORIAN HUSBAND. I hope he’s doing okay. I hope Boba and Fennec mention the child, at least ask Din how the kid is. And I REALLY hope we see him take off the helmet, not so we can see his face, but at least see him trying to let go of the cult upbringing and feel okay and safe to let others see him. Character development has to be gradual of course, so maybe he will only take it off with Boba and Fennec in the palace? Or maybe he’ll just be completely bold and walk up to the palace with the helmet held against his hip like Boba does?? IDK IM JUST READY TO SEE HIM.

eret - im caught in between a few here but yk those giant chewy strawberries u get in pick n mix? those. she gets a boost on the map that circles the castle bc he knows shortcuts

ponk - 100% sherbert lemons. their cart is shaped kinda like a fallen lemon tree if that makes sense? also his missing arm was a glitch caused by a game bug known as the 'warden' so they tend to bug out in sweet themed races but can race in sour themed ones just fine

callahan - special character who's only seen in races during december but can only be played on xmas eve, xmas and boxing day, kinda like a game easter egg. advent calendar chocolate and candy cane themed bc christmas reindeer. places in at least top 5 average when not being played (as he should /lh)

Ben pours the cereal equaly into the two bowls. He looks at you again and remembers about the milk. Masky had used it yesterday when baking bread (yes, Masky bakes, my hcs :D) He sighs. ”Can you check if there’s uh any milk in the fridge?” he asks you. ”yeap,” you replied. Upon opening the fridge, you were greeted with no milk. You sigh, ”no milk,” He groans *Damn you Masky* You two ended up eating with no milk.. + The both of you meet again when wanting to watch TV Noonie exited the TV room with a yawn. It was 11.45 pm. ”Right on time..C’mon, head to sleep,” Masky told her. She nods sleepily. The sounds of footsteps were heard heading towards the door to the TV room. A blue haored girl sat on the couch, her hands were on the TV remote. She was changing channels, nothing interesting was on at this time. Her friend left to sleep. The girl wasn’t really sleepy yet. You chuckle and skate to him. ”Grab my hand..” he looks at you and does so, ”Babe..i’m rusty,” he says ”You’ll get used to it!” + He would love to swing with you! Probably made one for you too + Please please take care of yourself when swimming. I beg you, he’s damn worried. But he won’t stop you tho. + He might look like he’s not interested in greek stuff, but he is. Even when he’s playing a game, he’ll listen to you. Because you’re fun, your voice is soothing and he loves you! + Theme parks! He loves going there for the stall games and the uh merry go round heh. Roller coaster is his fav too. Loves the thrill. + He always lay down with you at night. Whether you two are talking or you’re drawing or vibibg to songs, he’s there on the bed relaxing with you. + Overall, a promising relationship. He might be hard to get along or communicate at times but he tries to make it better for the both of you!

just got home after the family celebrated father's day happy father's day to ur hubby and every father of ur followers and to all fathers in the world 🤣 i now finally have time to write this probably-going-to-be-incohesive-incoherent-review for lone blue egg.

AURKAY SO FIRST OF ALL. I love rana! we love rana! everybody loves rana!! everyones parents love rana! (in my delusional head, i think even jks mom would actually love her..) she's such a fresh character out of all the fics ive read. she's so quirky and sweet and kind in a way that it's not stuffy or annoying. she never seems like she's overdoing it for some kind of a front, but she's just that 😭 out of all ur ocs, i personally think she is the best one (except my favorite is still and will always be bella. always top 1. that's MOTHER!) idk she just brings so much happiness. i absolutely love how you wrote her 😭 meanwhile jk ... he is such a mess in this story 😭 i notice that's like an ongoing theme with your jks HAHAHAHAHA BUT! i think that's what made their pairing so good and why it worked. i love how jk is this someone who's afraid of spontaneity/go outside of the box but rana is this someone who just goes for everything that feels right. still a little afraid (we see that at how nervous she is with her art), but never too afraid to not try anything. i could go on about how perfect they are for each other but this would be too unnecessarily long 💀

Annnnddd that ending was Adorable with a capital A. i think it was the most perfect ending you could give the two 😖 i love how you made us see how they are as a couple and the seokjin thing was hilarious 🤣 (probably not so much for jk..) but one thing i love about it the most is that you left it for us to imagine how it's gonna be for them after jk's mom knew about their relationship. I LOVE LOVEEEEEEE how we can know exactly that jk is done seeking for his mom's approval and I love how there's no actual reconciliation? bcs his mother gave him so much issues and pain and just a lot of stepbacks growing up. id like to think jk talks to her after like 2 years or something just so they can each think of what the other really means to them. what it's like to actually Love each other. what went wrong. and what they could do right for future relationship.
