oh im a fantasy lover i love magic and monsters and scifi stuff too! bonus points if the protag is a black girl and double points if shes black and gay but thats my criteria for regular books when its fanfic i like sickfics and injury ones like im an angst girl i love me a major character death and i want my fave to suffer... on the lighter side i like fake dating like so much like SO MUCH i still like magic aus too but ill read alotta stuff as long as nobody pregnant and like the fic has to BE SUPER well written for me to even THINK of touching a kid fic with a 10ft pole

like when i get into an ao3 tag i got a full blown system like first i do my favorite character depending on the size of the archive ill either filter it to just angst or the specfic type then read thru back to front once being selective then twice with lower standards and then a third time with desperation. then once ive done that i take off the angst tag and just leave all my exclude this filters on and just do the above with their entire archive. after that i do the same with the relationship i have identified as my favorite

its a proven system i miss very lil fics that way.... anyway

switches are fun! i actually have quite a few games onnit its nice to have a portable console and when u get games like botw onnit u can have good time sinks that are worth the money spent on it and btw.... u can get skyrim on it dgsnszhdn p sure

ehe~ there are video essays that are still really good that are under 40 mins or 30 mins even if several hours is really hard to do. i like ToonrificTariq he does cartoon analysis and theyre normally on that shorter side!

i wasnt necessarily good at knitting like i was really baysic at it tbh i just taught myself the very baysic knit stitch and i think how to do the reverse purl one maybe im still unsure if i actually did it.... funfact i taught myself while i was binge watching game of thrones (when it was still cool) so i missed the entirety of the first season cuz i was focused on my knitting but by the time i got to s2 i could knit reliably with out looking so i actually started watching the show.

i just came back to the fandom in??? idk august i think and it’s been so overwhelmingly lovely here, truly my heart is so constantly warmed by the kindness and inclusivity of the community. i write drarry for three reasons: i love writing, i love the boys, and i love the hp series. writing fic gives me so much pleasure in the way it lets me explore that world beyond the boundary of the books, and bc it gives me smth to write abt that i rly like writing about, which means i do more writing in general. i get mad at myself a lot for not writing original stuff (with the intention of publishing) but i’ve been reminding myself more and more lately that it doesn’t have to be about that, and furthermore, enjoying writing and having a talent for writing doesnt mean u have to strive for being published. hello!!!!! it’s so healthy to have a hobby u enjoy where the pleasure of the act itself is the point.

a midsummer affair

this one really just. flowed out of me! i had sm fun writing it and it was the first time i dabbled in a nonlinear narrative too. i love the aesthetics of it, i think it’s one of my best in that regard. thanks to @kinkybazsmolsnow for the prompt that inspired it.

two hours later

this one came out of me in a whole ass torrent of emotion. i started it when i was rereading the series and on book 5 i think, anticipating the end drawing closer and being excited for it and also dreading it bc i know it always leaves me a touch unsatisfied, as much as i love it. and then i finished most of it after i read the 7th. so this was cathartic as well as fun to write. and again, i like the aesthetics a lot. nailed it!

this has been so much!! fun to write!! @dracoladon is literally such a gem and makes writing this rp fic an absolute trip. i’m so grateful for it bc it’s been hard for me to get myself to write my longer fics or prompts atm so this keeps me writing and is also an amazing project to boot. so excited for where it’s going.

pride universe: I actually can't believe I wrote the "pride" series this year in spring/summer, like it feels years ago,,,,, I put the whole universe (with haechan's "cute" and jaemin's "no thank you" as well) because this universe as a whole has been the most emotionally vulnerable collection I've ever written and all three have a very special place in my heart ❤️ (johnny's "rumours" is the only one basically just pwp in this universe but it was necessary for the good times 👁️👅👁️)

oh no mr suh please don't spank me: what a fic bahahah the first that reached 2k notes 🥺 and the most well received ever. I wrote it so easily too, it was done like in two days. a delight for me too 🥴

soulmates collection: here too, I want to put all three fics I've written so far in the collection ("my soulmate loves wine", "red" and "lean on me"). I personally really love how the concept formed as I was writing and I'm happy that they're still fics you can read individually without reading them all in order or anything. also I'm glad that I've been able to showcase a side of doyoung I couldn't explore in pride or in my other fics before (also an excuse to write as many doyoung fics as possible? 🥴🥴🥴) I'm also very excited for the wips in this collection: "hardest to love", "fragment", "and who are you?", "green" and haechan's backstory "I will not vanish"

anyway i dont even know where to begin ive talked so much abt it and im trying to figure out what to talk abt that isnt me like getting in2 the not fun part of a huge part of Knowing galo autism bcuz of allistic fan response + how trigger wrote him but yeah i think sooo much abt galo bcuz fave character but also galo autism SO REAL and genuinely a huge part of why i love him like galo would NOT be galo without being autistic which is why so many fics n shit ive seen just dont rly feel like him lol, ppl either go like insultingly ableist portrayel or they scrub his personality away to be nothing but existing as sexy eye candy for lio. there is SUCH an interesting character here that ppl want to flatten and i do not get it!!! in canon his character and relationships ESPECIALLY with lio are all written around him being autistic its a major part of his character n understanding his relationships w other characters and even the narrative, i would say 'even if it wasnt intentional' but u do not say what they did to him in the ova and have that not be intentional like there is some level of intention here even if thats not smth theyd ever talk abt. sometimes ppl talk abt like subtle homophobia within the narrative and promare universe that obviously leads to galo and lio connecting and vibing and how important their relationship is to both of them which is true! but i think too reading them both as autistic (galo Is and lio bcuz It Makes Sense and makes their relationship even more interesting) and understanding how tha autism has everything to do with galos relationships and feelings abt his place in the world especially is also rly important to understanding them! like whenever ppl act like galo has no understanding at all of anything similar to what lios been through and he has no understanding of oppression or discrimination like hes not aware to SOME extent of the world hes living in and situation hes in (INSERT TANGENT ABT THE LAKE SCENE PROVING GALO AND AINA FEEL SUFFOCATED W THE EXPECTATIONS THEYRE CARRYING) i just feel completely blown away bcuz not only is he gay but hes also autistic so like how does one walk away from promare thinking galo doesnt understand lio at all on that level even if the discrimination they face manifests differently w the burnish as like their worlds scapegoat, and working together and respecting and loving ppl even if u dont fully understand their situation n struggles. galo being autistic is JUST as important as galo being mlm in my bisexual man opinion and it bugs me that ppl act like galo being autistic is smth they can extract out of galo and out of the narrative and have it still b the same story and same character and same relationship w lio cuz no it obviously isnt! but fandoms have a hard time w that one

Here’s the thing.

I’ve been writing things on a pretty much daily basis since I was 12 and realized how much I loved it. That means I’m going on ten years of fic and in that time, I have written some banger paragraphs. 

So it took me a while to find one. I fell back on an old classic.

““For once I can’t hear you.” Said a voice next to his ear, a voice so familiar that made his heart stop in his side. “But I know you’re awake. And if I read my Spocks correctly, you think I was a dream.” Something warm and soft and slightly wet was pressed to the back of his hand, which had been raised through the air and encircled in warmth. His fingers were tingling like they were being kissed. The same sensation pressed to his knuckles was pressed to his temple. “Open your eyes, t’hy’la. I’ve gone nearly a century without seeing those eyes of yours… I missed them. Please, adun.””

Hell yea, star trek babey.

This is from “All these flashes of white” which is, by the way, a fantastic piece of work, one of my fave trek fics I've ever written. This moment takes place in the midst of a spirk prime reunion (my old specialty) where both parties thought the other was dead. I… really love reunion scenes. They can be soft and sweet or joyus and exciting, and either way a good reunion scene needs an element of catharsis. Grief is such a fun emotion to play around with (as evidenced by everything ive ever written) but it needs release, or else your just building building building and you end the story without it. 

This is why I can't write unhappy endings other than the story ending when someone dies. It hurts to leave it unfulfilled. 

22: do you reread your old works?

Actually I’m going through my AO3 fics right now! I’ve been slowly working my way through for the past few days to avoid coding and billing because a friend said she went through my tag and complimented me. Im a sucker for compliments and I have a few fics that are just… good fics as a whole. (like the old ianto fic, which NO ONE READ NO IM NOT BITTER WHY DO YOU ASK)

24: would you say your writing has changed over time?

Oh hell yes. All writing should. I started writing when I was twelve, at a period in my life when I was severely depressed and questioning pretty much everything in my life. Now im twenty, i’m graduating tech school in a few months, and honestly im happier than I’ve been in a while. My writing reflects that- all my self inserts and fics about sad characters are replaced with… well, still sad things, but now they get better. Also, I actually FINISH things now! And I plan things out instead of going with whatever works and hoping for the best. I check my grammar, I don’t specify POVs, my authors notes are nORMAL. I’ve changed so much and I hope I keep growing and changing in the future.

2. why do you write fanfiction? for funsies! legit. i started when i was like 13/14 because i just wanted to write about stuff i enjoyed watching and that pretty much hasnt changed. like i will write So Much about the most niche concept ever and i have no idea why. (also i do it because im a leo who craves attention)

5. what’s the fic you’re most proud of? oh shit its gotta be one step closer aka the prom dwts au like that shit was bananas. at 138k words its by far the longest thing ive ever written and i just had so much motivation and energy with it and even the planning etc took on such a life of its own.

12. tell us about a wip you’re excited about. so... i don’t technically have a story wip but i am in the process of writing the next chapter of soccer au so that by default, but im also pretty jazzed about some stuff coming up maybe in this chapter maybe in a few chapters time.

27. what’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received? i literally cant pick one because ive gotten so many that have just Made My Day especially recently when ive been down on motivation etc. extra special shout out to anyone who has either left a long comment or a comment on each chapter of one of my fics as they work their way through. but i will say one of my fave things to read is that i got the characterisation right. that’s the thing that allows me to Rest.

33. is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process? i swing violently between writing 17k words in two days and not writing a single sentence for 4+ months and i hate that im not consistent sdjkdskj also i don’t tend to draft? i just set out a few bullet points for the chapter and get goin, do edits a little later, but very rarely will i go back and rewrite a whole thing. what you see is mostly what my brain spat out as i went because i am That Lazy

35. ramble about any fic-related thing you want! sometimes i wonder what some of the au versions of emma and alyssa would be doing x amount of time on from where the fic left off. or like what they do in their downtime where there’s no point in writing a scene about it. like how would dwts au emma do watching the show after having been a part of it? what’s pebbles from cowgirl au up to rn? at what point during college do fdau greenelan move in together? there’s so many questions i have for myself dsjkksd

scene: i gotta say honestly the whole lead up to/first kiss scene in ncu was?? so fun to write??? like i tried to take the actual first kiss scene but but that version of davenzi in it and changed the setting and shit, but once i figured out how i wanted it to go down writing it was!!!! so fun!!!!! also i had no idea that i like,, super paralleled the skamfr first kiss scene until @chlouais told me which is HILARIOUS

line: this is so much harder tbh because ive just written.....SO much guys, like SO much. im gonna kinda cheat and post more of a section than a line but

Favorite Story You Wrote: oh! hard to choose!

i’m enjoying working on the role reversal fic, where sansa goes to dragonstone as queen in the north, to meet viserys, rather than jon meeting daenerys. ive been meaning to finish that next chapter. 

BUT i also started one where margaery is alive & comes to sansa at winterfell after they reclaim it from the bolton’s. im excited to continue it. 

however, writing wise, this one shot i wrote using a writing meme is one of my personal favorites. for whatever reason, it turned out really well written (i think) and i was pleasantly surprised when i reread it just the other day. 

Story You Were Nervous to Post: honestly, none haha. 

the worst thing that could happen is something just doesnt get a lot of notes or whatever, but even thats not a big deal to me.

hi pal! i think i do actually! im normally veryyy indecisive about everything, but i really loved the area where i did my undergrad so i think i'd move back near there. it also helps that i have a long distance s.o. who lives near there haha. oh thats so cool to hear that we have a similar style! I think i usually hear from people who have very detailed outlines but ive always found it more fun to just sort of write and like you said, let the characters guide you! (1)

i honestly had to check my ao3 to answer this bc i wasnt even sure what i normally write haha. i guess 15-20k is my most common length? but this monster of a wip soulmate au ive been working on is 100k+ so uh... idk if i can really say that i tend to write shorter things hahaha. this is definitely an anomaly for me though - ive never written anything longer than 50k before this fic! im sure your big bang is going to be great. what are some of your fav tropes to read/write? i was talking about this the other day with a friend and fake relationships are absolutely my jam hahaha. yay for puzzles especially when you need to pass some time! i always think puzzles arent going to be thaaat fun and then i get started and get totally hooked and into it haha! when my roommate and i were doing puzzles we would stay up so late trying to finish them bc we both didnt want to stop until we completed it. happy new years eve btw! do you have any plans? -S xx

ive recced this before and i love it and! just!! GODDD!!!!! so i think this was one of the first fics i read upon falling into bmc and ive followed it even before i started writing any fic for the fandom myself. reading it was definitely a turning point which maybe cemented my stay in this weird corner of the internet because 1) it was the first Full bmc au fic i had read and 2) it’s so good.

exciting! hilarious! an incredible balance between jeremy’s normal life and jeremy’s spiderman life!! im usually very picky with fight scenes (ive been in several spy movie fandoms) but the ones here are so good fast paced and!! the movement!!!! it feels like watching a movie. of course, when the action dies down, this fic goes fucking hard with the emotions. the last few chapters have had me clutching my chest basically the entire time because god. damn. damn. send help. not just to me but like, to various characters in this goddamn fic, jesus. anyway overall this fic, when not hurting me, is so much fun to read.

this fic was literally just posted yesterday but it’s so good it’s my top 4 already. like okay ive been in love with DPZ’s fics since two years ago in the kingsman fandom (which u should also read if ur interested bc they are 👌👌👌) and when i saw she started writing for bmc i did the mental equivalent of vaulting over a 40ft hedge to yell at the world.

GOD THIS FIC!! heads up, this is porn. and it’s damn good at that. the gang are now functional adults and poor jeremy just meets the most gorgeous dj ever. like. okay all the characters here each get a little bit of their own screentime and it’s SO GOOD! the buildup? FANTASTIC. the chemistry? A++++++. the bit after? added 10 years to my lifespan and also made me believe in love. jeremy’s pov here is sooooooo good because it’s the self esteem mess we all know and love but translated into an older (though not exactly surer) version which is just a joy to read. well written and well paced and fantastically characterized and also the smut is incredible. i need to lie down for a bit.

i have also recced this fic before and the first time i bingeread it i cried twice over the course of six chapters. i mightve cried more had i not paced myself. who knows!!! all i know is that this fic maybe probably totally owns my ass.

this fic is hands down my favorite post-canon fic for like. so many reasons. all the characters in this piece are glorious messes. like, no joke, they mess up and make mistakes and there are consequences everywhere, be it from the events occurring in the fic or events that had happened prior. theres so much . and. then. this fic confronts each and every one of those consequences. the structure of this piece reads like a one by one revenge arc, but instead of revenge, it’s jeremy making amends. AND IT’S THE BEST THING EVER. each chapter is a special kind of catharsis boosted forward by incredible characterization and a pov internal monolog to die for. the writing is phenomenal. the development is like. beyond words and i wanna scream. or maybe cry for the third time. anyway just. it’s good okay. im beginning to lose my coherency.

havent recced this before but here i am now and. you have to read this. well, okay, you have to read this if youre fine with your heart being ripped out gently by an incredible fic that is a mosaic of pining and pain and how unfair things are sometimes. if ur alright with that, PLEASE READ THIS. IT’S SO GOOD.

left_uncovered, resident pain lord, is startlingly bad at actually getting Michael and Jeremy together in her fics but she’s so ridiculously good at constructing a story that is so real it cuts you to the bone and makes you hurt. it’s not the Over The Top kind of hurt, but the hurt that’s even worse because against all odds and optimism and hopes, you understand why it’s happening. sometimes things dont match up, and it’s a little bit of a tragedy for everybody involved. that’s life. this fic is just so gentle and so good at telling you that with short scenes and a stunning writing style that, at times, can only be described as brutal. in one word: ouch. in many words: ouch but holy god, this was fantastic.

so yeah!! there it is!! i highly recommend all these fics and the other fics these authors have written too. make sure to leave kudos on fics u like!! make sure to comment nice things!! show love!!
