Ik nobody sees my Tumblr posts, so I'm putting this here for fun pretty much, but my (obviously not free) music downloader app has glitched on me and now won't allow me to download any more music. It also deleted all of the music I had previously downloaded. Does anyone have any app recommendations for an android user that are also (obviously) not free??

I've tried some other apps but their interfaces are too complicated for me (and my smooth brain), or they don't have a wide enough selection of songs. So if you know any good ones, like, please help a girl out. I literally cannot function in my daily life without music, and I don't always have access to internet to just stream.

I went back to try to reprocess what he was trying to say now that I have a grasp of his method (weird refusal to look up basic music theory), and out of interest to be complete and that optimistically I think he seems to have just enough good instincts to find good kick off points that meander horribly for reasons related to his lack of awareness of technical context, and I realized he keeps trying to call different historical influences different "music theories," as if he isn't using music theory to explain the differences in development. So ignore that.

He also genuinely doesn't understand what modes are because of his refusal to look up music theory (even though the papers he are reading assume a basic knowledge of music theory) and what he's managed to figure consistently between papers he thinks isn't music theory, which is just kind of frustrating. I have no beef tbh because he's so earnest and he does try to be authentic but this is bizarre.

He says something like "non-diatonic sounds exotic and strange to a western european ear," which is nonsense but I see why he thought this was a good thing to say. ......i'm not going to go into it but he's just wrong.

I will actually, because he does this a lot and it's a case study. It would be correct to say "most music students are taught theory that starts analyzing a diatonic scale, and it is a scale people are used to," and "diatonic scale is a basic tenet of music theory but doesn't apply 1 to 1 to foreign historical scales" and "diatonic scales are called church scales and have a western association" and "this foreign history and series of scales is non-diatonic and sounds strange to the western-scale tuned ear" and "the harmonic minor scale (non diatonic) mode of a minor scale has a kind of stereotypical foreigner sound" but it would not be correct to say "non-diatonic scales sound exotic and strange to a western european ear," (implication: foreign) that is a strange clueless sentence but you can see how he would have thought this was fine to say. if he only grasped beginner level sentences and didn't know what anything he was saying technically meant.

That sentence is not technically or realistically correct, it'd only be correct if you took everything extremely generously and vaguely in terms of what he is presuming, (it's more accurate to say here he doesn't know exactly what he is saying,) there are a lot of people who play with modes and scales that are non-diatonic and they are DISTINCTLY western and popular types of music. Blues and Jazz loves doing this, for one. Any random style is distinct because of how it plays with scale, which tips it non diatonic. You could say they have strange, haunting, sounds, you could say they are unfamiliar, it would be honestly strange to say they sound "exotic," what

Holy shit I've finally got it.

Came home early from the Great Outback trip of '23. It's been waiting at the post office since the 12th.

I am legitimately so happy with it. Going forward I am gonna make tweaks to future volumes cause they're gone be chunky Bois but for this one Im happy to post the files now.

You know, I've been complaining about the kids' plans for ages - maybe I should put my money where my mouth is, and come up with a workable one myself.

I think we can still make the Becsprite plan work, if we tweak it a little. All we really need to do is prototype him with an ingredient that can counteract his unwillingness to harm Dersite Agents. It might be worth prototyping him with a Prospitian Agent, who would surely relish the chance to take down the tyrant who destroyed their planet.

If we go with that plan, then we'd also have a First Guardian Sprite who can use the Queen's Ring. I don't know what would happen if a FG sprite gained additional First Guardian traits from the Bec kernel - but I feel like the resulting entity might legitimately be able to overpower Noir.
