Carbon paper is fantastic. And light tables. Both great inventions.

Learning a couple of new things:
marbled paper
Fanzine making (I didn't know how to fold them before this week).
Transferring image on paper.
Transferring image to fabric (linen).
Transfer image to wood.
Create a gel plate from scratch.
Gel printing. I forgot to take pictures of the gel plate and the gel printing, duh. The results are still not perfect, but I had a very fun afternoon.

An image transfer I did with my friends. Did it off some work I did for my course. I really like the texture of it. I digitally edited a little bit of it, yet that's only to make it look coooool

It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally have a method of tranferring images onto glass (and other things) that works for me. I have an inkjet printer so the modge podge methods didn't work. I printed images onto the glossy backing to a sheet from printable labels, sprayed hairspray onto the glass, gave it just a moment to get tacky, then laid the sheet onto the glass. I pressed it down and pushed the air bubbles out, then peeled the paper back. I also used glass cleaner to get to hairspray off the glass around the image to get the effect I hoped for.

The remaining ink on the page transferred nicely onto clay.

learning to love the process and lean into layering over things when in doubt. still considering this a ground/under layer for a painting to evolve on.
feels like forever since I’ve finished a piece, but I think I’m slowly getting back into a rhythm.
